Sounds like alot of work to do at first, but it is really fun and she gives TONS of extra credit for every test. She's very animated and interesting to listen to. I would recommend her for a teacher.
Goofy, hyper and it seems overwhelming, but she gives you all the info and lots of opportunity for extra credit. She likes to cite "her private practice" and speaks very loud.
She's nice, I like her. Very easy class. Recommend her.
she is a very undertanding teacher. she also gives alot of extra credit for tests you have fail on. she also likes to do alot of groups activities
Great teacher. Seems like a lot of work at first, but there is time to get it all done.
I took her over the summer last year and she was so nice. Her class was easy if you took the time to read over the notes..i mean come on she prints out her power points and makes copies for eeryone! I have never saw any evidence that she didnt have control of her class. I think that everyone should take her for Psychology
Interesting class.Took her for summer school She goes through the material very fast. Gave plenty of extra credit.Study and attend daily and you should past this class with ease. Overall shes a fun and easy teacher.

Really into psychology and a good teacher. Pretty lenient and understanding. It was a fun class I would recommend her to everyone.

Ok how easy can it get? she lets u copy all the powerpoints she uses in her lectures from the library. i recommend doing that because thats what u need to study for the tests! this is an overall fun class!
She puts more effort into helping students succeed than any teacher I have every had.
An easy A if you read her notes and listen to her lectures. Her projects are not hard just make sure your group are not slacking off like mine. She's a cool teacher. If you have a question or need help then just ask. She also gives students lots of chances; if your paper are late just slip them under her office door the next day or that night.
Freaknn Eazyyyy!!!... Omg.. ud have to be brain dead not to get an A in this class!.. come on now!... Exams are all easy, she basically tells ya whats gonna be on it, and for the projects, theyre all simple... She starts off talking about how hard its gonna be, but then the classes gets really easy.. dont let her scare ya off!... itll pay off ;)
One of the best prof. I have ever had. She will simplify the material so even the most uneducated will understand it. A+++
took her in the summer. lecture can get a lil' boring, try not to fall asleep. for one of the projects we got to play cards for candy. very cool. print out the powerpoints! easy A.
Took her class in the summer, we had 3 teachers teach the class. She was good. Big on power points and very organized. take notes on the handouts.
She is so fun and helpful! She's the advisor to the psych club and she has real field experience. She gives lots of extra credit and is very easy to understand! I definately recommend her!
The best professor I had at Delta College. Brilliant and funny. Had her for psych 46 and psych 47. Tests consist of lecture. She actually prints out lecture notes so you dont have to take notes. Tons of extra credit. She is very helpful and very understanding.
She is a great teacher, easy to learn from her for your class, her tests are easy too, the worksheets she assigns for extra- credit should be done but are all easy. Head of the Psychology club so it shows she is professional at her work.
When I took this class, we had 3 diff. teachers teaching it. Out of the 3, she was the best. I understood her the best, and she made things FUN. I wish she taught the whole semester because I would have probably gotten an A, instead I got a B because the other teachers were so BORINGGGG!!
Dr. Maloney is a terrific instructor. She's caring understanding, down to earth and funny. I would recommend her for all psychology courses.
Thank you very much. You are a great advisor.
THIS TEACHER IS OK. SHE IS VERY DISORGANIZED HER NOTES SUCK SHE HANDS THEM OUT BUT LATER ON IN THE CHAPTERS YOU HAVE TO BUY THEM. NEVER GAVE ANY STUDY GUIDES FOR THE TEST THE MATERIAL SHE LECTURED ON WAS NEVER ON THE TEST SO IT WAS TO STUDY FOR IT. BUT SHE MADE ME FEEL STUPID TAKE ANOTHER TEACHER.
Dr. Maloney is rad. She is organized and very patient. I never felt intimidated by her, she is very smart and knows what she's talking about. I can't wait to take her abnormal psych class next semester!
