She is very excited about chemistry but can't explain it very well if her life depended on it! The class is alot of work, unless you already understand BASIC chemistry dont take her!
worst teacher i have ever had at tcc.
she is horrible. she is excited about chemistry but i was always sleeping or daydreaming. i did ok in the class but i would never take her again and you should not either.
really boring
Her teaching style could definately use some work, but overall, her tests are pretty easy. I read the book and got an A.
Far too unorganized. I completely stopped attending class and taught myself. I would rather chew glass than to wane through another one of her classes.
Was not clear at all in lecture. Make sure you read the book, otherwise you will get lost. Seemed unorganized.
1) Very confusing 2) Very unorganized 3) Tried to help but just couldn't
I hated chemistry in high school, but came to love it in her class. shes very helpful and gets realy excited about chemistry. i didnt read the book and still got an a! she is great!
I loved her as a person but as a teacher she is not that good. She knows alot about the subject but has a hard time explaining herself. I had to get a tutor . She is super nice and trys to help but you need to read and do out of class work alot to do well. I wouldnt recommend her if your new @ chem
sHE WAS HORRIBLE,...SHE DIDNT TEACH ANYTHING AND HER TEST WERE HARD...CLASS WAS BORING AND SHE ALSO JUST READS STRAIT OUT OF THE BOOK...DO NOT TAKE HER..IT IS AWFUL
Would not recommend this teacher to anyone...especially those new to chemistry. Sweet lady, just a bad teacher. Maybe taking up another profession would be a good idea for her....
nice lady, not the best teacher but she is slack on grading and if you go to every resitation she gives you ten extra points on your final average!
I have mixed feelings towards her. Let's just say STUDY STUDY STUDY!!! I cannot emphasize that enough! STUDY like you've never studied before. I taught myself. Her lectures aren't just BORING, but they are also uninformative. She keeps you very busy. oh and don't forget to STUDY!
. SO BORING AND TEDIOUS TO HEAR HER REPEAT WHAT WAS IN THE BOOK INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY TEACHING. MIGHT AS WELL STAYED HOME AND READ THE BOOK
I hated her class! I have an awesome GPA, but she was impossible. She wasn't willing to help and she is extremely pressed for time. Her lectures weren't clear. Unless you have to take this class, DON'T!
Very nice lady, but not that good at teaching. She makes you mad because she doesnt teach the information really well. Her test are pretty easy if you study for them, but you have to study!!! Not too stict on attendence, but hates when you come in late!!! Overall if your not good with sciences I wouldnt recomend the class.
BEWARE!! Ruined any interest I had in chemistry.
Worst teacher i have ever had also. I enjoy science but after this teacher I am re-thinking my major. DO NOT TAKE HER! she might know about chemistry but she knows NOTHING about teaching!
She is a nice lady but has no idea what she is talking about, or maybe it because she doesnt know how to teach it properly. Dont take her if you dont have to.
unfortunatly she is not a good professor! she does offer office hours but she cant provide adequate info about what she wants you to know in order to pass her test. the class is easy but her test make the material difficult to comprehend. BEWARE she is also A SMART ASS especially when she cant answer your questions. DO NOT TAKE HER PLEASE!!!!!

alright i made the mistake of taking her for my second attempt at 1045 the only reason i passed was the fact that i already saw the material seriously my test scores where as follow 68 62 58 and 75 i still dont know how i managed a c...Dont take here unless you have to and even then drop add to get out!!!
Dont take this professor. She is so boring and sarcastic and has a weir way to teach. She doesnt have an idea of what she is talking about. Everything i learned in that class was on my own by reading the textbook.
Normally when I have a bad teacher I can read the book and get by, but not in chem. You really need a good professor to help expain the concepts and she was absolutely HORRIBLE at it. She's awful, do yourself a favor and don't take her.
Don't take this teacher!!! Very unhelpful and unclear!!! She doesn't teach any examples and you have to really study hard out of the book to learn anything otherwise expect to fail!!! Also for the lon capa don't expect to receive any help from her!!! Good Luck!!
by far the worst teacher at tcc and should be fired!!!
