She is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. I actually came out of the class understanding the material. She's very helpful and hands on and will work you through the problems you have. I highly recommend taking a math course from her!

Very easy and helpful teacher!

Ms. Fischer is a great teacher if you're good in math or not. She's patient and helps with any questions you have. She gives 'suggested' homework that isn't turned in, so if you're in a crunch for time you can skip. She does give daily worksheets out that are graded, but they are concise.

THE BEST!! Simply the most understanding and compassionate math instructor around. Her knowledge of the subject allows her to explain various processes from different angles. Will also work with struggling students. Fantastic teacher, I'm not a math-fan but I look forward to her Calc class!!

This is the best professor I have had at JCCC. She cares about her students success. Homework is an option, don't have to turn it in. She hands our worksheets for every chapter and gives a review before every test that mirrors the actual test. Great professor, easy A.

GOOD teacher! She knows what she is doing and conveys it well. I never once used my book. Just go to class and take notes and the class is easy. I got a B easily, not much effort. I could have done better, but I'm lazy. She makes the class (that I was dreading) a lot easier than it could be. If you don't want to take this class, she's your choice

I love Elise! I've taken her for all three of my math courses, and even though College Algebra can be very hard...Elise makes it fun and easy to understand. If you have any questions, she loves to help you! You should DEFINITELY take Elise as your Algebra professor.

Professor Fisher is the best! Every time I asked for help she was there to help me, always with a big smile. Mrs. Fisher loves math and want her students to learn and love math as well.That is why she makes math so easy to understand, not only while teaching but also with her writings on the board which are as clear as crystal. My favorite teacher.

I love this teacher, she is one of the nicest and the easiest I've ever had! And she is extremely helpful, everything she teaches is useful! If you wanna really learn math in the easiest way possible, take it with her!

Very easy teach, little homework, final grade will replace the grade on any lower test grades, very helpful willing to help outside of class, very easy to understand, great teacher in every way.

She is an awesome teacher. I never "got" math before I took her I have taken 4 of her classes now and this semester I'm taking inter algebra. she is amazing and willing to help and explain anything you don't understand.

Teacher is extremely nice and willing to help anyone. I'm very good at math so I needed none. Gives out homework, but easy (about 4 or 5 problems each section). Test's were easy, about 12 to 15 problems each. Bottom line, if you know math, a very easy "A", if you don't know math take her because this is the teacher you look for! TRUST ME!

Elise is an amazingly, patient instructor! I took her class for the last 2 sem.; and I give her ALL the credit for my passing math! Those who give her poor ratings are COMPLETE slackers! They need to clone this woman for her gift/ ability to teach math.

Elise Fischer is a magnificent teacher. Everyone learns in a different way, and she has the ability of explaining the equation several different ways until one method of reaching the answer makes sense. She was always available for help, and above all, has a glowing personality. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone.

the most wonderful math teacher I have ever had. she is patient and listens and always willing to help. If there is something you do not understand she will explain in other ways untill you get it. If you ask the help is Always there. I thought that I was terrible at algebra untill I had Elise for a professor. She is absoulutely the best!!!!!!

She explains her lessons very clearly. Explains step by step and writes out every step on the board. But make sure you do homework otherwise you'll get behind.

Elise is an amazing teacher. if all math and science teachers were like her maybe we'd have better scores in those areas in this country. I am really good at math, but she is amazing at explaining things in many different ways to make sure everyone gets it. she is fair and willing to help anyone who needs it. i am taking her next semester too!

nothing but wonderful things to say about her. she's so caring and understanding, the sweetest professor i've EVER had. take her if you have the chance! she explains the problems and concepts so well that it's impossible not to understand. i'd take another course from her in a HEARTBEAT!

Great prof. Made the class seem easy. Has a review for each test. which she goes over and test is almost the same as review. Take her if u can.

really nice professor, but does not attend to class very often, she always sends a substitute....i am very good at math,but having a lot of professors trying to teach you the same thing gets confusing so i got a bad grade on her class...she is very nice but i dont like the fact that she never comes to teach her class

Professor Fischer is a very sweet lady who really loves math. During my semester she did find herself having issues outside of school that kept her from making class about 5 times & it made it rough on the class with all the subs. Her grading is very generous and she is willing to help you make the grade you want. HW was not mandatory but it helps.

