Poor excuse for an english teacher! Do NOT take her!
No grasp of what a Reasearch paper should be.
Don't answer a question unless you want to cry!

Gets very offensive when you dont agree with something she says.
God forbid that you ever have the devil for your english teacher...therefore, do NOT take Dr. Rambo!!! I despised this woman. She wasn't prepared for class and took two months to grade our one-page papers. Avoid at all costs!!!!!
So I'm actually one that Like her moreso than others. She always gave me an A and i didn't always agree with her. As long as your polite and don't fall asleep, your fine. There is no homework and no quizzes...4 papers throughout the semester. That's it
I loved to go to class and just watcht the carnage that unfolded. she made someone cry EVERY DAY. She is such a smart ass that it is like a comedy show.

She is a wierd person. I don't think that I could sit through another semester of her. The class itself is not really that bad. She will give you a much better grade on papers if you have her read it first.

Her classes are relatively easy. If your respectful and trying and A, isn't that hard to obtain. She tries really hard for the students to like her, yet students take it the wrong way. Not everyone was born so popular; therefore give her a break.

Overall, an exceptionally difficult course. Tests are difficult. Quizes are suprise and answers are based on subjective interpretations of the reading. Dr. Rambo tends to springboard from literature into leftist political rants. Prefer Tate or Davy.
Dr. Rambo is not the anti-christ. She is just a professor who-SHOCK!-expects college level work from her students. If you follow her guidelines and pay attention then success is not impossible to attain. Always willing to help students with assigns.

