I took her class during a winter mini-mester. Now this was my first mini-mester and I thought it was going to be extremely tough, but it was not as bad as I thought. She gives you a good amount of time to work on all your assignments and does not make you feel overwhelmed. Overall I would definitely take this class again!

I have not been school in many years and decided to start off with a mini semester. I am very happy I picked this class and teacher. I learned so much in 3 weeks. She is very clear on topics and assignments and her notes and videos are very helpful. She even scans out of the book for you. Awesome teacher!!!

I took this course during the mini-semester and Miss Libby is wonderful! Her assignments are definitely a challenging, but she grades fairly. She gives great feedback and replies to every email. I took the English 1301 May minimester online. The course is difficult because it is a lot of work condensed into three weeks ,but it is manageable. Libby was always kind in her news posts and emails. She definitely cares about her students and wants you to succeed. Make sure to watch the deadlines because they can sneak up on you.

Make sure you know how to use D2L and you're familiar with it. The peer reviews were not convenient as you have to count on your group so I didn't like that. Other than those two points, if you do the work you should be fine!

I am not a fan of writing literary essays and compositions in general, but this online mini-mester was not bad at all! Yes it does move fast, but she's very helpful and clear with instructions. I was a bit hesitant to take my first ever college course as a compressed mini-mester course, but Libby was a very good teacher and communicator. ENGL 1301 in 6w summer class is freezing to me. Be ready to do assignments almost every single day and be careful to spend much of the time to check due dates to make sure you can finish it on time. She grade very tough with a clear guide, so please follow it to get the highest grade you can.

We had a weekly Discussion Post (250 words) with 2 reply posts (125), 3 or 4 essays, peer reviews, and 1 final essay exam. Nothing timed! Not an easy A, but you will learn so much!

She is extremely strict on attendance and being on time. She'll drop you if you miss 6 classes or turn in the 1st essay late. Doesn't accept late work. Each essay had a peer review and it's a huge part of the grade that can't be made up if you miss that class. She made us write an apology letter to her daughters for time spent grading our work.

The teacher for this course, Elizabeth Bennett, prefers to go by Libby. She gives great feedback and suggestions for all the papers, quizzes, and discussion boards we completed each week. Participation in the discussion boards was mandatory, and if you missed more than two in a row she will drop you. The DBs are how she counts attendance.

Professor Bennett's class was a great choice for me to take this semester for ENGL 1301, I very much enjoyed her class. You do have to make sure you stay on top of your assignments and especially do well on your essays for this class. She teaches and explains how to be successful when writing these essays, and she is super helpful!

I have had a hard time tacking English courses in the past Prof. Bennett makes it super fun and easy.

Lectures are short, they never last longer than an hour. There is a lot of work done in class to prep for the essays which makes attendance wise. She cares about your grade as much as you do, so the class is what you make of it. If I had to choose, I'd definitely take her again.

Kind and funny teacher. Understanding in situations when you are unable to turn in work. Uses REVEL, physical textbook not required. Makes the class fun. You are allowed 3 absences with no grade consequences.

She can is funny and very good at grading your essay and giving back feedback. There was no homework in the class all you had to do was show up and listen. The homework is just read chapters online and do a quiz that's all.

She relates topics to real life and your future. She offers a fair bit of extra credit. There are occasional REVEL quizzes, so keep up to date with that online. Libby is a great professor.

I took Mrs. Bennett's online 3 week class and it is challenging but worth it. I had a little bit of trouble with figuring out due dates of assignments, so be sure to be on top things. I took 3 week online course. It was super fast. Assignments due each night, but totally doable if you work hard and complete everything on time. Elizabeth Bennett was a great professor, and I enjoyed taking her class. She gives her students an opportunity to do extra credit, answers all questions in her virtual classroom, replies to emails, and makes it easy to understand what is being taught. I took this online 8-week class for my English credit, but started 2 weeks late. This made it pretty difficult to comprehend. Though later on in the class I started to figure it out, and realized, though a lot of work, it was an easy, simple, and quick class. Took this professor during a three week winter session. As long as you have time to do homework during the holidays, this is a great class to get done in a short amount of time. The homework is very straight forward. Be sure to participate and do the assignments daily.

Took it online as a winter mini and it was easy. I recommend taking this English 2 class online with her. You only write 2 essays throughout the three weeks and the rest is discussions with few requirements and you take a handful of quizzes on connect.

Winter Mini, Pretty easy to understand, hard to fail unless you do not to the work, 1 paper, annotated biblography, she exempts the final paper. Opens the whole class in the beginning so you can technically finish the class in a week.

My major beef with her is that she is often not available, taking multiple leaves of absence during the 3-week period. This would not bother me, except for the fact she claims she doesn't take lake work, and that she cannot make "special accommodations" for health or travel reason. I just wished she would hold herself to her own standards.

Mrs. Bennett outlines the entire class from the very beginning and has clear expectations. Her online class was one of the more organized classes I have ever been in. This organization made it easy to manage the workload.

I took her for the 3 week mini-mester, there were a few discussion, grammar quiz, and papers and she does have peer editing that is important. As long as you stay on task and keep up with your work, you will be fine. The class is easy, but it does go by fast, and you cannot make up anything work because it is a 3 week class.

I love Professor Bennett. I took a winter mini-mester and it was the best decision. IF you complete all the work to the best of your ability then you will get an A for sure. She gives great feedback and grades super fast. I 100% reccomend taking her.

This class was difficult for me, but I think my writing got better because of her lesson. Discussion topics were interesting. I think we were learning more than just English, but also we were learning social life and issues. I enjoyed her lesson, so I would take her class again if I have a chance.

