The class was decent. It's a lot of material and you won't get through the class without studying. There are 3 exams, including the final (not cumulative) and about 10-15 quizzes, once a week, but you only keep the 10 highest grades. You will learn your stuff.
This class was very straight forward and pretty easy if you study at all. There are weekly quizzes but they do not cover too much information, and she drops your lowest quiz scores. She also gives you a few opportunities to earn some extra credit points. The exams mainly come from the weekly quizzes. She is friendly and not bad on the eyes either
TAKE MRS BREITBACH! The tests are not hard as long as you study a little bit, same with the quizzes. By the end of the class you will know your stuff about economics. You can tell how much she loves the subject, and is super helpful if you go to her office. Drops lowest quizzes and do not buy the book, she gives you slides to fill in the blanks!
Just study the text book and show up to class on quiz and exam days and you'll at least pass. Super easy. Nice teacher too.
Great teacher! She loved what she was teaching and made sure everyone was clear on what she said. She gave quizzes once a week but ended up dropping a few of them. There were 3 tests that were almost like the quizzes. She held virtual office hours every week for extra help. She was GREAT!! Take her if you can!!! You also don't need the book!
Everyone should take her. She's super nice and knows everything she's talking about. You don't have to go to class but it's recommended because that's where you get all the material you need to study for quizzes and exams. I studied for 30-40 minutes before each quiz and got a perfect score almost every time. TAKE HER
Take her if you can. The class was very interesting, and she always would relate concepts to her personal experiences. Just print the slides prior to class, and simply fill in the blanks on her slides. She drops several quizzes, which put me over a 100 average. Just study the slides and the quizzes and the tests will be a breeze.
Mrs. Breitbach is one of the most passionate teachers about a subject I have ever seen. To the point where you want to pay attention so that you can figure out what its all about. She can relate to the younger population of college students and understands how to make it interesting. She has online hours even on weekends. She cares about students.
really passionate teacher that is willing to help. take her if you want to understand econ and have an easy class. no textbook needed
PROS: I couldn't have wished for a better econ teacher. She was so awesome because she wanted to help you succeed. CONS: It's a lot of material and you won't get through the class without studying. No homework, but the weekly quiz. 3 exams, including the final (not cumulative).
Absolutely terrible professor. Decent person, but awful educator.
Dr. B was an Amazing professor! The best professor I have had since being in college. She is very helpful and her class is very interesting. The content is not the easiest to comprehend but if you go to class, take notes and do virtual hours economics will become another language for you! Online quizzes hard, so study but test are a breeze!
Great teacher but doesn't round up at all so that's annoying and shes the only Econ teacher with Friday classes so ...
This class was terrible. I've never with drawled from a class until I took her. Quiz's are timed and you have to make sure you watch the modules before hand or you won't even make a 50. I never passed a quiz out of the 5 I took.... this is coming from someone who made an A in econ in High School. She should not be an intro teacher.
First exam: I attended all classes, took notes, & made a C+. Last 2 exams: I attended NO classes, made Bs. See the trend here? Her lectures actually confused me more than they helped me. She's a very annoying speaker and she makes simple concepts seem extremely complicated. If you're good at teaching yourself I would take her class and never attend
She's a good teacher who really cares about her students and wants you to learn the material. This was the first Econ class I ever had and I made an A, but I worked for it. There are 3 tests and online quizzes(which are tricky) but she gives extra credit for attendance. Definitely would take her again if I had the chance.
You get out early a lot. The online quizzes are tricky but as long as you get 8s out of 10 on them you're good. She drops 3-4 of the quizzes. I don't pay attention in class and just learn it before the tests from her power points. A lot of my friends did bad but its because they didnt study in a good way. Do Iclicker questions.
Easy class. She puts the notes online and you fill in blanks during class. Attend class, unless you really can't. She does iclicker questions for extra credit and many are similar to test questions. Online quizzes once a week that aren't that difficult and she drops 3-4 quizzes. Non-cumulative final. Take her if you can.
I loved this professor! She really like being an innovative teacher and would look for ways that everyone could learn. She had weekly quizzes and iclicker questions to help you understand the material. Tests aren't too hard if you study. Make sure you do the worksheets and quizzes and you'll pass.
Even though there were 400+ people in the class, she still makes attendance part of your grade. She tries to help but her quizzes are extremely hard. I failed all the quizzes but got A's on the exams. Everything is online though so it's not hard if you know your material. Her online powerpoints never went into detail, the book helped me more.