Ridiculously easy. Great for a slow learner! If you are self-conscious about your math ability, TAKE HER. If you are remotely decent in math, STAY AWAY....you will be bored out of your mind. She is extremely sweet and caring though!

Very nice lady. Very laid back. I don't think the compass test was very accurate in placing me in this class, but she was very enjoyable.

Very great Teacher, been out of school for 7 years was really rusty on my math. She helped me understand and prepared me for the next math class up. Easy, if you do your worksheets and take the tests you will get an A. Great teacher, I will take her again next semester.

Professor Fischer is absolutely fantastic. I thought College Algebra was WAY easier than Int. Algebra. She simplifies the material and teaches it in a way that you will remember how to work the problems. She is kind, professional, and intellegent. And, I do not think that she went too slow at all. Take her and you will do well in this class.

Elise is the best mathe teacher ever!!!!!! She is so helpful and wants you to get it. If I wouldn't have had her I probably wouldn't have done very well. Even though I'm not a math fan her love for math is infectious. She gives a fair amount of extra credit and lets you replace your test grades with the final. I would recommend her to everyone!!!

I took her class once a week and it was perfect. She spent the class time teaching and not talking about unimportant stuff. Tests are very easy if you study and she is very clear. The second best teacher in math I have had ever.

Elise is the best math teaher ever! hated math before her class and part way through I began to understand algebra and I began to enjoy it. She will go out of her way to help you! She gives a extra credit! The final replaces any of your lower test scores, but with Elise you won't need to replace those scores. SHE IS THE BEST! TAKE ELISE!

I used to suffer from terrible math anxiety. In Mrs. Fischer's class, however, she is very pesonable, kind, and accomodating. She obviously cares about making sure her students are understanding her and learning. I cannot reccomend her enough for anyone who is weary of math!

Starting off with the semester i liked Ms. Fischer very well, but as the semester went on her notes started not going along with her homework, so what you learned in class was not on your homework, and what was on your homework you didn't learn in class. If you can't teach yourself math past the basics (which is what she teaches)I wouldn't take her

She is the best professor I've ever had!! She is the sweetest most helpful teacher I know. I absolutely hate math, but she makes everything so clear! She goes at a slow pace to make sure you understand but doesn't make you feel stupid. Take her! I'm so happy I got lucky and had her as a teacher. I wish she taught online so I could have her again!

I suck at math, but Prof. Fischer actually was able to help me retain the information. She was more that willing to work with our lives too. I took her class as a late start, once a week course and even with the shortened semester i actually learned from her. Im ecstatic!

I cannot praise Ms. Fischer enough. I HATE, HATE math--but she engages her students so thoroughly it is hard not love her by the end of the semester. Highly recommended.

Mrs. Fischer is an excellent professor. I've taken her for the past 3 semesters and has been very helpful through all of it. She has patience with all of her students and wants everyone to succeed. Math is math, you have to do your homework to retain the information even if it is not part of your grade. Grade consists of tests and final.

She is really easy to understand and does a section or two a day. It is really easy to understand when she breaks all the chapters down into sections. It helps remembering things much easier. She is really helpful whenever you need help, and work with you after class if you don't understand anything. She is a great teacher, and nice all the time.

Math was not a very good subject for me. I am an older student returning to school. She is available to help with what you specifically don't understand. If you don't do well in her class, it is not from her teaching,Guaranteed!!

Teacher is passionate, however the test reviews handed out do not necessarily impact what will be on the test. Quite frustrating when you expect something to be on the test that isn't, to make up for some of the unknown areas of the test.

Elise is a fantastic teacher. I hadn't taken any math classes in about 9 years. She is really understanding of people that struggle with the concepts and does a good job of explaining. She wants her students to succeed. If you do your homework and go to her with questions, you will pass the class.

At my high school I had very incompetent teachers that I swear made me more dumb. But now I am actually understanding math slightly better I have never been that great at math but just being able to get a passing grade even if its not a B or A means the world to me when it comes to math. She is very easy going and I have taken three of her classes

I hate college algebra and was so scared of taking this class--but Ms. Fischer is a stand out instructor who truly care about her students. She is patient, knowledgeable and one of the best profs I have had. Highly recommended!

Not enough space to give justice to her teachings. I'm one of those that had to repeat algebra, several times. Not only does she offer immense extracurricular help, but, she actually has invited students to have Thanksgiving with her family!! If you lack passion in math, I would suggest you take her class as she accommodates accordingly.

