Very cool teacher. Very articulate. She knows her stuff. Quizzes and tests are semi-hard, but bearable, just study. You'll learn alot!

Lobb is really cool. She explains thouroughly and tries new things until everyone understands. Easy B.
She is very nice teacher. You will learn a lot from her if you pay attention to her lecture. Don't expect she will be easy, if you want easy A, take Agyakwa instead.
Her test and quizes are hard, but if you keep up with the homework and papers you will pass the class.
Hard but fair...She expects you to do the work. She will clarify all lectures and makes sure you walk out of class well informed. very enjoyable...and cute too
her class was ok, she's not very understanding though, and gets frustrated if she has to repeat herself to make a student understand.
great class, tons of fun. great teacher, very funny. notes are by the book. a few quizzes which are kind of hard, a few tests, and 1 project. fun class, be prepared to take notes and study.
She's a great teacher. She Knows her stuff. 2 Papers, quizzes, and 3 Exams. Study notes and pay attention and you can pass the class. She is also there with open ears!
I took this class thinking I was more interested in learning the location of country's but the class turned out to be soooo interesting in regards to the cultural, economic, and social status of these regions and the people w/in them. Very hard tests, lots of notes, and don't!! miss class or be late.
Nice teacher, can be a bit confusing because doesn't follow the chapters in order. Take good notes, and do well on the exams and quizes (and don't forget the research paper).
She's a NICE PERSON but a very HARD TEACHER. She expects a lot out of her students. She grades like an English teacher even though the class does not require Eng 68.
If you want to actually learn something, take Lobb. She's tough but fair. Keep up, study hard, and yes; I'm very disapointed that only one other person mentioned how cute she is!
She is so great! She has influenced my life more than any other professor. She's really expanded my views and helped me find my niche in life. Take Human Geography! I know it sounds lame, but it's the best thing I've ever done.
Teacher is very cool and fairly easy, doesn't come to class too much which is nice...You learn a lot and the material is very interesting.
You will not be able to pass her class unless you go to all her classes and study hard for her tests. She gives alot of information, but its not that hard to understand, you dont have to read the book to pass her tests, she tests from notes.
This class will teach you to connect ideas about the world that you probably have never thought of. It's very eye-opening. Study your notes and don't be afraid to ask questions. Lobb is friendly and willing to help out all her students. Quirks: wears long sleeves all the time. Tests are straight-forward. Lastly, SHE IS AS CUTE AS CUTE CAN BE *sigh*
one of the best and easiest classes i ever took, it you want to have a better chance at a good grade you should take a geology course with craig webb and this class will be cake

The class is okay if you are really interested, but she makes the exam kind of difficlult but im going to study more next time.
this teacher, for lack of a better word, is a total **** do not take this class unlass you enjoy sitting and listening to a lady ramble about things she doesnt know. she is also biased so dont get on her bad side. unfortunately i did. i suggest to take this class with a different teacher.
I am very surprised to hear others speak negatively of this professor. She demands quality work from her students, but is intelligent, well organized and committed to helping her students. She does not tolerate students who cheat or students who act irresponsibly--I have to wonder about the motivation for the student who commented on 11/10.
She changed my life & how I look at the world!Very intelligent, likes students to think independently & open to your ideas. Will always help students out, just ask.Demands quality work, but tells you what she expects & is fair. Tests & quizzes from notes, don't need to read book.Go to class & do weekly current events. Gives study guides for test.
Way cool...Awesome teacher who really injoys teaching.
She's very nice, knows what she's talking about, and is a fair grader. If you study& do your work you won't complain but if you like to slack off& not study then you'll only have yourself to blame. Her tests are hard but her study guides are clear and very helpful. Pay attention in class, read your book& study and you'll do fine. Elizabeth U rock!!
She is really nice and fair. I learned a so much in this class. Her tests are not that bad at all. I really enjoyed her class
NOT just a great but beautiful one, its easy to dtud once you over her looks.
A very fair and funny teacher. Her test are based on her notes and book so you better study. She is willing to help if you have any questions. Sometimes even givers hints on what toexpect from the test. This teacher is hey Ok!...
You have to be paying attention to her really well and take good notes because your grade is only based on test and quizzes. She is very clear and easy to understand. She makes her lectures interesting. She gives some extra credit but not much
Overtly expresses her political opinion. Her world view is liberally biased. Typical Berkely nut. Decent personality, but too much political opinion.
