If you do your homework, you'll do fine, if you lazy like me, better know your math...
Good person nice but does not know how to explain math. Often times when she works a problem on the board students will correct her. I would not take her.
If you do your homework (which isn't graded) you will be fine. Her tests and projects are easy if you know what you're doing. She will help you whenever possible. Easy A if you pay attention during lectures.
She is NICE but does not exlpain how to do the problem she just shows examples and expects people to pick up on what she has done. She moves on when only a few people understand what she has done and the rest of the class is lost.
I agree with other students who put emphasis on the homework. She is very energetic and fun, but if you don't do your homework you will be lost! Take her advice (she is the instructor, after all) and you'll do well.
carrico is a nice and funny teacher. she is very helpful and is willing to answer any questions or concerns you have about statistics. i took her statistics class this summer and it was an interesting class. way to go mrs. carrico
What a difference a teacher makes. I took Clark for statistics in the fall of '03, dropped that class, and tried Carrico this semester. It's a breeze if you do the work and study the book! She's helpful and it's easy to relate to problems on the board.
I took Carrico for statistics in summer '04 and I loved her!! She was a great teacher and always explained things well when she was teaching us and had us well prepared for our tests.
EASY IF YOU PAY ATTENTION. TEST QUESTIONS ARE A LOT HARDER THAN EXAMPLE QUESTIONS DURING CLASS I HAD 89.3 AND SHE STILL GAVE ME A B THOUGH
SHE IS A GREAT TEACHER. SHE GIVES A LOT OF EXAMPLES, AND MAKES SURE YOU UNDERSTAND BEFORE SHE MOVES ON. I WOULD DEFINETELY RECOMMEND TAKING HER IF YOU GET A CHANCE.
She is a great teacher. Her class is very easy. She explains things very well. If you are looking for an easy A, she is the one you want.
Great teacher. Test are a little bit hard. Her lectures are very helpful and explain the concepts very well. Also very helpful if you are not understanding something.
Her lecture was very clear. She gives many helpful handouts. But, her final was impossible.
SHE IS THE BEST TEACHER THAT I HAVE HAD. SHE IS THE HAPPIEST PERSON YOU WILL EVER MEET, SHE JUST LOVES TO TEACH. SHE GIVES GREAT EXAMPLES AND GIVES YOU LOTS OF HELP. BUSINESS CALC IS A TOUGH CLASS NO MATTER WHO YOU TAKE BUT SHE IS NO DOUBT THE BEST ONE OUT THERE!
Very cheerful! Very helpful and shows lots of examples. Makes sure you understand what your learning. Her tests arnt too difficult either! Great teacher
She is a very good teacher. She explains things pretty well and does alot of examples. She does "exam rewrites" so you can earn points back on your exams. She is very generous on partial credit. I do have one complaint though... She does not take criticism well.
This was one of my favorite teachers here...she knows how to explain the material very well..You have a quiz everyday but she doesn't collect homework. VERY good teacher :-)
great teacher. she makes this class very easy. very easy going. if you are taking this class...take mrs carrico
Best teacher at ICC. i almost quit school cuz of math, but she made it easy and I think i even got a B. She needs a raise.
Carrico made my most hated subject both bearable and kind of fun! We had to end class a few minutes early one time because of a joke that got out of control :) She is a knowlegable math person and uses creative illustrations to teach the concepts.
Best teacher ever!
great teacher, made statistics easy to learn and almost interesting. She is by far the best math teacher Ive ever had.
Explains everything so well during class that you really don't need to study at all (although in certain cases it is suggested >.<). One of the best teachers I've ever had.
Great teacher!! She was always willing to help anyone that didn't understand something and wouldn't move on until everyone got it. She had a lot of ways to earn points and raise your grade. Her tests were pretty easy. She didn't put all the hardest stuff on them like some teachers do! She's very nice and a great teacher!Definitely recommend her!
She is a wonderful instructor. Clear, concise, and very helpful. Just pay attention in class and ask questions if you are lost or confused. I took her hybrid-mini, and got an easy A. I'm going to take Math 211, and will definitely make sure I'm in her class.
never ans e-mails or returned calls, don't take her for an online class, if you get behind- she will let you die
Mrs. Carrico is an awesome teacher! I hate math, but she made it easier for me! If you have a hard time keeping up in most math classes, i suggest taking her. She gives lecture handouts and quizzes, which make the class easier to study for! She's funny, and she genuinely cares how you do in the class! I will take another class given the chance!
