A simply outstanding world language professor! All classes were interesting and all students were given equal attention. She gives a lot of work, but there is plenty of time given to do it as well. There is no reason why anybody shouldn't do well!

If you have taken spanish in high school you will be fine in this class, everyone else will have to work HARD. Do the hw, and study and you will get at least a B. She is a nice person and very down to earth. The only negative is that the class is fast paced.

SPA 101/102 in 7 wk course. Covers a lot of ground quickly. Do your homework/go to class. I am older student who had poor foreign language teachers yrs ago - not now! Favilla so dedicated to her students and subject makes ALL the difference. Here, you get what you give and very fair.

I've had Professor Favilla for spanish 101, 102, and 201. Absolutely love her. She expects a lot from you but its never more than what she has taught. Missing a class can be detrimental. However she will help you with any lessons as long as you are willing to help yourself. She has made me want to learn more, which is why I'm taking her for 202.

She presents herself very well and has a very good presence in the classroom. She works very hard at helping her students learn. She can take complex concepts and make them easy to understand. If you want to learn, she is where you want to be. However, if you looking to dog it, go somewhere else. She is the best I've ever had.

This is not an easy class. I have to study for hours to maintain an A/B. She is an awesome teacher though. The material is difficult for me. I can see how people say she has favorites. I don't think it is at the expense of the other students tho. Lots of homework which will prep you for tests. Go to class, be prepared and you'll be fine.

I was dreading SPA 101/102 but from the beginning, Professor Favilla was so personable and enthusiastic, I quickly found myself looking forward to her classes. She actually made me want to learn Spanish and gave me every tool I needed to succeed. She is one of the only professors I have taken who truly cares about her students and their success.

I've had spanish at gcc a few years back and i learned more in a week with professor favilla than i did in that other class. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of spanish credits.

Favilla is the best! I had her for 101 and she literally gives you everything to give you an A. Gives reviews right from test that actually gives you the actual question you may have to answer. The 2 orals are also very easy in front of the class. Her final oral is not very challenging if you seem prepared. Don't miss class though, you'll see why

I took her 7 week track and was able to cover 4 semesters worth of classes in just 1 academic year! I started in September with SPA 101, and then mid October I believe we started SPA 102. Then in the spring, I started at the end of January with SPA 201 and then mid march started SPA 202. It is the BEST way to go!!

Professor Favilla is an excellent lecturer. I highly recommend, she wants you to succeed! Some do's and don'ts: Do come to class everyday on time, DO all the homework she assigns, DO ask questions. DON'T give reasons why you forgot or didn't do the homework, DON'T use ANY electronic devices, that means cell phones too! Do this and you'll succeed!

She gets to know each of her students, and actually really teaches. She always makes class enjoyable and she is pretty funny. Don't get me wrong, you still have to do your work, but she will work with you if you have issues outside of class.

Elise Favilla taught from bell to bell. I am retired and wanted to learn Spanish for a long time. I was by far the oldest student in the class yet professor Favilla treated me like every other student. She also offered the class many opportunities for extra credit. She is a caring , intelligent , dedicated teacher!!

Good teacher. Clear on what to expect from the exams, and the homework consists of mostly online assignments. There are a few oral exams, nothing too bad. The hardest thing about this class is getting lazy on it and falling behind. Stay focus and participate and you'll do fine, and stay on her good side (she is generally nice).

What can I say I absolutely love this professor. I took her for 101, 102, and 201. I'm currently taking her 202. I didn't need that much of a foreign language but she makes it fun and interesting and you actually learn your stuff. As a nursing major, being bilingual will help me serve my patients for readily!

Elise Favilla's grading style is more than fair. 30% of our grade is homework and getting all 100's for the HW is easy. She also offers 10 extra points to your final grade if you receive 10 hours of tutoring. Spanish has never come easy to me yet I received an A due to her grading system and extra credit.

This is my second semester with Professor Favilla. I will miss her classes and her! She gives you every opportunity to succeed. Besides practice, review, and PowerPoints, she offers extra credit. You can translate books and sign up for peer tutoring. She makes learning Spanish easy!

I just finished 101 with Profesora Favilla and I learned so much. I took Spanish in high school and struggled. She uses PowerPoints, activities, games to help us learn. I also had a peer tutor work with me. I am taking 102 with her because I feel comfortable with her. I recommend her!

I just finished taking the online 201 class. It was accelerated so you had to keep up. There were plenty of PowerPoints, review outlines and activities to introduce vocab and grammar. Profesora Favilla sent weekly reminders and updates. Grades were available quickly. If you have to take it online, I recommend Profesora Favilla!

Professor Favilla's SPA-101 is an engaging class - she's understanding yet challenging. The homework is manageable, and the extra credit tutoring really helps. Using Unstuckstudy alongside the textbook made mastering Spanish a breeze.

I took Profesora Favilla for two other classes, including the one that finished before break. Her PowerPoints and handouts are so helpful! She has an easy to follow outline and always sends friendly reminders. She responds quickly to emails and willing to meet with you. I recommend her to everyone!

I took 3 online classes with Profesora Favilla. Even though I thought 201 was more demanding than the other classes I took, it still was a fair amount. I like Profesora's style of teaching , she gives you a lot of support and PowerPoints. She responds right away to your emails, and willing to help you if you need extra time. Great Professor!

I was inducted in the honor society and grateful for Profesora Favilla's encouragement to succeed. If you want to take Spanish, I recommend you take her class…you won't regret it! She is my favorite professor by far, so awesome. She is kind, understanding, and very approachable.

I took my last exam for my 202 online class on Friday and posted my oral assessment. It was challenging to take this in only 7 weeks! Profesora Favilla outlined the class, gave us plenty of instructions, power points introduced grammar, and activities were helpful. She responded to emails right away! For taking an online language class, take her!

I not only learned a lot but found Profesora Favilla to be very approachable. She offers you many opportunities to succeed. She offers tutoring, review outlines, and extra credit. I had trouble in high school with Spanish, not with this class. I recommend her!

I took Profesora for 101 and 102. I would take her again if I needed another Spanish class. She is awesome at explaining the grammar, gives plenty of practice, and reviews all exams. I learned so much more than high school! She seems like a mom at times…very caring!

I took Profesora Favilla for 3 classes. She was by far my favorite professor! She was always prepared and I liked her teaching technique. Class didn't just include lecturing, a lot of activities and PowerPoints. She gave us plenty of time to complete work, but meeting deadlines is important. I will miss her!
