She's cool. Her lectures are interesting. You may read the book or not and still be able to understand it. I reccomend this class. she's pretty nice, and that mechanic of her testing is good as well.
Really fun class! Lectures are intersting and she frames the test so you do not have to buy the book. check the online links (they help a lot). Stay awake in class and go to workshops.
Kinda quirky but good nevertheless. She doesn't take crap from anybody. She doesn't like talking in her class and will throw you out if you do. I got an A- so anyone can tuff it out!!
Doesn't like talking in her class and does not tolerate cheaters. She is a bug out.. keeps lectures interesting. Don't need to buy the book... just photocopy definitions and you'll be set. Must study and memorize for test!
Way too strict with the technicalities of quiz taking - having a general knowledge of the material is not enough (I thought this was a 1000 level course?). Lectures and workshops are sometimes inconsistent and can confuse, she doesn't care though.
Listen, she gives you the review sheets for all exams in the beginning of the term. The least you should get is an A-. But go to those workshops...although i think they are a foolish way to determine your final grade. I think she's cool though
the quizzes are given to you the first day of class. all you have to do is look up the terms and go over the essays. plus she gives really good lectures that are interesting. read the book too. jus do the work!
She is ok. You won't be that bored. Sometime it is pretty interesting. Over all she is 6.5/10
She was ok, i found the lcass quite boring many times. But if you don't liek reading if you pay attention in class you get 95% of the answers straight out of her mouth. if you out line your ideas for the eassya before hand you will do great.
She doesn't make life tought for you. She could be a bit disorganized and her exams are pretty easy, but you don't know what she really wants for the answer. She's cool with you if you're cool with her. Interesting and boring class at the same time.
Really good professor. Gives excellent lectures that really help you out on the quizzes. You still need to buy the book to help you with the essays. Extremely nice and has a sense of humor. Definitely take her. You actually learn some interesting stuff.
An honest wonderful human being with a wealth of knowledge on music, art and history. The only disappointment i had with the class is that it was too short, i was hoping the class would go more in depth(one can only hope for so much in a 1000 level class)
Amazing teacher. Incredibly witty and hiliarious. highly recommended.
Easy course, easy A, if you do all the quizes and go to workshops. But she is a tough lady
She is good and interesting, She is cool and will have you on the edge of your sit. She is funny and very serious. Hint: no matter what DON'T TALK IN HER CLASS
she is the worst teacher i've ever met in my whole life. She is teaching music, and she makes it so hard, she thinks music is the most imporatnt class in college.she is a very hard grader....
i wouldnt reccomend wollman, shes moody and not a very stable person, if your late, shell pounce on you like michal jackson on a 8 yr old. i suggest going for another prof
She knows her subject. Large class, but don't fool around, she takes no prisoners. I recommend her.
There are 5 quizzes all easy as she gives out the study guides beforehand. She is really great, funny and interesting. However if you are one of those who's always late or tend to talk in class, take someone else, because she'll rip you apart!
well i just got a D in this class, and i have 2 say, to those who need to fufill their core, dont take this class. you need to go to workshops and the whole grade depends on quizzes...5 of them. so take another teacher or even better, another course!
This teacher doesn;t even deserve the title "professor." She has a foul mouth and gives out difficult quizzes. I studied all year long and I got a C to show for it. Vary unstable, and has constant mood swings.
You gotta go to these stupid POINTLESS workshops that confuse you more then they help you. She flips out on random people especially if they come in late. The quizzes are not that hard, but you still gotta put in effort if you want to pass.
Very knowlegeable.I took the class for prereq.but I liked it a lot.Grow up reviewers below! You're in a bus. school, can't you learn to manage your time and your mouth? She takes students to see a FREE Broadway Show!!She even gave me an extra ticket for my mom when some ppl didn't show up! Very nice
Great professor. But not easy- not a blow off course. But she's funny, makes class interesting, loves the material and you will learn. Gives 5 quizzes, first is hard but they get easier. USE THE MESSAGE BOARD, it will help a lot. Also, go talk to her- she's awesome and will help if you need it.

Please do no take this B..... She is one s....
She is kinda scattered with her material, and a not an easy grader, but she will do anything she can to help.
She is funny and sensitive at the same time. She is also strict with lateness, leaving class early, and talking in class. There are 5 quizzes and workshops are not required. She'a hard-grader but, I didn't buy the book. I just came to class and took notes and went on the internet and looked some info and music up. I passed the quizzes.
