Shes so cool you learn a lot,no textbook and fun class
shes okay, her grading is a little strict. But, the class is pretty easy, there isn't much work.
she is annoying. she makes you go to boring places. its all about artistic crap.
I HATE ART
She is seriousley one of the best teachers i've ever had. She is so informative and so good and you actually pay attention in class. Shes really smart and funny and really interesting. TAKE HER CLASSS!!!!!!!
one of the better teachers to teach drawing classes.
good easy class, just make sure you show up!
I love her shes the best teacher ever in st johns.
She made the class interesting and fun...no textbooks, her exams are very much based on the homework assignments...lots of trips to museums, not the easiest grader but definitely not the hardest. Lots of small papers to write and the exams are essay-form.
If you want to learn how to paint take this teacher. SHe's the best and is only there to help. She's really nice and only gets pissed if you're habitually late and/or absent.
very nice, helpful ,just show up on time

The worst for discover NY. Avoid her because this is another boring art class.
I hate her, she picks on things that are not important just to lower your grade on paper, can be very rude, she is very boring with her stupid art work. Don't take her, unless you like to kiss professors ass cause she loves that
No Comments
boring! always show up to class attendance is very important to her. try to drop this class if u dont like art.
she can be difficult at times. sometimes funny but sends you on pointless trips to museums on free time you don't have. as a teacher she is compasionate and nice just don't be late to class. i enjoy the class just hate taking my own time out to do the a
This woman is very passionate about art--so if you arent interested in art history, this class will be VERY boring. The weekly trips to museums get on your nerves after a while. You dont have to write well, she only cares about the information. Her notes cover the material needed for assigned essays.
i dun see wut da fuss is about. u juss gotta do ur work and have 51% interest in the course. hard work is paid off in any subject n this fair prof. will give u wut u earned. only 1 test, even thats easy. museum trips suc but if writing is ur thing then ull do great. have respect for da lady n ur set
very boring class. If you don't like studying art then dont take her class.
I think she's easier then most other DNY prof. She gives 1-2pg papers madd easy and you get 2projects and make sure to be creative and not boring cuz she likes creative presentations. Just be on her good side.
Prof. Albert knows her stuff, and she expects you to work very hard, This is the reason you are in college. Show up, participate, and you'll succeed. Be a slacker and you will earn what you deserve.

stay away! u write a paper ,u rewrite a paper ,u still get a comment on it .god knows wot she wants u to write .will send u to aimless trips all over ny .my god! if u dare sleep in her class! u r screwedddddddddddd!
it's college, you have to do your work regardless who the teacher is. it's only boring because you're not interested, then dont pick this prof. at the first place, if you had no choice, deal with it. prof. albert is passionate about teaching and she's doing a great job.it's easy and you'll learn.
She is a good teacher but gives two take home paintings that take about three weeks each to finish. Can also be a bit mean at times but over all a pretty good class.
I love Professor Albert! Great teacher, if you work hard you will get a good grade! She's a stickler for attendance though so be on time and don't miss a class. Also, she lets you redo your work after critiques so you can get a higher grade. She's wonderful....take her!
Awesome teacher... No doubt hilarious and fun. She has her bad days, but even those are funny. She is witty and a great teacher. She does get intimidated by good art (rivals to her own), but she loves eye contact and effort. EASY A! Just don't be late;)

She's a nice professor so far. I've only been in her class for a lil over a month. She's caring and is concerned about her students. If you do miss a class and are a good student she will try to find out if you are okay. She will even contact your advisors. It's an interesting course with alot of traveling. If you work it has to be a flexible job.
It wasn't that bad. I learned alot of things I never knew about NYC but It was a very drawn out class. She wasn't bad but needed to keep us interested in the material better.
Very smart professor. She def knows her stuff. Make sure u are ON TIME and DO NOT Fall Asleep in class. She turns very dull subject into very intersting ones. I def would take her again. I had for a 3 hr DNY class and surprisingly I have no complaints :)
Hands down, she's the best. She is so into her class and very down to earth. Easy to get along with and extememly articulate. I loved her class, it was my favorite! Take her, I believe she can teach any subject and excel in it.

