Prof. Swithenbank was an easy unless you didn't do your work. If assignments were late she would take points but let you turn the work in. With that said- as soon as you use up your "get out of jail free cards" she sticks to her guns and won't allow you to make up work. She is an excellent instructor with real world experience. Good class.

Awesome teacher. Great lectures you must read the book for the quizes. Don't slack on the reading but an all around enjoyable class. Lecture brings in experience quizes are based on book material. As long as you do the work you will get an A. I recommend attendance. If you don't do your work you won't pass, but she is fair and grades easy.
She is an easy teacher as long as you do the work. She explains how to do the work very clearly and is always available and helpful when asked questions.
Clear expectations. This class is what she explained in the beginning. You must do your work.
You must do all your work and assignments. She explains all details of the class and expectations are clear.
Clear expectations and grading. Took 302 and now 303. Good course. I liked 303 better than 302.
Class objectives were clear and easily measurable. Just make sure you stay on schedule and complete your work. No surprises. Prof. Swithenbank answered all questions clearly. Good class if you are looking for typing speed improvement.
This is en entry level Business class with technology integrated into the course. I was disapointed to find it didn't transfer to Sac Sate. Prof. Swithenbank brought real life experience and examples to try and make the class interesting. It was a little boring to me because it was such an into or beginning class. But the instruction was clear.
Great Professor! She always helped when I had questions. We had team projects and Professor Swithenbank was available and made time when our team had "issues". She was understanding and help us work things out. She cares about her students and is always available to help.
This was an online course. You must do the reading to pass the class. Prof. S. was very prompt with respoing my emails and was easy to see during office house. MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR READING TO PASS THE CLASS.
Good class for a refresher in typing.
This typing course is required for my AA but it was nice to "fine tune" my skills and improve my speed and accuracy. The down side is you have to buy the book and online key code in order to do the work. Yet another way to make $$ off of students and keep book prices up. Instructor is really nice and helpful. Quick 8 week class.
This 10-key class does not need a textbook. Yea! It was a required course for my AA but I wish there was some way to test out of it instead for those already proficient in 10-key. Easy online course with an in-person final. FYI - if you have a laptop, you will have to attach a keyboard or other 10-key device. Got mine used at Hospice/Goodwill.
I also took the 2nd 8 week class that follows--BUSTEC 303. I could type before in my own special way, but not very fast haha! I broke my bad typing habits and after both of her typing classes I am proud to say I can type as fast as 55WPM WITHOUT LOOKING!! I recommend!
SHE IS SUCH A SWEET TEACHER, I COMPLETED BUSTECH 302, 303, AND 304 WITH HER, AND MUST SAY THAT SHE IS THE BEST. SHES COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDING AND HELPFUL AND I'D RECOMMEND HER 100%
She is very understanding, very nice. She takes time to help all her students, I passed her bustec 302 class. Best class I've taken in college thus far.
This class wasn't the "piece of cake", I thought it was going to be, but Professor Swithenbank was the best teacher I have ever had. She was always available, helpful, and caring. She helped me get a good grade and worked with me when I asked for help. Everyone in the class loved her.
I am new in typing. The course was online 8 wks long. Don't repeat my mistake. I did 2/3 of my work during 1st week, and it was super EZ. BUT when I started the last part just before final, I almost got D. Tried to correct everything this night. My fingers are wooden. Do everyting on time. I had 2 days after final to change my grade.
Very good teacher!!! went to class Once a week. Mainly was on the computer. Very easy typing test. Very easy homework!! Best teacher I ever had. Very chill.
Sweetest teacher ever! She even worked with me when I had some personal things pop up and fell a little behind. She cares!
She is the sweetest Professor ever. She cares about the success of her students. I also took a 10 key class with her. The only downfall is that she it is difficult at times to get responses to emails. However, if you call during her office hours, she will usually pick up and answer your questions. Enjoyed having her as my professor.
She was easy to reach via email. Class was tough online but she was there to support me.
Best teacher I have ever had. She really does care about her students.
She is very understanding, very nice, and presents information clearly. She is very knowledgable. Knows tons about business and computers. She takes time to help all her students, I passed her CISA300 class. Best class I've taken in college.
An understanding and knowledgeable prof. Presents information clearly. She knows tons about businesses and computers. She takes time to help all her students. Best class I've taken in college.
