Great woman, really eager to help you and is very sweet! She doesn't always explain things well, but if you go to her after class she makes sure you know the info. She has a few little quirks (ask to use the restroom) and is a stickler for making you come to class. Overall she's a good teacher, she does all she can to make sure you pass.
She is an extremely nice and helpful teacher. She explains things well and really cares about you and your grade in the class. You need to attend class but she makes me 7:30 morning class easy. She tries to make jokes or tell stories to brighten the mood during class also!
worst teacher ever! you never have enough time to finish your test and she treats people like idiots. The first day of class you think it will be an easy A but its hard to even get a C. you can be good or bad at math and still fail.
Nice lady and has great intentions for her students. But, she has trouble conveying the material in a clear manner. Her tests can be challenging. You MUST go to class because the information in the textbook is not enough to pass the class. You do not have to do tutoring for this course. Overall, a challenging course but it is definitely do-able.
She teaches you in a way that you don't need the sheets like other students. She tells stories to brighten up the class and genuinely cares if her students understand the information. Going to class is a must for participation points, but the class goes by extremely fast. She does skip over a few formulas that you need to know in the beginning, but they are explained in her own notes that she emails to you (I never used the the class notes that you can buy for the course).
Ms. Dougherty is a sweet lady! She teaches the material very well, explains what the homework is going to be like, and prepares her students for the exams very well. She does tend to ramble, but will answer any question you have either during or after class. The only bad thing was sometimes she started class a couple minutes early.
Such a sweet lady! Doesn't always explain stuff that well in class but is very willing to help you make a good grade. If you go to her after class she will do everything she can to help you understand. Class is mandatory.
She may be a good professor for her other courses but DO NOT take her for Math 1201! If she's the only professor offered, wait to take the class. She is so confusing in class, a horrible teacher, and tests are very hard even if you study a lot for it. Class is mandatory. Even with the 13 point grading scale it is hard to make an A, B, or C.
This lady is so sweet. She is incredibly willing to help anyone. She did go on about weird things but i always thought it was funny. As long as you do what you're supposed to, you should pass this class EASILY!
This class is not the easiest class but it isn't the hardest either. You MUST attend class. She gives daily grades every class. Its hard to finish her tests in the time given. IF you study and go to class, you should at least get a C. Her grading scale is very lenient.
Such such such a sweet lady. She always went out of her way to help a student. Her test are not easy, but if you show your work and your thought process, she gives you credit even if you didn't get the exact answer. LOVE HER, i wish she taught calculus 2
Super nice lady. However, her tests are extremely difficult. Even if you get a tutor and think you know what you're doing you will get lost on her tests.
The easiest math teacher I've ever had. Seriously. Do not skip class, because she does take attendance. I've found that if you copy down all of the problems from the board in class, there is a 90% chance those same problems are on the test. And there was so many bonus points, it's crazy. She will help you out if you need it--even for other classes.
Math 1023 is a terrible, terrible class (it's two 3 hour semester long courses in one semester) but Ms. Dougherty is a really good teacher and she obviously cares about her students. I found her very easy to follow and the classes are small enough that you could always raise your hand to get more explanation.
Ms. Dougherty is one of the best calculus teachers LSU has to offer. 90% of the problems she works in class make up her exams. She gives partial credit. If you do skip class she'll give you notes for that day. I wouldn't suggest skipping though. She is a super nice lady and made the class fun.
Worst teacher i have ever taken. She is crazy, you will only understand what i mean if you take her. Don't take the risk. You would rather a hardly intelligible asian, to this lady, as they would be much more helpful. I wish i would've listened to others who warned me not to take her, but i thought she couldn't be that bad. Don't make my mistake.
I'm not sure how much attending class impacts your in grade, but I don't even care what my end grade is. She's nice (most of the time), but a terrible professor and a terrible test maker. The tests are entirely too long. On Exam 3, one problem takes the entire time and is worth 25 points. Even if you know all the material, expect less than a B.
Don't expect any help from her and if you have any questions she will not help you.
Even though going to class everyday, the test are insanely difficult. Copying the notes on the board do not help you at all.
