This professor is great! I had her for an 8am class and she was always entertaining and animated. All the content in this class applies to your life. Tests are straight forward as long as you study from the study guide she gives you. She wants her students to succeed and gives a lot of positive feedback for speeches. One of the best professors

This teach is one of the best in the school! She says she cares about your success and she does! She will do everything in her power to work with you as long as you show up to class regularly but it is ok to miss class every once in a while as well.

Very positive. Constant encouragement. Teaches straight from the test. Requires attendance so plan to show up. Don't bother with the book, though.

I don't think I've had a teacher more excited about teaching. She really makes you interested in the class and the assignments aren't designed to be difficult but you learn a lot.

Sloan is by far my favorite prof. She is always so exited about the material and willing to help! Communications is now one of my favorite subjects. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Tests are easy, Material is very understandable, and class is fun.

For a group presentation, I wrote up my portion the night before it was due, and after we presented, she told me my part was the best in my group. Maybe it's just me, but either way, she's encouraging and an amazing teacher.

Awesome teacher!! Very few actual presentations but they were always fun and interesting and could easily be related to the topic being taught. She keeps the class going with a fun and easy going additude. Tests are pretty easy, I usually jut review all my notes the night before. If you have the chance to take communications with her, go for it!!!

Professor Sloan is an amazing person and teacher, she is very funny and really connects well with the students. She makes the class fun and even though there is a speech that you have to give in the class, she makes it easy for you as possible. Would definitely recommend her!

There are some group assignments, and two major speeches (one with a group, one solo). Show up, read the book, do the speeches, and you'll probably get and A.

I have a fear of public speaking but I had to take a communications class. Sloan made presenting not so bad. Shes very energetic and encouraging. Every class she would come in too class with a giant smile on her face. Although she can be quite loud.

Liz is a bit overwhelming your first day but you will learn to LOVE her personality. She totally has southern hospitality flowing through her veins. The only way you will not pass this class or enjoy it is by not showing up, doing the few assignments and asking questions. Only one speech at the end of the semester which was brief and easily graded.

I loved her class. I had intro to communication with her and she is just the best prof I've ever had. Although she is a bit loud she is hilarious and inspiring. She really does care a lot about her students and goes the extra mile for them. Her classes overall are not hard because she is so easy to listen to and you actually want to be there.

Taking Sloan's class was the best decision I made this year. She cares about each of her students and makes you feel welcome in the classroom. Grading was simple, in-class assignments are graded by whether or not you finished them in class, not by content. Enthusiastic teacher, warm personality, GREAT choice if you just need the credits!

She's a loud (but fun) southern belle type that you'll love after you get to know her throughout the semester. She assigns a couple of papers and speeches throughout the semester, but if you put in the effort for them and it shows, you'll get a solid grade.

She makes the classes fun and engaging so the time usually passes by quickly anyways. Please take her, I cannot express it any other way!

sloan is so loving and funny, i usually suck at speeches but she made me feel very comfortable when i gave one. took over summer and she was just amazing. speeches were so easy and mainly about yourself. she is just wonderful. dont waste your time taking it during fall or spring its very easy summer course

She was so amazing! She taught us so well, and always gave us good feedback. She's very loud and energetic which always made us laugh and put us in a good mood. She was very patient, and explained things really well. Be ready to take a lot of notes, but overall, quite impressed!

Her lectures are awesome and she is really good at teaching, and is very approachable and funny. There were speeches we had to do but they were fun and easy.

One thing is that she does take a long time to grade and get back to emails but she is a very easy grader and allows you to use the text during exams. There is one group presentation and one solo presentation but the class is an easy A.

This class was a pretty easy English class, and she grades great. The only paper we had she gave no rubric so I did what I thought she wanted and got full points. The two tests are easy and there is a speech at the end of the class, however she cancelled it last minute. The last test was extra credit.

Loud and enthusiastic, but immensely kind. Tests were easy as she tells you everything you need to know and take notes on. Reading is relevant and reasonable. Since it's a comm class she likes to have group work but the projects are pretty easy. Basically show up to lecture and participate and you will succeed. Highly recommend! Easy A.

Mostly self guided learning so if you don't read the textbook you won't pass. The textbook is not difficult to read tho, and you only really need to know the definitions for the exam. Every week theres either an assignment (50 pts, but v easy) or a discussion (3 mandatory posts) to accompany the weeks chapter. Very chill class, not demanding at all

Professor Thayer was great. Her class was easy and reasonable, basically do the discussion and test and you can pass the class with an A+. They only issue is she doesn't update your grade till the end of the semester, as well with very late on response through email. Other than that she is a great professor, would recommend to take her class again.

Exams were nearly effortless if you did the study guides. Assignments are easy, as long as you do them you will receive full credit. The only downside is that she takes forever to grade.

Professor Thayer was a great teacher for this class. Sometimes she was a bit late on uploading lectures but the work was always very doable and wasn't hard to get everything done. She also gives a couple extra credit assignments that are very helpful. She was super helpful and answered questions by email very fast. I recommended her to anyone !

I was a little nervous to take my first summer class, but Prof. Thayer made me love summer classes. She was so kind, responded to Emails quickly, was understanding, and worked with you, not against you! I would 100% recommend this professor to everyone. The homework was straightforward and the tests were multiple choice. Loved this class :)

I took Elizabeth's 6-week summer course online. She's a very easy grader, gives full credit so long as you meet the grading criteria. She's a hands-off professor, no lectures or abundance of reading. One group project, but easy. Speech-wise, we only gave one speech during the final week of class, which we pre-recorded. I definitely recommend her!

Every week is super easy you only do one thing and your homework for the week takes 30 mins at most. The only downside is she doesn't grade anything, I haven't had a single thing put in the grade book since the year started.

Prof. Thayer was great, her D2L layout was well organized and there was never any surprises. It's mostly readings and lectures followed by a couple quizzes and occasional discussion posts. There's also one group project and one informative speech towards the end of the semester. I recommend taking her class! I'm in PSEO and it went well for me.

One of the best professors I have had! Everything was very organized. There was only one assignment each week (typically either discussion post or short assignment). I learned through the video lectures. The only little I complaint is she grades really slow. There was nothing until about week 10, but she gave 100 percent on every assignment

Very easy course. Response time is 2-3 days. Only slight difference between other asynch courses is that assignments are uploaded weekly, so you cannot get ahead, but she will open them early if you have a legit reason. One type of assignment per week, easy to finish fast.

Thayer is a good professor and she is a very easy grader. The weeks work is often uploaded late and grades are put in late. Not much work was needed in order to get an A in this class.

There is an online textbook in this class that you can access through d2L. You do need to present a speech through zoom for the final project but it was really easy and Prof. Thayer is really supportive. She was consistent with posting the weekly to-do which is always nice. You mostly read and do assignments in this class, and some discussions.

Very easy grader. I got 100% on everything. Two papers, 3 exams (open note, 50 questions, 100 points), and a speech. Speech is on zoom and she gives great feedback. It is with 3-4 other people. She is sweet and communicates clearly. Would take another class with her.