Fabulous teacher. Quick to respond to you via email (this was an online course.) She works hard to help her students succeed. I will take more courses from her if I can.
She's a very easy professor. Some of the assignments just aren't very clear. I sent her emails clarifying assignments and she would respond, but only sometimes. Now I'm taking another class through her, and she has not responded to any of my emails. It's very frustrating because I can't continue on until she responds.
Very responsive. She provides excellent help during her office hours.
Great class. Fast to respond to emails. Very helpful when I asked for help (it was an online course.)
Great class to get a general overview of working in any business.
This was an online class. She was very quick to respond to emails... sometimes even at 1am or 2am in the morning.
This was a hard class for me because I am older and did not grow up having a computer. She helped me when I had problems and was fast to email be back. I received help during her office hours alot. If you need help go see her. She is good at explaining everything. She is available in person even though it was an online class.
Clear concise objectives. Self paced. Read the book and get an A. Pretty simple stuff. I finished the class in 3 weeks. No discussion board, Yeah . I highly recommend this teacher for this entry level class.
This was my first business class at the college. Prof. S had the most interesting lectures. She used the information from the book but the examples she used were from her experiences and knowledge so she made the whole class interesting and easily to understand what the book was trying to teach.
This was an online class. She responded to my email quickly and many times when it was late at night (like 11pm) and I would send an email she would get back to me in just a few minutes. She also responded on the weekends. I did not expect this but as I work full time I was happy that she was available when I was doing my work.
I took this class as part of my Water/Waste Water Management Certificate. It was an online class so I was worried about staying on track since I didn't have to physically go to school. Prof S sent messages at least three times a week every week to make sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to do and make sure that you stayed on track.
This was a Monday/Wednesday class during Spring 2019. She gave great lectures that related the book information to what really happens in the world. She gave great examples of what really happens in the world and made the class really interesting.
Prof. S. made lectures really interesting. I didn't know I didn't know. She brought had examples that really elaborated on what the book was trying to tell you. Her examples made me realize all that really goes on in business. She was kind and funny. Her lectures show all the experience she has to share.
Took two of her online classes to fulfill SAP requirements. Great teacher that opens up all of her modules almost immediately, giving you the option to complete the assignments way ahead of time. Instructions were straightforward and easy to understand. I would definitely take her classes again.
I took Business 360 with Professor S in 2019 and had no issues. She makes it easy for you to come talk to her or email her. I had no problems with the office class. Book isn't required but good to have it to look at if you have issues, but other than that I was able to catch up in 4 weeks with the final and pre final.
This was a great in person class. Because of COVID-19 we were moved to online. I miss Prof. S in person lectures. The online class was not as good but I would do it. I think you get more out of her class in person. Online or in person she is a good professor and I would take any of her classes with hesitation.
This class was required as part of my Water/Waste Water Management Certificate. I took the course online and Prof S sent messages at least three times a week every week. She made sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to do and make sure that you stayed on track. This was very helpful since it was online and we did not go to campus.
Classes are much different online during these COVID times. This class was 100% online. Professor Swithenbank always replied to my emails quickly. She answered my questions and always encouraged me to contact her if I needed help or assistance. She cares about her students. I felt like she was there to help even though we never met in person.
This was a word and keyboarding class. It helped me type faster and break my bad habits. Professor S. was easy to reach even though the class was online. She was easy to talk to and contact during her Zoom office hours. You do need to work and type a lot of lessons but it is worth it. You cannot forget to use your keyboard cover.
I took this course online due to COVID. There is were quizzes on the reading assignments, 3 papers, and discussion boards. Prof. S. was very easy to reach during Zoom Office hours and emails. He was helpful and you can tell she cares. If you do the reading and keep up to date in the course youll do fine.
I took this online 8 week class during the first have of the semester. Mrs. Swithenbank was fast to respond to my emails, even when I sent them at midnight. This class was graded on how fast you could type on a numeric keypad. I wasn't that fast so I wasn't able to get an A.
Professor Swithenbank taught this keyboarding course over the summer. The syllabus was clear and she was easy to reach during her scheudled office hours. I will be taking more courses from her to get my certificate.
I took this online 8 week course in early 2022. Professor Swithenbank was very quick to respond to my emails even very late at night. I learned a lot from this course and wold take a course from her again.
