Excellent Prof. May seem distant at first but one you get to know her, she is really open and friendly. Excellent notes and her exams are similar to the notes.

This teacher is the best math teacher ever! And she's pretty easy on the eyes.

I really like her. The midterm seemed to be marked a bit hard, but as long as it was the same for everyone ive got no beef. Her notes are great, very clear if you keep up and pay attention. She's really funny too - i like how she says stuff. that sorta sounded creepy...ah well SHES GREAT :)

Very very helpful. Just go to her office hours, and she'll make the extra effort to explain. Midterm was fair.....I didn't like her final at all though. Had 93 going into the final, and ended up with 83. final wasn't tough...but if you screw up on one question (which was worth 12 marks...well..)

Not a bad prof but does examples right out of the textbook. Always one question on the exam where you're like whaaaa?

Writes the most neatly on the boards among all my profs; makes sense; cuts to the chase, not waste any class time, stays on topic. Good for people who's serious about learning as she has a limited sense of humour -- no jokes in class at all. Overall, pretty good.

Notes written on the board, very clear if you have a strong background (she combines a lot of steps and occasionally will lose you at one step). Has an accent, but it does not affect your understanding of her. Exams are on the more difficult side, but not too bad.

She's a pretty good prof, explains things really well if you ask. Sometimes goes a little fast, but if you have some background it's not too bad. Her exams were fair (on the harder side for math 113 though since its not marked on the curve)

She knows what she's talkin about. Her boardnotes are awesome. Fair marker and the assignment due dates are fair. Always willing to explain things for extra clarity and asks for feedback. She may seen intimidating but she pulls a few good laughs from time to time. I never once fell asleep!

Straightfoward math prof who gets the job done, relays concepts clearly and has wonderfully organized notes that she transfers cleanly onto the whiteboard. Assignments and exams are all reasonable.

I found her notes were really good and helpful when I was doing the assignments. However she does go a little fast in class, probably because she has so much stuff to cover in such a little amount of time. Her questions on the tests are pretty hard, but that is only to make sure that you understand the material, it made me work harder!

Spent too much time on the first chapter, midterm was brutal but the final was a little easier. Easy to follow, but the course is not easy.

Mrs. Leonard does an excellent job of teaching most of the first half of the MATH 113 material. She teaches in a way helpful to those who have not taken math 31. Her midterm was absolutely brutal this year, but her final was more reasonable I thought. (Oddly enough, most of my friends thought the final was worse and did badly).

she is a great teacher, but really strict~ mid-terms were easy, but finals were EXTREMELY difficult~ i didn't get my marks back yet (it's been 2 weeks!), but i don't think i passed the exam and i studied so hard for it. Explain things clearly and her class is usually not boring. Her notes really help on the assignments

I hadn't taken math for two years, but was still able to catch up (with a pre-calculus course), and get an A. She can teach, and even learns your name if you sit in the front, for a personalized instruction. Her tests are fair, just do the homework and try some other problems--that's the only way to study for Math anyway. Take her.

Amazing prof. She inspired interest in a course that I hated previously. If you keep up, it is really hard to fail. Her notes are excellent, and she explains the methods and concepts very clearly. Very organized and helpful. Doing the assignment questions (very relevant and well chosen) also keeps you on top of the material. Very smart woman.

She's amasing! Her notes are so clear. Be ready to take a lot of notes. She does not waste any time which is great: her class goes by really quickly. Do the assingments because the examples she gives in class are easy compared to the ones in the homework. Take Calculus in highschool and you'll do fine: you'll be lost if you don't. Study hard!

She is really clear and will help you with questions not just tell you to talk to the TA. She is thorough and her tests are fair with no big surprises.

If you want to learn something, I suggest taking her class. She doesn't give you hard homework questions and only the easy in-class examples. Things are also covered throughly.

She's willing to help and explains things in a lot of detail. Her exams are easy! --but you still have to study. She will however take marks off for incorrect brackets which is ridiculous in my opinion! Take this course with her if you've done Math 31/31IB.