Really good teacher! super nice. explains things very clearly. Lets you use a "help sheet" on tests. Some of the test questions were a little too hard in my opinion. Definitely recommend for a 1st time calc student
I had her 1st time teaching Calc I, so we were guinea pigs. Some tests were impossible, some were too easy. Couldn't guage them well. She wasn't clear on all subjects. Treats you like little kids, but if you can ignore her squeeky voice, she's ok. I think I could've done better with a different teacher, tho. Maybe she learned from her mistakes. C+
Agree with above post. DO NOT take her for online class. If you think you'll need extra help, say, during office hours...you won't get it. Stood me up for an appt which she easily could have contacted me (had two numbers plus my email) to reschedule. Had to find someone else to help me figure out the online software. FRUSTRATING to say the lea
I was in the second Calc class she taught. I only wish I had her the first time I took it. She is a great teacher!!! She explains this in a way that normal people can understand. Plus she id sooo funny. Definately would recommend her as a teacher!
Mrs. Carrico is very sweet and energetic. She'd make a good kindergarten teacher b/c she acts like we're all little kids. Her class was easy and she's always willing to help you on anything. She's straightforward and a good teacher. Easy A
Mrs. Carrico was the most fun teacher I have ever had for a math class, and thank goodness I had her for my first semester of calculus. I don't think I could have made it without her.
She's a very bubbly lady. She's very friendly and tries to relate Stats to real life. I hate math and I failed the first time I took statistics. I however am doing much better in her class. Explains things very well. Shes quite funny too. You should take her class no doubt! And you get to use a whole sheet of paper front and back on tests!
Mrs. Carrico is AWESOME!! She is so helpful and fun to be around. One of the best teachers at ICC!! Do your assigned homework problems and the reviews in class and you will easily ace the class.
Carrico is one of my favorite teachers! She's very helpful! She's extremely nice and always has a good story and time for someone she has had in class! Highly Recommended
She is an awesome teacher. Very understanding and easy going. She's very willing to help with any problems and she is sooo energetic she is truly a great teacher. Uses note handouts which are very helpful. Tough grader but you learn a lot. Get her if you can!
A great teacher. she's kinda quarky, wierd jokes, but keeps your attention. She had a lot of tests, but over shorter chapeters, and you had a cheat sheet for every test. If you didn't get an A on the tests then you didn't try. She makes content clear and will help you. You do have some busy work with weekly assignemts.
Don't believe the hype. She help who she wants to. Terrible teacher.
online/find another teacher, she is nice BUT extremely unhelpful, you'd better be ready to tackle this class on your own! When you ask her to explain how to do a problem you will get a minimal response, you'll get more help in the math lab at the north campus.can not recommend her.
Attendance is a necessity
a fun teacher, a little odd, but literally a ray of sunshine every day. Quite a bit of busy work, but the tests are easy due to the cheat sheets. She is very helpful, I definitely recommend her
Excellent teacher. She was always smiling and kept a very positive attitude in the classroom. She would go out of her way to make sure that everyone understood the information. Very easy to work with and overall just a great teacher. Highly recommend taking her.
This class is very annoying. Attendance is required. If you don't show up on your first day, points are automatically taken off. If you're more than 1 minute late she will mark you tardy- and gives the class quizzes right on the dot. She is very frustrating to work with. Very Analytical. No freedom, no relaxation. Homework=very stressful. -_-
Take this teacher u will not be disapointed at all! I had her for stats 111 summer class. She is very helpfull, easy going and just fun. She's always smiling and is always happy, you can tell she loves her job. The homework isn't too bad and tests are very simple. As long as you do your homework and show up to class you will get an A!
Great teacher- so helpfull!! Not an easy subject and she expects you to do your work- but she will help you through anything. She is understanding and energetic!!. If the class looks like they are not getting it, she will move due dates back until she thinks you do. If you have to take this class- pick Carrico!!
Very nice teacher and helpful
Absolutely loved her! Smiles and very energetic everyday! Great at teaching and helping you understand. :) would recommend her to anyone!
