Horrible teacher!! Does not explain anything and calls everything on her tests that aren't right "dummy answers" to make you feel even more stupid. She's head of the accounting department, but she's horrible.
I thought she was an amazing teacher, even though she does teach accounting. She makes funny comments in class and keeps you interested by relating class to real life. I loved her even though I hated accounting.
She is excellent! She makes out the departmental tests and familiarizes students with the words which will give away the answer. There were lots of visitors to our class because most of the other instructors were lowsy. My only complaint is that the textbook is AWFUL...The biggest waste of $89.00. Learn from the slides, they spell it out better :)
Benefit of this prof is she is the course director who writes the exams, thus teaches to the exams. Kinda boring though-- Does every homework problem in class, *yawn*.
Lots of help, knows what's going to be on the tests... good teacher
the worst teacher ive had so far here. she teaches the material somewhat but she makes snide and rude comments all the time and its very annoying. shes kinda of paranoid bout everything too and but theres not much we can do, especially cuz shes the head of accounting
Anderson has her perks and drawbacks like every professor. her personality sucks, and dont plan on liking her. but she does write the tests, and is very good at what she does. expect to get EXACTLY what you put into this course, with no help or harm from her.
AMAZING TEACHER! sit in the front row. she gives attendance quizes, and easy quizes (WITH A PARTNER) so go to class. Shes not the head of the department? but they all make the test together, so she prepares you well. shes very passionate about accounting. so pay attention and you will do fine!
She is the course director, thus she writes the exams. You would be best off in her lecture section. While sometimes a bit over the top, she's a good teacher and knows accounting.
This class is TERRIBLY hard! be prepared to work your butt off! It is VERY necessary to go to class, but be ready to teach yourself everything outside. Ellen uses the words junk and crap a lot which is EXTREMELY annoying. The ONE perk to her class is she has AWESOME slides that really help for exams! Study them A LOT and you will do well!
If you are majoring in accounting this is the professor to have. She is very clear on her material and really knows her stuff. She will help in any way but you have to make an effort to go and see her. She also writes the tests.
i know i'm getting a C in the class, and i think it's mostly my fault. she is very passionate about her subject (which is refreshing) and she does every prob in class. but i failed to do the h/w and that's what killed me i think. you have to keep up! don't put it on the back-burner like i did. this will be my first C in college.
This class is NOT hard! Just go to class, do all the hw probs and study for 2 hours before the test. If you do that, you will have an A or an easy b+. If you fail this class, then it is because you didn't go or didn't do the hw. She is a good (but boring) teacher
She is not hard at all. Her only draw back is that she goes really fast, but I understand everything she says. She gives great examples and keeps the class interesting. TAKE HER!!
Really wish I wouldn't have bought the $100 textbook. I never used it. She doesn't teach, instead goes over the homework the whole time. It's a pretty easy class, she's a good teacher, and she loves what she is doing. Good Teacher. Circles and underlines like no other. Lectures Boring, but mandatory because of quizzes
dont take her, she doesn't explain anything. An than the tests are ridiculously hard. I haven't missed a class and I'm barely pulling a C.
Go to class, if you don't it will bite you in the end. She is very strait forward, and expect no mercy from her in grading or attendance. She is extremely knowledgable on the subject matter and is very clear in her expectations of students. She goes over all homework in class and almost never takes it up. She is strict but good.
MUST go to class! You will not pass the class if you do not. But if you do go to class and study the slides, getting a good grade is very possible. She goes over every homework problem in class and they are very helpful because test problems are similar. She is the department head so she makes out the tests so take her. Overall a great teacher
I hated her... This is still my least favorite class I have ever taken throughout my education. She only goes over homeworks that you've already struggled through instead of teaching you how and she's mean!
Quizzes are taken with a partner or two and are easy grade boosters. However, as a teacher she is somewhat rude, but from what I've heard she is much nicer in office hours. I would recommend her if you are considering a major in Accounting, but otherwise try to avoid Anderson. ATTEND CLASS even though she's extremely boring.
She is hard but she is a good teacher and is very helpful, all you have to do is ask. Quizzes in class really help your grade so GO TO CLASS!! You won't understand anything unless you go. Test are hard but the study guides are very helpful.