If you are a poor map reader, don't take her course. I am a 4.0 student, but SUCK at maps, so I wouldn't have done well no matter what I did or how hard I studied, I just don't do well with maps, even though she is a great prof. IF YOU ARE BAD WITH MAP TESTS, DON'T TAKE HER FOR GEOG2! But she is very nice!
I never heard her "dis" California or push a political agenda. She expects a lot from her students, but is fair. I learned a lot!!! She gives you a study guide for all of her test, so be sure to take good notes and follow the study guide and you will be fine. I thought she was great! Just don't be a goof-off and you'll be alright.
Very hard class. Demands a lot from students. Very nice teacher though. Pay attention, take very good notes, follow her study guides and STUDY HARD an this class wont be too bad. you have to show up to class too. you learn a lot from her and she knows how to joke around too.
Many may find this subject boring, but with a subtle sense of humor and concise information Professor Lobb was able to make Geography enjoyable enough to do well in class and further my interest. She is willing to help and loves to relay more info if your interested
I really liked this class. It was online and Professor Lobb was very clear and what she wanted and when she wanted it. I learned a lot and I am glad I took the class. I had some difficulties with the online tests but she was very understanding. Overall, it was a good experience.
Great teacher! A wealth of information! Class consists of 4 tests and 4 quizzes (although the quizzes are practically tests in size). All quizzes and tests have essay portions, so make sure you can construct a coherent essay if you plan to take this class! NOTE: take detailed notes of lectures..ans study them well..don't miss a lecture
This was a very difficult online class. I have learned more in this last 8 weeks than in any other class I've taken so far. 6 2-page essays, 8 quizzes, graded discussion topics for each chapter, plus the final. I would not recommend doing it in 8 weeks, if you have the choice. No extra credit.
Good teacher, has a sense of humor and is nice. Take good notes and study them and you'll do well. The textbook use is very low, if you're attentive you could do fine using the libray copy once or twice in the semester.
Great professor. Has a passion for teaching and does a great job at it. Don't expect to pass without getting to class. Take lots of notes and study them, it will save you. Books used very little. Just use the library copy. Wont regret taking this class.
Pretty good just hard to take her class online
Really interesting class, didn't expect it to be what it was. Gets you really involved in lecture, make sure to take a bunch of organized notes, it'll help when you review. Easy quizzes and tests, just make sure you study everything the day before+ she gives study guides. Generous with the point giving, and gives extra credit opportunities.
World geography with Lobb is the best. She is very passionate about geography. You'll learn something new everyday in this class.
AMAZING. Her lectures are crystal clear and extremely concise, very interesting and relevant to today. She uses case studies to illustrate on her lessons, which helps make everything applicable to the world today. REALLY nice, helpful, and always happy! Tests are okay; scantron and essay. Be sure to know your case studies! Highly recommend!
Easy A/B, Just take good notes, tests are multiple choice (with only 3 answers per each), don't really need book, 2 papers, but overall if you take good notes and review them before tests you'll do fine
Okay honors teacher!
Ms. Lobb is the best! She cares for her students & is willing to help out in anyway. She provides immediate responses to questions. Very good teacher! Must take!!!!!
So so.
Must Take!
Took her for the winter 2011 & the class was very enjoyable. She ensures her students are not falling behind on the class. Take her!!! Her grading structure is very fair. Final is 28%, 6 research papers are 33%, responses are 13%, & quizzes are 25%.
Her assignments are clear, follow the lecture notes and read the chapters. All of the answers to quizzes, discussion questions come right from the book. We definitely take a class from her again
Such a boring class. Not easy by any means. If she wasn't semi good looking, I would fall asleep instantly. Dont recommend because you will risk lowering your gpa by getting a B in this class. Take another class for the six honors.
You must do your part as a student & give it ur best shot! If you try hard in her class, you can still end up passing with a B, or maybe an A. Make a study group if needed. Make sure to re read the chapters!
If your an "A" student, you will need to put forth your best in this honors class. Recommend taking her in a non honors class.
Not an effective instructor in the sense that she simply lectures-discussion is simply there to have her impose ideas upon students-and she does very little to help students understand how to connect ideas. Never uses textbooks, exams based on study guide and notes alone. Don't take her, unless you want to risk your GPA.