SUMMER PYSCH. 1A COURSE WAS FUN AND EASY!! STUDY FOR EXAMS, HOMEWORK AND EXTRA CREDIT SHOULD GET YOU IN A A-B GRADE RANGE. ALTHOUGH IT WAS A 4 WEEK COURSE - I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED HER.
Dr. Maloney is a great teacher. Everything thats on the test is lectured on in class and in your power points. I never used my book, but took notes during lecture. (Make sure you study graph percentages/averages/and important people for the test)If you miss class she lets you make up work for half credit, and she gives a lot of easy extra credit. S
Easy as Heck! She hands out her power point notes, tells you what will be on the test, and the test is all based on her in class notes. Don't need the book AT ALL!!! A lot of extra credits if you do bad on the test, which I did and it help me, I got an A. Very helpful, ask ANY question and she will answer it.
The best Prof I have ever had!!!!!!!!!!
She hands out her power points and is VERY understanding.People in the psyc club say she is the best adviser at Delta. She's kinda cute to. A+++
Dr. Maloney is the bomb.I am so lucky I got a chance to take her summer psych01 class.I wish all my professors got this involved with their students.
she's pretty cool
She a Pretty cool teacher. Allows you to turn in homework late for like a couple points off. Pretty interesting stuff. She can be humorous. Gives Extra Credit.
Dr. Maloney's class was fairly simple. She gives you the powerpoint for each chapter. However, if you are absent be sure to have a study buddy in that class to get you one or you will be out of luck. Her syllabus says no late work in bold print and yet she allows it anyways. Awesome teacher and gives out easy points such as her group experiments.
Pretty cool teacher, by far the most entertaining I've had. Keeps subject matter interesting. Homework is incredibly easy, lots of extra credit opportunities.
AS long as you come to class you should have no problem passing her class very easy teacher
It is essential that you read the textbook, study guide and her PowerPoint handouts, they are used heavily for the exams. Many opportunities for extra credit, a fair amount of homework and three papers (2-3 pages). Easy for those who have good reading/study skills. Great instructor, learned a ton of new information!
knows her stuff, but could be more interactive to make class more interesting. Group projects are performed, but there is never any feedback. Do all your work and extra credit, which is not all that difficult and you will be okay.
She is a good teacher, she just reads off her powerpoints... do your hw theres plenty of extra credit. 1 essay, movie critque n a 10 min class presentation.. but book is really expensive! $200
She's a fun lady, and this is a fun class. It's primarily just powerpoint presentation. Some interesting video clips, too. Homework is easy and there's a couple papers that are 2-3 pages long. A pretty easy class. Worth taking. Maloney is also really helpful to you and wants you to succeed. Accepts late work.
very helpful and understanding teacher
Its a good class, too much busy work, but to pass all you need to do is study the powerpoints. There is a test every 2 weeks..ie..every 3 chapters...an essay and a presentation.
Class is easy, but you will seriously need to handle your business. Make sure you do highly on every exam of hers if you want to comfortably pass. A lot on weight and emphasis on exams. Overall good teacher.
The class is easy, the subject is interesting and IMPORTANT. The tests can be difficult because she asks questions about statistics. The problem I had with this class was that she ONLY read everything off the power point which she copy/pasted from the textbook, making lecture VERY boring. She strikes me as a professor who earned her degree online.
her class is not that hard, but the test are kinda hard if you dont study. class work is very easy.the lectures are interesting, just her voice alone makes you want to learn and pay attention.she has a very nice voice.
Maloney class is fun and easy, it simply cant get any easier. She gives all her powerpoints out and she is clear during lectures and compares it to daily lives to make students understand! Her test are some what easy, her projects are easy also and her term papers are easy also! She is a great teacher, I passed with a B
Dr Maloney is an Awesome teacher she really cares about her students. It was great that at graduation this year she was given the "Distinguished Faculty Member" award. She has helped me and many of my friends we all think she is great
Dr Maloney is very orginazed. She gives many chances for extra credit and grade updates all the time. She also gives copies of her power points to students. She is truly an expert in her field. She also teaches at UOP and is the advisor to the psych club.
