Needs to have organize her notes but other than that she is good!! Very Helpful
She knows her subject well not to mention reawakens your interest in Biology. But a concern that I have is that she didn't devote enough time in covering the whole textbook.
she was always unorganized and her tests were different from her lectures and the book
her ego is bigger than her rear-end
She is so un-organized that our grades suffer.
She was quite helpful in lab, but did not understand our field labs too well. Was hard to compare notes between discussion and lecture because of contradicting info. Easy grader and very easy on the grading for lab reports. Although she is unorganized.
she just needs to get organized!
She was not very unorganized, starts off with power points then drops them. Overall if you see her for office hours she will assist you and I thought the class overall was very easy. She does remind you that medical programs are tougher than her class
This teacher is so unorganized she never tells you your actual grade in the class. she also gives out tests that are totally different than what she lectured.i do not recommend this teacher because she's too busy running marathons than posting out grades
Meyer is nice, a little uptight but easily breakable once you get to know her. Very clear (kinda elementary) yet she does grade hard in a field she is not too familiar with. Would recommend her though as a lab instructor.
very unorganized!!!
Anat 35 is harder than Anat 10A. Beta sure puts you through your paces. You must be serious if you intend to take her Anat 35 course. Her exams are tough. If you intend to be in any challenging medical program in the future, she will prepare you. Get ready to work though! She's nice if you ask help.
Too many people have dropped out and failed her Anat 35 class. It could, also, be the administrations fault though.
Meyer is the worst professor I have ever met. She does not care if students do not understand anything in her lecture. She always talks about her family and how overweight she is. She does not give time for students especially when they are struggling. If possible take someone else !!!!!
GPA killer Plays a lot of head games Avoid
she gives lots of extra credits!
She was a cool teach. Very helpfull she will provide books to help you with your studies. Her test are hard, but she provides goodies to eat while taking tests. Great notes, gives you packets of print outs to study. Read her notes and youll do fine, just study A LOTTTT.
like her as a person. really nice, funny and entertaining with her life stories during class. BUT, dislike her as a professor. she's too disorganized. she's so disorganized that it might even affect your grade! beware.
She is great, you learn alot from her. She has two Phd's and is very down to earth, she truly cares about her students!!
Very nice & Funny. Tests were pretty easy as long as you studied. Final was pretty hard though.
Nice woman, horrible instructor. Very very disorganized. trying to follow her lectures is like a jigsaw puzzle - with no edge pieces. Is very knowledgable in her area though, but will throw a dozen molecular terms at you rapid-fire and does not elaborate. Did not get anything graded until 2 weeks before final. Take this class anywhere but here
She is a very nive person, but she is so unorganized it affects the students and the way she teaches. I studied my ass off and got a B, and I got A's in allll of my other science classes. She expects you to know things on her test she did not teach you and the book did not teach. Avoid this professor if you can!
Beta was wonderful. Far better then Pascoe. SHe is not at all unorginized, I have no idea what these people are talking about....I would reccomend her abover all other anat. proff.
took it during summer. shes really nice and tries to be helpful but her lectures are so hard to follow. she lectures like we already know this stuff. she has like 2 PhDs so she knows her stuff but she expects you to know it also. got an A so not a bad class. STUDY HARD!!
Very DISORGANIZED!!! She is nice but being nice is not going to teach me anything.
Beta gave the most help of any professor I have ever had. Power point, copies of to learn in lecture, study guides with practice tests, review sessions, and LOTS of extra credit. You have to work really hard, but she is clear. If you don't do the reading and practice you are dead. She is funny and makes anatomy fun. Summer is a killer!
Beta was great to have as a teacher.she gives copies of her power point and studyguides for tests.she does talk fast but if you ask her to repeat it she will and she'll ask if it's ok to move on before she does.she is very organized.she is also very funny.her tests are hard but fair so study every section she puts on the study guide.
easy class(if you're planning not to learn anything , take her), horrible teacher, not very interesting prof...her study guide does not help at all- she will give you over 20 pages of study guide that have nothing to do with the exam ( just read the book - ignore her lecture).for her make-up exam, study thoroughly and go over the lecture note.
AVOID HER..TAKE THIS CLASS SUM/WHERE ELSE. ALTHOUGH SHE KNOWS HER SUBJECT BUT SHE'S TERRIBLE AT TEACHING. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!
She can't teach. She is very political in her interaction with her students- thus this is why students say "a nice person". Avoid her like the plague
I took Beta in Summer and thought she was great. She made lectures interesting (7 hours a day) and had great handouts to help study. She is funny and cool. She gave practice for exams and the practicum. She loves students, and goes out of her way to help them into their career, and to talk to them about life. Highly recommend this prof.