she not that eassy but fare ...she loves to give a lot of wrtting to do ...so if your a good writter and stright to the piont with great art skills go for it ...you'll do fine ...as for others a little hard work will require ...ohhh yah shes realy boring cuz she speaks at one tone ...so good luck not falling asleep at her class
her class was interesting, but sumtimes she can get dull...be in class on time...make sure u r very thorough and detailed in ur essays...u go to museums and analyze artworks
One of my favorite professors at St. John's. She is very friendly and made DNY interesting since she is an art prof. You have to go to about 3 places and write papers but they are very short, just be detailed and answer the questions she asked. Don't take her if you like to cut and come late, she hates that.
DONT GO LATE!!!!otherwise she does this stare at you like you just kicked her in the nuts and its annoying....
she is the best; easy grader
She is excellent. Extremely smart, knows her stuff, and is willing to help. She can be strict but that's only because she expects a lot out of her students. DON'T BE LATE!!! AND DON'T SKIP CLASS!!!
She was amazing. I took two classes with her and she was just an amazing professor and now friend.
Take her if you are an art major. You will learn SO much. just be creative, come to class on time, and don't be late with assignments. She is opinionated, but really helpful, not an egoist.
she's nice, and tries to make art as interesting as possible.not an easy A though.it's pretty involved for a dny class,i feel like we always have an assignment due.try not to miss class, attendance is importance to her.not a bad class if you're willing to work
She is a great teacher as well as a very nice person. She will stay after class and help you if you need it and explains things very clearly. Her DNY classes focus on art and she sends you on trips to New York's art museums. Classes are all powerpoint presentations and sometimes movies.
she loves teaching and incomporates art almost in every lecture of DNY. almost no homework and no text to read. all u have to do is listen and be in class. she is evil w/ lateness
She is a very sweet woman. She has a vested interest in her students. She gives many opprotunities to do better. she is always willing to help. interesting class. Interesting and simple assignments. take htis class if at all possible.
It is a very interesting class, but the professor definately expects a lot out of you. You HAVE to come to class because the papers that she assigns have to do with the lecture and you incorporate in your paper what she said. It's all slideshows though. Don't show up for a couple of classes, she will lower your grade.
she is very ok
Professor is awesome! Her projects are simple, and easy to finish in class with little homework. She lets you redo things for a better grade! and shes really nice and interested in her students. If you ever have a problem go to her! She's very fair in her grading, and isnt afraid to say what you need to hear! overall great class, enjoyed it alot!
If you think DNY is a pass for an easy A - this class is not for you. She assigns cute field trips around the city that we go on ourselves but must write tons of essays for. She is anal strict about lateness and cellphones in class (seriously?) so you feel like you're back in highschool.
Good professor, makes subject interesting. You definitely have to work for your grade, she is not an easy grader. Also, like everyone else said, DO NOT COME LATE to class! She halts the class and gives you this evil stare in front of everyone. I recommend her though, she's cool otherwise.
She is a very artsy woman (she is an art teacher) and may seem ful of herself at first, but you'll come to find out she's very down to earth, fun and intiresting. Shes probably the only clas I enjoyed going to that semester, though dont fall asleep in class because she gets a little mad...or text. Her grading may be a bit critical, but I like her
She is a great professor. If you are taking her for DNY, you should have an interest in art and art history. We critque art pieces in class with a ny perspective. final project includes a powerpt slideshow. She was easy, knowledgble, and interesting. Take her!
Best professor ever. Not just for DNY or art. She has a crystal clear way of articulating herself, and an unusually permeating benevolent disposition. I wish I were an art major to take all of her classes.
She is the nicest professor ever. She is always willing to help and her homework is not hard. Use alot of the terminology from class. You have about 4 papers, an extra credit, final presentation and she drops the lowest grade.Take her if you want to have an interesting class.