We had to do an article review in class where she asked us to write our opinion at the end of the paper. I must have made the mistake of insulting her article, therefore, I recieved a "D" because "my opinion got in the way of a solid paper." When we spoke in person she said I wasn't up to college level. haha. I wonder how I made it into honors??
Grades tough but fair. Challenging but interesting. Exam questions are right out of her lectures,so take good notes, textbook is helpful for review.Honors:she expects you to be ready to discuss and focus, she is not going to hold your hand but she is availible during office hours or email. Good professor. Advice:if you have questions SPEAK UP
not helpful
Okay, this proff. isn't getting due ratings on this site. I took her for Honors Human Geography and had no prior knowledge of the subject, put in the effort and got an A. She is interesting; and there if you need help during office hours. She won't hold your hand but she gives you the expectations straight. If your a good student, you will do well.
Teaches directly from the textbook. Read it and take notes, do the study guides she provides for each chapter, and make sure your work is thorough. Offers an extra credit assignment that brought my grade up to an A. Got 96 & 97 on midterm/finals. She does nit-pick at times but overall a decent online prof.
She grades hard, but she is a great professor. She expects students to write a lot. Email her if you have any questions. She is very understanding. GREAT CLASS, but heavy load of work.
I loved going to her lectures!! She is brilliant, articulate, sassy, and fun. She tells you whats going to be on her exams (focus on essay Q's). Honors students- just don't procrastinate on /e article reviews and you should be okay. I would suggest taking her lectures rather then online because I learned so much. Absolute pleasure-Take her!!
Online class.. 4:Quizzes, 160 points /1 Midterm Exam, 100 points/10 Discussion Forums 50 points/1 Final Exam 100 points Okay class. just work hard, use the correct examples and cite references. oh and write alot! alot of studying to pass class.
I would never take her online class again. I expected to see video of the lecture, but online class only gets Powerpoint. It's very boring and lots of work. Need to write alot and reference all facts and findings in the book or her reading material in tests, quiz, and discussion in order to get A. Maybe her lecture class is different than online.
Her online class was very difficult. She seems to grade pretty harshly and you need to put in a lot of effort and reading for an A. impossible to pass her exams without reading the books. She is helpful to students. Seems like a nice person but her class is very hard. Would not recommend because there are so many easier online classes out there.
I took her actual class, not the online one, and she was amazing! you really learn in her class and even though she lectures most of the time you stay awake! as long as you take good notes and study them you will be fine! you NEED to get your topic approved for the two papers...that's the only real problem people had in class.
Professor Lobb is wonderful. However, her online class is not. The set up is wht you would expect from an online class, lots of reading and discussions. The textbook is vague and hard to use, and her ppts mention things not covered in the textbook. The class is not hard, but is a lot of work. I would probably recommend her class on campus!
Elizabeth Lobb's grades hard for her online course. There is wrong information posted on her tests that she marks you wrong for and does not give you the opportunity for you to show her the mistake. Her online course does not promote an environment of learning but regurgitation of the text confusingly reworded by her.
Online tests are more of a misdirection or a "let's try to trick the student!", rather than a normal multiple choice test. (odd, obscure questions, sometimes misspelled)
Professor Lobb's online class was fairly easy. I only got a C becuase i really didnt try. I didnt everything last minute, yet i was able to pass easily. Take her if you really are just taking this class for the G.E. it wont get any easier than this. IF you want an A just do the work and read a little.
Great professor personality-wise, but academically, her study guides are very vague. Her tests consists of lots of essays.
Shes not that great at clarifying anything. all you have to do is read everything she gives, power points, study guide questions, and articles she gives to you. Just study hard!
Assigns work that is heavily bias in terms of how you answer your questions. Gets bent when you use google to actually research the topic discussion outside of the book definitions. Please avoid if you have little to no patience for stupidity.
She was by far the worst teacher I had at mt. Sac! She would ask for opinions and then shoot down your opinions immediately. She rejected everything our class said to her. She is not very friendly and if you aren't an expert in human geography, expect to me talked to like your stupid. She was not helpful, respectful, or nice. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!
8 wk online, spring semester. Tough grader!! Hard to get full credit on many discussion posts! Even though I answered what was being asked! I've taken many online classes and I never had an issue with discussion boards. Overall, she has nice class structure. Tests multiple choice + couple essay questions (2-3, not too long, easy to answer)
Pretty good, hard grading. Papers can be confusing if you don't get approved by her, but they are short, only 2 pages will do.
