Dr. Turner is a great teacher. If you are willing to work in her class you will pass. I suggest taking her class because she is highly educated!! Simply read the stories and work with her and you will pass. Excellent teacher!!!!
She is way too demanding strict. She demands way too much for an ENG2 class. I consulted english majors who said that she is out of her mind for what she demandS from ENG 102 students. Too much time spent for such little return. DONT TAKE HER
very hard class. Lots of people dropped out. Very demanding but she is willing to help you. To get an A in her class is a huge achievement. So think about taking her class.
Very hard teacher. She is very critical of papers and you almost need to prove yourself to her before you get an A.
I took the internet class and it was very difficult. She gives you more assignments than an onsight class. I barely passed.
I took Women & Creativity with her. She's nuts! She's really hard & very opinionated which would be fine except that she expects u to feel the same way. Her opinion papers-Geez- use her opninion. You'll do better. I confronted her & she said if I didn't feel the same as she I should drop the class.
Very demanding and hard grader. Hard work is not often rewarded with good grades.
i asked her to help me out and override so i can take her class so that i can graduate....and she said NO. not very helpful.
she was a nice person, but she was insane. very into her job, but way way too much work. everything had to be down to the smallest detail and class was very stressful. more than half of the class dropped. workload is too much for 102. i would expect this much if i were a graduate student, but not for a gen ed. i hated going to class.
Very hard, selfish, uncaring, just there for a pay check. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES!
A wonderful teacher. I took the online class. It's a lot of work but you learn a lot. Very thought provoking discussions. She is very encouraging. I would take another class with her if the opportunity is available.
She is extremely difficult and too demanding. We had a short paper to write and she made everyone in the class write it over several times. She made me write over 5 times and I have alwyas gotten A's in all of my English/Literature classes. In the beginning of the semester there were about 10-15. By the end of the semester there were only 5.
Took class as a gen ed requirement. Took online because my first experience with a different ENG 101 professor was a joke. Turner expects a lot from her students because she see's the potential in everyone. I learned a lot from her, and would take another class with her again.
Dr Turner is an amazing proffesor. She would bend over backwards to help her students. She has very high standards. You will be a MUCH better writer at the end of her class. She taught me so much. But what I liked best about her is that she creates community in her class and she wants you to learn from others and also to discover and teach.
DO NOT take her for ANY class. I signed up for her class and saw her rating on here. But I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. This was a huge mistake & now I can't get my money back for the class. If you fail the midterm, you WILL fail her class. And her tests are unbelievable!
She was a terrible on line 102 teacher.Never helped with questions.Didn't work with you when it came to essays. She had no problem telling you that your paper sucked, but wouldn't help you make it better. She made everyone sign on line 6 days a week and had home work daily!Papers were to be written in one week, BAD TEACHER I WOULD NEVER TAKE HER AGAIN
uses slide shows ....thats her teaching must study alot for this class.........three 100 point tests 12 labs but drop 2 ....2 lab exams very hard 50 points ..........4 quizzes 25 points each..........NOT A GOOD RECOMMENDATION...............
Dr Turner demands a lot and her class is very time consuming, but you will be better at writing when the semester is through. She is very helpful and truly wants you to succeed.
Dr. Turner demands a lot from her students. Took 101 and again for 102 (which this post is for). Online course, packed into 8 weeks vs. traditional 16 week course. Intense - daily postings/reading and homework. Walking away from her 102 class, you will become a better writer. She cares about her students success and is not afraid to show it.
BY FAR THE WORST TEACHER AT HARPER. I HOPE THAT THE ENGLISH DEPT. WOULD KICK HER TO THE CURB. NOTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT HER.
boring to much reading
SHE NEEDS TO FIND A BOY FRIEND AND GET A LIFE. UGLY, UGLY, AND AGAIN UGLY. MRS. TURNER PLEASE RETIRE OR QUIT, PLEASE DO THE STUDENTS A FAVOR.
She is the most difficult teacher for 102. My class went from 20+ students to 6 at the end of the semester because so many people dropped. She expects way to much of her students. This class is horribly time consuming. All in all if you have the choice to take another teacher I would!
Absolutly terrible. One of the worst english teachers i've ever had. Her teachings are unclear, poor time management, we're always catching up on what happend 3 weeks prior. Absolutly no sense of humor. I can honestly say i've learned nothing relavent in this class. You have to write a 10 page paper about Shakespheare for your final.