Mrs. Pulliam really loved her subject. The problem with her teaching seemed to be that she would teach one class something and forget to tell the other class even though each class was supposed to be on the same pace. Don't count on her teaching the LON CAPA before it's due. Good luck!
I agree by far probably the worst teacher in the school!! She can't stay focus and doesn't make sense with anything that she has to say!! Don't even bother taking her because my class started out with 60 students and ended with around 11 and those 11 were just smart kids who knew chemistry all along!! DON'T TAKE HER!!!
She was a very difficult teacher. I ended up dropping the class because I couldn't understand anything she was teaching. The only way that anyone could ever understand the material is if they sat down with the book and taught it to themselves.
Very hard but great teacher. If you actually try and ask for help she will take the time to help you. If you do the work and actually study you can easily do well. If you are lazy DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS.
I really enjoyed this class. Before taking this I was very nervous to take Chem. Majority of the time, she was clear and thorough in explanation of material. With moderate effort, attending lecture and doing practice problems, etc, I was able to excel in this class. She is constantly jumping around trying to keep the class entertained. Good time
Extremely hard. Didn't explain things well. If this is not easy for you, don't take it! Didn't spend enough time on difficult things, and rushed through because she was behind, and forced us to learn things without enough time to grasp the concepts.
I thought she was a really good teacher. Ms. Pulliam was very helpful and really wanted her students to do well. I would take another chemistry class with her in the future.
Very hard teacher! She thinks that you know everything already so goes very fast! Does alot of the problems in her head, so shes very hard to follow! Nice lady outside the classroom but she cant teach.
This woman should not be teaching. I had a "B" in her class but she "lost" four of my assignments so she didnt give me credit for them and it made me have a "C". Going into nursing...that is not good. When I comfronted her about it she was short and very rude. Dont take her! She knows nothing of the material she "attempts" to teach.
Worst class I have taken at TCC yet. She was never prepared, very clumsy with the overhead and computer, her real world examples were crude at best, wasnt much help with questions, her notes were sloppy(handwritten the day of on the overhead). I love CHM & MAC so I didnt struggle much but I expect more from my instructors at TCC. NOT IMPRESSED! >:(
NEEDS TO SLOW DOWN. IF THE WHOLE CLASS HAS FAILED BOTH OF YOUR TESTS, THEN THAT SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING.
Beth Pulliam is a nice person and she knows chemistry. I just think that she has problems teaching the subject to students. When I was in her class and asked for clarification on what she was talking about, she could never explain it in a way that made since.
I had Mrs. Pulliam for lab. The class is easy to earn an A in if you're good at writing, because your entire grade is based off of writing lab reports. She's all over the place as far as clarity, but she's a really helpful teacher if you show interest in earning an A. I wish I took her for CHM1045 lecture.
She is a very nice lady, but she covers the material breif and doesn't go back over stuff. I wouldn't recommend her. Her tests are impossible, and if you do bad on one, your screwed.
She's not very clear when she is lecturing, but i got an A by simply reading the book. I'm almost positive that people with negative reviews are those who are used to having teachers spoon feed them the material. I mean, i basically taught myself the material, but it's not like its hard..if you READ and STUDY.
She knows chemistry, but she has no clue how to teach it. I read the book, but she still had very different material on the tests. Very hard!
NEVER TAKE HER, IMPOSSIBLE TO PASS, SHE CANNOT TEACH CLEARLY AND EXPLAIN THINGS PROPERLY, DONT TAKE, DONT TAKE!!!!!
She did not explain the lessons very well and she makes so many mistakes in class while doing problems!! DONT TAKE HER CLASS!!!
HORRIBLE! Her lectures are ALL from powerpoint that the BOOK writes! She acts like she's learning it too! No study guides, except a list of random terms. Crazy hard, take someone else.
Mrs. Pulliam def knows her stuff, but isn't the best at making it extremely available to students who don't get it. She does care though and wants students to succeed. Lots of office hours and is very helpful there. If you show up for class and ask questions you should do alright. Attendance in recitation mandatory, lectures aren't, but go!
Took her for lab and really glad I didn't have her for the lecture. She knows her stuff but it was hard for me to follow. I showed up for every lecture and had some of the other students/ my lecture prof help me. Wouldn't recommend her for lecture but was O.K. for lab.
oh, dear lord. She is incredibly confusing. She is scatter-brained. She knows the material, she just did not teach it in a way that I could understand very well. I read the book, I used the practice problems in the book, I got an A.