She is an excellent teacher. She's crystal clear about what you are to do, and she's rather no nonsense. But she does occasionally crack a joke. Attendence is mandatory, the quizes are with a buddy, exams are department regulated. My roommate didn't have here and came to our review sessions. He said she was better than hist teacher. Take her.
I am an Accounting major and I liked the subject and it came pretty easy to me. I thought she was an extremely good teacher to prepare you for upper level accounting classes. She is a great teacher even in you don't like or understand accounting because she basically just gives you a 100 to average into 21% of your grade if you just go to class.
she is a great teacher. i would highly recommend her. as long as you go to class & pay attention you will do good. she explains everything really well.
She is "Ok" she moves very fast in class so don't plan on learning to much while there if anything you teach yourself the material.
I really liked having her as a teacher. I absolutely HATE accounting, but she's still a great teacher. You MUST go to her classes or you'll miss the quizzes, which can count against you very quickly. She explains everything very well. Study the slides she puts on blackboard, but make sure you practice the problems she assigns, too. It'll help out.
Ok as a professor but puts her head down and barely looks up. She makes acccounting more difficult than it should be with her confusing explanations. Very unapproachable and actually from mine and others experience in the class she is flat out rude. Doesn't bend the rules whatsoever, even for a documented death in the family.
The class is only hard because we always "ignore tax" in financial reporting. Study hard for the first test and you will set yourself up for success. Tax laws change every year so she has to update the notes and tests, quizzes, etc...every year- understandably there are frequent mistakes but you can adapt quickly if you stay on top of the class
Anderson is terrible. I honestly can not think of a teacher that is worse. She spends every class flying through homeworks and after class makes her tests as impossibly difficult as possible. If you like wasting money on texts books, being treated like crap, and having her schedule tests according to her schedule she is for you. Avoid at all costs!
2nd best professor I've had at UT. However, the whole class is spent going over. While going over the homework, she explains the concepts behind them. The tests are all MC, but you HAVE to study (more than 2 hours before test day). This is not a math class, it's a classification class, which messes with some people. I'd recommend this class.
This is just a hard class period. She just goes over the homework in class which you don't have to do but you have to go to class to take the random quizzes.
Awful!! I would advise getting Mayfield! Like previous comments she makes mistakes and it's hard to keep up, she's rude, heartless, and just mad at the world. When going to office hours she blows you off and makes you feel dumb. Compared to Mayfield, she gives no extra problems or assistance to do well on exams. HW doesn't translate to tests
Anderson really doesn't care if you do well in the class. She would rather show off her knowledge of accounting by flying through homeworks and telling you everyday how screwed you are on the tests. The worst teacher I've had at UT by far, she has no business teaching an entry level accounting course.
She is super smart and the class is really hard, but I would not take anyone but her. She makes sure she goes over everything multiple times so it gets in you head. She is not helpful at all, but she writes the tests for the department. The class is super hard, but she prepares you for the tests a million times better than Valades.
She is a very good teacher. What you want from your professor. She gives it to ya straight and lets you decide if you wanna do the work. Her insight and explanations are great. A must take. There are three tests, quizzes twice a week, and attendance is taken. She uses slides so it is easy to keep up
Ellen tells you exactly what you need to know and the only reason people fail this class so much is because they put off doing their homework. If you read and do the assignments when she tells you to then you will get an A in this class. It's a very straight-forward as long as you do what the syllabus says. Not hard with moderate effort
We all take this class because we need the credit, but Anderson takes it a little more serious. I am in no way a neurotic person but this is truly the worst class I have ever taken. She is out to trick you on the questions, and she spends countless lectures telling us how we are choosing to do bad in the class. Brace yourself, its awful.
Take her over Valadez, attendance isnt necessary but quizzes are given almost every class so in order to boost your grade, you have to go to class and take the quizzes.
Ms.Andersone is a great teacher. Anyone on here saying she is rude and TOO hard didn't put enough effort into class. Go to class, take notes, answer questions, and study and you will come out with a B most likely. It is a tough class, but you should know this going in so don't listen to these people trying to put in on Anderson. She's also nice too.
