Always willing to help, very funny, takes your opinions into consideration. as long as you pay attention you will pass and have fun in the class. one of the best classes i have ever taken. must like to read...she was very very cool and always made the days dun. i showed up even when i was sick!

has great class discussions. i enjoyed going to class so much i'm taking her english 275 course next semester. the only thing you should know is that you research and write a lot, i't not difficult to do, it just takes a little time is all. But she is really there to help if you need it

I enjoyed her class very much. She is a fun and inspired professor. I would definitely take a class of hers again.

fun professor, gives out a lot of work but usually can easily be finished. usually really good in getting involved with the class, responds to questions easily. the bad part, she won't be a professor at UWEC anymore and i was looking forward to taking more of her classes.

She's fricken awesome! I hate reading, but love her lit class. The amount of homework is totally reasonable and the class is really interesting. Take class with her!!!!!!!!!

I liked Preston a lot - good prof, nice person, fairly easy class. I'd take her again if she were still around.

If you want to really learn, take Preston! She's amazing, and she's there to help if you need it. The workload is pretty hefty, but if you stay on top of it you will be fine. Class is super fun and goes by fast! I'd definitely take another class with her.

She teaches her class not as a lecture, but as a discussion. True she has no real plans for the day, but I think that makes us want to learn more. We only learn what we want to learn. Quizzes are every day but just read the book, and tests just don't exist. Only two papers, and a skit. I completely recommend her.

i'm not much of an english person, but i really enjoyed the class. the discussions are great and really help you think of things you normally wouldn't.

Preston-Simon is a great teacher. I would recommend her to anyone who really wants to learn a lot about composition. She holds great discussion and is very clear about what determines your grade. She isn't easy but I loved the class. If you ever get tme to talk to her I highly suggest it she's a great person

PS is a great teacher! She really makes you think outside the box when analyzing poems and short stories. I strongly believe that anyone should take this class with her.. you will definitely think and have A LOT of fun!!!

Great Teacher, Great class, Good times in it. Didn't want to take it at first because of the ammount of poetry, but had a great time in it. PS Is a wonderful teacher.

She is a great teacher, although my grade didn't reflect it much (out due to an illness) I learned more in this class than any other this semester. She treats everyone fairly and like an adult. Contribute to discussions, read the books, and do the papers/tests well and you will do fine. She's my second favorite prof at EC.

An awesome professor, but she expects quite a bit of thought to go into each little activity. You work a lot, but you learn a Hell of a lot. High recommended if you want to learn something!

PS is an awesome lady and I would recommend her to anyone if they want to have fun in class. The work is set at a high standard, but if you spend time on it then you will do fine in her class.

This class was extremely easy if you read the books (which are also easy to read). She's hilarious and doesn't pick favorites--decent grader and final wasn't too bad.

Preston held my attention all through each class and through the entire semester. We read books that helped us not only to learn class material but they informed us about the real world. I would absoultely reccomend this professor to anyone and especially those who hate english and have no idea how to write papers

I really enjoyed this english class. I learned a lot on how to write papers well. Overall she was a great professor and I recommend her for anyone who wants to learn how to write a good college paper.

For a two hour class she made it easier. She is so funny and very nice. Very understandable and her assignments are not hard. Great professor

This professor is damn near impossible to impress. She expects way to much time and effort to be put into her homework, if she hasn't noticed most of us have a job and three or four other classes on top of hers, I am not willing to spend all night on her homework especially when most of it doesn't relate to english AT ALL.

I just got online to say how much (unexpcted) fun I'm having and I couldn't believe what the last person said! We have to read most weeks like 15 pages, maybe write two for homework! And she lets us write our longer papers at our own rate and gives great feedback. Decent class, great prof!

Class is totally easy. Go to work, do daily stuff, and make sure you write two short papers like you care. Lib. Assig took less than four hours and she gives you a week. She hives you class time to work on longer papers. She's pretty relaxed, too. I'm repeating and this is way easier.

very amusing prof. In the beginning I felt it'd be an easy class, hmwrk has gotten harder & expectations greater. This is expected but sometimes her expectations r very high. She collects assignments @ random so sometimes u work on them for hours @ night & dont end up handing anything in (very frustrating) Challenging course but prepares u well

She is really nice and approachable. She was funny and knows how to make you laugh. She is surprisingly chipper at eight in the morning and really made our class want to learn. There are two mandatory papers and a third that is optional. Be prepared for some papers that she doesnt collect, but she collects randomly and you learn to accept that!