Beta is the best! She taught six hours on Fridays and she kept me awake. I learned a lot of Anatomy. She gave reviews for students and lots of handouts. I wish all teachers taught like her. Totally recommend.
Shw's great!...really helpful...trust me i took anatomy 10A with 2 other teachers and she was definately the best. Helps you out if you ask her. I definately dissagree with the people who state she was unorganized.
this teacher is the best.on the first day of class i was scared because of all the comments that i read about her,but after taking her tests,i felt relieved that i took her instead of any other teacher.her tests are not very hard.just study her notes and look at the book just for examples and you'll do fine.her labs are very fun.shes the best.
She has the experience and maybe the knowledge but she is so disorganized that it becomes hard to follow for a lot of students.Because she doesn't return the assignments that were turned in for several weeks it is hard to ever get a feedback on how one's doing. For instance the first paper will not be returned before the second paper is due.
this teacher is very hard. she's very disorganized. if you wanna pass her class, you have to study really really hard.
I like her teaching, she gives all notes for her powerpoint lecture. U will get high score on exam if U really understand the notes. She is helpful, she gives extra review class to help students to prepare for exams.she gives students extra credit too. some comments saying she is not organized, I don't agree.Highly recommanded this professor.
This teacher is nice but I must agree with some of the other entries, she is very unorganized. When I took her she didnt even go over reproductive and she maybe skimmed over urinary. She did a disjustice to the whole class. She tried to blame the class for her not covering the material when actually she was the one who wasnt prepared to cover it.
I took her anatomy summer class (lecture). LOTS OF HANDOUTS. The handouts helped a lot I didn't even buy a book and got a B in her class! The lectures went kind of quickly but she always took the time out of class to answer any questions or to deeply explain things. She's funny, witty and very enjoyable. Clearly explains things in detail. TAKE HER!
Do not take her for this class. Nice lady, but too disorganized.Tricky wording and testing style. You feel like ur taking a test for a class you never took. She throws in difficult and obscure questions that do not make sense.Class lectures and notes dont help on your tests.Gets defensive when you try to dispute it.AVIOD TAKING HER @ ALL COSTS!!!!
Beta was extremely helpful to me. I loved this class. It was definately a chalange, but if you study and make flash cards you will pass. Her tests are not terribly difficult, if you study! They are multiple choise w/a 10 point extra credit question at the end. I strongly suggest taking Beta for this class!
She's a sweet & nice lady but when it comes to her tests she makes it VERY difficult to understand. Aside from that she tell's you what to go over in the book & notes but will not be on her tests the way she explained it. Tricky at testing. She is unrealible, disorganized & fogetful.Still has not posted final grades. Dont take her for this class.
Very good teacher. Always helpfull. Maybe needs to brush up on her organizational skills.
nice lady and knows her material but VERY unorganized and irresponsible. very flaky and wishy washy. never turns anything back on time and delays everything.
Super nice, understanding, but very very disorganized. She tells you one thing, and it never happens. Takes forever to get assignments back. Not a good teacher if you are always trying to keep up on your grades! Easy quizzes, many extra points, but just annoyingly unorganized.
I think Dr. Meyer is a great teacher!!! I know I didn't get the best grades, but her class was fun. She is such a sweet and soft spoken person. I didn't think she was unorganized at all. Yeah, maybe she didn't turn the grades right on time, but that was no big deal.
SHe is a great teacher who knows what she is doing. Is is organized who ever says anything else doesnt know how how to organize themselves. SHe is very helpfull and very fun.
Lectures are clear and helpful, though not very structured. Excellent lab. Exams and practicum very fair, but you have to study hard to get an A. Overall very enjoyable experience.
she was a good teacher. i took her anat class in the summer and it was great! i recommend taking a science class (like this) in the summer. you dont forget 411 b/c its new stuff everday, and before you know it, it'll be the final!! the cats were gross, but the class was interesting.
I took her for anatomy in summer and I really loved this teacher. She is really clear and an expert in her field. But Anat 36 was not all that great. She was really unorganized and all over the place. She is not used to teaching ANAT 36 and I don't think she does anymore. But she is the best @ ANAT 35.
Beta was great!i took anat 35 during winter, and turned to be awesome.she gave lots of extra credit, and for me the last and biggest extra credit was the best. we had to help out on a project in wild sanctuary for 3 days. it was fun (and plus we got free lunch from in n out for 3 days..hehe). other than that, Beta was very helpful and clear!take he
Beta is a great teacher! she is very nice and helpful. She is clear and concise. she talks in such a way that she is easy to hear and follow. it isnt a easy class, but she tries to make it so you can succced. she tells you everything you need to study for the quizes and tests. i would highly recomend her.
She's pretty good at explaining, is fair and gives you plenty of extra points, Kind of hard to fail her class but seems annoyed when asked a question in class/lab
She is a great professor, who really knows her 'stuff.' If you want a lively prof who keeps you awake during lecture and lab, this is the prof for you! Just study, study, study. She is completely willing to help out in any way she can. Good Luck!