Unreasonable deadlines for online material that require internet connection to complete without regards to whether or not students may have access to internet at the times she sets, such as a two hour window for an exam. Also, no making up missed exams or quizzes. Okay teacher, bit boring, but deadlines with little consideration. Bit stressful.
Put in effort to teach however, super inconsiderate of student's time. She would try to fit a whole week's "module" into a one day online lecture, and online tests HAD to be taken during class hours no exceptions. Refuses to work with students to adjust test times, often had less than 1.5 hours to finish. Doesn't care about students busy schedules.
The tests are online but you can't google the answers or really take the tests with a group because she will change one or a few words to make the questions totally different. Overall, a negative class experience.
Econ is a hard subject, but she does her best to make it interesting. You can tell she is super passionate about the subject. There are pre-quizzes and post-quizzes on blackboard each week and 4 tests which you really have to study for. She also does quizzes in class.
Do not take this class! She knows her stuff, but teaches the class like everyone is an Econ major. 2 quizzes per week plus questions in class for attendance and graded for correctness. It is not taught like an intro class. Lectures are very confusing. Also, the tests are all online but they are impossible.
I wouldn't recommend taking her. In a class with 450 students her expectations were unrealistic. She is not helpful and puts a lot on her TA. Everything is timed so if you are a slow worker then you're screwed. She claims to give ample opportunity to do well but you better have computer access 24/7 and if you don't have internet then forget it.
Having already taken macroeconomics (earned an A), I truly believe economics is a difficult subject you have to work for - she just forces you to do the work. It's a lot of work, but the lectures are very clear and if you do a little extra you can make As. She's always there for her students, too: if you need extra help, ASK! She's happy to help.
I would take this professor. She makes class kinda tough and the lectures suck but she wants to help students succeed and gives ton of resources. two quizzes a week, go to class b/c participation is huge proportion. tests are online and if you work together you dont even have to study.
Breitbach is passionate about economics and definitely knows her stuff. You have to work for the grade, she gives you pre-quizzes and post-quizzes and averages them out to be "module" grades. She drops your 4 lowest modules grades and will sometimes give extra credit on tests. The tests are hard but they're online so you can use your notes.
She is a wonderful professor. It's very clear that she knows what she's talking about and she really cares about student success. It's a lot of work, a pre and post quiz for every chapter and questions to do during class but it's worth it. Her lecture slides are online but not completely filled in so definitely go to class.
She's VERY knowledgable in the subject. The class is based around modules that make it easy to know what you're learning each week. She posts questions each week with the modules to set the learning outcomes. The exams are all online, but don't think that will make them easy - still expect them to be difficult and still study for them!
She knows the material very well. The tests are online but are extremely hard. She is not very helpful grade wise. Be sure you get well into the letter grade range that you want because if you have .99 of a point she will not round it up. She can be a jerk when you email her, too.
Dr. Breitbach is very clearly passionate and knowledgable about Econ. The test are surprisingly tough, but she goes out of her way (for a class of 425) to provide help, including an online Q&A before exams and additional learning resources. She doesn't take attendance, but the tophat questions are a not insignificant part of your grade.
She's very organized but such a hard class. It's basic econ that majority of majors have to take and she expects you to be an expert at it. Not worth it messing with my GPA for a gen Ed. She doesnt round up either. DONT take. Not worth it.
Breitbach is very average, her powerpoints are easy to understand, but she makes all the quizzes and exams herself so its harder than just reading your notes from the powerpoint. I wouldn't take her again, but i don't regret that i did. quiz due every sunday, 3 exams, and one optional quiz per exam that replaces the lowest quiz grade.
If you have to take econ 224 I would definitely recommend her online course! I have no interest in econ but still felt like I was getting something out of the class even though I wasn't putting in a ton of effort. You have a quiz every week, 3 tests, and 1 final. I only used the textbook during the tests.
I took this class online and did poorly for the first couple of quizzes. After I actually watched her lectures and took notes, I figured out the quizzes are a piece of cake if you do the work. Wish I could have her as a professor for all of my classes. Highly recommend.