She's a good professor, BUT you have to work hard for an A. She is fair in grading, and a good person. ONLY 5 quizzes (questions given in advance) it's very important to do good on them because there is NO midterm/final/project/extra credit to boost your grade. Music sucks, but she does a good job explaining it. Be prepared to work if you take her!
Grade is based on five quizzes. She's a tough grader. Gives you all the questions to study. Really into classical music and makes the class entertaining. Tough grader, don't lose points on the quizes, its gonna hurt in the end. Always available to help. This is an Easy B+ class, to get an A, you have to prepare in advance
One of the best profs i've had. I don't understand how students can write that she's a tough grader if she gives you ALL the exam questions in the beginning of the year. I prepared the answers to the exam while she taught. Being a senior, it was a great class to have at 9:30 in the morning.
This is a very good teacher. Kinda funny, acts like a college student (and doesn't look corny doing that). This is a good teacher to have especially if its your first year.
Professor Wollman is very good. This course also is my first A in my fisrt year in college. ^_^
I'm not a big fan of world music but prof. Wollman was easy going and entertaining. she made the class unboring and was very helpful. However, she does not give make up exam so be there! Final, 1 midterm, 1 in-class presentation, and 1 concert report. She was one of the easiest and best prof at Baruch. Psych!!
Professor Wollman is one of the many interesting Professors I have encountered. Great Professor and highly recommended for those who intend to learn with fun. Though you have to be careful about your grade.
She is a nice lady. She gives all quiz questions before hand. This class is more about memorizing then learning. If memorizing is not your thing don't take her, if your good at it then this class is for you. You learn about all types of music in this class. You must attend a workshop before every "quiz". She calls them quizes but they are test.
She is great. After mus 1001 where the quizes are hard. She is a fun person and is funny. I love her classes where students can choose to participate. TAKE HER
Professor rocks! Though this wasn't her area of expertise per se she did a good job of teaching, its obvious music is her passion and that rubbed off on the class. Two exams and two papers. Easy exam grader but very anal about grammar when it comes to papers. If writing isn't your forté you might consider another class. Other than that super cool.
posts the exact questions from the quizzes on blackboard on the first day of class. email her your answers for her to check before the quizzes and she tells you what to fix. dont be late though, she embarasses u in front of the class. takes random attendance with class work and adds a nice curve to grade with that
Very good teacher. Easy and helpful. Definetely take her!!!

Prof. Wollman is one of the best teachers I ever had. She's very passionate about music and she is able to transfer that interest to you. I really enjoyed her classes. She's very funny, sometimes sarcastic. Tests(5) are given in the beginning of semester. You can write your answers and send to her a day before the test to check.Highly recommended!
If you are smart enough to be minoring in music to boost up your GPA. Wollman is not for you. She may be good for preparing you for Tomasello's capstone. Her class is fun, she does not cover everything for each term that she asks for n is rather unclear with what she is looking for on her exams. Must be willing to look up the info on your own time
Best professor and amazing class. One midterm and one final-- she gives you the questions in advance for both. One theater paper and one final paper on the topic of your choice. Very interesting and fun class. She's very lively and makes you want to be there every day.
Awesome prof, she's so funny, took her for Mus Theatre last sem, only 2 papers, midterm and final, and she is so detailed and organized, you couldn't possibly be lost in her class. And no book only a required website, which saved me some $, if you're lucky enough to take her, do it! even if the hour is inconvenient, do it! I did, and I loved her!
Very unstable mood. If you wan't just to fulfil core requirements don't take her class. It's not worth, unless you are really into music. beware of listening quizzes.
Shes awesome! Just listen up and take notes and you'll do fine!
vERY eASY A...GIVES YOU ALL OF THE 5 TESTS THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS WITH DEF AND LIKE 2 SMALL ESSAY QUES ON EACH...WILL ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THEM SPECIFICALLY...ALL YOU DO IS MEMERIZE!!! WOW!! VERY NICE TOO
Great Professor!I like her system, you know exactly what you have to study for the test. Also there are workshops, which are very helpful, espacially if you are not sure about the listening section. The professor explains the material in a very good way. Also if you come up to her or Email her with questions, definitely the professor will help you.
excellent professor take her
Very clear and easy to understand. She tries her best to make this course interesting. Very adorable woman.
