She was a calm mellow person. It seems she was new to teaching. It was sometimes hard to understand what we were doing because she would talk out of subject and to herself. On final, we could write about anything that we learned in that class. Barely any testes. Easy A
Amazing teacher. is open and very accepting to people life situations that effect homework or attendance to class. very understanding. i looked forward to going to her class. light work load, but still a fair amount of writing that helps you expand your writing abilities.

Pretty sweet teacher. We watched movies and wrote papers about them. She seemed to be enjoying herself, and she made the class enjoyable for us. We barely even cracked either of the books that were "required," but I suppose that's forgivable. As long as you get your money back.
I think she is an amazing teacher! This is my first time back to school in awhile, and she not only made me feel comfortable but she sparked many new interests through her lessons. I like her so much, I'm going to look into another one of her classes.
Great teacher who gets everyone ready for the next levels of education! She makes class very enjoyable, and learning fun again. Best English teacher I have ever had!
extremely helpful and makes class fun and soo freakin hot
THie teach is a fire breather, no literally. She has a second job as a fire breather and her husband is becoming a UFC fighter. on top of that she is pretty laid back. SHe is always there when you need her, weather it be in class, on the phone, or email, she is willing to help. Take her class!!
Not the typical "easy A" english teacher for ENG101. Although you still have to try your best for an A, it's not impossible if you're confident with your English skills. She's willing to work with you and you're allowed to revise your work for the final portfolio. Highly recommended!
if you care about your grade dont take her.she rarely give A. she was the worse teacher ever had.just one person in our entire class got A-
SHE IS THE BEST ENGLISH TEACHER YOU'LL EVER HAVE, no seriously. She listens, she helps and she actually teaches. She's very young so she understands more modernized opinions more than the older teachers. She really know what she is doing, she grades fairly easy and grades on content, not opinions. TAKE THIS CLASS, you'll love it.
I expected English 101 to be an easy class, and I had high expectations from her after reading all the reviews. Attendance is mandatory, and we have a LOT of reading to do everyday. We do a lot of group discussions and in-class writing, and write long crical responses every week. If you don't like English that much, this class will be a bore.
This wasn't my favorite class, but not horrible either. Every night you read about a controversial topic and then have group discussions on it during class and write a response on it every week. She grades kind of based on her own opinion which sometimes is bad. It is interesting discussing the topics but I didn't learn a lot about writing skills.
Like most English classes, you just learn how to reason things critically without significantly improve your writing skill--which is why this class is ridiculously hard. In spite of that, she is a great teacher that values your hard work.
Professor Harazim is very friendly and open-minded. I tailor-made my schedule around taking her class because of her favorable reviews. The class was fun, however, I was disappointed that she never returned our grades for our final paper. She failed on several promises to us. I sense she was going through personal issues outside of class.
I absolutely LOVED this class. Lots of small group activities and thought provoking class discussion based on novels we read: Watchmen, Never Let Me Go, Handmaid's Tale, and Marisol. She is a great professor and I would definitely take a class from her again.
Very cool about essays and due dates. she really makes you want to learn more about the subject, she knows how to get your attention and interest you in what ever shes talking about. You help make the rules in the class for the quarter. THE BEST PART OF ALL SHE LISTENS TO EVERYONE!Take her class, just keep up with the readings and it will be a blast
Harazim is an amazing teacher overall, her teaching was extremely helpful and clear and I ended up learning a lot from her class/discussion. Her grading is fair and I love her personality! Extremely recommend this class.
the most considerate teacher ive seen out there. very lenient on assignments, and she teaches you meticulously.
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING TEACHER!!!!! I would highly recommend her as a teacher! Her class is super easy because there's no "wrong" answers so anything you write about, as long as its on topic and thought through, she'll approve. I LOVE LOVE LOVE HER!!!!! plus she's damn sexy and she's a fire breather!!!
Shes an AMAZING teacher!!! i highly recommend her to anyone and everyone. she is really open to new ideas and a fair grader. however ultimately she wants to see you succeed to the best of your ability. Shes the BEST English teacher at BC by far :)
BEST ENGLISH TEACHER EVER!!!! She's so nice and a really, really understanding person. She's really good at explaining things and when it comes to writing essays, she is your go-to teacher! I HIGHLY recommend her! I'm so sad her English 101 classes are full :( Looks like I have to wait until Spring Qtr. and try to register earlier!