Mrs. Dougherty was kind of crazy but she was happy and enthusiastic about calculus kind of crazy so it was bearable. She has a passion for teaching and she is pretty good at it too. She gives some of the hardest exams but it's to prepare you for the long run. She grades fairly but doesn't give much extra credit. Great teacher
Really cares about her students and their grades. She assigns homework almost daily.. so be ready for that. Her tests aren't bad as long as you know how to do every problem she puts on the board and keep up with homework. She also is willing to bump up your grade if you ask at the end of the semester
Dr. Dougherty is a great teacher. She really cares about the students and is willing to help with anything. She is really good at TEACHING calculus where a lot of the other professors just go over it in class. Her test problems all come from the online homework, but she tends to give more complicated versions of them. I wish she taught 1552!
Calculus is just a hard class but compared to other math professors at LSU you will take Dougherty any day of the week. She is very energetic and won't move too fast if the class does not get it. Doing lots of practice problems before test earns you points and curve on the test. I never took calc before this and she does a good job.
Calculus is a hard class. Dr Dougherty is very scatter-brained and all over the place. That being said, she will help you in any way she can. Make sure you go to every class or you WILL NOT pass. She gives homework but doesn't make any of it due until the end of the semester so don't get behind.
Great teacher, but tests are extremely difficult. The majority of my class is failing. She assigns Webassign but doesn't pick it up until after the final so don't get behind. Be prepared to put a lot of hours in to do good on the test.
Very hard in terms of howework. She gives us textbook problems to do in order to participate in the curve. The first chapter that I did the text book problems I did only half which counted to a little over 130 problems. The curve for the last test was only 5 points. Very hard and makes simple things complicate. Don't take!
I already know calculus, understand and tutor it, yet still do poorly on the tests. I have 100s on all quizzes and do all the homework, yet it doesn't help. Her tests are just too long to finish in the time given, and it doesn't help that she will cause a distraction in the middle of a test. No amount of understanding the material helps.
Literally the hardest class I've taken yet. If you've never seen calculus, please do yourself a favor and do not take her. Heard some of the TA's have easier exams, but Doughtery's exams are too long and too hard for the given 50 minutes. If you take her, expect to spend lots of time practicing because you will fall behind.
Very sweet lady, but a terrible teacher. She gets off topic and lost in anecdotes on a daily basis. She has such a love for math, but can't teach it at all. Her tests were also extremely difficult. She takes the whole section and combines it into one problem that takes 10 minutes to do and you have 8 to do in a 50 minute time-frame. Good luck!
she can be rude sometimes and she wont respond to your email she even said that by herself!! Tests are extremely HARD! the questions on the tests are waaaay different that what she teaches in class (very much harder). lots and lots of homeworks and they are hard also! 60% of the class dropped the class. Just do ur self a favor and not take her ..
Ms. Dougherty is a caring and hilarious woman. She is also one of the best calculus instructors at LSU. She has a wonderful way of describing concepts and has no issue completely re-explaining an idea or problem. She truly cares and will work with you until you understand. She gives great tips and goes out of her way for her students. Truly amazing
If you have NEVER taken calculus then pick a different teacher. Her class is one of the hardiest Calculus classes. Her test are very long and if you haven't practice every trick in the book she's bound to get you on one. She gives a list of problems that will take forever to complete but they're only bonus on the test. You'll need the bonus.
Tests are extremely hard quizzes are terrible. Does give bonus points for homework though
Everybody who say's she's difficult is lying, has to be the best teacher for calc on campus. Yes she will demand a little more but if you can't pass the class, college is not for you. She explains the material beautifully and the tests are straight to the point. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!
Tests are easy, straight to the point, really no point going to class. do the homework and you should be fine.
I am very grateful to have learned Calc 1 in Miss Dougherty's class! I had no prior Calc experience, and I struggled in the beginning, but thanks to Dougherty's effective, enthusiastic teaching, I ended up excelling in this daunting course. While the tests can be difficult, she will give you the resources to prevail.
Professor Dougherty uses a bunch of analogies to explain Calculus that the majority of only make sense to her. She does offer a lot of opportunities to get extra credit and is in her office a couple hours every day, which I would advise you to make use of if you have specific questions. Exam curves are a lot of textbook problems but good practice.