PS is awesome. i hate english and i didn't mind her class at all, in fact liked going. if you have to take comp and hate english take PS you won't regret it

Sets class up so regular dialy work helps with doing bigger papers. Only in week 5, but everything relates. what she does during class helps homeowrk helps papers. seems to care about 110, as people as writers, and knows how parts relate to whole. already, i'm alot better wrighter.

Read the comment below mine and then forget it. 10-20 pg readings/wk, maybe 1 pg light writing/wk. Easy C or B--all you need to do is one 4-6pg paper. Me and 3 others are all getting As, and had fun. Write better too.

English is second language for me. Still I am able to finish big paper for a B in class early in semester and do small readings and writing all those weeks. I see many English students trying not so very hard for a good class and Professor.

LOVE this prof, she's direct and fair and you're able to get a square B (I got an B+) w/o 2 much wrk. Best part is I write much better! Take her and learn

She will make you earn your grade. How hard you work will reflect your grade. There are EC opportunities. She gives out alot of work and doesnt clearly state due dates or recomended dates to stay on task with the class. She is a fun person and you will have fun and feel comfortable in her class.

Avoid ENGL 110 with her. I pretty well convinced it's way too much for a freshman to handle. Instead of "Intro to College Writing" a more appropriate title for the class could be "Intro to how hard a professor can make college for you." Granted, it's a five credit course, but the expectations are very tough, and the deadlines equally difficult.

I went into this class thinking that this teacher was going to be easy to connect with and fun to have. BOY WAS I WRONG. About half way through the semester i started seeing she had an agenda and that was to degrade everything that this country stands for: education, economy, government, even her own life. She is a pesimist and a bad influence

The homework is really easy and the teacher being fun is good. No difficult papers either. But it's stupid how she wont' let us just accept the world as it is. Why should an english class try to change our ways of thinking about the world?

She is an alright professor. She is a difficult grader. She gives on assignments 3 grades check minus, check, check plus which represents 1,2,3 points out of three. So if you get a couple checks your already at 66 percent. you will do a lot of writing with your "best paragraph skills"

Easy, fun. You only gotta do 2 papers and get a bunch of checks to get a B. (a check is a B- not a 66% like the other person said). Only one writing homework a week, and is real short. Most my friends had to write 3-4 papers so this is easy section.

Funny and wicked smart prof with interesting readings that really make you think. BUT the writing is overkill--EVERY WEEK there's a writing workshop for main papers. EVERY WEEK we have to work on writing skills like paragraphs and sentences. AND there are Three HUGE papers and weekly writing assignments. Only tkae if you like writing.

If you want to live in hell take this class. She has no idea what she is talking about and we don't learn a thing. Wastes time dancing and going on walking. Only good thing is optional attendance which I took advantege off.

Im not so sure its how she teaches but rather how the class is structured. I DID like the fact that I didn't have to write 5 papers like other 110 classes but there is alot of red tape in order to turn in your papers. You must go through peer review on certain days, make corrections, submit the paper to her, and you might get it back if its "bad"

PS is extremely intelligent, she definitely knows what she's talking about. She genuinely cares about the students, and has a good heart. She is a tough grader. (as to be expected in COLLEGE)2 main papers and 2-4 journals a week. Tough class, but she is a good teacher. Good class conversations. Expect a lot of work, but a really good class.

Had PS for FYE & although it was a lot of work I have definitely improved my writing skills unlike other Engl 110 profs who let you get away w/ nothing. I was 1 to complete the sequence 3 which enabled me 2 get an A but it was def. worth the effort. PS is not doing sequences anymore so dont fear--& the "check" grading system ISNT confusing people!

I just got a solid, best paper I ever wrote in my life, and class was a blast! She's a bit eccentric and brings in lots of different viewpoints and great discussions.

I went to this class b/c a friend said it'd be challenging and I'd learn. I'm only here two semester, but PS is way smarter and funner than any other I've had. Great class discussions for first 10 weeks; then, she turns to final paper and makes sure as many as can will pass. Fair, fun, and really cares about us. I got an A, and I give her an A.

Wow! Take PS if you can! I went all classes, every day, always did my work and she was always ready for us and funny too. My research paper was way off topic but she let me run with it and I got to add music to boot. Hilarious, makes you think, not like most profs (no ego in her ass)--take this course unless your lazy!