First off, I will admit that she can teach the subject pretty well, but i absolutely would never ever ever recommend her as a teacher. i wouldn't even go within 50 ft of someone as rude and disrespectful as she is. She is by far not only the rudest teacher Ive met, but is also the rudest person i have ever met in my life. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
At first I thought she was rude too, especially since since she called me out for talking during class.I believe I was barely whispering. However she is a wonderful lady. She will not like you if you seem lazy and disruptive. She will help you when you need it and seek her for help. Great teacher, Greater person. I recommend.
Anderson is not rude, but she is direct. Her bluntness will let you know that you will do poorly in class if you do not pay attention or attempt homework. Accounting is a touch subject, but Anderson teaches it very well.
Just dont "Fall behind in A200"
Just a tough class. She makes up the tests so it would be to your advantage to take her instead of Valadez.
If you wanna know what to expect on the test, take the class. Yes, valadez is nice, but she doesn't teach according to the test. Anderson is a straight-to-the-point no BS type of teacher. the test are extremely difficult. Study at least A WEEK ahead for the test. I got a C on my first one and a B on the second 1.
She has taught this class for a long time and it shows in her lectures. I felt like she flew through the material, and there's a lot of it. She is very blunt but easy to get extra help with between classes. I thought that the tests were ridiculous. They're the kind where you think you did great and end up making a 72.
This class is hard work, no way around it. She's very fast paced and to the point, and she comes off as somewhat rude during the lectures. However, she's simply trying to motivate the class, and she is extremely helpful when needed.
Since she writes the tests, i would recommend Anderson, but as a teacher she is very insulting. She does not teach her class "professionally" as she expects her students to act towards the class/her because she is so rude. Yes i put in an enormous amount of effort, and barely made it with a C (first ever). Be prepared to focus and study from day 1!
It's accounting, so your going to have to actually try or you will fail. She is about what you should expect, tough but very willing and open to teach. She wants her students to do well, but will make tests difficult. I got a B+, study powerpoints and drill practice tests. Quizzes often in-class.. every accounting class curriculum are the same..
Guys, I am by no means a slack off, who blames a teacher because I didn't pull my weight in class. With that being said, DO NOT take! She complicates Acct. 200 to the point where it becomes one of those classes you have to spend way too time on. I once studied 16 hours (not even as an allnighter), and I still did poorly. Avoid if possible!
Professor Anderson was a great professor. She knows what she's talking about and is very willing to drill it in your head. In accounting you want this, taking the other professors is a bad idea, because Anderson makes the test. I made a C the first time I took it, but had to take the class again to get in to my major. I made sure to take her again!
Ellen's class is difficult and requires lots of study and attention. I agree with others who said she is rude. I asked her to further explain a question to which she replied: you should know the answer to that. She then started reading her email. Thank goodness another professor overheard and kindly explained where I had made an error in my work.
If accounting is your major you should take her. It is a hard subject but she does make you understand it. She is direct and to the point. I learned a lot from her. I will most likely have to retake it due to time management issues of my own accord. When/If I have to retake this course I will be sure to sign up for her class again!
"Accounting is a language course, not a math course." She's right. READ THE BOOK AND UNDERSTAND WHAT QUESTIONS ARE ASKING. All these people that say Anderson's rude or acct is impossible are wacko. Accounting's the language of business, and Anderson couldn't teach it better!
class is not exciting, but is mandatory. do not use your phone because if she catches you you will get a zero on the quiz for the day. you have a quiz almost every day, but get to work on it in groups of 2-3. go to class, take good notes, and study hard for the test. concepts are very important, she is very anal about being exact
she's incredibly rude, but a good teacher nonetheless. very straightforward. tests are similar to the study guides but not exact. no homework, but pop quizzes almost every day that you get to work on with 1 or 2 others. hopefully will pull a B this semester.
This class is very difficult, but Anderson is a great teacher. She has called people out on being on their phone, but I never heard her being rude in my class. She has always tried explaining things if misunderstood. You have to be willing to put in the time and the effort to studying and "understanding the language-not a math course". This is true
Mrs. Anderson was great at teaching A 200. The people who say she complicates acct only feel that way because they weren't READING the textbook and working the problems prior to class. If you come to class having done those things A 200 shouldn't be challenging. Also, tests are m choice with 3 dummy answers that can be easily eliminated if prepared
Mrs Anderson is by far the best ACC 200 teacher to take. Yes the class is hard but you have to take it so take here. She is the head of the department and writes the exams. The practice tests they give you are really helpful for the exams and she only does group quizzes and doesn't take up homework!