I would take her again if I could. She is very clear in her explanations, and really knows what she is talking about. If you are serious about this field I would definitely recommend her to anyone. Study and you should pass the class. She does offer plenty of extra credit and drops the lowest test score in lab. You will not be bored I promise!
She's AWESOME! I highly recommed taking her, she knows what she's talking about. She gives everyday life examples to understand the science of thinhs. After taking her, every other professor seems boring. Beta is one of a kind!Passed with an A!
This class is easier than bio2, but 4/15/06 tells the bad side about her. Her good side is that she gave many extra credit cuz her exams are hard. If you really studied the note packages, you will get high B or A. I guess she also curved the grades. You wont know your grade b4 final, cuz she is busy.
ive been at mount sac for about 2.5 years, and i can honestly say, beta meyer was my favorite professor. she shows so much devotion to her students and always go out of the way to make sure the students understand. she offers ALOT of extra credit. about 90~ points extra credit. and you dont need the book, just show up for lectures
Mrs. Meyer is an amazing teacher she loves what she does and she's knowledgable. She presents the material very clearly with printed powerpoint so you can reference and take notes. It's a lot of info but if you review and attend class it shouldn't be a problem to get an A. She's very giving she provides scantrons and snacks too! I'd take her again!
She is smart, nice and helpful. I am very grateful to have her for my Anatomy class.
She's an amazing and helpful professor. She really wants you to learn so she tries her best. Don't be fooled by her sweet nature though because her exams are pretty tough. They are not just plain regurgitation you have to critically think. With the extra credit you should do well in the class as long as you study.
she is great at explaining lecture, especially lab. gives a lot of extra credit like 90. her down side is that she will tell the class she will give papers back or post grades, but never does so when she says shes going to give back your test next or post grades dont get excited. but she is a great professor.
Beta is an outstanding professor. She knows this subject very well and makes easy to understand. I would take her for physiology if she taught it. Expect to study a lot outside of class not because she makes it hard but because of the subject matter. If you make it to the final don't stress she made it much simpler than it could have been.
DO THE EXTRA CREDIT ATTEND EVERY LECTURE AND ESPECIALLY LAB, DEFINITELY NEED A STUDY GROUP. LAB WAS THE BEST I PULLED A "B" LIKE TO TAKE HER FOR PHYSIOLOGY I WISH SHE WOULD TEACH IT.
Meyer is a very smart professor. she tends to get off topic and talk about her kids and parents a bit to much. she's always late to class. Her quiz's are easy if you pay attention in lecture. Her exams are very hard. She's very unorganized and if she misses your lab day your screwed!! Trust me she's done it twice to her monday lab. i advise not to
Beta Meyer is amazing. She is such a great teacher, she knows what she is talking about. She makes the class really fun and is very willing to help.
best teacher ever! Dnt consider the bad ratings of beta. Most likely they are bitter they got a bad grade bc they didn't study. Made it as easy as she could considering the material is difficult to learn. She curves final test big time and drops a lab test. Answers all questions above and beyon, about lecture or personal (she's a dr.) just study!!
Beta is awsome. Very informational and helpful. She is a little disorganized but what doctors aren't? You will not know your grade unless you keep track yourself and she takes awhile to hand back results of your tests.I enjoyed taking her for anatomy 10a. Would recommend her for those of you that have the self discipline 2 learn what you can from he
She is the easiest Anatomy professor at Mt. SAC. Other Anatomy professors such as Pascoe, Rexach, and Anderson(Alison) are way harder than her. She is also the only one who provides free scantron. For those who majoring in nursing, the bad news is she is not teaching Anat 35. Anat 10A is only transferable to Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach (BSN).
Dr. Meyer is great. She goes out of her way to make sure you understand what's going on. Anatomy is a hard subject period. But she is extreamly helpful and answers all questions public and/or private. You do have study a lot but she gives you plenty of paperwork to help with the study and lets you know exactly what to study for for all exams.
Great person, excellent instructor, she definitely knows her stuff! She's really nice and she cares about her students. She is so disorganized though. And I mean disorganized like you can never imagine. Arguably one of the harder biology topics since this class deals with concepts rather than memorization.
really nice professor. the class was incredibly easy. i was expecting a lot more but she got so behind in lecture all the time, so i think she didn't cover some stuff. but she's always willing to help and answer questions thoroughly. plenty of extra credit. tests aren't actually too difficult. overall, she covers what's important and helps everyone
Hard for short semester she was great!! great teaching skills, lots of handouts, quizzes are based on lechures, she does everything so that evryone will pass, its a tough class only because its a lot of info but if u really try an A or B is basically your grade.