She teaches clearly, and if you pay attention you will learn. She is also very friendly and allows students to incorporate their knowledge/ideas into the class. I would definately recommend her, even if you're not interested in music, take her courses. You will enjoy them.
Professor Wollman Rocks!! Do the required assignments, take good notes, and study! Very straightforward class & the Prof. works hard to help the students. If you put in 100%, you will be rewarded. If u BS, u have no one but yourselves to blame! Take her class and you will not be disappointed. Also, she's very funny!
By far the best Professor I have had at Baruch. You know exactly the questions that are on the test and all you need to do is look at the responses put up on bb and your on your way to an A!!!
Best class I've taken! She gives you the tests at the beginning of the semester and she explains everything really well so there is no excuse for getting a bad grade in her class.
NO EXTRA CREDITS (such as participation, attendence etc.) she only averages your score, and that's your final grade. 5 TESTS (10%,15%,25%,25%,25%)...and what she does is 100 divdided by the score you earned from those 5 exams...Test is not easy (esp. listening part), but if you study ,it'll be fine.
Yes, I agree. Professor Wollman realy Rocks!! She is the best teacher in baruch. And I was lucky enough in spring 2007 to have her as professor. She is extremely helpful and respectful. If you,Professor, read the site, Know that your students love you.
My favorite professor. She was entertaining, and a lil funny. The class is straight to the point. She gives you the tests before anything, and tells you exactly what will be required. I also enjoyed a lot of the music played in this class. If you ever have the chance, do yourself a favor, and take her class.
Has a great personality but lectures are boring. I'm not a huge theater person (but I enjoy it). You probably have to be really into theater to find this class interesting. Theater paper was easy. Midterm coming up and Ive spent the last 2 hours looking up all the terms on the review sheet. This is a selftaught class. Class notes wont really help.
very interesting professor. she is quirky and its cool. don't talk EVER while she is lecturing, will embarass u. tests are fair, teaching style is very down to earth. uses blackboard, 5 tests, no final exam, she is one of the best teachers at Baruch even tho some classes were dull, there will definitely be some moments of laughter. knows her stuff
She is great and a lot of fun. Classes are interesting. She is not pushy. Easy grader. Did not have to buy books but had to go for a musical.
amazing professor. fair grader, take notes and you won't have to read the text. really funny and knows what she's talking about. definitely a must take!
if your looking for an easy A, do not take her. you will have to study, but if you put in the effort youll be fine
Not an easy A. Not an easy A-. No matter how hard you study she will take points off your test and each point is a point of your final grade. She does not even give you full participation grade. gives almost everyone 3/5 points. The class itself is not much work but listening section on test is hard.
Very good teacher. Not easy, but a very fair grader, there is some wiggle room on the tests. Do the reading, attend class, participate, follow instructions and you'll be fine.
AHHHHHHHHHHH GPA KILLER STAY AWAY!! It's not worth it, what a waste of a class...
You get the questions before hand for every test, use discussion board to get answers, try and memorize to your best ability, come to class every time. If you are a good crammer and show atleast some interest, i don't see why getting an A is any hard.
As others have said, definitely not an easy A. She does give a review sheet for every exam but the hardest part for most people is the listening portion, so beware. Overall she's a fair grader and you'll get what you deserve.
Indeed. She gives review sheets befor exam, but she takes off points every time. You have to memorize everything. Listening part is soooo hard. Not a easy class.
Professor Wollman can be a great teacher at times. However, she takes points off of the most useless items on the exam. This class is more of a memorize all the facts instead of music appreciation class. Either way, take at your own risk, GPA killer on the loose.
She has rules, follow the rules. She gives you all of the tests ahead of time, use the discussion boards to get the answers. Pay attention, show up for class, and study. A lot of people here seem to think that everything should be an easy A. Its college you have to work for your grades. the workload for this class is low, relatively speaking.
Well, she takes this class way to seriously. She is a good teacher of the subject and its history, but teaches way too many things not on tests. If you put in the effort, and work hard in this class, you may get anA. However slouching with her will not work.In my opinion take someone else, but if you want to work hard+study hard for this A take her
Overall, she is great professor in teaching. She is neither easy grader nor hard grader. She is very serious about class and wants you to be serious. Don't mess with her. However, she is helpful and good human being.
