Her midterms and exams are tough compared to the class examples she uses. The practice questions in class are so easy and the midterms she uses are so tricky they legit just try to mess with your head. But she still gives decent marks even if the answer is wrong she'll try to give some marks to see if you did the correct steps.
Don't get me wrong accounting is a tough course, but it doesn't help when the teacher is straight up mean and hard to understand. Her courses are lecture heavy and in no way engaging. She gets mad when you get an answer wrong and is not approachable for help. Lots of willpower and LOTS of studying is needed to do well in her class.

Ella is the worst prof ever if u ask her how many multiple choice or written questions will be on exam she will not tell u like what professor does not tell the format. Her midterms are literally ridiculous so hard compared to what she teaches us in class. Don't know who made her a professor she reads from a slide knows nothing. And is mean grumpy.
Her exams are literally a shock compared to what she teaches in class. In class all easy stuff and then on exam she throws crazy things at u even the practice questions in the book are not that hard. She asks for feedback but makes the next midterm even worse. She is probably the meanest and worst prove i have ever took. So sad that i took her clas

Acct 1210 is a hard course but is possible if u open book and read professor is good gives lots of practice question
Ella is amazing. If u show up to class put the work in this class is not that hard . Ella does the best she can to make her students succeed gives review sessions before midterms. I meet her in her office hours all the time and she helps me. She is very nice and her lectures are great. I would take her again. Accounting in general is hard.
Honestly it is her exams that are really really hard. She puts tricky questions on the midterm and uses simple examples in class. For 1110 my prof use to use same question from textbook we did in class but change up numbers. I wish she was easy on us. Lots of ppl are failing. She gave us 0 clue for final what to study and there is so much material

DO NOT take this course with this prof you will heavily regret it. The class average for the class midterms says it all (awful). She expects a lot from her students, if you don't come to class knowing the entire chapter already (basically already self-teaching yourself) her lectures will not make sense cause she is terrible at explaining things.
Her in class questions are ok and the one's she puts on the exams terribly hard for example for division of profit in textbook everything was given to us and for exam we had to calculate all there beginning capital she just makes it so confusing. Don't know why she cannot keep it simple.
I studied I studied alot and still got around 50ish on midterm I have never got such low mark and it's her exams makes them so hard like some national board exam. She is a nice lady but teaching skills are not worth taking her. If your going to make exam hard least teach us the hard ways. Sum1 needs to tell the dean cus every1 is almost failing
Ella is a good professor tries to keep things simple. I hate accounting so its been tough for me. Her practice exams helped me a lot. I would take her again. Her midterms are a little hard but still can get a good mark. Her lectures are great
I was scared to take accounting 1210 because everyone said it was so hard. Yes, the course is hard but i am glad i took it with ella because she made the course much easier. She has a lot of practice questions and those helped me a lot. Study hard and this class is 100 percent doable
She is great def easier then other profs. Clear grading and gives Mark's even If answer wrong if u have some idea of what u r doing
Final exam was good she put on what she taught in class and that was very good. If u attempt all her practice questions and study hard u can pass forsure. I recommend her

Accounting 1210 requires alot of self study. U have to sit down and keep practicing ones you conquer that you can easily pass this class. Ella provides lots of practice questions if u keep doing those u can get a good mark. Go to class read the book and this class is not to hard. As long as u are reviewing and showing up and doing practice.
I think she is better then other accounting 1210 prof. Read her PowerPoint and do the homework and u will be good. Midterm a little trickey question but a lot of practice of hard questions should be able to make those type of question easier

The questions she teach you in exam will never be on the exam, she teaches from slides whereas accounting can only be taught my questions so its make very difficult for the student to learn
BEST accounting prof for accounting 1210. She gives 5 attempts on wileyplus by the 5th attempt you will get 100 percent. Gives lots of questions to work on and those type of questions are on exams. Her midterms were a little tricky, but final was def just like her practice questions so nothing to shock u. If u study this class is easily doable
She should make her midterms like her final. She used the questions she taught us in class for final but for midterm it was pretty difficult. Sit down and review and u can get a good mark.
This class requires studying if you read chapter before class do practice questions then go to her class you will be good because the things u did not understand u can ask her then when she's teaching it. If u come to class without doing anything theres no way you'll know what is going on u will b stuck and this class goes quick. Midterm comes soon

She's hard marker for the exams. She will teach very simple in the class but exam will be bit opposite. Attendance is not necessary.
She needs to make her midterms easier there way to trickey overall good prof final was easier so she realized everyone was not performing well on midterm.

Ella is an average teacher at best considering accounting is a difficult course, however her lack of teaching skills will further plummet your grades down. Likewise, Ella is not really a great lecturer because of her lack of speaking skills, and the inability to make her class engaging. Lastly, the term tests were scheduled poorly .
Overall a hard course. Ella's teaching is OK, but you do have to put in a lot of work to get a good mark. Her weekly reading quizzes, 2 midterms and final exam very similar to what you do in class/hw(which was very helpful). She also gives practice exams.
If you get this prof be prepared to learn everything on your own. She doesnt care about students that are struggling and will shift you towards a tutor instead of explaining the concept in a different way.
I wish I could give her -10 rating. She is the worst prof ever and does not care even a little about any student. 80% of her class failed the midterms due to various out-of-syllabus questions. I would strongly recommend avoiding her class at any cost if you're looking forward to passing your prerequisite.
She is an instructor and a student. She said so herself in the first class. Her explanation is really difficult to grasp and sometimes even tougher than the textbook. Mostly just reads off the slides to rush through the chapter. I would never recommend her.
Hands down worst professor i have ever had, i recommend you do NOT take her class. She is very rude to her students and is very unorganized. Her concepts make no sense and she just rushes through class. She is so unorganized she is lost most of the time and even forgets to give a break. Many more reasons just don't take her class.
Her midterms are really hard. She passed only 7 students in the second midterm. She can't focus in class, probably because she is a student herself and she's makes a lot of mistakes. She doesn't give a mark distribution or outline for the final. She doesn't want us to pass this course!!!!
Her second midterm was very difficult, few people passed it. Final was a bit easier, but wasnt enough for me to succeed in the course. She rushes way too fast on the lectures. I highly recommend you do not take her, as a lot of people fail this course with her.