Decent lecturer, awesome person, awful organizer. Questions require some thinking and are not entirely straightforward. Sometimes they are pretty tricky. I would take her for any other biology-related class in a heartbeat.
Emailed her on the Winter 2011 course outline/syllabus for ANAT35. She is very helpful and referred me to the instructor with the syllabus. Very helpful.
I had her for Anatomy 10A Winter 2010. I took her because I was told she was the easiest anatomy professor at Mt. SAC. They were right! She is very smart and straight forward. What is on the lecture notes is what is on the test! Pay attention to her lecture! What she says is going to be on the test. Essay questions on the tests are always EC!
Had her by coincidence after original professor to a leave of absence. Nice professor, helps in any way possible though she can be immature at times, nothing to cause alarm though. Assigns quite a bit of homework, and presentations are also required. Teaches at a rather fast pace, requires one to study outside of class. Offers extra credit as well.
Great professor. Knows her info and will help you in any way she can. Her lecture exams are a little confusing but if you study hard you'll be fine. the lab exams were straight forward and very easy. Study hard and you'll get an A.
This is the best professor to tak at Mt.Sac. I have attempted to complete Anatomy many times and she was recommended. Trust me take her if you want to pass. Mrs. Meyer has a way of lecturing and making the students understand better. She's gifted and extremly nice. (plus she offers extra credit)
I had beta over the winter 2011. I think she is a great professor. She teaches the information so that when you leave class you have a good hold on the information. Understanding all the topics really helps to study for exams. I recommend Beta!
Beta is WONDERFUL. Be prepared this class is not easy. You're going to learn Anatomy and then some. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
She's a really nice teacher and lectures well, but her tests are not easy, so for sure read the book and study hard. Pay attention in class, and you HAVE TO read the book. I cannot emphasize that any further. But overall, she's pretty lay back.
although biology is not easy, she gives many extracredit, her MCQ aren't easy but in essay questions she is an easy grader. her tests are very long, so watch yr time. she is so helpful & nice, available in office hours, answers all questions even during lect. lab is easy. she gives study guide. i recommend her. drops many quizzes & lab reports.
Prof. Meyer is awesome. Her exams are quite easy if you study. Gives a lot of extra credits and her lab practicums are pretty easy.
IF YOU TAKE THIS PROFESSOR REMEMBER I STATED THESE FACTS. HER TESTS ARE NOT RELATED TO HER STUDY MATERIAL. IF YOU DONT BELIEVE ME AFTER YOU TAKE A TEST TRY TO FIND THE ANSWERS IN HER LECTURE PACKETS. HER TESTS ARE ALSO THE CRITICAL THINKING TYPE. BETA NEEDS A LESSON ON EFFECTIVE TEACHING. YOU WILL SEE WHAT I MEAN IF YOU TAKE HER. NOT RECOMMENDED !
This professor has really hard tests ! True fact, after students would finish testing we would all gather outside the class wondering why her tests were not inside here lecture notes she passes out. Horrible at being organized and expects you to know things she didn't mention. Stay away trust me !
She is highly educated and knows a lot. Her exams are fairly easy if you study and she also gives out practice exams to practice. Her practicums are clear and she is very helpful with questions. I wish she taught 10B. I got an A, and really appreciate her way of teaching.
Great teacher. Anatomy isn't easy. She helps out alot and there's quizzes every class period. You have to study and work hard.
SHES AN AMAZING TEACHER BUT SHE IS LAZY WHEN IT COMES TO GRADING! SHE WILL NOT KEEP A RECORD OF YOUR GRADES SO U WILL NEED TO KEEP TRACK OF YOUR OWN GRADES TO KNOW WHERE U STAND. STUDY OFF HER NOTES AND PRACTICE EXAMS AND U WILL GET A'S ON HER EXAMS! I DID NOT USE THE BOOK AND I GOT AN A!
One of the best professors I have ever had.
Beta is one of the best professors I have ever had. Very clear and the way she is teaches is awesome. She actually teaches and does not just read off her slides. Beta seriously knows her stuff. Very kind and supportive. Provides plenty of Notes and practice exams to help on her exams. I received a 99%, A=. I used a 12 year old anatomy text book
Great professor! Gives extra credit on exams, grades essays very leniently, and isn't too strict on due dates. She does give quizzes every day, but they usually end up being group quizzes. I would HIGHLY recommend reading the book; most students used the study guide, but I read the book and did very well in her class. Would definitely recommend!
