great professor, knows her stuff & teaches it well!
fascinating material, just tough stuff! sweet lady who wants to help!
brilliant, helpful and kind. You couldn't hope for a better teacher...........oh, and talk about hot! this one is off the scale, oooooh mama!
Dr. Jones is really intelligent. Her class is interesting and fun. She is the best teacher I've had at ECU. She is very helpfull and really makes it a priotity to make her students learn the material.
She knows her stuff and knows how to teach it so you know it too! She makes awesome analogies and really helps you understand the material. Her tests are fair and straight from the notes (which she types out for you!)
She is a sweet lady in class but i have heard she can be mean in person. Material is rough but interesting. She is very picky and tricky on her tests.
Glad it's over!!!!!!! She is a very good teacher and a sweet lady. The material is just tough
She is hard but walks you through it. By far the best professor I have had.
Very helpful but only to an extent. The material is hard and you need to study it. Come to class and you should be fine.
Was so awesome, cute accent, very clear and really explains things well. You have to memorize her notes but if you do that, you'll make good grades on her tests. You can't crame for this class, space it out and you'll make an A.
Very good teacher, however you need to go to class. Don't expect her to curve your grade. Her notes are her test, if you look over them every night for 20-30min...you will get an A, no problem.
Dr. Jones is a wonderful professor. She gives good lectures and makes good analogies. Her test comes straight from the lecture notes. I rarely used by book to study.
The material is hard. She explains it well though and is very helpful. Her tests are very picky and you need to know the material well. Does not offer EC. Takes attendance.
Great professor. Not too hard, tests are fair and not too detailed. Attendance is optional, but no Extra Credit...ever! Very nice and easy to understand.
If you don't like to study, don't take this class. There is a lot of material that you are required to know in order to do well on the test!! I thought I was ready for this class..but apparently not if I have to retake it! ~sad but true.
Very Very GOOD teacher. Material is very in depth but she reviews everything you are expected to know. Her tests come straight from her notes, she will not give trick questions. No extra credit at all but study and you'll do fine. Very Nice lady. best professor I have ever had! Highly reccomended!
Dr. Jones is a great professor. She explains things very well so you can understand them. Her test comes straight from the notes so study them VERY good. No extra credit though. If you study hard you won't need it. I highly recommend her.
EASY! Her tests come word for word from her notes on blackboard. She is a great professor, she knows her stuff and is very willing to help you. No attendence policy and no extra credit. Definately take her if you have the chance.
IF you need to take bio, take Jones!!! Can't stress enough what a good, thorough professor she is. Very good analogies, very interesting, I don't think anyone could teach this material better than her. Tests come strait from the notes she puts on blackboard. GO TO CLASS for a good grade!!!
The material for this class was very hard and she offered no extra credit opportunities. I would not recommend taking her. DON'T DO THIS TO YOURSELF!
She is a good teacher. The class is a little harder than 2141, and you have to study more. Review the notes every night and you should be fine. The tests are a little tricky, but if you study you should get an A
Dr. Jones is an awesome professor. Besides her England accent, her test her pretty straight forward. Every time she goes over a lecture just make sure you go over the lecture that night to retain the information.
She is a great teacher. It is a little hard to stay awake in her class in the morning, but overrall her tests are sraight from the notes.
Very nice, helpful, clear. Lecture notes are on blackboard. Love the accent
This lady is a good straight forward teacher with very hard and detailed exams, doesn't drop any grades, no extra credit, wont give extra credit or a curve if her life depended on it, and if you mak a 69.43 then that is exactly what you get! no boosts. But she is a good clear teacher.
very hard exams!
I love her. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had. If you study your notes and go to class I think there is no reason you cant make an A or B. notes are on blackboard pwrpt, get a study friend it will force you to study.
Great teacher, tests straight from the notes. Tests aren't hard at all if you study. I never use the book for class, but it is helpful for lab.
Class more study-intensive than 2140, but if you go to class every day, take thorough notes, stay awake, study for each exam (minimum of 4 hours or so), you should have a B no problem. Take the time to review every day after her lecture and it make come even easier for you. I didn't have time for that, so had to cram lots of time into the tests.
Easier class than you may think. Test are straight foward, didn't buy the book only used notes and mayed an A. Just go to class and study her notes and you'll do fine!
My favorite prof. at ECU. Wonderful teacher with intense lectures. Go to class... make an A. Don't go to class... make a B. Tests come exactly from notes. It is harder than 2140!
Fantastic teacher! Most important part is to attend class and review well before the test and you are garenteed a B if not an A. She's a wonderful teacher and very helpful, notes and visuals in class
She is really nice & gives you good examples to help clarify the topic. In order to get those examples you have to attend class everyday & pay attention. She's cool though
Awesome professor. Exams are simple, IF you study the notes. Her tests are the notes! Going to class is a must! You will definately get an A if you go to class and read the notes
If you go to class, you're NOT going to just get an A. You have to study your freakin butt off!!!!!
Very hard class, but Dr. Jones is an EXCELLENT professor. Actually makes it quite interesting. Easy to understand with her analogies and stories that help make the vague concepts make sense. If you need this class, definately take her for it. And be prepared to study your "you know what" off!
Professor Jones was overall a really good teacher...I had already taken biology 2140 in the summer and started off going to class every day. I changed my major and no longer needed this class and could not drop it. I was very burned out on nursing. I quit going and I failed but if you go and put in effort you should have no trouble passing.
Dr. Jones is a good professor. The material is not easy, so you need to definitely go to class. She teaches right from the notes, but the reinforcement is helpful. Don't expect to not work hard for this class. I ended up with a C but I could have done better for sure.
She is very nice, and makes the material as interesting as possible. Attendance isn't mandatory, but definitely helps, she tells you a lot that isn't in the notes. I got a B without going to class as much as I should have, or studying hours and hours like everyone. If I had, I probably could have made an A.
nice teacher with a cool english accent, all notes are on blackboard and attendance isn't mandatory, but, you should def go to class, because she gives out info that isn't in the notes that WILL be on the test, i pulled a C in the class cuz i didn't attend much at all, so go to class
This class is really hard! I studied my butt off for a C, and I only missed 2 class sessions, read the book and the notes too! Her tests are from the notes, but they are very specific and detailed, the class average of all of them being around the 60-70 range. Good luck on the tests if you are taking Prof. Jones, you're going to need it!
DR Jones is very strict. Attendance is not required, but she recommends it. She did offer 5 points extra credit to our final grades this semester, when in 2140 she said she doesn't give extra credit. some things she says is hard to understand because of her accent. she is very enthusiastic about what she does.
I enjoyed the course. Tests are fairly easy as long as you keep up with the studying and take the class seriously. 90% of the test comes straight from the notes. The final exam was my worst grade..... Study, go to class, take it seriously and you'll get an A or B...
Dr. Jones is one of the best professors i've ever had! she is a stellar woman...head of the bio dept, a woman, a doctor... i loved her and her class was very interesting. she's got a cool accent too : ) take her class if at all possible!