Mrs. Anderson is a TREMENDOUS teacher. She is passionate about the subject & knows how to teach the material. Accounting is tough (no way around that), but she really wants you to understand the material and helps in any way possible. You have to put in the work, but it definitely pays off. Don't get behind. Also, she basically makes the test.
Mrs. Anderson is on of the better accounting teachers. She writes the tests so she teaches the material very well.
Mrs. Anderson is one of the best teachers I've ever had, but also one of the toughest. Don't let that keep you from taking her for A200, though, because she's the best out of all the A200 instructors (she's also the department head and writes the exams). Pay attention , don't miss class, and do your homework and study often or you WILL fall behind.
She really is a great instructor and is so helpful. You have to put in a lot of extra work to do well and actually do the homework and read the book before class. She's hard but she knows her stuff and explains it well. She's one of the best instructors I've had at UT.
Accounting isn't easy so take Anderson, because 1. she makes the test & 2. She explains everything thoroughly! The other professors have test averages in the 60s; hers are in the 80s! Also I would recommend reading before and after class to make sure you understand everything! Go to her office hours as often as you need! She's willing to help!
I love Anderson. Since She makes the test I would recommend taking her. The homework helps out a lot just make sure you do them even if she doesn't take them up. The are useful when it comes it exam time.
Mrs. Anderson is not going to be your best friend or ask you how your weekend was but she will prepare you for the tests better than any other professor, considering she is the head of the department and makes up the exams. Take it with her and make it a little easier on yourself. I had different teacher the first time around and it was miserable.
If you are good with accounting and already have experience will the subjects in this course, then you will probably do fine. If not, be prepared to go to class where Anderson is rude, loud, and strict. She explains concepts really well, but she is flat out rude to students that are late or just looking elsewhere when she looks at you.
Mrs. Anderson is very strict. But she clearly wants her students to do as well as possible. She can yell at times but it only is to make sure we remember something. She is extremely helpful if you seek it and makes sure to ask questions that will be like ones on the test. I loved her class.
Anderson is a tough teacher, but that is only because she wants to drill the information into your head. Out of all the accounting 200 professors, she is your best bet! She is always doing examples and she really wants you to succeed. Make sure you go to class, homework is collected and there are random quizzes. Definitely take this class with her
I made an A in this class and in order to do this you can NOT procrastinate and study a few days prior to the exam. You need to study every week and make sure you are not behind. She gives quizzes and collects hw, which is basically an attendance grade only 50/350. Try to study after each class and don't fall behind. I made 88, 94, 98,respectively
Anderson is the department head so she knows what she's talking about. That being said, this class is not easy. She has a derogatory tone of voice during most lectures and the tests are tough. If you study and learn the material you should make it out with a decent grade.
Anderson is definitely your best chance for passing this class. This is one of the most challenging courses of my college career and she knows how to teach it better than anyone. She doesn't take any sass from students and is business first, but its only because she realizes how hard the material is and she wants everyone to learn it
If you don't like teachers that emphasize how hard the class is, don't take Anderson for A200. She spends half the class scaring her students about the material instead of helping us try to understand it more. She is pretty dry and clear cut, but the only reason I took her is because she's the department head. Go to class every day.
This class wasn't so bad. Mrs. Anderson is pretty catty, but I learned to like her. The worst part about this class is the quizzes (if you don't keep your cribsheet updated for every class you are screwed) and the tax project (START EARLY--it really takes several hours). Don't get the text book or do her extra suggested problems.
Anderson is a very difficult teacher, but knows her stuff. If you procrastinate, don't expect an A. Studying for tests means at least three days worth of non-stop repetition of the concepts. 3 tests worth 100 points each and 50 points worth of quizzes makes up your grade so lecture attendance is vital.
Its a hard class but Anderson makes it doable. She's tough but makes the class easier by doing a great job of explaining the concepts and making sure you aren't asleep or texting. Attendance is mandatory for a good grade and if you text in class you will get called out. But I would definitely take her again.