Dr Maloney is the best professor I have had at Delta.Sounds like a lot of work at first but she gives copies of the overheads to everyone so min note taking.Very entertaining,do the work and it's an easy A.I would recommend all of her class's IF you can get in!She will answer ANY question you ask really really brilliant.
She is an amazing instructor! She gives copies of her slides to students and a bunch of other hand outs. The exams are somewhat difficult; just study the keywords and people of each chapter and you should be fine. As long as you do very well on the projects, papers, and homework you'll pass. I Passed the class with an A.
she is a really good teacher. Very informative. I had her for summer. You have a test every week. 2 article reviews,2 group projects final. A lot of homework and can get extra credit. If you do all work and projects and do ok on final you will pass the class
this was a very good class human sexuality. she was also a great teacher. i would suggest not buying the book because she makes slideshows of everything in the book, but she assigns hw out of the book so just go in the library she has it on reserve. very good i would deff take her again
Dr. Maloney is the best teacher that I have had ever. She knows her field inside and out. I seen the comment where she is not clear, or available. All you have to do is raise your hand if you are unclear and she will clarify, if you need her she will see you if you ask.Yes, she does powerpoint, but if this is your field read the book and learn!!
She is a very good teacher, always gives you the slides she is going to be lecturing on and gives you opportunity for extra credit. Attending class is a must, but as long as you do the work, 3 group projects, and quizzes/tests you will do fine.
Maloney is really funny and the class is pretty interesting. She had some trouble attending class meetings and there was a good amount of reading to be done, but it's a fun class to be a part of. I recommended it to anyone.
SHE IS AN AWESOME TEACHER, EASY GOING AND FUNNY. HIGHLIGHT EVERYTHING SHE TELL YOU TO HIGH LIGHT, AND KEEP ALL HANDOUTS. USUALLY TEST IS ON WHAT SHE ASKED YOU TO HIGH LIGHT. JUST DO ASSIGNMENTS AND STUDY HANDOUTS AND YOUR GOOD.
DR Maloney is the best teacher in the psych dept.I am almost ready to transfer to uop and have taken classes from most of the psych staff. She is BY FAR the most knowledgeable and professional. She is funny too make sure to read everything she tells you to highlight before the test and you will do fine.I got an A.I would highly recommend her.
I didn't enjoy this class. Maloney was constantly absent, super disorganized, and always changing dates. I felt like she tried to squeeze so much into the class that nothing really got taught. Very surface level. She is not very nice or helpful with questions. Pretty easy class, A LOT of busy work. Don't take this class if you dislike group work.
I learned a lot in Dr. Maloney's classes. She's very, very nice. I appreciate the way she attacks subjects and her animation while teaching. Her projects are easy and so are the papers. Tests aren't super easy but if you attend class and read, you'll do fine.
You must read your text book. She is great because she gives you lecture handouts if you attend class. Takes role every class. Gives opportunity for extra credit. You must study if you want a good grade. She is very knowledgable, clear and nice personality. She may seem a little intimidating but she is not. I recommend taking her for all psychology
She has a great personality and sense of humor, but she is no joke! You WILL learn if you are willing. She knows her stuff and although challenging, it is possible to earn A's in her classes. ATTENDANCE! Follow APA for papers! Study power point handouts! Learn and enjoy!
Dr. Maloney is a great teacher. She knows this subject in and out. She gives out lots of homework, but it is not hard, most of the answers are in the book. Test are off of the powerpoints.
I have taken 3 classes with maloney! I love her! She is super friendly and you can tell she loves her job. She is very knowledgable as well. She always has fun bits of information to keep you interested.