Dr. Jones is one of the best. She relaly knows her stuff and explains everything so well. Attendence is not mandatory, but if you want a good grade then go to class. All of her notes are online, but during class she adds to the notes, and that information will be on the test. It is a hard subject, but Dr. Jones makes it easier to understand.
Dr. Jones is a very good professor. She explains things over and over until you get it. Very nice lady, however you must come to class if you expect a good grade. She does allow you to print out notes but she does include somethings on the test that were not typed in the notes. We look at real life application of A&P. TAKE IT!
Great teacher. She is the only one teaching the anatomy courses but at least she is a really good one for the job. She goes over everything and cares about the class getting good grades on the exams. The book is said to be required, but I have not laid a finger on it. **EVERY** exam I have taken, we just look over the packets we print out and bring
WoW... what can I say. This is probably the most work I have ever had to do for a class. Decent professor, but there is so much material that has to be covered- be ready to work.
Not going to lie, the class is pretty hard. Attendance is not mandatory, but going to class would really help. Tests are hard, but not impossible. She is a great teacher, and really knows her stuff; you can tell she loves teaching the class.
Class is hard!!! Dont use the text book, just her notes. test are HARD!!! good teacher but hard class.
She is an EXCELLENT teacher!! I wish every teacher was this nice and easy to understand. Showing up for class definately makes a difference comes test time.
By far one of my favorite professors at ECU; she KNOWS her stuff, that's no lie. She's always willing to help you, as long as you're making sure to help yourself. Definitely need to study in advance to do well on her tests because it is an enormous amount of material for every test. BE PREPARED TO STUDY HARD!
Dr. Jones is an amazing teacher. The class is very hard and the material is challenging. If you have good attendence and spend a lot of time studying, then you'll get an A. I NEVER used the textbook, just the CD that comes with it. The test come straight from her notes. She doesn't curve grades so what you earn is what you get!
If you can't pass Dr. Jones' class, you have no business going into healthcare, especially Nursing! And you definitly wo't pass Nursing classes if you can't pass this class. Infact, you probably won't even get into Nursing School if you have less than a B in here!
Dr. Jones is a great teacher. She is very thorough in her lessons. I ended up with a B in the class, it could have been an A but I underestimated her first test. Her tests are very detailed. Don't buy the book, its useless. Read the notes you print from blackboard and add what she says in class to them and you should do fairly well.! GOOD LUCK!
Dr. Jones is a great professor. The material is not that easy, but if you study you can do well. Her exams aren't extremely difficult- if you really study your notes you'll do fine.
Dr. Jones knows what she is talking about! Her class is difficult but her tests come straight from the notes; but you have to study hard! Attendance not required but I recommend going to every class! Very nice lady and very willing to help...just be ready to STUDY A LOT!!!!
Taking the class for the 2nd time. Still hard. she puts way to much stuff on each test. Got an F the first time just hoping for a C now. Can do well if you devote your life to Biol and thats all you do everyday. But let's be real no one does that. Take class during summer with an easier professor.
Great class, you can easily make an A if you just study. People who makes C's, D's, and F's are the people who don't study, don't care, or are just plain stupid. She's always willing to help and the extra 5 points for volunteer credit are well worth it!
GREAT Class!! I enjoyed and learned alot the trick is study your notes, write what you know after studying and you will do fine, it helps if you attend and not miss any class.
Dr. Jones is an amazing teacher & explains things very well but her tests are difficult even if you study your butt off! You have to know every word on every page of about 50 pgs of notes for the tests in order to do good! She warns everyone in the beginning that about 55% of the class will fail. kinda scary..you just have to be a devoted student.
this class is extremely difficult. But Dr. Jones explains things extremely well in class. You HAVE to study or you will fail the tests because they are very in depth and hard but overall she is a good professor.
For this class you HAVE to study...packets and packets of information. To pass this class you should start studying on the FIRST day of class. I hated it because it was like being in two classes instead of one b/c of all the info we had to learn. Just pay attention to the things she repeats in class.
Dr. Jones is a great teacher. She really knows the material and is great at explaining it. She teaches straight from the powerpoints and if you don't understand something ask her or the book does a good job at explaining it too. Anatomy is not an easy subject, going to class and paying attention should get you at least a B.
Dr. Jones is a great teacher. She really knows the material and is great at explaining it. She teaches straight from the powerpoints and if you don't understand something ask her or the book does a good job at explaining it too. Anatomy is not an easy subject, going to class and paying attention should get you at least a B.
Dr. Jones is a horrible teacher. I did not like her at all. She does not know how to explain anything. She needs to transfer to another school. Surprised she got a degree.
Nice woman with a sweet accent which made me listen more. The class is just straight up hard so you really need to read! she has all the lecture notes in a book which was awesome BUY IT! Overall she was a good teacher very passionate about Anatomy.
Dr. Jones is a really good professor. Anatomy isn't an easy subject but she does her best to try and simplify the information so that you can understand it better. She is really helpful also. You can go to her during her office hours and she will explain to you anything that you don't understand.
let's just say she knows her stuff maybe a little bit too well & picks out the bits and pieces for exam rather than just the major concepts. she is very smart, but doesn't give her students enough credit for how tough the course is.
Dr. Jones is by far the best teacher Ive had in college. It's a hard course, but study enough and you can get an A. Attendance isnt mandatory but GO, she is really good at explaining things! GREAT TEACHER!
Jones is one of the best teachers ever! This class is very hard and you must attend class. There are 4 tests and a final. The lab is not required at the same but but it will help in the long run.
Great professor. She really tries to help you. This subject is hard and she is trying to make it as easy as can be. Her tests are hard and this class takes some hard work.
Hard class, if you put in the effort you'll be ok. she's the only teacher for it so you have to take her either way. make sure you pay attention.
Mrs.Jones is well organized and well spoken. She has absolutely no surprises, go to class, read her notes multiple times and there are NO excuses for getting less than a B. An A is highly achievable, the material on the test comes directly from her notes. If all prof. were as well put together as she is, this university would be best in the state.
Dr. Jones is a good prof. The class itself isn't too hard . You really only need to study the day before the test. The text book is a waste of money though. I would recommend finding someone who already took the class and borrow their notes so you do not have to spend $300 on a book you never use.
Easy only went to class 6 times first day and all the tests..made an easy B..just read the lecture notes
She's ok as a professor. Really anal about little things though. In the long run her class isn't all that important, you just have to study the notes.
Dr. Jones is teacher that you must go to class for to "understand" the material. You really have to listen to her. It is possible to get a A or high B in the class if you study notes and actually do the practice questions she provides.
Nice lady!! Tells you day one that only about 30-40% of the class will pass the class!! You have to be dedicated to learn the material!! Textbook bundle is overpriced (300+), find some one with the lecture notebook, I never cracked the big book!
Dr. Jones is easily one of the most proficient teachers I have had. She breaks everything down into simple terms and really knows how to get the concepts across without students getting lost. You will definitely enjoy her as a professor. She is excellent at her job and she is really nice.
Dr, jones is one the the best professors at ecu. Her test are from the lecture notes and she added questions from the reading section out of the text book. You have to study, there's no way around it. She's willing to help anyone out but she doesn't curve tests. Take anatomy with dr, jones and you will not regret it.