Elizabeth by far is the best english teach i have had. She makes sure you understand how to do the work before assigning it and makes sure you have enough time to finish it. no text book was needed, all articles and assignments may be easily accessed on mybcc, if you want to become a better writer then take this class with her.
Best Eng teacher I've ever had. She pushes her students to have their own opinions & to be thought-provoking. If you're confused, she clarifies & answers questions. You can only fail by not showing up to class. Especially if you're taking 101, take Harazim.
Best teacher I ever had! She let us choose a topic theme for the quarter. Everyday we got into small groups which made time fly by. She slowed down the class when she wasn't sure we were ready. Attendance required. I highly recommend taking her (to dinner, jk, but she is hot).
Insanely difficult teacher/class. At the end of the quarter we discovered that your final grade was based on 3 essays and attendance. The readings are a bit depressing and the books are really long so read ahead. I wish we had more frequent, shorter essays for our grade in stead so we could track our progress. I wouldn't recommend this class.
Great instructor. Unlikely that you'll encounter a better looking one on campus. Whoa. Only wrote 3 essays all quarter. focus was on development and revision. Lots of revision. Lots of in class writing for development. Cool and interesting themes explored. There's some reading, but she gives plenty of time. Small group work and classwide seminars.
A great teacher. Read the readings in the book and you will succeed. Grades her essays moderately and the topics of the essay are quite intriguing. Her class involved a large amount of peer discussion and review.
Attendance mandatory if you want to succeed. Pleasant teacher, but the class moved in a direction/fashion that fun but opinion driven at times. Somewhat easy grader.
You have to do a lot of reading and writing, but it is what English 201 is. She is a very very nice person and I learn a lot from her. Highly recommend her classes.
She's so cool and nice and helpful. English 201 takes a lot of work but she is an awesome teacher who knows what she is talking about and really wants to help you learn it.
Online class. I learned a lot. But very difficult to communicate with. Email responses were delayed, if they came at all, and never addressed all concerns. She was not consistent with the syllabus and rarely reached out to the class. It was especially annoying when there was a delay in assignment updates, and very little feedback on graded work
Harazim is the best teacher I have every had in any class ever. She is clearly extremely intelligent and insightful. Everything you do builds toward the finals so they dont even feel difficult! I don't even like english but she has taught me how to think critically, analyze text, and the class is SO ENGAGING! I cannot reccomend her enough!!
She is the worst professor ever. Completely disorganized! Continuously says she'll give feedback on essay's, and assigns canvas assignments, but doesn't put them online! Take this class if you want to obtain no writing skills, cause she seems lost alot.
LOVE her. She is thought provoking! Controversial topics, a lot of writing freedom (which is challenging!), passionate, highly intelligent. She can be disorganized (especially on canvas) but is very very relaxed about deadlines etc. If you don't mind doing some deep thinking+ hard work, take her class. Best prof I've ever had.
I signed up for an English class, not a sociology class. She's hot and easy, though.
Favorite prof ever! I took 271 with her last quarter and 201 this quarter. Though she can be disorganized, she is very engaging and LOVES teaching. Highly intelligent. Controversial topics and great discussions. No textbook, you write 3 essays and several 500 word writing circles. The prompts are extremely loose so be creative.
I recently transferred from BC to WWU. For one of my education classes we had to write about the most inspirational teacher we had ever had. I didn't even have to take a second to think, my mind automatically jumped to Elizabeth. I absolutely adore her! She reignited my passion for learning and made me excited to go to class each day!
Elizabeth is an amazing instructor. She was extremely flexible with deadlines throughout the quarter and always willing to help. Elizabeth really cares about actually improving your writing skills. The only thing she could improve on was grading assignments, she was kind of slow to do that. Aside from that she is a terrific instructor.
She was incredibly clear with what she expected, and the resources she gave you helped. The textbook was not used at all, with essays every week (they were short and pretty simple) 5 responses to every essay, and weekly journals. Do all the assignments, even with half effort, and you are guaranteed a nice grade letter.
best instructor I have ever had!
BEST TEACHER EVER! Take a class with her if its the last thing you ever do! She actually loves teaching and it shows! She is so knowledgeable and is so helpful! You will never find another teacher like her! She is very smart and extremely caring! Her assignments are more than reasonable and her grading is always explained! Y
Elizabeth is a very nice instructor. She is supportive so just do your job and you will be fine.
The supplemental readings and examples inspired me to write about topics that matter in ways that matter, and I'm motivate to read about writers I admire and their works. The workloads were heavy and the feedbacks were few, but the instructor supported the students through the learning process. Even online, her presence were felt. Highly recommend!