KEEP AWAY!!! she will kill your GPA...her tests are extremely hard..she is a very hard grader
She is a great professor. The class is extremely easy. Dint study anything troughout the year but go on blackboard one day before read the essays, write everything on the test and voila you have an awesome grade. She gives you all the tests at the beginning of the semester. and there are three essays you will be given one. Really easy. Take her
She's very energetic and keeps the lecture interesting with her side comments here and there. She gives 5 quizzes and that's it. No Homework. You need the textbook and attendance is not mandatory but it's best if you go whenever you can. Try not to be late or she will have a fit.
I like her and her tests are timed except the final. I did kinda low on the tests but it's my fault she was great.
An amazing teacher. She keeps the class interested and teaches with passion. Take her and you will definitely learn things that you will appreciate. She is really helpful on blackboard. You can copy if you like, but the book helps too if you're not a cheater (like me, for example). A medium grader, as far as i can say. Highly recommended!
A GREAT professor. She has so much passion and excitement for what she does and it rubs off on her students. I've seen people that had no prior interest in music whatsoever get really into class. 5 tests. She gives you a review sheet and then chooses terms/essays from that. Listening section can be challenging. I had an amazing experience, TAKE HER
straightforward prof.gives 5 tests and gives a review sheet for each test on the 1st day w/ the same questions as the test.some did bad in her class b/c we only studied the night before the test.she a strict grader so all the minus point add up and hurt ur grade.the listenin section takes time to get better but u HAV to study a little ahead of time
Lectures are very helpful and she is sometimes funny. 5 easy tests with essay questions given beforehand but the listening section is always difficult. Try not to be late for lectures because she will make a big deal out of it. Her class really make me appreciate Baroque and Classical music for real.
Awesome class she gave us the test before just learn what she tells you to in class and you will be fine
I was honestly dreading this class after taking Music Appreciation in High School. Professor Wollman made me actually like this class. She's so funny and she doesn't tell you anything that you don't need to know. She posts the study sheets to all the tests on blackboard at the beginning of the semester. Take her for MSC 1003!!
Highly recommended IF you can work hard. You will learn A LOT about music, just don't miss a class - NEVER be late - pay attention, listen carefully, take notes and you'll get a good grade. She's very helpful as she gives tests beforehand and checks answers on blackboard. Don't slack off, or sleep, else you're gonna suffer.
Wonderful professor! She is fun, direct, a little strict (but in a good way) and wants her students to learn a lot about music. She is bubbly and it never gets boring in her class. She is very straight forward and her tests are easy when you study for them. She offers to review your answers for the test before the actual test and gives feedback.
she is unbelievable. funny, helpful and knowledgeable. you will never forget the names of composers because of the funny stories and humor. she will make even a boring class fun. exams are easy and you have review sheets in advance. she is great take her. you have to sweat on listening part but it's quite manageable.
Highly recommended if you can work hard. Very passionate about her subject, teaches very well, you won't be bored. 5 tests, not cumulative with all questions known prior to tests. Listen in class, read the book, you'll be good.
Take at your own risk. She only gives quizzes and that's your grade for the class including attendance. This class is all about memorization. Plus she doesn't believe in extra credit.
Hands down worse professor I've had thus far. Digressive lecturer, impossible grader, very strict attendance policy. She treats latecomers as if they insulted her family. Like many said, GPA killer. Avoid at all costs
Opinions of her are polarized - many students have very different opinions of her. My opinion is that she is one of the best teachers I've ever had at Baruch. Take a role in class discussion and you'll go far. She's challenging in the best way. She's a fair grader, which is why students who have low grades rate her poorly here. Excellent prof.
My biggest problem with the class was the listening. It was impossible. I would get a 100 on the content on every test and all my hard work would go down the drain because the listening counts from 33% to 50% of each test. Sure, she gives you the review sheets before, but then she just grades impossibly. As a person she is rude and mean. NO LATE.
She is a really tough grader, and gives no extra credit. Gives 5 tests with review sheets, but need to work hard to keep a good grade, especially on the listening part. Doesn't let anyone in class if late. If you think you're going to get a good grade because its a music class, think again!
NOT AN EASY CLASS. I warned you. The listening section is a killer, and get ready to memorize composers and their compositions. Professor Wollman is hysterical, tough, and very particular. DO NOT BE LATE. She WILL lock you out. No extra credit and basically a GPA killer if your memory sucks like mine.