Leonard was a pretty good prof. From what I have heard, alot of other profs use powerpoints, whereas leonard writes out all of her notes, while at the same time explaining everything she does which is very helpful. Final was pretty easy. Not the most respectful for her students but whatever.

Shes such a hard marker that I lost the mark for the entire question just for showing it in a different way than she wanted, even though I got the same answer and everything, to her, it was TOTALLY wrong. anyways, shes a good prof, you'll learn alot in her class.

Amazing! By attending lectures and being an active learner the course material is crystal clear. No need to read the book, and just for extra practice do the hard questions in the book because if you can do those you can do her tests. She is also very helpful and understanding

This prof was really good! I took Math 31, and she kept an excellent pace. Definitely have to go to class, or you're behind. Write out notes, which helps for listening to her. Explains everything clearly!

Pretty good prof but nothing special. Tests are doable, a few hard questions but the rest is easy. Barly any questions on the theories which was nice. Has a good sence of humor.

I really liked her although her clas goes pretty fast so definitely have math 31 before taking math 113 with her. She does a bunch of theory and proofs and wants you to know the definition of things. But all around, her tests aren't hard if you know your stuff (some other math profs gave some pretty hard questions on exams. hers were quite fair)

Amazing prof! Very detailed, step by step notes. Spends a lot of time developing concepts so you will understand how to do any question your given. Detailed examples as well. Moves quickly in lecture however and exams are challenging but fair if you attend lecture and study. Go to lecture and do the assignments and you will do well!

Great prof. Explains everything clearly. Also has great notes. Much easier than my math 31 class too (so that might have something to do with how well I did). Exams were fair and not much harder than what was on the homework, but practice final was much harder than the actual exam.

Excellent prof. Honestly goes step by step and she shows many different approaches to the same question. Very fair marker, sometimes the lec gets boring, but she lets her classes out early. Practices exams are a lot harder than her actual ones.

excellent prof. goes through lots of examples in class and good, clear notes to study from. assignments are very helpful and she's always available after class to clarify concepts/answer q's. both the midterm and final were fair - overall she is an AWESOME math prof. would definitely recommend, especially for math 115.

Good idea to take Math 31 in high school if you take Math 113. She goes at a quick pace, but notes are EXTREMELY thorough(I did well and I didn't even buy the textbook. She's less intimidating than she appears; if you sit near the front and she recognizes your face when you ask for help =) I hated Math in high school and I LOVED this class.

This teacher is a genius. Although she moves at a fast pace ...its only because she has too. If you didn't take math 31 than u might have trouble keeping up. Theres a lot of theorums involved that she uses to verify answers or prove things but the textbook helps clarify things if her notes don't... Her notes were really really good i never opened t

prof was okay, clearly knew what she was teaching well, HOWEVER, taught it in a VERY HARD way to understand. does WAY too much theory, and is very picky when marking exams. her exams aren't easy, make sure you study the examples in your notes.

Exams were fair, but important to study examples from class. A bit too much focus on proofs in my opinion, but everything got covered in time, so no complaints. Helps you if you ask. Can be unclear what she's doing at times, especially for proofs and the linearization/differentials section.

She was alright, i found that she focussed on a lot of trig on the exams as well as long drawn out answers. If you know the prosess needed then it is a fair exam no tricks. She is very approachable and I suggest you do so if you are having troubles.

good prof, tough exams though. make sure you know all the formulas because the most random ones end up on the exams. make sure to do all the practice questions and you will be fine.

Her class was just hard. All proofs, theories, not very useful for her exams. Her examples were too easy. Homework was a joke, cause it was MathXL. Attending class was pretty bad, you learn basically nothing, and the exams were brutal. Easy at first glance, then you leave feeling like garbage - she likes Trig, alot, even for Volumes of revolution.