She is like a cool grandma. I really liked her sass and sarcasm. She makes class interesting and gives really notes. I barely used the book cuz the tests are straight from her notes. Group quizzes. Make a really good crib sheet and you can get an A.
The class is hard but not her. She is the best in the department.
Great Professor! She is extremely sassy, but it makes the class fun! You don't have a choice but to have your ducks in a row with this one. She won't think twice about calling you out in class if you don't. Overall, she is the best at what she does and is the best in the department. TAKE HER!
Ellen Anderson is a wonderful professor and the reason that I switched my major to accounting. Her class is not easy, but if you actually go and put in work, then you should do well. STUDY WITH OLD TESTS. I can't stress that enough. The old tests are just like the ones she gives, and she's the one that makes them.
Mrs. Anderson is an incredible teacher and gives a very realistic picture of how tough the material is and how much you need to study. She gives great examples in class and goes over everything in an easier way than the text. You still have to work a lot on your own time; read the chapters and practice the additional homeworks!
Mrs. Anderson is one of the best professors I've had here at UT. She gives students a clear understanding of what they must do in order to earn the grade they won't. Don't skip class and study hard because the tests are hard, but manageable. I got a 86, 100 on the first 2 tests and hopefully I'll earn an A on the final exam. Take Anderson.
The hardest class I've ever had to take, but I would definitely take her! She's one of the best teachers at UT and she knows what she's doing. She writes the exams so definitely take her! Just be prepared to work your butt off. If you procrastinate then I'd recommend getting out of that habit before this class!
I LOVE Mrs. Anderson! She is very sassy, but I love that about her. She's not afraid to call you out if you are late in front of the whole class, so don't be late! I thought I would find this class boring and extremely difficult, but the class is very very interesting and her tests can be hard, but if you study, you can definitely make a B or an A
Mrs. Anderson was hands down the most effective instructor I have had at this school. The course is very challenging but she does her best to make sure you succeed but it's up to you if you actually do. She is very knowledgeable and makes every second spent on homework worthwhile. She is the reason that I have now changed my major to accounting.
Extremely professional teacher. Knows how to convey the material so that you understand it. Take notes and listen during class time. Has a humorous side. Tests are very straight-forward, but require study effort.
Great professor I've ever seen so far!
The class is tough, but if you work hard you can make a good grade. You cover a lot of material each day and it can sometimes be hard to keep up. There is tutoring available that is very helpful, definitely take advantage of it if you are confused. There are random quizzes at the end of class that are difficult, but you can work with partners.
Anderson is the best choice for 200. Bottom line. She is clear, to the point, and doesn't bother with material she isn't going to test you on. If you want to really have a solid foundation in Acct Anderson is a must.
Ms Anderson is my favorite teacher I've had at UTK. Who else could make you look forward to an accounting lecture? She's funny as could be too. Also, this is a hard class but she tells you exactly what she will test you on and is very straight forward. Would recommend. Would take again.
Not the worst. I thought she was pretty patronizing. Every time I asked for help she was really condescending and always made me feel like my questions were stupid (even when I researched the question beforehand and showed her the work I had done). I really wouldn't recommend her if you don't have to take her.
The class is pretty tough but if you do all the work and don't fall behind you will be fine. 3 test are worth 75% of your grade so you have to study or it will kill your grade.
ACCT200 is a hard class and this was the second time I had to take it. Anderson is definitely the professor to have though don't make that mistake. She's not the nicest professor but she teaches you what you need to know.
She gives quizzes at the end of every class. Quizzes are in groups of 3, though. Tests are 50 MC questions, but she's very good at making trick answers. Online homework is hard, but you should get a 100 on every one. The homeworks have a "Check My Work" option that will show you what's right or wrong before you submit it. Great teacher.
Ellen is terrifying for the first week of classes, she spends the majority of her time tell everybody they're going to fail. With that being said, the tests are 50 multiple choice and easy to pass. Do the homework blanks in class and you'll be fine.