This class becomes such a burden if you take her. I could compare it to a 3000 level courseload. Put it this way, I received an A in calculus and only a B in her class and I put the same amount of effort into both classes. Listening is absurdly difficult. She is extremely rude and very tough and there is nothing funny about it. Dont be late.
DO NOT TAKE HER! I have a 3.5 GPA and i can't believe i got a C in this class. I'm an accounting major and i've put in more time in this class than other accounting classes. AVOID AT ALL COST! Take other music professors. Take Art! It is so much better.
I'll keep this brief. If you are willing to listen to old classical pieces of music for 30 minutes a class, deal with a teacher who will nag you to death for being a few minutes late, have points taken off your test for the silliest things, and have your gpa crushed... Well heres the class for you
She's nice. She over the top with her lectures. She posts the terms to study for before the semester begins. She replies to her emails and is willing to help. No homework, just readings. Her tests are really hard. It's a lot to remember. No OK how she complains about everyone being late, but lets one student get away with it multiple times.
Professor Wollman was my favorite teacher in my first semester of college. She was really funny and it was the only class I did not feel like falling asleep. She gives 5 tests that are multiple choice and short response with a listening section in which you usually have to memorize the composer and the title of it. There is no extra credit.
Her class is really easy and can even be somewhat interesting. She teaches the history of music and it isn't the most exciting music but it's okay. She does pick favorites so be sure to get on her good side and she does not excuse lateness. Other than that if you pay attention in class and brush up 10 minutes before class it's an easy A.
Professor Wollman does an excellent job at making colorful lectures. She is funny and really passionate about her subject. Arriving on time is important for her class. If you are late, you need to tell her after class. Listen carefully to her lectures to do well on the exams. She covers everything in class and on review sheets.
She is a pretty fair teacher. The only thing is its a hard class. You cannot pass this class without studying. Your whole grade is based on tests. I never expected for one of my hardest classes to be music. Definitely did not enjoy it.
As a professor, she was incredibly funny and easy to talk too. The class is made up of 5 tests (10,15,20,25,25 points each), and 5 points participation. For each test, she posts a study sheet and each music piece on the test is gone over at length during the class. Her lectures are funny, and she is very chill unless you are on your phone or talkin
Pretty tough. She always gives a review sheet before each exam (2 exams total) that gives you all the terms that she's gonna test you on and 5 essay questions (3 of which show up on the exam(of which you have to pick 1)). Overall was an interesting class though, I really liked a lot of the music and cultures we learned about.
Lectures are pretty boring; I fell asleep pretty much everyday. Class is only graded on 5 non-cumulative exams, which can be pretty hard unless you can study extremely well. No extra credit is given, so if you mess up on any exams, you'll get a grade lower than what you want. Professor is super strict about lateness and phone/laptop use.
She grades on just 5 non cumulative tests, but she gives all test reviews at the beginning of the semester for all tests. She is very helpful and will look over your notes if you ask, nothing comes as a surprise because she literally goes over everything. The only downside, she gives multiple music pieces to learn and only chooses 1-2 for testing.
Goes over everything just need to pay attention only hard part is the many music pieces for the quizzes.
Worst Music Teacher ever! I would not recommend taking her. Her attitude is terrible and would call you out if you are late or have a electronic!
The class has 5 non-cumulative test that is based on the test reviews she gives at the beginning of the semester. I got an A in the class but you have to put a lot of effort in. It was my hardiest class during the semester but did make me stronger in the music subject.
I hate her class, it's extremely boring. She has an attitude and 95% of grade is based off 5 tests.
Her lectures are pretty boring (and she knows it, so it's okay to sleep), but her tests are pure memorization. Pay as much attention in class as you can and review the material she posts online and you'll be fine.
5 non-cumulative exams, no homework, no projects, and no quizzes. Everything that's on the exams is always covered in class and there's always a listening section (she gives out approximately 7-13 songs to study and tests on 1-2 of them). Overall, this is a class that you need to be meticulous in. You need to work for the A, but it's not impossible
The class is pretty much all based on memorization. It's based on 5 tests (which she does give review sheets for), and 5 points of participation. I fell asleep during most of her lectures, but I recorded them to listen to later. She is pretty nice except when it comes to talking and electronics use, she won't hesitate to call you out on it.