She is a great professor. I'm glad I had her for DNY. I found her class to be interesting and fun, and I actually learned quite a bit. There are 5 hw assignments and she drops the lowest grade. The midterm is take-home and the final is a powerpoint presentation. She's very critical when grading essays, so try to use ALL the terminology. Take her!!
Professor Albert was the best. She truly opened my eyes to so many different things in the city including art and architecture. She is great when you respect her. She is a very fair grader and i enjoyed her class very much. Now every time I see her she always tells me how much she misses me! shes an awesome awesome professor!
She's the best professor for DNY. She's always available and will answer all your questions :) She knows what she is saying. Just keep in mind to use correct terminology. Overall easy class!
About 5 papers but you can revise them. She lets you see NY in a diff way, esp. in art. Go to class and be cool w/ her. You will def. get A- or higher! Take her!
Never take her. I regret taking her. She gives essays every week. She gave 3 essays for midterms. Its hell.
Great teacher but hard and time consuming works every week. I ended up writing more essays for this class than I did for English.
One of the best teachers I have ever had. She is very respectful and non judgemental, keep up with the dates and don't miss classes. Under crucial circumstances she is more than understanding. GREAT TEACHER had her for two semesters!
Absolutely wonderful woman. She knows what shes talking about, its interesting, clear and very helpful. As long as you respect her and take the class seriously you should do great. She keeps the content interesting and the assignments are easily manageable. Definitely worth taking!
Lots of essays but she's an easy grader and pretty lenient with time
One of the best teachers I have had. Always answered any and all questions I had even if it did not relate to the class. Always encouraged me to follow my passions as well. She is a very adventurous teacher who knows more than you would think. DEFINITELY TAKE HER!
Just what everyone else said! Shes a nice lady and a good teacher. She makes the class interesting and is very passionate about art, and history.... what she teaches! Very cool teacher to have.
She is a great prof. Very into her lesson. A bit too much if you're not into DNY but she teaches you interesting things about NY and makes you go around the City so that u can have a true Discovering NY experience while doing her assignments. Few papers, final presentation, nothing too hard. Be enthusiastic, do the assignments and you;ll get an A.
She's a tough grader and projects are hard, but she's a good professor and you'll learn a lot in her class.
She is literally the easiest professor. As long as you do the essays that she assigns, you'll pass with an A!
Very professional, great person and understanding. Makes you have a greater understanding and passion for art and architecture. 1 midterm, 1 final project, about 4 other essays/papers about art/architecture. You definitely have to put in work, but if you like art, you won't dread it. Strongly recommend taking her. Great professor
Such a great DNY class. There are a lot of essays and site visits, but she's very clear in her directions so they're easy. As long as you follow her rubric and put in a little effort, you will get an A. Classes are interesting and Prof. Albert is a pleasure. Take her if you have the opportunity.
Personally I had no interest in this class what so ever. She is very clear and straightfoward. If you like Art, yes take her. Other than that she grades way too hard for a Discover New York class. Seriously its not that serious.
you need to put a lot of effort into this class, papers due every week or two, she grades fairly and if you put the effort into it you'll probably get an A, she's a really nice lady
SO MANY PAPERS. I would have done way better if i was interested in art, but i just wasn't. She's a hipster, and loves brooklyn and the city, can get annoying. She grades a little tough, but it was an honors class and i barely did the work so. lectures can be booooring. she can be kinda hot.
I loved her DNY class! It was Art and Architecture of NYC and it was awesome. She gives weekly assignments ranging from 1-3 pages long but they are easy to write because she gives a clear rubric. Keeps the topics interesting and shows she cares about the students in her class. I wish I could retake her class next semester!!!
She is a great teacher and gets you very involved in her lectures. Be sure to always ask her for help if needed, she will help you! If you're thinking it's an easy A, think again. You need to be able to write well. It's only an easy A if you put the effort in. If you don't, don't expect that A. A paper due almost every week but 1-2 pages mostly.