She has no clue how to teach seriously. I never rate profs event with bad experiences. But with her I just had to come here to rate. School really needs to replace her and find someone else. not a very great prof. seems like she doesnt understand the material. i would get more confused the more she talks. i pretty much taught myself the whole course. (B+ grade heading into the final exam). she mentioned she is also a student and always so tired. not very organised. she moved the midterm up one week because not enough people came class!
Her way of teaching is very basic. she will teach you stuff that is very easy but the test and homework are extremely complicated. I will not recommend her.
Yo this lady is outrageous. She doesn't teach anything in class expects u to read and know everything beforehand and gives heavy homework on chapters that are to be studied in the next week. She literally mumbeles in her speech. I wish I chose a better prof. Don't take this prof ur final mark will be less then what u hope for.

Ella is a really bad prof in general and she is very inconsiderate. But her exams for 3380 are very easy and its easy to get a good grade. It all depends on if your a good self learner.
I took her class this semester and i started to love accounting more. Her grading criteria is really straightforward, no beating around the bush. Classes are interactive with practice problems relating to every single concept she covers which is just amazing. Take her anytime if you can, she is literally the best professor at KPU.
Ella was not a very caring or helpful professor in my experience. I basically taught myself the whole course, not sure how I got an A. She didn't seem to care about student success and was very unhelpful if you approached her with questions about the homework. One session with a KPU tutor was more helpful than the prof was through the entire course
I had a wonderful experience of learning accounting from her and I am happy to be taught from her she explains everything perfectly. And it was an interesting class.
The professor was an hour late for our exam.
So,firstly she'll tell u to do assignments before the class that you know nothing about. Just be sensible and don't take her as your professor.
Prof tells u exactly what to study for. Pretty chills overall if u just do the hw on wileyplus. The graded assignments annoying but they are easily manageable. Going to class if useful cuz she gives work which is related to the ongoing lecture. She gives good information on what will be on the exams and she gives useful practice exams.
Overall, she is a great professor. Come to class prepared and complete the adaptive and learning assignments After the lecture, you have a HW to complete. So I think it would be fair if she increased the assignment percentage as there is considerable effort put in. Exams are hand-written, but it's better if she administers her exams through Wiley.

Just do not take this professor please she is absolutely terrible. half the stuff that comes out of her mouth makes zero sense, doesn't even care about her students gives you hard hw which is only worth 10% and on top of that it is completely different from the midterms she gives and both her midterms are 40% in total and the final is worth 50%.
Had a great time in Ella's class. She is thorough in her in-class lectures as well as with the notes, slides, and study material she provides. Ella's assessments are fair, and as long as you put in the work success will follow.

She is awful and is generally rude to students, i am in my 4th year and have never encountered such an inconsiderate professor. She treats students as if they are slaves, and is very authoritative. My first day, i fell like she is going to hit me when i forgot to bring my assignment with me.
She teaches okay but is very rude and doesn't like being questioned at all.
Her teaching style is lazy and she doesn't like to be questioned. My advice is to avoid her.

Does not give partial marks and HW is heavy in terms of questions, which at the end of the day are only worth like 10%. Midterms (15 & 20%) and Final (50%) aren't too bad.
this is the worst professor I ever had at KPU. she has a very bad attitude and is very rude to her students even when asking a question. she stares at her students like she is gonna hit them or something. very intimidating and not at all helpful. she never shows the marks in class. NEVER TAKE HER CLASS OR YOU WILL FEEL LIKE CRYING EVERYDAY.

I mean she's fine as long as you already know the basics of accounting. You need not to attend the lectures but yeah you gotta be well prepared for this course otherwise you'll struggle and she already told us on the first day of the class that almost half of the students fail in her course so yeah be well prepared.

She is really difficult and has a fast phase when teaching her lecture which left me confused. During the test she did answer student questions but the lecture load was heavy. If you have a choice between her and another teacher I recommend the other one
The professor clearly outlined the expectation for students to read ahead before lectures and assignments went live. This provided the foundation for informed in-class discussions and productive work. While this is a demanding course with a lot to cover in a limited timeframe, the emphasis on preparation and time management is essential for success

It might be this course or the professor you end up teaching yourself the materiel needed .Class are not generally useful for assignments and Exams I would recommend any students to spend 3 hours each day covering the Wileyplus text book to be successful in this course
She's an amazing professor. If you pay attention she covers all topics in class and explain them in detail. Her lectures are interesting and by the end of class you will be 90% confident that you know the concepts. Her mid-terms are easy and final exam can be little difficult. But overall she is wonderful professor
i have never felt more insignificant and not self worthy in my entire life. i was actually doing so much better on the homework until the midterms came around. i have no clue what went wrong. unless you want to cry everyday and question your self worth, please never take ella. never ever take her. the school needs to replace her immediately.
Lectures are good and have a lot of well-chosen examples you work through as a class If you want to pass, you have to read the textbook and practice and she's clear about this. She provides answers to the practice questions on Wiley. It's a lot of material to cover in a short amount of time. -1 point b/c she scares me and can be intense