Prof. Dougherty has a great personality and cares about her students although her tests can be very challenging if you have never taken calculus before or are not strong in math. Homework is not mandatory although DO IT because it'll prep you for the test and you can get 10 bonus pts on the tests.
Very tough class with her; she is very smart, so she is sometimes unable to "dumb it down" enough to where students can understand it. If you don't already have a good, basic understanding of Calculus, I wouldn't recommend taking this professor at all.
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. calculus at LSU is hard enough and her tests are nearly impossible, she assigns homework for extra credit which seems like a good way to study but her exams are much harder than the homework assigned
Unless you have taken some level of calculus beforehand, don't schedule this professor. She never allows for questions to be asked during lectures because of how she teaches and it allows for little student interaction in class. She encourages homework from the textbook but it is an obscene amount of problems.
Great teacher! She gives the HARDEST tests & SOOOOOO much homework. Ive been neglecting my other classes and I am still not done with my calculus homework. She schedules tests and the most homework during dead week, so I dont recommend if you want to pass your other finals.
DO NOT TAKE!!!!! Worst professor I have ever had I dont know how shes even allowed to teach at LSU. Her tests are so unnecessarily hard compared to all other calc 1 classes. She does give bonus on the test, but you have to do a bunch of extra homework problems to turn in. Homework problems are way harder than the problems she does in class.
I went into this class with no prior Calculus experience which was a MISTAKE. For a freshman level calc class, this was way too difficult. The tests are impossible (even after going to class, doing all of the homework problems, and studying for hours). If you dont want to fail Calculus, dont take this class.
Impossible tests. I was great at calc before I took this class. She doesn't test on the actual concepts. She goes through and picks the "most interesting or difficult looking" ones. She get halfway through problems, then goes off on some random rant about some strange aspect of her childhood & uses weird analogies and laughs at herself for them.
Nice lady but she is all over the place and doesn't make the context clear. I could've exempted this class due to AP credits and even I had a hard time following what she was trying to explain . She assigns webassign after ever class and textbook problems which if you don't do she doesn't give a curve which is usually only 5 points.
AVOID AT ALL COST! I enetered calculus with a strong background of pre-calc (all As in high school) but nothing will prepare you for this class. People that took calc in high school struggled just as bad or worse than I did. Almost sure half the class either failed or dropped. Do yourself a favor and AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COST!!!
Dr. Dougherty isn't a terrible teacher, however her exams are very tough, as aterial covered in class and hw doesn't even compare to exams. She does offer a decent amount of bonus opportunities, though. If you don't have a really strong algebra background TAKE ANOTHER PROF!!! She explains the calc pretty well but the algebra on the exams kills
Prof. Dougherty really cares about teaching and you can tell that she genuinely wants you to learn and understand. There is a lot of homework online and in the textbook. Practice as much as you can outside of class because she only teaches the basic versions of everything but tests on the complicated, more complex versions of everything.
Do not take her. If she is the only professor left, just wait until next semester. Her class is awful. You will hate yourself if you take this class
Could have skipped the class with AP credit, but thought it would be an easy class to get the hang of college. I was wrong, literally any other teacher would have been better. All the classwork and examples on the board are easy and not on the test. You are tested on hard problems that try to trick you and seemingly make no sense. Do not reccomend
Ms. Dougherty is really passionate about calculus and wants you to succeed! I only missed 4 classes the whole semester but i would recommend not missing any. Make sure to do the webassign and textbook problems. A lot of times the test questions would be identical or really similar to the problems worked in class and the problems in the homework.
Goes over lots of examples and does her best to help each and every student succeed.
Professor Dougherty is a great professor she teaches very well and clear but Calculus is a tough class and she expects you to be able to recreate most of what is taught in class. The tests are really difficult but as long as you work through the textbook problems you will be fine.
This was by far the hardest class I have ever taken. Her tests are insanely hard, and virtually impossible to pass. I studied for hours, did all the homework and even went back over the homework and still failed every single test. She teaches the basic concepts but tests on the most obscure and hard questions. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER.
Save yourself the time and find a different class. Her notes are lengthy but not very clear, and she specifically tried to use the most difficult and ""interesting"" problems she can find for the tests. Nearly our entire class dropped after about the 3rd test because we were all failing. Just find a different section.