I DO NOT suggest taking her! She makes a lot of mistakes while she's teaching, her powerpoints are straight from the book, and she doesn't review for tests. She uses office hours as an excuse not to help you in class and when you really don't get something and she has to explain it more she gets really impatient and snappy.
I found her very hlpful. She really does want everyone to pass. She might be a little impatient but she will work with you for an hour after class if that's what it takes. Even though her power points come from the textbook, her lectures are more interesting than reading the textbook. She is also very scatter brained, dont expect papers back on time
Before taking Ms. Pulliam, I hated chemistry. The class does move fast & exams are challenging. Just go to class, do assignments & study. No short cuts! She knows her stuff, is nice, clear, & will help you. This class helped me do very well on the math portion of the HESI exam. Love chemistry now & would take Ms. Pulliam again for CHM 1045!
Power points are straight from the textbook. She is very unclear on what she wants on the exams and is bad at explaining things. If you like teaching yourself go for it. Unless you have time to waste in her office. Would not recommend her!!
Easy.I would take her class again if I need more Chem credits.Students who complain are just dumb, lazy.Come on, Read your book and do your work.Elizabeth is patient, smart, she gives group work, homework and it all count in final grade.Take algebra and A&P I II, before taking this class. USE YOUR BOOK AS STUDY GUIDE.READ, and do practice questions.
Great teacher , she's very helpful with giving out extra help if you need it. She gives out study guides that are extremely helpful if you do it. I made a B in her class. Just complete hw assignments and group assignments and make atleast a low c on her test you should make atleast a high c or a b.
She is a sweet lady BUT doesnt teach well at all, it was very hard to do well becuase of it. I do suggest taking another teacher.
Pulliam is VERY unorganized teacher, she doesn't even know how to teach a subject sometimes. She is a nice lady but if you want to understand Chemistry and pass, go with someone else.
Mrs. Pulliam what can I say I never have seen anyone this excited about chemistry before in my life she is the only 1030 prof before 5pm her tests are not something to take lightly,a lot of homework/worksheets regarding lecture which are helpful, you never know when we are going to do them. If you don't like reading text and doing hw don't take her.
Failed this class like a champ! She is very excited to teach but doesn't know how to. I had help from other teachers but still failed because she grades the work on tests and if it is not done her way its wrong. Don't take her if you want to pass the first time!
She's a good and smart person. I did not learn from her way of teaching. Had to learn everything from a private teacher.
I really recommend not taking her. All her lecture consists of are power points, which the book has made. She moves very fast through the power points and does not put them online. I only passed this class with help from the learning commons and self-teach. The only good thing about her is she does give you the benefit of the doubt when grading
I have never given a bad review before but honestly do not take this teacher if you really care about your grade. She is a nice lady but is very unclear and does not explain what to do. Prelabs are before you go over them. Lab reports unclear. Not helpful. Does not explain anything. NEVER RETURNS GRADES. Whole class did so bad. Im an A student too.
What is the world coming to? The Math & Science Dean need to wake-up. This teacher is awful, she give you the study guide at the class min & she makes so much mistakes on her PowerPoints. She is the only CHM1030 teacher at TCC. Her test is no joke. Do not take her, dual enrolled or finish all your pre classes before you jump in her class. Awful...
Very sweet lady but she is not the best teacher. You pretty much have to teach yourself the whole class. The class is very confusing! She will help you if you need it but sadly in my case I had to drop it because it was so hard and I was failing.
Worst professor ive ever taken half the class gets up and leaves half way through because she wont slow down and everyone gets lost DO NOT take unless you already have an understanding of chemistry
I'm always skeptical whenever I read a review of a professor on here, its true this teacher is horrible. She can't teach, she would be doing everybody at this school a favor if she just retired. If you cant get anther teacher for this class, wait till the following semester to take it.
Unless you can complete teach yourself chemistry don't take this class.
She is nice but her lectures are confusing!! If it weren't for reading the book I would be lost.
