Class starts out really confusing, but she explains everything really well. She was always there to help, and if you made an effort, she would notice. She helped a lot on the portfolios when I really needed the help and she is really easy and nice to talk to .
She is very sweet lady! Very helpful and smart!
She is so nice and helpful- she really listens to her students and does her best to make sure everyone understands and feels comfortable. A great breakout teacher
Read directly off the powerpoints which was boring, but exams were very straightforward and fairly easy. She was incredibly nice and would clarify all questions. Another plus--she would dismiss class between 45 and 20 minutes early most classes. Strongly recommend her.
She reads straight from PowerPoints and will put you to sleep in lectures, but otherwise she is very helpful and will fix your homework and projects for you if you see her before they're due. Shes going to teach ACC 221 starting Spring '11, hopefully she gets more interesting before then, because she is going to put an entire auditorium to sleep.
I had Dan Wiegand for ACC this semester, but since he's retiring, she taught us quite a bit since she is transitioning into the ACC221 position full time. She explains things clearly and is helpful. Nice person. Might not be the most interesting to listen to, but it's accounting... let me know when you find someone who can make that entertaining...
Great professor, knows her material well and was trained by the best. The textbook used is great and her supplemental teaching in class makes everything understandable.
At first, it seems easy. Let me tell ya, wrong impression. Lots and lots of long boring readings (and hours of homework per week for very little credit). Not a very good professor at all. Thinks everyone is an accountant already. Study for every exam like it's a final exam (they're all make or break grades). Switched out of business because of it.
She is terrible! She expects everyone to know about accounting already. The exams suck! She will not help, even if you go to her individually and ask.
this class is the reason i wanted to becoming an accounting major! everything made complete sense as long as you put a little time into learning it. she is also extrememly organized and her tests were easy!! i got 100% on 2 of them!
Great teacher - Great class - very organized - Do the work, get the A
I loved this class. Everything is very well organized and you always know what will be on the exams. If you put in a tiny bit of effort then you'll do great. Just read the textbook and go to the review sessions before the exam and you can get a 100% on the exams.
Killy is great! Her lectures use crystal clear examples and the work is easy to follow. Friday sessions with more focused attention clear up any questions you may have. Only complaint is the homework load, however, she provides you all the answers should you chose to copy them without working it out. If you need accounting take Killy's class.
Her exams are straightforward. Study homework. She is extremely clear on everything. If you got A on every exam, you barely have to study for Final. I got A- Writing out problems will be the best way to study. If you just look through problem, you might do really bad on every exam. Check over exam when you are done you will find mistakes.
Killy is awesome! I loved her class because she gave you everything you needed to know for tests and quizzes. The test and quizzes aren't hard if you study the homework and exam review guides. She was very clear with all the information and actually made accounting entertaining.
Crystal clear about everything. Excellent accounting professor.
Well I thought this class was easy. I had a solid B+ going into the final but ended up with a B- bc the final was impossible. My advice is to get as close to 100% as possible before the final because it will destroy your grade.
She is not that great at teaching in class so a lot of the learning is done outside of class. You have to do your homework to get a decent grade because the exams are tough.
Everything is easy except for the final. She tells you what are on the tests, it's easy to get help on projects, and as long as you do the homework, and keep up to date, you'll be fine.
So Boring. Going to class is pointless because it's all on the software.
Class was simple, but actually going to class for lectures was pointless as all lectures were on 2-3 spreadsheets she put online. Easy, but the only ACC221 teacher anyway. Will need textbooks.
Ms. Killy is the best. Tests are moderately hard. Keeping up-to-date is super important. The class is very well organized and the material is clearly presented in class and in the textbooks. Go to class -- do the homework -- you should get a good grade.
Killy does the best that she can with this subject. I doubt you have any other options but her, but be careful of using cellphones in class... she isn't kidding about taking off 3 points each time.
Beth is an amazing professor. I highly recommend her for ACC 221 or any class. Very personable and kind. If you have any questions she will answer all of them. Even though attendance is mandatory it truly helps to be there. Her clarity was great and it helped to print the handouts she puts on Niihka to take notes on. Wish I could have her for 222.