I DID NOT EVER OPEN THE BOOK. SHE GIVES YOU PACKETS ND EVERYTHING YOU NEED. SHE IS VERY NICE AND IS NOT STRICT ABOUT ATTENDANCE BUT YOU NEED TO ATTEND TO KEEP UP WITH THE CLASS. IF I WOULD HAVE TRIED A LITTLE HARDER I WOULD HAVE PASSED WTH AN A BUT IT IS A LITTLE DIFFICULT
She is the best teacher, an A is definitely attainable. Gives extra credit and multiple choice test. Don't really need text because she explains everything and gives handouts. Go to class, listen carefully, and memorize the handouts and you will have success. She loves to offer ways to memorize and give personal stories to help class understand.
This professor was by far the best teacher I've ever had. She actually cared about each student. She is very clear in what she teaches and she's easy to ask questions to. She did not use the textbook very much. Her exams are tough and you have to work for your grade but it's very achievable. Overall she's just an awsome teacher
Anyone who says she's not a good teacher is probably lazy and unwilling to work for their grade. Best teacher on campus right here
Probably the best professor I've ever had. This is also taking into consideration my upper division courses when I got my bachelor's awhile back. It's a tough subject, but Beta makes it easy to understand the subject and she makes it fun. Her jokes are hilarious! Best of all, she's always available during office hours and has extra credit on test!
Really great teacher. You can tell she really wants her students to succeed. Always willing to clarify any questions and always helps students to do their best. It can be stressful at times, but with a professor like her, she makes you feel confident knowing you got this and can get a good grade in every exam.
This class was a challenging course. I always studied hard for a test and I always realize that her tests were not based on her lectures. She also gives an 80 question test during a 1 hr. and 25 min. class. Although, she does offer ex. credit on test and does let u use open notes on the 4th test.
PROF. BETA IS A VERY GREAT PROFESSOR. ANATOMY IS NOT AN EASY SUBJECT, YET SHE MADE IT EASIER. YOU DO HAVE TO STUDY IN ORDER TO GET AN A.I WENT TO THE OFFICE HOURS OR ASK QUESTIONS AFTER THE LAB CLASS. SHE GIVES EXTRA CREDIT ON EVERY TEST, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT !! I TOOK IT ON WINTER AND GOT AN A. BTW, I NEVER OPEN MY TEXTBOOK.
Anat 10A is definitely a class you need to study for. I took this in a 6 week intersession and your grade is compromised of 6 lecture test and 4 practicums. However, she lets you drop one test from each lecture and practicum. She also gives extra credit on each test(which is a plus). Prof. Meyer is awesome! really knowledgeable, smart, and caring.
She teaches Anatomy as if we were high schoolers - wicked easy. The information are taught to us in a way that's easiest for us to remember on a 6-week period. Very funny and extremely nice. Lecture exams are straight to the point - all multiple choice and extra credit short answers. I would love to take her for 10B (if she taught it). LOVE her.
Elizabeta Meyer is a very knowledgeable professor that knows how to convey the complexities of anatomy in a relateable and understandable way. Her classes are funny, exciting and she has a lot of experiences in science and healthcare fields that are very interesting to hear about!
Elizabeta Meyer is a very knowledgeable professor that knows how to convey the complexities of anatomy in a fun, practical, and understandable way. Her classes are humorous, exciting, and full of shared experiences in science and healthcare backgrounds that are engaging to hear about!
She is THE BEST!!!! Very smart, intelligent her tests are fair, her lectures are very organized and clear. Take her if you want to learn stress free.
Beta is definitely my favorite professor at Mount Sac! I don't have a science background but I needed to take this class for pre-requisites, and she made learning the material so easy for us. She really motivated us students throughout the entire semester. Not an easy class but Beta helps out a lot. Highly recommend to take her!
Beta is fantastic! Very intelligent, easy to relate to, and a lot of fun! She grades very fair, does not play favorites, and gives a lot of extra credit. Put in some effort in her class, and the pay off is huge. I had her as my lab instructor, and she made things very easy to understand and fun to learn!
Prof. Meyer is amazing! Her lectures are organized and carefully curated. She provides every resource available to help her students succeed in her classes. It helps that she is also approachable, and very gracious with her time and assistance outside of the classroom.
It was her first time teaching a genetics course at Mt. SAC, so it could have been better structured. Took awhile to return assignments and often didn't have current grades. I had no idea what I had in the class going into the final, so it was very stressful. However, she is a very nice & approachable person. Very helpful during office hours too.
Go to lecture, do ALL of the reviews and practice tests. She prints out the lecture packets for you. Tough class but doable if you put the time in. Read the text book along with the slides. This is not a class you can cram for last minute, schedule a couple hrs/day. Make friends to get help. Go to her office hours, she's very nice.
Prof. Meyer is easy in grading and understanding. The tests were long. She made writing papers less frustrating and enjoyable. The only tough thing is to read the book since the tests based on the book, not only her powerpoint. 15 points extracredits. But she's disorganized and took long time to return papers. Overall, recommend her class.
