Great Teacher but you do have to put the time in and do the work. She's always willing to answer questions and explain them. Reviews before the test which is extremely helpful. It's a grade you will earn and not be given, but she's great at explaining how to do the problems.
goes quickly and gets a little testy if you correct her but over all good teacher. thought i could never do algebra (tried 3 times) and had to drop everytime but passed with a B. attend class and take notes and youll do fine.
Awesome at explaining it to you. Maple sucks tho so I end up getting the tutor centers help... I could pass by going to the tutor center and not going to class. Multiple choice test. Agree with the person who said she could get testy.
Very straightforward and to the point. She only teaches what we have to know. She is also a high school teacher, so she teaches like one but for a math class that is helpful because she'll make she that everyone understands. MAPLE quizzes are a pain though! they seem to be never ending
good teacher. lessons are planned out and she is organized. she gives reviews for the tests which make getting A's easy. didnt use the book at all, since all HW is internet based and she plans lessons around exact problems from Maple. even if you think you might use the book, you wont, save your $$. i would recommend her and would take her again.
Great teacher! had her in high school and now in college. She is very clear with her teaching and I never had to open the book. She gives great notes and study guides for each test. She jokes around and makes the class fun. Take her if you can!
This is a really easy class if you pay attention and keep notes. She is a great teacher and I understood the material 100%. Aced all her tests and the final.
I really enjoyed her class. She was very clear and very helpful. If you do all your homework and study, her tests are easy in comparison.
Excellent instructor! I HATE MATH but, had her for MAT 1033 and this course. Would prefer her clear, concise instruction over any other!
MUST TAKE! If you struggle with math she is the professor for you. She teaches everything step by step. I got an A!!
Took this Trig Class in a 6 week term. A lot of info given in such a short time. Will love her teaching methods. She gives you exactly what is needed on the tests. Homework assigned is graded and is good prep for the exams. Takes time to answer any questions. Knows her material in and out. Would definitely take with her again.
One of the best math teachers at irsc, she has no problem to stop the class just to make sure that everyone understands. She is super kind and is concerned that her students understand what they're doing!
She's a tough grader but she's a great professor. There is a lot of work to do outside of class but nothing too hard to handle. You get lots of credit for doing and it helps a TON in preparing for the tests. I love her teaching style. She has a tough personality but she really does care and want you to succeed. Highly recommend!
She is the perfect math teacher. Lots of examples. Creates study guides that are almost exactly like the test. she doesnt try ton confuse you. she straightforward. answers and questions and makes sure that everyone understands. I would suggest her to anyone.
I absolutely love Mrs Zeiss !! Best math professor I've ever had. I am not very good in math but after this course my confidence in math has improved. I understand a lot more material and she has such a good way of teaching so that all her students understand !
I love Professor Zeiss! I'm really horrible with math, and I had her for MAC1114. Trig is hard, and she knows that, and helps you understand. She's very clear, helpful, and hilarious! She does use mathlab, but that's just helpful for your grade. You have to work for your grade, but it's worth it with her as a professor.
6-7 sections per 3 chapt. tests are written response & provides study guides. Homework &quizzes are online. Loads of formulas to memorize. No extra credit. Provides help but I had to hire a tutor too. I studied 5 days in advance for a 75%(hard class). She's amazing at teaching it &enthusiastic. Take her if needed for credit as she explains clearly.
The class is at a great pace! shes very organized, gives lots of reminders on due dates, if you do everything she asks you'll defintly pass the class. Would take the class again with her.
I am no math wiz and Professor Zeiss made it easy to understand. I would take her for any and all math courses. She made class enjoyable and the workload was not heavy at all. As long as you do your work you will pass with an A. The test are easy as she gives a study guide prior to the exam.
Great teacher. Clearly explains things in class. Do your homework on time and do the test reviews and you will get a good grade in the class. -plane trigonometry
One of the best math teachers I've ever had. Mrs. Zeiss is hilarious and wants her students to pass, she has her office hours available so if you need help before a test you'll be set. Just do the homework and follow her study completely, trust me. Best teacher, would definitely take again!
Professor Zeiss was professional and caring all in one. She encourages questions and makes sure everyone understands. She usually has end of class (sometimes open-book)quizzes which counts towards attendance. She is amazing with study guides. Very good about due dates, reminders. She thrives to help all students pass. The pace was just right.
Amazing teacher for business calc! Gives great note outlines, super helpful study guides for tests, and tons of extra credit opportunities (including test retakes). She was always available during office hours when I needed extra help on assignments. Definitely recommend! Was a fairly easy A if you actually put in the effort and show up to class
Dr. Zeiss is a great teacher! She makes you work in groups, so that everyone can help each other, and she goes around making sure everyone is understanding the material. The textbook is mandatory and she's pretty straightforward with the way she grades. Some of the other material is online, but she helps and gives extra credit too! Would take again
Professor Zeiss is amazing. I was terrified to take Trig but she really knew how to break it down. Very organized, great lectures, and study guides to help get ready for tests. No problem getting questions answered in class. Working in groups is a big thing in her class. Always willing to help outside of class too! Extra Credit available.