Hey PS! What UP?? Thanks for the B. You the only prof who I could miss two weeks and get a B. (Me bein smart helps) Really tho you made me think about how Gitmo is so like bad places in history. Plus you made me learn to think about writing--kinda sucked, but it'll help later

I am the first to admit I didn't like this prof right off the bat, I could tell she was liberal. I love her now tho. Liberal is not bad, just thinking. She loves Jesus and still has us think about our beliefs. She loves English and makes us think about how we right--alliteration and paragraphs and all. A great teacher for open minded

About the easiest C ever. Show up most days, do half the readings, know how to write well (her criteria are always posted) and you'll be fine. No need to waste time with anyone else. She rocks for the interesting C!

I love PS with my whole heart. She was definitely the most memorable professor I've had so far, and I don't think I'll ever forget anything I learned in her class! I would say take her just for the experience - she's hilarious too!

PS is what a professor should be. She challenged the class and made us think in a different way. She's a little bit intimidating especially at the beginning, and she assigns a TON of homework, but I still count it as a really great experience. The material really related to my life too. I'm a bad writer but you'll do fine as long as you work hard.

This is a 5-credit class, which is SUPPOSE to be demanding of your time. Yes, there is homework everyday, but if you actually read the sections and do the journals, then you should be learning how to write the papers for this course and pass with a good grade. It's sad how everyone's complaining about her when she assigns everything for a reason!

Summer Online A Blast! It *is* hard to do a novel class in 8 weeks; yet Preston pulls it off. Esp the last two weeks where group work moves into individual project. Perfect timing! You will have to do all the readings, but quizzes are fair and honest to God, the discussions in this class better than any face-to-face class Ive ever taken. Take it!

Just turned in research paper and loved how she gave us so much time and no other readings except for our research for four weeks. She even juggled her sched to be able to meet with me! I am not the best writer in the world but I improved a LOT and I saw most my class who came to class did too. Great use of D2L and F2F work for top results! Kudos!

We just turned in our essays; I know this is the best paper I've ever written, and writing is not my best suit. Homework easy (I spent less than 5hrs/wk on hmwrk), and DrP does good at building strong rel't among us student. While annoyed in Unit2 by group who didn't help much, it became really fair in Unit 3:) Do the work, easy to get B or Better!

Dr. Preston is a difficult teacher but you can pass her class. She scares you by saying that you will not pass the class if you get a C- or lower but you are able to revise your paper in order to pass so it's not as hard as it seems. She can be a fun teacher but you have to come to class prepared. Honestly, she's not that bad.

Class was very difficult, but for good reason. She actually made us THINK. Excellent professor if you're up for a challenge.

I took her Winterim Digital Storytelling class, and it was amazing. Preston is very helpful, and while she didn't know all of the technology we used, she learned right along with the rest of the class. She is easy to get along with, and tries to get to know her students. Good prof.

Pretty darn easy. Most my friends wrote 3-4 papers with the last being 10 pages. I wrote one with a group and one alone (5 pages). Come to class, do the hour or two of homework each day, easy B. And she's funny.

Whoever wrote that she was rude on the first day of class is full of S* She had students in front teaching/showing the first day! Take her for an easy B (which u'll get unless you f-off). I just came on to say what a great online class this has been. I was real scared at the beginning but everything was clear from then until now. We are about to end,I worked hard but I will get an A and I cant believe I actually liked the poetry the best!

I took Preston online to get started with college. I took two courses with her as a freshman, intro to lit and comp. Both well organized, no surprises, you do need to do the work by deadline but she is really fair!!!! Highly recommend. Easy B,though I think I will pull off an A by the end of comp

When I took composition with PS as a freshman it was f2f and though it was hard I got better at writing. I took her blended intro to lit class and liked that a lot, now i'm in her 275 online class and really I don't have to do anything but read novels take quizzes and post discussions on occasion--ha ha i'm getting an easy B now!

She was a good teacher, was usually available on email or Skype to ask questions. All tools to pass class are given. Make sure to turn in all assignments on time. Easy to pass.

I took English 150 online with professor Preston and really enjoyed the class. She makes Skype available if you have questions and is a relatively easy grader as long as you put forth a reasonable amount go effort. There is a lot of group work, however, you are assessed typically on an individual basis. There's a lot of work, but you can work ahead