I guess they let anyone put a DR. in front of their name now. The lady is so wrapped up in english that she doesnt even have a clue. She is the worst teacher I have ever had, and everyone in my class would have dropped her if it wasnt mandatory. She is out of control and absolutely the worst.
never had a class i tried so hard in just to come away failing. class went from 25+ at the beginning of the semester and we're down to 8. demands way too much of her students for an english 102 class. kids in honors english classes dont have nearly as much to do for their classes as we do for this class-give us a break! some of us have lives!
This woman is a horrible teacher for 102. She has no idea what she is talking about, and if your opinion differs, than you are clearly wrong. She gave the majority D's on the first major paper, and most of the class dropped out. From 25 people, there are less than 10! She is incompetent, and should be fired, and all of my classmates would agree
It must be said that if you want to pass this class, you must work HARD. If you're just doing it for the credit, or phoning it in or whatever, don't take her class. If you want to LEARN and have your mind and your thinking broadened, do yourself a favor and take Dr. Turner's class. Best class and best teacher I've ever had.
Geez, you people are brutal. I took her online 101 class and it was definitely HARD.There was a lot of work and it was very time consuming. I don't think she is evil. She just expects a lot from her students. I'm normally pretty good at English but I struggled to get a B. If you want to be challenged, take her.
She expects a lot & her expectations are high, but you will learn how to write well, to analyze and to think critically. I earned an A, but not without sacrifice. My social life was non existant that semester (usually I am a very social male). Not a class for slackers. Her class helped me gain admission into an ivy league school without a doubt.
Don't ever take Dr.Turner's class if you aren't preparted to do the work. Hwrk is 6 nights/wk & I agree w/others that if you didn't agree w/ her opinions she would give a bad grade. She's a very intense teacher & the workload is much higher than I an ENG102 class should have. She belongs at a university somewhere teaching a Masters program.
She's impossible! This class is far more difficult than a 101 class should be. Her expectations are way too high. I don't think she realizes most Harper students have full time jobs and/or families. I would not recommend taking any of her classes.
Grow up this is COLLEGE not high school. You are paying to get an education and work hard it's not suppose to be easy that's why it's college. I work full-time I'm a single mom and had to find the time to do the homework. It was hard but I learned a lot and I'm very grateful to her for all that she taught me.
Amazing professor. Dr. Turner loves her craft and loves to help students. You will be a batter writter and have many more skills because of this class. I recomend for serious student who want to learn because though there is a good work load. You will be better and feel more confident with your skills.
the worst teacher ever,....do not pick her...
PLEASE READ!! NEVER EVER Take this woman's class. She is the most anal teacher I have known. She gave me a D the first time I took her class and now I am re-taking it again. I just remembered how horrible it is. If you like anal teachers then this is the one for you. If not, I would advice you to definitely choose another professor for Eng 101
Terrible Teacher. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HER!! Believes that because she has a Dr, she is gods gift to English. She assigns 10 page papers and returns D's and F's to 75% of the class without even reading their work. I'm writing this review so you don't make the same mistake I did. Save yourself the trouble and take a different teacher!
Don't take the 8 week summer class. She is so damn hard. Her first test consisted of 8 2 page answers with bare minimum preparation. She is ridiculous with her exams. I felt like i was taking an ENG 102 class at Harvard not Harper. It was the worst mistake i've ever made.
PLEASE READ: I must say that this was one of the most difficult classes I have ever taken. BUT, only because it is an 8 week course (short) AND I work. IF you work, rethink about taking this course. I am glad I completed the challenging course. I did learn much. Please note, Summer vs Fall is 2 research papers vs 6-8 research papers. You will learn.
She expects a lot from her students; however, it is to the benefit of the student. Clearly, she wants her students to do well and always gives constructive criticism. I'm grateful I took her class; it definitely prepared me for ENG 102, which I got an A, as well. Thanks Dr. Turner!
Great English 102 Teacher, not easy but really engaging.
She taught me so much, I love english and she is the best
One word about this teacher, LAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you want an easy class then DON'T take this class. She is a good teacher, explaines throughly and helps as much as she can but her assignments are super hard. If you work then reconsider taking this class, I work full time and I couldn't keep up so I had to withdrew.
extremely difficult
Dr. Turner is difficult and a lot of work, but she is very good helping students to achieve their goal. I have learn a lot in her class. Thank Dr. Turner. I have learn a lot in your class
Awful teacher. Too high of an expectation for a 102 course and very condescending. I recommend not taking this class.