Great professor. Tells you exactly what is on every exam question by question (not the exact problem but what material that particular problem will cover). There is weekly homework but it does help with learning and applying the material. Keep up to date on the hw, reading, etc. Go to class and you'll be fine. Gives a TON of extra credit.
If I had one hour to live, I'd spend it in this class because it feels like an eternity
Class is extremely boring. You have to come and no electronics are allowed whatsoever. But she is nice and will answer any questions you have.
Had to pay attention in class to do well. But still an okay class overall.
Killy is a good accounting professor and all, but the course workload for an intro level ACC course is very high. It took me a while to do the homework just by copying it(yes, you can copy homework but if you do you gotta learn it). Also, for Killy, ask any question you want because theres no such thing as a "bad" question. Attendance mandatory
In this class, knowing and understanding the material is a MUST if you want a good grade. Exams are worth at least 170pts each. (homework is only 4 pts each) Killy is a good teacher,so if you listen and do the homework CORRECTLY you will be fine. Do bad on tests and you will fail for sure. Missing one mult. choice question will cost you 9pts.
The class itself is not too tough, just make sure you are prepared for the exams - I did poorly on one exam and ended with a B instead of an A. Her study guides are helpful - make sure and use these to your advantage. Lectures are manditory but material is straight from the book
She is not only a great teacher, but a generally good person. ACC 221 (intro accounting) is not a difficult concept to grasp for most people, but she still makes everything so clear and simple. She gives you so many resources to use and her lectures are always good. Lucky for me, this class was only taught by her so I didn't even have a choice.
She is terrible
I would recommend this class.
Beth is very clear and helpful. Friday classes are with a TA and usually involve a weekly quiz. A few projects help boost the grade. Very helpful before exams, just put in the effort for a good grade.
Great class and even better professor! Turned me into an accounting major.
I really like Beth Killy! She's nice and explains concepts well. Study guides are provided for tests. You do need to do the homework but overall the class isn't that hard. She makes what could have been a boring class much more interesting. She's great at answering questions, even in a huge lecture hall. You can't have a phone or laptop out.
Professor Killy is a great teacher, and will definitely help you if you ask. She is very sweet and provides exam study guides and review sessions.
Awesome at accounting and awesome at teaching. Wish I hadn't taken this course at 8:30 because it is very easy to skip. Go to class and do the homeworkprojects throughout the semester and you're guaranteed an A. Skip a lot and you can probably still end up with a B.
She's a good professor, though I'm not too big of a fan in the way they adjusted the course itself (in that you now have 2 long class days instead of three) 1st book material isn't hard, but make sure you read and take notes ahead of time for the other 2 textbooks. From taking it, the 1st and 3rd tests are easy but the 2nd test and final are tough.
Definitely challenging, but it helps a lot if you do all the homework. Killy is really sweet and will help you with any problems you are having understanding the material. Quizzes are each week, but you get time to work on in-class assignments beforehand, which are really helpful in completing the quiz.
She is super helpful and explains things in an easy-to-understand way. You only have a few big homework assignments, and if you go into her office hours, she will help you until you have all of it right. The best. Love her.
I'll preface this by saying I don't like accounting at all, but Beth's class probably made it worse. Essentially, with the remodel, the entire class is online, so the only reason to go to class on Friday is to take the in-class quizzes. Other than that, it is essentially a self-taught class.
There is a lot to do outside of class, but if you thoroughly do the assigned readings and homeworks, you will understand the material (it isn't hard). I got away with missing several classes (and even an exam) by getting strong grades on the other exams and projects. She lets you make up points using the final so don't stress too much.
Very helpful professor and knows her accounting however, she started a new format for 221 this semester which was based primarily on viewing lectures online instead of through class. This made class very short, as we only reviewed the very basics of the class, but it was difficult to follow the videos as they were not clear. Buy the books early.
A pretty straight forward class as long as you stay up to date with the out of class videos and readings (make sure to do them before class). On the in class problems she was always very willing to help students.
She has a great speaking voice that engages you for the entire lecture. Her lectures move at a steady pace, and the TA's are there for you to ask questions. If you put in the work, and study hard, you will do well.
