Dr. Griffith is an amazing professor. She's not a drop dead funny type of professor, but she has her moments and manages to keep the lectures interesting. She really cares for her students and understands that chemistry isn't our favorite subject (because we're engineers). The course is difficult but she makes sure that we understand it.

I am working on my second bachelors degree, and of all of the professors I have had, she is by far the best. You definitely need to study for exams, but she makes sure to give you plenty of opportunities and materials to study. She gives you a ton of access to previous exams, and most of the questions on the exams were similar to the previous exams

CHEM135 with Dr. Griffith was fantastic! She was super understanding when I couldn't come to class and she sent me pre-recorded lectures from the previous year. Her lecture material is always well-organized and accessible. Also, make sure you come to class to answer clicker questions for credit. Highly recommend!

Griffith is the lesser of evils. She's very sweet and easy to reach. Although this class is very difficult and you definitely have to work for it.

Prof Griffith is a good professor teaching a bad class. CHEM135 is a very difficult class and it is pretty much impossible to make it enjoyable in my opinion. Griffith did her best to teach us the material given the short time frame to do so. I don't take any more chem classes but if I did I would take her. Shes personable and treats us w respect

Dr. Griffith made this class bearable. While the course is rather difficult, with Dr Griffith's teaching I felt prepared for the final. Her tests were hard but fair. Class was always pretty laid back and she'd banter with the students from time to time. Overall, Griffith is an excellent professor.

I spent more time on this 1 credit lab than all my other classes combined. Spend 20+ hours on a report and got a 53, class average was a 50. She didn't understand how much work she was assigning. Prelab, postlab, lit assignment, notebook grades every week. Barely got an A-. Very, very nice lady... awful class.

Griffith's exam complexity and digression from lecture material was upsetting. I studied more for this 2 credit class than any previous class. Exams were much harder than example problems we were given. I met with her for tips on how to improve my studying since I always got good grades with my study habits, she told me to "understand better" :(

Professor Griffith's CHEM135 is hard, that's nothing new. But she is a great professor to do it with. She explains things REALLY well. Her PowerPoints are well made (and evidently haven't changed much over the years), and discussions sections are a MUST. Also gives a lot of little extra credit clicker questions and super generous with the curve.

There's miscommunication between the TAs and Dr. Griffith, so it's better to go directly to her. I'll admit I came out of this class with a better grasp of writing lab reports, but I was incredibly stressed the entire semester so was it even worth it? She's a harsh grader, but approachable during office hours (always go to office hours when u can)

Dr. Griffith Herself is a nice person, but she's not exactly understanding at all. She goes 100% by her syllabus and does not allow extensions, extenuating circumstances, or any reason besides written letters to miss a lecture (which was Friday at 3 pm and worth 5 points each) Get ready for the hardest class you will take as a freshman

Dr. Griffith is a great person but a not-so-great professor. She is accessible after class and does give a lot of feedback, however, she is not very forgiving. She strictly follows her syllabus. Any late work and you will fail the class. Expect to spend 30+ hours on one report. The hardest into level class ever.

She gives a lot of extra credit; her class is hard, and you should be prepared to apply yourself to the fullest extent. It's the hardest class I've ever taken, but just know you will be challenged and learn a lot if you accept the challenge. She does not curve but does "grade cutoffs.".

Lots of material crammed into a small amount of class time. She gave notecards on tests which was nice. Recommend writing on a whiteboard and printing that picture out to put on the notecard. Other than that class material is posted on canvas. Discussions were kind of useless too but GO TO THE LECTURES.

She has very fast-paced lectures, and if you miss lecture then you should be prepared to study extra to keep up. However, she is quite generous with extra credit and puts bonus questions on every exam. She will slow down or re-explain things during lecture if you ask her to, and she is very clear in her teaching. Overall a great professor.