AWESOME! I have taken this teacher twice, yes TWICE! Although this teacher has high expectations, and assigns a lot of HW I am beyond happy I had her. Dr. Turner is very personable and knowledgable. It is good to have someone have high exoectations in you. Yes she is tough, BUT the satisfaction of successfully completing her course is worth thework
don't even think about taking her class. Her expectation is way up high in the sky. SHE THINKS WE ARE HARVARD STUDENTS JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no extra credit, final's all short answers and essays that require very thorough memorization. WORST TEACHER EVER. EXTREMELY DIFFICULT!!!!!!!!!!
you think you are doing fairly well at the beginning of the course? well, just wait til you get your midterm grade, then you will sense something's going wrong there. needless to say, it will be too late to turn things back. She ruined my perfect 4.0 GPA. why the heck do you expect so much from us???? its ENG 101 after all. jeez
Well, I will never know how she actually teaches. However, I did learn, as someone else pointed out, that she is indeed very condescending. I wrote her a note prior to taking her class. I picked up on the her being "all that" and as mentioned, condescending. Have not desire now or ever to take her class.
extremely passionate about her job and her students. pushes you mentally to strive for your best writing but has good intentions. if you are looking for a teacher that takes a genuine interest in you, she is the one.
She is a very difficult teacher. I would like to think she has the best intentions. But she grades very critically, and it is almost impossible to get an A. I've been trying very hard, and although I can't say if I deserve an A or not, I can honestly say that if I had a different teacher I would at least get a B.
This professor is just full of bitterness in life. She is a very discouraging professor and does not have the intention of helping students at all. That is how she behaved in the orientation and how she replies in discussion boards even in her announcements. Very miss know-it-all, miss smarty pants, smart-alecky kind of person.
If there is one thing you shouldn't do in life, it's to take this professor. I'm sorry, she'd prefer "DOCTOR". Took her online class, plenty of work w/ due dates spaced a day apart. Due at 7pm. Which does not sit well if you're trying to meet your ed requirements and work full time. Totally ruins the point of an 8-week online class. DO NOT TAKE HER
If the expectations of getting an easy A in this class is high, it will not happen. Very haughty about her PhD, and is very critical on grading. She treats her class as if they are literary scholars. Work was assigned on random weekly dates along with discussions and quizzes too. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!
She is ridiculous. Her expectations for a 101 course are way too high and demanding. She needs to be teaching a masters program somewhere...not teaching at Harper. I spent countless hours on homework assignments and studying for tests...and to no avail! I could have the answer straight from the text and she would still find something wrong.
Four simple words that explain her class! DO NOT TAKE HER!!! You will never pass her class because she will always find a mistake when there isn't a mistake.
DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASS WITH HER!!! A Dr. in English does not mean she is a good teacher. If you don't interpret symbols in a story the same way she does then you are wrong! I worked very hard on a paper and used a thesaurus for vocabulary and she accused me of plagiarism. After finding out is was indeed my words, she never apologized. DO NOT TAKE!!!
How to get an A in this class: GIVE UP, YOU CAN'T. You can give every assignment your heart and soul, to the point where you truly believe it is a masterpiece, and you still will be lucky if you get a B. On the bright side, it prepared me to expect the worst from future professors. BUT my GPA is ruined. I highly recommend you drop this class. NOW.
Forget about this woman. Her criticism of my work was demeaning and her response to my objection was defensive. At my conference she was nicer and said how well I was doing. I did everything she said to edit my paper but she gave me a "C" on it and as my final grade. She did not respond when I left messages asking for an explanation.
DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!!! I HAD TO MEET WITH HER EVERY WEEK IN THE END SO SHE COULD TELL ME EXACTLY HOW SHE WANTED ME TO DO ASSIGNMENTS JUST TO BARELY PASS!!! I HAD 5 A'S MY FIRST SEMESTER!!!! I HAVE BEEN ATTENDING FULL TIME FOR 3 YEARS WORKING ON MY BACHELORS DEGREE AND THIS IS THE HARDEST CLASS I EVER TOOK!!!!
This was the most difficult class I have ever taken. The final must be taken in person and is handwritten, mine was 12 pages long and took 3.5 hours to complete. I got a B in the class and I earned it! This is not an easy class. If you love literature and a challenge, take it you won't be disappointed.