She doesn't know her own lectures, she takes powerpoints from online and reads the slides, but doesn't know what she's talking about. Everyone in the class feels the need to tell their lives stories. We never finish the lectures. She mumbles and laughs at herself. She makes you buy an expensive book just to use the online part.
Took her over the summer and it was a bit difficult cramming everything in, but she was a great teacher and I enjoyed her class.
this is my 4th psych class I have taken wiht Dr. Maloney. I really like her class and have learned alot from them. She is a very educated woman and has had lots of experience in the counseling field.
Dr Maloney is awesome. In the beginning I struggled with the massive amount of information she gives you. But once I became better adjusted in her teaching style the class was enjoyable and I learned alot. I got a hard earned C in the class, but that had nothing to do with her teaching. You have got to stay up on the reading, and take good notes.
This class was pretty easy and interesting. Dr.Maloney is a great professor despite what anyone says about her. She helps you a great amount and her work is easy if you just put in some time. The test are easy you just have to study the vocabulary in each chapter and know a few facts.
Dr.Maloney is a very good teaher her classes are well taught and concise I have not attended school in over thirty five years and managed to get B's in her classes while taking a full load here and at another college. Anyone who does not recieve a good or passing grade is more than likely someone who only came to class once a week or month.
Dr. Maloney was a very likeable teacher. Her class was very interesting. We did have to do a group research paper and group presentation. I think the group work was the reason I got a B instead of an A. The group presentations were really boring and dragged on for 2 weeks. Before each test she told us exactly what to study. Her class was easy
Dr. Maloney is an awesome professor. She goes over the material well but quickly. She zips through the lectures but don't hesitate to ask questions. Very helpful. Had to do a research paper and presentation. Wasn't too bad. Tests are difficult though, so be sure to study study study!!!
Dr. Maloney is a great teacher, very patience, and she cares about her students progress. Her speaking rate was some what rapid, but clear, and her affect was usually elevated. ;) Homework, and WileyPlus were moderately easy, but tests were hard, and studying was definitely required.
Dr.Maloney is a very good teaher her classes are well taught and concise. She does goes fast at times.I do have one complaint, she made us work in groups of 3-5. And eventhough 3 of us out of 4 did all the work and turn it on time,4th person never showed up or did anypart,we explain to her,she still marked down a grade
My favorite professor on campus and i have taken 6 of her classes and enjoyed them all. She is the reason why i am currently pursuing my AA in Psych all the way up th my PH.D. she does flow at a rapid pace at times but attend and pay attention then dig just a little bit more into the lecture through your text.. very good professor.
She just read from the book. Very dry and boring teacher.
she is a wonderful instructor with amazing knowledge i have several classes with her and she is the most clear yet fast paced instructor you have to earn your grade but she gives you the material needed to get there
Easy but hard you must do your work! You will pass by attending all classes and doing all the homework.
Everyone here says she's good. She's not. I took this class hoping for a fun time. It was horribly hard! Got a C. My first time with scantrons, so when I accidentally was about to take a test home, she threatened to have me expelled in front of the whole class and had me sobbing outside the classroom. Bad teacher. I'm normally an A and B student.
Dr. Maloney is a great Prof., She knows her material. Lectures a lot, tests completely from lectures.
Long Article Review Assignments, and a Web Enhanced Course, plus Homework handed out. I was an AP Student in High School, and I had a hard time juggling the Online and the in Class. Extremely tough grader. You better come in hard with facts and examples from the book or real life. You also better do well on tests and quizzes. Wouldn't take again.
She assigns a lot of assignments, and a few group projects, three to be exact. She gives regular tests and usually covers the material during class lecture. Usually the slides on the lecture change too quickly for me to copy everything down. There's just a lot of work involved.
Very easy class as long as you keep up with the Connect online portion. She gives out simple homework. Pay attention during lectures, TONS of extra credit opportunities. 3 group projects and 2 pretty simple papers as long as you follow the guidelines. This professor constantly cancels class, but gives plenty of help on tests. She wants you to pass.