Dr. Jones is an amazing professor who is really good at doing her job. She is clear and concise and is willing to help if you ask. If you ar lazy and don't study or read the notes you will fail. You have to actively study a little bit everyday to fully understand everything. If you want a good professor take Dr. Jones!
She is a super hard teacher, I will be retaking it next semester. She knows what she is talking about. But she doesn't know how to really dumb it up to a students level.
Dr. Jones is extremely hard. She writes her tests in ways that are complicated and can be confusing, even if you know the material. She was also extremely rude when I attempted to e-mail her so I was scared to ask for help. I will be taking her again next semester because D's don't get you into nursing school and she is the only teacher. >:(
This class was a challenging class. Dr. Jones was very clear about what you needed to know and was always available for extra help. Her tests were very clear, she is not a teacher that tries to trick you. If you are willing to give this class a good amount of time and focus, there is no reason you should get anything less than a B.
The class is not very hard, but she will ask DETAILED questions on the test. I barely went to class & still pull a B. Her test are straight from the notes. I would know the main points and detailed points when taking one of her test, even the final. So, know EVERYTHING in her notes. You dont need to buy her textbook, just the lecture notes
Dr. Jones is a woman who takes her job seriously. She is firm, but fair with her grading policy. Go to tutoring in Flannagon if you need extra help, barely anyone goes but the the tutor is excellent! Read the book- this will help the most! Also, go to class everyday, add notes to the powerpoints. Do your best and you should pass :)
Dr. Jones is great! She is very clear when she teaches. Attendance isn't mandatory, but GO TO CLASS! You'll get an idea of what parts of the notes she's emphasizing and what you should really focus on. If you want to get an A in her class, I suggest reading the textbook. It's not easy, but if you devote a little time to the class you should be fine
I almost didn't take this class b/c everyone makes it sound so hard..which I found to be ridiculous. There is absolutely no critical thinking, just memorize the lecture notes (you don't need to buy the book). I started studying a few days before the test and was fine. With minimal effort, there's really no reason to make a bad grade in this class.
excellent professor. Those that did not receive a good grade did not study enough. The tests are multiple choice, but if you study enough you will be able to root out the answer of a more "tricky" question. She has a british accent, but she explains things very well!I took her for the first summer session, and will be taking her for 2150! :) Take her
Her accent gets super annoying as the class continues. She tends to go on and on about stuff we dont really need to know that arent on tests, ALOT of material is crammed into ONE exam.
Her accent is pretty annoying, and the class is hard. Especially if you're taking it with Chem 1130 or any other Chemistry. It's worth an extra semester, trust me.. DON'T do it. Unlike other classes this class is impossible to cram for, so be sure to study as much as possible. The only grades you have are the 4 tests and the final. Good luck.
I think Dr. Jones is great! It is not her that makes this course hard but the material you have to learn. She is great at explaining material and she gives you really good examples to help you picture what she means. If you work efficiently it is possible to do well in this class but Anatomy and Physiology is NOT easy so don't take it lightly!
Dr. Jones is a great professor, but maybe for a graduate level. She has a difficult time putting things into lame-man's terms and often goes into too much detail for an undergrad class. An A or B is possible if you really study and dedicate time.
Great teacher that tries her best to teach hard concepts. Very helpful in office hours if you need help and is very fair. If you know and understand the material the tests are not hard but you need to know the material well.
This class is hard but it's not her fault. She does a great job explaining everything. If you study hard and know the material an A is very attainable.
Her tests are fair however you do have to study ALOT. She doesn't like you to use notecards but that will be the only reason I will have gotten an A in the class. If you don't study everything from the lecture its over for you.
Dr. Jones is very clear & fair. The class is all memorization. I memorized the notes the day before the tests and made an "A", and I am hardly a genius. Take this class!
Dr. Jones is a great professor! She is very thorough in her lectures and knows what she's talking about. She gives you great ways to remember things from the test. This class comes directly from the lecture notes, I have never touched the textbook I bought. This is a hard class and requires a lot of studying but Jones is a great professor.
Dr. Jones is a great professor, however the material is hard. She does a good job explaining it to you in ways you can understand, but in order to do well on the tests you really have to know the lecture notes by heart. Definitely not a class you can cram for, and you need to go to every class. She picks tiny details out of the notes for the tests.
This class is hard, and Lectures were hard to grasp. Her tests are always inconvenient. We had one after parents weekend, another returning from fall break, and our last exam before the final layed on the same day as one of our lab practicals. This class takes up a lot of your time but if you study you will be fine.
All I have to say is NOTE CARDS, NOTE CARDS, NOTE CARDS. Idgaf what she says about her opinion on them, they will be the reason I'll get an A in her class both semesters. If you put in the work, you can do it.
Dr Jones does the best she can to try and make the material understandable but it is HARD. You have to study at least a week in advance for tests and memorize EVERYTHING from the notes. Always have the smallest details as test questions. If she says in class that something may show up on the test..highlight, underline, circle, because it will be!!
I took this class for my major. I have enjoyed the class. The professor really relates the material to real life and helps make connections so that you understand it. She is really great at helping you make sure that you understand the material. The test are a little harder then to be expected but if you study and study you will do great in class.
I think she's is a awesome person and she really does try to help students but if you have no clue about the subject then your going be in trouble. Note cards is the only way to pass the class and you better only get your information out of the book! NOTHING ELSE! If your taking this class because you think it will be easy drop it.
Dr. Jones really enjoys her job, and it shows. Attendance is not mandatory, but you need to go to class for the material covered. She makes it entertaining, and the textbook she wrote is a must. Study all your notes-she'll test on slight details. Asks tough questions on test. You have to truly understand the material, not just memorize it by rote.
i love her! her accent is so cute. she really knows what she's talking about so it's like she lives and breathes anatomy. don't be afraid to ask questions!
Dr. Jones is a very smart and great professor, however anatomy is a very hard subject and she doesn't do a good enough job of "dumbing it down" for people that don't understand the more confusing concepts. There is ALOT of material crammed into one test, I read the textbook a lot for more details- DON'T PROCRASTINATE ON STUDYING!
dr jones is very good at anatomy and she knows what she is talking about. you get lecture notes that go along with hers and they are life savers. YOU HAVE TO STUDY IN ORDER TO PASS. study the lecture notes and understand what it's talking about and you'll do well
amazing professor. loves and knows SO much about what she is taking about. her passion makes her teaching amazing but physiology is HARD and there isn't any way around that. USE THE PIRATE TUTORING CENTER. seriously even if you don't go WATCH THE VIDEOS i promise promise they will raise your grade. study and pay attention to stuff she mentions alot
Dr. Jones knows her material and conveys it well. The course is tough. No curves, no extra credit! 4 tests and a Final! Be warned that she switches the game starting with her 2nd test. It's not just knowledge questions! IT'S APPLIED KNOWLEDGE QUESTIONS! She is always there during office hours and always ready to help!