Took it online, did okay, she answers emails really fast. Pretty straight forward and you do good if you follow directions.
Only prob w taking her course is now I'm broke cuz she gave me the travel bug. Took her class several months ago, now i can't stop planning trips to visit countries I learned about.
Best class ever. Yes you have to work but this is college, your going to have to be at class, but she gives some ec so you can get a good grade. I love this teacher.
Pretty easy online class. I took it in the summer so it was kind of fast but overall pretty easy and she grades pretty easy.
I'm not done with the class yet, but it's really good. She;s good at explaining even though its hard. She gives hard tests but lots of homework so you can bring your grade up.
Lobb honestly gave some of the best lectures I've had at mtsac so far. She is passionate about her work and her love for geography rubs off on you. She is very cheerful and sociable in class and it really gets class participation going. However, her tests are all essay based and are not easy. You must be a strong writer to ace the class.
What a breath of fresh air. I absolutely adored her class, it was the first time I ever felt excited to go to class. She works hard on her lectures and it shows. She's very articulate and explains complex subjects very well. Her tests aren't difficult and are based off her lectures, so be sure to attend. If I could, I would take her class again! 3
Professor Lobb is truly the college's shining star! Her understanding of the world and its complexities is astounding. However, take notice: her class is NOT to be taken lightly. Because Lobb is genuinely interested in her students' success, she expects you to learn, rather than study, the material. Her wise words are worth every dime, though!
It's always fun to be in her class. She always provide thoughtful and interesting materials. Tests and quizzes can be hard if you do not study based on the study guide she provides. Her grading on short essays can be tough if you do not put in effort.
I think she is really open to questions she always ask us if we need help. She read my whole paper and gave me a lot of comments before I turn it in so I get A on paper. I think she care more than any other prof here and that say a lot.
She is the BEST geography Instructor. Only take tenured professors. The rest are head cases
Great class!
Super fun class and interesting lectures. Essay exams that she gives a study guide for. Just repeat reading your notes multiple times and you will have no problem on the exams. They are 100pts total with only 4 questions worth 25pts each. Essays are fun and simple just do them early.
Professor Lobb is a tough grader. Lectures a lot. She will ask questions based on lectures during discussions, if you answer incorrectly she chuckles. Bit snobby in that aspect. Tough grader on writing assignments. Exams are multiple choice and lengthy essays. Has multiple writing assignments.
She has a very adorable personality. She's really nice, super helpful. She reads over your rough drafts and makes comments that really help, her quizzes and tests really got me at the beginning but as soon as I paid attention to the study guides I raised my grade up greatly. She's awesome, but you need to put in the work.
Very tough grader. Unless you are really ready to work don't take her. All based on lecture. No study guides. Tests and quizzes essay format. Very hard class in general. If you try really hard you may pass with a C. Just look for another professor. She's nice and all but not a good class
If you say something shocking that she does not agree with she WILL treat you differently. I attempted to share personal experience on a culture I'm a part of and she clearely disagreed with me. Since then she has not responded to my urgent emails 2 times and I have no confidence speaking up in class and have never been so discouraged by a teacher.
She is one of the toughest professor I have ever had at Mt Sac. her online course make you frustrated so please read every chapter thoroughly before taking the quizzes and do the research assignments. Her final exam is more difficult than you think, a lot of random things from her materials and no study guide at all. SO PLEASE STUDY HARD.
If you are not there it will cost you but easy B.
I read some of the other comments and they surprise me I took it online and I thought it was pretty easy, then again, I have gone to a 4-year so maybe I just know what college professors expect. The online class you need to read the book but the quizzes are all multiple choice.
She is my favorite prof this semester. Her lectures are easy to follow and she tells you the essay questions for the quiz and exam ahead. I am taking her again and would recommend her.
The online class is good, not too hard. There's only two exams with essay, the other quizzes are all multiple choice. For the discussions, just throw in a quote from one of the readings and you'll get full points.
This is a good class, not too much work. I would def take again.
I learned more about the world in this class than four years of high school. Taking her again next semester.
I loved this class os much I learned a lot about places that I didn't even know were there. You definitely don't need the textbook, exams and quiz are all based on lecture. Hardest is the paper, but if you take it to her ahead she'll really help you. I'm taking her again in the spring.