Took the class fully expecting lots of hard work. I want a class to challenge me. This class makes me question my intelligence. I don't understand what she is asking for. From reading the discussion boards other students are not understanding what she wants. Maybe it would be different if it wasn't an online class.
Dr. Turner makes you work for the grade you receive in her class. There are two major papers that get written in her class but she takes the time to help you strengthen your paper. If you are looking for an easy blow off class this isn't the one for you. However, if you want to develop your writing skills I HIGHLY recommend her!
Dr. Turner breaks it down to the level of kindergarten when it comes to her lectures; everything is clear, unless you space out staring at the wall or playing Clash of Clans on your phone. When it comes to expectations, she sets them pretty high, yet expectations are different for each individual. If you want easy credit don't take her class.
One of the greatest teachers I've ever had. When you take her class, you're not just learning about literature. It sounds cliche, but she teaches you things about life. I will never forget how much she cared when no other instructor at Harper (in my experience) did. If you do the work (there's a lot of it), you won't regret choosing her.
Horrible teacher!!!!!! She might have a mental illness. DROP THIS CLASS!!!! Her critiques are completely baseless. If your interpretation is not the same as hers, you are wrong! Showed her comments to a real English teacher friend at Marquette University and she could not believe her teaching methods. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She's just the worst person ever. Plenty of material to go through in a short amount of time. Copy's & Paste everything from the semester before. When you ask for help she gives you condescending answer and wants to be address as "Dr. Turner". She's very comfortable with her job since she has her ten year.
English is an academic strength of mine and I genuinely enjoy writing. I always receive feedback indicating that I completed above average work. I don't know what the problem is with her. She gave me terrible grades on every assignment with no good explanation. She marked us off if we arrived one minute late but kept class 15 minutes every time. NO
I took this an online class, and it was ridiculous. She's a very harsh grader and just overall not a very good class.
One of the best professors I've ever had. She genuinely cares about her students and expects them to work to their best potential. Her class is demanding but very rewarding if you put in the work. She's always available for help and prompt with emailing. If improving your writing skills is important to you, take this class!!
One of the most frustrating professors i have ever had. If you take the class online click around in her website whenever you have the chance. I got a 50% out of 1000 points based on how many "clicks" I had. Lowered my grade like crazy and other than that she is an extremely hard grader. Her feedback is incredibly vague and worthless.
I've never met a teacher with a doctor status who is more proud of their status than this lady. This label contradicts her ability to teach as she clearly is doing it all wrong. Her blackboard is horribly flawed as well as her grading system. Someone give this woman a refresher on how to teach in the year 2018 because clearly she needs a refresher.
Dr. Turner was the worst teacher I could have had at Harper. She asks you to write on specific ideas (theory, characters, irony, etc) on certain literature pieces and when you do so, she finds many things wrong with your writing. Same with her papers she assigns. Highly recommend not to take.
Just don't
Though this is a Comp 101 class, it's incredibly difficult, ! She expects way to much out of her students, as if we're already supposed to be experts. With all that being said though, she will also ignore your emails, and will fail you if things aren't perfect! She must have forgot we go to school so that we can learn!!!! Sorry we aren't all Dr's
Took her class online and it's probably one of the biggest regrets I've had this semester. I ended up dropping her class because 1) she doesn't care about her students passing, 2) her grading system is awful, 3) she's a TOUGH grader. I took ENG101 at a uni and received an A. This class made it seem impossible to get a B. Take somebody else!!
Professor Turner is not for the light hearted, she teaches a hard class. But it's incredibly well structured, and I found that the hard deadlines spanned out over time really kept me engaged. She gives good feedback, even if sometimes she won't take any other interpretations of the reading but her own. Your work must be to her standards, good luck
I wish I would of looked up this professor before signing up for her class because I usually love English, but I absolutely hate this class. I'm currently in it, but not sure if I'll be able to finish it with how it's going.
DO NOT TAKE This was the worst class I've ever taken. She is an extremely hard grader. I felt like I was set up for failure. No matter how hard I tried nothing was good enough. This teacher needs to get over herself this is a 102 class at Harper not Harvard. Even if this is the last class with openings don't take it.
the worst ever. ive been in AP english all my high school career and this professor made me feel dumb and stupid even though I knew my work was up to par. basically if you dont want mental health issues and to hate yourself forever, dont take ANY thing taught by this professor.