Overall I found this class to be easy. However, expect a boatload of information and a ton of easy assignments. The test are about as difficult as you make them because Maloney gives you the information and if you study the handouts it should go smoothly. I hate group work, I should have got an A in this class but because of group work I got a B.
She is kind of disorganized. The material is a little self explanatory, but she is always willing to answer any questions you have. There is one group project, which includes a group paper & presentation. There's also an individual paper. She gives hw assignments every so often. I would probably prefer a diff professor, but she's the only one.
I took her over the summer and she was a good teacher. Shes willing to answer any of your questions and help you out. Honestly my recommendation for whoever takes her class is simply just read your book! That book is your best friend for this class it has everything the test and the online questions asks. Dont procrastinate either!
I took Professor Maloney's Psych 1A class and I really enjoyed it. She gives good lectures, and makes it fun. There is homework but it's easy. She also lets you know what's going to be on the tests. I got an easy A in this class, while also working full time. I recommend her if you're not lazy, but you don't have to be a bookworm either.
Terrible teacher, she's disorganized and scattered. Also gives a ton of group work/homework which is useless. I did well but only because I learned everything myself from the book.
Professor Maloney was awesome, when she was in class. She is a part of a lot at Delta and some days she wouldn't show up, and we'd get a sub (who was also awesome). She knows so much and could make the section we were discussing easy to understand. She was clear in her explanations and did what she could to make all the topics very interesting.
awesome professor, lots of homework, amazing lectures, fun assignments, one of the best professors i've ever taken.
I really enjoy Prof. Maloney as a teacher. Her teaching style makes you want to pay attention and learn. Homework is easy, and she goes over everything that is going to be on the tests. If you're unfamiliar with drugs then you will need to study more, but this class is easily passable. Check your email daily, because class gets cancelled often.
Maloney juggles a lot on her plate inside and outside of class. She currently teaches five classes and serves as the SJDC Teacher's Association President which likely fills her schedule up even more. This probably why she's absent so often. She also doesn't teach so much as read from PowerPoints in class. Disorganized, but Psych 1 is easy anyways.
Lectures were just powerpoints given by book publisher. Current text used contradicts itself & the tests contradicted the text. I had to message prof. several times to fix scores. Frustrating when wanting to learn! Weekly Discussions w/classmates helped most, 1 paper required. Professor only facilitated but didn't teach any course content.
Professor Maloney is easily my favorite professor. The class has a couple negatives like lectures are just her reading off of slides, but she makes things easy to understand. Class is also cancelled often. Positives are handout homework can often be completed in under 10 minutes, and she lets you know EXACTLY what will be on exams. You can tell she has a real passion for what she teaches and I would definitely take her again.
I highly recommend you to take this professor. She is a good teacher, she always tell us what to study for our different tests and exams. She also give some optional extra credit. I really enjoyed taking this class with her because she is an awesome teacher.
Don't take this class if you want to learn from her lectures because she just reads off the slides and explains things that doesn't really stick to your head. You do have to buy the online book where you do most of the work. If she didn't give what items to study then this class is a self-study focused.
Dr Maloney is well organized and cares a lot about her students. The work load is not bad but don't plan on getting an A for showing up. Of all the professors I have had at Delta Dr Maloney is the best.
Dr Maloney has a good sense of humor and will give you extra help if you need it. She gives chances for extra credit and grade updates all the time. She also gives copies of her power points to students. She is truly an expert in her field.
Dr. Maloney knows her material. You will pass by attending all the classes and doing all the homework. She does goes fast at times. Lots of chances for extra credit. I think she is one of the best profs at Delta. She does work to feed the homeless which is kind.
This is one of the best classes I've ever taken at Delta. Professor Maloney knows here field. Maloney will get you ready for a four year college if you do the work. If you are looking for an easy class take Millsop.
Great Professor. Very interesting class. Learned a lot.