She isn't the worst professor but she is very disorganized, she helps but only to an extent and I would never recommend her to a first time chemistry student. I taught myself the material because she went on whether you understood the material or not, even if you asked for help.
Mrs. Pulliam is by far a bad teacher. Her lectures are confusing and doesn't stop to explain anything. The tests are hard. I wouldn't recommend her to a student who doesn't have a strong chemistry history. Attendance is mandatory. Ignored the previous comments here and took her class. I COMPLETELY REGRET IT.
This class is hard but doable. She lectures from powerpoint but the recitation is where she will answer all questions & help you w the worksheets given. There are pop quizzes but she first answers any ?s & will work through entire problems. Worksheet answers are given so you can check your work. If you can do the worksheets you can pass the exam.
Her lectures aren't very helpful and she doesn't answer your questions in class. Go to her office hours or ask questions in recitation and she will help you. Gives worksheets in recitation that go along with every chapter and posts the answers. She works out any problem you ask her. You really have to work for your grade. Doesn't grade tests fast.
She assigns a lab report for every lab. They are first peer reviewed and then you have a chance to revise before your final submission. She's an easy grader, but does not grade them quickly. She is very strict with dress code and doing prelabs. If you need help, she will guide you. She is much better as a lab professor than she is for lecture.
Mrs. Pulliam is very kind and will do what ever she possibly can to make sure you earn a good grade in her class. It is a difficult class, especially taking the summer express(DONT DO IT). The only reason anyone could fail is from the lack of effort put into the class. Its not easy but to me, she explained things better during her office hours.
She expects a lot from the students, her lectures are right from the book and are TERRIBLE, she is helpful in recitation but not worth taking in class.... Don't take her unless you have to.
Such a weird experience. Received a C in her Chem 1 lab, but when I took chem 2 lab @FSU I received an A... Not sure why she was such a hard grader considering that she barley knew how to introduce new concepts to the class. She is also sassy and a sarcastic grump. Went to office hours a few times, and she was pleasant so I think she's just lonely.
Horrible tests, most students failed the last two tests, but the good thing is she is the only one who teaches the class!
Take her if you want to work. NOTHING is free in this world. Only take this class if you like to learn, and you plan to major in science, medicine or engineering. If you read the assignment BEFORE you go to class she is easy to follow. Professors are there to teach you not spoon feed you.
worst teacher ive ever had. I took her last semester bc I failed and now I have an A in the class bc I have previous tests to study from. she is very unclear on grading and doesn't keep up to date on grades so you never know what you have in the class. I don't recommend taking her if you have any other options. terrible lectures too but essential.
She is the worst teacher ever! If you have her, drop her. If you have signed up for one of her classes get out now. She doesn't keep up with your grades, she is very unorganized and she expects you to know everything right off the back. She doesn't help you if you go to her office hours, instead she catches an attitude because you don't understand.
DO NOT TAKE HER!!! She expects for you to already know the material, she makes you feel dumb at times and has a bad attitude when someone doesn't understand what she's talking about. I taught myself. Very unorganized. Not to mention, she admitted that it was her fault that the WHOLE class failed an exam and didn't do anything to make up for it!
Teaches the class like its a grad class. Goes super quick over lectures, is super confusing, and never posts anything online. DO NOT take this teacher unless you have a very STRONG prior understanding of chemistry or are prepared to tech yourself from the textbook. The average on her first two tests were below a 60%.
Ms. Pulliam is a really nice teacher and is willing to try to help you if you are want the extra help. I'm not sure if it's the subject that is just really difficult or if it was her teaching style though. I studied more for this class than I have for any class. You will not pass this class without major effort.
She knows what she is talking about but she doesn't explain it well to students. Especially those who may not understand chemistry as a whole. When you ask for help, she answers sarcastically as if you are supposed to already know it. She gives worksheets and don't go over them as a class. Her test are hard!!! You have to basically teach yourself!
This is the worse teacher in the history of all my schooling and it is not an exaggeration. She doesn't grade anything timely and if she does then it wont get back to you until the day of the test. She give you little to no chance of bettering your education. I passed by YouTube videos on the topics and not by her fumbling around during lecture.
If you can take another professor, do it. Especially if chemistry is your weak subject. She had me second doubting my career. She gets upset when students don't understand what she's teaching and responds sarcastically. I withdrawal from her class, because i was failing, and took it with a DIFFERENT professor in which I received an A+.