I think she is great. She explains everything well. I took her online class and I recommend it. BUT you MUST watch the lectures if you want an A. If you rely on Google while taking the exams then you won't pass the course. I really recommend taking her. She is familiar with the topic she is talking about. 5 out of 5
She is amazing. I took her online class and it was 3 sections. Three exams and about 11 short quizzes. You have the option to take another 3 quizzes to replace the lowest 3. Also you can take one additional exam to replace the lowest exam. So you have a lot of options to do well. I really loved the class and enjoyed it. Take her
If you need ECON224 then you must take her. She is amazing and familiar with her materials. She makes Economics very interesting. I'd take her again and again highly recommended
Econ 224 online is great. She makes it so easy to understand. So long as you watch the lectures and take notes you will do fine. You can't find the answers online. It's a reasonable amount of work for a class and not too much IMO. She's very willing to help too. I would def recommend the online class if you are a reasonably responsible person
Easy, good extra credit
Watch the lectures, like seriously. Do the practice worksheets/problems. Do the study guide questions. And, actually take notes off of the lectures, don't expect to just absorb the information. If you put in the time to do the work, you'll do great.
This class was difficult partly because it was online and there's not much student/teacher interaction. Some test questions were easy, but some were worded in a confusing and unfair way. She was difficult to communicate with and often did not respond well to emails and questions. She seems like a nice person, just not my favorite teacher.
Mrs. Breitbach is a great professor! I took her online and I was so scared because I'm bad with numbers, but she was great. You have to watch the lectures, but you learn from her and not a computer program which is great. The material was difficult, but she made learning it very easy.
Do not take this class if you are looking for an easy A. There's six lectures and a quiz every week along with 3 exams. I didn't think this class was impossible but you really have to watch the lectures, take notes, do the practice worksheets and study guides or you will fail. If you put in the effort it isn't too bad. She doesn't round up grades.
She wasn't the worst professor ever, but she does not round grades - so if you have an 89.5, she will not round your grade to a 90. She does not help students out at all.
I thought this class was pretty easy, just time-consuming. You have to watch several lecture videos in each module (one each week) and take a quiz due by Sunday night. I'd take notes so I wouldn't have to rewatch every module before exams. Quizzes and 3 tests were fairly easy if you study, but sometimes worded funny. Optional cumulative final exam.
I did okay on the first module because I didn't watch the lectures. Watch all of the lectures and take your own notes (even though she gives you the powerpoints). After I started doing that, I started making straight 100's and 90's on the quizzes. Her lectures were pretty straightforward, but the wording on the quizzes can be weird. Optional final.
If you are not good at Econ DO NOT take this class. It is a very time consuming course and requires a lot of work. Would have rather had this as an in person class and not online. Her quizzes and test are not very straight forward.
Her lectures are not in detail, and don't serve much help on the quizzes or on the worksheets.
Her quizzes and exams don't make any sense with her lectures. She does NOT round up grades. I ended with a 79.5 and she wouldn't round it up. I don't understand her knowledge with that, just makes students hate her even more. Don't take her! Terrible professor
DO NOT take this professor, your grade will most likely end up right on the line and she will NOT round no matter how close you are. This class is extremely time consuming and lectures to test questions do not equal. Quiz and test questions are way too difficult for introductory class. Horrible experience overall.
DO NOT take this course if you're looking for an easy A. She makes this class extremely difficult for no reason at all. The quiz questions are tricky, the tests are pretty difficult and they are timed! She does not round grades up at all! Probably one of the hardest classes I've taken in a while. Try to find another professor if you can!
Her lectures are no help at all on the quizzes or the tests. She doesn't round or offer much help to the students. The test questions and quiz questions are designed to confuse you. This class was overall extremely stressful based solely off the fact that she purposely makes it that way. Good luck.
She is awful. Her lectures do not correspond with the test and quizzes which makes passing very difficult. Also she does not round up. I hate her I would definitely not recommend taking her class if you aren't good at ECON
Don't take her if you are expecting easy A. Some questions on the quizzes and tests are tricky and the notes you take from the lectures will not help. I emailed her for help due to situations that came up during the semester and she would not deviate from the syllabus to help at all. I do not feel like she wants her student to succeed.
Avoid taking this course cause your GPA depends on it! You would think her notes would help you pass the quizzes and test, NOPE. None of the material matches and I feel she is just making up material. MUST have time every week to complete modules. She's not helpful to students whatsoever. If you're at a .5 please don't expect her to round up.
It's a very time consuming class, having to watch the lectures and take notes on your own time. Also, her quizzes and homework don't really reflect what she taught on her lectures. I liked that it was online because I never had to really study and everything was open note and you could search almost all her questions online which is great.