It seems like she doesn't enjoy teaching. She reads information from a powerpoint she didn't make. Just make sure to do the McGraw Hill Connect things online. They are super easy and are a huge portion of your grade other than tests. Tests are fine, but she never clearly tells you what is going to be on the it, so you're not sure what to study.
I love her !! i really recommend this class. Shes very thorough and is one of the few teachers at delta who want you to pass.
Offers a lot of extra credit the whole semester(Too lazy to do any of them). We took around 5-6 exams during the semester, only the final exam was moderately difficult. She tells what exactly you need to study for each exam, so dont try to sleep-in too often(Like me). Had an A the entire semester until I got lazy on homework towards the end.
Dr Maloney is awesome and she cares about her students progress. You have to earn your grade but she gives you the material needed to get an A if you want it.
Not sure what the last person's rating was all about. I have taken several classes from Dr Maloney. I DID THE WORK, learned A LOT and got A's and B's. Some people have no business in college. Dr Maloney is the best instructor I have had at Delta. If you want an A but are to lazy to put in the effort do not take her class.
Hard-working professor and wants everyone to succeed. I enjoyed her class much more than expected. I am looking forward to taking more of Dr Maloney's classes. Lots of chances for extra credit!!
Maloney is a good professor. Class is not that hard. I did learn a lot more then I expected.
All time favorite teacher. Dr Maloney gets you ready for a 4 year college. She is very knowledgeable in her field. Take notes, read and you will pass.
Not to tough of a class. Maloney kinda makes me want to take another psych class. She really knows her field.
Best professor for psychology 001. She is very committed to her work, and will give many activities to learn even more. Maloney also uses Jupiter Grades so that you can always check your grades.
This class is an EASY A! You just need to know what the lectures are about and you will do great on the exams. Theres also online homework that is super easy, you cant not get full credit unless you dont even do it. She assigns zero essays. She doesnt make you fall asleep. Take her!
Professor Maloney shows up to class late nearly everyday, she clearly has no knowledge of psychology due to the fact that she reads off a powerpoint and barely looks up at the class. Looks like a teacher that should just give up teaching looks tired and grumpy everyday. Study guides to Tests are literally nothing like the tests.
Not an easy A, Test are nothing like the study guides or powerpoints. She reads off the boards. Barely answers questions. Often late. Very disorganized. Skips parts of chapter
Easy class if you do well on tests & online hw. She offers a study guide, but it's not all inclusive (which makes no sense to me) so I'd suggest trying not to miss class since she tells you what to highlight for the test during lectures (or try to make a friend). I feel like 70% of the reading doesn't get covered at all during lecture & tests.
Professor Maloney is not the best professor to take if you refuse to study the material. Some items on the tests may not have appeared in the lecture or the study guide that she gives. If you take her, I recommend that you consider reading the textbook. There are days where it seems she doesn't want to be lecturing, leading to some boring lectures.
Easy class. Make sure to study for the tests, do the online assignments, and homework and you'll pass no problem. She's just kinda dull and boring at 8am...
Had her at 8am.. Made me fall asleep because lectures were so boring. Overall gives good lectures if your awake and tells you what to expect on the test.. A lot of extra credit opportunity.. plus you have to do Connect homework and quizzes online..
Professor Maloney is very knowledgeable. She truly wants her students to succeed. she gives extra credit. if you fail to show up you will fail her class. I would've gotten an A but I missed important lecture classes.
Dr. Maloney is very knowledgeable and understanding. She is willing to work with you and answer all of your questions. She makes herself available to the students . It is mandatory to be in class and learned the subject matter. I know I was having problems at the beginning of the class, asked for help and ended the semester with a solid B.
Definitely a good professor, but I dont recommend this class for a summer course. 14 chapters in 6 weeks was tough, but taking this class in the fall would be easy!