Very serious about getting people to pass. Great recommendations for books and authors based on others you have enjoyed. She is wicked smart, and will ask you a lot of questions about practically any statement you make. Fantastic with following up to emails or questions, makes time for students, takes a general interest in the class and enjoys it.
She interacts with the class well. If you have a point to share with the class, she will challenge you and make you really think. Don't be afraid to speak up though, she won't embarrass you. She makes it feel like the whole class is working together to create an understanding.
No grading feedback throughout the quarter and communication was poor. When she finally grades all of your assignments at the end of the quarter and you finally see where you did well or not, she doesn't offer any help in improving your grade even though it's her fault she didn't provide feedback throughout the quarter. Would NOT recommend.
Elizabeth provides an excellent learning environments. The class is unique in its material and provides a platform for students to not only learn from one another but to really grow in their own understanding of what occurring on a global level. The opportunity to step outside of your own little bubble and see things in a new perspective. Loved it!
She is the best teacher you can have for creative writing!!! Inspires you, gives you hints and shorts of pieces of work to present the different styles of creative writing non-fiction, but gives you all the space you need to flourish as an artist ! even though it was an online class, the environment was full of talented students, POSITIVE!!!
Where Elizabeth lacks in grading time, she makes up for in class. There was a lot of reading and A LOT of writing! But the class itself was nice. She does give back good feedback on your papers, but when you ask for clarification, she will tell you that we will cover it in class and then you never do.
Best English teacher I have ever had; she is clear, helpful, and makes you think. I WISH I had taken her for English 201, but didn't due to a scheduling conflict. Recommended highly; she is fair but expects you to work.
I took a block Engl 101 & 244 (10 credits) with Harazim, and the homework load was ridiculous. Lots of daily reading, lots of weekly writing, and a few other projects over the course of the quarter. Not an easy class, and the assignments were vague at times, but definitely a cool professor. I would suggest her, if you're willing to work for it.
Elizabeth is a very caring, passionate teacher. However, she had no control or organization over her online class. Assignments and groups were frequently changed or deleted at the last minute, promised feedback never came & she would not get back to us over email or Canvas until you sent her a follow up message after a few days. Do not take online.
My 2nd time taking Elizabeth's class, first time on her online class. She is a very caring person and wants you to apply the material in daily life. The lectures (online and on campus) are amazing! The online class is a little hectic and disorganized and she was rarely present. Very self paced class and vague essay prompts, you write what you like.
Stay away. Online class was hectic and confusing. I have 2 essays due back to back on the last day of the quarter, assigned with 6 days left. Pdfs did not work, pages were locked, promised lectures that never happened, GRADES SUPER SLOW. Make friends in her class, you'll need it. The discussions were great though, which were student based.
Here's the deal with the online class. Yes, it's an easy A so long as you do the work, follow criteria, and participated. Everything was laid out, however, Professor Harazim was barely there and grading is very very slow. Nearing the end became very unorganized. So, if you're a religious procrastinator you will have a lot of issues.
This class is great for everyone who loves interesting discussion. Grading was very, very slow. Feedback is minimal or nonexistent. You need to be on top of all of your assignments. She had us get 3 books and we only ended up reading 1 in full and maybe 20 percent of the other two.
She has interesting perspectives on topics that are necessary to be discussed. Often get's of track within class and from potentially important assignments. Would definitely take again but maybe not for such a serious composition class.
I loved Elizabeth! Her class was so relaxed, we spent the entire course just having class discussions in groups on the readings that were assigned and about life so you need to participate. There were in class writing based on the readings so you have to read to pass. Weekly seminars and papers based on what the class discussed so pay attention!
It is really hard to contact her outside of class. marked me down for attendance while I showed up to all her classes. Assignment instructions and rubric are not clear. Really Tough grader. Always talks about how much she hate our current president and doesn't like people that disagree with her point of view.
takes awhile to grade & respond to emails. but gives good feedback, very flexible on extensions. 1. two dissuasions. 2. 1 essay. 3. gathering materials and has you do rough drafts that she grades and lets you correct for the final research paper thats 10-12 pages. the homework is basically rough draft for the research paper. - paper is the 'final'
I do not recommend this class to anyone that I know. She overloads with last minute assignments , and she repeats the same topic over and over again.