Dr. Meyer is amazing! She is awesome at what she does. She is so sweet and shows she cares very much about her students. She gives extra credit which really helps. *ALWAYS ATTEMPT TO DO EXTRA CREDIT ON EXAMS* she has relatable stories that kind of help u remember certain topics and also keeps lecture interesting. Would highly recommend .
Easy to follow & understand lectures. Really supportive of students to achieve best grade deserved. Attend all lab & lecture, read required materials, do all the homework & extra credit assignments, & you will get the grade you "worked for."
Shes very disorganized and gives packets out that are difficult to tell apart. She will help you, but goes through everything like you already know it and expects this to be refresher course. Shes good at giving examples of what things do but shes more interested in giving personal stories than making you understand the subject.
Dr. Beta Meyer is a great inspirational professor, clear straight to the point. Read your PowerPoints, take notes. Don't skip class, visit the STEM center for Lab. Remember everything about this class for life because it's about you and your body!
Heavy lectures, but its ANAT so what do you expect. Really cares for her students. Shes been doing this for a long time so she knows exactly how to teach the material. Many opportunities for extra credit. Drops lowest lab test, chooses best 10 of 15 quizzes and best 10 of 15 HW assignments. Many are group quizzes. Make sure to study.
Show up to the classes. You'll miss a lot if you skip class, especially lab. Study the notes and you should be fine for the tests. Read the book if you really don't understand a topic, but it isn't necessary. Visit the STEM center and use online resources for lab practicums. Do at least 10 HW assignments and quizzes shouldn't be hard if you study.
Took during winter and was a very difficult class but put in the work and you will have no problem passing. Amazing teacher
Took during Winter course; lots of studying but doable! Lectures are straight to the point and she gives you the slides which are great to add notes on. You won't need the textbook. Lots of EC opportunities and drops the lowest exam. Take advantage of the STEM center & coaching as it helps a lot. Great professor overall, I'd take her again!
super sweet lady but extremely unorganized. She's always there for you if you need the help but this class is extremely difficult because of the unorganization. You'll learn completely different things in lecture and lab even though they are supposed to correspond. It seems like more of a physiology class
Great professor, she care about students I really enjoyed her lecture.
During lecture she gives very broad teaching of the subject, and the tests are very specific. You need to teach yourself because what she teaches is not related to what she tests you on. I feel like Im teaching myself the subject and shes just there to hand out a test and a grade. Ive done good in all other science classes, except this one so far.
She is a great professor and her tests are very straight forward. The hardest portion of this class is usually the practicums (50-100 questions), which are fill in the blank. Most of her lecture contests consist of matching questions, like 6 questions with an answer key of 6, all of which are 1:1 so it is extremely easy.
P. Beta is always on campus and is probably the most kind-hearted professor at Mt. SAC, she really cares and loves her students. Seek tutoring from the STEM center and her weekly in-class tutoring. It's a lot of course material to learn, never cram for her tests. It gets fun as the semester goes on! She brings snacks during lecture days (:
Takes the time to explain what is really important to know, why and why not. Helpful and wants students to get it. She is GREAT!!! Not an easy class, but o your work and it's doable.
Solid teacher. Lectures are based on powerpoint. She provides packets that include the sides, HW, and old test/quiz questions. You have to read outside of the class to be able to get an A on her tests. The lecture is mostly memorization and some concepts to understand. The lab is completely memorizing things. She provides extra credit and snacks.
Professor Beta is hands down the most caring teacher I've ever had. Though you do have to work for it, she is quite reasonable. Gives you more than enough chances to succeed. She can be a bit broad at times with what she wants you to study, but she makes up for it with extra credit. She also brings tons of snacks on test days.
Fantastic professor! Of course ANAT is a tough course but Beta provides so many resources, it is up to you to hit or miss. Aside from the textbook, Beta provides lecture slide notes, EC on exams and in class, and tons of goodies (cheez its mmm). Labs are not too bad, just memorization and provides slides of models and cats on canvas. 5 for Beta!
By far the most amazing anatomy professor she is really in making sure everybody knows the material, understands the material so that everyone can pass! She is so sweet
Shes a really good teacher and easy to listen to, but shes expecting us to know a lot of information. I took this class in einter so it was accelerated, but nonetheless you need to study and work hard to know the material. Its lots of new concepts and memorization, but if you can keep up and dont miss class youll pass
Probably the best professor Ive had at Mt. Sac. She is very sweet and explains things well. If you don't understand she is happy to go over it again with you. Make sure to put in the effort and you will do fine. Ended with an A after taking her for winter session, you won't regret taking her.
Amazing professor! Not an easy subject, but Beta is super caring and wants everyone to do well! Shes laid back and is completely open to questions and explains everything in ways that are relatable! Brings snacks for her students and is willing to put in extra time to help you pass! A lot of studying is key, but she teaches the material well!