I LOVED this class. Killy is an amazing professor that knows how to communicate the material well to students. I left class feeling like I actually learned something. Utilize the MAC instructors and review sessions and you should not have a problem getting at least a B in this course.
Tons of extra credit opportunities, including attending class, attending guest speakers and even a bonus test at the end of the course. She provides a exam review sheet (with answer) outlining ever single question on the exam. If you actually sit down and do most of the examples and try to learn the material you will do well in this class.
She's a really good teacher. She will go over everything you will possibly need for an exam and make sure you are as prepared as humanly possible. Just go to class and do in the in class activity and you will be completely fine!
Prof. Killy relied on you reading the textbooks to learn almost everything. She covered what she felt were the more challenging points in class and only 1 class per week was lecture. The other was an activity and quiz. I felt that I gained an understanding of accounting in this course, but Killy did not prove to be a very effective teacher.
Killy is the only 221 professor so you dont have much of an option. Pros: class only takes 45 out of the allotted 90 minutes, group work in class once a week that is essentially free points on the quiz. Cons: Learn on your own. homework for a topic is due before she ever teaches it, if she does at all. You'll learn through online hw and group work
Professor Killy made this class as enjoyable as it could get. She is a really great professor who prepares you well for the weekly quizzes and 4 exams. This is a fairly challenging class for a lot of students, so you do have to put in a bit of work outside of class if you want to succeed. Would definitely recommend her!!
Great person, great professor. Does have a quiz over the material every week, but as long as you understand the material you'll do well. Always willing to explain things again to you, and genuinely cares about you as a student. Watch the videos, read the books, and study and the exams will be challenging but fair. Stay on top of material though.
Beth is a great person. A lot of this class doesn't require too much teaching, but instead a lot of self teaching. She makes the best of every class and wants everyone to get an A. If you go see her in office hours, she often gives you answers to the projects so definitely do that! Great teacher. Definitely take her.
Beth is a great teacher & wants her students to be successful. She offers so much help, lots of opportunities for points, and teaches the material in the most effective way possible. You will probably have to spend time outside of class learning this material if you want to be successful. There are weekly quizzes, 3 projects, 3 exams and a final.
Beth Killy is a great professor. She gives you every opportunity to succeed, and lectures are interesting since she actually likes accounting. Material is taught in an easy to understand way. The workload is manageable, but I highly recommend going to class, even when its optional- it helps a lot. Ask help when needed, and dont get behind
You pretty much have to teach yourself everything, and she goes over it in class. Its doable but you have to put in effort to make sure you understand everything.
Great teacher for a boring subject. The content is easy; they way she asks questions on the exams is hard. Getting a decent grade in the class is cake, but getting an A will require hard work. As long as you do most of the homework you should be good. During exam weeks you don't have class either, which is nice.
So many students who have had to retake her class to get a descent grade and thats not how school should be set up. She recorded videos 5 years ago and you learn off of that, you use the textbooks but your paying for the projects that you have to do. This class is set up very poorly and she is not a good professor who cares about her students.
She's super nice, but you need to study A LOT throughout the semester to actually understand the material.
If you do the work, she will do her best to help you pass. Would recommend to others.
- Take advantage of her office hours - Although attendance isn't mandatory, quiz every Wednesday and I recommend that you go - Even though there is a lot of reading, do it - Would recommend to anyone
Take advantage of her office hours. She truly cares about her students and wants everyone to pass.
You'll use three textbooks throughout the class. Material is relatively straight forward, a lot of math. She and her GAs are accessible out of class almost everyday of the week. Gives a study guide for each exam that goes over every question. Quiz every other class, but it isn't bad.
Class starts out really easy but the second and third exams were pretty tough. The first class of the week is not mandatory and the second class always gets out 15-20 early. Easy weekly quizzes if you stay up to date. Professor Killy is overall very nice and helpful. Exams are worth a TON of your grade so study hard
Killy is one of the best accounting professors out there, so having her as the intro to accounting prof is perfect. The content is somewhat hard just because all of it is so new and there's a lot to learn, but she's a great teacher and I had no problem in the class at all.