Her lectures are dry but she explains the concepts well, if you do the homework she posts on her website you can do well

She definetly knows her stuff, don't be late for class! She does a variety of examples in class. Her notes are all handwritten on the board and you are basically frantically copying down everything from the moment you arrive until you leave. I didn't mind her

I already had done ib calculus in high school so I did not find the course challenging. However, it would have been very difficult had I not already taken calculus. She moves very fast and the midterm average was low. The textbook was only useful for labs and assignments, otherwise just focus on her notes. No proofs on exams.

Lectures are really dry and straightforward, although she did move a little too quickly. Midterm wasn't too difficult, but the final was. Seems to love trig.

Math was always my weakest subject, I sucked at it in high school but Dr. Leonard actually made me like math! Still hard to believe, but it was one of my best classes. Shes very clear and explains each step of what shes teaching. Midterm was easier than I expected, final was a bit harder. Highly recommended.

Her notes give a good indication of what to expect on her tests. The tests are easy if you attend class and do the assignments that you are asked to complete. Do not be late for her class though.

Has really good notes but goes really fast, you need to go to class on a regular basis and pay a lot of attention. She marks really hard, partial marks are a rarity. Not recommended for anyone who struggles with calculus.

She was an excellent prof. Notes were crystal clear and she provided lots of practice questions for the tests up and above those provided in the textbook. Her test were fair and there were no big surprises on them. Attend class regularly and be attentive.

Seemed pretty tough in my opinion. Has a very strict method and learning style, and pretty high expectations. Still a good teacher overall, I guess you're allowed to be that way in math.

She goes super fast, so be ready to keep up. If you don't have any background in calculus you will probably use the textbook a ton. She make the process clear with lots of examples.

She's a great prof to get for Math 114. Her examples are good and her tests are not easy, but they're not really hard either.

Attend the class, take notes, and do the questions in the textbook. Because even though she gives great examples, that's not enough to get a great mark. Also, make sure you do every single practice problem she gives out on her website, because they are extremely helpful! Overall, great professor, and I enjoyed the class.

She is good, knows what she is doing but talks and goes through everything really fast. So if you have no prior knowledge to calculus, I imagine you'd be screwed. In which case you have to go and take the pre-cal course. Overall I would say she is ok. I didn't mind her but I knew calculus going into the course

Good prof. Explains concepts really well but if you don't know at least some calculus, don't take her class or you're screwed. Exams are fair - just practise the examples she gives. The textbook is kinda useless. DON'T BE LATE for her class.

Lectures explain everything thoroughly and she gives many examples that make studying much easier. Attend class and pay attention the entire time or you'll fall behind because she covers a lot of material in a little time. Unnecessary to purchase the textbook if you review her notes and examples along with MathXL; test questions are not any harder.

I hadn`t taken calculus before this class and found it managable. She is a bit tough to follow at the beginning but as long as you apply yourself, you will do okay. She has pretty good notes and gives a lot of examples. Dont fall behind and use the labs and the Help Me Solve This button on math xl to back up the material and you`ll do fine.

Not the most entertaining of profs, but she provides many examples when teaching. Her tests are very fair. Attend the classes if you do not have already have a calculus background!

She knows what she is talking about...But the final exam is totally different from the examples she gave in the last review session...So Do not go to the last class...Cause you are reviewing on the wrong track...

I had a small advantage, that i knew integrals from high school,but finally i managed to understand calculus properly. By going to every class you'll be prepared for assignments, which are somewhat easy; do the practice she gives, it's really helpful; MT was shorter than final, but final can boost your grade quite a bit. Recommend her.

She is a great teacher. notes are very organized and examples are extremely helpful. no need to buy the book if you're in her class

Prof. Leonard is a pretty good prof. 115 is the second class I've taken with her and she is better teaching 115 than she is teaching 114. Beware: she has high expectations and she is a challenging prof. BUT she is very good at what she does! If you are looking to really get taught the material, take 115 with her! Overall, I recommend her.

I love math, and in class she made so much sense and I really learned calculus. Her assignments were tough but really made you learn, I felt so prepared for the final. It was extremely long, not many of us finished it and the averages were so low she had to average ours with the other class to boost it. 2.0 av in the class, half the kids failed.