I had her for MATH 115 and 111. I LOVED her in 115. She was fun and knowledgeable and the attendance thin wasn't that annoying, so naturall I took her for 111. It was awful. I missed the first day (ENTIRELY by mistake) and that alone has kept me at a B. She loves the subject, but the attendance is annoying. So are the homework due dates.
she is a horrible teacher. she doesnt teach you anything and expects you to know everything on the homework when she doesnt even teach it to you. extremely poor "teaching"
terrible teacher. she doesn't teach anything, so expect to teach your self some math.
Very strict about attendance. I went from a low A to a C due to her attendance policy.
Took mat 094 as a refresher after being out out of school for 5 years. She is very easy to follow. Uses math xl mostly. Don't use textbook at all. Very strict attendance policy.
I really liked her. Whenever I emailed her she responded. She is funny as well. When the class didn't understand something she was willing to push the test back. I spent a huge amount of time on homework but because HW is online and infinite tries, it's easy to do well. Tests were thought over carefully to allow enough time to finish.
Very helpful teacher, loves math and it shows. She will stay after with you if needed to help you with something you don't understand. Book is optional, offers online homework as a backup. Homework is solely for homework and homework is optional, not graded. She does take questions directly from homework for quizzes though. Great teacher overall :)
She's funny, energetic, engaging, very knowledgeable, and HOT. Math nerds...take this teacher! The material is difficult, but she works VERY hard to make it seem easy. It's too bad she's not teaching calc 2 and 3 too.
I shouldn't have been able to sign up for Mrs. Carrico's class. I was undereducated on algebraic properties but didn't realize it. I never finished Algebra 2 but here I was enrolled in an 8-week HYBRID precalculus course. I was failing at the start, but by the end I had an A. I wouldn't have done it if I hadn't been so encouraged by Mrs. Carrico.
She lacks doing more complex problems, but she's very easy. Easy A if you have good arithmetic. She's really nice, but becomes annoying. Attend class and ask questions, she loves when people ask questions.
Great professor, her expectations are clearly explained and the class is taught beautifully. Do the homework and the class is a breeze. If you do not have time for the homework, do not bother taking this class until you are committed. My class was full of naive 19 year old whiners that expected the class be handed to them, this is college.
If you are worried about taking Stats, do whatever you can to take Carrico. After hearing everyone tell me how HARD Stats was, I was hoping to squeeze out a C, and ended up EASILY making an A. I give her all the credit. She can be annoying. very. She teaches like a high school teacher. But very worth the bother. DON'T MISS CLASS!
I took this class as a summer www/hybrid minimester. It was fast paced but a great refresher to help me with the placement test. Carrico is very passionate about Math and will do anything to help students succeed! Multiple attempts to do homework and tests, allows 1 page of notes for tests and drops lowest 5 grades!
She is a really good teacher, you do have to watch her closely at times because she can be disorganized, she would often have errors in her basic arithmetic but that is forgivable. Note : Every question you ask is a "good" or "great" question, she always says that about five times after anyone asked a question so that could get annoying.
She's honestly a REALLY good professor. Love her teaching style except for being called on randomly by her ipad. She's always there when you need a question and cracks corny jokes non-stop that you can't help but laugh at. If you aren't good at math, don't take it during the summer or any short six to eight week.
Really good professor. Very clear and teaches very well. Cares about students and how well they understand the material. Has office hours and is always very flexible. Definitely take her if you can. You have to do homework and whatnot and it's not easy but she's a really good professor.
This class was pretty much a high school math review for me, but the way she taught some of the concepts didn't make much sense and confused me more than helping me remember, instead I had to go back and reteach myself. Not a fan of her teaching style, so I wouldn't suggest her. She has you read sections of the book before teaching.
She's a fun teacher, and I like her as a person, but her teaching style is annoying. You'll go over the very basics in class, and have random questions from the book assigned as homework, that you may or may not have actually learned how to do in class. If you want to do well in the later parts, get ready to teach yourself most of it.
Great online teacher. Very quick to respond to emails.
The way she taught was confusing and fast paced.
All you have to do is try. Dont take a college calculus class and expect to be able to sit and text the entire period or not show up at all. Shes a very good teacher who will go to any length to help you understand if you just put in a little effort. Wish I could take more classes with her.