Dr. Rambo is one of the funniest professors I've ever had...she is great but strongly misunderstood...my suggestion is to expand your brain a little and try to understand her humor because she has alot to offer in a class
she was very boring and didnt try to explain what she was supposed to be teaching and she would make fun of different people in the class or try to make them feel stupid.
I just finished summer session II with her, and she's a great teacher. She is very good and knows her stuff. Don't think this is an easy course, its far from easy, it just takes a lot of hard work. An "A" don't count on it, a B possible. Good
If you want a professor that knows how to laugh and have fun in the classroom, Dr. Rambo is perfect! She is also willing to help you with any assignment and the tests and papers are not too hard. She is great!
Overall, a nice lady who shows no interest in the course material. Why she teaches this class, I don't know, cause she knows nothing about it. The class is easy, but don't expect to learn much.
DR RAMBO ISN'T TOUGH IF YOU APPLY A LITTLE EFFORT TO HER COURSEWORK OR IF YOU ARE WILLING TO TAKE TIME OUT OF YOUR DAY TO DROP BY HER OFFICE AND ASK HER ABOUT THE UPCOMING ASSIGNMENT.
She expects a lot, but she really knows what she's talking about. I really like her style. Just ask her about Chaucer!
The course should have been named "Literature as viewed from the Left". .
she is an easy teacher. just act like you enjoy buffy the vampire slayer and write our papers from a feminist view and you should do fine.
By far the WORST professor I've had in my four years at Campbell. She assigned us large amounts of reading and required discussion questions to be turned in each class period, but rarely had read the text herself. Her final was ridiculously hard considering that she taught us nothing all semester!
Interesting and different approach to stuck up CU teaching...strays from what makes you comfortable and speaks on a students level.
she demands too much from her students not realizing that they have other classes besides hers.
class can be fun IF you can get her talking. if you don't read the material and have something to say, you might die of boredom. she is NOT afraid of silence in the class room. she will be as prepared as she feels the students will require of her. i think she only teaches because she needs $. really NICE person outside of class however.
She definitely knows her British Literature, she is well knowledgeable on the subject and the stories are interesting for the most part, she helps analyze the stories well and relate them to now a days. Just write down what she says in class in discussion and study that. She grades very fairly on Research Paper, just follow guidelines!
She seems to enjoy the material and will listen to students' ideas. Really expects you to be prepared for class, though. If you ask for help, she's there, but you really have to do the reading. Brings in interesting lecture material.
I didnt have any problems with her. She is strict and she expects to get what she asks for but you will definately learn something when you come out. She is also helpful if you have questions.
It was better than I expected, and I liked Dr. Rambo well enough than I signed up to take ENG 102 from her next semester.
Rambo isnt as bad as everybody makes her out to be. I think she went a little easy on her 101 classes, but over all she did a good job of teaching. Papers topics are generally up to you and if you know what you are writing about then you should do well.
Rambo made Brit lit more interesting than I thought it would be. She expects you to do the reading--and there's a lot of it--but she'll answer your questions and listen too your ideas. Easy to talk to, if you take the time.
Dr. Rambo is a pleasant person in general. She expects what she and her syllabus says she does and is quite straightforward. She is ready to help if you ask for it. Dr. Rambo might have a bit too much tolerance for people who act like they're still in high school, however. Do the homework and follow the syllabus, and you should be fine.
Excellent person. straight and to the point. follow her rules and dont mess up you are destined to make at least a B. Only down side is she loves Blackboard but it keeps the students busy
Discussion board. Class participation. Discussion board. Class participation. That's pretty much all this class is. She loves people who participate in class...no matter what you say. She works her grading so that class participation is a huge part of your final grade. She is VERY scattered as she teaches.Hard to follow, but take notes.Easy tests
She gives clear instructions, and accepts a wide variety of essay topics. If you want an easy class, but one that also makes you think, I recommend her.
Doesn't comprehend her own material and a pain to work with in terms of papers.
Only class that fit my schedule, but Rambo made the stuff interesting. Big on class discuss, so read up.
Dr. Rambo relies heavily on blackboard communication for assignments and course materials. If you check BB daily and follow her syllabus (also on BB), participate in class, and put effort in your papers. You will do fine. Some people "forget" to check BB and lose points, but just be responsible! She is a great teacher with a vast area of interests.
Aye, Rambo, when I gonna get my paper back. Its been 3 years. Why you take so long reading those papers. Don't expect mercy, she is merciless, mainly because she rather not take extra time to help you.
dr. rambo was great, you get the grade that you deserve. do the homework and the blackboard discussions. if you need help w/ a paper see her BEFORE it's due! otherwise there isn't much she can do for you.
I rly learnd to appreciate Chaucer in this class.
She is boring and unenthusiastic. She has no connection with her students or her subject. The only thing that's more painful than her class is when she chooses to read aloud in old english.
If you can help is, do not get Rambo as a professor. She is not only not a nice professor, she is extremely contradictory of herself in class. She also is not always willing to help or answer questions. If we had questions in class, she would get upset and act like we weren't paying attention or didn't giver her time to go over the information.
Her class is boring. She can't connect with her students. Run!
I enjoyed being in Dr. Rambo's English 202 class. She has high expectations for her students, but if you meet them, you will do fine. Be sure to read all assignments and syllabus carefully as she expects you to follow her precise instructions. Follows strict attendance policy, no exceptions. Tests are hard, but doable - make sure you read!!
Loved this class. Rambo is tough but fair.
seriously, dont take her, she really thinks that she is the best thing in the world
The seven page paper was a little stressful, but she was very helpful when I went to her office for help on it. She does ramble, but she knows what she's talking about. It's not exactly easy to cover a thousand years of literature in only so many fifty-minute class periods.
Dr Rmabo is the WORST teacher i have ever had. She is rude and thinks she knows everything. Her sense of humor is terrible and she teaches the class nothing. she also shows favorites, and your grade will be affected by it. And on Blackboard discusions she gives you whatever grade she desires, even if you fulfill all of her requirements!
