This teacher is ABSOLUTELY BORRRRRIIIIINNNGGGG! It is like she doesn't even understand the material herself. Don't even do it to yourself!
She's so nice and so excited about teaching this material! The class itself is pretty difficult. But each test seems to get easier. You have to go to class if you want to understand anything. She's very good at explaining things and making it understandable to people like me who have no clue!
Shes really cool, and a great teacher!! Take her class!!!
I thought she was really nice and funny. Lectures were clear and interesting. I made over a 100 on the first test with her extra credit game. If you take the notes that she gives in class and do the easy blackboard homework, this class is so easy.
She's great and really interested in what she teaches you
This class takes work... It is not easy! If you don't go to class, good luck passing! She is a great professor and fun to learn from, but to make a good grade, you have to try hard.
The material for the second half of the class is difficult but she uses many different examples and will always go out of her way to help you if you ask. She is funny, totally hip, and cares about her work and students' learning experiences. I've taken two classes from her and would take more if I could. GO TO CLASS and you'll do fine.
she is a great teacher. lots of fun and she uses clear examples on how to do the problems. go to class because she discuses this that are not in the book that might be on the test. do black board assignments. she gives you three tries and they are easy points.
I took her for Psy 295 and I learned a lot in that class, but I HATED this class! She tried so hard to make it difficult as if she wanted people to respect her. She makes her tests really complicated and difficult. Even when I knew the material thru and thru, I still got a C at best. I didn't like the course very much either.
The class material is boring but Cooper is great. She explains everything and gives points on tests. Tests are easy if you study and prepare. Gives a practice final...if you have an A after that you do not have to take final. Loved this teacher!
Really nice, makes a boring class about as interesting as possible. Strongly reccomend attending, because tests are entirely from the notes, and they can be a little difficult to understand if you didn't take them yourself.
I thought she was a really good teacher. She uses examples that are easy to understand and really cares about whether or not students are actually learning. Alot of Blackboard stuff, which is an easy A, so do the assignments online early. Exams aren't super easy, but you'll do fine if you study for them ahead of time. I would definately recomend!
Good professor. actually cares about her students expects you to earn your grade though
She's super cool and her class is not hard if you actually attend. Her notes and her lectures cover basically everything you will need to know on the tests. Tests can be tricky at times, but overall, they are really easy and straightforward. I would definitely recommend her.
A fun class. At first I was really nervous it was going to be a lot of confusing material, but she made it clear and very easy. The proposal seemed scary at first but she broke it down and it was a breeze. Just make sure you do your references page well-very strict on plagiarism. Super cool and fun lady, open to ideas.
I love her. She is really cool and smart. She is very enthusiastic and helpful with her students. I have taken her for two different psych. classes because I did enjoy her teaching. Her tests can be tricky but going to class is key to succeeding. She gives detailed examples which students can relate to. Take any of her classes- she is great! :)
She is a great teacher, but you have to read the book to do really well. I like her teaching and her teaching style, but her tests are just so hard that it makes you want to give up. Her homework (30%) of your grade will only help you so much. Be prepared to work and know the material very well for the tests. Otherwise, I like her!!
Dr Cooper is an excellent lecturer who uses clear examples to illustrate ideas. She's super-helpful outside of class, and really cares about her students. Take lots of notes in class and skim the book before exams for extra help. But BEWARE: her tests are not about rote memorization--you MUST UNDERSTAND the material and how to apply the examples.
AMAZING!!! Such a great teacher!! Exceptionally helpful, really wants you to understand and do well! I would recommend her class to anyone - even as a Gen. Ed. just because I love Dr. Cooper so much! I go to class every single day just because I like it!! She even allowed me to make up a missed homework because I go everyday and participate. GREAT!
This class was awesome!! She is very clear on the material and it is obvious she wants you to do well. I had no qualms about this class and will definitely take her again.
Dr. Cooper is a very uptight person who says that even if you are .10 away from an A you should have worked .10% harder during the semester. This aside, she is helpful and wants you to succeed but she isn't going to do the work for you. Put your big girl/boy shorts on and do the work. But an A is not going to be easy to get.Trust me and do your hmwk
What can i say? She does her job as she is supposed to. Must go to class, textbook use is very low. your grade in the class will probably be a reflection of class attendance. an A is very attainable if you do the simple online hw( multiple attempts), particpate in extra credit the class before the test and do well on the test which are too bad.
Well she's definitely a tough cookie, but she seems to want you to do well nonetheless. You must attend class to succeed. The online homeworks aren't hard and you get multiple attempts. Overall, she definitely knows her stuff and is an ok teacher.
Overall Dr. Cooper makes the class material fun, exciting, and explains things clearly. However, when it comes down to her tests, they are very tricky. There is no attendance policy and no extra points for going to class or anything. Take at own risk!
She's hard. She doesn't care how hard you work. She gives no points to help you out if you need it. The material isn't hard, but her tests are ridiculous and extremely tricky. Attendence isn't mandatory, but is necessary to do well.
Dr. Cooper is a great teacher. You obviously need to go to class to understand everything she explains. She has a lot of "practice" days & hand outs which help you understand material better. Pay attention & study, go to the Jeopardy days before tests & you have a chance for EC on the tests. She's very helpful if you have questions, just speak up!
This teacher is not willing to help and if a student has a problem, she doesn't care. She knows the material well, but makes everything as hard as she possibly can. If you can take someone else, do it!
This class was pretty easy and she makes it so easy to learn the material and do well on the exams. You do have to remember to keep up with the weekly online quizzes but she's an awesome professor and I highly recommend this class!