She tries her best to make her lectures fun but won't penalize you if you fall asleep. You need to memorize a lot of vocab words for tests (which she gives you review sheets for at the beginning of the semester). There's 5 Tests which all have a review sheet. DO NOT TALK IN HER CLASS OR CHEAT She is very strict about that, also, NO PHONES IN CLASS
Amazing professor. Very strict but knows what she's doing and makes the material very easy to understand. 5 tests and a very helpful review sheet for each test. Don't use your phone or laptop and don't talk in her class. Attend class and you'll know exactly what to study for and what you don't need to study for. Also don't cheat; she will catch you
Your grade is based on the five tests she gives throughout the semester. She gives reviews for all of the exams but the hard part is trying to memorize all the musical compositions. NO phones, NO talking, NO cheating, Don't even smile because she will be offended. Luckily she's cool with falling asleep in the class. You don't need the textbook.
There are 5 tests, but as long as you study you should be good. At times the lectures can be somewhat boring but overall she's a great teacher who cares for her students. No HW either.
Professor Wollman is really enthusiastic about her topic. Sometimes she's way too political when discussing the history of pop music but sometimes it's justified. Overall a good brief overview of the history of pop music
NOT AN EASY A! There are 5 exams and you'll have to study hard core for them but she gives you a study guide. You can tell that she's passionate about the subject but no talking, eating, or phones/laptop during lectures. Don't even think about cheating cuz she's def gonna catch you. Only take if you have the time to study.
Amazing lady. helped graduate I was short by one credit and she allowed me to do an independent study on Music & Retail. I can't thank her enough as well she was so understanding and helpful.
Professor Wollman was great. Just come to class and take notes and you should be fine. There are five tests which she gives you a review sheet before each one which helps a lot. Beware about phone usage in class cause she's strict about and don't even bother cheating cause she will catch you.
The syllabus is extremely clear and easy to follow. Tests are fair and easy if you listen to lectures. There is a textbook but not necessary if to read if you pay attention in class. If you accept her cringey humor, you'll find yourself enjoying the class and getting an easy A.
She is one of the most annoying professors I've ever had. She took this basic elective way too seriously when no one cared. Her tests were hard and she gave too many pop quizzes.
Professor Wollman is a really nice person. Her class sessions are completely optional as she posts all the lecture notes and class notes online on blackboard. As far as the testing goes, they're decent and ways to manage. They're always multiple-choice but not a lot of time in my opinion. But overall, I would definitely recommend taking her classs.
Literally only had one encounter with Prof. Wollman. After the introductory Zoom call, all of her classes were asynchronous with optional review sessions once a week. In total she gave 5 assignments (all were exams on content she provided notes for). Idk how she is in person but as long as you read the notes and take the exams its an easy A.
5 tests, test add up to 100, (Test 1- 15 points, Test 2 - 20 points, etc.) Just study for the tests and you'll get an easy A.
This Professor is honestly very passionate about her class. She is nice I wont lie. However, she takes too serious an elective class and makes you read about music when this is not even my major. I had to worry about this class even when taking hard core classes. Take it if u want to read A LOT!
She talks a lot but goes off and rambles. One of the most boring Professors you can take for IDC. Do not take her for Feit Seminar.
Professor Wollman genuinely cares and is excited by the music history she teaches and it comes off in her class. She encourages participation and only graded us on 4 really straightforward quizzes taken throughout the semester. Pretty solid choice.
You're given the option whether you want to treat the class as synchronous or asynchronous. Graded only on five exams in which she provides you the readings for. Just be sure to actually read them and place heavy emphasis on the bolded terms. Great professor who is actually enthusiastic about what she teaches. Highly recommend. Easy A
Gives you the option to attend class or not. Just make sure to read the readings she uploads because the tests are solely based on the readings so if you dont read, you wont pass since she times the tests and you wont know what its about. Shes passionate about what she teaches though and shes chill. Easy grade if you take notes on readings.
she was honestly great. i had her twice a week and only one of those days there was a meeting. she posts a lot of recordings i would say definitely take notes but u dont have to attend the class or participate she doesnt really care. all u need to do is review the notes before the test and make notes on the videos. she gives multiple test attempt
A great teacher. Cares about students and understands how sometimes one cannot attend the lecture. So she made the class asynchronous if needed. Tests are not cumulative which means they are much easier. Have extra participation points if you did badly on those tests, go get them!
The class consist of 5 test only. The test were so easy and her notes for them has all the answers. Class is supposed to be Synchronous, but she gave us the option to treat it as Asynchronous. If your taking this class as a requirement and want an easy A, take professor Wollman.
