The worst professor I've ever had in my life!!! Her class is very confusing, and so is she. I would not be surprised to find out majority of her students failed her class. If you don't know your history, you won't learn any in her class!!!

This professor did not seem to know much about the information. This is understandable because she is a PhD in American History and this is World History. I was greatly disappointed. The paper structure was very difficult. If you are not good at writing do NOT take this professor. Actually no one really should take her class.

If you do not want to fail a class do not take this Professor. She rushes through her work, and when you ask a question she can't answer half the time. Her test are timed and online. So if you are a slow typest do not take this class.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!! she doesnt teach, her tests are have stupid questions, and she gives assignments back wayyy too late. The semester is over and im now getting back an assignment from september. If you want to be stress free and get a good grade do not take this class.

OMG, forget about the work. Let's focus on her organization. It's horrible, she loses everything, i mean she has even managed to lose papers that were STAPLED TOGETHER. Her lectures make no sense with the text she assigns, she jumps from topic to topic, NO SENSE. I'm fair when it comes to prof. but she is by far the worst one i EVER HAD.

this teacher did not give the syllabus until three weeks into the class. She was never clear on what has to be done in class and when work had to be given in. Professor Hovey did not give the topics for the midterm until last minute leaving the class unaware of what needed to be studied,

WORST, WORST, WORST Professor in HISTORY (pun intended) NO orginization, NO clarity, If I could rewind time I would get out of her class now, haven't gotten my grade yet but I'm afraid i failed. Oh and there's this stupid role playing you have to play where u have to read a whole book in essentially two days and make presentations. WORST Prof EVER!

Professor came into class on the first day and announced her adult ADD. Then explained she's attempting to be off meds. No student would be given the same leverage in being disorganized or verbally combatative as she liberally takes. Her use of blackboard is mind bending. Example: Instead of calling the syllabus as such it's labelled "the essence"

A horrible professor. She knows her stuff but she don't know how to teach. She constantly loses students' work and goes off topic. She can never answer a question and the midterm requires you to know 1000 years of history in detail. It's not even multiple choice. Don't take this class. You won't learn a thing and it'll ruin your GPA.

She does not cover the material needed for the midterm, nor does she give the midterm study packet to us in time. Sets guidelines and specific dates, but does not follow any of them. Leaves her students in total confusion, with no idea how they are doing in the class, or when deadlines are. Not helpful. Somewhat nice woman, but bad teacher.

HORRIBLE ! this professor literally sounds like she doesn't know what she's teaching. I have done everything she with a good grade and b on the midterm and I am still getting a c in her class .let me not forget the two books she wants you to read at the end of the class and the play that is mandatory to participate in its ridiculous

She is extremely unorganized and vague and makes you participate in this ridiculous role play game about Anne Hutchinson's trial and then after you finish that abomination, she assigns several readings per class which are pretty long and tedious and then has 2 groups present each topic so she doesn't have to teach. Also, super vague study sheet.

She is so unorganized, she will post homework at 11pm and have it due the next day. her instructions are not thorough and she uses vocabulary that only a historian can understand. she makes u go on a tour of greenwich on a day we have off, and you have homework due every day. she will loose your stuff too. don't take her!

The most unorganized professor I have ever had. The amount of confusion on what was due the next class was astounding and even if you completed the work chances are she would lose and misplace your paperwork. I absolutely love history but this class has very little to do with actual history. No one in my class ever had any idea what was going on.

Very unorganized and unwilling to provide help outside of class time because shes "only paid for one extra hour outside of classtime". Assignment details and due dates were never clear and what she taught did not match the course description. Overall a very unprofessional professor and I recommend avoiding her at ALL COSTS!

If I could give her a 0 rating, I would. She's easily the most disorganized professor I've ever had, and she never made anything clear. It's amazing how oblivious she was to the constant confusion she caused. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS! How she even has a job as a professor is an abomination. She caused me so much unnecessary stress on a weekly basis.

Her class was so unclear. Trying to figure out requirements and due dates was impossible, and even when you asked clarifying questions she just made it more unclear. Maybe it was different pre-COVID, but don't take her online class. She grades tough because she doesn't give you the requirements for her assignments, nothing makes sense at all.

This professor got issues. No way in hell does she think every student has free time to talk at either 11pm at night or 3am in the morning. She gets student phone numbers and randomly calls them instead of using Blackboard and even if she does, the contents are messy and completely incomprehensible.

Prof. Hovey is extremely passive-aggressive and difficult to work with. She never fails to deter the topic of discussion from going on a tangent and does not start grading until the last minute. Professor Elizabeth Hovey frequently talks about personal topics unrelated to the course. Her assignments are confusing with vague instructions, and she harshly penalizes minor formatting errors. She often starts or ends class late, causing disruptions to students' schedules and making it hard to focus.

she talks a lot in class and sometimes what she's talking about isn't even on the main topic of what we're supposed to be learning so in the end we wasted class time and have little time to do group works

This professor makes students want to drop out of school. She is terrible at everything and doesn't know how to explain anything. She always makes stuff hard, even the simple things. She thinks she is an English professor. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS.

She is not online savvy at all, so you will have to take matters into your own hands to navigate through her chaos. Avoid this class to save your sanity! She is at the very last minute with everything, which will put your credits at stake. It seems like she has your best interest at heart, but she is just a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Hovey overall lacked structure she'd never mention any assignments, it was 100% up to us to just know (especially as first year students.) More importantly, she had a downright deplorable attitude toward EVERYTHING. Barely took attendance and last minute tried to accuse me of never showing up to class and lowered my final grade. Professor gives attitude when others are asking questions for an assignment and she makes up absences when I been going to class and I was absent one time. I remember last semester when I drop an another course for this course I was letting this instructor know and she was yelling and threatening to remove me from this class.

I have never used this site to rate until now. That being said this is the worst class I have ever been misfortunate enough to take. The “professor” is incredibly passive aggressive to students for the smallest mistakes, disorganized with her lectures and assignments. If God-willing please do not ever take a class where this prof is the instructor.