Great person, great professor, TERRIBLE test giver. Truly, her tests are meant to trick you. I never got an A on her exams and yet have gotten nothing but straight A's in level 300 accounting classes. I worked just as hard then as I did now. Her tests need seriously revised, they do not test your knowledge but rather your test-taking ability.
Mrs. Killy is a nice a professor who is available by email and office hours. there are quizzes every week and tests are worth a large portion of your grade. Killy cares for her students a lot. I suggest doing the homework in preparation for the quizzes and exam.
Genuinely cares about the students, but she teaches over 100 students per semester so it's necessary to seek help if you need it. She's a good lecturer and is a fair grader.
Beth was a good teacher and is the only one to teach ACC 221, but she teaches well. The course is well structured but the exams are very difficult. There is many grad students to help in and out of class. If you put in the work that is expected of you, you should be able to get an A or B.
Beth is a very caring teacher. Sometimes her lectures get monotonous but she is good at explaining financial accounting. The tests and quizzes are hard but if you put in the work, you'll be fine.
She's clearly a genius: She realized years ago that she could record the videos once and use it for years after. Projects and exams graded by TA's/ system. Quizzes and tophat auto graded. The first class of the week is a lecture let out early, second class is an in-class assignment. So she basically teaches a short lecture and thats it. Scam
If you do the homework you will understand the lecture much better. The tests and exams are difficult.
In all of my time at Miami, never have I experienced a professor quite like Killy. My biggest regret ever was not taking acc221 at a different school for transfer credit. The tests are designed for failure. If you decide to take this class, godspeed.
Killy is a great teacher for any non-accounting student to learn accounting. She is able to teach her lectures in ways that all students can understand them. While the class itself is pretty tough, she truly cares about getting all of her students to learn the material, and will help you succeed.
Professor Killy is an mazing professor. Within her ACC221 classes, she has roughly 600 students, but each interaction with her makes you feel like you were in a class of 20. She is very personable and willing to do the very most to ensure that her students succeed.
I don't know where these good reviews are coming from. Killy was the absolute worst. Her course is exam heavy and the exams are meant to trick you. I remember one question where she made us round to 2 decimal places and the choices were 1.99, 2.00, 2.01. Like come on! She does not care about her students. Do not recommend like run for the hills.
Elizabeth Killy has it made, she uses the same videos, tests, and quizzes every semester to teach her students. She does not let you review any of your past work, the topics she usually does not adequately cover the material as every question on every exam is there to trick you. She is the only professor for the mandatory business class. Good Luck
Dr. Killy has great lectures, and has videos on canvas for all of the chapters. She breaks concepts down in an easy to understand way, and the exam's aren't too hard to prepare for. You can get by just reading the book if you aren't a lecture learner.
I would really love to give this professor a higher rating. Leaving students without a proper guide to study for. All we got is just a checklist to read from the textbook. Basically, you are on your own when it comes to exams. The homework is almost nothing like the lecture she has given online. Leaving the student to figure it out on their own.
Killy is virtually nonexistent. Requires you to buy 3 textbooks and was the most expensive class I've EVER taken at Miami. Quiz on the second day of class. TA's & computers grade everything for her. You learn everything from prerecorded videos. Get ready to teach yourself, especially if you're doing this online.
You have to buy three (3!) textbooks, none of which are cheap or have a discount. I am also about halfway through the class and don't even know what the professor looks like because she doesn't have any lectures, just gives reading assignments. Her goal was to do as little as possible since she has her TA's do everything for her. Honestly just lazy
I really wish I could give Professor Killy a higher rating, but my low rating is partly because I hate doing work fully online&asynchronous. She is a good professor and very knowledgeable, but I wish we went in person. The textbooks are also around 175, which is ridiculously expensive. When will Miami learn to get the students back to normal class
Beth Killy is very nice and her class was fine until COVID happened and it moved online. The second half of the class is harder and learning it online did not help. I think I would have been able to give a better rating if COVID didn't force us online because I really liked her class at first. Recommend taking her only if it's in person
Studying 2 chapters in 4 days is not easy, especially when we are talking about something like accounting. She would not make sure students are following, instead, she just put materials up there and you are on your own. I don't see any effort of her trying to be connected with her students or considering any circumstances the students might have.