Professor Dougherty is a caring professor that always gives you the benefit of the doubt, and is always accessible outside of class. If you have questions, get help, or you will get behind! Do the recommended textbook problems, and make sure you can do the hardest ones before each test. Try to take one of her smaller classes if possible.
This was the hardest class I have ever taken in my life. She would explain baby problems in class and then our designated homework problems were things she herself could not solve. Homework was not mandatory but crucial if you wanted to pass her nearly impossible tests. We were not allowed to use any type of calculator until the last test.
If you barely passed your ALEKS placement test this class will be hard. Professor Dougherty really likes to touch back on your understanding of trig and algebra. The theorems and formulas are easy to understand but because you can't figure out the trig/algebra behind the problems on the test. You will get a 1/4 points or 2/10 on each problem.
To be fair, she is a great person, just not a great professor. Her lectures are all over the place, and never really made sense. Most of my classmates agreed with me. I would not take her again.
Good teacher but can be scattered. Her tests are impossibly difficult and unless you use a blue book that she grades herself, you arent getting any partial credit.
Not a good professor shouldve been an easier class but she made it hard on students by not communicating effectively. Scattered
my section it was in class but basically all the work was online. I loved her class she's very quirky and sweet. the homeworks are helpful and easy material, the practice test on MML is just like the exams. overall these other reviews are fake, this class is a piece of cake but actually had useful material about like interest loans and real stuff
As an art student, I am NOT A FAN MATH but she made this an enjoyable experience. I read the reviews on her... I guessing it she is hit or miss with most people. She is kooky and a bit of a potty mouth, but I love it. Do the work and you will be fine!!!
Professor Dougherty is very scatter-brained and can be quite rude at times. She's not very professional with her emails either. The majority of the time, I had no clue how to do any of the material she taught because she didn't do a very good job of conveying it in the lectures. Would not recommend taking her class unless you have to.
This teacher is very rude. She hates being wrong. She grades hard for no reason & does not give feedback. Also, she gave us a final exam and a final essay paper (1000 words), which she never told us. When we confronted her about it, she replied with a disrespectful attitude. If there is another teacher, take that person. Do not buy the books.
I am thoroughly shocked at how rude and unprofessional this professor has been all semester. She even decided to give a 1000 word essay for the final but never mentioned it until the day of the final. To top it off, every essay question was completely passive aggressive, as they related to something she previously got mad at the class for.
She has a strong temper if you ever have to actually engage with her but if you can avoid that then the class is easy.
Professor Dougherty is an excellent Professor. Attendance is ABSOLUTELY mandatory or you will have no idea what is going on in the class. Homework is not mandatory, but is heavily recommended. If you do the Homework, you will be so much better off and understand the questions easier on quizzes and exams. Her quizzes are unannounced and graded hard.
This class was asynchronous though at times she would hold a zoom for anyone that wanted to see her work out problems. The practice tests were exactly like the real test and there are many homework assignments through Pearson/MyMathLab. Be ready to pay to do homework and tests for this course. This class was said to be the easiest of all math.
Such a sweet lady. The material isn't that hard, but if you're like me and suck at math either way, she's very helpful. This class is like the older sister of math 1029. If you can choose a math, take this one. And take Professor Dougherty.
Such a nice lady. She's very personable and doesn't have an ego which is something that is very rare as far as math professors go. Definitely would recommend any of her classes.
There were only 19 homeworks a few quizzes and 3 tests. By far the easiest math class ive ever taken.
She is a great teacher. If you are good in math, you should pass this class easily with an A. Its basically kindergarten math. There are quizzes just about every day so you need to go to class. I took it online this semester and all of our test were open notes and book.
This class was asynchronous for me. Prof. Dougherty is very fast with answering emails and cares. The class is easy and you can finish it in a month. The material is kind of difficult but once you learn it, it it very easy to take quizzes and tests.
She was by far the rudest professor I have ever had. I emailed her asking about a grade and she told me to leave her be. Homeworks are easy but tests are nearly impossible and nothing like the homework questions.
Professor Dougherty is very kind and her lectures and notes are very helpful for the class but my math lab is an easy site to learn the material as well.