Dr. Jones is an incredible professor! She's so smart and loves the subject. Just write down everything she says in class and study hard. The textbook is helpful if you highlight.
She's a great professor! The material is tough but she gives great analogies that actually help. The tests are pretty tough but as long as you study hard you'll do fine. They are applied learning questions so know your stuff. There are only 4 tests and a final so make them each count. She knows the material well and cares about her students!
Dr. Jones is the best professor I had for any science. She gives real life examples to help better understand the infromation. Don't skip class! You cannot learn the information by yourself so go to class because she explains it in more detail. Overral she's amazing and and she cares if you care. Also, her accent is the best.
Dr. Jones is the epitome of a well-rounded college professor. Her class is difficult, but not impossible. She uses real-life examples to supplement the material. She gives you all the study material and supplements you could ever need but really stresses that it is your job to actually study. If you're not willing to study, don't waste your time.
This professor is good for biology 2140, HOWEVER, do NOT take her for 2150. The material for 2140 was easy and the tests were easy IF YOU STUDY. But 2150 was really hard material and this professor did not make it any easier. She expects you to learn new material for each test AND includes cumulative questions that are half the test!
This class was difficult, but I really enjoyed her class. It's so easy to lose track of time before her tests, so make sure you start studying for her tests AT LEAST a week before each test. Class was hard but is not impossible, you will come out with a good understanding of anatomy even if you don't make an A.
Dr. Jones is VERY smart, she uses awesome examples/analogies to help you better understand so GO TO LECTURE. She will make it easier for you. I used notecards to study and that worked well for me. You need the lecture notebook she created to get by, but other than that work hard and you'll do well!
I took 2140 and 50 and it is essential that you go to class and listen to the lectures and take notes. As long as you know the material you will do well on the tests. Everything is from the lecture/note book.
She's a super nice lady! She makes all of her lecture notes into a course pack for you to follow along with in class and it has all the same diagrams she uses, it makes studying so much easier. She gives a lot of real life examples and just makes it really easy to understand. I really enjoy her class! only grades are tests, 4 tests and the final.
I absolutely love this lady! Her class is very tough but if you enjoy the subject it makes it bearable. You must go to class to have any chance at passing the exams. Study time must be put in daily for an exam grade to be in the 80-90 range. I have had her for 2140 and 2150 and I have learned so so much! Always recommend.
Prepare for lots of studying. There were questions on the test that I couldn't find anywhere.
Absolutely a class to take seriously. I enjoyed taking both 2140 and 2150 with her. Her lecture slides are exactly based off of the course booklet, so the book is a must buy. Everything she says is important, and she also provides great explanations. Honestly study a lot before hand and continuously review as it is impossible to cram the material.
Dr. Jones is an amazing prof & cares about students. She teaches the material well. This was a summer course. I did spend a lot of time studying for the course. Just study her notes and you will be fine. Tests are a bit easier than the material in class, but they do get harder from first to last. Had 5 exams during summer semester (one every week).
No homework, quizzes or extra credit. Just 4 tests and a final weighted equally at 20%. First is super easy, but don't slack b/c test 2 is harder. The material isn't that hard, but there's a lot on each test and anything we covered, no matter how small is fair game. I suggest making flashcards as you go and studying at least a week before the test!
She was a decent teacher. People either do bad or good in this class because her test are soooooo tricky. If you have a chance to take in summer with Tony Capehart I would highly recommend him. Jones gives no hints and is so hard you will want to quit nursing. Be prepared to study every night if you want an A.
Dr. Jones is an amazing professor. With that said, GO TO CLASS. She has a way of teaching the material that is pretty simple and easy to understand. You will get what you put in with her classes. Hard work will pay off, slack off and that will also show. Again, GO TO CLASS. She will tell you what is important and on tests. Remember: GO TO CLASS.
Professor that assumes you should know the material even before the classes starts, like on the very first day. Do not explain things very well and is very boring to listen to.
You have to go to her lectures to pass the class, however she is an amazing professor. She is SOO knowledgable, and you can tell she has a genuine passion for the subject. Good grades are achievable, you just really have to work for it, and spend a lot of time studying, no procrastinating!!
GO TO CLASS! you can afford to miss a few days as long as you can get what you missed from someone. Probably should study as often as she says. I always waited until the day before a test and ended up with a B overall. Textbook was only used for 2 small paragraphs (2 ?'s on test). Very knowledgeable on the subject.
Requires work, but it is a very important subject for all medical majors. Passing with a C or better is very possible if you put in the work. Most people get a B in this class. Going to class really helps. Reading the textbook will really help certain concepts come together. If you want an A READ THE TEXTBOOK! Study a week in advance for tests.
Love Jones. Intimidating at first however. Never studied for any class like I have hers. Didn't study once in Chemistry & made an A. First test I got a 64%. This shook me as I am a nursing major & A student. After exam 1 I memorized every word in the book & paid attention during all her lectures. Never got lower than a B after that on a test/final.
STUDY! And go to class. Some of her test questions will be from things she only said in class. Doesn't drop the lowest test grade/curve. Know every detail in the lecture book. Failed first exam which set me back but I brought my avg up to a B at the end. Study for every test because if I didn't fail the 1st exam I could have easily ended with an A.
I took 2140 and 2150 with Dr. Jones. This is a time consuming and hard class and she is a hard professor, but if you study and actually go to class you should be fine. I made a B- in 2140 and a B in 2150. It took me a little bit to get used to the way she tests, but when I did I was fine. You should take her classes, you will learn so much.
She only does 4 tests and a final. No homework, no attendance grade or anything to help with your grade. She puts old material on exams as if you do not already have enough to study and worry about. Wish I could take someone else, but unfortunately she is the only one who teaches it mostly.
I am currently in Jones 2140 class and I love it. She is a GREAT professor, she knows the material so well. The first test is very easy, the next two have been just okay (easy if you study). Study at least 4 days before each test. Make flashcards or re-write the notes. I haven't gotten less than an A on any of her tests yet.
Honestly, this class is a weeding out class. However, just memorize the lecture notes and you'll be fine.
Shes really sweet and obviously knows what shes talking about. If you go to class she goes over the same information a lot fo that it hopefully sticks. Its not gonna be easy, but if you REALLY put in the effort then you can do well in this class. Its really just a class to get people to switch majors. Really helpful if you go to her sparce hours.
i am the perfect example of skip class you won't pass lol doesn't matter how much you study, i spent days studying before the exams and never passed a single one. listen to these posts and go to class don't be dumb like me :) !!!!!!!
Dr. Jones is very intelligent and an overall great professor. There are 5 exams including the final and they are the only grades in this class and none of the exams are curved. You must study about a week in advance before each exam to do well in her class. If you study and know the material you can succeed.
She's a great teacher and you can tell that she cares and knows what she's talking about. The class is fine and the lab is too much but you'll get through it. I studied for the tests 1-2 weeks in advance and never made below a 90 on any of the tests. You get out what you put in so if you want an A you have to put in the work.
Took this class Fall 2017, as I'm a nutrition major and it was required. I do not have enough nice things to say about this professor. Yes, you have to work for the grade you get, but Dr. Jones is so knowledgable I had no trouble paying attention. Study 5-7 days before. Always keep your pencil moving during lecture.