I took Breitbach's macroeconomics class online and it was pretty tough. Main advice is stay on top of all your assignments a week before they are due because the lectures take a while to watch and take notes on. Also if you struggle reach out to her early on in the semester. Thought I was going to fail the class and ended with a B.
I'm not sure what I got into, but my adviser said I had to have this class. It's like Greek. It makes no sense. All these graphs?? I just failed the first exam and I studied my butt off. This is like 3rd year economics. Any advice with the exams would be helpful!!!
Don't take this class if you plan on making good grades. Her tests make zero sense.
Took her online class. She does not curve or change grades. She does give optional sections that you can take and increase your grade. Need to make sure you stay on top of all work. It is time consuming and not easy. Need to watch videos, take notes, read the book if you want to get a decent grades. Even then perfect scores are not always possible.
Optional quizzes help very little. This instructor needs to help not hinder students. Not asking to curve grades just give homework to help those who are struggling. Quizzes and exam questions - very little from notes or reading or videos. Run from this instructor!!
She doesn't care about her students. You can email her with questions for help or clarification but she doesn't respond with clarity. Don't take Econ 222 online, just take it in class. The extra time isn't worth the headache and annoyance that this class was. The online lectures give examples that are nothing like the tests or quizzes.
She's horrible, don't take her! Doesn't round up grades or care about her students. I took very detailed notes of her extremely boring online lectures, but her assessments were absolutely nothing like the lectures so I did poorly. There's so much work in this online class; I would highly recommend taking it in person with another instructor.
Not sure why people say she's so difficult. Watch the lectures, take good notes, and use them on the exams and quizzes like she tells you and you'll be fine. She releases 4 lectures with 2 quizzes and an exam every few weeks. There were 4 exams along with a final. She drops a few quiz grades to help you out. Exams were tricky at times.
This class was terrible. Her tests are nothing like the quizzes and homework. She really doesn't care about her students or their questions
Professor Breitbach is a very nice professor. However, there were many errors on the worksheets and quizzes, which was VERY frustrating. That being said, Professor Breitbach was very willing to fix errors & make corrections. This was a pretty good/easy class overall, but you have to be motivated & read the textbook in addition to watching lectures.
I took this class online and it flipped between her talking like we were dumb and between pretty heavy material. The online textbook is a good supplement. You have to listen to her online lectures. Test questions are straight from the lectures. I wish there were more notes on the lecture slides and less spoken example, but it's not too hard.
The only work is a short worksheet and quiz every week that are are usually straight from the notes, and then an exam once a month or so thats open for a few days. I usually put about 3 hours of work max into this class every week and have an A. She's a great prof, has in person and online office hours, always responds to questions and is nice.
I was wary to take this class online because of the reviews I read but it was honestly a great choice. Every week there is a worksheet and a quiz due but they are really easy as long as you watch the video lectures. I usually finished everything within an hour. Elizabeth also really wants her students to succeed. I definitely recommend this course.
I took this class online, and I would definitely do it again. The material is somewhat difficult but she has everything set out for you in the syllabus, and it is pretty standard, worksheets due one day, quizzes another day, and then exams every few weeks. As long as you do the work, and study over the video lectures you will get an A.
Was never good at economics, but professor Breitbach is amazing and made me love it. Her video lectures are so easy to follow and she is always willing to explain further and give more examples. Weekly homework and quizzes, super easy if you watch the lectures and take notes. Optional final exam. No textbook needed. Take her!
Although there is a somewhat realistic chance you will receive an A in the course, she doesn't round up, so your 89.5 will be a B+. Definitely rude and blunt when you email her about questions, if she responds at all.
Very easy online class. There is one worksheet and a quiz every week, I usually did everything in 1 hour for the week. Exams are also easy. Just take notes during her lectures and you'll get an A. I never had to email her at all.
NO EXTRA CREDIT. Your grade is your grade. Just listen to the lectures that she makes herself and you'll easily get a B.
As long as you complete all of your assignments you will pass. Take notes on the lectures and you will be successful. At the end she gives a few extra credit assignments to help boost your grade.