Her ratings are very misleading. She is a bad professor and a heartless ice queen. Tests don't make any sense and she is condescending and will try to embarrass you if you get a question wrong in class. (maybe not meaning too but she comes off as very mean)
Either you like her class or you don't. She uses a lot of group work and practice which can be very helpful but there aren't a lot of notes. You have to go to class to get a good grade! She seems a little intimidating at first but she is actually very nice. The paper can be hard, but it's good preparation for grad school so I recommend this class.
I had Dr.Cooper for Psychology 310 and Psychology 395. Psychology 310 is not too difficult if you go to class, take notes, read the book and study. An A is feasable. In 395 we used the book rarely. I did not buy the most expensive book. Dr. Cooper gives great examples in both classes and is a great professor. Also an A is feasable in 395.
I really enjoyed her class! She knows her stuff and as long as you attend class and study well enough to know how to identify the concepts through examples you can get a good grade. She is helpful if you are having problems with the material. I learned a lot in her class through her examples. I would definitely take another class with her.
Prof. Cooper was a pretty decent professor. She covers a lot of material, so you need to come to class. I also definitely recommend reading the book as well if you plan on making A's. Overall, she was helpful and explained the topics pretty clearly. I would recommend her.
Dr. Cooper is HILARIOUS. She comes up with THE craziest (but helpful) examples and stories. She gives a lot of information and her tests can be tricky but she is always willing to help you out in office hours. If you're not willing to put effort into reading/studying, don't take her.
She is so funny and really knows her stuff. You should really go to class, you learn a lot and she gives a lot of examples. I didn't use the textbook much. She talks about how her tests are tricky but as long as you know the material they are pretty easy. I would take her again
Dr. Cooper is super nice. She is pretty good at making class interesting and has realistic expectations of her students. She really cares if her students learn the material. And if you go to class and try a little you can easily make an A.
Dr. Cooper is awesome. Very passionate and enthusiastic about the subject, and actually wants you to learn. Going to class is not mandatory, but I would recommend you go for the amount of activities done in class. They really help clear things up. Exams are tough, take good notes and read the book and you'll be fine.
Dr. Cooper is really enthusiastic about the subject material - even the dry statistics stuff. The major research paper is kind of a pain (and worth 20%), but she helps you take baby steps during the semester until the final paper is due. Subject material is pretty easy. She gives lots of helpful handouts - study those for exams and go to class!
Dr. Cooper is a fantastic professor. Concepts were thoroughly explained and she worked very hard to help students succeed. I had a mild interest at the beginning but was sad to leave at the end of the semester. One of my best classes at UT, and I would even recommend this to non-psych students interested in behavior as an elective.
Dr. Cooper is fantastic. She is direct and to the point. If she is talking, it's worth listening. Also, she is hilarious. I highly recommend her.
I loved her. She was a amazing professor and a hilarionus woman. I'm taking Methods of Research with her again in the Fall, and I'm so glad I got into her class.
For anyone in psychology, this is a very useful class with really great, well explained info. However, it is NOT an easy A. Homework is minimal, but attendance is necessary for anyone who cares about their grade. She goes above and beyond to explain ideas and I loved her online lectures. Her tests a tricky, but she gives you plenty of warning.
Very laid back and willing to help. The class is fairly easy but very enjoyable. Beth is just a great teacher and very nice person!
she makes class so fun and interesting! attendance is not mandatory but if you want to do well, you need to go. Her exam can be difficult, so make sure you study in advance. Overall, I recommend her!
There's a good reason why she has so many positive reviews! Her class on operant/classical conditioning is super interesting and she's a great teacher. I read the chapters once and went to every class. She explains things well enough to where I barely have to study. You get multiple attempts on the easy hw and have chances to get EC.
Dr. Cooper is hilarious. Best personality of all the Psych professors. The tests aren't bad if you get the material, the behavior modification lab was interesting but a bit of work. She's a great professor, and genuinely cares whether you learn or not. I highly recommend taking her class. I'm taking another one of her's next semester!!
She is a really great teacher- very smart and teaches so well. She is very funny and it is worth coming to class. Take her you will learn a lot about behavior.
Overall I enjoyed this class, but I worked harder in here than I did in any other class this semester. She warns you up front what exactly she expects. Great at giving examples to clarify and she's hilarious! Tests are tricky though and that impacted my grade somewhat. Take her but make sure you show up! It makes all the difference.
I loved Dr. Cooper! You should go to class because she gives fill in the blank notes. I did not read the textbook at all, and I made A's on all of the exams. If you put a little effort into studying the notes you take from the powerpoints in class, you should make an A easily.
You have to go to class most of the time, she posts fill in the blank slides but it is all easy stuff. She gives homework on BB but it is all easy and for your benefit. Tests are most of your grade and they are easy if you study!
Class is great! She is hilarious and really explains things well. She also will post some videos of lectures instead of having class. Tests are easy as long as you study some.
She is an awesome professor. Gives outlines for notes and is very helpful during and after class.
Dr. Cooper was my favorite teacher this semester! She is sweet and genuinely cares if you learn. If you go to every class, you won't have to read the book much. She gives TONS of opportunities to ask questions about concepts you don't understand. She doesn't offer much extra credit though, so study for the tests! Also, Homework can't be late!
Dr. Cooper is SOO hilarious! I absolutely loved her class. You honestly don't even need to read the textbook for her class. Just use the outlines she posts and fill it in :). Coming to class is a MUST to do well in her class. If you come to class, take good notes (which is pretty obvious), and participate, there is no way you can't make an A!
