Dr. Joseph is a fair teacher who loves her job. She has a good sense of humor, and is very helpful. She can be lenient if you go to her. I plan on taking her again in the future. There is a lot of work, but if you do it and are a serious student, you should have no problem!!

Great teacher! I certainly learned a lot from her class, but it's not gonna be easy!! You got to earn it through hardwork. She gives quizzes and journal writing over each story we read. Her grades does not base upon just exams like some teachers, but there are others grades such as research paper and analyzes. She certainly is very knowledgable!!!!

this class was pretty hard to keep up with, she expects allot from her students. if you are taking a full load you should not take this class. the great thing about this class is that you learn alot!

She's really nice, but make sure you go to class and DO ALL THE WORK! lots of work, but it pays off because your grade isn't just from essays and tests..there are quizzes and assignments! Make her laugh and she'll love you!!

This was such a wonderful professor. She is well educated and TCC is lucky to have her. I still respect her teachings and am glad that I had her. I have now moved to a University and her teachings have prepared me for the senior level english classes.

Honestly, she's an okay teacher. Her classes are boring, but overall I got an A in her class. Just know how to write essays, do your homework(read) and you'll be fine.

Wonderful professor. Absolutely willing to help any student. There is a good amount of work but as long as you stay on top of things you'll do great. I finished her class with a 98 and she even nominated me for an award which shows how involved she is with her students and appreciates students who come to class to learn. She's a very smart lady!!!

She loves students who talks and discusses a lot about the literature. She takes pride in NOT taking any late work. DO NOT skip out in the middle of the class, SOMETIMES at the END of class she will ask you write down a summary or analysis. She DOES NOT let you make up class work, unless you have a "doctor's note" or "someone in your family died".

She is a really nice & understanding lady who probably gives students too many chances. Anyway, it isn't her fault you have to read and write papers... it's english, come on. Just show up and do your work, you'll get an A.

She is a good professor!Yes she does give a lot of work but it is managable, I am taking a full load of hard classes and I got an A. Yes you have to read the syllabus to see when to turn in assignments,but this is college and we should not have to be reminded to do our hw.She will sometimes get boring,but speak out in class and make it interesting!

I liked her. She is a STRICT teacher FOR THE MOST PART and does assign a good amount of work. She does INFORM and PREPARE you well IF YOU pay ATTENTION. And if you have problems she will help you, but you have to be willing and have her respect. So I would recommend her, but not for the weak-hearted. She will make you EARN your grade.

Very good teacher. She goes the extra mile for her students above and beyond what most teachers would. The ones who complain about her don't want to work. There is no reason why you can't make a good grade in this class if you show up, pay attention, and participate.

She's an OK teacher if you actually show up to class.. Don't expect to pass if you always skip. She will sometimes give second chances if you are trying.. She let me turn in an essay a week late because I was really sick. Not a bad teacher, but I don't know if I would highly recommend

She really helped me a lot and worked with me like a daughter. As long as you show interest of passing this class... she will go extra mile to help you out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Don't know if English is just easy for me but it was as easy as my P.E. class! If you are good at writing and can find a plot in a story you'll be fine. Great personality and really enjoys her subject matter. Listen to her and make her smile and you'll do fine. Got my easy A and learned a few things, too. More than I can say for other classes.

Dr. Joseph is a humane and educated person, knows her subject of English Lit and expects you to show curiosity about the authors and do all required homework, readings and papers. If you complete all work you should get an A. If you are late every day, absent, disrupt class, don't care about the subject, you will fail. Cheerfully helps if needed

Very nice teacher, but you have to be in class to pass. She will allow you to make up work if she sees that your trying, and she gives a lot of extra credit.

Great teacher. She makes sure you understand and know all the facts that she will ask on her quizzes,essays or final test. English is not my first language and I got and A. If you are a mature student and use to follow directions in a class, you will love Dr. Joseph, she is like a mom in class.

Mrs. Joseph class is a wonderful and very educational experiance. Even though I have not finished the class; I have learned so much from it on how to identify various types of fiction, poems and soon plays. If your looking for a class that stimulates your mind and helps you understand your writing better. Take her class it will be a great benefit.

Her class is hard, but it will make you learn something. She takes her job very seriously, and expects you to take your work seriously. A TON of writing and homework. DO ALL THE ASSIGNMENTS! Not much extra credit given, but she will work with you. Pay attention to what she says in class and WRITE it down. It will be on your test/quiz!!!