One of the worst professor's I have ever had. Does not hold online lectures during COVID, so instead you teach yourself the entire class. I did not even know what my professor looked like because she never held one lecture. She would literally just email us to remind us of due dates. Seriously the worst and most lazy professor I have ever had.
Professor will spend 30 mins explaining something super easy, and then 2 mins on something that is actually difficult. Gave us only 2 days to complete 2 chapters, homework, and a weekly assignment, all before taking a quiz. If you are not a lecture learner, you will not do well in this class. You will have to self teach through 95% of this class.
3 exams a a final - Quizzes every week She has a recitation class which is really helpful but not mandatory to go to. Harder class online because you have to teach yourself a lot - guessing in person is a lot more helpful.
Killy is super nice and helpful if you put the effort in. This class is tough given the material and online. Exams and quizzes are tough
While the class has a reputation that it's very difficult, as long as you put in the work you can do well. Killy keeps your attention with enthusiasm and is a very fair teacher. Love having her as a prof.
She is very low effort.
Professor Killy is very low effort and uses recorded lectures to teach instead of discussing topics in person. The in-person lectures are pointless to attend, besides on quiz days which occur once every week, because she relies on the students to teach themselves using the videos. If you have any questions though, shes very willing to answer them.
Overall this class wasn't horrible. Killy is a nice person but her teaching style isn't for me. Not a lot of help when it comes to the lectures. Study hard for exams.
Killy is a fine professor. Nothing particularly exceptional about her. Exams are difficult, but her study guides are outstanding. If you do not follow the study guide you will not do well. Tons of extra credit. If you average a mid-high B on all content, Curves + Extra Credit will put you around a 90. ACC221 can be challenging, so be ready to work.
I really struggled with this class. I wish she had not made homework optional. It may be because it was in a lecture hall but her lectures were not engaging and I really struggled to pay attention and engage. Professor Killy is just ok. If you reach out over email she is helpful but I do not recommend her office hours. Use TA office hours.
Professor Killy is the worst professor I have ever had. Her lectures consist of her skipping through difficult subject matter and clicking buttons and having number pop up without explaining what they mean or showing the math behind things. The office hours I have been to it seems like she is just rushing and trying to get you out the door
Lectures are good, but sometimes hard to pay attention to as they can be dull. You have to buy 3 textbooks which gets expensive. Not a bad class, but not amazing either.
Absolutely ridiculous. Lazy teacher that does nothing during class. Exams are 76% of your grade and the material is not hard. The reason the exams sucks is because the entire idea of every question on her exams are to trick her students. EVERY QUESTION IS WRITTEN SOLEY TO TRICK YOU.
Definitely a challenging course. Three exams. A final worth 25%. Beth does not really do a good job of teaching, so if you can't teach yourself that well, you will have an issue. Quizzes every week based on 30 page readings with homework due all in a week. The amount of time needed to recover from her teaching ability is insane. I don't have time
Killy is very hard. I am not good at math and really needed to work hard for my grade. She never really went over stuff well but just kinda like told it to u and said oh well, hope for the best. I have 0 clue what im going to do as an accounting major. maybe time to switch major?
Everyone in business needs to take ACC221, and Killy is the only one to teach it. I think she does a pretty good job. She makes it easy to understand and her canvas videos are helpful. Biggest Tip: Try to do well on the quizzes, if you do well on those, the exams should be a breeze.
I think Killy has been doing this for too long because every lecture sounds like she's reading off a script. Going to class doesn't help you understand the material, but there is a quiz every week so it's hard to miss. Definitely one of the hardest classes in farmer.
Killy does not do much. Her UA's grade the projects and the computer grades the quizzes, homeworks, and exams. The exams are tough if you do not put in hours studying, especially the conceptional questions. She doesn't curve most of her exams, so what you get is your final grade. Not a good teacher, and it does not help the class is 200 people.
Killy is great and really strives to make sure her students know what they are doing. Although, if you don't take advantage of the extra help, extra credit opportunities, and in class work, you won't do well. If I participated more I def would have gotten a better grade. Make sure to do well on the quizzes and then you'll do well on the tests.
