My favorite teacher by far!! She's so sweet and she is always doing whatever she can to help. Always makes herself available to her students. If you are taking Bio 101 or 102, take it from her!!!! Definitely one of the best teachers on the whole campus

Dr Thomas is the reason I passed freshman year. If it weren't for her help and dedication I never would have gotten past bio. She worked with me one on one for every test and was so willing to help me and take up her extra time. take her!

I thought that her class was pretty hard. I had a hard time concentrating because it is all powerpoints. She is very helpful, though, she just didn't get on my level too much. She has a nice curve, but I anticipate a C.

Great teacher, but more importantly, she's a great person. She explains things thoroughly in class, hands out a study guide before each test, and holds a special review session before each test as well. The class is challenging, but Thomas gives her students every chance in the world to succeed.

Unfortunately, she's very interested in Biology... I'm not. The class is pretty boring. And there's no textbook for the class so you HAVE to go to class to know the material. She's very willing to help, you just have to ask for it.

Prof. Thomas LOVES Biology! She is so enthusiastic about what she is teaching. However, she didn't cover material that she tested us on. It was really frustrating.

Mrs. Thomas is one of the best teachers you could ask for. She is a very nice lady, very helpful, and a GREAT teacher. She loves teaching. She'll help you all she can, and she does a good job. If you take responsibility for your grade and don't procrastinate, it's an easy B. My fave teacher in 7 years.

She is a really sweet lady. She clearly knows what she's talkng about and loves talking about it. Content is pretty interesting; pertinent information. Tests are a little difficult only because 1/3 of the questions come from readings not covered in class. Read the online text and be sure to take notes... should be a really easy B.

Somewhat difficult. STUDY SHEETS are just about every answer on her tests. Learned the hard way. Gives a final and a midterm. Lots of easy homework quizzes and clicker points.

The tests are hard but the clicker questions really help your grade along with homework quizes, also curves tests!

This class was not as easy as she made it seem. True there are many clicker points but they are only 5% of the overall grade. The powerpoint project is important to do well on since it is worth so many points. The quizes are tough but she is always willing to answer any questions.

I don't understand how people could fail this class. Lots of curving, and test questions were simple. Did not even listen half of the time in class and still got over 100% average. Don't bother buying the book though, tests are based solely on lecture material and common sense.

Took Biol 105 for a GEC, class was super easy. She curved every test, I got A's on all 4 test, and only spent like 8 hours on the research project that is due half way through semester and got a 90% on it. you can skip class and get an A still.. but she offers extra credit for attendance which adds up to 6% of your grade.. so it really helps.

Over all Ms. Thomas is a great teacher. She is very clear when she speaks and her office hours will bring light to any questions or problems you have in her class. She sometimes has long lectures, but for the most part she is really good at teaching the basics for biology.

Professor Thomas is an excellent instructor. If you take the time to review the lecture slides and put in some added effort to studying certain ideas she brings up in the slides and in lecture, this will help you a ton, and you'll understand what she's saying all semester. Super helpful, nice, and enthusiastic. Textbooks not necessary, use YouTube.

It is true; a lot of the material on tests was not included in the Powerpoints. But they were literally straight from the book. And on the syllabus she gives you are the chapters and sections that you need to be reading along with every lecture. Seriously, help yourself a little and her class can be enjoyable and easy.

She is excited to teach, which makes it way more interesting, especially at 8:30. I barely used my book because she covered everything for the exams and then some in her lectures. Take good notes and you will be fine. Probably my favorite professor.

It's laughable that other people are rating Dr. Thomas low... they obviously didn't come to class to learn. She's a great professor, straight-forward, and easy to approach. Yes, you must read the book... you're not in college to get auto "A's", you're there to LEARN. If that's your intent, Dr. Thomas will pave the way for you to succeed.

Great professor!! Sweetest lady you'll ever meet, she actually cares about her students. Does a lot of clicker questions and you get 20 points for being there so expect to come to class. Memorize the study guides and you'll ace the tests. Definitely recommend. Don't need the textbook!! Just learn the slides in her powerpoints.

She is the most amazing Bio teacher I've ever had. There is no way you can fail this class because her lectures are so clear that you don't even need to read the book. Just come to class to earn some clicker question points, do your HW and read the study guide for your exam and you will do great in this class. You will end up with at least a B+.

Professor Thomas is a very astute woman who knows what she's teaching and is passionate about it. She genuinely wants you to do well and pass her class. I found her lectures interesting, tests are difficult if you don't study but she gives you all the tools you need and has really helpful review sessions before tests.

If you truly study before every test you'll get an A. If you dont show up to class, dont study, and dont put any effort into the class you'll fail. Just like any other class. The professor speaks monotone but puts all of her power point lectures online. She also sets up review sessions the night before the test which I STRONGLY recommend going to.

She's an interesting professor and clearly cares about the course material and her students' success. The book could be helpful but frankly I've done fine without using it much. Biggest complaint is test questions are sometimes worded ambiguously or worse, on specific trivia like dates, but for the most part is fair and done well.

Dr. Thomas is awesome! She's so enthusiastic, which was great at 8:30 AM, because it kept us awake and engaged. She took clicker points and gave some participation credit for them even if you got them wrong, as like an attendance grade. Tests weren't hard as long as you paid attention to lecture. Very good at teaching the material but lectures can get boring, do not recommend taking the 8:30. Make sure to show up and review the study guide she provides. Every single question asked on the test is practically on the study guide. You will get docked points if you don't answer the clicker questions so make sure to show up, and pay attention.

Skim the book for lectures, show up to lectures, and do a little bit of work each day throughout the week and there is no reason you shouldn't get an A. I really enjoyed this professor for this class! Her tests were pretty much straight forward from the notes, so take notes and just study from that. I rented the textbook for this class and never even opened it, so don't bother. She is very understanding when you are confused and need help.

Biology is not my strong suit, but I finished with a grade of over 100%. I never opened the book, just came to class, took notes, and paid attention. The exams are almost completely from the study guides (which go along with the slides), iClicker questions, and homework quiz questions. She is very kind, ready to help, and open to questions.

She gives you every opportunity to ask questions in class, and it is easy to get ahold of her to ask questions outside of class. Show up to class, answer the clicker questions, study the material, and you will be more than fine.

Thomas is amazing BUT watch out for the lab, it's not taught by her and you DEFINETLY DONT want your lab instructor to be JAMES COLLINS he goes by seth. Switch immediately, I never received 100% on ANY assignment. He barely understood how to do the labs and grades like its grad school, every other ta grades so much easier don't take him he sucks!!!

Beth is an awesome professor whos passionate about biology. If you go to class and pay attention there's no reason you cant get an A. Shes available to help, and answers questions after class in depth. Top few professors ive had so far. The lab is hard that goes with it, collins TA is NOT good. I barely got an A in lab bc his grading is ridiculous.