Not a bad person, knows what she is talking about. However, she DOES NOT teach. Goes through slides super fast, doesn't explain problems and tests are difficult.
First chem class in college and I was super nervous, but the class was great. Helps you on the quizzes and won't let you turn it in until you've done it right, so easy A. Is able to recognize her own mistakes and doesn't hold her own failings against her students. Her lectures were great, and she always makes sure to stop if you're confused.
Professor Pulliam is an amazing teacher and really knows her stuff. She comes off a bit intimidating but don't let that stop you from asking questions, even go to her office hours (it helped me a lot). She's super helpful and really nice once you get to know her and I really recommend her as a Chem professor!
Great professor but she will hate you if you're always showing up late to class and seem apathetic to learning. Most of the quizzes are group quizzes and she won't let you turn it in until you've done it correctly. If you have her for lab she's tough on your lab reports. And for the chem lecture make sure you know your math for the tests.
OMG! She goes over things so FAST and very smart mouthed when you ask questions. She gives homework, quizzes, and group work.I studied for this class so much and still didn't feel good about it. She expects you to know EVERYTHING about the periodic table on 1 day. Hard grader RUN and take chem with another instructor especially if you hate math!
Not the clearest grading criteria. Graded harshly with the intent to teach better but ended up confusing people I suspect. I know I was confused as to what exactly needed to be on the lab reports.
She clearly knows what she is talking about, but she is not good at explaining things to the students so I would advise using the internet to teach you because she is not helpful if you do not understand something. Definitely read the book and use websites like Khan academy.
Pulliam is tough but fair. realistically she has to move fast through some of the material, especially in the begining of the course. i took this course 4 years after i graduated from high school (the last time i saw chem) and was able to do well. the lecture wont be enough to pass just know. the book and office hours will be needed but worth it
Terrible. Do not take unless you want to be taled to like you are dumb and be taught things that seem simple then have a totally different Exam that is extremely hard. She doesn't care about you and your success.
If you are somewhat intelligent and understand basic algebra you'll get an A. I would not recommend this Pulliam to somebody who struggles with math and chemistry. She is not a great teacher but her tests are relatively easy. If you remember high School chemistry you'll be fine.
I was never sure exactly what would be on the test. Professor Pulliam is a nice person and will help you if you go to her office and ask. Lots of homework problems. The lectures go really fast and its assumed you know certain things, so if you don't read the book ahead of time you'll be lost. This is sort of a weird class and she does her best.
She is not friendly at all and if you go to her office hours its a complete waste of time because she has no patience and gets frustrated and rude if you dont understand her. She does not take the time to explain things thoroughly and barely preps you for the exams. I have to take the class again and Ill go to another school if I have to. Bad.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. She gives very few examples, lectures were all over the place so it was hard to know exactly what we were covering and moved extremely fast. Already a hard subject but made it harder. Most of my classmates barely passed and did so by teaching themselves.
Unless youre a chemist who already knows everything there is to know about the subject, do yourself a favor and get yourself a different professor
Cannot stress this enough, always be AHEAD on reading chapters, or you will be lost. Especially because the lectures don't really teach you anything.
Dr. Pulliam cares a lot about her students. However, if you're struggling the best thing to do is to go see her personally during her office hours. She explains things really well one on one. Also, be prepared to read the lab's before doing them she expects you to know what to do.
Let me begin by saying I am in week 3 of this class and I am already not passing. I have never studied more for any class in my life and its only been such a short time. She does not teach. Period. If you are super duper smart and can teach yourself then you will be fine. I would not recommend this class to anyone ever.
Professor Pulliam was hard, not going to lie. This was by far the hardest class I've taken at TCC. But, if you go to class, GO TO EVERY EVERY RECITATION, and go to her office hours when you have trouble you can easily get at least a B in this class. The recitation worksheets are the best study guides for the exams.
Professor Pulliam is way behind on grading. The semester is over and well over half of our grades are missing. At this point, there is no way to improve.