Professor Zeiss is a hard worker and very funny. Math is not my favorite but I understand it and the worksheets she provides are very helpful because she goes step by step because its related to the homework .
She is the best math teacher at IRSC. Very organized and understanding.
Professor Zeiss is the best math professor. Although there's a ton of homework she's always there to help with homework and quizzes. She also has a lot of extra credit to help your grade. She's the type of professor to do everything to help you pass.
Prof. Zeiss outlines everything required to pass the course. She's organized, gives study guide and chances to earn extra credit. Attendance and homework required to be successful.
Zeiss' teaching style is she does easy problems really slow than puts harder ones on the exam. The homework is through MyMathLab which in itself is a frustrating grading system. There are questions where it will mark you right but you are in fact correct. The only personal issue I have is Zeiss tends to be that she is very rude and quite insulting.
I am an older student and haven't taken math in years. I was very scared and left math for the very last. Prof. Zeiss was very encouraging. She gave many opportunities to earn extra credit. she explained problems that could not be understood. I feel confident and I am ready to continue with my other math classes. Easy to pass her class.
She was beyond one of the best teachers I've had. I would take her for every math course if I could. Homework was easy, always gave extra credit for tests, tests were extremely easy. Helped students who needed extra help and never left a student behind.
Professor Zeiss was of the best math teachers I ever had. If you hate math and struggle she is the professor for you ! She's really nice and wants you to understand. She gives great notes and explains everything step by step. I wish all math teachers taught like her.
Had her for trig, she taught it well, however her tests are super hard. Her final was easy. Mymathlab is frustrating like always. I got a B in the class thanks to her final. If you skip class you can't do the homework, and then you will fail the test. Also when people ask questions she'll make jokes that come off as mean. Still, very GREAT teacher
I've always struggled with math and Professor Zeiss has changed the game!! I feel so much more confident going on to Calculus 1. Show up to class, do HW and quizzes on MML (don't procrastinate!! assignments are very time consuming) Definitely recommend taking her.
She is amazing and I enjoyed her for Trig! There was one homework assignment for each section of the three chapters which was doable (don't procrastinate). There are three quizzes for each chapter that you can take twice. If you get an 85% on a quiz or higher she boosted that test grade ten points, whole letter grade. You use MyMathLab not textbook
Awesome professor, allows you use one 3x5 index card each time on a test with any notes and what not on it. Extra credit for score certain score on quiz, along with extra credit for group members completing their portfolios. Also she super funny.
She is so funny. She was very patient and kind as well. You may not still understand a certain question but she'll explain it very well. Makes clear explanations. I was just upset I couldn't take her again.
Professor Zeiss is one of the best best math professors at IRSC. One can say there's a ton of homework but she's always there to help with homework and quizzes. She also has a lot of extra credit to help your grade. if you did not do an assignment she will give u a chance do do it. She's the type of professor that cares if you pass.
She was funny and helpful, only issue I could see is if you have trouble telling when people are joking. She jokes a lot, not to say she isn't serious. If you need help she's there, and as long as you do the work you'll be fine.
Zeiss is funny and care-free. She cares for her students to learn and pass the class with an A.
Gave clear expectations for entire class.
She is so kind and caring. Had her for a summer class and she she was always available for help and offers it all the time. You will def be using the textbook but she goes step by step with you and shows you how to work out problems. She is also so funny and humble along with very honest. 10/10
Professor Zeiss is very thorough and gives tons of opportunities to ask questions if you don't understand something. I recommend her and hope to take another Math class with her again!
Elizabeth Zeiss is an amazing teacher. She helps you with whatever you need and more, shes always making you laugh as you're getting your work done. I passed the class and I wish to take her again if I could. GREAT TEACHER !!!
Ms. Zeiss was clear and understanding when it came to our class assignments. She was lenient with our grades and gave extra credit for our group projects
awesome teacher very chill willing to explain as much as you need she reviews before a test if you need it
Mrs. Zeiss was easy class as long as you kept up with the class, she was easy to understand, very clear on her directions. Super easy class
Mrs. Zeiss is by fare one of the best math teachers at IRSC. She's very kind, patient, helpful, organized, and did I mention funny?!! I wish she was teaching MGF2106/2107 but unfortunately she's not. I would definitely recommend her!
Professor Zeiss is a really caring teacher. i'm not that really good with math but she is very helping and understanding go to class everyday do all your homework and quizzes on Connect Math and you should pass the course.
If you have an opportunity to take Professor Zeiss, take her! By far my favorite teacher!