Dr. Cooper was a great professor, even for an online class. I felt like I knew her even though I have never met her. She made herself very much available and was extremely fair. I thought that Dr. Cooper made some rather boring textbook material interesting. Definitely take her!
Dr. Beth Cooper was the worst professor I have ever had in my entire college career. She is not helpful, and sends mass amounts of emails including unnecessary comments. When you ask her for help, she gives none. She is rude, disrespectful, and does not care about her students. I did not feel as if she cared about me at all or my education.
Dr. Cooper was a fantastic teacher! Go to class to understand. She's always available to help you. Her tests are on the harder side but she never turns you down if you need help and with a little effort it's actually not bad. HW is due on bb right before the exam, do it when its posted though. It's way more helpful. Jeopardy is a great way for EC
Dr. Cooper is great! She is really thorough and enjoys teaching this course. I'm not a fan of homework but doing the assigned homework helped on the exams. She gives lots of examples to help learn the material. I would take it again!
Dr. Cooper has really interesting lectures. She makes the material fun and easy to understand. If you go to class and pay attention, you should have no trouble doing well in this class. The Jeopardy extra credit was really helpful for reviewing before tests.
She is really funny and helpful. If you come to class and do her "busy work" you will do well. The tests can be tricky if you don't come to class.
She's a very funny person so lectures are usually enjoyable. She gives a lot of examples in class so attendance is highly recommended. Her tests are very straight-forward. It's not a hard class if you take good notes.
Dr. Cooper is very knowledgable and also really funny. Short online homework assignments due once a week and 4 tests and that's pretty much it. If you actually show up to class and take good notes, the tests are not anything to worry about. She gives really good examples and is clear about what you need to know for the tests. Would take again.
Great teacher. Makes it really fun and interesting and has great stories. Doesn't take attendance but it's in your best interest not to miss to many. Homework assignments on blackboard once a week but nothing hard or long. Would recommend.
She is absolutely hilarious. I loved her class. She is really great at making the concepts easy to understand. Class isn't mandatory, but you cover A LOT of material each class. If you miss, you will get confused. The homework assignments aren't difficult. I would highly recommend.
Dr. Cooper knows this material is boring, so she sincerely tries to make it as entertaining as possible. She's goofy and relaxed in class. The class itself is really easy. Do the online homework and you'll be well prepared for the exams, which really aren't difficult. She cares to get to know you and wants you to learn. She's pretty great.
She is the greatest teacher I have taken at UT! Her classes are interesting and she changes things up and lets students work together so you're not stuck listening to her lecture the entire class. She lets you out of class early a lot and doesn't give much homework at all and when she does it's super easy points toward your final grade. Take her!
Her class is hard, but if you listen to what she suggests you study, you'll do fine. She's very clear on what she wants you to know, so she makes the exams fairly difficult. I didn't study too hard, though, and still pulled a good grade out.
I didn't like Dr. Cooper, but she was a nice person and knew the material. But she tried to implement a new grading system that didn't involve actual grades, making the whole structure of the class very confusing and ultimately unfair. The hassle of dealing with Dr. Cooper trying to reinvent the wheel got in the way of actual learning.
Dr. Cooper was nice, but I didn't like the way she taught her class. There were too many assignments she would hand out or have you do before class. If you have to take her then you will be fine if you just study. I just remember hating doing a lot of in class stuff (worksheets, working with partners, etc). I personally didn't like it but you might
Took her for Learning and Thinking Psych - by far my favorite class and my favorite professor during my time at UT. She makes things easy to understand. Class was fun with great stories that relate to the material and is funny and interesting to listen to! If I could take more classes taught by her I would jump at the opportunity!
Beth is an amazing professor. You really need this book in order to pass. She has weekly directed notes that are due. She also lets you master the concepts on the exams before you move on to the next concept, so it's easy to make an A. Make sure to go to class though, because it's lecture heavy and in-class activity oriented.
Dr. Cooper was one of the best professors I have had thus far. She really cares about her students and wants to help you make your desired grade in the class.
I love Dr. Cooper! She made this class so interesting, and her teaching style made me really learn the material. She also does a jeopardy session the class before each test, where you work with one or two people to answer jeopardy questions and earn points on the test. Dr. Cooper is great, and you should definitely take this class.
Dr. Cooper rocks! She doesn't take attendance, but showing up matters. About one chapter of homework every week or so and it's not tough at all. Not a tough grader, although she uses an unusual system. She is charming, fun, and manages to make a really boring topic actually kind of fun. Would definitely recommend!
A great teacher that wants you to do well! This class isn't easy, but she makes it very straightforward.
Amazing teacher. Grade is based off of exams and online weekly homework. An easy A if you read the textbook and do weekly assignments. The textbook is also really well written and necessary if your not planning on attending many classes. Overall, really good teacher and I learned a lot.
Dr. Cooper is fantastic! If you attend the lectures that's pretty much all you need to pass the class, but there is no reason to skip the lectures because she makes them so interesting. I am not a morning person but I genuinely looked forward to my 8 am with her. She bases her grade off of exams and weekly online homework. Homework not extensive.
Dr. Cooper is amazing. She is funny and makes topics interesting. I joined her class last minute based on her reviews on here and they are all accurate. The class is difficult but if you put the effort in, you will make a good grade. She is very strict about her policies, so make sure you pay attention to them at the beginning of the semester.