Beta Meyer is a real gem and asset to Mt Sac, she is extremely kind and caring and truly wants you pass the class with learning and obtaining new ways to understand Anatomy! she is my second anatomy professor and by far the best one around! her class is NOT easy but no anatomy is! she is helpful and willing to go over anything and everything twice!
Dont take her!! She doesnt teach a thing. She just gives out some Powepoint which covers 40% materials on the exam. Expecting you to read and study your own. No lecture zoom No recorded videos. She teaches you basic stuff, but test you in specific things with her confusing wording. I cant warn you enough.
Beta is truly a GEM!!! She really helps her students succeed. She responds to emails/text in a timely manner. Her lectures are NOT boring. She has a great sense of humor. I've taken her twice both ANAT10A & ANAT10B. Quizzes have unlimited attempts and exams she gives 2 attempts. The best professor ever!! Take her. Classes fill up fast, very popular
This professor explains everything in great detail. During the pandemic she records her lectures, so you are able to go back and review your notes, hw, or anything that you missed or didn't understand. She reachable through email, Saturday zoom class, and phone. I never met a professor who cared so much and took her time make sure you understood
Overall she Is amazing professor. yes she is a bit tough but on this subject you should be tuff, yk. :) she cares so much for her students. I was in access and struggled a bit with comprehending some material and she took the time to help me understand and get through this course. just study and you'll be okay. take her class! she is worth it. <3
She really cares about her student-- extra credit opportunities, optional Saturday labs, practice quizzes, etc. To succeed, you really need to put in the work and time. Don't be intimated by its difficulty, she will help you! You will do great if you can memorize material easily
I always wish I could trust these ratings, so I am here with all honesty. Hard class, lot of material, LAB part is completely different material than lecture, feels like taking 2 classes. Drops one quiz and one test. Cares about her students, SUPER sweet, ALOT of extra credit in class. Its Definitely doable but not easy , great teacher
Sweet, caring, AMAZING teacher. Very simple/tough class.
Professor Beta is genuinely one of the best professors I've ever met. Super caring and tries her best to make sure everyone understands the material. She offers some extra credit and will extend deadlines if situations come up. Pay attention in lecture and lab and just review your notes once in a while and you'll definitely pass.
truly an advocate for students and is well respected. get ready to read. lab and lecture completely different, each with own exams. don't take histology unit for granted! connect what you're learning to histology, it will be helpful in exams. accessible outside of class via text or email. textbook pdf CAN be found. intense 6 weeks but doable!
Beta is truly amazing! I was an access student and still am. I struggled at times to retain the information, but she helped me and even made Saturday morning available to take the exams and have more time to study. the material is tuff but it's doable! take her class. I can't wait to take her for next semester for physio. :)
it was a lot of the powerpoint that how i was feels drown overwhelming; I feels like not understand how it is work process from there. it was seat been in six hours on zoom. I can't does it was too long for me because it was not good for me to my eyes watch way at all. I will be tried in the end. but at same time the teacher does great job so far.
Beta is the best prof for anatomy. She offers office hours, extra credit, and many opportunities to get a good grade. If you don't put in the work you will not pass. Expect to read lectures before class because she jumps back and fourth, however her lectures are amazing! She gives detailed study guides, make sure to study at STEM
Dr. Beta cares students! She provides a lot of extra credits. She cancelled in person quizzes and made it online with multiple tries because she was students are stressed with in person quizzes. However, be prepared since this class is a heavy course, make sure to study enough to get a good grad.
Amazing professor. truly cares for students. 3 lec. exams (use 1 big note card), 1 final (use 8.5x11 paper). 4 lab exams (memorization/identify, no note cards). lec quiz online, lab were group then online (unlimited attempts). she gives tons of EC, SHE WANTS YOU TO PASS. doesnt torture her students. plus free snacks lol. taking 10B w/ her next sem
dr. beta is a super sweet and caring prof, and she does a great job of teaching. not an easy A though - the class to begin with is not easy! put in the work and her exams will be doable, I was always in the 80-90 range for exams but doing homework and labs and the ec she offers will get you to the A you need!! def recommend taking her :)
Professor Meyer was a great professor! There is a book that you can read, but her lectures and handouts are all you need to know to succeed in the class. Her exams are straightforward and easy if you study her lecture packets. She wants everyone to succeed, and she posts a lot of resources on Canvas to help. Plus there are always EC opportunities!!
will give you a million hand outs and quiz/test you on EVERYTHING that was never on those handouts. She is one of those professors that purposely tries to trick you on every quiz. unless you know the ins and outs of anatomy already I dont recommend this class.more than half this class dropped this class before it was even over. also give attitude
Amazing professor. I had another class and still passed both with As in the winter. 4 Lab practicums (tissues, bones, muscles, body systems) and she drops the lowest one (I dropped muscles). 3 Lecture exams and I got an A on all of them because she gave us a 5x8 inch notecard cheat sheet to use for each one. Plus she gives a lot of extra credit!
she's an amazing 10A instructor, 10B was not very good. She does allow cheat sheets for exams.Quizzes are online, open notes. She had ALOT going on during the fall so we fell behind, the class was also a bit lazy which made her feel less engaged with us. I feel if things weren't last min I could've gotten an A. But ok with a B. Physio is hard!Study!