I'm not someone whom is comfortable with math normally The Professor explaining and provided every opportunity for me to succeed in this class. I'm normally someone whom prior to this class avoided math for the better part of my college career, The Professor gave me the tools, knowledge and confidence to succeed. Highly recommended!
Elizabeth Zeiss is one of the most amazing math teachers I have had in all of my years of education. Her tests are extremely easy and there is always extra credit. If you have the opportunity to take her for Plane Trigonometry definitely don't miss it!
Being that I have always struggled with math, Mrs. Zeiss helped sharpen my skills, as well as providing study guides that outlined what the test was going to be. She lets you bring an index card for each test that way you can write down formulas or whatever yo wanted to help you on test day. She gives you the tools needed to pass with an A.
Professor Zeiss was the best math professor I have had. She explains everything clearly and makes sure everyone understands the material before she moves on to the next topic. Her study guides are exactly what is on the exam. She has a good sense of humor and makes the class more exciting.
She is a thorough teacher. I took the class in the summer and it goes fast so paying attention is key. Once you understand the material the class is easy to deal with. Her grading can be tough because she requires you to write out all the steps to get to the answer. The hardest part about the class is that you must memorize the formulas!
She makes things easier and explains in a way that anyone can understand. She's really good!
professor Zeiss is considerably above any normal math instructor. her teaching style is clear. she organized the different elements of the complex math subjects that she was able to work with class smoothly and efficiently. i learned a lot in her course.
This is the best math teacher I have ever taken at the campus so far. She made it easy to learn. If you take her you wont regret it. Like any math class you need to show up to learn the material.
She made the class easy to understand with thorough explanations and examples. She's one of the funniest teachers, with her quick wit and smart jokes. She was a great teacher!
Amazing professor!! study guide is basically the same thing as the test. She provides 10 points extra credit on the test which is a whole letter grade if you get a an 85% or higher on the quizzes. I strongly recommend taking her class if you want to pass trig with a breeze.
Professor Zeiss explained each example in in way I can understand even for someone who struggles with math. She really cares about her students and helping them pass. She took time out of her day after class to sit with students and went over extra problems one on one with students who struggled. Provided extra credit and study guides which helps.
Zeiss helps you learn the same material that is on tests and MyMathLab. You do have to put in a lot of work, but she is always there after class if you have any questions. If you get an 85% or higher on any of the quizzes that will give you 10 extra credit points on each test, so that is an added benefit. I would take her again!
The study guides are just like the test. She also prints out outlines that have the same problems from mymathlab and goes over it during class. So its easy to do the assignments when you get home. If you study you should pass with a breeze. I would definitely recommend her.
Shes an amazing professor! She makes trig so easy to comprehend and makes it fun. Shes real funny smart and drop dead gorg. Highly recommend
Professor Zeiss is very helpful. She goes out of her way to do reviews for upcoming tests. She makes little packets for each section, which is so much better than the textbook. Very, very helpful. TAKE HER!!
Professor Zeiss is an amazing teacher! Do all the homework, quizzes, and come to class and you will pass! Gives extra credit. Test's are not easy but are also not hard. She will stay after class to assist you if you need the extra help. Definitely one of the best math teachers out there!
Professor Zeiss is great. She made Trig easier to understand and she made herself available after class if you need help. She really tries to explain the material in a way that you can understand. She goes a little faster through the material but that's only because I took in during the summer time. I DEFINANTLY recommend taking her.
She is a very Good professor. If you stay up to date on the work and make at least a B on everything you will pass. She will give you an opportunity to get extra credit.
Professor Zeiss is caring and is ambitious. She gives extra credit and is even willing to stay after class to help out her students. Her grading is very clear and as long as show up to class and do ALL of your work, you'll get an A. I am not math savy and she was able to make trig understandable. I definetly would take her again and she's funny.
She was super helpful , if you need help she will help I really hate math, still do but she made it suck less. Do the extra credit it will help you!!! (if you need it ) overall a great choice!!!
Professor Zeiss was a great professor. This was the hardest math I've ever had and she really broke it down and made it understandable. She drops your lowest of the four regular tests. Also offers 5 extra credit points on every test if you get an 85% or above on the practice quiz. Would absolutely take her again!
This class is based off of working in groups, and even if you didnt excel in math before, this class will definitely seem easy to you. Just make sure to always bring your book to class & do the online homework
She is super nice. Really caring.
Professor Zeiss is a very good professor, she cares about your grades and she tries to help you out as much as possible. Professor Zeiss gives out worksheets for every lesson in which come in handy. I would totally take her class again in the future.
I enjoyed taking this class, she's laid back, patient and helps a lot.
Explains the material thoroughly and gives clear expectations for the test. Her study guides are awesome and make the tests less intimidating!! Would take again.
Miss Zeiss was adept at defining answers and helping us with issues. She always had a backup for when something did not go according to plan.