I loved this class. Some people may argue with this, but the information you cover is not difficult to understand, what is difficult is the amount of information covered, but more so teaching yourself how to study for her exams. If you take the first exam and did badly, change the way you study for the next one, and do NOT wait till the last minute
Overall the difficulty is not with the professor just the amount of material that she is required to get through. Her lectures were very interesting and she is very knowledgeable in the subject. The tests are very detail specific and need to be studied for a week to two weeks in advance for multiple hours a day. Overall she's a great teacher!
she is very detailed and gives practice exams before exam but makes the practice exam super easy, when in reality the actual exam is hard
Her test are very hard. She seems very sickler to the syllabus. If you need help she'll only give you tips on studying but didn't really help me. wish she had more quizes in the class to help with my grade. She really is very smart so listen very well during lecture.
If you literally memorize every word of the lecture book you will easily pass the tests. There are 4 tests and a final. All are cumulative. Dr Jones is very good and explains things well if you read reviews about the tests being hard that is because of poor studying. Memorize the lecture supplement book and get a 90+ Always.
She does have a lot of material to go over but does little to help you understand all of the information. I emailed about what to do to improve and she responded by copying and pasting a part of her syllabus detailing the grade structure, as if she did not care.
This class is purely memorization, and extremely difficult. If you don't go to class you won't do well, and study every day!! Her tests are very specific, so memorize all of the lecture notes and right down every word she says. Prepare well for the final, she may say its broad topics but it's just as difficult as the other 4 exams.
This is a really hard class, but not because of Jones per say. She knows what she is talking about and explains everything really well both in lecture and if you go to office hours, but you literally have to memorize every word of the lecture notes. She does no rounding at all. Watch out for the final, it tanked our class.
Dr. Jones is the best teacher ECU could ever give you for this class. She provides you with all the information you need to succeed and understand. With that being said DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS CLASS. This was the hardest class I EVER took in my life, but it was also the most rewarding. STUDY STUDY STUDY everyday!
Dr. Jones is a phenomenal professor. That being said, she knows what she is talking about and everything she says during class as well as the lecture notes are fair game. Her tests are very, very detail specific including knowing the small pictures and fine print that goes along with them. It is very challenging but doable.
Jones is a pretty good teacher but the course just sucks in general. She does a good job going over the material as best she can and then you just have to study on you're own. Its really hard to get a good grade if you don't go to class. I never missed and still didn't do the best. The final is accumulative so its pretty hard.
Dr jones is an excellent lecture and does a good job at explaining all of the information. This class has a lot of information so if you don't stay on top of the work you will fail. This semester she skipped class and had the TA teach several times which was extremely irritating. Other than that she's great.
Anatomy is a demanding subject itself. Mrs. Jones does a great job of explaining and covering each topic. Truth be told, every single question is in her book. It requires LOTS of studying over a long period of time. If you dont do well, you need to find a better way to study and understand! Write down important things that she says in lecture!!
Dr. Jones is the best possible anatomy instructor you could ever have. Very knowledgeable in her field and GREAT at explaining the material. I suggest going to every class because she explains the information so well.
take goood notes. Listen to her when she says to memorize the pages by writing them out- I swear it works. It will take 6 years though, so make sure you start studying earlier than you think you need. study as much as damn possible, she doesnt curve anything ever but will give points back if you fight a question. FANTASTIC professor, just hard clas
Dr. Jones is probably the best professor i have ever had. GO TO CLASS. Even though her lectures are posted online, in order to actually understand what is going on, you have to be present and listen to what she is saying. Most of the time she will give 1 or 2 points back on tests which really helps. I got A's in both anatomy 1 and 2, STUDY HARD!!!!
You don't go to class you will do awful she only inputs exam grades she will literally tell you after the first exam if you got a 70 or under to just drop the class because there isn't a way to pull it up.
Dr. Jones was seriously amazing at teaching physiology, she's incredibly smart. This class is not as hard as everyone makes it seem. I began studying for each test about 5 days before and made A's on all of them. Go to class, don't be on your phone/computer, and READ HER TEXTBOOK. All the test questions are straight from the book. Loved her!
Had to be one of the best professors because she actually explains everything so well. I made an 80 on the first exam, 62 on the second and my grade went down to a 71 but I was able to make a 90 and 88 on the last exams and an 85 on the final and ended with a B in the class. She makes you work for it but its so worth it! I can't wait for anatomy 2!
Good luck taking this class the people that passed definitely put in the work .The professor is good its just the amount of work and studying you have to put for this class . You have to study at least 20-25 hours a week , if youre studying for a lab practical then its 40-45. I ended up dropping this class and took it at a community college :)
Dr. Jones is the best professor Ive ever had. The subject of anatomy itself is hard but she does her best to break every piece down into ways we can understand. You have to put in the time & effort for the grade you desire. She is understanding about mistakes she may have made on her tests and will give points back (2-4) but you have to study.
Dr. Jones is such a great instructor. Anatomy is hard, but she does her best to explain. Make sure you're studying in advance for the tests, a MINIMUM of 3 days before. The class is pretty much only test grades so pay attention during lectures.
Makes the class unnecessarily hard, if you fail the first test with less then a 75 she advises you to drop the class. You can memorize everything and flunk the test so easily still.
Dr. Jones is an absolutely brilliant person and professor. This is a hard class. You NEED to attend class and study a ton or you will not succeed. The lab is brutal and the lecture is hard too but Dr. Jones explains things very well. People make this class seem way worse than it is, it's all about dedication. put in the work and you will get an A.
Anatomy is a hard class regardless of the teacher but she does a great job at explaining it in simple terms. Showing up to class and studying every day is key.
95% of your grade is from 5 tests (no rounding or extra credit). You should go to class, but if you miss a day or two, she posts her lectures online. The material in the lecture part of the class isn't too hard and Dr. Jones is good at explaining everything. The lab section (BIOL2141) will require a lot of extra studying though.
Dr. Jones is definitely passionate and very qualified. Her lectures are great because she tends to relate topics to what makes sense to us. She adjusted well to changes due to COVID and was fair. Study HARD. Like every day, even for just 15 mins. I'd recommend going to the PASC as well.
Hardest class I've ever taken. If you're taking her with another hard class like ORGO, you won't pass. This class needs every bit of your attention, and if you don't study LITERALLY every day, you're screwed. She speaks very fast, and you need to write down everything she says that isn't on her lecture notes because she tests on a wide variety.
Anatomy is hard, but Dr Jones is a great teacher. Study EVERYDAY. Her tests are hard, but watch the lectures over again and rewrite your notes just the way she says, trust her. We moved online but she was still helpful. Lab practicals are straight memorization. Practice, do the PASC study guides!!! This HAS to be your major class for the semester.
This class is how you want it to be. You slack off- itll show, you study- itll show. She is extremely helpful and knows what shes doing. Study study study, everyday just a little. This class is supposed to be hard! Make study groups!
