Elissa is amazing in this public speaking course. I would have never thought that public speaking would be my favorite class to attend. She gives you as much help as you need with your speeches!

I thought I would have hated Com 225. I loved it even being a 7:30 class on M,W,F, I loved it! She was helpful in class, emails and during office hours! I am not a communication major but would love to take another class from her!

The sweetest professor at ASU. If you go to class or get notes from a friend this is an easy A. For tests make sure to read the book chapters. Really easy to get attendance through clicker points

Lectures are straight from the slide more or less, she just words it differently or gives examples. If you read the slides and know them well you don't really have to go to class, but she usually lets you out pretty early. You have to do the reading for the test, the test has questions from examples from the bookconcepts from the book. Easy class.

Elissa was an amazing professor. Very easy class so long as you put forth a little practice before each speech. She truly cares about her students and making you a better speaker. Not to mention she comes to class dressed to impress. Mistook her for a student the first day.

Arterburn is make the class fun and just expects you do what she asks of you. If you want to pass memorize, and say your speech enthusiastically. Half of the grade is your delivery and not the speech itself.

The toughest part of this course is having to read the textbook in preparation for the tests, which are 50% lecture material and 50% textbook material. She doesn't cover what's inside the textbook during lecture, so you're responsible for knowing it. Elissa's a nice professor though, and very receptive to feedback. Amiable and helpful. Take her.

Very straight forward class and feedback. Go to class everyday, participate, and practice your speech. Her personality is easygoing. I would recommend this class because its applies to real life.

Everything is straight forward. Attend her lectures even though you don't want to. Had to work my butt off for an A but totally worth it. If you attend class, take notes and do the reading you will pass with a good grade.

One of the most open and helpful teachers on campus! She is insanely patient and never makes you feel bad when you're looking for help. Also she was always very quick to email back with help and through feedback.

Despite not going through too many of the chapters lectures in class pertaining to the two exams we had, it was still a great class. She has a very endearing personality and loves to talk to students and get to know them. Even though she can be a hard grader, she gives useful feedback. One of the best teachers I've had in college so far.

The class was very hard for a 100 level class. Arterburn makes some pretty difficult tests.

She was really a great professor! I liked her a lot. Test were a little tricky. Her lectures are not boring and she is very attractive, so it kind of makes you pay attention. Overall this is a good class.

Elissa is very straightforward about the material. This is your basic "put in effort, see the results" course ... Anyone who is saying that the tests are difficult most likely did not put in effort outside the classroom. Attend all lectures and read the chapters outside of the class and you will receive an A.

Elissa is one of the best professors I have had the pleasure of having. She is extremely clear on grading criteria and is passionate about communication. She has the enthusiasm of a new high school teacher, but the professionalism of a college professor. Her excitement and confidence is contagious. Would definitely take again.

Dr. Adame is the best professor I've had at ASU. I've had her for 2 classes and got an A in both of them. If you put in the effort to go to class and pay attention, you'll get an A. She's great at giving feedback and helping you if you need it! 100% would recommend taking her classes.

The best professor I have ever had. She makes complex material extremely straight forward, and provides the most detailed feedback. Also, she is genuinely excited about the content of the course which made me look forward to going to class every week.

It's not an easy A class, but it's durable. Tests are basically from lectures and some from the text, but if you just study terms you'll be fine. Clicker points required but only 15 days out of the semester is recorded. No homework, and the class overall is pretty easy.

Adame really cares about her students and it shows. She is a very easy teacher to understand and her tests are mostly common sense. Class is mandatory for "clicker points" up until you reach the maximum number of participations points that you can earn and then you don't need to go to class after that. All of her lecture slides are posted online.

Great professor. She gives extra credit daily and you can earn up to 24 points I believe. After that she cuts you off then attendance isn't required if you don't want to go. I just went until I maxed out on EC. Tests aren't too difficult and HW is a breeze.

I absolutely LOVED Dr. Adame. She is so sweet, really cares about her students, and gives you inspiring feedback on all your speeches. She expects a lot from you, but as long as you listen and follow her instructions, this class is an easy A. I despised public speaking before this course, but after taking it with her, it has definitely improved.

Took this class because of advisers, ended up loving it. Dr. Adame clearly knows a lot about what she's teaching, which made it fun for me. A lot of reading, don't get behind. She drops one exam of the four, including final, so work hard all semester and you can skip the final. Some extra credit offered, not guaranteed so take all opportunities.

I learned a lot that applies to everyday life. Professor Adame is willing to help and has really clear lectures.

Professor Adame made the class very easy to pass. I would recommend going to the lectures because she goes very in-depth on the readings, meaning you won't pass the tests with only reading the book. She drops one of your four tests or you can just skip the final. I felt that is was very easy to succeed in this course just by going to class.