I took Professor Killy fall semester of my freshman year for ACC221 and it was my favorite class. I am actually considering changing my major to accounting because of her class. I thought the class was fairly easy and even fun as long as you did the readings and actually put some effort and thought into the concepts. Exams are made up of quizzes.
Killy did not do much to teach students outside of reading pre-made slides. She had her TA's to grade everything and even hold review sessions (which were terrible), and she had pre-recorded lectures. She did not do very much at all on her own and the only way to effectively learn in this class is to put in a lot of work outside of class.
Killy explains concepts with real world examples which I really liked. The weekly quizzes can really bring your grade down if you dont do well so its important to pay attention in class. The exams were tough. I really liked Killy because she was easy to listen to and her lectures never went the full 80 minutes.
Killy is a great professor. Her lectures are very clear and are good for clarifying the readings. Most of the learning is done outside of class, which doesn't work for everyone. On quiz days each week, you do an in-class assignment to prepare for it which is very helpful. The homework can be hard and projects are manageable, but start early.
"Would you take this professor again?" There is no one else that teaches this class... Beth is the only person in FSB that teaches ACC 221. The class is difficult to an extent. Do not take this class at 8:30 AM or you will regret all of your life decisions.
Attendance was not mandatory for lectures, she used three mandatory textbooks which were really expensive, she is very nice and helpful. I'd take her again in the future
Professor Killy is a good professor and will help you if you are nice about it and don't act rude. The actual class is pretty tough, but she tries to make it easier. The homework is kind of tough, but if you pay attention in class you will be fine. The exams are criminal though; They are really tough and you HAVE to study almost a week in advance.
Professor Killy is not great. First, there are three textbooks you have to buy for the whole semester which really add up. I found myself teaching myself everything because she basically speaks a script in class (the same script from the videos she posts). I liked the structure of the class though and there was a lot of extra credit.
Killy is a repsected professor, that is truly passionate about her students. The material is difficult, but doable if you attend classes and actually complete all the homework/practice problems. The course has a quiz every Wednesday as well as 3 exams in the semester.
horrible.
There are a lot of textbooks you will need to buy- it may get expensive. Professor Killy genuinely wants to see everyone succeed.
You have to take her for 221. Not a bad class, you get out what you put in. If you actually read the chapters and attend Monday lectures, there really is no reason you should do badly on her quizzes. Her wording can be tough but you get used to it. Exams aren't bad, you do need to prep for them tho.
Professor is a nice person, decent but unengaging lectures. Good career speakers. Here's the thing: You have to buy THREE textbooks for this class to do HW. ALL of the content in the textbooks could easily be learned through the homeworks or videos linked, or even YouTube. Not a bad professor but too many dislikable aspects of the class.
I thought Professor Killy was an awesome professor. Her lectures are a little repetitive of the readings you do before class, but she encourages class participation. She is very accessible and helpful if you go to her office hours. Only gave her a 4 rating because you have to buy 3 separate textbooks for this course, totaling almost $200.
I took Dr.Killy 2 semesters ago, but her class was unforgettable. Hundreds of dollars on overrated and overpriced textbooks that she co-authored and makes money off of. Lectures suck. Just an overall bad experience, but she's the only professor that teaches this class so good luck because there is no other option. Take this class with a friend.
Professor Killy was overall really great. It's a large lecture, so if you have questions or really want to interact with her you should go to her office hours. She is always very sweet in helping you understand. Random extra credit opportunities. The tests are difficult: take your time. Weekly quizzes are difficult but manageable.
Her lectures were very clear and she linked a lot of supplemental videos and other material on canvas. The exams weren't too bad, but some had a lot of trick questions on them. She was always available for help and she genuinely cared about her students, especially if you utilize office hours.
This class was a solid amount of work, but she provided lots of extra credit opportunities and office hours were accessible and helpful. Her lectures were entertaining and clearly explained the material
Killy is the best prof I've ever had. The class has 3 textbooks, so it's kind of expensive, but this class is worth it! This is the best class I have ever taken on campus. Killy keeps this class very straightforward and has direct expectations: show up to class and you'll pass. Don't forget to study though, each exam is worth 20% of your grade.