I would say she is a 4.2 out of 5. Her materials are definitely more interesting than other english teachers' and though she gives out daily reading, you would only have 3 seminars (3-5 comments) and 3 essays (4 pgs) to mind. You won't get essay rubrics until you get the grade, her organization loosens and due dates don't get posted near the end.
Her class is very unorganized and not structured well. She does not reply to emails addressing your concerns and the syllabus constantly changes. She will disappear in the middle of the quarter leaving the class hanging for a month of no work or communication with her. Easy A if you read and participate. If you want a solid education, stay away.
This was the WORST experience with any class. She was MIA for three weeks and did not grade our first three weeks worth of assignments until about week 6. There were research assignments due, but she hadn't provided any feedback from prior assignment. She assigned chap to read, but they did not correlate with quiz assigned-did not fix them either.
Stay far away. Extremely unorganized and it will completely mess your grade up. On multiple occasions she would write the tests on the wrong chapters, so you just have to read chapters she doesnt assign, she also taught a completely different class. The class was on the research paper but it was actually just a gender studies course. worst ever
I'd say the class I took was sort of a mixed bag. It felt to me like this was one of the first classes she ever taught. The material was interesting, to me at least. The assignments she gave were pretty open ended if that's your sort of thing. The assignments also tend to creep up on you. You have to be very vigilant. At least in my experience.
Bad teacher graded stuff late feedback wasn't helpful. only talked about politics in class (we watched an episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver in class). It was a hybrid class so we learned everything on our own online. We had a weekly 400 word assignment. 4 600-word seminars, and 4 research assignments. we had to do responses for each one
I think Mrs. Harazim is nice, she's a good teacher but does cancel class often. She likes to help students even if it's things that are not related to her class. For example, I asked her for help for a scholarship essay and she gladly accepted. I would take her classes again.
Do the work & you'll easily get an A! Elizabeth is very chill, took her hybrid class & honestly stopped showing up because the material was very simple. She mostly grades on participation, is flexible with deadlines and the content you study in the class is amazing. Seriously, if you are looking for an actually interesting English class this is it!
She is arrogant and rude. A teachers job is to help students learn and succeed. I took an online course, which I was new to,I had a little bit of a learning curve and missed assignments due to her messy modules, she wouldnt answer emails asking for help, homework issues, or late assignments. Tons of reading and papers not related to your thesis.
Most unorganized professor Ive ever had. Was literally MIA for 4 weeks and rushed to grade all five major research papers during the last week of the quarter. Probably didnt even read them because she gave full points for most of them. Doesnt really respond to emails. Do all the work and it should be an easy A but beware if looking to learn
There wasn't much organization or feedback in this class, but it was very easy to get an A in as long as you completed all the assignments on time.
Professor Harazim is a little slow in responding to emails, but is always helpful when she does respond. Moreover, attending her office hours allows one to overcome the e-mail difficulties. She's one of the few Professor's at BC who is impressively intelligent and is still active and in touch with English Academia - so you will learn a lot.
Took the online class and she doesnt care at all. Skips entire weeks and grades super harshly without a rubric or feedback. No communication and waits until the very last day to grade everything, leaving you without any idea throughout the quarter on how you do or what you can do to improve. Dont know how this is even allowed.
I seriously couldn't recommend an instructor more! She worked to catch me up to speed when I fell behind. All of her assignments are reasonable and meaningful. Just fill the brief on time and you'll get the credit. She's very kind and understanding and always willing to help. If I take another English class, she'll be my first choice!!! Thanks Liz!
Professor Harazim was difficult at best. This is due to her lack of communication and respect. I asked for feedback multiple times and she never acknowledged my emails. No explanation regarding the criteria being used for the grades given. During one lecture she was spinning the microphone so we couldn't hear her. She was the worst!
She's very obvious in her politics and the readings reflect it, but if you can withstand the bias for a quarter you'll be fine. She's a slow grader and responder. The rubric and assignments are very vague, but if you meet the word counts and turn it in on time you'll get an A. Interesting material, no feedback. Time-intensive work. I did it online.
This course inspired me so much & I truly feel liberated after this course. Prof. Harazim grades sporadically but always gives super thoughtful feedback & was very easy to talk w/ over message. Writing topics were extremely insightful- expect to do deep-thinking & inner-work. Stay on top of writing & write required replies & u'll do perfect
Extremely slow grader, instructions for assignemts are rarely clear, and oh boy get ready to do some "respond to 8 classmates" in this class.