This was an online course. I learned a lot in the course. I did not like doing the discussion boards but looking back I think they helped me dealing with similar situations in I have been in at my current job. I recommend this course.
This was a hard class for me because I do not use a computer for my daily job. Professor Swithenbank was very helpful when I had questions and reached out to see how she could help me when she saw I was struggling.
This was a computer course I had to take as part of my certificate. I am not a fast typer but this course helped. Professor Swithback was helpful when I had questions and even reached out to me when she saw I was behind in the course.
This was the second course I had to take as part of my certificate. BUSTEC 307 was 8 weeks and this BUSTEC 308 was 8 weeks. I had Professor Swithenback for a full semester. She returned my emails really fast. It was a hard class because I don't type fast but I am glad I took the course with her.
This was an spreadsheet class for microsoft excel. At the end of the class we had to take a microsoft certification test on excel. The test was hard but if you did not pass she allowed you to take an online final instead. I am glad she did. I wish I would have taken more of the practice tests she provided for the certification.
I was nervous about taking my first college course over the summer. Professor Swithenbank was awesome! I am so glad I had her for my first college experience. Her course expectations, assignments, and grading was clear in the syllabus. She was available to me outside of class during her Zoom office hours.
My first Project Management class was harder than expected. Ms. Swithenbank was helpful when I asked questions and responded to my emails fast and outside the hours she said she would be available (like at 11pm at night.) I work full time and do my homework at night so I was able to keep working instead of waiting for replies the next morning.
I thought his class would be easy. It probably would have been if I kept up with the work. Professor S was helpful when I need help with the software. Most stuff is in the syllabus and she emails the class at least twice a week with information to help with the assignments.
This was a hard class for me because I have never take a Project Management course. Professor Swithenbank was great. She explained everything when I had questions. If I emailed her late with questions, she would ask if I would like to get into a Zoom meeting with her. She would make herself available at even at 9pm (and later).
I took this Excel class to get Microsoft Certified. The class included free certification testing (it would have cost me at least $100 for certification if I wasn't in the class.) Professor S. gave us access to free online practice tests to prepare. She was available during and outside of the hours posted in the syllabus.
I took this class to help get a job working in an office. I don't type very well and this course helped me. Mrs. Swithenbank was great. I would have gotten a better grade if I practiced more. The text books/software were online (but not "no cost".) I was surprised how fast she got back to my emails. Not everyone is as responsive as her.
I had a lot of problems with this excel course because I am not very good with the computer. Mrs. Swithenback was available outside of office hours when I needed help. She was very quick to email be back with help or offered to get on a Zoom, even late at night when I was doing homeowrk.
This was my first time class in project management. We used a free etext and also a regular textbook. I suggest if you take the class to purchase the microsoft project software for your computer. I had problems using the NetLab. Prof Swithenbank was fast to answer emails or hop into zoom when I needed help- even outside of her posted office hours.
I just finished my summer 8 week PRJMGT 300: Into to Project Management. Prof. Swithenbank answered my questions very fast. The project at the end was big. I recommend having Microsoft Project installed; it was hard to use the remote NetLab computers. When I needed help she often meet with me on Zoom outside her office hours.
Many of the questions on the MOS Certification Exam did not seem anywhere near as straightforward as the regular weekly assignments. If we didn't pass it, she let us just take an online final! I am very glad she did, because I did not even finish my MOS exam due to only having 50 minutes to complete it. And I got an A on my online final!
I knew nothing about project management before this class. I learned a lot; now I'm interested in taking more of the FLC's project management classes and maybe an excel class. This was a good introduction to project management if you want to see what it is all about. Professor S. made everything clear and easy and was fast to respond to my emails.
I took this class to get Microsoft Excel Certification. Class homework/tests are different than the certification test. There was free practice test software that was helpful once I figured it out. The certification test was free to students in BUSTEC 362. Professor Swithenbank helped me when needed and she was available outside her office hours.
I had problems trying to use the software for the ebook and course assignments. It was had because I was using a chromebook and not a PC. Professor Swithenbank got on Zoom with me and helped me work it all out.
This was a good beginning Project Management class. I would have done better if I had Microsoft Project installed on my computer. I did not so I had to login to a remote computer and use NetLab. Prof. S. was helpful when I had NetLab problems. She responds to emails fast and was available late at night in Zoom.
