Do not get frightened on her first exam. It's only natural. Once you get used to her style, you'll be just fine. She's really sweet,and always available. If you were good at biology in high-school, it's a given A. If not, you can still make an easy B. Plus, it's worth taking her class just for her use of English :)

Took her for both 161 and 162 at first it was very hard to keep up with her but once you learn her teaching style she gets easier to work with.. u have to attend class and study her notes she does not use the text book. one of the nicest teachers ive ever had and i really enjoyed her though some might find her teaching style difficult.

I had her for both NAS 161 and 162. She is a awesome teacher. After getting used to her teaching and exam ways it got easy. I would 100% recommend this teacher. She is fun too. Another good thing about her class is the pictures she gives you for her lab (it really helps a lot for the lab exam). I don't think other teachers do that.

Bio is my worst nightmare, but professor Chao made it the best bio class I could have ever taken before. She is hilarious, she is great at teaching and makes it fun to learn. the class is not easy but she will inspire you to do well. lectures are long and sometimes boring but she will throw one or two jokes during it and will make you focus again.

Professor chao is such a great and wonderful person who not only help you to understand human anatomy but also makes you interest and show you the right way for your rest of the semester. she is very kind and always cares about all the students. Her lectures are designed in a perfect path that you can follow and keep up with the information.

She is an overall great teacher. You should expect that any A&P class isn't going to be an easy A. There are A LOT of things to memorize in a short period of time. BUT IT IS POSSIBLE. If you truly show that you want to pass the class, she will help with you with everything she can. Her rule is simple; If you don't read, you will fail the class.

This semester has been a roller coaster for me in general,Mrs. Chao has been willing to work with me through it all. Yes, there is a lot of work and studying involved with this class, but it's going to be the same with any bio class you take. Prof. Chao is definitely one of the best professors at NOVA. Her lectures might be tough but she is pretty fair when it comes to grading. Several extra credit opportunities including attendance. so be aware that you get to class regularly and try to show up in every class.

Her class can be hard, but a&p itself has a lot of information itself. You do need to be dedicated and be willing to self study along with the study materials she gives you. She might be too straight forward to some, but I really enjoyed her class more and more towards the end. I would take her class again

Over all the class is pretty tough but she is an excellent professor. She gives tons of extra credit throughout the semester. Also for the lab exams she gives you the picture that would be in the exams. She is overall super sweet, caring and super understanding. I would really recommend to take her class!

If you are going to a medical field, she will help you build a good foundation. Just figure out what to study for, especially for labs(study her pictures). Ask her for help anytime and she will gladly help you & wants everyone to pass. My bio 141 was way too easy but I don't remember much. So I think a little challenge is better for the long run

Professor Chao provides a lot of resources. We rescheduled some exams in the beginning of the semester which left us crammed and out of time towards the end of the semester. She is always ready to listen to you and help. Easy to reach.

Professor Chao is a very kind and understanding teacher, she knows that life happens and is willing to work with you to get through the class. In order to do well in this class you need to keep up with the assignments and do your part (studying and more studying ) Everything you will learn is cumulative so learn it the first time.

The labs are the best part of the Bio101 course. I love the hands on experience. Lab quizzes, reports, and worksheets are given, but they are doable. I don't mind doing them. Professor explains lab well, and provides demonstration if needed. Would take class with this professor again.

You will pass her class if you do the test reviews and extra credit. She has lecture quizzes that require you study and ensure you show up to class. Her accent sometimes makes it hard to understand complex topics, but is ready to help you in any way she can.

Professor is very kind and truly cares about her students. Always do test reviews, review powerpoint slides before going to class, and listen to her lectures to help yourself out with her quizzes.

Very lecture and reading heavy. You are responsible for studying and learning the material on your own. Her lectures and classes focus on the bolded important stuff that will absolutely be on the tests so don't skip class. As long as you study hard you will pass. This class was my most difficult so far. Daily pop quizzes were assigned in the beginning. Does not allow late work but if you have an issue and email her she is understanding and will allow make up exams. Total of 10 major exams five for lab and five for lecture. Study guide only covers half of test martial.

Professor Chao is a tough professor, but wants her students to understand the material, and does a good job tying the information to anecdotes. There are many tests, which are not easy, but if you do the online homework and study with classmates you will do well! Do the work and you will not only do well, but you will learn the material!

Professor Chao is one of the most patient and accommodating professors I have ever had. She has gone above and beyond to help me in and outside of class. She responds quickly to emails ad is more than willing to help. She really cares about you knowing the information and seems to really love what she does.

Professor Chao teaches one of the hardest subjects you can take. Its a very hard topic but if you put the right amount of effort it is very possible to get an A. If you aren't comfortable memorizing or haven't developed your study habit skills, this class will eat you alive. Shes a super caring teacher and kind, probably the best for this subject.

Everything is laid out in the syllabus and she follows it closely. She said students don't have time to read the book, but that is the only reason I feel I passed the tests. Homework is online and she gives plenty of time to complete. THIS IS A HARD CLASS! NO MATTER WHO YOUR TEACHER IS. Be prepared and take it seriously and you will be okay.