Notes are precise and crisp. Never uses the book, which is not necessarily a bad thing!

I found that she was quite a good teacher. The first two written assignments were very hard. Most people got wrecked by the midterm because the average was a 52%. Math 100 is not about passing, it is about not failing as hard as everyone else.

Fantastic prof. If you pay attention, understand her examples and do the practice questions/midterms, you will do very well. The questions on her exams and midterms can be found in the notes. Answers questions very accurately and leaves almost no confusion. Would highly recommend.

Pretty important to go to class. she does lots of good examples. Some of the stuff on the final was pretty out there though, so make sure youre trying problems out of the textbook in addition to the webassign stuff.

Dr. Leonard is an amazing professor and the sweetest lady. Go to lectures as her explanations are concise; the textbook is not needed. During office hours, she's glad to answer whatever questions you may have. Be warned though, Dr. Leonard is known to give the hardest exams in Math 114/113, you must study and keep up with the homework!

I enjoyed Professor Leonard! I found her notes meticulous and examples great! She's approachable and seemed helpful although I never went to her office, only spoke with her after class briefly a few times. Exams are fair and easy if you keep up with the homework and practicing. Most questions were right out of her notes. DON'T BUY TEXT - NO NEED!

Dr. Leonard is a great prof. If you attend lectures and keep up with the material you'll have no problem in the class. She's really sweet and funny; very helpful if you come to her with questions. Her exams are extremely fair; they are straight forward and there are no suprises. Highly recommended! Get in her class if you can.

Homeworks are super difficult and complicated, took loooooooooong time to finish one each homeworks. I don't know about the other proffessors but her class seems little bit challenging. but enjoyable and very nice proffessor!!

Excellent professor. Moves quickly, lots of examples, very helpful, doesn't go off on tangents (get it? tangents? Sorry.) Her grading and exams are fair. Do your homework, attend class, actively listen, do your assignments, ask questions, and you will be fine in her class.

Good prof and good lectures. If you took calculus in high school, you'll be fine for 113114 and class is optional. The assignments are tough but doable. They took a while.

Such a great professor. Makes your money worth, and doesn't waste any time. She really cares about her students and provides lots of practice problems and sample exams before midterms and finals. Overall a good class.

A pretty average prof. The notes are great for worksheets and web assigns, as well as the midterm and final. Math 114 is not an easy class for many people, she doesn't make it any worse or better. The material is bland but that's not up to her. Put effort into the assignments and you should do well in this course.

I really enjoyed Elizabeth's lectures. She was kind of funny. And she would tell you what you needed to know for the tests so I can't really complain. I would totally choose her as a lecturer again.

She explains a lot in class. For some people you will think that she gave too much examples in class but the truth is they really helped. The notes she gave are good qualified as well. She is a good enough prof for me comparing who i have got in high school. I liked her.

She gets the job done. If you have her, you'll probably be just fine, but don't expect anything amazing. Her class average was on the low end compared to other classes, so consider joining another class. Her writing is clear, but she uses a lot of abbreviations and symbols. Overall, there's better.

I finished math 31 with a 91%. She's cool and clear but the homework is reaaaally hard and takes forever. There are 9 written assignments (one each week) and they are with 7,5% of your mark. There are also 10 online assignments (go on symbol lab for those) and they are also worth 7.5. midterm was ok and final was hard!

Thought she was a really good prof. Never wasted any class time & got through the material. The homework assignments can be tough, but they will be that way no matter what prof you have.

I had her for both 114 and 115. I found her to be much better for 115. In 114, it seemed that she tried to teach students 'tricks' to help introduce you to daunting university math. However, by 115, I felt that she really began to fully explain and delve into the underlying theories and concepts of the maths and give you all of the tools to succeed

Goes at a fast pace and gets a lot of information into each lecture including theory and examples. Many examples she does in class are mirrored on written assignments. Doesn't seem to be the most personable individual but she's a nice enough person. Would recommend.