I took this class online and made an 88 on each exam. The final is optional if you have enough points. There are video lectures to take notes on. The worksheets and quizzes make up the biggest part of your grade and if you do fine on those and the exams you will get an A. Not that difficult of a class, if you can take it online I would suggest that
This class online is very straight forward. Worksheets are due every Wednesday and quizzes are due every Friday. The only extra credit is the optional final exam, which replaces one of your grades. Basically, your grade is your grade. If you keep up with the assignments, you will be fine.
Not a math person at all and I really liked this course. Didn't read the textbook once, only watched the professors video lectures. There is one worksheet and one quiz each week. You have the opportunity to replace your 2 lowest worksheets and quizzes and your lowest test grade with the final exam. Definitely recommend taking this econ online!
Taking the class online is worth it. You have a chance to drop your 2 lowest worksheet/quiz grades and use the final to replace a test. If you don't listen to the lectures, the quizzes and worksheets can be hard especially further into the semester, so just listen to them and take notes. You'll get a good grade! Worth it. In-class is much harder.
Weekly homeworks and quizzes. Tests about once a month. Make sure to at least skim the chapter while doing the homework or it'll be tough
If her annoying children weren't screaming in the background of every online lecture she would be fine. Will not round up grades no matter how small of a margin you need to get the next grade up. Try hard teacher, not cool.
She is an AMAZING professor. She truly understands the meaning of "INTRO." She makes the concepts easy to understand and her homework/quizzes/tests are not that hard either. Just be sure to take notes during her video lectures and have them in front of you for the quizzes and exams. If you have to take this class, TAKE HER!!!!
She's always available and super nice about answering questions. Optional final and optional final WS to replace a low grade. She makes the material understandable and intro-level but still goes into detail to make sure you understand it.
She posts detailed lectures/notes online and a study guide for each chapter. Master those and you'll do fine. 2 attempts per online homework. Exams are reasonable and totally do able if you get a feel for the material before you take it and take it with your notes out!
This class was required for me, so if it's required definitely take it online so you have your notes. For me, the work was hard. The way she explained it and how we practiced with homework, was completely different on the test. You really really have to understand the content to make an A on a test. Still got a B, so not complaining for ECON.
I loved the way Dr. Breitbach taught this class. Ten lectures per section, seven sections for the course. One worksheet and one exam for each section. All exams were open notes and drew exactly from the lectures (posted on Blackboard). Read, study, take notes. She's responsive to changing your grade if you feel like you should have gotten points.
Very straightforward online course with 7 exams and 7 worksheets. There are an optional worksheet and exam you could use to boost your grade at the end of the course. She is very knowledgeable about the subject and clearly knows the meaning of intro. Good choice if this course is required for your major as long as you do the work.
Talking to Professor Breitbach is like talking to a brick wall. The online class has one worksheet and exam every other week with 2 attempts on each worksheet. Personally, I would find a different professor that cares.
The only grades youll receive come from doing a worksheet and a test every week. Trying to ask for help through email is difficult, because she comes off as blunt and rude. Basically youre on your own in this class and your grade is your grade and she doesnt care.
Took this course online and it wasn't easy but it wasn't too hard either. Study and you will do fine. The material is from the book but be aware of how she twists words. She's more than willing to help her students and responds fast
Overall good choice! She was super easy to talk to and helpful to me over anything! 7 worksheets and 7 exams and then given 2 extra credit opportunities. Did not think I would do well in this class but she made it possible. If you do not mind online work- take her!
Class is graded each week by one exam and one worksheet. The last worksheet can be used to replace your lowest worksheet and the final exam is optional just to boost your grade. She was so kind when I reached out over email and replied right away. My grades improved significantly after I started watching the lectures rather than just the notes.
TAKE HER!! I had to take this class to fulfill the J School requirement and I wouldn't have wanted to take anyone else. So accessible outside of class and her lectures are split up so it's not overwhelming. She opens them all up so you can even work ahead if you want to!
Ms. Breitbach was a pretty good professor. Being online, all the lectures you just read on blackboard and then after every section you have a worksheet and an exam. So basically seven exams and an optional final. Sometimes she would leave things pretty confusing which would make the homework hard, but in general everything made sense. Average class
Fully asynchronous, only grades are hw and tests, I thought the tests were very easy, open note, straight from the ppts/notes/hw, final was optional, never interacted with professor
This class was online. Every 2 weeks you have 3 sections due with 3 quizzes. I was not a fan of the prezi lectures because they never made sense as they're completely different than what we do on the quiz. She talks pretty slow so that kind of bothered me. I just hate economics so that's probably why I hated this class.