MAKE TUTORING APPTS! ASK TUTORS ?'S. Take photos of your test questions even if you don't know if they are correct or not- if you have extr time. She does not reopen tests on mastering AP. Jones had prior exam questions on the final. I recommend you look back on your past exams. I was lucky enough to print my questions out. Use the Socratic app!
The lecture class wasn't hard however the lab for this class was. I received an A for Professor Jones' lecture class however I had to retake the lab twice. The lab consisted of a total of 3 test and if you bomb one don't expect to get an A or a B at the end of this course. If possible transfer this course in that's what I did and got an A+ credit!!
Search this up on Quizlet: BIOL 2140 Dr. Jones Mastering A&P Questions These are past exam questions that I saw on my exam that I took on Mastering A&P.
Use the Socratic app. Lots of lectures and make sure you write notes in your book! Teamwork helps a lot. And Dr. Jones is good at answering emails if you have any AP questions.
The tests werent even close to the lectures. We would spend an hour talking about one particular point and she would keep saying "you need to know this for the test". Low and behold all 50 questions were anything but what we went over. I would be confident too. And then pull a class average 67. No go for me and should be for you too.
The exams are nothing like quizzes or work you do in class. The average for our most recent exam was a 54, which reflects more on Dr. Jones than it does on the students. She seems like a nice person, but the exams are 95% of your grade and nearly impossible to do well in
Terrible terrible terrible. Told us we needed to lock ourselves in our rooms for four days straight or we wont pass an exam. This class took over my life. So many people changed their major because of her.
The worst teacher I have ever taken, doesn't get back to emails and honestly doesn't care that more than half the class is failing.
Home girl made test 3 the day after Halloween. Most of class is failing btw.
She is the teacher you want to help you prepare for the future. She is fair and this class you really have to pick and choose your priorities. Tests aren't extremely hard unless you don't study. Your grade reflects how you study. Honestly, if your planning on going into the medical field and think this class is hard, may want to rethink your career
Worst professor at ECU. Makes class nearly impossible to pass and over half of the class withdrew and changed majors because of her. Does not care about you at all and is just trying to weed out for nursing school. Take at community college and save your withdrawal credits. Not taking Anatomy 2 here either because of her.
If you want to see a professor who is only there for selling her own books but does care for his/her students, he is probably fitted to be the one. Get away from her class and stay happy. Take someone instead!
Dr. Jones is by far the worst teacher I've ever had. She told my class that we were too stupid to be nurses if were not vaccinated. If you email her with a question, it is an automated response. TAKE AT A COMMUNITY COLLEGE! I studied for hours every single day and the highest I got on an exam was a 50. There is also no other grades besides exams.
Worst class I have ever taken. She would always say "Study this, it will be on the test" and then it NEVER was. I would literally study for a straight week nonstop and be so confident to take the tests and then still fail. Honestly... just take it at a community college.
Honestly the hardest class I have ever taken. I have done really well in all my other college classes (A in chemistry and math) and I am sitting at a 71 right now. This class has ruined my mental health and destroyed my confidence in myself. You could study for weeks and still fail. I am at the library almost every night until 3 am. Def take at CC.
I came into college thinking I would love anatomy but my experience has been ruined with this class. The highest grade I have made has been a 78 and I have never even made a C in my life. The exams are so unrealistically hard that I have studied for 3 weeks ahead and made 60s. Please save your mental health and take anatomy ANYWHERE else.
This professor ruined my mental health, I really thought I would love this class but ended up hating it. She made everything extremely hard for what reason?! My friends emailed her and she gave an email back stating I see you lacked deep fundamental knowledge! Shes the worst professional at ECU, do not take!
This class is hard. Dr. Jones is smart and shes a good professor, however, that being said, I feel like she tries to make the exams in this class difficult by using wording that makes no sense. This class will take over your semester, and if youre not putting hours in of studying a day you will not do well. Save yourself and take at a CC.
this is easily the hardest class I have taken at ECU. there is no extra credit, no rounding. there are quizzes on mastering chemistry but they only make up 5% of your grade. the test is very difficult and she gives exams on very specific stuff. the averages on the exams (there were 5 including final) were 60's. she had 700 students, ended with 300.
Had to withdraw from this class and BIO 2140 because it stressed me out so bad. The only grades Dr. Jones has are exams and quizzes, but exams are 95%. Seems like she is just trying to have students fail so there aren't as many nursing majors at ECU, the CON probably thanks her for it. I'm taking this class at a cc right now, SO MUCH EASIER.
As a grad student that has already gone through a thesis and is now retaking a few classes to better my PA school application, I have never experienced a class like this. Say goodbye to your mental health. Maybe if you are a student who doesnt work have to work full time youll do okay. I however have never had the opportunity of being that lucky
As an honors straight A student who has always loved anatomy I entered this class expecting great things, however, very quickly Jones made my mental health plummet and over 50% of her class drop out or fail. She gives no other assignments than the exam and the "practice" questions she gives have nothing to do with the exam and there are 7 of them.
Liz Jones is not only the worst professor I've ever had but also one of the worst people I've ever met. She only cares about herself and the money she receives from her 300$ textbooks that she writes herself. If you want to spend your life in the library and cry yourself to sleep when she puts your exam grades in, then be my guest and take a seat.
She wrote the textbook because she prepared the curriculum herself, I am grateful for the textbook, it is everything you see in class. Physiology is not easy. The body is complex, but she is a great teacher and gives great examples. If you fail, you weren't meant for medicine, and you didn't study enough. Too many people are too lazy.
Dr. Jones is passionate about what she teaches. She knows her stuff and enjoys seeing her students succeed. That being said this class is hard. You have to do good on tests or you won't pass. (95% of your grade) Practice exams aren't helpful. She doesn't take attendance but you'll find it difficult to pass if you don't go to class. Utilize the PASC
Do not take Dr. Jones. I have always been a straight a student and studied hard in all of my classes. Going into this class I was so excited to learn more about anatomy because it is a fun subject for me. I studied my ass off to receive a low-grade and should have taken it at a community college. Do not take this class at ECU!!! She is the worst.
Dr. Jones is very knowledgeable in what she does. The lectures are interesting, and yes, the exams are very challenging. I was able to be at school full time, work 2 part time jobs, and still get a decent grade in the class so it isn't impossible. Her exams are fair and questions on the exams come straight from the lecture notes.
Dr. Jones expects her students to make this class their whole lives. You need to study for multiple hours every day in order to only pass the class. She also requires two textbooks, both written by her, which cost hundreds of dollars each
If you cant memorize 147 pages like the back of your hand then do not take this class. She expects you to only focus on this class ONLY and forgot about your other ones, which is delusional. She is not helpful at all and will tell you to just rewrite your notes. Take it anywhere else and save your mental health and time
This class is hard but, she explains things super well and makes analogies to try to aid your understanding. You really have to take your time and try to understand or else the exams seem impossible. She posts all her lectures on canvas so you dont have to go to class except for exam days. She says somethings that discourage you, just ignore them
Dr. Jones is a great professor. This class is full of information but she will go over it in depth. Go to class and pay attention and reread the textbook (100 something pages) and you will pass. Very interesting course regardless
Being straightforward, this is one of the hardest science classes at ECU. That being said, it's not impossible, but will require loads of studying a week and missing out on things you'd normally like to do. Study every chance you get. Rewrite the notes, make flash cards, and try to understand the material rather than memorize and you will get an A.