Dr. Cooper is by no means an "easy A" however if you attend lecture and review a little before the exam, you will get an A or a B. She is hilarious and without intensive studying I remember everything we have talked about because she is so good at teaching! Definitely take her! Also, most Fridays she makes class "online"
Loved this class so much. She explains thing very well and is easily accessable outside of class for questions. Lectures are interesting and she's funny. I would definitely take this professor again and plan on doing so.
Dr. Cooper was a great professor to have my first semester of college. She is not easy but she is clear about what she expects from her students. Her class requires time spent studying and learning the full meaning of each concept. If you go to class, take good notes (allows NO electronics in her classes), ask questions and study you'll succeed.
Dr. Cooper is hilarious who will always keep the lectures interesting. The test are kind of hard but if you fully know the concepts and material you will do fine. This class requires a lot of studying and by no means is a easy A. The only negative thing I would say is the TA for our group was never there and honestly was never helpful.
Dr. Cooper is so great. Super funny & entertaining. Also, her class was fairly easy. Study some for the exams and show up for class (no attendance but there are pop quizzes) & you will make a good grade. I had her class on MWF and she would cancel Friday class and give an online assignment almost every week. She also drops 2 quiz grades and 1 exam.
Seriously such an amazing class. I was always intrigued by the lectures. Professor cooper made every lecture interesting and fun. Tests were very straightforward. Overall, this class was one of my favorites. I ended up changing my major to a more psych-concentrated one because of this class.
She's super sweet and caring and will really help you out in office hours if you're struggling. She sometimes makes classes online on fridays & she'll drop your lowest exam grade. I def recommend taking her!! Made my minor psych bc of how well she made me love this subject. They'll be some participation classwork & quizzes so you can't always skip.
I loved her class!! It was the only class I actually looked forward to because her lectures were so interesting and she's so funny. She doesn't give out study guides for test, but if you come to class and take notes, you will do great! There are also in class assignments that help raise your grade. She is very straightforward. 100000% recommend
Dr. Cooper is an amazing teacher. She lets you pick which class time to attend. No electronics are allowed. All homework - open notes Canvas quizzes - is due Thursday night. Some Fridays are online or optional. There are three tests and one final. Extra credit is available if you go to Jeopardy review and test review days - GO TO THESE.
Dr. Cooper was hands down one of the most interesting professors I've ever had. She made an 8am on MWF enjoyable. There are 4 exams (final is cumulative), Canvas quizzes due every Thursday night at 11:59pm, she gives some Fridays off, and offers Jeopardy points (EC) on exams to those who want to come -- worth it!
TAKE HER! She is probably the best teacher. It was the only class I did not dread going to. She was so amazing that I am now minoring in PSYC and I am taking her next semester. It's not the easiest class but she makes the class so inviting and fun. She is so approachable and understanding. Also very good at responding to emails.
Dr cooper makes her lectures interesting. Make sure you attend class though because there is almost always an in class assignment.
I love Dr. Cooper!!! Her lectures were fun to go to, and as long as you go, take notes, and study definitions and concepts the night before exam, you'll do fine. She's not trying to trick you. She gives you everything you need to get an A.
If you study for her tests you'll do great, if not you won't pass. Attendance is not mandatory but I liked going because she is pretty funny and makes it interesting. She will have random pop quizzes at end of classes but all on stuff covered in class that same day. There are 4 exams and you have the ability to get extra credit each time.
I'm minoring in psych, because of Prof Cooper. If you don't go to class you'll miss "pop"-quizzes and group work, but she is so easy to listen to and makes every lecture so fun, so you won't want to miss class. In no way is this an easy A, she makes you work, but if you go to class and take good notes, you'll have all you need for exams.
Dr. Cooper was one of the best psychology professors I've ever had. Her lectures are fun and involving. She does give weekly quizzes but they're very easy and they do help prepare you for her exams. She gives plenty of real world examples to help you understand concepts and always offers a chance to get points back on exams.
She is an amazing teacher. This was my second time taking her and is the best teacher so far. I am a Psych minor because of her, and her energy will make you interested in the topic. The way the class is structured makes it easy to make a better grade in the end since you kept retesting over it.
I had her for an 8am and her class was worth getting up for! She believes in what she is teaching and she also believes in her students. You will work for your grade, but she doesn't throw any curveballs--class is not mandatory (no points for going) but she made it interesting. I went to her class more than any other this semester.
She is a really good lecturer and the material is really interesting. Tests and quizzes are very easy but you must be in class to learn the material.
I really like her class ;its actually a cool environment!
Her tests are not strictly off of her powerpoints and lectures so you have to put the time in and study on your own. If you do this, the class will be easy.
One of my favorite classes I've taken at UT. Attendance isn't mandatory, but Dr. Cooper's lectures are very interesting. The tests aren't hard as long as you go to class, or study a lot to make up for not going to class. There's extra credit, and a bunch of easy homework grades. As long as you put in a little effort, you'll get a good grade.
A fantastic professor, she makes sure you know the material while not making the coursework oppressive. Many Fridays we had class cancelled with an online assignment in its place. All lectures were posted online, so even if you have to miss, you can still get the day's material. Exams don't have trick questions, very easy as long as you study.
Shes a great professor! She cares about the subject of psychology & teaching.. she is caring & will converse with you about your grade before/after class. She does give in-class quizzes, however, most of the time she will let you know what day so you can come to class. Its a lot of reading homework but overall the class wasnt that hard.
She wants you to succeed . I would recommend going to class because sometimes you will have a random ICA. Reading the textbook before exams helps with bringing everything together. Exams are very straightforward. She is helpful during office hours. Do the assignments and study for tests and you will get an A. Also finish the SONA stuff early.