I'm so glad I took online econ with Professor Breitbach! She was always quick to respond if I had questions. I heard a lot of people complaining about the workload and tests of their econ classes. You just have to have a decent level of time management skills to get the modules done and take notes. 10/10 recommend if you need an econ credit!
Dr. Breitbach did the online summer class for ECON 101, and her recorded lectures were extremely well put together. I never feel like I learn from async classes but I really actually retained the info in this one. Idk about her in person classes but even though it is a heavy load, it is really well done online.
Awesome professor, online class was super laid-back. You have 3 quizzes due every 2 weeks and 2 exams but other than that no assignments. If you have a Chegg subscription this class is an easy A, but the material itself was pretty easy anyways.
Probably the easiest ECON 224 class you can take. The prof is nice and she always emphasizes that students should contact her if they need help. You take 3 quizzes every 2 weeks, 2 midterms, 2 optional quizzes, and an optional final. I recommend buying Chegg. Material is kinda easy but you have to put the work in to get a good grade. 8/10
Dr. Breitbach is pleasant and responds to emails very fast. This class was an asynchronous maymester which means it was a semester's worth of content in three weeks. The content is not difficult, it's just so much at once. She's okay at explaining topics, but during some lectures, her kids scream in the background :( Get Chegg and you'll get an A.
I took this class online and it consisted on 5 quizzes every 2 weeks. Each quiz was on one subject, with 5 sections in it. It is a time-consuming class but if you spread it out, take good notes and do the prezi quizzes, it is not too hard. She is very responsive to emails and helpful with questions. It was not hard to get a good grade in the class.
This class isn't bad, it's just hard. It is graded by a couple things, but you get all due dates very far in advance. She even lets you take an optional exam to replace your lowest exam grade. I hate how the quizzes are timed, because 20 minutes is just not enough, but otherwise it was okay. Shes nice.
The only reason I would not take her again is because I am not an economics person. Everything is very well laid out on blackboard and pretty self explanatory. You get plenty of time to do the work but it does take a while so give yourself enough time to do everything. Hard topics but if you watch her videos they definitely help.
I took this class online and really enjoyed it. As long as you watch the lectures and take notes you'll be set. Also, everything is on Chegg so if you don't know it just look it up. Taught exactly what was on the quizzes and exams. An easy version of ECON if you have to take it I definitely recommend it.
Elizabeth is very nice, but the workload of this class can get overwhelming if you get behind. There are five units due every few weeks, with a test for every two units. You get two attempts on quizzes, but one on tests. Tests and quizzes are open note. Material can get confusing, so watch the lecture videos and stay on top of assignments.
DO NOT GET BEHIND IN LECTURES.
The class all around was extremely easy as long as you managed your time correctly. She allowed 2 weeks to complete what was basically 4 assignments that wouldn't take longer than 2 hours total. Would take her again if given the opportunity.
I took this class online and it was moderately easy. If you have prior knowledge of economics you will do well. All of the tests were online and open notes. The teacher was good about emailing back and communicating with us about deadlines.
This class is a great way to take econ if you do not understand it at all. Being able to go at my own pace and rewatch lectures has helped me to understand the material so much better. She provides abbreviated notes for each lecture and there is lots of time to complete assignments. Each quiz has two tries which also greatly benefited me.
I hated taking econ 224 because of the material itself but Prof Breitbach is amazing and responds to emails quickly. The content is hard and if you're taking this course online, you'll really have to pay attention and possibly use outside sources. But she does give you a lot of time to complete the material and there's extra credit opportunities.
Great class and professor to take online if Econ is difficult for you. Lots of time to get homework done and the video lectures were great.
A bit tedious way the course is designed but nevertheless is still solid. A few bad quiz grades out of the 20 can really tank your grade however. Still, a good enough professor.
I took the online Econ and it was easy. She gives a reasonable amount of work and provides all the information on power points
she never responds to her emails and is just an eh professor, kind of makes things harder than they should be
The people writing bad reviews are probably doing work last minute and are lazy because they think it should be super easy because its an online class. She responded to my emails, she gives you two attempts on each quiz, and the final and midterm are similar to the quizzes. If you watch the lectures like you are supposed to, it'll be easy.
I took her class online and thought it was somewhat challenging. I found her videos to be a bit confusing at times, but if you take notes during the videos it helps a lot on quizzes and tests. It is not an easy asynchronous class where you do not have to watch lectures so keep that in mind!!