She's s tough grader especially if you don't quote from the book or videos. The book needs to be updated and you can rent it cheap from Chegg for 20.00. Yes I passed the class with a B. This was an online class it was easy but a lot of reading and discussion questions.
I did it online and it was a really good class, I learned a lot. It was a short class only 8 weeks so you did have to keep up with the reading, but it's just textbook reading and a few other articles and some videos, not a big deal. I recommend!
This was a great class even though it was online I felt like the professor really cared about us, she even let me do a makeup when I missed the deadline. She's awesome!
A genuinely decent human being who cares about her students' education. No extra credit though.
She helped me regain respect for higher education after the Indoctrination from my history profs. Learn about the real world with this prof. I think she's from New York or New Jersey.
We learned about rain down in Africa and we took some time to learn the things we never had. There was no line, she was always on time
I do not recommend this Professor. Her grading is absolutely ridiculous. If she asks a homework questions and you adequately answer it she will reply with the exact example she wanted you to use. Absolutely ridiculous and unfair Professor. Do not take her unless you want to break your brain on what answers would please her enough for an A.
Professor Lobb has an adorable and sweet personality and she can make Human Geography a fascinating subject. Tests are multiple choice with 2 short essays and exams are 2 short essays with a long one as well. As long as you pay attention to her lectures and write down everything she says you will pass. You don't the textbook just pay attention!
I had to do some make up work and she was amazing always cared a lot and she let me do the exam on another day. I really recommend her she even referred me to the Honors program. She's awesome.
This was online and you don't need the book just use the lectures she gives you. It's a good class, there are videos to watch and only a few essays on the midterm and final, but other than that you don't have to do that much writing. She's really nice, too.
Needed lots of work on analysis. There are quizzes and discussions or analysis paper due every week. The discussion and analysis papers need a very good understanding of the topic. Sometimes the assignments are hard to understand but you can ask the prof. She is caring and replies fairly fast.
Lobb is a great professor! Took her online GEOG2 class (8 weeks), she provides great and helpful lectures, clear instructions on assignments, VERY organized, lots of reading as well but overall I highly recommend this course.
Prof Lobb is very good! I took her online GEO summer course and at first I was afraid of the technical side of this subject. However, professor Lobb made the reading material very interesting and her lecture videos are online so you can just keep reviewing them if you don't understand something. She also gives you the notes for the chapter's!
She is witty and her sarcasm is a must. She makes learning about this subject very fun.
Great!! Three exams with essays + e.c, three map quizzes & chapter quizzes, she has mini group projects to introduce the region. 2 mandatory research papers, 3 opportunities tho. she gives you the link to the textbook, I would take her again if I could. The study guides are accurate to the test. Just study from the lectures and know your maps!
Visualizing Physical Geography 2nd ed textbook required. Lots of reading. Discussion forums. Vid lectures. Transcript provided. Study questions straight from textbook but not really helpful at all. Ch quizzes 20 questions timed. Allowed attempts 2. Beware only LAST score counts and questions change. 1 midterm and final 100 questions plus essays.
Dont take her, just dont do it trust me anyone else is better
Exams do not match study guide and lecture. Is not approachable for questions and very degrading.
If you are looking for an easy A to breeze over do not take Professor Lobb. If you want to genuinely explore Geography and have a great experience take Professor Lobb! I enjoyed her class because of her ability to keep the information given engaging. Cannot express how great of a Professor she is.
Initially I felt intimidated to take human geography but Elizabeth is very clear on what she wants from her students. This ended up being one of my favorite classes because I feel I learned so many useful things that i can incorporate into my life. Just stay on top of assignments you should be fine. She also responds to messages right away.
literally all her resources were outdated from like 2004 and she just wants you to write on whats interesting for her which can be common in some professors but she was really picky it was always pass or fail essay even when I worked very hard and followed the prompt.. just find someone else (:
Great class for those who are dedicated to work for their grade. Though the 3rd version of the textbook is recommended for the class, I got away entirely fine with using the less expensive 2nd version (though chapters 9 & 11 are swapped). No zoom calls. Discussion/essay + quiz due twice a week, Sunday and Thursday. Put in the effort and you're good
If you're looking for easy A, NEVER take her. Quizzes mostly don't match her lecture and study guide. 2 attempts allowed but only last one score and can't go back to the questions once you click next. Discussions/essays require tons of reading and watching hours long video. Even follow the prompt exactly, not giving full credits. PICK SOMEONE ELSE
The teacher is awful. She has a lot of sources but does not match quizzes and exams. Heavy works. Two discussions each week. An hour video (total 3 videos) and have to answer questions. Her discussion holds a heavy part in your grade as like the quiz. If you want A, DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!REALLY!
