She is the wrost teacher. She his opinions on how your style of sriting should be. DO NOT take her if you think ur gonna get an A in her class. She should teach for graduate students instead of student that are "LEARNING", she makes you do word count, margins, everything that is tedious. It doesn't teach anything about english. DROP her class.

Horrible teacher. seriously, stay as far away as possible! completely unfair and extremely rude. I took her class at 8am, the first day she told us to be on time or dont come at all. She yelled at a student in front of the class about private matter and told them to get out of the class and reported the student to the dean. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!

Be to class on time definitely and take this course only if you enjoy reading plays and analyzing them into essays. She is not an understanding grader, very strict. If you need a Challenge in english writing; then this is the course for you. Otherwise be aware, because it is difficult; I think just for the entertainment of the teacher.Be aware.

She is a horrible professor. Her exams have nothing to do with what was discussed in class. Hates all men and wants to see everybody like that. Extremelly tough grader. But she is not a bad person, although it does not make it a good reason to take her class. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!

Disappointing class and impossible professor. The first paper I got back was LITTERED with comments in red ink - what kind of grading is that?! I'm not an English major! I do not intend to be an expert in writing, nor do I care to be. I'm smart enough to write a decent enough paper, perhaps MORE than decent. Huergo should be fired.

This woman is a nut. she does not interact with the class, hand papers back, or even respond to e-mails with the interest of wanting to help. if i e-mailed you i did not want the response " take more time reading the instructions" i emailed her for the help in clarifying the instructions i read! she can not teach.

Really Horrible. Looks down on students and clearly believes she belongs someplace better, which she does not. Her grading makes no sense, and does not think she needs to provide feedback. DEFINITELY EGOTISTIC. Do not take this class!! there are many far better professors teaching this course. It is a students responsibility to get rid of her. BAD.

She sucks.....doesn't help at all - just makes things more complicating. She has a huge ego always reminding students she went to Brown. She belittles everybody. Save yourself some respect and money and don't take her.

At first, she seemed rather interested in the subject, however she would never have anything ready in time. Our assignments were pushed back over and over again due to her lack of clarification, lack of responsibility and complete negligence. Also, she has absolutely no respect for her students. Do not take if you want to learn anything.

She's horrible, she misses so many classes. With only a month left of class and shes only graded two things and posted online which are from the second week of class. She'll post a new assignment up on blackboard a week before the due date but she won't post the actual prompt for the essay until four days before the due date. Don't take her class.

The worst teacher ever. I took this class online, and I personally asked for help throughout the ENTIRE semester and not a single response from her. You will struggle this and teacher has her Ph.D but will grade you like you're about to receive your Ph.D as well. She never responds, and she takes DECADES to grade an assignment. Save your time & $$

I did this course online and accelerated. I loved the course material, but the professor made everything much harder than it should have been. She took ages to grade assignments, and I'm still waiting to hear what grade I had on six of my assignments. She didn't even answered my emails when I asked her about them. She doesn't answer emails period.

This professor does not know how to teach. I am serious. Probably the worst professor at Mason.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to take this professor! I've written many essays in my reading95 class and didn't get anything lower than a B and in her class the highest grade I got on my essays was a C-.

There is nobody I hate more than professor Huergo on the planet. She failed to enter over 250 points of assignments into the grade book that I submitted, even submitted one of those assignments with her in class, and when I emailed her to confront her about the issue she acted like a retard. You will struggle in this class, she gives a ton of homework. If most of your class doesn't read, she won't even bother with the book discussion. She doesn't have a lot of patience, she tries to help but honestly if you don't put your part in it, she won't bother to help at all. I wish I would have checked her reviews sooner to drop this class :/

One of the worst professors I have ever had. Graded entirely from a checklist, gave feedback way after it was relevant, and had no creativity in teaching style. Could be replaced by a robot/10.

This was by far the worst academic experience I've had in my 17 years of education. I had to turn in assignments 2-3 times for her to grade them and even then she claimed she didn't receive some of my work . When I tried to appeal my grade she called me malicious. This unprofessional woman does not deserve to be a teacher. For your sake, avoid her.

Returns essays w/ feedback too late for you to correct them, gives a vague explanation of why points were taken & take forever to answer emails. This class was the worst class I've taken in my life. PLEASE STAY AWAY from THIS PROFESSOR.