It was a very easy class. All of the assignments were online and the class was fairly easy as long as you watched the lectures and took the notes. She responded to emails very quickly and had flexible office hours. Only issue were some of the videos, her handwriting was difficult to read but manageable. I'd take her again!
It is 100% self-paced with deadlines to meet. As long as you keep a good pace of the material you won't get behind. The exams and quizzes are online and open notes. Easy if you don't like econ or aren't the best at it.
Thought I'd hate this since I'm unfamiliar with econ, but Dr. Breitbach set up this course wonderfully. Provided a clear schedule with actual & recommended due dates. Ample time to learn lectures, & quizzes/exams came straight from lecture examples. So much easier than expected and she's great at teaching the subject. Super nice & answered emails.
The best online professor I've had out of the 3 years I've been in college. Clear assignment details, detailed lectures, welcome to open notes for quizzes, and an overall amazing professor.
Dr. Breitbach is fantastic. I only have a little bit of experience with econ, but I did very well in her class. It was a maymester, so very very heavy daily work, but her lectures are clear and conside, practice quizzes are relevant, and the exams are open note. lectures and good note skills are crucial!
Professor Breitbach's ECON224 class was well-structured. The lectures were clear, and the quizzes and exams aligned with the course content. Using Unstuck study alongside the lecture notes helped me stay on top of the material.
This class is relatively easy for an Econ class. It is a lot of homework due to McGraw Hill, but she gives extra credit along with exams. As long as you watch her videos and do the work, you will be fine.
Prof. Breitbach's class is pretty easy if you manage your time wisely. Her quizzes and tests are all open note, so the only reason you won't do well is if you wait until the last minute to do the work. You have 2 tries on the quizzes. She gives extra credit. I found the material boring, but that wasn't her fault. She respond to emails quickly!
This was the easiest economics class ever! Everything was open note and there were several extra credit opportunities as well! I would highly recommend taking this class for your economics credit it was the easiest.
I took the class in the 3-week winter term and did not find any issues getting all of the work done. It is split into four sections, each with five modules within it, and each module has five 10-ish minute recorded lectures. I was able to complete the entire course in two weeks. She answers emails pretty quickly and is helpful.
She's a nice professor, but the class itself was pretty difficult. Her online class is very organized, with suggested due dates, which is nice, and open-note quizzes/exams. The material itself is just pretty difficult to understand and learn.
Nothing wrong with Prof. Breitbach herself, very nice person in general. However, I would not recommend taking ECON224 online, it is super confusing and a LOT of work! It is harder to grasp these concepts without face-to-face interaction, and I am not usually someone who struggles with school, particularly with concepts like the ones taught in this
The most teduis class ever. It was orginized very well and see seemed like a good professor, but I found the lecture videos kind of confusing I wish she would have broken it down better. This class is very time consuming and just annoying. Each module has 5 lecture vids and a quiz due after and there is 5 modules in one.
The professor herself is wonderful, but you need to manage your time well in this class to be successful. It is 20 modules (5 lectures and 1 quiz per module), 2 midterms,1 final, and extra credit. It is pretty easy to get a good grade if you work hard, but if you have a difficult time with time management, don't take this class.
Lectures are all recorded and online. Five chapters worth of lectures + quizzes for each chapter due on three-week stints. Combine that with two midterms and a final (heavily proctored) and that makes up the majority of your grade. Study for exams and start on chapters early and you will be fine.
It was a good bit of work, but tests and quizzes are open note even though they are proctored. She had good lectures and provided practice quizzes. If you study and take good notes you should receive at least a B.
Took me about 2-3 hours twice a week to do. Very lecture heavy, and very repetitive in the videos, but gives videos and Chat GPT prompts for extra help. Quizzes and exams are straightforward, and you can use your notes. Overall I would have preferred this class in person, but I highly recommend if you want an online class.
The modules in this class were time consuming if you waited until the last minute, but the lectures were very detailed and helpful for the section quizzes and exams. The material is pretty easy to understand, but you need to watch every lecture entirely so you have the information for the assessments. Great professor and is always willing to help
You need to manage your time wisely with this class. I would do work dot her ECON class 3 times a week (minimum) 1 hr+. The exams are open note, they have to be typed or written out. So, just take good notes. I wouldn't take again just bc I prefer in person for classes like economics and statistics, but she is always reaching out to check on yall.