I really enjoyed the material of this class and I could tell that Professor Harazim was equally passionate about the subjects, but prepare yourself to not know what your final grade is until it's already finalized since her grading is extremely sporadic and delayed. She's also a very tough grader on essays.
Teacher is extremely slow on grading - made the class way more stressful than how much it should have been. Provides good feedback on assignments. Inconsistent when it comes to replying to emails in a reasonable amount of time. Would not take this professor again.
Class is 90% discussion, no work in-class. One essay every 2 weeks, one free-write every 2-3 weeks, assigns reading but no work is done based on it. Brought up many philosophical questions, encouraged participation. Provided valuable and enlightening commentary on many different topics. Attitudes tended to be left-leaning.
Prof is very nice and fairly understanding. Prompts for assignments can be confusing and sometimes not entirely direct. I never received any feedback on my assignments so when it came to the last assignment it was very challenging. The textbook can be challenging to read especially if you aren't interested in economics or social studies.
She is a wonderful proffesor. There are anywhere between 2-4 essays, but they are pretty simple. If you go to class, ideas for what to say for the weekly discussion posts will be talked about. Overall, the class is a good fit for someone who is looking for a genuine an understanding professor.
Not a tough grader, and gives feedback, but not necessarily useful - she waits until the last week of the quarter to submit grades and doesn't really give constructive criticism, just commentary. Assignments aren't worth much individually, so you'll need to do all of them to pass with a good grade.
Wonderful professor! Took her for my ENG 101 class and if you actually listen and pay attention, you'll be fine.
The teacher is okay but not great. She uses an AI checker but doesn't really know how it works. I showed her I didn't use AI, but she didn't listen and gave me a zero. She said we could redo work, but then said no later. She's easy but I don't suggest her because she talks about politics a lot and is slow to grade.
The only thing I learned in this class was her political views. She would refer everything to politics and even go off topic talking about it. It was disappointing to come to class and learn very little about English or the assignments and only about what her views on politics are and how she feels about certain stuff.
Did not miss a single point in this class; grading was extremely straightforward as she provides a rubric on pretty much everything. DOES NOT GRADE ON GRAMMAR/spelling and discussion heavy. Clearly passionate/knowledgable. Does talk about politics but is very respectful if you have other opinions. Only issue is her feedback is vague sometimes.
I can't say I fully enjoyed this class. Most instructions were pretty confusing when it came to the descriptions. I found her very ghost-like; I would send her an email about an assignment up to 4 days before it was due, and she would only respond to me a few hrs before it was due, already turning it in and then got a bad grade bc i was confused.
This class was super easy i was expecting more but i barely did any work and the essay prompts are actually interesting and fun to write.
Amazing teacher, I don't know why anyone else would give less than a 5. Though it's a long class, it doesn't feel like it because she doesn't do traditional based lectures. Instead, it's more focused on having a conversation with the class and less “everyone needs to be quiet and I do all the talking while you take notes”. Open note quiz and groups
Elizabeth has been my favorite professor I've had at BC so far. Elizabeth is very self-aware and understanding of all of her students. She genuinely wants to hear from everyone in class. If you give her your time and attention, you are going to leave class with real knowledge and better critical thinking. Sad class is so long, but it's worth it!
I turned in all the assignments and she never graded any of them until the very last second of the quarter. I hardly learned any actual concepts on English&101 but rather this is her "Let me talk about my worldviews and politics101!" She jumps from random topic to random topic that does not pertain to any of our assignments.
Kind person but not really a good teacher. Learnt more about her political views than English prep, class is sometimes turned into political discussions. She's not really reachable outside of the classroom. Likes to grade things very slowly. Easy grader though. Class structure and assignment instructions were messy and vague at times.
-Paragraph-Style Discussions (on readings from textbook, any structure, 5-6 of them, min 500 words) -Hard deadlines can be from less than 1 week-2 weeks after original deadline -5 journals + 2 genre papers (personal experiences, min 650 words) -Peer reviews on genre papers (short-answer questions)
Cannot stress enough how fun this class way. Good engagement and the textbooks are focus on real life. The reading was super fun and we get to talk a lot during class. The projects have good time inbetween to really grasp what you want to write about. The only thing I didn't enjoy was responding to so many classmates on canvas discussions
I wont ever take her class again worst class ever, I'll never take her class again and for anyone reading this, DONT TAKE HER CLASS, Its hell on earth and test every class
Best professor I have ever. I have never met a teacher that cares more about their students than her. And if you show you tried on any work you will get an A. Lectures were very interesting and time flew.