She waits to put in grades until the last two weeks of school, so be prepared for your average to drop by about 10 points (thought I had an 84 the whole semester and the final would push me to an A, but I was wrong). I ended up with a 75. Retaking the course.

I really enjoyed having Libby. I took an online, over the summer course to clear my schedule for senior year and I am very happy with the results. I passed the class with a 98% and exempt from the Final Exam (which is the only test you'll ever take in that class). The Discussion Board was a really neat thing because students shared views. 20/10 :)

Professor Bennett is a great teacher. If you do your work on time and put effort into the things you turn in, you will receive the grade you deserve.

A really good class to be in! Libby grades fairly, gives good feedback, and seems super chill. You can't expect any class to be super easy considering we do a semester in 6 weeks, but for the amount of work we got it was doable. I love English so the class was fun for me; however, if you are not much of a writer doing online classes is not for you

Eh... I took her summer class and she was okay. Be ready for a lot of writing. The quizzes are super super hard, you have to dig deep for answers. Overall, Libby is a good teacher, it's the course that's demanding.

Great teacher and class. A lot of work but if you do the work you should be able to receive a good grade. Teacher responses quickly and really wants the students to do well. Course is well planned and the reading is interesting.

Professor Libby is a picky grader because she knows what she wants , so follow her rubrics if you want to get all the points. Overall , she is considerate and will do her best to help you understand the content. She replies to her emails in a day or so and she is a timely grader , so she gives you time to fix your grade.

Definitely, Recommend Elizabeth Bennett aka Libby at Lone Star College. For American Literature, 50 percent of our grade comes from weekly discussions about the readings, which are very doable. 30 percent comes from quizzes which aren't awful, but you definitely need to read the stuff to get a B or better, and the last 20 percent comes from essays.

Professor Bennett, aka. Libby was an amazing teacher and I highly recommend her to anyone taking English at Lone Star College. You do have to put forth effort, but it is not overly time consuming. Just stay on top of your work. Overall, as long as you follow her guidelines, an A is very well with in reach.

Professor Bennett is an amazing professor, this is my first online class and I was very nervous of what was going to come of it, but she made it very easy to navigate the assignments and i am very glad she sent out updates and reminded us of upcoming papers and assignments that were due. Overall i loved this class and i learned more than i thought!

While many college students think of essays and immediately begin to panic, this class gives you an ample amount of preparation. All weeks are planned by day and there is plenty of notice before each assignment. Grades consisted of quizzes, discussions, and essays. Overall, loved this class.

Libby was a fair professor. I personally think the quizzes, as well as being able to interpret the literature was the hardest part of the course. In a six week period, we had 6 quizzes, 7 discussion boards(which all required two responses) and two papers. It's not a bad class and it wasn't hard but the material could get tough at times.

This was my first Online Class and I'm glad I got to experience it with Libby. From day one I already wanted to go hug her and tell her she was the sweetest lady and I never even met her. Mrs. Bennett was an amazing teacher who had clear rubrics, an efficient grading process, and was easily accessible throughout the day.

She's a great teacher but she gives A LOT of work. I took her the in summer, and at one point I had 2 discussion posts of 250 words each with 2 replies of 125 words each for each discussion post, a 2-3 page essay, and a 56 question quiz all due in the same week. The work is not hard and very doable, but it is very time consuming!

Libby was a great professor and I 10/10 recommend. It doesn't take much to keep up as long as you turn in everything on time or even early. There's one quiz every week and one discussion board with two responses every week and two essays. The essays are only 2-3 pages in MLA format. If you ever need help emailing her is always the best thing to do.

I like the disscussion boards every so often but having them back to back gets a little annoying. I also wish that we do more in class discussions like previous years as it helped me analyze the books more.

I never had knowledge of basic essay writing until I took this course. She delivers well and in the online course, she doesn't give long lectures. We use the textbook, but they're pretty short lessons. I can do a whole chapter in about 30 min. She uses peer reviews for our essay which I imagine makes bias grading low.

I will be honest; I made the class harder on myself because of misunderstandings with instructions. Overall though I enjoyed professor Bennett and would recommend her to anyone. ENGL 1301 with professor Bennett can be an easy A if someone stays on top of their assignments and takes time to focus on their grammar.

Professor Libby is by far the best online prof I've had in my college career. She's super responsive and especially understanding. I'm in her 3wk minimester and there is alot of work, but its all very manageable. If I can do it with a toddler at home so can you! Def take her if you can! &she gives extra credit!

If you really want to learn english concepts in depth this is the class for you. I took it as a 3 week mini, during the holidays which made it feel almost impossible.

Winter mini it was very fast pasted essays due weekly but managable. She gives clear and detailed instructions. Most of all she cares about you and the work you turn in. I would definately take her again

Libby Bennett was a very great professor for me. I struggled hard in school and almost gave up. I'd like to say it was hard professors who just did not seem to care about their students, but she is different. If you are looking to take an online course Libby has to be your pick!She was patient, instructions were clear,and she responded my emails.

I took this class as a three week course. Since the class was for a short time, there was assignments due like every day in the first week. The other two weeks had less assignments. Libby offers extra credit and is great with responding emails the next day, she would email back after a day.

I took the three week minimester course. I was apprehensive of the course pace, however, I was able to manage the class while working a full time job and having a very busy holiday. She is great with communication, and very easy to reach whenever needed. Additionally, there are a lot of papers within a short period of time, but they are doable!

Does not grade in a timely manner. You have a 250 word discussion+ 2 peer responses 125 word every week except peer evaluation week. have 3 essays and 1 final (annotated bib). Was forced to buy the online book from her specific website for a grade and only used maybe twice.