Prepare to teach yourself in this class. I took her for an online course and it was horrible. Her notes were barely legible, and did not cover half of what math lab covered. Her notes look like literal scribbles on a piece of paper!
Dr. Dougherty is kinda quirky and her handwritten notes aren't always easy to read, but she explains the concepts well. There's quite a bit of homework through MyLab, but you can work at your own pace because everything is due at the end of the semester and attendance is not required. Practice tests are just like the tests and there's only 3!
Easy material but her classroom was always open on the days class was scheduled. Her handwritten notes were accessible on moodle by assignment numbers. Had infinite many tires on homework and practice tests, ten tries for each quiz. Tests were just like practice tests. Tests cost $15 on procteru, only three tests. Everything is graded right away.
Definitely a good class to take if you need to take MATH1100. Class is fully online but she offers lectures and gives lecture notes!
I did not love this class. She was extremely rude and made math for me miserable. Not an easy person to talk to or to ask questions to.
Professor Dougherty is a good professor I took her session C class and it was no lectures offered but youtube helps and MyMathLab. She provided written notes from her lectures on moodle so I learned by using my resources. Easy class! Two tests and a final. NO Extra CREDIT. So do everything you can do to pass also she let us use notes on the exam!
Rude person and grades based off of her mood. Extremely difficult workload, I spent several hours on singular homework assignments and received them daily.
This class was all online and was the easiest thing I have ever done. I finished this course in a month and I am so bad at math and I hate everything about it. It's impossible to not get an A in this class if you have any sort of common sense.
Only put OK because I never actually had to talk to her personally. A tad blunt over e-mail though. The class itself is easy, just take notes, do the quizzes and homework on MathLab, and take the exams. Fair warning though, she uses ProctorU for exams. Take this if you need math credit and aren't the most math-y person like me.
This class was so easy, I got an A, and I attended class ONCE and it was over zoom. Everything's online and she gives you the whole semester to complete all homeworks, quizzes, and exams. Exams are on Proctoru and you never have to communicate with her thankfully because she's a bit rude.
She was a great professor and leaves all assignments open until the end of the semester.
This was my only and last math class at LSU. I did it all during finals week since everything was due on 12/9. This class is not challenging; if anyone says it is, they're lying. The only part that sucked was having to pay for the ProctorU testing. This math class is elementary and doesn't require much thinking.
entire course is online; she puts notes online & homework & tests are online. entire course is go at your own pace but due b4 semester ends. attend lectures if you want but you don't have to. math 1100 is a super easy math class, so idk how she teaches any harder math courses.
Literally the easiest math course ever. I did not show up to her class once and I pretty much just taught myself from the MLM homework. I didn't make anything lower than a B on any assignment. I promise this is the easiest course you could take, and that is coming from someone who failed 1029 twice.
The easiest math class you can take. Didn't come to class all semester and taught myself how to do it with no real difficulty. And I am not a math person at all so that's saying something. Very lax and good for people with busy schedules who want to get a math done in their free time. Just don't procrastinate
Professor Dougherty takes her time teaching each material. If you put in the effort, this is a class that you can get a 100 easy. She sometimes "baby" the lectures as if we were little kids, but it's for those who struggle with math. She gives plenty of reminders for homework and tests. If you need easy math credit, must take.
Do not take her for 1201 unless you absolutely have to. She's seriously the worst teacher I've ever had. Rude for no reason and makes you feel dumb for asking questions in class.
Easy math course. Professor is understanding and provides daily schedule for reference but you do not need to follow it. I didn't follow it and completed assignments later than the schedule and had an A+. Post lectures and are easy to read and understand. take it for a gen ed!
Easiest math class I have ever taken and I am not a math person. It is time consuming since it is online but super easy. She has notes on moodle but her handwriting is hard to read sometimes. Exams are on ProctorU. If you are on the online section you are welcome to go to her in person section. If you need a math credit take this class.
Do not choose this professor. She is the most rudest teacher I've ever had in my life. Our class started at 8:30 and she would start lecturing at 8:22 and mark you absent. She is super sassy and one time ridiculed the clothes we were wearing. If you hesitated saying the answer she would yell and embarrass you. Dropped random math essays on us too.
Mrs. Dougherty was so nice!! I loved her!