I love Beta!!! She was absolutely amazing and honestly so kind. Her class is graded super fairly too. I took her in winter 24 and although it was a heavy class, Beta made it manageable. I got an A on all the lecture exams (1 big note card each) and an A on all the lab practicums. As long as you study it's a good class. Beta is always there to help
By far the best professor ever. She truly cares about us. She offered so much extra credit and so many snacks in her office. She is very helpful and clear on her grading criteria. I failed the first 2 exams but with her help I was able to pass with an A. You really have to study if you want to pass her class anatomy is hard.
Took Prof Beta for Spring 2024. She is very caring and wants us to succeed. Tests are 3 lecture exams and 1 final, and 4 lab practicum with the lowest practicum being dropped. She gives out extra credit occasionally and offers snacks. Tries her best to offer resources on canvas to help study. As long as you put in the time to STUDY you'll pass!!!
Literally gives you her personal cell and answers very quickly, there's no reason anyone should fail her class. She got us prepared for 10B and I am doing well in 10B too. Most caring and up front Professor. If she did 10b lecture and lab I would've taken her again. The exams are taken from her powerpoints. Shes amazing.
She is a generous grader for 10b. If you pay attention and put in the hours to study well in advance you will get a good grade. She puts extra questions on both quizzes and exams to boost your grade. She drops the lowest score, so I got to enjoy the luxury of not having to show up to do the last practicum. I was prepared for 10b. “It's all good”
Professor Beta is a gem! Her class is manageable with dedication - utilize resources like the free textbook, study sessions, and unstuck ai to ace the exams. She genuinely cares and offers lots of extra credit. As long as you put in the work, you'll succeed in her class.
One of the best professors in Mt. Sac or is the best. She will take her time during the weekend for finals week to help students study in the stem center sometime or just on campus. Her lectures are very important but is good at teaching. She understands her students and will do her best to help anybody, including students outside of her class.
There is no Extra Credit, expected to answer each question for 30 seconds, spelling matters. There is no word bank, multiple choice etc. The most annoying part was that she took forever to grade the exams, at least 3 weeks after you took the exam. Also, a bad communicator never keeps her words!
I took her after I failed Anat the first time and got a much better grade! She is sweet and super understanding. She gives you all the information you need for exams, so review them! Yes, she took a while to grade, but she was honest and upfront about it. Her practicums were standard, and she wouldn't try to trick you. TAKE HER!
The review that mentions exams with only 30sec to answer, spelling matters and no word bank is the way Mt. SAC has all Anat 10A profs test their students. Ik this bc I've taken Anat 10A twice and my 2nd time with Beta and she's such a great prof. She cares about her students and is open to questions and genuinely wants us to learn. Take her 110%
Professor Meyer is so amazing! I felt intimidated at the beginning of the semester because it's 6 week class (winter) and I didn't know what to expect of it. She gives the good and easy to understand lectures plus plenty of extra credits. She allows note card for the exam but don't abuse it because someone(s) in our class did and she took that away
3LabExams(30%) drops one + 3LectureExams(65%) no drop + Quizzes 5%. No Homework. Im on exam3 and about half the class dropped Meyer IS a nice and understanding professor she gives you all the resources needed to succeed however its a lot of information. IF you're not gonna put in the work then Meyers kindness wont be enough to pass the course.
Anatomy is not a class you can pass without studying on your own. She really wants you to pass but if you don't take your own time to study you will not get a high grade. She cracks some jokes here and there which makes lectures more enjoyable. She drops a lab exam and has a lot of online quizzes to help you study and only 5 count toward your grade
I just took my final on Monday and the majority of the class had dropped by this point. If you don't study regularly and show up for lectures you def won't pass this class. Beta is very nice and gives extra credit but we did fall pretty behind this semester which made the exams a little more difficult. Note cards for tests and lots of extra credit!
Prof Beta gave us so many useful resources to help us prepare for each exam and also provided us with lots of extra credit. Utilize the materials she gives u and it will help so much! We did fall behind where we had to self study so beware that you may need to teach yourself on your own, but you'll do great!!
Prof. Beta is on your side to succeed in this class. She's generous with extra credit, practice exams, and open labs on weekends to review before midterms. Memorization-heavy so dedicate real time in the week to study, not skim the material. The course is doable, coming from a former arts major who switched to STEM. You got this!