Professor Lobb is not a very helpful teacher. She grades like shes teaching kids how to become professional meteorologists. Her essays are ridiculous. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TAKING THIS CLASS!!!!
I seriously advise you to not even waste your time with this professor. The class discussions are almost like essays, I had to drop the class because it was just too much. I promise you can find an easier class with a more helpful professor
Her grading for assignments and during discussions is actually ridiculous. Taking four other classes (history) where writing actually matters and I do not get marked down like I do in this class. Lessons are clear and information is there her grading is just insane. Tests are fine and quizzes are fine as well.
A very good teacher. You can write against the grading rubric before writing the discussion, and you can easily get a perfect score. I got a high score of 99.26 this semester. She was very patient in answering my questions. Take it!
Great teacher I went in thinking this class was just maps and when it was over I had learned so much more. Yes there are quizzes and lots of reading with videos, but were here to learn and she doesnt make it hard. Great feedback on what you needed to work on. I would take her class again I could.
Weekly discussion, quiz, and report per week. Quizzes are hard, dont match study guide. Required a lot of reading, provides text. Lecture is confusing/unorganized. I did very well the entire semester. one exam she scored me very poorly, she didnt provide good feedback, and it was unclear as to why. This class burnt me out, dont recommend
This professor was hard. I took her 8-week class course this semester, and she is a tough grader on her assignments. Her quizzes are hard. For her exams she made us do an essay of 2-3 paragraphs for 2 questions each.
You will learn a lot, but that's why you are at college right? I wouldn't say it was easy, but it was very manageable. She was always respectful and answered questions. Gives 2 attempts for quizzes. Not hard to get an A, make sure you understand the lecture materials. Overall, great class to take!
Every week there are 2 quizzes , 1 discussion , and 1 essay every other week. Tough grader when it comes to discussions and essays. Grammar and spelling errors results in point deduction. I understand how Geography and Meteorology are related, however she focuses heavily on meteorology and she expects you to be a professional weather forecaster.
Worst professor EVER, everything of this class was stressful, from the exams to the reading. The exams composed of 2 essays and 20 questions and only given 80 mins. No matter how detailed my responses were, I still managed to lose points. Don't take it. Listen to that voice in the head and pick another teacher, you'll thank me later.
I took her online 16-week human geography class during fall 2022. She provides the weekly readings which is nice. The exams are composed of 2 essays (relatively short). She sends out a lot of reminders and notices. I really liked the class content and the pace, definitely expect to put some kind of effort to obtain an A.
Her class is tough; thus, I rather find another professor to teach this subject. I love this type of subject but she ruined it for me. She gave me a low score because I used other sources to help me with my discussion. I didn't steal any ideas because I also cited the source. I focused too much on her class that I lost track of the other class.
Absolutely unnecessarily hard. The first week is super easy literally after that everything goes to down. There is a ton of reading. Only gives 15 mins to do a 15 question quiz. Good news is that she gives you a second try at the quiz with completely different random questions, so pointless.Need to do 5 papers,Im an excellent writer, still got an F
The type of professor that does NOT want to see students succeed. Her main goal is finding ways to deduct points from your work. Assignments are scrutinized with a fine-toothed comb no matter how much effort you put in, she'll find something to deduct points for. Citing from the textbook she provided will also result in points being docked.
Probably the most meticulous professor I have ever taken. Unnecessarily difficult for no reason. Extremely tough grader with little to no feedback and very hard quizzes/tests. If she sees you not trying or using the textbook for discussions, she will take off a lot of points. I ended up dropping this class for Professor Pietsch and received an A.
Normally I have no difficulties with science courses and end with an A or B. But it seemed no matter what I did I always received a bad or mediocre grade.
Professor Lobb has a very good online class, she gives great feedback on every written assignment and is also extremely easy to reach. I had taken some other writing heavy classes and their grading scale and feedback's were less than generous.Professor Lobb's class was a joy to take even if I had to read a few thousand words of notes every Tuesday.
TOUGH GRADER!! I visit her during EVERY office hour for she could check my work before I submit. As a person she is nice but as a professor, she IS NOT GOOD AT TEACHING. She doesn't care about her job! She gives all of her students poor grades unless you visit her during all of her office hours. She has made lots of mistakes while grading.