I lasted 2 months, had an F the whole time. One of the worst prof. EVER. She makes her assignments due at 7, whenever she pleases (other prof. have 11:59). You'll have to read a book in a day, write a 5 pg. essay in a day, and you will have a bunch of tests. If your answers aren't like hers, you're wrong. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! Good luck if you do
Taking Dr. Turners class was excruciating. I am a disabled student at Harper. I have accommodations, and they LEGALLY need to be accepted, but she barely complied. Her dates for homework were always vague and on strange days of the week (one time on a national holiday). She liked my essays, but when it came to tests, the grades were poor.
Dr. Turner is way too tough. If what you write is not what she thinks is correct, even if you have evidence to back yourself up, you are just wrong. She asks you to write in MLA format, but if you don't follow her specific rules for it, you are wrong, even if every other source says you're not. Her feedback is pretty vague. Would not take her again
If you want to do well, then you definitely don't want her to be your teacher.
FRESHMAN BEWARE. If you've only taken standard English classes for your time in high school, nothing you will have learned thus far will prepare you for the hell crawl that is this class and the level of work you are expected to produce. Seek your credit hours elsewhere!
Dr. Turner was probably one of the rudest educators I have ever had the chance to meet. There was one instance where she emailed me at an inappropriate time to change something that HER computer didn't have the chance to see and I did not get credit for that assignment even though I emailed her the assignment in a different format. DO NOT TAKE!!!
I made the mistake of not reading this teachers reviews before taking her class. Terrible grader, terrible and lazy lectures, yet expects you to be A1 with your work. STAY FAR AWAY from this mess and take this class with a different professor. If no other professors are available, I would literally wait until next semester or summer... 0/10!!!
Worst professor Ive ever had to deal with. Her assignments were all over the place. New random work would be added on and if you missed it she could care less. Ride in her feedbacks. How is this person still a teacher? Stay away if you want to maintain your sanity.
Terrible teacher!
The toughest grader I've ever met. I ended up with a B but man how much stress did it cost me. Her grading criteria is very strict AND unclear and her feedback is way too vague to be helpful. The only thing I liked about this class were essays- she provided flexible topics and surprisingly enough her feedback on my drafts was specific and thorough
I absolutely loved her classes ( both ENG 101 and 102). If you're trying to actually LEARN how to write better do take this class. If you're just looking for a grade, this class is not for you. You will have to use your head and work hard but also the payoff of being better at writing will be there. Exceptional teacher. Just not for everyone.
This teacher sucks, lacks empathy, and picks favorites.
You will not be able to cruise through this course... But if you put in the work, you will be fine. The reading quizzes are open-book but are still VERY tough. The assignments are tough as well, but, when she gives a list of things she wants in your response... make sure you put all those things in! She gives great feedback on everything you do.
Hardest class I have ever taken, she is the harshest grader and gives so much work. Do not take her class it was horrible.
Not only she is very unclear with what she wants. She also uploads assignments on a saturday night expecting you to turn them in before monday 7pm. The "lectures" are just a few paragraphs with definitions. Then she makes you read a book, give you the wrong page numbers so you have spend time looking for the correct ones.
I recommend not taking her course. This a community college not Ivy League.... She has high expectations but don't prepare students to meet those standards. This is set up... Do not take if this is your first English class. I would never take her class again and happy the semester is over.
Dr. Turner is a good professor and she teaches well. The class is pretty easy IF YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. She gives great feedback, just listen to her feedback you will be fine.
DON'T TAKE. your writing will NEVER meet her expectations. This was the hardest class I have ever taken. I can't even describe the frustration and stress I had while taking this class. Not to mention I had reached out for help and she blew me off by by making me turn in a paper early and then not helping me with it!
This professor is a tough grader in so much as she does not provide clear expectations of how to interpret her instructions. Meeting the criteria of her assignments will not get you points if it doesn't meet her interpretation of what you should be doing in addition to what she explicitly asks for. Her feedback provides no actionable guidance.
The professor absolutely did not give clear instructions on how to write any of the essays. Often it feels that she gives out graved not objectively, but depending on how she feels that day. Received help from the writing center, but after receiving approval from the tutor, I still received poor grades. Would not take her class again.
She is a very tough grader, and heavy workload. All assignments were due at 7pm, even on weekends. Choose a different professor at all cost.
As a student who just finished ESL and took English 101, I'm saying this is the hardest class ever. She expects me to write in English like a professional writer. No sympathy, and never makes positive comments.
This class is really hard because the teacher grades tough. If you don't want to stress about grades a lot, I wouldn't recommend taking this class. The stuff you learn is good, but worrying about grades all the time can make it less fun. If you want something easier, you might want to try a different class.