Always took 3-4 weeks to grade things and never gave feedback. When I emailed her asking why she was taking off points for sourcing, after 4 emails she sent me a link to a website and look for the difference between theirs and mine. Isn't that her job? Would avoid if at all possible.

SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE + MONEY! Worst lectures, worst grading, extremely bias. This woman literally told me mid-semester, its okay to fail one class. . . AS I WAS CRYING. I cried because she wouldnt give me clear instructions, as though she was incapable of doing that.

If you are registering late and she's the only teacher available, run. Take the course next semester, anything! A lot of the reviews on here are true about late grading and random course cancellation. I am a fool for not reading them before I took the class. Currently in the class. She gives more attention to her favorite students. After the lecture it gets quiet and we are not allowed to talk! IT GETS REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE!! She doesn't explain assignments clearly. And doesn't really care for any of her students and GIVES NO FEEDBACK! You have been warned. Run while you can.

If you plan on taking her english class get ready to learn a lot about climate change idk why but all of our work from unit a to unit e has something to do with climate change from feel more like an environmental class then an english class she also makes it very obvious who her favorite students are and takes forever to grade your work

This class has been a nightmare for me. No matter how much effort you put on this class, you may not get the grade you desire. In addition, get prepared, because you are going to discuss ONLY ONE TOPIC throughout the whole semester. This class has been monotonous and really painful, I hope I do not take this class again. You have been warned.

This professor has got serious issues with grading system. She turns in paper grades a month after submission when we are made to work hard and turn them in early, and new assignments are given every week. I'm barely coping with 6 hours of essay work. You join this class and you'd hate English essay writing for life.

She gave us no feedback on our papers we had workshops with our peers and the were as lost as I was. I ended up getting Ds on my papers and I didnt know what was wrong.

Do not be fooled. She seems like the sweetest woman on earth when you first meet her but after the first day of class, its all downhill from there. I am currently retaking 101 because she just broke me as a writer. Her feedback was never substantive and you spend all your life writing about climate change. RUN!!!!

In spite of the bad reviews, I wanted to give her a chance. I'm sorry I did. She embarrasses students in front of the class, takes forever to grade, grades harshly without input on how to improve. When responding in class, she interrupted me and told me not to use the words, "like" and "if." She only talks about climate change. Don't take her class

The WORST teacher I've ever had. Takes FOREVER (over a month sometimes!) to grade assignments. When you finally do get your grade there is little to absolutely no feedback. Gave the entire class 0's twice, had us rewrite our essays with the only feedback being to "reread the instructions" Stuck up & condescending. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!

Where do I even start? I'd literally have anxiety attacks every time she'd post a grade. She takes WEEKS to return an essay, and by then we have already done two more. Her feedback is terrible and completely not specific on what she wants us to do. She had me thinking I was stupid or something, DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS PLEASE DONT !!!!!!!

Ive only been in her class for a few weeks and I wish I wouldve seen this page earlier. Everything you see here is accurate. Shes very passive aggressive and being in her class is so dreadful. She seems to have a very big ego as well. Youd be better off not taking her class.

The worst english professor I have ever had. Expected participation but if it wasn't the answer she wanted she would interrupt you or being super condescending. Would say "you can do whatever you want" but you could tell she wanted things a specific way (her way). Don't take her, if she's your only option wait for next semester.

She gives awful instructions and keeps telling us (her 7 week accelerated class) to be ready for the speed of class but she herself isn't ready for it. Worst professor ever. Currently taking her online course. Criteria for most assignments tells us to base our work off of feedback provided but feedback is never given as she never grades work on time. It's not fair that we're expected to be responsible and get things in on time whilst the professor can barely do so herself. would rate zero if I could. Don't register.

Do not take Huergo's classes. The lectures were dry and boring. She was condescending and she did not give back grades. No feedback made it difficult to follow her own advice to base future work on past feedback. She seemed to like embarrassing people by spending the whole class criticizing people's work and just being a mean person.

Genuinely the worst professor I've ever had, I'm shocked I finished with a B. Very condescending, rude, and her directions are unclear. Very anal about cameras being on & attendance/participation is for a grade. You will be reading and writing about climate change for the entire semester. Please pick another prof if at all possible.