Honestly one of the nicest and most caring professors I have ever had. She goes out of her way to offer extra help or to make sure the student fully understands. I am TERRIBLE at math but thanks to mrs.fischer I passed with a B. If your struggle with math she is the best!!!

Mrs. Fischer was such a joy to have as a teacher. She loved her job so much and it shined through everything that she did. She's there anytime you need her. She's very clear with the material she taught and gave out accurate review sheets for the exams. She was extremely helpful and I couldn't have gotten an A without her. I highly recommend her!

Elise Fischer is easily the best math teacher I've ever had. She tried her best to make math as fun as she can (which isn't easy) but she does! I passed with an A in both intermediate and college algebra with her. She's very clear about what's on tests and she gives great study guides. She cares a lot about students and offers office time to help!

Took online during the summer semester, which was very difficult but I passed and was happy with her feedback and grading. I'm not great at math, but this class did the trick The online math lab was great and had all of the materials you could need to understand/pass. FYI: Online class had 129 homework assignments 15 problems each + 2 exams

Really involved in every students success. If you need help she is always ready and willing. She's human and understands that life happens and is flexible when needed. Recommended by my previous math professor and she is worth it.

Awesome instructor who really cares. Gives great lectures. Tests from lectures notes. Ebook comes with MyMathLab, so don't buy the textbook.

Wonderful professor!!! I definitely recommend her. She has clear office hours and will even meet by appointment if possible. She is very caring and wants you to do well, but she is still fair and reasonable when she grades. She posts her own class notes on d2l (I still like to make my own though) and her notes prep you for how to make your own :)

Class consists of 26 online assignments all semester (so you don't need a textbook), very short worksheets after every lesson, 3 Unit Exams and 1 Final. It isn't too much work, but it's a math class... so make sure you take good notes and take the time to get help! Overall, I highly recommend Professor Fischer if you need to take College Algebra!

She genuinely cares about her students and will take the time to meet up with you if you are having problems understanding the coursework. This is my second class with her and I will be taking one more with her.

Wonderful teacher! Cares about her students. Encourages students to see her outside of class. Will even make time outside of her normal office hours. Super nice! Only problem was she is left-handed, so when she is writing on the paper displayed by the projector, you have to wait till she is done writing the equation to copy it down or take notes.

Go to class (of course)! The lecture really helps (even though she posts all her notes on D2L) Ask her questions! She is very willing to answer to the best of her ability. Ms. Fischer is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! She is so sweet and very kind. There is always homework (online and worksheets). If you ever need any help, she has office hours until afternoon and even has hours in Lawrence for any who live there. I have taken her before and it was great. Hands down best math teacher at JCCC ever!

Love Mrs. Fischer! I hate Math and have taken two of her classes now. She responds to your emails within a day or so, and actually cares about her students. Notes are taken in class and uploaded to D2L that same day, so if you miss class you aren't out of the loop. Will explain things 'til you understand it! Her study guides are harder than test

Professor Fischer is very thorough in her lectures and goes the extra mile. You can tell that she cares and is passionate about her career. I have had very bad math class experiences, and it was a relief finding her, she is amazing.

I've never understood math. All through high school and early college the highest grade I could get in a math class was MAYBE a low C. I took an Elementary Algebra class with Fischer & have now completed Intermediate Algebra and am taking College Algebra with her. I've aced every assignment in these 3 classes. Elise Fischer is a miracle worker.

Professor Fischer is very caring and friendly. Expect lots of homework, however it is all very straight forward. She is very willing to meet with students outside of class time. She will give partial credit on problems. She posts the class notes on Canvas after every class which is a lifesaver in case you miss class. Do the work and youll pass.

I have always struggled with math, and I have never received better than a C in a math class before. She gave perfect online video notes and she was also there for feedback. She was also great because she answered her emails very quickly. I wish I could take her again! Just make sure you don't skip note days or you won't pass.

Ms. Fischer is the bomb. She is responsive to emails. She will allow you to get a higher grade on all homework assignments. I wish I would have taken her the first time in Business Math, because I believe I would have passed.

Professor Elise Fischer was amazing! I took her class for intermediate algebra too and I passed both that class and this one with an A. I hated math but she made it simple/tolerable! She helps with any questions you have, but it is a lot of homework. And study guides before a test were a LOT of questions. overall a great professor.