I would say that this teacher is fair when it comes to grading. I would've gotten an 90% if I had only turned it 4 of my assignments. The reason for this is because I had taken her over the summer and I had 2 other classes to worry about as well. I did study for about a good 2 hours before a couple of my exams and I got around an 86% average.
Her class wasn't too hard. There is an online system that she uses for grading, and an online portion of the textbook. There is 1 online assignment and 1 quiz per chapter. Then there are worksheets for more specific topics. Notes are really helpful in this class, but the lectures are sometimes low energy. Just study and you will do fine. lots of EC
I learned a lot in Dr. Maloney's classe. Notes are really helpful, I liked the lectures. Grading is fair IF you do the work.
Although I received an A in this class, I do not recommend this class if you are trying to get an easy A. You have to put in effort to study and it is time consuming especially when you are taking multiple classes. Find an easier Psychology teacher that has much more energy. Her lectures are boring and she has no life.
lol so I DID not receive and A in her class because she didn't want to round my 89.8%. Ah if you want to stress and study your butt off for tests that are extremely hard, then go right ahead and join her class. Terrible class. Her lectures are boring. She's also always late. I would highly highly recommend you take LEE. I totally regret not droppin
In Dr. Maloney's class, there was a test almost every two weeks which would cover content that would never be discussed during lectures. She seemed irritated to answer students' questions, and appeared to be reading straight from the PowerPoint. Her passion for teaching does not show at all, and she was almost always late to class. Do not recommend
She is a good teacher and her lectures are very informational. If you want to pass her class then you HAVE TO attend her lectures. She does give extra credit and that was a huge plus. I got a B+ because she didn't round my 89.87 to an A. She does not give out study guides for the exams and when she tells you what will be on them, half of it isn't.
Dr. Maloney is excellent if you want to learn a lot. She will make herself available if you ask for help. Her exams are tough. She cares about her students.
her tests are super hard. the average grade for most tests were below a C and her lectures really don't help.
Maloney is a great teacher. I took her for summer 19 and although the session was super short, you can actually learn alot if you really did the work. Only 1 Textbook was used and the reading was basically about ethics and laws. Make sure to also do the discussion because it is worth a lot as well. Test was not hard at all. Gives u enough time.
Her lectures are pretty boring but as long as you pay attention, you'll do fine. All of her tests come straight from the lectures and the slideshows so buying the book was kinda a waste of money in my opinion (I did take this as a summer class though so I can only speak from my experience).
Maloney is great, her lectures are relatable and easy to understand. The work isnt hard, but I was in the summer corse so we had homework everyday. I didnt use the book at all and still got a C. I HIGHLY recommend printing out the PowerPoints and taking notes/highlighting on the printouts. Itll make studying for the final so much easier.
I took this class spring 2019 and I had to work my butt off on this one! Whenever I would try to ask questions, the professor responds in a way as to make me feel dumb asking the question. The plus side is that she offered extra credit for the final which boosted up my grade.
When writing a paper, she will mark you down for the most petty things. I lost 18 points to contractions in my paper, along with 2 missing commas. No psychology content was poor in quality, just the simple shortening of words. She answers your questions but has an attitude about her that screams, you're dumb, when she herself cannot say most words.
I agree with this person below when writing the papers docks you for small things such as contractions. To avoid being docked points on papers you must format your paper correctly and proofread multiple times. The tests are challenging just make sure to study and do not underestimate the exams. She was always late and a bit monotone but she was ok.
Class is mostly lecture. It is very important to not miss an assignment and to actually do well on Revel quizzes even if you have to use your notes. Also this class requires you to actually study before test. Test are not easy if you do not study. Do not slack in this class or you will fail.
Dr. Maloney is great, lectures are her reading off slides and for our class she gave us printouts. I was in a hybrid class, lecture in class everything else online. I read that some people think she grades papers unfairly, however the most she ever took off for me was 5-10 points, as long as you do the work, you'll be fine, and she actually listens
Dr. Maloney is a very kind professor who cares very much about her students. She is very understanding when it comes to assignments. I learned a lot from this class and I feel like it has prepared me a lot for my future career path. I would definitely recommend taking a class taught by Dr. Maloney and I am very thankful for all she taught me!