I am terrible at math and I was still able to get an A. She gives lots of extra credit. I would highly recommend Professor Zeiss!
As a person who is terrible at math i was still able to pass with a high B. She helped anyone who needed it and was always easy to talk to. The main grade was the online quizzes and homeworks but you have unlimited chances up until the due date. Although attendence was not mandatory we were given extra credit if we came to all classes. Great teache
I think Ms. Zeiss is a very sweet lady. The homework and quizzes are quite challenging, but you can manage it if you work hard enough.
this is a difficult class but professor Zeiss helps understand the material very well
One of the best teachers i had. She is a very reasonable teacher. Reviews before tests and all the hw is online. Gives out extra credit for tests.
Zeiss is the best. Forget about multiple choice.
Alot of work done online & in textbook in class in groups , at the end of the week shell have you make portfolios online pertaining to the work . Easy grader if its done how she wants it to be done . Study guides just like the test!
She is very kind and can be funny at times. She gives you all the materials you need to pass. She makes math packets which makes the note taking process quicker and easier. She reviews the test with the class and is always willing to answer questions. As long as you study, you should pass.
This professor has honestly been my best math professor. Throughout high school I never did well in math because I never understood the material. Once I graduated and had professor Zeiss for my fall term, she helped me understand the material and is good at explaining problems if you have trouble. I would absolutely recommend her!
Professor Zeiss is flat out amazing! I hated math going into this class, yet her clear and thoughtful approach to teaching made me reevaluate that statement at the end of the semester. Easy homework/class work, a note card with formulas on the tests and overall a great experience. 10/10
This is for college algebra... took her spring 2019 and was truly pleased with her teaching. Do all the homework online and to pass each exam be sure to do the study guides and paper homework. If you have a question she will gladly answer and help. Shes very hands on with the students and will know you by your name.
She explains things very well and helps when you ask. She is also very funny and kind.
She is as radiant as she is engaging the course is pretty easy just make sure to do your quizzes and the portfolios are an easy addition to your grade. So, if you want to take this class in a classroom setting I highly recommend her she's funny and there no excuse not to get an A.
One of the best math teachers Ive had !! Definitely 10/10 Mrs. Ziess is patient and helpful, she will treat you like her own and you will definitely have fun learning in this class
Mrs. Zeiss was amazing and very helpful. The class was smooth and easy to understand. I would highly recommend her as a teacher in the future. She was able to make the class funny and enjoyable.
She was very nice and respectful to us. She alway wanted to help us out. She is funny. I would take her class again.
She's an awesome professor she makes sure you understand the lesson would recommend taking her for math
Relaxed professor teaching an easy class
Dr. Zeiss is great professor! Her lectures can get really boring, but if you ever dont understand something she tries her best to explain it. 75% of your grade comes from 4 tests ( Chap 1, Chap 2, Chap 3, Final exam) the other 25% is split between MyLabMath, Quizzes, and Participation. If you know what youre doing and pay attention, youll pass.
All lectures and homework were very organized and clear.
Awesome experience.
Her jokes arent funny and she hates when you really need help, she looks at you as if your dumb.
Professor Zeiss is very organized. She gives you a formula sheet and a homework packet that is similar to the MyMathLab homework, just different numbers to work with. Miss a class? She always posts her lectures online so it is easy to access. READ HER ANNOUNCEMENTS. She keeps you updated on EVERYTHING and that is what I enjoy most. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
It amazes me that this professor has such strong reviews, because if I could I would give her a negative rating. She went through material entirely too fast and if you needed help she had NO INTEREST in helping truly. Every interaction was very fake. I was told that I was on my own when I had issues transition to online because of Covid.
Professor Zeiss has been one of my favorite teachers. Trigonometry is not an easy class. But with Zeiss, it is. She's incredibly caring and gives amazing lectures. If you invest any time or effort in the class, she'll invest it right back in you. She will do whatever she can to make you succeed. Don't hesitate to take her. It's well worth it.
I heard good things about Ms. Zeiss and was extraordinarily disappointed. She has an attitude and when you ask for help/condescending all the time. I went to her for advice and she didnt listen to me/cut me off and just told me to just study more. If you take the accelerated course shes not supportive, and thats when you need the most support
Professor Zeiss is by far one of the best instructors I have enrolled with at IRSC. The course is very challenging, but Ms. Zeiss provides countless videos and lectures on the content. I would highly recommend this teacher to anyone enrolling in this class. Not an easy course (be prepared), but a remarkable instructor!
I would not recommend her to any other student. She is absolutely one of the meanest teachers Ive ever had. She is extremely rude and condescending with any question and doesn't seem interested in a students success in any way. I love math and was excited to learn before interacting with her.