95% of your grade consists of exams.
The hardest class at ECU. Dr. Jones is proud that most of her students fail her exams
Professor Jones is amazing she truly does care about all of her students and her lectures are amazing. With that being said the class is very hard, so it will take time and work.
Mrs. Jones is an AMAZING professor! All the comments describing how she is "awful" are because they didn't put in the work to study. This class is hard and at times overwhelming (can't forget about lab). All I can say is there will be A LOT of studying going into this class, if you don't use your time wisely, you're in trouble..
Professor Jones really cares about her students. Her exams are heavy considering that they are 19% of your grade. I took Anatomy 1 and Anatomy 2 with her and I do not regret taking it here, despite people saying to take it at a community college because it is easier. Go to exam viewing and ask questions outside of class. She is willing to help!
liz is a good teacher and she definitely knows what she's talking about, the class itself is just very hard. it's just so much material you have to learn and know backward and forwards. there are 5 tests worth 19% each so basically those tests are your grade plus 5% online quizzes. she does not round/ curve or drop any tests. get ready to study.
take it at a CC
I would've taken this at a cc if I knew how this class was going to be. A&P's hard to begin with, and having 95% of your grade 5 tests doesn't help. Some people thrive, some don't. Takes an extreme amount of studying with any prof, but especially Jones. Every single test question is straight from her lecture notes. Don't get behind, study everyday.
Liz Jones is brilliant, the class was extremely hard but she is an amazing professor and prepares you for any graduate program. She is very detailed and studying matters, the lab is very interesting!!
This professor is very easy to listen to, her lectures are very concise and to the point. She gives multiple examples to help understanding. You absolutely must study and take as many notes as possible. There are 5 exams worth 95% of your grade, a couple quizzes and no home work. Pay attention and study and you will do well.
This class is very challenging b/c of the amount of material, but Liz does a great job teaching. She does her best to make the content engaging + her tests come straight from her book. There is a ton of info to learn and its hard, but she is very straightforward when it comes to expectations. If you apply yourself and study a lot you will do well
She knows her material and is an excellent teacher. Yes, the class is hard but if you study how she tells you to you will excel.
Very specific and confusing with questions on exams. Only thing to study is the book and what she says in class.
I always drove to her class without a seatbelt hoping I would fly out the windshield so I won't have to be so stressed.
Jones is very nice and knows what she's teaching, but the class is extremely hard. She only has 5 exams which make up your grade and they're all cumulative. You will hate yourself while you are in this class.
She seems to care about students, but there also seems to be pressure on her to maintain the level of expertise for students going into higher-level classes. 5 Exams for 95%. The average of the class average for exams is 70 with a SD of 4 this semester. If you need a C-flat or higher, good luck being one of the 23%. Do with this info as you please.
Dr. Jones isn't as bad as everyone makes her out to be. They forget this is an ANATOMY class and not suppose to be easy? This class takes time and is complex, but it's exactly what you'd expect from an anatomy class. You have to study like crazy, but honestly you probably will have to for your major if you even have to take this class.
I came into this class with a 2.6 GPA and will be leaving it with a nearly 2.9! Before you take this course you will likely hear how hard it is, and hard is an understatement. What is also true of this course is that if you dedicate time to understanding it you will do great. It has taught me how to study and has shown me how to enjoy it.
Dr. Jones is probably one of my favorite professors I've had at ECU. Yes, the class is very difficult and be prepared to study A LOT but once you grasp the concepts you will be set for her exams! She goes in depth each lecture to make sure you understand the concepts. Take the time to study and your grade will reflect!
Dr. Jones is an amazing professor she holds significant knowledge pertaining to the Anatomy of the human body. Anatomy is a hard class but Dr. Jones does everything she can to help students grasp concepts they may not fully understand. If you take the time to study ahead and do her practice tests you will succeed. She's the BEST professor at ECU.
You will regret taking this professor as she does not drop grades, has no exam corrections, and the exams are very difficult. There is no room for error in this class, and the class is exam heavy. She has said in class that she does not care if you fail, and makes the students buy her own textbook. She does not care about the students!!!
5 exams worth 19.0% Quizzes worth 0.5% I took BIOL 2140 Fall of 2022. My advise, don't listen to her study habits. Do what works best for you. When I listened to Dr. Jones study habits I got a 44 on an exam. But when I studied what was best for me I got an 80. I rewatched lecture video's and took notes in detail asking myself questions
Dr. Jones is an amazing professor, she explains all the material very well to prepare for the exams. To succeed in this class you have to study and personally rewatching the lecture videos and taking notes helped me the most.
A very tough grader. She does not prepare her students for the exams as this is a weeded class for nursing school. More than 3/4 of the class will fail at least once. If you take her class it will take ALL your time.
Mrs. Jones is a good professor. She knows a lot of about anatomy and her lectures are very straight to the point. 5 tests are worth 95% of your grade. It is 100% doable but you have to really study hard. Quizlets help a lot and Youtube crash course videos. Good luck to all the future nurses, physical therapist, and premed majors taking her class!
Though Jones is very passionate about what she teaches, this class is extremely content-heavy. This class will be difficult to be successful in if taking other hard classes, you will need to visit tutoring and spend around 9hr+ a week studying lab/lecture content. Be prepared to dedicate all your time to it, it is not uncommon to retake this class.
They say this class is for weeding out future nursing students, and it did that for me. She likes what she teaches but does not explain it in the easiest way. A lot of information so all your time will be taken up by this class. Basically, all the grades are the exams and no extra credit is given all semester.
Do not take this class unless you have absolutely no other choice, and if you have no choice take it only with easy classes. You will be spending almost every waking moment studying and crying and you will have zero free time. 95 percent of your grade is exams and they are rough.
It was obvious that Dr. Jones knew what she was talking about but she jumps to topics so quickly as if everyone in the class is on the same level of understanding that she is on. She offers no extra credit or even homework to help boost your grade. This class leaves no time for other classes, jobs, or extra activities.
good luck with this one. I suggest if you absolutely need this course for a credit, take this class through Wilson CC or some community college. ms. jones makes her own textbooks (which is helpful at times), but does not know how to dumb it down in laymens terms... especially for freshman/ sophomores. you miss a class or two? good luck catching up!
Prof Liz is very passionate about anatomy but she does not care about her students. Her exams are very difficult and she does not curve or do anything to boost your grade. There are five exams each worth 19% of your grade so if you bomb one than you have to do well on all the others. I would not recommend this class unless you HAVE to take it.
Dr. Jones is a great professor. This is the one class in college that actually requires you to put forth an effort. Her exams are definitely tough, but if you study the way she tells you to, you will be just fine. A lot of these negative reviews left by other students are most likely from them struggling due to lack of effort/time management.