Math 099 is a huge time commitment and it is a pain bc it does not transfer, however it still affects your GPA. I lost my 4.0 to this class bc the exams are hard to get As on. Homework, quizzes, and projects are all weighted the same and do not affect your grade unless you dont do them. If you want an A in this class I would take a different prof
WOW!! Please do not take her if you get a chance. She will have test/exams where you can't use your calculator on part of it no cheat sheets. Can't remember what she repeats after you make a comment but it's annoying. She expects you to be a math expert and doesn't build your foundation up for the class. If you're a Math Nerd you will enjoy her!!!!
Great professor! If you did bad in this class it would be because you did not care not because she didn't!
One of the best math teachers I have ever had! Very fair grader, no pop quizzes and no surprises on the tests. She even gave some extra credit on the final for a problem she felt she hadn't prepared us well enough to be graded on! Would definitely recommend her and wish she taught more math classes!
One of the best math teachers I have ever had. Would definitely recommend!
I never thought Calculus would be enjoyable until I took it with her. She is incredibly kind, helpful, and excited to teach the material! She was an overall very engaging teacher and was so helpful when answering questions. My advice: print out online assignments, do your work on them, & keep them organized. It's super helpful to use for test prep.
I've never done this well in a math class. The structure is the same every week and that makes it easy to remember when things are due. Also was willing to help whenever needed
I took a math class last semester and hated it, but this semester it was one of my favorite classes because she seems to really love to teach. She really cares and positive and animated. One of my favorite teacher from ICC, highly recommend.
She was so lovely! Not a lot of course work, and she was always there to help if you needed it. Online zoom meetings were mandatory when I took this class in Spring 2021, but it really wasnt that bad.
I LOVED her, she was so understanding and respectful. She is always willing to help and gives plenty of class time to work with classmates to figure out what you need help on. I made a lot of friends from her course, as she offers many group work assignments.
Miss Carrico is genuinely one of the best professors I have ever had in general. She makes otherwise extremely difficult mathematical concepts really easy to understand and she will gladly help you if you need. I would 100% recommend her. Her classes are very exam heavy in terms of grading but I never had much issue. Just make sure to study.
Professor Carrico has by far been my favorite professor ive had at ICC. Ive never been good at math, but ended with an A in her stats class without putting on any stress. I never dreaded going to class, as she had the best energy each day. If you ever get the opportunity to have her as a professor, take it. Shes amazing.
Professor Carrico was an amazing math teacher. It was very evident that she wants to help her students. She gave good explanations and always answered questions well. She also gave us good resources to make the classwork easier.
Professor Carrico was amazing! Math has never been one of my strong subjects but MATH 111 was definitely manageable ( I took this class in person ). Usually there was 2-4 things to do per week. Some were more time consuming than others. 4 total exams and 1 final. Highly recommend taking this course with her!
Hands down one of the best teachers I have had at ICC. I have never liked math, but would take her class again any day. As long as you do the work and listen to lectures, you will pass.
Explains things very well and takes the time to help when needed. All homework and quizzes are online. Class ticket due at beginning of class. Tests are over setting up calculations not actually solving problems. Only con is the online lesson before class; can be difficult to understand and answer questions about material before class.
I absolutely loved professor Carrico! Had to drop the class due to some family issues but she was so patient with me throughout the semester. Her lectures are very important to not fall behind so I wouldn't recommend skipping class. I would definitely take her class again!
Carrico was an amazing professor. I've dreaded Calc II since sophomore year in high school, but Carrico made it easy. Her lectures were clear and concise, and in-class group work in addition to online homework really helped solidify key concepts. 10/10 would take again!
She taught really well and the homework load was enough to learn the material but not so much that you would get overloaded.
Pretty tough class. She provided more than enough resources to succeed in her class. After a rough test she decided to give extra credit and revised the grading structure to drop your lowest test grade. Grading was weighted by 30% for daily work and 70% test.
I loved this class. She was very communicative, and answered forums and emails promptly. She also graded assignments very quickly.
I hate math, but she was such a good teacher, explained everything well, and I enjoyed how her class was run. You did get homework every class, but it was short and easy. Attendance does matter because that's how you get a homework grade. Class was easier than expected
Super nice and understanding about difficulties with tech or not understanding the material. Required 2 in-person tests that had to be taken on campus despite it being an online class. Provided tons of material for understanding concepts (videos, free textbook, etc).
Best teacher I could ever dream of. Calculus 2 is a hard class to begin with, but she made it a lot easier. Her lectures were easy to follow. We did a lot of group studying during class time, making it a lot easier to comprehend the topics.