I hate math so difficult for me but the teacher is very nice. Allowed one paper of notes for exams so that helped.
THIS WAS THE EASIEST MATH CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN.She is very nice and told us you do not have to come to class.Honestly all the work is online and i stopped going after 2 weeks because it is THAT EASYThe only downside is you have to pay to take your exams but its whateverhe homework is a lot sometimes but just do not postpone it to the last minute
Really easy class. Professor is always willing to help with questions during office hours and after class. Professor gives the option to attend lectures on zoom which was really nice. Course work was completed before thanksgiving which was also really nice.
The overall content of this class is not hard, however, she is a terrible teacher. It covers math from kindergarten to 5th grade. Class is not mandatory but 50% of your grade comes from in-class quizzes that happen every day. Get the textbook before the 1st day of classes!!! You will have 3-5 hours of homework a week.Tests were sometimes open book.
It's a super easy class like she makes it really easy to pass the class. The only annoying thing is that she uses Proctor U and it's incredibly annoying to use and pay for. The material however is literally all laid out for you and kids math.
Professor can be super rude and did not care about my accommodations when it came to test, as if it's so hard to reopen the test. Does not care about student well being and just wants to get kids out of the class. Easy class, professor, not so.
Class itself was easy, but she was very disorganized, the moodle page was all over the place and was hard to navigate. Her notes are not very clear as well. She is not accessible outside of class and not very friendly. Rarely updates the grades. If you have LSU approved accommodations, she does not honor them.
This class is very easy and straightforward. Most of the time, you can learn the material by watching the videos through Pearson or looking at the textbook. However, Professor Dougherty is a character and can make the material more interesting. The only bad thing is that sometimes she repeats herself a lot, which can be annoying. To be continued...
As stated before, the class is very simple. Just make sure to stay on top of it by using the daily planner. That will be the key to you staying on top of your assignments, online quizzes and scheduling your exams through ProctorU. So, please, use the daily planner. Professor Dougherty will talk about this a lot, so use it!
Easy as pie. Ur allowed to retake the quizzes and homework enough that you are sure to get an A. Exams are literally the practice exams- I recommend taking them at least 1-2 times before the exam. Super easy and I'm bad at math. Would take again.
I had her for 1201 and found her to be very disorganized. She struggled to adapt to any delays or cancellations, and her daily diary of grades (how we knew what would be due) was often outdated, and she failed to accommodate for that. The material is easy, but her lack of organization was infuriating.
Her class is not worth taking at all. This professor will retaliate against the entire class, homework that is upwards of 80 Qs wherein you will also write&explain mental math, but the math is easy. If you think that going to office hours & showing you care will save you, trust in the words of most classes that it only puts a target on your back.
Attendance is not required. Everything's online. It's "football math". You do have to buy a Pearson math course and then everything you need is online. Just be careful on the final two tests that you pay attention to the rounding rules. They were a little weird. You'll be fine and this class is really hard to fail.
unbelievably easy like unbelievably. easy. like I would show the math to my friends and we would have a good chuckle. and i am usually so very bad at math. do not worry for a second about this class. also you should 1000% get everything done early. it is so very simple and you can get the credit out of the way long before the end of the semester.
Prof. Dougherty is the best math teacher I've ever had. I have never been good at math, but she makes it easy to understand. Homework is 50% of your grade and you have unlimited attempts on Pearson. Until the end of the course, nothing has a hard due date except for the two tests and the final exam.
I hate math and I absolutely loved this class and thrived in it.
I have always been really good at math and the class itself is not difficult but she always found away to make it this way. She is SUPER unorganized. Attendance was taken daily but sometimes your attendance was turning in your homework but if you got 1 problem wrong out of the 29 other problems that was automatically a 50%. DO NOT TAKE HER!!
This class is a breeze thanks to the clear structure and materials provided. The online quizzes and exams are super straightforward, and Unstuckstudy makes exam prep a breeze. Highly recommend for an easy A!
lots of work, but can be done at your own pace. If you are a large procrastinator, do not take this class since all of the work/tests are self paced and you decide when to complete the work.