I loved her! She's so inspirational. Sometimes her papers felt like a waste of time but I actually learned a lot more than i'd like to admit. She also takes you to a volunteer site which i highly recommend you go to. All in all i loved her and i really got to express my opinions in this class. I say take her.
Professor Albert is wonderful. She is very passionate about the class and that definitely enhances the course. We had 4 writing assignments/papers and 2 projects, the workload is very manageable and if you pay attention and do your work you should have no problems. She is so nice and understanding & I really respect her, would definitely recommend
Such a wonderful lady. Her waterfronts class was amazing. Always got out early, a few papers throughout the semester with clear guidelines, but let's you be creative. Midterm and Final projects. No tests. She really gets you out and exploring this great city! Super passionate about the subject, and overall a very inspiring person. TAKE HER!!!!!!!!!
She's a very good professor. The only thing that I'm not really happy about is that she is a very tough grader. If you make at least one spelling mistake in one of your essay projects, you automatically lose points. But then again it's called proof reading it. I would recommend her.
I love love love Professor Albert! I took her for Honors DNY (waterfront was our focus), and she is the sweetest, most caring woman. I thought this topic would be boring, but her passion made it so interesting and I learned so much. There is a decent amount of work in the class, but I was so proud of everything I did, and I would take it over again
Prof. Albert's lessons are informative and interesting. She values the opinions of her students, so participation counts. However, her assignments are really time consuming. No tests, just creative/research assignments. She makes you visit several sites in NYC, on your own time. It's annoying and time consuming if you're busy during the week.
The class is generally pretty easy. However, she is utterly uninspiring. I havent benefited at all from this class. If you want to be truly captivated by a DNY class, dont take this one.
If you don't mind taking trips to the city every weekend and paying to go into museums you'll be fine. classes were so LONG, very boring. nice professor but the class was horrible. community service is also required so make sure you do that. no laptops allowed in class only notebooks. wouldn't recommend.
Albert is by far one of my favorite professors. She is the GOAT. She's so enthusiastic and is very easily sidetracked. If she likes your class and you participate you'll do fine. There is a good amount of work in the class and she's very picky about grading but nothing to be worried about. There is a lot of trips to go on but they're easy.
I liked her as a person! The course is pretty interesting just a lot of papers and research, but that is what Discover New York classes are for. She gives you 4 papers throughout the class and 1 midterm and final. Some of the assignments are difficult not gonna lie so idk if i'd take her again. She sends you at sites in NY which are fun.
Professor Albert is a very nice woman! If you do not have a passion or interest for art, this class will be super boring for you. I personally enjoy art and would recommend her! Many site trips into NYC. Most museums are free or have student discounts. Projects are tedious but if you put in the right amount of effort, this class is an easy A.
As long as you work hard on your essays, you get an A most of the time. She is also a very caring and flexible person. Do not be scared to talk to her. She is very open and is willing to help you out. While all the museum visits each weekend can be annoying, you will get the grade you deserve because she understands the work you put in.
Gives an assignment each week on usually a museum that you have to visit. Trips are kind of annoying but thats with all DNY classes. She grades very fairly. If you fail the class its on you because she makes everything clear & Easy. Theres no tests in this class. Also, very nice woman.
Prof. Albert is great. I enjoyed DNY with her so much, and Id recommend her to anyone that wants to take a fun and interesting DNY course! All of the trips were really interesting, and she makes her lectures enjoyable. Lots of writing and assignments but its nothing thats difficult. Shes so sweet and caring too.
Professor Albert is a gem of a person who is wonderful to have as she makes DNY so much more interesting. While I wish we had more field-based assignments in this class, Professor Albert made this class worthwhile and her lectures were enjoyable to attend. Her incorporation of her own life experiences also assisted in our class experience.
Professor Albert really opened my eyes to New York and the art in it. It was a great class, and she was really nice to us all. However, be ready to put in a fair bit of work for the assignments; they do require effort and attention to detail. She is willing to give extra credit, if asked.
