She gives a lot of work. But if you do the work, you will have no problem passing the class. And you learn quite a bit in the process.

This teacher is not an easy teacher, but she is very motivating in lectures because she maintains the class's attention and is helpful in explaining examples. As long as you do the homework and pay attention you are fine.

Dont be scared away from her class by the other ratings. She is very helpful. Everything is on blackboard including practice quizes. She even made a jeopardy accounting game for us. I think for someone who hates accouting like me can get an A..u can

Her teaching style is very clear. She gets incredibly angry if you are late to class or leave early.

She will kick your ass, but she knows her stuff. Stick with it, do the homework, and just keep up! Tests are okay- don't try pulling an all nighter. See her for help- she seems like a **** in class, but outside, she really is helpful

I had her for Strobel. And I agree that she wasn't easy, but I did learn a lot in her class. I did not take accounting in high school so I did a lot of reading for her class and it paid off.

She's okay. Her exams are not really anything from what she teaches you. I'd say make sure you do all the homework when you have her because that's the only way you'll survive. Also, she assigns alotta homework. B

She's pretty tough, but she's really nice. Uses Balckboard a lot. If you really do your work and read then you'll do fine. I got myself in trouble b/c I missed a lot of classes.

She is very nice. She appreciates students who come to class and do their work. If you like acc and waht to learn take her but if you want an easy class, I would NOT suggest it. Her tests and quizes are hard!!!

I didn't think she was as hard as others did but I had prior accounting experience. It was a lot of work though. And she expected you to do a ton outside of class.

You will do fine in this class if you keep up with the reading and do your work on time. She curves the midterm and final and believe me when I say this comes in handy. She is tough but a very good professor if you really want to learn the subject. I recommend her.

I think that she was a hard teacher and that you'd need to work a lot for her class; getting an A is not impossible however. I think it involves a lot of memorization too.

She is a great teacher, knows her stuff well. Is a little challenging but that only motivated me more to do better. Just read the chapters and take her practice online quizzes and you should do fine. She presents the materials in a clear and comprehensible way. This class is really not that hard!

She is very challenging, but knows accounting well. If you ask questions, she will help you. She is very fair and offers "free" quiz grades for random things.

She comes off as intimidating, but is really a nice lady. Extremely helpful in and out of class, you really do have to attend class every day though, and print out her handouts.Material's hard, but listening and following along w/the handouts made things fine. Average effort, free quizes, I got an A

If you pay attention and do the homework, you'll do fine in class. She trys to help her students, goes over hw assignments, and reviews well for tests. Very nice lady. Stop being so lazy...

Not as bad as everyone makes her out to be. The office visit reports required such little effort outside of class. I was a mid-C student and now I'm suddenly pulling a 91 because of the office visit reports.

she isn't that bad. she gives 7 perfect quiz scores for BS assignments like learning to use digital dropbox. she doesn't collect HW, but you should do it. she gives you occasional quizzes and a medium hard midterm/final. if you put like 1 hour of hw into the class a week you will get a good grade. everyone who failed did absolutley nothing and cut.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT PERSON WAS SAYING BY SHE DOESN'T COLLECT HOMEWORK! SHE IS SO FRICKING HARD! I FELT LIKE I WAS IN A GRADUATE LEVEL CLASS. MIDTERM AND FINAL ARE SO HARD. OUR CLASS' FINAL AVERAGE WAS A 69%. SO HARD, DON'T TAKE HER!!!

if you dont plan to major in acc dont take her for 101. she is ridiculously clear on what she wants. She is extremely fair and probably the best acc teacher if you actually want to learn the material. Consolidation and gov is hard stuff but good for the CPA. She curved our midterm 15% pts. Shes fair, thats all you can ask for.

A very good prof to have for an intro level course. The subject is a little dry, but she trys desperately to help whoever is not doing well and not understanding. A little more motivation by the students would probably help her cause. Not that hard.

Her class is really hard, but if you take her for 101, Acc 102 will seem like a breeze.

Class is pretty easy just make sure you know how to do the homework problems on your own. Two tests are pretty easy if you study.

No curve for Strobel. If you really study and keep up w/the projects you'll be fine but if you study just the weekend before you'll fail the midterm.

Tough class. Tough instructor. Not sympathetic but does explain things well. I worked harder in this class than any other in the MSA program. Keep up on the big consolidation projects. The book is useless except for the multiple choice problems. All this stuff rears it?s head again on the CPA so just get through it.

Very nice teacher. I took ACC-101 during the 5 week summer session. Tough, tough course for me. Don't take this class thinking you will get an easy A, because you won't. I worked super hard and still was dissapointed with my grades Oh well, I tried hard. Other students were getting A's. Take her class during regular quarter!

This is by far probablyctge best professor for ACC 308 at DePaul. The material is hard and she does a good job explaining the material. If you keep up with the lectures in class and put forth time studying you will do good. If people are looking to slack off then this class isn't for you. Her tests are extremely hard and you can't study for them the night before the mid-term. Just do as she says and you will be good. Overall, nice professor and has very good teaching skills.

Had her over the summer. Really straightforward class. Either you take the time to learn it or you don't. Her tests weren't bad at all, as long as you did the online hw and went to class.

Big misconception: THE MATERIAL IS HARD, NOT THE PROFESSOR. This class is NOT for slackers and those who like to "just get by". You will have to work for your grade but it will be a rewarding experiance. I was working full time & took her for the summer session and still pulled off an A-. Great professor who likes to prepare you for the CPA.

Everyone saying Dr. Murphy is a bad teacher needs to get a clue. This class' material is incredibly difficult. Dr. Murphy tries to make the material as intuitive as possible, and is an outstanding teacher. Follow her outlines and process charts she uses extensively in class, they are essentially what the tests are made up from. Great teacher!

The tests and materials were very hard, however if you put in enough study time, you should be fine. Teacher genuinely wants you to do well.

The material is difficult but she has her own way of teaching it and makes it achievable. Lots of HW and a tough midterm and final. The HW is very helpful for the exams. Take this class when you have the time to dedicate and you will do fine.

Professor Murphy is an excellent professor! It is a VERY hard class but of you are genuinely interested in learning the subject then this is the class for you. The tests are difficult but she prepares you really well for the exam.

She's really good at teaching. However, she seems rude sometimes. She gives a lot of homework but, it helps in exams. You will get an A if you work hard.

"It's a beautiful thing!" Either Prof. Murph really stepped her game up or there are a bunch of whiners on here. The class itself is without a doubt challenging, but Prof. Murph sets you up to win. The homework load is a bit large, but it makes the exams cake. Prof. Murph provides you will a million avenues to succeed.

Honestly, I think Dr. Murphy is great. Yes, this is a very difficult class but if you actually read the chapters like your suppose to - you will do fine. She recommends reading the highlighted version but I think you need to read everything. Do the study material. Tests are hard but you are preparing for cpa. Painful lectures if nobody participates

Alright - if you are an undergrad (or grad) student looking for an easy A, you're in the wrong class. If you're an undergrad or grad student who is INTERESTED IN LEARNING THE MATERIAL (FOR THE CPA OR NOT) - you will be fine. It's hard, but definitely do-able.

Great professor. I was already familiar with her style having taken her CPA workshop. Very knowledgeable and cares about the students. I found the class to be difficult- content wise- but prof was more than willing to help during office hours. Pay attention during review sesh for midterm and final!