She is a caring and hilarious teacher. You definitely need to put in effort and study for her tests if you want an A. Most of the tests questions are from her lectures, but she takes some from the book as well.
Her class was so interesting and she made psychology fun for me. Read the textbook and go over notes for the exams and you will get an A.
Dr. Cooper offers a lot of opportunities to either skip class, or attend for extra credit points, ATTEND THEM. Not only will these boost your grade significantly, but I found them to be really effective study tools. Otherwise she gives multiple choice exams and a lot of 5-10 minute online quizzes. The quizzes are easy, the test are a bit harder.
My favorite professor so far! Very funny. Not everything on the exam is in the lecture so be sure to read to book.
Dr. Cooper is a really good professor. Her exams are fairly easy, as long as you take notes and do the reading. She is really funny, just make sure you don't have your phone out in class.
I loved Dr. Cooper! She really had a great personality and it shows in class. Her assignments arent hard whatsoever, just come to class and take notes. There is a book and she says you should get it, but I didnt and got an A.
Fantastic class! I learned so much, and the professor made the material easy to understand by giving many examples. Really enjoyed this class and will absolutely take it again!
I love Dr. Cooper! She's so nice and funny, plus a little weird. The class is super easy and the lectures are somewhat interesting. I highly recommend taking her class!
Classes were fun and actually made going to an 8am enjoyable. However, exams are incredibly difficult and she doesn't round your final grade because "you should work a few tenths harder". First teacher I've come across to do that. Seemed snobby in office hours and made me feel bad about not understanding a simple concept. Would not take again.
After the first two exams, you have a chance to gain one or two of the questions you missed added back to that exam. She holds Jeopardy the Monday before the exam and if you just show up you get an extra point (recommend going to these). Exams aren't too bad if you just go through notes, the quizzes that are due every week, & look over the book!
She had a super interesting lecture, always brought in outside case studies to explain different concepts. The only thing I didn't like is that she doesn't allow technology in the classroom. She picked me out in front of 250 students to tell me to get off my phone. She taught to the test, so they weren't hard.
Dr. Cooper is an amazing professor. She is hilarious and actually enjoys what she's teaching. I love going to class because she tries to make lectures fun and interesting.
I LOVE Dr. Cooper! She is so funny and super easy to talk to! Some people find her tests tricky, but if you read the book and pay attention in lecture, you'll get an easy A. She gives extra credit for tests as well!
I absolutely love this class. Extra credit is accessible, lectures are amazing, tests are challenging but not difficult, and she is extremely accepting of others. Technology isn't allowed in class, but it's really not that big of a deal. She is confident and her lectures are definitely 10/10.
I love Dr Cooper. This was my second class with her. In order to do well, you need to go to almost every lecture and take good notes and make a quizlet WITH EXAMPLES from your notes. No need to read the book. I made an A in both classes with her and I love her teaching style and she's really funny. A lot of people really struggle with her exams.
Extremely entertaining, but makes you work for your grade. Always tells jokes during class and has such a good personality and teaching ethic. She is very easy to approach and will give you the time you need when you need to talk to her. very good at answering emails. Gives extra credit for no use of cell phones during class. do the studies early!
Very funny and sweet
Amazing teacher! Great lecturer! Take good notes. Organized lectures. Passionate about the topic.
Cooper is the most funny teacher I have had, she takes the class serious but is able to joke around. Honestly her class or pretty easy if you study I just didnt do that much but I still ended with a B. You dont have to go to lecture because she puts the slide up but her class is fun to go to! Its on the hill so just go to rays after.
Simply put, TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER. Professor Cooper is hilarious, enjoys her job, and nice to her students. She posts not only her powerpoints, but also audio recordings of each class. There will be a fair amount of work to do outside of class between SONA, MindTap and online Fridays. Basically, keep up and you'll pass fairly easily.
She is a great professor and her lectures are always interesting. There is a strict no phone policy and she isnt afraid to call you out. Exams are easy if you study and pay attention in class.
Dr. Cooper was a really great Psyc professor. She made lectures interesting and didn't make the tests unnecessarily hard. They were all multiple choice with some homework assignments throughout the semester. Attendance was not taken but occasionally we did in class assignments. Take notes, study for tests, and you'll be fine!
Take her class! Amazing lectures, all slides posted to canvas by the end of the day including an audio recording! Super strict phone policy but you get extra credit if you don't use it, it also encourages you to take better notes so are you really losing? The only reason I didn't pass with an A was because I constantly forgot to do the homework.
I loved this class. Dr. Cooper makes learning very interesting, and she's hilarious. No technology is allowed, and while she doesn't take attendance, you need the in-class notes to do well on tests. The tests aren't easy but if you study, you'll do well.
Dr. Cooper is a great teacher and very funny in lectures. She makes her classes easy to understand and you leave class truly understanding the material! Make sure to take notes and do the homework online and study in advance and you should be fine!
She is GREAT! I absolutely loved her. She can be quite funny at times during her lectures. We got most Fridays off and just did an online assignment. She does extra credit with an app! DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE IN CLASS! She will call you out and embarrass you in front of the whole class. The online textbook was where we did all of our hw. Lost of hw!
Dr. Cooper is one of the most best professors I've ever had. Her lectures are super interesting, and she's hilarious. She sometimes does pop quizzes, but her exams are pretty straight forward if you study. Loved her class, never a dull moment.