Dr. Joseph is such a sweet lady. She cares about her students and seemed to help us in any way she could. Her class is very easy - if you do your work. Yes she takes off points for grammar and misspelling, but this is a COLLEGE LEVEL ENGLISH CLASS people. There are two "big" papers but easy if you just do what she asks. Made "A"s on both. :)

I had Professor Joseph for World Literature II and LOVED her! She is willing to help her students in passing her class! I recommend her for any English course! I wish I would have known about her earlier :) She is very clear in lectures and her tests are not as hard as people say they are :) Highly suggest you to take her :)

Yes! Even better than some profs I've had at UTA. Loves cultures. Dr. Joseph's class was well rounded in subject matter and she uses great texts. Pace was easy to follow. Must attend. Group work, open ended questions, ex credit, research, in class essays, explains stories in depth. Final was the hardest test but still not bad if you study a bit.

This class was quite a bit of work, but wasn't difficult. If you stick to the sylabus that she outlines at the beginning on the semester and ATTEND class, you should do fine. There is one major writing assignment that you must do that is 20% of your grade, but I got a 93 on it when I didn't really try. She isn't a difficult grader and was awesome!

You should get ready with a lot of works. Dr. Joseph has a high expectation for her class.

Dr. Joseph is amazing!!! Her American Literature class is easy peezy if you just show up and do the little bit of work. I have taken several literature courses and found myself having to redo them because the other instructors were hard and the work made no sense. I wish Dr. Joseph taught all the literature courses.

Very hard grader even on pop quiz grades you if you don't put periods, misspelling of names ect nice and very detailed

Attendance isn't graded, but she goes over everything in class so I suggest to show up & pay attention. You read a lot in the first half of the semester but its not very time consuming. She is very strict about assignments on the syllabus & is a clear grader. She gives extra credit opportunities. I missed 3 classes but thought it was an easy A

Textbook use daily. Grades heavy on grammar -test, quizzes, and papers. Had to visit the writing center lab for most of her paper assignments. Did extra credit to keep my grade. Positive qualities-provides help, available, and easy to reach. Reviews info needed for pop quizzes, useful criticism. Be on time and do your best, she will love that.

Class was upper east! All you have to do is read short stories and write simple things. I dont understand why people are complaining; its and English class, youre suppose to read and write. I detest english, yet, I passed with a high A. This is community college, it is not difficult at all compared to a university english course.

Let me start off by saying English class was my worst subject in school, I prefer Math or Science. She sets her expectations clearly so be ready to do the work she asks of you. Many people complain that she is not helpful but don't listen, she will give you feedback if you ask. As long as you are willing to do the work you'll be ok. 10/10

Dr. Joseph is a caring professor, I disagree with the fact that people say shes a tough grader, in fact its an easy class if you try, the only hard thing was the Research Essay in my opinion. Secondly, its not a lot of reading, at the beginning you do read a few SHORT STORIES nothing too long. If youre willing to put in effort you will pass.

I remember reading that there was only one difficult assignment; the report essay. Thats true. She is really amazing when she lectures, it makes learning English easy. However, it is not realistic to get a 100 in her class. The highest I had ever gotten was 98.

She is a good professor. You could feel that she is caring for you during the semester. She is not a tough grader, but this is not an easy A class. She would give you feedbacks for an essay if you visit her office hour. I hate all English professors except her, and I would like to take her class again.

Dr. Joseph is such an amazing professor. Very clear expectations and syllabus. Responds to emails quick and posts grades asap. I would 100% take her again!!

Overall a good professor, grades very fast, and responds to emails quickly. Took the summer course and it was alot of busy work that really could have been cut back. She was very considerate if you needed adjustments. Be ready to read alot but the homework isn't too difficult. Doesn't grade crazy hard but you need to know what you're talking about.

Professor Joseph was my favorite English Professor by far! Her essays were very easy to comprehend and she gives great topics to choose from. Anytime she graded my work she gave great feedback that I was able to use in upcoming assignments.

Super easy class. We get three essays that are a walk in the park. Prof Joseph is super chill; she was easy to get a hold of and responded promptly. My class was online, so no lectures! Readings are a bit weird, and the questions are hard to answer (no Quizlet for those!). Overall lovely professor would retake her.

She teaches from the book (mostly grammar and punctuation) and does quizzes over it. The essay part is easy if you follow the guidelines needed for the essay.

Prof Joseph is a great professor if you pay attention. It definitely helps to enjoy reading, as the class is obviously focused on analyzing short stories, poetry and drama. She does get a bit tangental in her lectures, but I felt like I still learned a lot. There will be a lot of writing - it's a comp class. All in all, pretty solid.

Her class is boring, but bearable. Her accent isn't that thick at all & shes understandable. She's nitpicky abt grammar (ex: contractions) but it actually helped in the future. There's only 3 or 4 essays and they're all fairly easy. She's super understanding when u have a personal issue too. I recommend her class. The homework is really easy too.