Great Teacher! So long as you do all of the work (It isn't much, a quiz before every exam, the exams, and clicker work) you'll probably get an A. Unfortunately I missed ONE quiz, and went from an A to a B, so make sure you do them. Otherwise, as long as you come to class and somewhat pay attention, it's really all easy common sense stuff! Loved! :)

TAKE THIS CLASS WITH PROF ADAME! Her class is so easy, show up to lecture and you will get the first half of her exams correct. Read the chapters in the book once and you'll get the second half of her exams correct. She offers a lot of extra credit, and the only assignments are clicker points, 3 quizzes (so easy) and 4 exams(she drops lowest score)

Lots of extra credit, 3 easy online open note quizzes, clicker points for attendance, and 4 exams (she drops the lowest). This class requires some effort; study up and take notes during lecture and you'll earn an A.

Dr. Adame is amazing! Just show up to the class and pay attention. No homework. She says the tests are 50% textbook info, but you can get by pretty easily on common sense. This is an awesome class! The tests are almost completely on examples that she gives in class, and you get 2 tries on every online quiz, so you can figure out what you did wrong. She also drops the lowest exam grade. She is super nice, and makes sure that you understand the material through examples and clear explanations. Take this class!

Adame was one of my favorite professors this year. Her grading was very clear and overall the class was easy. Does take attendance using clicker points but you only need to attend half the classes to get full points at the end of the year. 4 tests and one gets dropped at the end of the semester, so if you do fine you don't have to take the final.

Elissa was a great professor! She was very approachable and prompt to answer emails (except for nights and weekends). Her exams were easy, she gave you all you needed to study and bring a cheat sheet. She gave helpful feedback on homework and was always willing to review before it was due. The group project was the hardest part of the class.

Dr. Adame was a good choice for this course. There are three regular exams and a final, three quizzes, clicker points, and 10 points of ec. The test can be hard and you NEED to read the book to do well. Half of the test is lecture notes and the rest comes from the book. You do get a drop test so it definitely helps. Take the final, It was easy!

She is the best professor that anyone could ever take. Only have to attend class 15 times to get clicker point credit. Tests are half lecture and half from the book, 35 questions so not hard at all. Drops the lowest test too which should save anyones grade. She also offers 10 points extra credit for completing surveys which take less than 5 min.

Dr Adame is awesome. Her lectures are funny and interesting. Tests are half lecture, half textbook and kind of hard honestly so be sure to pay attention and do your readings. You need a clicker or class in order to get points for being there. There are a couple of quizzes throughout the semester and lowest test grade is dropped. 10/10 recommend

Dr. Adame is amazing. She is super nice and caring for her students. This is a very interesting class if you are trying to focus on bettering yourself as a person. If you think you've got that all figured out you'll probably hate this class. If you have to take this class take her. She's awesome.

lots of reading and we actually used the book. if you wont read the book you won't pass. exams were 50% frm lecture & 50% frm book (3 Midterms, lowest grade dropped). fortunately the final was only from the lectures or else I wouldn't pass. we had 3 online quizzes, 1 before each exam. she was very understanding when I needed to postpone my exam.

COM 408 is no easy class, but there is no one more helpful and understanding than Dr. Adame. Not a lot of assignments so you need to take each assignment seriously. Missing class is shooting yourself in the foot!! Do the work and communicate with Dr. Adame and you will be fine. I enjoyed this class.

She is great Professor. My favorite so far. Her lectures are enjoyable and she gives so many examples will help you on exams. Everything that is on lectures will be on exam. The exams include information on lectures and book. No homework. this class is not mandatory but you can get 30 points in participation for clickers. Really recommend to take

Dr. Adame is a really great Professor! Her lectures are very clear and she makes sure you understand the topic before she moves on to the next one. She also does a great job of memorizing names even in a 400 person class. You don't have to go to every class b/c her attendance policy. Her exams are multiple choice half lecture and half book.

Prof. Adame is very encouraging, but if you don't ask for help, you won't get it. It's really easy to fail this class. Make a connection and introduce yourself early- finish papers early and she'll look at them before you turn them in. Also, get a good group for the project! It's hard to recover if you fail the 1st assignments, so stay on top of it

She's honestly so nice. Her class is really easy as long as you show up to lectures and take notes, plus her lectures are actually intersting.

Great choice for Com 100. She is really nice & lectures are interesting. Some test questions are hard so study the notes AND the book to get it down. Even if you don't do great on the tests you can get all the points for the online quizzes & attendance & do extra credit. I got low Bs on the tests & still got an A- so I don't have to take the final!

Dr. Adame was a great Professor! She is very easy to understand and her lectures were interesting and relatable. However, you do have to read the textbook in order to get a good grade in the class. Its a super easy read though.

Go to class even if you only pay half attention to what is going on. If you have ever taken AP Psych or Psych 101 then the class is a breeze because there is a lot of overlap between the content. Overall a great class and I learned things that I can use in my personal and professional life.

Attendance is mandatory for clicker points, and if you half-listen you should be fine. most of the text questions are common sense, and you could easily get a B (maybe even an A just by showing up without reading. Reading is mostly important so you know key terms.

Uses a Pearson textbook that is universal. All questions come directly from the textbook, slides, or a few short lectures. Very easy, maybe an hour a week.