Dr. Cooper is probably the best psychology instructor I've had at UT. Attendance isn't mandatory but ABSOLUTELY go to class- Dr. Cooper explains things that might be more difficult to understand from the textbook alone and gives helpful handouts/worksheets. Her tests can be difficult, so take good notes and study (she gives extra credit though).
Dr. Cooper is fantastic! Attendance isnt mandatory; however, I suggest going because she explains information and gives a lot of practice in class. Also, she was very accommodating & helpful during the pandemic!
Freaking sweetheart! You have to put in the work and show you care and she will be there to support you and do anything she can for you to get an A! I would take her a million times over.
Dr. Cooper is an amazing professor. She's hilarious and her lectures are very entertaining. Attendance isn't mandatory, but there are occasional pop quizzes you don't want to miss. Exams are straightforward and the class is overall pretty easy. SI sessions were helpful too. Highly recommend taking her!
Dr cooper is one of the best professors i have had. She really cares about you and her lectures are fun. She does go kinda fast in her lectures, but she does record and post them so you can go back and watch them.
Dr. Cooper is such a queen!! Her lectures are so interesting and she makes class way more fun than it should be. She is so kind and caring, and if you have to turn in something late, she completely understands (in the COVID era at least). She gives a very specific layout of when things are due, so it's pretty easy to stay on track. Take her!!!
Great teacher in the classroom. Can be cold in one-on-ones. The book was necessary but I found a PDF download for free. She uses her own unique grading system which is nerve wracking but will pinpoint what you do/don't know with no b.s. Be prepared to move around in class (if in person) for group pairings.
I loved this class. She made class interesting. She made her expectations very clear. She cared about her students and tried to help anyway she could. I would love to take her class again! Such a good professor
Dr. Cooper is amazing!! She is very caring and super helpful. Work is easy and tests are good. Would take her again in a heart beat!!
If you watch her lectures and study for the exams you will do great. She offers study guides so if you just put in the work you will do good. I had her for an all-online class and she handled it really well. TAKE HER!!!!
I love Dr. Cooper! She really cares about her students and class is always very interesting to listen to. Idk how anyone could ever be bored listening to her. Her exams are short answer/short essay questions where you have to apply what you learned. But they are fairly easy if you go to class and DO THE PRACTICE WORKSHEETS in the week
Dr. Cooper is an amazing professor! Her lectures are always fascinating and she explains content incredibly clearly. I've also found her to be very accessible outside of class. She inspired me to minor in psychology! I highly recommend her to anyone.
Dr. Cooper is fine, but extremely disorganized. There were multiple instances where she would read off the wrong examples for a concept and then backtrack. In addition, she would make them up as she went, get them wrong, then say that the example was for a different concept. It was really confusing especially since these topics are very similar.
She is a super funny woman who is really passionate about what she's teaching. She's always willing to engage with you and she always keeps her lectures fun and interesting. 10/10. The work load is decent but totally manageable and the grades come easily as long as you take notes. Final is optional!
Elizabeth Cooper is an amazing professor. She engages you during lectures and has never made what we are learning difficult to understand. She doesn't take attendance but I do suggest you go anyways in order to grasp everything, and she does have a Zoom meeting available to join if you're unable to go in person.
She is a great professor (+ quite hilarious)! As long as you go to class (or watch the recorded lectures that she records for each class), you should have absolutely no problem getting an A in this class. I have never once been bored when listening to her lecture, and she wants you to actually understand the material. Course load is very do-able!
Dr. Cooper was amazing. She made lectures fun and she had no exams, just a five question quiz a week which is less stressful than having an exam. At the beginning of the semester there is a lot of busy work but as the semester goes on it dials down a ton.
Dr cooper made her lectures as interesting as they could be, and she made sure to keep the same assignments deadlines each week so there was never any confusion about when something was due
She is good at explaining .
Dr. Copper is the best!!!! If you go to class, pay attention, and do the work it is almost impossible to not pass. She makes learning fun which is truly a special quality in a college professor. I would recommend her 10,000 times over if you have to take psychology.
Dr Cooper was amazing. You either need to go to lecture or watch the recorded lectures to pass. I never got bored in a lecture and she is very funny. I would take her for every psych class if I could.
Her teaching style didn't click for me. I put in a lot of work for this class & I'm a straight A student, but I failed 3/4 exams & had to get tutored twice a week. Workload was fine, but the poorly worded exams were WAY too difficult for what we learned in class. Everyone is different, but this class was my own personal nightmare.
Dr. Cooper is an absolute gem. Her personality is outstanding and she is very knowledgeable about psychology. She adds a lot of personal anecdotes in her lectures, most of which are hysterical. She says what shes thinking at all times (the whole class has laughed out loud many times), which makes you trust her a lot! 100% would recommend!!!
Dr. Cooper's lectures were engaging/interestingmore than any other prof I had. However, I would NEVER take her again. She tends to be unapproachable and verbally aggressive. Her exams are not very clear, making it hard to get a good grade even though the material was so easy that it was self-explanatory. Must: kiss up to her to do well. I didn't.
Interesting, funny lectures with great examples. Has easy weekly quizzes that you can take with multiple attempts. Four tests that mostly dictate your grade, but if you paid attention in class and study well, you'll be fine. Light course load, and although the textbook is recommended, it's not necessary. Would take again.
I really enjoyed this class a lot. She made every lecture interesting with examples of her own experience and her humor in general. If you pay attention during the lecture it is an easy A. She has a zoom option for the class which is really nice. There are weekly quizzes that she does instead of exams and the final exam is optional Highly recommend
Dr Cooper is pretty nice and her class is very easy. She doesn't have any exams, just a weekly 5 question quiz. She records lectures so you can go back & watch them. The only thing is that she's pretty political & isn't afraid to say what she thinks. She can come off kinda cold & harsh sometimes if you have different views than her.