Dr. Jones is very knowledgeable about anatomy. She goes fast in lectures but will give extra help if you go to her office hours. Her class is 95% exams and she does not offer leeway with grades. To be successful in this course, take her advice on how to take exams and be ready to STUDY. If you are a nursing major, this class will help prepare you.
A lot of these reviews are bad, but anatomy is a tough class to begin with. She knows anatomy and teaches it very well. Listen to how she tells you to study IT HELPS. Go to tutoring, this does not mean your stupid. Hearing it from someone else helps. If you put in the work you will do well and if you don't you will fail.
She is a great teacher and says everything you need to know for the tests in class. Pay attention in class, enjoy the material, study early and often, take learning the information seriously, and you will succeed! Don't expect professors to give you extra credit/curves. Just do the work - an actual career in healthcare requires this skillset.
Professor Jones is extremely knowledgable about anatomy and passionate about what she teaches. This class is extremely material heavy, your grade is determined on 5 exams in the class. If you go to class, take notes, and most importantly listen to what she tells you; you can pass this class with a B. There is strictly no extra credit, no curves.
Dr.Jones is very passionate but has no idea how to actually teach. She tells you what is what and offers little to no help. Tests are 95% of the grade and with no extra credit, chance for retake, or curve given. She had a 60% fail rate two years ago, a 50% fail rate last year and close to that this year. Good luck if you take her!
Your grade is made up of 5 tests each worth 19% and 10 quizzes are worth 5%. Tests 1-4 are 50 mc and final is 100. I honestly loved Dr. Jones. The "textbook" is lecture notes she writes herself. They're easy to follow. Tests are straight from "textbook" and lecture. Just take good notes and study. I didn't have to sacrifice my life for this class
If you can avoid this class, do so. If you bomb a test, good luck trying to recover. 95% of the grade comes from tests and the rest are from quizzes. Dr. Jones isn't very helpful in her office hours and doesn't seem to be able to relate to her students.
She's honestly not bad. Anatomy is just tough but I think she does a good job at teaching it. The only downside is that your grade is 95% exams and she doesn't curve.
Can't make anatomy/phys. any easier than this. No need to buy textbook, she condenses it into a note packet you buy instead. Exams are literally straight from the notebook and the things of note she mentions in class. Explains how things work very well, offers practice questions and other resources on canvas.
Anatomy is a difficult subject especially when you take it specifically for grad school. If you are required to take anatomy for a grad program, take it with Dr. Jones. She is incredibly knowledgeable on the subjects and willing to help during office hours. Her course is well known on ECU's campus for preparing students for upper level anatomy's.
i absolutely love her way of teaching. there is a lot of material but the way she teaches makes it easy to learn and remember.
Amazing professor, as long as you study you will be fine. 95% of grade is from tests
I love Dr. Jones! You will fail if you miss class a bunch. You need to earn how to study in a way that works for you. It's very topic heavy but she always does a great job of explaining it and is always available after class. She is a super sweet person and honestly has a hint of an accent which is enjoyable to listen to lol
95 of your grade is tests, the other 5 is online quizzes. There are 5 tests throughout each semester. The first 4 tests are 50 Qs, normally 45 Q on new stuff, and 5 on old. The 5th is 50 Q's on past stuff, and 50 on new. The quizzes are straight out of the lecture notes. She does not offer any extra credit and she will not round your grade.
Professor Jones is knowledgeable, but the class is extremely challenging. 95% of the grade comes from tough exams. Attend every class, study diligently, and utilize resources like unstuckstudy ai to succeed. Not the easiest A, but doable with hard work.
Dr. Jones is a good professor a lot of people say the class is hard but that's because anatomy in general is hard. She goes in depth and explains things. She gives you the technique needed to study and pass the tests for the class and as long as you follow what she says, pay attention and take nots in class, you will pass with flying colors.
Dr. Jones is insanely knowledgeable and uses a self-made lecture notes book, but this class is extremely difficult. I study 24/7 and go to almost all lectures, but could not get my grade above a C. Exams are 95% of your grade, while timed quizzes are the remaining 5%. There is no curving, rounding, or extra credit opportunities. I do not recommend.
Honestly, I strongly disliked Dr. Jones for BIOL 2140, but in 2150 I actually listened to what she told us to do and how to study and I even started to enjoy anatomy. I'm now a nursing student and you will need to know what she teaches you. Just listen and take notes exactly how she says! STUDY HOW SHE TELLS YOU TO AND DON'T PROCRASTINATE!
Jones is very knowledgeable. Just be prepared; this is a very HARD class. A LOT of studying is required. Her simplified textbook has everything you need to know in it. Your grade only consists of 5 exams, 1 of them being the final, which is why studying and knowing the material is so important. No HW, extra credit, curves, or rounding... good luck!
Dr. Jones is very knowledgeable, however she is an extremely poor teacher. Her exams are tough, and many concepts are reworded on the exam to sound strange in order to make you think about what you studied. There have also been many times where there are questions about concepts not went over in class and not even in the lecture book. Take online.
Dr. Jones is a fantastic professor, she truly cares about her students and their success. The point distribution is tough but that is to prepare students for their career. She is teaching material that is important to know, A LOT of it in a short time. The effort put into teaching and encouraging students is unmatched. Study and go to office hours!
very hard material but if you listen to her lectures, you will learn a lot of material in a small amount of time. the only grades are exams and a small percentage of quizzes.
really wish she was not the only anatomy professor for this course. You could study the textbook and still fail the exam due to her making the questions extremely difficult. The wording of the exams is insane and there are only exams and quizzes. exams worth a whole chunk of your grade while the quizzes are not worth that much. Good luck
Mrs. Jones was a very great professor overall. Anatomy is a very hard class, but she made it to the point where you could understand. Her textbooks is very straight forward and she provides a lot of examples in class to help you better understand. Her grades are majority tests but she gives you plenty of time to prepare for them!
Terrible. I had her ten years ago. No additional resources. I was told to "read the book" when I asked for help. Do not recommend.
2nd worst professor I've ever had. Lecture videos are useless she just rambles on about stuff and doesn't follow along with the lecture notes which makes her so hard to follow, feels like you hardly learned anything. She's also pretty rude but at least responds fast. Final is 50% of course grade and the other 50% is all tests that are pretty hard.
Professor Jones' Anatomy+Physiology course is difficult. On the contrary, she is a good professor for how difficult the course is. You need to routinely study from the book for the class, but she is a good professor who cares and wants to help.
This class is definitely hard and you have to study a lot but jones is a great professor and explains things very clearly and in simple terms. Attendance is not mandatory and she posts all her lectures on canvas which is super helpful, exams are most of your grade however she does give practice questions which are super helpful, def recommend her
Professor Jones is a very knowledgeable person, and although the class is extremely difficult, she teaches the content well. If you are taking this class, you have to prepare to be studying AT LEAST 2 hours per day. I just wish exams(worth 18%) and quizzes(worth 0.5%) weren't the only grades!!
Anatomy is a hard class, but Dr. Jones made it pretty easy. She explains everything slowly and multiple times. The course is very test-heavy, but the questions are straightforward. Definitely study!!