Dr. Adame is an amazing professor. Her class was adapted perfectly for the pandemic and I learned a lot from the course. Even though the class was graded on assessments, the assessments perfectly reflected the course material. She was extremely understanding and obviously loves teaching communication which makes a huge difference. Highly Recommend!

Professor Adame is an extremely caring and kind-hearted professor who you can tell is passionate about inspiring her students. There is a chapter to read and take notes on each week which can be long, and there are two lectures a week to watch in which she expands on the content. There are three tests and ten quizzes, and three reading quizzes.

Really easy class normally there is just a weekly lecture quiz and thats all u do for the week, a few reading quizzes, and 4 exams. I had her online but she seemed like a very sweet person she drops the 6 lowest lecture quizzes and the lost exam (so final is optional). Really easy just watch the lecture videos and youll be good!

I wish Adame could teach all of my classes. She is so well-spoken and her class makes sense. I had her remotely and each week there were lectures and lecture quizzes. About every other week there was a reading quiz on book materials. Go to lectures and you'll be good! Lots of real-life examples.

I wish she would teach more COM classes! She is amazing with her lectures and pulls examples from her own life to help better understand the material. This class was taken all online so I do not know how she is in person but regardless, a solid choice for COM 100. 10 lecture quizzes, only counts 6 of them, 3 exams, drops the lowest test score.

In a semester where everything was crazy due to COVID, professor Adame was very understanding and helpful. Com408 is not an easy course but she did an amazing job making the material understandable. Very helpful feedback and wants you to succeed.

Even though it's a 450 person class, Adame makes it engaging, interactive, and relevant. Lots of people ditch her class because it's easy but I always went because I enjoyed listening to her speak. Weekly lecture quizzes and four exams, your lowest exam grade gets dropped.

She was super engaging and makes the class fun even though there were over 400 students. There's a lecture quiz every week and a reading quiz before every test, but they are pretty easy if you pay attention. I never read the textbook and always passed the reading quizes. Only three exams with optional final.

My favorite class of the semester. The information was easy to understand and I love the way she delivered it. A lot of times the class just turned into a big conversation and everyone would share fun stories about the topic for the day which made learning a lot easier. Her quizzes are straightforward with no difficult trick questions.

Literally the easiest class ever. I got over 100% in the class and rarely went. Gives good real life examples and makes the lectures interesting. Offers honors contracts that took me about 20 minutes to do. Easy A.

The homework assigned was on the more optional side, but it did help assist in tests. The thing that helped the most in fall of 2021 was listening through zoom or going to her lectures. 95% of her test questions were based on class or the application of definitions. I put minimal time into the class besides going to the zooms/lectures.

I loved this class. I took at as an elective and it was super easy. Attendance wasn't mediatory but it really helps to go because there lecture quizzes. She posts all of her slides online and the assignments are pretty easy. the lectures were easy to sit through and class got out early pretty often.

I LOVE Dr. Adame. She is such a badass who speaks her mind. She is passionate about COM and I have never been interested in a professor's lecture besides hers. She is young, funny, and really cares about her students. Probably the funniest and most chill professor I've had at ASU.

Professor Adame was a great teacher and even though attendance is not mandatory, she made me want to attend class because the topics were so applicable and interesting. Her grading and assignments are very fair and it feels like the perfect amount of work. I would definitely recommend!

Professor Adame is incredibly caring and super forgiving towards students. She drops the 4 lowest lecture quizzes and the lowest exam. Attendance is not mandatory but you will want to come to get full credit on the lecture quizzes.

Really good professor. She is very down-to-earth and funny. I would suggest showing up to class because a lot of the questions on the Exams were pulled from the lectures. There are up to ten points of extra credit given out per semester. Class is not difficult, I would suggest taking it.

Definitely take her class if you have the chance. Makes an effort to learn student names. Go to every class because there is a lecture quiz weekly, sometimes based on really specific things she mentions in class. Cancels class the week of exams to give you more time to study. Lectures are engaging and funny.

The BEST professor! Lectures are long and entertaining but mostly boring when she's just reading off the slides. Easiest grade, does lecture quizzes every Sunday, lockdown is required but doesn't require camera to be on. Definitely take her class!!

She's great! Teaches some useful communication life hacks in her lectures, especially with interviews and relationship stuff. Pretty interesting and helpful so I recommend attending and participating in discussions. The quizzes and tests are easy, especially if you attend. Professor Adame was my favorite professor, by far. She has so much good advice and such good material, and she always wants to help. Her textbook is easy to read, and her lectures are fun to listen to--she likes to tell stories and loves to hear them, too, when they apply. She always has something to relate material to so it sticks in your head!

You can tell she wants you to succeed. Her lectures have great correlation to what communication looks like, not only in business environments but in personal and relatable situations. There are just a few exams in the semester, as well as weekly lecture quiz's so its important to attend lectures. Very intentional teacher. VERY passable class.

Very simple class, I highly recommend taking it with this professor she was extremly helpful and approachable, very nice. The class itself can drag on after a while but I found the lectures still worth it. Many people stopped showing up after a while but it is valuble to go to class since she commonly quizzes on things she only mentions in class.