Dr Maloney is that teacher that just drones on and on. Im a psych major, and although being in her class was easy I actually wanted to learn something. Her class is one you take when you dont care about the subject. The assignments are easy, and if youre not there, you wont be missed, just pick up the assignments at her office later.
Dr. Maloney is wonderful. Her class consists of textbook reading, quizzes(multi choice, t/f), written assignments, discussion boards assignments, and exams. The connect/MHE platform we used was very organized and made class manageable. She gives great feedback, is lenient, and you will get a very easy A. Just read and complete the assignments.
Super easy class. The workload is not too bad. I highly reccomend.
For the exam there were 100 questions were not in the quizzes nor in the review of the PowerPoints , and the vocabulary that you print out for each chapter . My index cards and printout of each chapter did not helping with the exam .
Communicates well , test are hard and a lot of reading !
I'm taking this class during the pandemic, there's 5 exams, one paper, Psychological summary, the work is durable except that she does nock points if didn't follow all instructions for assignment. When asking questions she doesn't tend to be direct and makes you feel uncomfortable seeking help but she will help to clarified. Overall ok class.
The class itself is not too difficult. There is a quiz and online module due every week, with some weeks also having smaller multiple choice assignments and activities due. If you do the assigned work you should be able to pass. Professor Maloney gives good feedback and wants you to pass.
I took two classes with Professor Maloney during Summer 2020 (Psych 7, 13). Her classes were great, and she was a great character. I enjoyed learning from her even during the accelerated summer format. Her assignments were not too hard, and she grades fairly. I would recommend her class to anyone interested in Psychology.
Great professor always enjoyed the lectures. Read the material you will pass weekly assignments and quizzes. Midterm and final multiple choice, true and false, and some written questions.
I recommend taking Dr. Maloney for psychology 1. Every week, its just McGraw Hill homework with quizzes from McGraw Hill, too. Then, we have exams that covers chapters each week. I took her accelerated session class and overall, I would definitely take it again. If you need a psychology 1 teacher, I recommend Dr. Maloney.
Online summer class. Fast pace. 6-8 week class. 2-3 chapters a week. Canvas, textbook practice test/quiz, & worksheets. *Take your own notes- lectures & textbook outlines *Exams every week & times. Allows notes. Multiple choice. Repetitive from quiz/ practice test. Allowed late assignments. Take detailed and outlined notes to finish exams/quiz.
If you are looking for an online class that is well organized and interesting, this is it. 14 Connect hw, 4 exams, 1 final, a movie paper, 2 discussions, 1 psych topic summary (I did a power point, took me about 30 min). She answers emails immediately and cancelled a hw bc students had troubles accessing it. Look no further, you'll love this class!
Very kind professor. The topics in class were interesting to learn about. Many of the assignments are on CONNECT and there were only a few papers to do.
Class was accelerated, therefore things were very fast-paced. Online quizzes would be due weekly and each week had about 1-3 chapters per week, which was easy to keep up with because she goes over them during class. It can be overwhelming but if it was a full term class, it would be easier to navigate.
Took this class during summer, which means it was a compressed class. Just get work done early and make the time to turn things in. If you get behind on the readings, it'll be tough to catch up, but it is still possible.
Make sure to get things done on time. The textbook readings are short if you split them up per day, just make sure to get them in on time to ensure that your workload stays light.
She is a great professor. I wish I could take all my classes with her, very knowledgable.
Engaging lectures and manageable workload. Leveraging Unstuck ai and the textbook helped me stay on top of the material. Definitely recommend this class!
Professor Malonely is great. I like that she gives good examples with class participation. She also gives you great examples if you don't understand. She's bubbly and easy to approach.