Professor Albert is excellent! She is really passionate about what she teaches and really engages with her class. The trips are fun and relate to the material well. The assignments due weekly require dedication and time, but put some effort in and you will be okay! She really is a great, kind-hearted person. Love her! Take her!
She is the best! I am personally not into art and she makes the class more about New York. She is very understanding and wants everyone to do well. I highly recommend.
Professor Albert is the sweetest most caring prof I have ever come across. She truly cares about her work and her students. I was out for a week with strep and she checked up on me and gave me an extension whenever necessary. Further, her class was actually fun, she encouraged students to get involved and barely lectured. TAKE HER!!! Easy work!
This class was OK. Lecture was boring, went over a few 5th-grade level powerpoints for 2 hours straight. So many papers, she says she is a light grader but she really isn't. Sometimes won't say what she's taking points off for. She's a nice person but her class is just not great at all. Some assignments are also extremely off-topic of the course.
She's gives clear instructions for building websites, outlining what to include. The course has one final presentation, but it's a voice-over for slides, and she's the only one who listens to it. The class visits two NYC museums, and you get a free metro card for the trips. It's a great mix of practical learning and hands-on experiences.
You can tell she likes what she's teaching. Trips are fun as long as you have someone to go with and she's accommodating to those who are not free on Saturdays. Projects due almost every class but they aren't difficult at all. Learn to use Jstor. I will say shes never given me a 100 in an assignment but still passed with a 90+ grade.
Homework basically every class. RARELY GIVES 100s. My highest was a 97. Expects A LOT from students. She is nice, class can get boring, but she let us out an hour early. PARTICIPATE!!! Do the work and try. Final was a slide presentation with 10 minute voice-over. If asked, she'll read your work and give feedback before it's due so you can fix it.
She gives out very good feedback and suggestions after grading assignments. She is always open to any questions about the assigned assignments and would suggest how to approach the assignment. Her lectures allow students to visualize and encourage them to give their opinions. The work is a lot but still doable if time is well managed.
I took Professor Albert in Spring 2023 and I keep recommending her to freshmen for this class. Her field trips were great and I learned a lot of genuinely interesting stuff. Her assignments are NOT HARD if you just choose topics and pieces of art that you are actually passionate about. I can say that I truly enjoyed researching the topics I did.
shes an amazing professor to listen to, and made class extremely fun. shes also really easy to talk to. but she has essays every week that arent terrible but its kinda hard to get a 100. she skims through them, and kinda just grades based off word count. so you have to go beyond to get a full score. otherwise i loved listening to her.
Professor Albert brings a unique enthusiasm to the class. The NYC trips are fun, and she makes the lectures engaging. While the assignments are time-consuming, the material is interesting. I found unstuck AI really helpful for preparing.
Great professor. Teaches in a unique and understanding way and truly cares about her students.
does not let you use laptops, phones, anything with a screen basically, if she sees you using your phone shell tell you to put it away. Other than that, easy class just show up and she cares, if you have missing assignments shes tell you privately. show up to class on time or shell get mad. few assignments, final is a slide show project.
Professor Albert is the best. You make ur own website if you have FYS with her. All you do is submit ur projects there and get ur grades back. She's so understanding and willing to change grades if you talk with her. She gives amazing feedback and cared about each of you individually, she memorized names on the first day and checked in,, Love her!!
I liked her, her lectures felt worthwhile to listen to. Attendance does matter and she likes to stay the full time, but that really isn't a issue because her lectures help so much with assignments. Assignments are lengthy and usually assigned every week (leaves space during midterm + final season tho!) She is really kind and understanding.
Albert is great I can't lie. Not much to complain about the work is VERY easy and if you're confused she WILL HELP YOU! Don't have your phone out and answer her questions and she'll love you. Very nit picky with grading, is the type to give you a 99.9 and not an 100. my A- is so annoying I deserve that A