She is very clear in lecture and the structure of the class is very organized. This class requires a lot of self discipline but with that it was a good class.
Professor Killy is an awesome professor. She is so sweet and always willing to help. Ask her or a UA questions if you're stuck. Pay attention to the lectures and I recommend taking notes while reading the textbooks; it helps a lot for studying and projects. Lots of extra credit. Overall, I really enjoyed this class.
Expectations of learning were very clear and outlined in the class schedule. She was very open to helping students and checking their work. There were short quizzes every Wednesday based on in class work and homework. Lectures were every Monday. We got the Wednesday after a Monday exam off to either review exams on our own or meet to ask questions.
Amazing professor, class is structured in an easy to follow manner. Attend all lectures and make sure to take notes, she often offers exam review sessions that are very beneficial. Material can get difficult, but she is happy to answer any questions. Keep in class assignments to study for the exam!
Professor Killy is very willing to meet with individual students to break down the information. She is always available during office hours and is very nice.
Dr. Killy is a great lecturer and super easy to get a hold of outside of class. I simply don't understand accounting, but she was always willing to help and expand on different topics. There are 3 exams and extra credit is offered after the second exam.
I really enjoyed Professor Killy and this was one of my favorite classes to attend. The textbooks were expensive, and the first one I really didn't find too helpful. She offers lots of extra credit, and genuinely wants students to do well.
Really easy class overall. Take notes, do well on weekly quizzes, and study for exams. Super straightforward. Exams and quizzes were all very fair. Tons of bonus at the end of the semester making it near impossible to not get a good grade.
Prof. Killy makes ACC 221 very easy to comprehend, provides more than enough material online to review/learn material from lectures, the exams aren't that bad. (her exam study guides are extremely helpful), and she is more than willing to help her students. Going to office hours with her or her students is also extremely helpful for all projects
Killy is a great professor. The class itself is pretty easy if you put in any work and she also gives exam outlines that tell you exactly what's going to be on each exam. She also gives answers if you go to her office hours asking for help with projects. She also cares deeply about accounting and is always available to talk about jobs in it.
Easy if you do what is asked
Very nice professor. Class however can be challenging. Killy does not teach and this class is simply teach yourself.
Killy is a great teacher. Be prepared for readings and make sure to get your homework done by the date recommended even if it doesn't get turned in. Show up to class even it attendance isn't mandatory. Take advantage of her and the grad students' office hours. Just do the work and ask for help if you need it. You'll be alright, I promise.
Killy is a great professor, and her lectures are short and engaging. If you show up to class and take notes, the class is easy. Buying three textbooks sucks, but you don't have an option. She also gives extra credit after every exam.
Be sure to do the textbook reading before the lecture, as she sometimes just skims certain topics. Be sure to take advantage of all extra credit and look over material for the Friday quizzes. The first exam wasn't so bad, but I would HIGHLY recommend studying for the last two. I never went to office hours, but she was very helpful after class time.
Dr. Killy is a great teacher. Everything she wanted from you was specified, assignments and grading rubrics were clear and concise. The material is taught in person and I recommend going to class because she taught us what we needed to know and didn't waste time teaching us about nuanced or irrelevant information and often gave hints for the quiz.
Her classes are all lectures, but are very helpful when you go. There is only three exams throughout the course and she basically gives you the questions, it's just how much you want to study for the exams that determine your grade.
Amazing professor who works hard to ensure everybody's success. The effort you put into the class reflects the grade you get. The lectures were amazing as it targeted the common issues the students were having as well as vital information necessary for the quizzes and tests. I would definitely recommend this professor.
ACC221 was alright but one of the most boring classes. I had her at 8:30 in the morning and her lectures put almost everyone to sleep. I didn't find any of the in class activities or lectures helpful, most of what you learn is self taught
Prof Killy is a really nice professor, and I really enjoyed her lectures. I would definitely take her class again, and potentially other classes yet.
The effort you put in will determine what you get in the class. Good lectures, only boring sometimes. Exams aren't too bad, there's just not enough time to finish them. Would take class from her again.
Not a good prof
Killy had solid materials in her lectures but they were incredibly boring and hard to listen to.
Excellent prof!