Dr. Cooper is an amazing professor. Her lectures are very easy to understand and very fun to listen to. I'd definitely recommend her for anyone. You don't have big tests, but rather small quizzes every week usually about what you literally just covered in class, so it's really easy if you just pay attention. Pronoun friendly.
Her lectures were very engaging. Just pay attention and stay on top of assignments and you will do good. She could be a bit scattered at times and she changed her mind about certain assignment due dates sometimes, but it was not too bad. We had weekly quizzes instead of exams and they weren't too difficult, just review your notes. Glad I had her.
Dr. Cooper is amazing. She gives super interesting lectures that relate to real life. The tests are all cumulative, but as long as you study you will be fine. Going to class and doing the handouts helps a lot for understanding the content and the tests. She does give quizzes almost every week but they are not hard. She is energetic and passionate.
Dr.Cooper is incredibly knowledgable in what she's talking about. She cares about you understanding the material. She gives you chances to improve your test scores. Gives great feedback on assignments you might not have done the best on. For sure will take her again.
Honestly she wasted all of my time, the amount of disrespect that Dr. Cooper gave was enough. She is an awful grader and awful at being friendly with her comments on assignments. I would highly advise anyone to not take her at all. Only for those with hateful hearts like her. Her 2955 class could be online and she refused to believe that!
Ive never had a professor like Cooper. She is a hard grader and quite honestly incredibly rude to students. Yells frequently, things such as questions or using technology for notes. Has a very niche teaching style that left me feeling lost in her class. Most of the grade is based on 4 exams and a project. Gives very little feedback on assignments.
Beth Cooper is awesome! She has directed notes for every chapter, and they help so much on tests! Her assignments are pretty easy. If you come to class, you WILL get an A : )
Never gave exams, one weekly quiz, and very simple group projects in the discussion section. I really enjoyed taking this class. Easy A.
Cooper was an amazing professor and by far my favorite my freshman, fall semester. She gave amazing lectures and doesn't make you write down every single thing on her slides. She provides all of the resources you need to get an A in her class, with plenty of extra credit. She is the reason why I want to minor psychology.
She didnt have any exams
Beth is a queen. Very enjoyable, stress free class.
This class was really fun with Dr. Cooper. Love her and she didn't really have a structure for the class this semester, but we created one as we went along and it was great. The readings were short and very interesting, and our class was really lax and tight-knit. The queen of historical psychology frfr.
Dr. Cooper is amazing. I loved her class and she does no exams! With that saying you will have a lot of quizzes, 1 to 2 a week. She also has a lot of homework, but it helps boost grades. Pro tip .. DO YOUR SONA CREDITS EARLY!! They will book up so fast and if you forget about it at the end of the semester there will be no studies left.
Shes so goated. No test just easy quizzes and drops lowest 4. Shes actually super fun and knows how to get her students attention. She hates phones tho and will talk bout it. She talks about sex alot but in a fun interesting way. I wish she had a psychology of sex class i would def take it
I really enjoyed taking Dr. Cooper's class! There were a lot of quizzes, usually 1 to 2 a week, but they were fairly easy and she drops the lowest 4 at the end of the semester. The final is optional and it is really easy to do well if you keep up to date with your assignments. Her lectures are very interesting and I would take her class again.
Dr. Cooper is an excellent professor to have! She is really engaging, fun to listen to, and gives really good feedback. Overall, she is there for you and will help you try to get the best grade you can. For PSYC 298 don't be surprised at how harshly the Research Proposal might be graded but, other than that, the class is relatively easy.
The information she taught was interesting. Her biggest problem is organization. She has no clue how to use technology and she expects you to get assignments done on the fly with no notice. If you need the credit then take the class ONCE, but its not worth the headache to do it twice. She's a one time pill. Be prepared for a quiz/homework headache.
She was absolutely amazing, she would answer your questions and go one on one with you in a lecture hall with 300+ people. One of the best professors i've had, homework was heavy but achievable.
Dr. Cooper is funny and wants you to succeed. The content covered in lectures is much more important than what's in the textbook, but reading the chapters will certainly help too.
She grades really tough. I was going through a very rough time in my life and she was not forgiving with late assignments or anything of the sort. Dreaded going to class. Her wording on tests makes it so hard to understand what she is asking. Studied countless hours and still got bad grades. Personally would not take her classes again.
Show up. Take good notes. Ask questions when confused. Find a peer to study with. Read the textbook. Take the quizzes. You'll be fine. Dr. Cooper is by far the best professor I've had in college. Would 10/10 take a class of hers again.
This class was extremely easy but also extremely educational. Dr. Cooper is an amazing professor with interactive lectures (that are also available by zoom). The class was mostly participation/completion of assignments and there were NO EXAMS and NO FINAL. Instead of exams, there were quizzes given every few weeks (very easy). Hard to fail!!
Dr. Cooper is a really good professor. Very upbeat and cares about what she is teaching! I was never bored in this class and learned a ton. I recommend reading the textbook along with lectures because it will greatly help. That being said the chapters in the book are super short. She also offers jeopardy review days for extra credit on the exams.
Dr. Cooper was a delight to have as a professor. I enjoyed her humor and how much she connects with her students. The tests are very straightforward and her learning environment is great. I would take her again if I could! I can't recommend her enough.