Pretty easy class you just have to make sure you keep up. All hw's and quizzes are open the whole semester. The exams are the only thing that you have to schedule and take within a time-frame and you get a page to write a cheat sheet. But you have to pay $90 for you my math lab account and every time you schedule a exam it's $15.
The class was super helpful, but she seemed to be a bit disorganized. You often don't have enough time to study for the exams and it's pretty homework heavy. A little tip is to order your textbooks as soon as you register for the class, because you have homework the second week of class in.
My online course was basically outlined by her, and you took control of when you wanted to do things. She kept all work open for the entire semester except for exams. Stayed on top of grading every week, and also made sure to send inspirational emails to students to make sure they don't fall behind.
She's really not as bad as some of these reviews are making her out to be. Yes she does give a lot of homework but she also gives you a long time to do it. She also can be a little sassy but I found it funny.
It was an online class, but you could do the homework and quizzes at your own pace. However there are 3 exams you do on ProctorU so beware of that but just stay on a consistent pace with the assignments. It is not actual math, it is nature of mathematics but still relatively easy.
The instructor was very eased and communicates very well. The class has a lot of opportunities to pull your grade up.
completely online. I only went to class in the beginning of the semester and then just did all of it on my own pace. there are no due dates (only for exams) you just have to finish everything by the end of the semester. also VERY EASY material. VERY EASY a. take this class, she is great.
She's very kind and wants her students to do well. All tests and quizzes are done online. Nothing in her class is "due" until the very last day of the course, but I recommend staying on top of assignments just to keep the to do list short. Practice tests are almost identical to actual tests (easy A's). Very easy course.
Easiest math ever. All assignments are due at the end of the semester, except the first test. At first, it can seem like a lot, but it really isn't. Just don't fall super duper behind, and you'll be fine. The first and last tests are through Procter U, and you have to pay, but allows one sheet of notes. The second one is open note and unproctored.
If you are an early ed major, her class is required and she is the only professor I believe who teaches the class. So there is no getting around her. She's a fine teacher just not very friendly and makes the class feel extremely long. So much homework. Not a hard class but tedious and time consuming.
Super easy class grades were due at end of semester. If you do all 3 practice test she will let you retake the test
A teach yourself course. Homework is 50% of grade and very easy. You have to pay to take each test on a live proctored website. Easy A but you have to teach yourself.
The class isn't hard just having a lot of assignments. It is done on math lab, and the test are proctored. It isn't hard material just have stay with the course speed.
Dr. Dougherty is a great professor. I took her online Math 1101 and it was very easy. If you want a good grade, just do the homework which is open all semester, you also get 10 attempts on each quiz. Two tests are proctored, but one is not since it's open notes. As long as you get good grades on the HW and quizzes you will succeed in her class!
I wouldn't say she's necessarily a GOOD teacher... however this class is so incredibly easy it doesnt matter LOL. I recommend this to anyone and everyone. lots of homework, sure, but you can finish the whole course in a single week. ive NEVER passed a math class before, and this was my first! just be ready to pay for a $100 online textbook
Nice lady, very hands on. The class has a zoom where she is doing the work live, so you do not have to go in person but if you ask questions, you should. 2 proctored exams and 1 is not. all the Hw is due at the end of the semester but if you follow her calendar, it's like 3 a week so not too bad.
I don't know why other students rated her so low, but the class was fairly easy, everything was online here and self paced (everything is open for the entire year,) I will say that 2 test are proctored but the second test is not. So keep that in mind when picking an online class! Nothing in himes though!
A really easy A as long as you stay on track. She makes you an agenda that if you follow, allows you to finish the course before Thanksgiving. She would also send emails every week to keep you on track. Lecture videos were pretty helpful if you get stuck, but the content is insanely easy.
This is an extremely easy math class. The exams are proctored and it is easy material to teach yourself.
Class was completely fine until the end. I misread the syllabus and contacted her (for the first and only time) via email apologizing for my grading question and acknowledged that it was likely a stupid question and asked her for an explanation. I got back a very rude email with lots of CAPITALIZATIONS and extra punctuation.
I was nervous but it was really not that bad just A LOT of busy work but it does prepare you for being a future teacher She does talk a whole bunch and can sometimes be really confusing but she makes herself available outside of class and is pretty understanding. I would take her again if I needed to!