I loved Professor Zeiss. Trigonometry has some difficult concepts, but Zeiss breaks them down well in her lecture videos. She is a quick responder. She even gave extra credit for the final. Professor Zeiss works hard and cares about her students. Highly recommend.
If you have any respect for yourself do not take a class with Professor Zeiss. She is the toughest grader there is with lots of irrational assignments that are unnecessary for the class. I was really struggling and reached out several times seeking help and all she told me was to study more. She was a tutor and didnt even offer me tutoring
She would give me a 0 on my shown work (which is worth 100 points) if work was not shown for EVERY question, which is fine- except the tests were timed as well. If I didn't answer the last questions in time, I wouldn't receive any points for any of the work I did show. How am I supposed to show my work for questions I didn't read or answer?
I never got in contact with Professor Zeiss, but she always marked the work I did for the tests wrong which caused my grade for each test to lower. If you know what youre doing shes good, but be sure to do everything step-for-step.
I am very dissatisfied with Professor Zeiss . She is very condescending in her emails which is not ok. This was an online class so a lot of the material I am having to learn on my own. Professor Zeiss has made a discussion weigh 16.66% while the final weighed 16.68%, the reason for this which I do not understand. No Extra Credit Provided!
I took intermediate algebra 10 years ago and got a C, if that tells you anything. Dr Zeiss was by far the best math teacher I've had. I took a hybrid course and all her lectures were posted in blackboard. She offered so may resources for tutoring. She explained every step of how she got her answers during lectures. She was great!
Dr. Zeiss was great! I just finished MAC1114; pace was pretty quick, but that is to be expected for a summer A course. It wasn't easy, but Dr. Zeiss provided the class with materials she created that walk you through all the material, along with videos that follow along with said material. Would definitely take another class with her as instructor.
If you are taking a hybrid or accelerated course, I highly recommend selecting Dr. Zeiss as your professor. She is straightforward, easy to understand, and provides a plethora of resources to ensure you get an A. She takes the time to print out the notes, create Youtube lecture videos, and give partial credit on tests. 10/10!
Highly recommended! Dr. Zeiss is very clear on grading criteria. She has awesome videos on YouTube for all the work covered in class, and practice exams- extremely helpful. Exams are heavily weighted, but she replaces your lowest exam grade with the final. You don't need the actual text book, just the access code.
Dr. Zeiss is one of the best math professors I have ever taken, but please note that trigonometry is not the easiest course! Dr. Zeiss explains the information clear and shows you step by step on how to answer the questions presented. She provides a lot of help on her Youtube videos and practice exams, do not ignore these, just put in the effort!!
Professor Zeiss, is very patient and very clear on her expectations for the course. I was never left behind and always had lecture videos that you could look back on.
Professor Zeiss is a very organized teacher and before taking this class I was so nervous to have this class but she made it so easy and made it all make sense. She uses a workbook to-do notes and has her lectures online and her reviews online for her tests too. The reviews are very similar to her test so just make sure to study those.Great Teacher
She's a bit intense. It is a lot of work. You will know the material in your marrow if you take this class as most of the tests are written responses and she has strict guidelines for showing your work. Her teaching style is very well-planned and very supportive. Grading focuses around presenting you with a practice test to study the actual test.
Great teacher that explains everything in lecture clearly. She gives study guides for each test taken and sets up students for success. She will also help with problems that you may not understand with the course material.
This professor spent most of the class time putting us into groups instead of actually teaching us the material. That time can be used to teach us the lessons and then going home to do homework. At this point, we are just teaching ourselves at home. She is also very condescending if you have any questions, she will make you feel dumb.
Gave practice tests that actually aligned with what was on the tests. A little difficult to communicate with at times but overall a great teacher.
This Professor is so rude and disrespectful!! Stay away from her at all COST
One of the best math professors I had so far. Her lessons are always well-prepared and she is very knowledgeable and also takes the time to explain difficult concepts and answers questions patiently. She truly cares about her students. I also had her for MAC 1140 and I was really upset when I found out that she does not teach calculus.
I took her class for summer A. Even though it went by fast, she really helped us try to maintain a good working schedule for due dates and such. She told us she wanted to help us get out of procrastination habits. We did group activities to help communicate our ideas. The tests were not necessarily hard. She provided practice tests for us as help.
Professor Zeiss teaches Trig very well. The class is difficult as it is an advanced math class but if you pay attention, take notes and study you can make it through it.
She is very caring and she makes her lecture notes very well-versed and easy to follow when you are doing homework outside of class, she also provides lecture videos for the notes and for the practice test reviews. Dr. Zeiss gives us the guided notes that are easy to follow and study for tests. She also responds to emails in an adequate time-frame
If you put in the work you will be just fine. She offers tutoring almost every day, the resources are available. (Guided video notes online as well, very nice)
She is great! I really like how she gives us a guided notes packet for the lectures in class. I find it very helpful when doing notes at home and following along with her videos. She is very nice and communicates with us well.