I took her Chem1030 class with no prior chemistry experience. I passed with a B but you really have to work for it. Mostly dedicating the time to read the textbook. She gives brief outlines for what to expect on the exams. If you dont have time to dedicate or hate reading a textbook dont take this class.
explaining subjects can sometimes be really tough to get a solid answer out of her
currently in now its a lot of work for 1 credit hour your typing up a lot of reports and at home projects your bringing the papers to class for a grade and still have to upload it online grades r due on the 6th I'm still missing a lot of grades she haven't put in yet. you have to look up thought questions that have nothing to do with the assignment
the online homework is not worth that many points get the answer wrong that's -3% each time u put in the wrong answers. the quizzes are worth 100 the review has nothing to do with the quiz and the book doesn't help with the homework at all
CHM1030 is a hard class. I emailed Pulliam a lot and she was always helpful and encouraging, which I really liked. You get multiple attempts at each HW question but for each wrong answer points are deducted. Homeworks count as an exam grade so if you do well on those it will really help you. Tests are hard, but the powerpoints help a lot
Horrible professor. She rambles on the whole time and doesn't take her time to explain stuff. If she doesn't know the answer to a student's question and she says "its not on the test don't worry" when the question is important. Homework sucks and tests are hard. She also doesn't tell you whats wrongs on exam but expects you to know correct answer.
OF COURSE THE COURSE IS HARD ESPECIALLY IF YOUR TAKING IT OVER THE SUMMER EXPRESS DUH!! I failed miserably at judging her by these comments. If you don't utilize your resources as well as her office hours then dont expect a the grade you think you deserve!n Homework does suck and the test are NOT that bad! YOU HAVE TO STUDY AND ASK QUESTIONS!
Professor Pulliam is so great! She really cares about her students and want them to understand the concept shes teaching. You definitely have to ask questions!!! Visit her office hours as needed.
Not a good professor. I earned an A in her class, but not without working for it! I basically read the entire textbook and spent hours on homework. Tests are actually not that bad. The lectures are boring and unhelpful, I basically watched youtube videos to teach myself. Only take her if you are willing to put in the work otherwise you won't pass.
This class is a prereq for most health care programs--anyone who says this class is hard is in for a shock once theyre accepted. Minimal effort is needed to do well. Taught myself from book. Homework answers are in the book. The tests could not be easier/more straight fwd. She offers office hours and PLENTY of extra points. You have to try to fail
Don't take this class if your desire is to pass. Lectures are unorganised and difficult to understand. Absolutely hated the class and although she is accessible outside of class she is easily frustrated by confusion stay away....
Professor Pulliam is a very sweet woman. She cares about her students a lot and wants them to pass. This class is easy, if you read the textbook, practice, and ask questions about the material for better understanding. She does take about a week or so to grade the exams. Everything is not on the outline or study guide so pay attention in lecture.
Mrs. Pulliam is a sweet woman. She really does care and wants her students to do well. I did not like the way she taught. We were often rushed through and it hurt my grade in the long run. If you have the time to be able to read and watch videos to teach yourself then this is your lady.
Professor Pulliam is a tough grader for chm1045L but she is willing to help. My lecture teacher was terrible and Pulliam came in to help me on her day off and is the only reason I passed chemistry with a B. Very caring and helpful.
Probably the worst professor I've ever had. Classes are all over the place. Everyday is a new lesson to learn with zero time to let things sink in. Solves problems for self. Does not wait for anyone in class to answer. Relies on tutors and using office hours to teach. Makes things harder than they are because she lacks clarity in teaching.
She is the worst professor I've ever had. I had her for lecture and lab and the lab wasnt so bas except for the fact that she won't grade ANYTHING until the very end of the semester. Her lectures were terrible. She goes through them way too fast and doesn't give you any time .to absorb the material and she never directly answers questions
This professor doesn't teach AT ALL. You have to learn the material on your own. I had to look up Youtube videos for the material to make sense. Takes FOREVER to grade assignments and tests and to respond to your emails if you have questions. When she tries to explain math problems, she doesn't really know what she is talking about.
This woman is the worst professor I have ever had. She looses papers, gives you incorrect grades and waits until the VERY LAST DAY of the semester to put any grades in, her lecture is awful, and her lab is subpar ,save yourself and DO NOT take her class it RUINED my GPA, thank me later
She is very understanding and empathetic!