She's not a good teacher, but she has a nice chickstache.
Dr. Rambo is a great teacher that knows her stuff!
I HATED this class! If Rambo doesn't hate everyone she's very good at acting like it. She expects you to complete ridiculous amounts of work for a general education class. She is also extremely boring and includes information that isn't necessary. DON'T TAKE HER!!!
liked her class ok
Dr. Rambo is very rude and unhelpful. Her Comp classes are a lot easier than her Lit classes and her expectations are almost impossible. If you can help not taking her for Lit classes I suggest you steer clear.
She's very smart, but has trouble teaching the material. Plus, she just doesn't like students.
Dr. Rambo is a great & very knowledgeable teacher.
Dr. Rambo is very boring in class, but if you go to her office hours to have her look over your papers she is very intelligent and nice.
Avoid at all cost. I used to love Literature courses but she has definitely caused me to develop a hate for Literature.
The class overall was not that difficult and she is not a harsh grader. But those are about the only good things about Rambo. The class is boring, she is boring, and she is not the most helpful individual. I'd advise looking for a different teacher.
Do not take her class if at all possible. I'm an English Major and I love school, but I hated this class. Dreaded it. She doesn't actually teach anything. She just reads out of the book and tells you things you already learned doing the homework she assigns for each class. Boring! Papers aren't hard, but if you don't write what she wants, BEWARE.
Overall ratber aloof with a very strange sense of humor that tends to turn political. Not very helpful even during stated office hours and requires far too much from her gen ed classes.
I came into this class scared because I had heard bad things but Dr. Rambo turned out to be pretty fair and I learned a lot. Follow her assignment instructions to a T, do the reading, and come to class and you'll do fine. She's not a hard grader and she was very nice/helpful when I went to her office hours. I would take again.
Took this class over the summer and it turned out to be a great class. Rambo does well when working with a small class. Reading is required. I read 2/3 of the required reading and made an A.
Dr. Rambo is my advisor and she is the best. She likes student who speak up in class so that she knows you've done the reading. She gives clear instructions and if you follow them perfectly, it is easy t make an A. You must do the reading and the homework to do well.
Had a difficult time. Daily readings with 3-5 ? quizzes everyday! Have to write 3 papers. Kind of awkward in class and doesn't lecture its more of a discussion she expects the class to lead. Many people in my class had a hard time with her and the class.
She is not a push over but is willing to help in any way possible. By far my favorite English teacher at CU.
When students ask her questions she says "Look in the syllabus." She doesn't really teach nor is helpful when the students need answers to their questions or when they need help. Classes become very awkward at times because she does not lecture, it's mostly discussions.
Class is mainly discussion, so make sure to read whatever she assigns. Papers are easy if you follow the guidelines. She is willing to help if you ask and visit her during office hours. Sometimes boring during lecture, but it's an easy A if you do everything.
Terrible teacher. Doesn't understand the subject matter. Hates her students. If you skip class you will have a hard time getting on her good side. Does not like opinions that differ from her own. DO NOT try to be original and have ample sources and have sources from the text or else your sol.
I loved this class and thought Dr. Rambo welcomed all points of view, encouraged student participation. One of the best I've taken at Campbell. When I took a draft of my paper to her, she gave helpful suggestions.
She is a terrible teacher. She is very mono toned. She does not clarify what is on her exams, not to mention they are extremely difficult.
I am a 3.5+ GPA rising Junior and I would not recommend her class. I completed many extra credit and optional assignments in order to come out with a solid grade, I worked my butt off and in the end she gave me a lower grade. If you are looking to learn nothing more than you did in high school and work hard only to come up short, take Rambo.
I had Dr. Rambo for British Lit I and World Lit I. Be prepared to read - it is literature, you know? - and discuss what you read in class. Occasional quizzes if no one read. Three papers per class, which were mostly open ended. Pick a story and write. I found the content interesting. Nice lady. Loves cats and Buffy the Vampire Slayer too!
Awfull. She doesn't care about students and will purposely make it hard on you. Unless you are very confident in English, I would not recommend taking this class as you run the risk of letting Dr. Rambo ruin your GPA. I strongly urge anyone in her class to drop immediately and take another professor if possible.
Do not take her if you have the option to. Grades harshly. I worked my tail off in her class to get an A. She doesn't give clear gradin criteria, and will take an unreasonable amount of points off for a small mistake. Worst professor I've had at Campbell.
Engage in class, it's not hard all you do is sit around and share your opinions and then write some papers about them. You should take your papers to the writing center and to her office hours and if you take their advice you'll get good grades. She hates cell phones in the class so just pay attention and forget about your phone.
I am a biology major and got As in all of my hard science classes the semester I took this class and got a C in English. I had previously gotten As in both of my English classes taken before Dr. Rambo's class. Her class is boring and she is an awful grader. DO NOT TAKE. SHE IS AWFUL.
Overall this class wasn't difficult and I wasn't overloaded with work. A lot of the homework assignments are similar to busy work. We wrote three papers, all based on the textbook. She does grade somewhat harshly if you don't follow her instructions and don't use mla format correctly. She's a nice lady and is willing to help you if you need it.
Easily the worst professor at Campbell.
Rambo knows her subject and tells you exactly what she wants from assignments and where to find resources. If you ask for help, she is ready to give it. If you don't ask, what happens, happens. Read the book & be ready to speak up in class. She wants to know what you think.
Awful professor, Please take this class with another professor if you can. She never graded anything on time, but expected us to know how to complete the final paper correctly. Class was very boring, you have no test you have papers and other assignments.
Grades participation on just about every class. She tells you in one class when everything is due and you have to remember and turn things in. She takes the syllabus very seriously. I read the bad reviews on here and thought how bad could it possibly be..: it was that bad. Good luck if you decide to take her.. you will regret it about 3 classes in.
Odd for sure. She teaches obscure material and it shows up in her personality. She's a professional but not somebody that is gonna make your experience special.