She was easily the best professor I have ever had. Her lectures were actually easy and entertaining to listen to. We never had any exams just small quizzes and a few group projects and things in our discussion sections. She teaches in a way that makes the material actually easy to understand.
I cannot understand how anyone does not love Dr. Cooper. She makes class funny and entertaining, she encourages working together in class, and her tests are not super difficult. The material in the class can get a little easy to get mixed up, but she always asks if anyone has anything she can clarify before exams begin. I love her fr.
Can't recommend Dr. Cooper enough. I have come away from her classes feeling more competent with the material than any other professor I've taken. And as long as you genuinely engage in class and with the homework, you will not have to study much (if at all).
She was very nice and accessible, there's always students asking her questions after class and she is always nice and patient when she answers all their questions. The class wasn't very hard.
Loves her job and makes lectures easy to understand. Final was optional when I took the class but she gave weekly quizzes (usually very easy if you attended class). She is very understanding and the class overall is really easy however don't wait until the last minute to do the psych studies and pay attention to when the mind taps are due!!
Amazing professor! There are no exams in this class and just 1-2 weekly quizzes. She is very good at teaching and the learning material is direct and easy to understand. I totally recommend.
very funny and engaging. no exams but gives weekly quizzes.
Just be warned, while she is great, the class is a snooze fest
She is very cool . Gave weekly easy 5 question quizzes but dropped a bunch of the lowest grades at the end . No final exam so that was nice too.
TAKE DR. COOPER! One of the best professors. Has researched and knows how to teach. No tests, just 3-5 question quizzes sprinkled through the semester (3 lowest grades are dropped). Discussion sections that consist of various activities/projects. Must participate in research studies (fill out surveys). 100% better than the other psyc professor.
Love her. Out of all my friends tat had a psych class I have apparently had the best experience and Dr. Cooper is to thank for that.
Dr. Cooper is amazing! Best professor I've ever had. She's SO good at teaching the material, and I always understood what we learned. She does do pop quizzes, but they're easy, and she drops some. And if you study, the exams are very fair. She'll also replace your previous exam grades if you do better on the next one. Super interesting material!
Beth Cooper is awesome. Her class was extremely beneficial to learning more about psychology and its research methods. She allows collaboration often, and all of her lectures cover ALL the material she gives on the exams. I would recommend her if you're looking for a fun professor that makes learning not so bad.
Beth Cooper is a good lecturer and tries to not be too boring. Class and tests are pretty simple and straightforward.
Prof Cooper is awesome - her class is a breeze with weekly quizzes and no final exam. Unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for studying alongside the textbook. Definitely take this class!
Dr. Cooper is an incredible person who has a witty sense of humor. There are no exams in the class, so the mini-tests are decently difficult. Other than this, she's awesome!
TAKE HER CLASS! She is passionate, funny, and loves to get the class involved in mini-experiments during lecture. Mini-tests every week or other week, but they take ~5min and are based directly on the notetaking guides she hands out. There's InQuizitive HW that can get a bit tedious, but she gives plenty of time to do them. NO surprise assignments.
Funny and kept class interesting
I never went to lecture beyond the first week of class. This class has weekly quizzes in discussion section and I never did terribly at those. No final exam and most work is very easy. Inquizitives are a little tedious but she gives more than enough time to do them.
Dr. Cooper has been my favorite professor so far. She's super smart but never talks about things that are hard to understand. Classwork is easy but make sure you go to the discussion sections. That's my goat frfr love Dr Cooper
Dr. Cooper is by far my favorite professor I have ever had! her lectures are so interesting and the discussion leaders are great! the class is SUPER easy just attend discussion and pay attention in lecture and you will have an A there is barely any homework and no real exams
This was a super easy class. She gave out guided notes for the lectures. There were weekly quizzes during the discussion sections, but they were easy, and the bottom three were dropped. It was a very easy A with minimal work outside of the classroom.
Dr. Cooper is a funny professor. The class is so easy. You can do as many questions on the hw until you get a 100. She doesn't do clicker questions and there are no exams. In the discussions you have mini quizzes though. The final exam is optional and it's not hw heavy.
This class does not have tests, and the final is optional. But, there are mini-tests that cover individual chapters of the textbook taken in discussion section, but she drops the three lowest. You do need to attend your discussion sections. Overall, if you study each chapter briefly before the mini-test and do your homework, you will do very well.
I didn't know what to expect going into this class however I learned so much. She's a funny teacher and I had about 230 people in my class and she made us all feel so included. She does a 7-8 question quiz every week and it's really nice to not have one big test after every module. Fairly easy class, 100% recommend.
She's a very kind lady and a wonderful professor. PLUS NO EXAMS!
She is genuinely hilarious. Truly the most unpredictable human being I've ever met. In academics though, I learned so much in this class and she doesn't make super difficult tests. We also do group projects that are actually fun.
Dr. Cooper is an amazing professor to take your classes with!! Her lectures are very engaging, and she is super funny. You actually have to put effort into trying to fail her class. Very little homework and the homework she does assign is very minimal and easy. TAKE HER!
Dr. Cooper is a really great professor! She makes the class interesting and honestly reminds me of a stand up comedian. She will email reminder you if you haven't turned in an assignment a day before the due date which is super helpful. attendance is optional and she zoom records every lesson.
She is nice and its an easy class
SO chill. Went to lectures for the first month then stopped (I will say though, her lectures were very interesting). Usually gives weekly homework, but it never took more than 30 min. 5 mini-tests, she gives the terms you need to know beforehand, and they were very easy. You need to study, but not much. She wants everyone to succeed, I recommend!