For the entire semester, we had to write about climate change. She would then get upset that no one wanted to interact in class because we were tired of the topic. She never returned graded work in time, we would have to write essays using previous ones, but we wouldn't have our previous essay back in time to use any feedback she would give.

Professor Huergo unfortunately fails to provide any substantive feedback for any assignment, only referring to past assignments with similar feedback. She does not give any direct responses in emails. In this course, Professor Huergo has referred the class and myself to go to the library for assistance since most of the class failed a assignment.

Avoid this class if possible. The professor can be very difficult, with unclear instructions and little feedback. However, using resources like Unstuck ai for study prep can help manage the workload.

This class has been frustrating never grades on time, gives the same feedback, and doesn't answer questions clearly. When I ask for help, I'm told to "read the directions" instead of getting an explanation. workload is heavy and submitting early means no feedback until the due date. The tone in responses feels rude, making it hard to ask for help.

I just dropped this asynchronous class. This woman does not respond to email messages about anything. Issues with online quizzes - you hear nothing. Questions about assignments - crickets. I finally went to the Dean, who advised me to drop the class - so I did. Avoid her like you would the plague.

I took her asynchronous class online, and the feedback she gives back is always the same. She often gives a lot of points for certain things, and I shouldn't have been deducted that number of points for a little mistake or something I did. She is always very nitpicky with everything and doesn't give clear instructions. I don't recommend her at all.

Do not take a class with this professor. She is so late when grading things and doing rough drafts, she gives feedback after we have already turned in the final draft, so it's too late to go and fix things. Her feedback isn't helpful, and she is so nitpicky about everything. I would highly recommend choosing someone else since she is a bad teacher.

She is so unreasonable when grading so harshly. The instructions for the assignments aren't even that clear and she gives feedback that isn't even helpful at all. Not to mention how late she is when grading things. The rough draft was graded after the final draft was already due and the feedback given couldn't even be incorporated into the essay.

Professor was always late to respond and grade assignments. Not helpful at all and seemed like they didn't care about the students or the class. Would not recommend. Avoid this class, and try to take another professor or skip that semester if all good ones are taken.

SHE is the worst proffesor at Mc does not check emails grade like 3 weeks late and uses ai to grade her assignments.

was an F1 student and was dropped of her course because I've sent a homework late . She does not care at all, I lost my uncle but it meant nothing for her . She never replied to my emails back and because of her I almost had juridiction problems. Never take her course , she is Racist .

Doesn't give feedback until late and then I'm left with feedback that server's no purpose. We are already moved into another week and she just giving feedback from a assignment done almost a week ago.

If I had to give her a 0, then I would. I have trauma with ENGL102 because of taking her class which resulted me failing the first time. She is extremely slow with grading and her feedback was very unconstructive. She never responds to e-mails either, or when the semester was about to end, she barely even graded half of the assignments.

She is not a very good teacher and is always giving back work way later than when it was turned in. Also, she is a very tough grader, with assignments that I follow all the instructions, but she ends up being so nitpicky. I would recommend getting ANY other teacher than HER. If you want to have a positive learning environment, choose someone else.

I'm not lying when I say she is the worst teacher I've ever had in my life. She is very strict and is very disorganized and unreasonable. She hands in work so late and the feedback is not even helpful in the slightest. Oh my gosh. She made this class feel like so much torture because she is terrible at giving instructions and teaching. She is a very hard grader and takes points off of things that weren't even mentioned on the rubric. Trust me when I say DO NOT TRY TO HAVE HER AS A PROFESSOR. Literally any professor would be a better option. She made several sad.

She takes months to grade, the assignments are marked late before the deadline, and you get an automatic zero even if you turned it in before the deadline. She doesn't let you turn your camera off to use the bathroom she will mark you absent for it and the reading for the essays are uninteresting and convoluted.

I agree with everyone else. Doesn't grade anything, and said everyone failed when she did. Most of the class is her scolding people... Doesn't explain anything at the beginning of the assignment and calls you out one by one telling you why its wrong based on new information. She argues with her dog most classes... Very belittling. Dont do it.

TERRIBLE. how has no one reported her? she's extremely rude. takes months to grade. doesn't actually give feedback about anything on the paper. everyone in the class has an extremely low grade. if you ask questions she shuts you down. humiliates students in class and debates them. she doesn't teach like this is an introduction class.