Im not sure that its because covid, but we had multiple chances to boost our grade. Small assignments and worksheets allowed us to understand the material better. I just didnt like that when I emailed her she always seemed sarcastic and didnt actually address my issues. I wish I had done the homework on time because they were an extra oomph.
Overall, she is a good and easy professor. Although, it takes her forever to grade the lab reports. It's almost the end of the semester and it's still N/A for all the reports. Chemistry itself is a hard subject when you don't understand and she teaches based off of Youtube videos and peers.
This class is one you have to work for. She talks and lectures the whole time. It is hard to focus throughout the class. Tests are hard, study the study guides. GO TO LEARNING COMMONS!
This teacher is terrible. She takes forever to grade things, she can be VERY sarcastic when she responds to questions or emails, shes not helpful during lectures because she goes through things fast and reads word for word from the text without breaking things down, theres a final (cumulative), textbook is needed, HW really impacts grade.
This teacher is awful. There is no teaching. Takes FOREVER to grade and to answer emails. She thinks she doesnt have to answer you. Can be rude in emails whenever she does decide to answer. Lots of homework that is extremely difficult. She is zero help. Its a miracle I passed this class. Avoid her!!
I beg y'all to not to take this instructor!!!! She is rude. She gets irritated of us by just asking questions. She DOESN'T give us the powerpoints to take notes off of . Get ready to write EVERYTHING down and taking pictures of every single slide!!! Grades everything late!!! This year the class is called chm1032 general chem, for allied health
This class has been miserable. She does not post any lectures, lessons, tips... nothing. She gives you a book with weekly homework assignments (included with the book) and then tests you on it. Be ready to teach yourself this complicated subject. You basically won't have a teacher and won't know your grade until the end of the semester.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! I DIDNT GET INTO DENTAL HYGIENE PROGRAM BECAUSE OF THIS WOMAN!The reason I didn't get into dental hygiene program was because of my C in Chem this prev. semester. This professor does not post any of the lecture videos, and grades absolutely NOTHING till the end of the semester so you have no idea what grade ur gonna get.
This professor just posted PowerPoints straight from the book. She does not even posts helpful hints or videos explaining or breaking down the concepts. She posted 4 assignments the week of finals at the last minute. We had help from a tutor in the learning commons who would do reviews before each test that she would not even bother to do herself.
Gives a lot of math leading up to test. She gives 0 study guides, no help videos on homework, no help module or any insight into how to pass. By the withdraw deadline neither test was graded and I had to zoom her to figure out if I need to drop on the last day. Class and office hours is all the help she really gives. Nice lady though
The professor is very nice but I can tell she is swamped. I have no idea what my grade is because none of my lab reports have grades on them and I finished the class two weeks ago. I wish she was more involved and stayed on top of grading. This class was very stressful when it shouldn't have been. If you can choose a different professor I would.
Horrible, was never prepared for labs, always late to class and was never set up, never grades assignments on time, unorganized, should not be teaching college level students.
If you can take another instructor or look for express classes. This was the worse instructor I've ever had, she makes you memorize EVERYTHING
This professor is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! RUN away from her class! Its not worth the headache at all! Shes rude, and teaches horribly!
I had this professor for both lecture and lab and she caused me so much stress the whole semester. She takes forever to grade exams and lab reports so you don't know your grade until the end of the semester. I had to teach myself the majority of this course and spent hours in the learning commons for help. I would not recommend this professor.
She is great professor but please read the material before class. To fully understand what's going on the class you have to read the book before the lecture. She gives you plenty of practice assignments for grades. Don't be afraid to ask questions she may seem unapproachable but she is very helpful.Great professor.
Read Read Read!!!!! Ask questions. I found it much easier to understand when I read the material before I went to class. Yes she read off the power point but she will answer your question and explain. She gives extra practice and it's graded but you can work on it as a group. YouTube also helps with the Math parts but she is a good professor.
Overall, the class pacing schedule was good. There was quite a lot of group projects, and she puts extra credit into the exams. She does expect you to know everything off the bat. But if you read the textbook and take the time to study other things outside of her class material, you'll be okay. Office hours are pretty reasonable.
Horrible does not teach or post lectures