She makes an online class unnecessarily difficult. She provides her own textbook. There are 5 minute timed quizzes and written papers for each module. We are not allowed to view the previous question on the quizzes. It is a six week course and makes this class harder than it needs to be. Very demanding for no reason. I suggest you do not take her.
Do not take Lobb. Toughest grader ever. Condescending in her feedback. If you do not treat her class liek the most important thing in the entire world for you- you will fail. Essay after Essay. Timed quizzes 1 min each question. Takes tons of points off for a misspelled word or grammar- literally thinks this is an English class. Do not take Lobb
Took Lobb for an 8-week course. Had a C+ after the second week because of a small error in a paper, so i had to see her every week after that for office hours, email her constantly, and beg her to proofread my work so that she could call out any errors. Tests aren't too bad, but the quizzes kill. Tons of reading. 1 extra credit opp that saved me.
8-weeks for online class. Super hard grader & picky with what she wants. Writing assignments if you miss one thing she gives 1/5 points for that part on an assignment that's 20 points TOTAL. If the work isn't perfect you'll get 12/20 at best. Quiz 5 Q's but only 7 min limit. Exams are 35 Q's but you get 40 mins. Super picky AND HARD WOULD NOT TAKE.
TERRIBLE! grades everything like this is a 500-level college or graduate-level course. Super nit-picky on all assignments, will subtract points just because of a minor mistake. You'll easily get 10/20 or 12/20 for missing one tiny detail. Like I would understand if it's like 15 or 16 out of 20 but DAMN. Quizzes and tests you barely get any time.
Horrible professor. Difficult grader and will dock you points for everything. It's like she's the type of professor who wants people to not do well. Barely any time for quizzes and tests, only about a minute or so per question. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Difficult, lengthy written assignments. Asked her why I lost points and gave me feedback. I then applied that feedback to the next assignment and got the same score like WTF. Save yourself some time and stress and get a different professor.
I took an 8 week course with her which may contribute to why I had so much material to read but there was always so much reading. There is also a lot of writing and she is very nit picky about the assignments you turn in. Be prepared to be graded harshly, however, she does give good feedback to what you can change for next time.
I took this class for 8 weeks. The professor is very supportive and she is very friendly. After each reading there is a test that is given twice but only the second time is taken and not the highest grade. These mini tests were a bit stressful for me but it is great if you enjoy the subject.
A tough class with a picky grader. The professor has high expectations and little leniency, making it a challenge to get good grades. However, using tools like unstuck study for study prep can help navigate the class. Overall, a class to approach with caution.
I'm taking the GEO1 class, I like that we don't get to buy a textbook and she makes all her material for us! What I would like is that the material she provided had something to do with the assignments, there's little to no explanation on any of the assignments and she expects perfection. Too hard for an intro class. Very picky grader. :((
AVOID! Hyper detailed readings; quizzes = 5 Q, 5 MIN. Sounds easy? Question/answers confusing (Google will be of no help) No time to read/think during quiz/tests. 3 Tests: 40 questions/40 min! Weekly assignments: detailed analysis required of content not taught! Stands by her grading, even if you are right. Be prepared to fight for your grade!!
Answers in the module don't match the quizzes. You are guaranteed to get questions wrong. Very harsh grader.
Honestly, the workload isnt bad for online. There is a lot of reading each week.Theres 2 quizzes and either a discussion post or mini essay. My issue is her grading. You get two chances for the quiz but she doesn't take the better score, she takes the 2nd score even if it's lower. She also takes lots of points off if you dont respond to classmates
Extremely tough grader, seemingly never satisfied, grades papers like an English prof when she's not. SOOOO much reading and SOOO much homework. Her canvas assignments were full on essays each week. If you're looking to satisfy your Social Studies GE, look for an easier teacher I promise you.
I was very pleasantly surprised by Lobb's class! I loved her lectures and many students, including myself, enjoyed discussions in/after class with her. Lectures are easy to follow and she posts the slides. Decent number of quizzes and exams, not too hard, and two simple papers! I loved her class; plan to take her again!
I thought she helped make geography engaging by applying it to history and connections with the world around us. I really liked it when she allowed the students to get into discussions about the material, but at times, these discussions led to me taking too many off-topic notes. The lectures were still great, but prepare for lots of writing.