The hardest part about this class was figuring out how to login to the online software. This is a typing class and you need to practice a lot to get faster and get a good grade. Elizabeth was a good teacher and her grading criteria is clear.
I use Excel at work but have never taken an Excel class. This class helped me a lot. I also took (and passed) the Microsoft Excel Certification exam as part of this class. The cost of the certification test is included in tuition. Professor Swithenbank helped prepare be for certification and was friendly. I would recommend her as a teacher.
I took Intro to Project Management over the summer. The syllabus was clear. The online class was organized by weeks on Canvas. The only hard part was the Microsoft Project software. It is really expensive to buy so I had to use the free option (NetLab) to login to a remote computer. Netlab wasn't user friendly and you had to make a reservation.
I took this keyboarding class. You used the regular keyboard and also the ten key pad. The ten key pad was hard for me to get a good score on. I did not type as fast as on the regular keyboard. Grading criteria was clear in the syllabus and the online software was easy to use. You have to pay for the software. It was not free.
I took this class to improve my typing skills over the summer. I could've earned a higher grade with more practice. The textbooks and software were accessible online, although not free. She quickly responded to emails, as not all instructors are that responsive. I chose to take this class at FLC instead of ARC, CRC, or SCC and I am glad that I did.
I was very nervous to take this college course because I am a senior in high school. PRJMGT300 was offered as a dual enrollment class. Professor Swithenbank was approachable and not stuffy. I was not intimidated by a "college professor." The software we used was difficult but with her help I was able to get a B in the course.
I thought this was going to be an easy class but I was wrong. To get an A you need to practice your typing a lot. We used the keyboard and the 10 key pad. Be prepared for lots of typing to pass.
Professor Elizabeth Swithenbank is a teacher whom is attentive and organized. She/They made this course smooth, informative and balanced. This course is simply what you came for and you will have a great outcome if you want to learn! She responds to emails, questions and is available on Canvas. Great for all students and ages!
The professor was disengaged, and the course was too easy. It felt like she didn't care about the students. No matter what project you did, she never gave feedback. She only gave a grade for the final discussion, but didn't provide any comments throughout the course.
Professor Swithenbank was very attentive and quick to respond every time I emailed her. This was an online class and I could not attend office hours because of my work schedule. She often met with me after 8pm at night to answer my questions on Zoom. I found using the NetLab software confusing and she helped walk me through it.
I took an online typing class to improve my speed. As soon as you figure out how to create your username and password into the software it is easy. Professor Swithenbank helped me with my questions when I was trying to get logged in. She met with me via Zoom and walked me through step by step. She replied to my emails within 24 hours.
Good class. It was only 8 weeks. Prof. Swithenbank answered emails and helped when I had problems. She even got onto Zoom with me late at night when she did not have office hours, because I work. The hard part about this class is using the free NetLab software. She helped me get logged in and walked me through the software.
One of my favorites! She is so helpful if you attend her Zoom office hours. She is very knowledgeable and really cares about helping her students.
This was an online Word class. I had problems with some of the projects and she helped me fix my mistakes. I had problems because I was using a different version of the software. She provided feedback on my work at was very supportive.
I took this class because I had Prof. S. in another course. I wanted to take another business class from her. Her online classes are well organized and she is responsive via emails and Zoom. She met with me several times via Zoom outside of her office hours.
This was an online class with no physical book. You have to buy online software access. At the end I took a free Microsoft Word Certification test. If had taken the test elsewhere it would have cost me $150. As long as you keep up with the work and projects you will do fine. Professor S. was always available to help when I needed it.
This was an online class so attendance wasn't “required” at any specific time. Professor S. was great and available to me outside of her posted office hours. She really cared. The hardest part was figuring out how to use the online NetLab login for the software.
No scheduled meetings or required attendance ane one quiz every week and a final project. Part of the class is learning the Microsoft Project software. If you do not have it you can use a remote/cloud computer. I had problems getting logged in. Prof. S. helped but the class needs a better way to provide access to the required software.
I thought this was going to be an "easy" typing class. The 10 key portion is hard! You need to practice a lot. If you are not use to using the 10 key pad you need to work on it a lot to get to the required speed. The syllabus clearly states what speed/accuracy you need to be at to get an A, B, C...