This class is really hard because the teacher grades tough. If you don't want to stress about grades a lot, I wouldn't recommend taking this class. Don't Take This Class
Never ever take this class. She is really tough grader.
1. impossible grader and expects an insane amount 2. Reached out so many times to zero help 3. I get the vibe she likes to fail kids 4. nothing positive to say ever - I have never believed in leaving a bad review like this and always try to give teachers benefit of the doubt - but in this case, its just really, really, really bad.
Read the reviews its all true, a professor that makes things due in the middle of the week, at 7PM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its just ridiculous the first week had us reading more than 200 pages and the next it had us reading even more!!! Not to mention the design of the online course is awful!!!!!! Immediately dropped and left this review.
This professor does not offer any constructive criticism but will just tell you everything you did wrong. She will regularly make accusations of plagiarism and will harshly grade all assignments. Most students who take her class will not get a very good grade and I think that says more about the professor than it does the students.
Just pick someone else, not even remotely reasonable. Got a B and it took every oz. of effort imaginable. It's not hard material but she makes it as inconvenient and time consuming as possible. Will not explain what you did wrong, bizarre due dates, and unreasonable work load. I'm %100 sure the good reviews are made by her, she seems the type.
Horrible professor. The blackboard is disorganized. Nothing on calendar and inconvenient due dates. You'll have 2 days to read an entire book AND complete multiple assignments. No matter what English level you are she will criticize you and never say anything positive. Its absolutely astonishing she has made it this far in teaching. STAY AWAY.
Do NOT take this class!!!! Even after following all the criteria for the assignments, she will flaw every single thing you put down. The instructions are unclear (ex: discussion boards are 250 words, HOWEVER, bullet points do NOT COUNT.) She treats this as if its Loyola university when its just community college.
she always posts assignments on weekends and has them due Sundays at 7pm and expects us to have them done. Also she gives wrong page numbers on readings for the textbooks and expects us to find the correct pages. Then also gives no examples when it comes to writing essays and does not even tell us what writing criteria she expects.
She gives absolute trash feedback on assignments. The writing assignment details and criteria make no sense and totally confusing to understand. Don't take this course . Unless you want to lose your sanity and peace and always be stress out about your grades she is a tough grader.
Tough teacher and not my favorite but if you only follow her material and turn things in youll pass. That being said her grading was surprisingly harsh and that was frustrating at times
worst educator ive ever encountered. everythings due at 7 pm. due dates too short. too much work. bland assignments. incredibly tough grader. difficult to increase grade after first 2 months. no extra credit. no late credit at all. avoid no matter what. if she is your only option take the class next semester.
Professor Turner is a tough grader, but if you engage with the class and use helpful study tools like Unstuck ai, you can do well. The workload is heavy, but the feedback is detailed. Stay focused and you'll learn a lot.
Ignore all the hate comments. This professor was one of my favorite english professors. She was the best! She was so helpful with me understanding the material. If you schedule appointments and wait for her response times and do everything in a timely manner than you can pass the class. Yes! IT IS A DIFFICULT CLASS. Put in the work, get results.
Please do not take this class. Assignments were scattered with no set pattern, instead she has them due any random day of the week at 7 pm. The assignments were all incredibly confusing and poorly worded, making it harder to understand. She is a tough grader, I got a 7/10 on an assignment which was just a photo and a bit of info on yourself.
Insanely hyper critical on grading even if the student followed provided criteria! Quizzes are impossible to do because she asks super nitpicky details that no one could possibly remember. Very unfair. I was borderline failing the class while putting in 105% effort... If you care about your GPA do NOT take this class. "Awful" is an understatement!
I don't know how this woman still has a job. The only people who take her class ar the ones that did look prior at her reviews. will fail you! DONT TAKE HER CLASS DONT!!!!
Super tough grader. If your paper isn't PERFECT then you won't get a good grade. Gives feedback but she expects you to know everything already.
Worst educator I've ever encountered! If you value your GPA, run! Blackboard is a total mess and impossible to navigate. She even took points off my intro post for uploading a picture—seriously! Everything's due at 7 PM sharp w/ tiny deadlines, no late work, no extra credit. Truly a nightmare class! If she's your only option wait for next semester.
Grades you like you are at Yale, impossible to get anything right in her class. There is now way you can pass as an esl student that just got moved up to eng 101.
Do not take her class