Although the class was synchronous, attendance wasn't mandatory. She posts all the notes and videos on Blackboard. Responds very quickly to email. Overall, an easy class and easy exams if you review her notes beforehand.
Her lectures may be all over the place, but the assignments are very clear cut and extremely easy. There's a "say hi" post, 2 blog posts, a propaganda post, and a final project. She gives you options on each blog post and it only needs to be 2-4 pgs. The final "project" is whatever you choose to do. Just get an OK from the prof before submitting.
Wednesday-only class that was hybrid, so you could either go in-person or stay online. Professor tends to ramble but the course work is easy. You post everything on the class blog and get to make your own final project. It could be a paper, a podcast, a play. Anything goes, just get it approved beforehand. Easiest class I've taken.
you could go to class inperson, on zoom, or not at all. graded by 5 quizzes that were short and simple. just read the cheat sheets she gives and you can pass the class with an A easily. I went to 1 of the classes and she seemed really fun and chill. super easy class and great professor.
Super easy class, attendance could be in person, online, or asynchronous. She's easygoing and really cares about the material she teaches. Lectures are interesting for music lovers. No homework, just keep up with the notes she posts and study them for the 5 tests. They're online and super fair, just be aware of the time limit.
Attendance isn't mandatory, you meet once a week, either online or in person. Posts all notes online, which the tests are based on. You are only graded on 5 tests but they aren't hard, just make sure to keep in mind the time limit as it can creep up on you. Class is an easy A and she is passionate, class can be a bit boring sometimes but recommend.
Easiest class ever only 5 online quizzes throughout the semester, she posts all the notes online and attendance isn't mandatory. You literally have to try to fail her class. I can't really say much about her personality cause I never went to class, but if you want an Easy A this is definitely the class to take.
Professor Wollman is one of the best professors at Baruch. Graded by 3 blogs post, a midterm and final and she gives you a study sheet to prepare. Attendance is not mandatory. Take her you will not regret it.
Professor Wollman's MSC1003 class is a great option for an easy A. The lectures are engaging, and she makes the material accessible even for non-music lovers. With no homework and fair exams focused on her notes, this class is a breeze. unstuck AI was a lifesaver for test prep.
Very easy professor for credit. I had 5 quizzes which were online.
super easy A. all material posted on brightspace, attendance is optional and if u do attend class you get extra credit. 5 exams for the entire semester and those r ur only grades but all take home. very simple straightforward questions you can find on the lessons she posts. no hw too. teacher is kind and willing to help if have any questions.
She's nice and passionate about what she teaches. This class is definitely a GPA booster if you put in the work! Attendance is optional but you get extra credit for going 50% of the semester. Grade is made up of 5 quizzes (all online, can be taken wherever and anytime before 11:59 the day it's due). The quizzes are based on online notes.
If you want a free A take this class. You don't have to show up to class, and if you do she's very chill and passionate about what she talks about. If you do decide to go to class you get extra credit just for showing up. 5 online quizzes that make up your grade but they are online and pretty easy tbh. FREE A
Easiest class I've ever taken in my life. If for whatever reason you have a valid reason to take this music class, do it. Literally would have to try to get below an A.
She is great, just talk to much a whole hour she just talking.
Very rude. If you leave to use bathroom during class she will make a scene in front of everyone. Can't speak to your peers about notes or she will call you out. Call you out if laptops are open even though there's notes that need to be taken. Needed this for credit but would have taken another elective. She has kids, she should understand patience.
She's so chill, I loved her. Gives one easy test online every two weeks. Don't need to show up to pass but she's a great teacher plus you get extra credit if you go. Very easy grader. If you can take her you should!!!
I disagree with the reviews saying she is boring. I think she does her best to make her class engaging. attendance wasn't even mandatory for me. 5 quizzes fully online. Extra credit for attending class and participating. If you study just one day before the quizzes you're good to go. Practically a free A.
free a if u want to take music for gpa boost 5 quizes all online attendance not mandatory
go to every class so you can get 5 extra credit points added to grade (88 turns into 93). class is graded on 5 quizzes, all at home online. they are not very easy so make sure to not go into it with overconfidence. people in class were complaining to her on how they thought it was an easy A, but the A was gone by the 3rd quiz. very doable A though.
Easy A class. Online, No attendance, Exams were also online and as long as you read the material at least once it was easy to pass. Prof was a super nice person who actually taught the material well.