I am currently taking this course and it is definitely the easiest going math classes I have taken. Instead of purchasing a textbook and workbook, all students were provided with a free lecture textbook from Mrs. Ziess on the first day of class which is what we do all of our lecture work out of and this makes doing homework and studying super easy.
She is always open to discussing questions during class and during office hours. Whatever they may be relating to class work or tests. Her lectures are very informative and they are not boring. I usually have trouble focusing for long periods of time but in her class she teaches in a way that is easy to understand and I find it interesting.
I am a student that tends to get concepts fairly quickly and in cases where I need more help her lectures are wonderful to understand it. Her pace in teaching class is perfect. She also gives a guided notes packet which is very helpful. While there is a lot of homework, I personally feel like that is par for the course for a good math class.
The class is weighted 60% worth of tests, but the material she provides is extremely helpful to aid you on these. Tests are very similar to the homework and various practice exams she provides. She is great at answering questions and providing help. Lectures can seem slow if you are already familiar with the material, but she explains it well.
Quick grading and provides guided notes to each lecture.
Dr. Ziess is a phenomenal math teacher. Her lectures are easy to follow and understand. As long as you keep up with the material given and pay attention, it is hard to fail a course she teaches. She offers notes, videos, and tutoring to students in order to help them succeed. I personally have taken a few math classes and have gotten good grades.
Overall, Miss Zeiss is great at lectures and her class is VERY organized. She helps students not to procrastinate and provides tutoring. However, one instruction in the SOA was unclear to me and when I misinterpreted the due date, she was very condescending in her emails. She acted like I was dumb and did not answer my ? when I asked twice.
Dr. Zeiss always made herself available when I needed to ask a question about the homework, and she even went as far as spending extra time after class on multiple occasions to ensure that I understood the difficult homework problems I was struggling with . She always provides excellent online material for lectures and practice tests.
This teacher is the best math teacher ever. This teacher made math so fascinating and amazing. Unlike other teachers she actually taught what was on the test. I really enjoyed the small groups which we did once in a while. she also has very detailed YouTube videos on each section. she gave us a guided note packet which kept us organized.
This professor is very knowledgeable in her subject. She prints out a note packet for the semester and her lectures are helpful with filling this out. There is a LOT of work to do so stay on top of all the work.
Very Organized and the Class and schedule are laid out very easily. The class is very labor intensive so it never feels like you let off the gas even for a week. This class is difficult if you are not prepared for it, but if you are well organized and don't procrastinate you can pass.
Provides a lot of practice material to prepare for tests: HW, Quizzes ad HW Review on MLM. Stays onto of grades. Dr. Zeiss provides guided notes packet which are inline with her lectures and helps you stay on top of the course. She is knowledgeable. Would recommended taking if you like detailed lectures and are willing to put in the work.
Great instruction and help.
Very open to helping students as much as possible to achieve success.
She was a great professor who truly wants the students to learn the material. She explains the material very well and helped me understand the material very well.
This teacher gives one great reviews and quizzes that will help one succeed in this class. The retries of quizzes and all of the my math lab homework help me pass this class.
Amazing professor, explained clear and detailed instructions on math problems and she gave us math packets that include the lectures and reviews and practice tests within the book. Definitely one of the best professors I have taken for a math class. Also she created a detailed calendar to follow to reduce procrastination which helped substantially.
I took the mix bag class of precalc and trig so it was a lot of material in a short period of time. She did a great job teaching it and kept it real on what we need to do in order to get a good grade. What I loved is when she printed packets because it would keep me on track. She would be the perfect professor if she gave extra credit.
She provides workbooks for in person classes which are very helpful when she is lecturing. It keeps everything organized and you can look back to see your work during homework or studying. Great sense of humor!
I took Pre calc/Trig in her class and it's a good class. Having homework due twice a week teaches you that you can't wait until the last day to do homework. If you miss class or you don't get to a section in class, her lecture videos are great to watch. In class we do active learning which is great for getting to know your classmates.
I took a Precalc/ Trig class. She did a guide note packet. She does 3 test reviews all of which are helpful. The class is lecture-heavy. All quizzes are at home. Homework was due twice a week but had 3-4 days to get it done. We also had in-class activities which I got to know my classmates the best out of any class.
prof. Zeiss is a very caring professor she always make sure we have enough material and practice to be able to do well on the test. she also gives out guided notes packets which are very useful for understanding the difficult concepts she teaches. she also has in depth videos going over all the answers for each practice test.
Gave us everything we needed to succeed in this class. All assignments/homework she assigned was necessary for us to learn the material.
I never have a hard time understanding this professor.
this is my third time taking trig because i could not grasp the material. Dr. Zeiss is awesome at explaining the essentials she will teach you the easiest way to get to your solution. She provides a packet which is your notes so note taking is minimal. follow the syllabus to a T you will do great.