Decent prof, she explains concepts clearly & goes over lots of examples in class. A lot of first yrs come to uni expecting classes to be run like high school, and that's just not realistic. Like any uni course, you have to make sure you're doing homework & studying outside of class. She posts her notes online, which is nice b/c a lot of profs don't

Elizabeth Leonard is generally a good prof. She explains the important things pretty clearly with lots of examples but she writes very fast. I don't think she is very helpful outside of class since I asked her questions several times but she only gave me hints which were not very useful.

Overall, the class is not bad. Both her notes and handwriting are easy to understand. She posts her notes on eclass, so you wont be worried about your absence. But if you want to be inspired, maybe you should choose another prof.

Overall pretty good prof who is nice and clearly knows her stuff. Started out skeptical of her teaching, but definitely got better over the semester (or I just got use to it). Midterm was a challenge but final wasnt bad at all as long as you go over class examples. I would say that taking calculus in high school is a must for her class however.

I grew to like her over the semester. I took math 31 and i think that helped me a lot. Many people find her notes too fast and not helpful, but I found that if i tried to work through the examples as she did them, it was very helpful. Easy midterm and final, would recommend if you took math 31.

Great professor. Notes are well organized and easy to understand. If you are international students who worry about professors accents, I strongly recommend this professor since she speaks clearly. Professor Leonard is super patient with students and her lectures are AMAZING!!!!

She's a good professor, she knows how to teach. Her lectures are always logical and clear and easy to understand. Midterm is easy, but final exam will be harder. As long as you study and do your homework and practice exams, you will be fine.

For a student who took math31 in highschool, Leonard is a relatively good prof. She gets straight to the point in class which is good. Notes are posted online so dont worry about copying them down in class. Shes helpful in office hours but if you want a more comprehensive explanation of things i recommend going to decima.

Taken Math 115 a few times and she is by far the best prof I had. Heavy on the assignments given but that could be due to the condensed spring semester. She was very good at answering questions and was kind and funny. All in all, would recommend this prof to anyone.

Leonard graded midterms out of 45, when most other profs graded out of 25 - this makes a huge difference because you have an opportunity to get way more part marks. She goes through material quickly, but so do all the other profs... She is easy to understand and posts her lectures online.

Leonard is a good prof but to do well you have to go over your notes and re do the examples. She goes over material fast and Posts notes online but if you skip class youll have no idea whats going on. Her tests are fair compared to other profs with class averages around 60-65, Trevors classes were always around 50%. Get wize course for midterms

The best Math teacher I have ever had. She is amazing. Explain everything clearly. Exams are similar to samples. Willing to answer all your questions. Highly recommend for everyone.

She is a kind professor. She explained patiently when I went to her office hour. And she also gave us feedback about the exam and homework.

Best teacher ever can do 10 examples with full explanations in record time of 50 minutes 3 times the pace of any other math professor.

Professor Leonard was a good professor for Math 100. She reviewed theory behind concepts while also doing numerous examples each class. She was accessible if you had any questions and she posted her notes after each lecture. Her lectures however tend to be a little bland.

Pretty standard math 100 prof: does lots of examples and explains theory well. Available for regular office hours and takes some questions before and after class. A little shy but all math profs are a little quirky. If you dont attend lectures youre going to have a hard time understanding the procedures to solve examples.

She was direct and straight to the point in lectures. Her office hours were great, I had a few questions and she always was happy to clarify and explain. You could tell that she had been doing this for a long time and enjoyed teaching.

The lectures are extremely heavy but they go by quick. I would strongly recommend doing your best to follow along on the lectures as the amount of examples given can get pretty intense. She gets to the point and this is one of the few classes where missing a lecture gets your seriously behind.

Had her in Fall 2020. Notes had few mistakes compared to profs I've had since then. She shows you everything you would need to know do do well in the course. She doesn't answer questions during lectures or chat much, which means that more examples are covered. Very efficient. But, you will have to do a LOT of work in this class.