Gave good note packets that helped with the vast course material. Very knowledgeable of the course material.
Excellent teacher who guides through the course perfectly. Easy to follow, gives plenty of examples, and plenty of practice. I have not gone to tutoring but has several hours of tutoring throughout the week. Allows late work on basic homework for less credit. Replaces lowest test grade with midterm and final grade.
She explains the material clearly and understandably, while also making herself available anytime necessary outside of the classroom.
Dr. Elizabeth Zeiss is a very helpful professor and I find that this course is not super difficult like other math courses. She makes the experience of taking a difficult math course simple and not super complicated.
Amazing Instructor. Does an amazing job at teaching the material and a good to follow speed. Offers help if needed along with providing a work book to help take notes make note taking much easier.
Dr. Zeiss is a great teacher, very organized and is very helpful despite her busy schedule. She provides a note book packet that helps stay organized throughout the course. She gives extra credit and provides many study guides for each test. As long as you put effort into her class, it is an easy A.
Dr. Elizabeth Zeiss is an incredible math teacher. Her passion for the subject is contagious, making even complex concepts easy to understand. Her dedication to her students' success and her engaging teaching style truly makes her an awesome educator.
Lectures are very clear and concise without being too much information to take in. Grading criteria is clearly stated from the start of the course. Plenty of study material is given to help students prepare for tests such as MyLabMath Review and Quiz as well as a written practice test with answer key provided. Very helpful test feedback as well.
Took Dr.Zeiss for a combo precalc/trig class. Very accelerated course however Dr. Zeiss made sure to set us up with plenty of practice and organized lectures. She makes sure the homework and tests are lined up with what is taught in lecture, and she provides extra credit opportunities. Just make sure to have good time management and study.
This professor is really organized with all the material of the class, she provides a lot of options to study for the tests. She gives a guided notes package which is really helpful during the semester, is a lot of homework, and notes but if you follow her instructions and the SOA you will do fine.
Great professor, very organized. Really knows how to get the information across clearly and will help when you need it during office hours! The work load is a lot so be ready to do lots of homework. She likes to see all your work on the exams and will mark the problem wrong even if you get the correct answer when the proper work is not shown.
Attendance isn't mandatory but in-class activities are a grade. When the lecture isn't finished, we have to review her online lectures ourselves, which is a downside to her class ( it happens allot). Tests are worth a lot but she is very fair. She also makes you feel stupid when you ask a question. Overall, she's worth taking, not great to talk to.
Always do your homework, it is the best safety net for a bad test grade. The tests aren't the worst in the world but if you do not know the material you will not do well. She gives you plenty of chances to learn the material with the use of a guided notes packet, detailed homework for every section, and a socrative review before every test.
The class might be a bit fast pace for those who struggle keeping up with single course classes, but she makes sure her students understand the material and is always asking if anyone has any questions before moving on. She also provides a guided notes packet that also included test review questions, which I thought was really helpful.
Ziess is a knowledgeable professor. Her class is a LOT of homework so stay on top of everything. She lectures in person but NEVER finishes her lecture on time so you will be going home and viewing her lectures online very frequently. She provides a printed notes packet which you can follow along with during lectures that is the ONLY pro.
her class is simple she goes very into detail and its simple to pass I just had a rough start to many things once I started college
I have always struggled with math, Professor Zeiss was the first teacher who really made it click for me. She does so well with her lectures and takes the time to walk you through any questions or problems. She also does a review before every test which is incredibly helpful and a great study strategy! She's always easily accessible.
Shes very fair when it comes to work
She's literally the best. Explains the material so well and has an amazing guided notes packet. She is very understanding and will help you bring your grade up and tutor you. Office hours are great. Well organized and grades things fast. Probably one of the best professors I've ever had.
A great teacher when it comes to availability for tutoring, goes in-depth when it comes to new lessons. Even if you already know some of the things from the past it's a great refresher. Does an amazing job with prepping for reviews to take tests. Super lenient and chill environment.
Dr. Zeiss is an amazing professor. I struggle with Math a lot and she has made this class a breeze. She makes the material very easy to understand, I've missed class a couple of times and she has videos online so you could follow as if you were in class. whenever she's needed she is available and answers emails quickly.
Elizabeth is a great professor she is to the point and makes sure everyone in class understands the material before moving on. I am not as math inclined but she made my semester a breeze and was open to help in any way possible! She is a through explainer and is funny also! I would highly recommend her and would definitely take her again.
This class is very easy. The most "difficult" concepts are explained rather simply, so there are no misunderstandings. The only way to fail this class is to just not do the work, it's that easy of a class.
Great professor, will take again. To the point in explaining class, give you a note pack. Love her
The thing I like most about Professor Zeiss is that she will stop and take the time to work one on one with you when you are not understanding a problem. She explains it thoroughly and makes sure you are understanding how to get the problem. She also reviews before tests which is helpful.
I like that things get graded quickly. She provides feedback and helps when needed. She provides very clear instructions and clear lectures.
Professor Zeiss is very good at her job because she makes sure that every lesson is clear and very easy to understand. She makes sure that even if you don't understand that she is there to help, whether it is answering your questions in class or her office hours. If you are looking to take a math course, I recommend Professor Zeiss.
A good professor possesses a unique blend of professional abilities. First and foremost, her teaching style is characterized by a deep passion for their subject matter, which she convey with enthusiasm. This passion is infectious, igniting curiosity in her students. Having effective communication, and an open-door for questions and clarifications.
as long as you show up to the lectures & do your aleks assignments, you will pass this class easy peasy!
Zeiss was rude and unsupportive in class, choosing to be sarcastic. She does not like answering questions and will try to make you feel dumb. I heard her many times insult students and talk down to them. She did not understand how to apply the criteria outlined in the syllabus or follow a concrete grading system, grading assignments haphazardly.
This class was hard. Very few people got A's to my knowledge. I've never struggled so much on the tests because they were not the same level of difficulty in the practice. The lecture videos are long, thorough, and can be played in 2x speed, yet are not adequate preparation for the tests, which account for a large majority of your overall grade.
This class was hard. A LOT of tests that are worth a big chunk of your grade. The homework and classwork is only work 15% She spends a lot of time talking about unnecessary things during lectures leading you to complete the majority of it at home plus the homework's. You need to dedicate a lot of time for this class to pass.
in-depth videos explaining the topics, although she went so thorough during class that you had no choice but to watch the 2-hour videos after class to finish the notes. extremely rude when anyone had a question. no study guides, doesn't believe in extra credit. Makes you turn in work for tests so she can take off points if you dont show your work.
Don't bother reaching out and asking for help, no matter what the situation was on email she is very rude. Make sure you read the syllabus and schedule of activity well because she closes all discussion boards at 11:59 so you can't do them and also doesn't except late work. Honestly just take a better professor that cares about her students.
I chose this professor because her reviews were great! Sadly, this professor wasn't my favorite and that's completely okay. I struggle with math BAD, and though she was very accessible outside of the blackboard shell, she was very condescending with her responses back. Unfortunatley, I'll be taking this course again, but not with this professor.
Before signing up for any of her math classes, be aware that they operate under a flipped format where you will watch lecture videos and take tests at home (except the final) and work on homework in class. This style does not work for everyone especially during a summer session where you have to watch a lecture video every day. Still a solid class.
She's a solid professor but she makes you watch lecture videos with ads instead of lecturing in class; sometimes she even makes mistakes doing the problems in the videos. She makes class participation a part of your grade where you have to present homework problems in class to assigned groupmates. Pretty odd class but I guess it works for some.
Professor Zeiss makes math easy with her clear explanations. She's always willing to help, and using unstuckstudy alongside the class made studying a breeze. Definitely worth taking!
Dr. Zeiss is a great professor. Her class was flipped format so our lectures were self-recorded online videos. Class time was spent in groups completing quick homework (Pearson software). Collaboration was informative and you always had the TA and Dr. Zeiss to help. Gave plenty of exam time and extra credit opportunities. Great experience!
She is rude and condescending to the point where I don't want to ask questions and the average class grades for most of the tests in the class were in the 60's.
This class was okay. Barely learned anything and it was all based-on memorization for me. A lot more work than what a regular lecture would be and would recommend you drop once you hear that it's a flipped class.
I just want everyone reading these reviews to know, they are not accurate. I took her precalc course and she made everyone give her a good review because in that same year she was being nominated for an award.
I saw her rating before taking the class and assumed it would close to the 4.5 she's rated at but no not at all. If you are not great at math do not take this class because she does a flipped class where she does not do anything in class. All the work in class is done in groups and no one knows what's going on. Don't waste your time with her.
DO NOT GO TO HER!!!! I'm ok in math but this was absolutely brutal! The tests are 60% of your grade which is already insane. I spent an entire weekend studying and practicing for her first exam AND BOMBED IT WITH THE REST OF THE CLASS. Average scores like 50. She will yell at the class and place blame on everyone for "not studying hard enough."
The tests are worth 70% of your overall grade. If the tests did not meet her expectations, she would gently scold the class. If you are the type of person who needs a live lecture, I would not recommend taking this course. She does reversed learning. We did the notes at home through youtube videos and did the homework in class.
BEWARE of format!!! literally so awkward.. Professor is not the nicest, and made me feel scared to ask questions without her being rude about what I didn't know. I thought of skipping this class so often, because of how optional showing up feels since tests are 70% of your final grade. I pulled so many all nighters please save your sanity!