Easy class if you keep up. literally straight memorization
If you need an accounting credit take no one other than Anderson. She is hands down the best teacher for the course and even is the head professor for writing the exams. She is very straightforward and intimidating and it rubs some students the wrong way, but, if you ask questions, she is very nice and makes sure you understand the material 100%
ACCT200 is a hard class no matter who you take, but i think Anderson is a great choice. She explains the material well and tells you exactly whats going to be on the test. She can go a little fast sometimes so you do have to go over it outside of class sometimes.
I'm not sure a professor could teach this subject better Anderson. She's tough but that just comes with any accounting course. Moves very quickly due to the amount of material that has to be covered. Very clear expectations of the performance she wants to see.
You may think she's harsh at first, but she is one heck of a professor. She plainly teaches you the material you need to know, often with a frank, honest attitude, but she can be funny and lighthearted sometimes. After her class, you should really know the material. Lots of in-class quizzes, so go to class.
She is to the point, honest, and sarcastic. There is no room in this class to mess around, miss assignments, or fall behind on material. The grade you get on exams, quizzes, and homework will not be curved in any way so the grade you get is the grade you get. Ellen is defiantly the professor to take for ACCT 200. Study hard and you'll be okay!
She's extremely tough, very disciplined and will constantly tell the entire class they are behind and will fail. Only take this class if you are taking 2-3 other classes, it will be your main focus. There is no free help, tutors must be paid for and she does't offer help.
Mrs. Anderson is a good teacher. However, she uses scare tactics and says you'll fail if you fall behind, but she's not wrong. You CANNOT fall behind or you'll get lost faster than you can say "accounting sucks". The class isn't actually that hard if you make studying a priority. Just put in a little extra time and effort and you'll be fine
So, I am one of the few people where accounting just makes sense in my mind. All the studying I would do is an hour or 2 right before the exam. I also went to SI sessions whenever they were offered. This class really is not that hard, and Mrs. Anderson is the best teacher out there. If you pay attention and practice you will do fine in this class.
Mrs. Anderson is not a good teacher and does not create a friendly atmosphere for students to learn in. She will ask for questions from students and will proceed to make fun of the students question. I would not recommend her to other students. Beware if you do take her your grade is made up purely by 3 exams and then home works and quizzes.
The course itself is quite difficult, but Anderson does an amazing job at explaining everything as simple as possible .
Mrs. Anderson is a straight forward instructor. She knows her stuff and the class is well designed course. I used the book to clarify topics. Just print out the slides and in-class problems. The homework is 3 or 4 problems but she only takes up one of them. Over the course we had 20 quizze but she lets you work with 2 or 3 people. Great Class!!!!!!
Anderson is a very good professor, but this class is extremely difficult. If you do not pay attention in class, you will not pass. She makes every effort to help you, and has multiple review sessions before each exam. Make sure you sit next to smart kids, because the daily quizzes are taken in groups of 3. WORK THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS! Two thumbs up.
Accounting 200 is a class every business major has to take and it is most certainly hard. However, Ellen is THE BEST professor for this class. She will whip you into shape and prepare you for the exams, which are departmental. She is seriously the reason I made an A in this class.
Mrs. Anderson is your best bet for this class. She is a very good teacher and is very accessible outside of class. Accounting 200 is very hard, but if you are taking it she is your best bet at success.
Though Mrs. Anderson may come off a little strong at times, she means very well. Accounting is a very hard subject for many (myself included), but she does her best to teach it well. You're allowed up to 6 absences without penalty, but it is super important to be in class as much as you can. You gotta work for it, but you can do it if you try.
Accounting is so hard, but Anderson is the best teacher for acct200. Her class is the hardest I've had so far and the tests are insane. She likes to make questions to trick her students, so watch out for that, she also likes to say things like if you don't know what's going on you will fail and scare her students into studying, but take her!
If you plan on majoring in accounting I highly suggest you try to get in Mrs. Anderson's class. She is a great teacher. You still have to put in your own effort to really learn the material for the tests but she gets you off an the right foot. She provides you with enough material to do well on the tests. Utilize the practice tests!
I am an Accounting major and was super disappointed when I was two points from an A-, and Ellen will not bump you up. You get what you get, and there are no curves on the test. I studied hard, outside of class, and usually 4-5 days before the test. She teaches it well, a bit fast, but this class is definitely passable.
Overall Accounting is just a really hard class. On the first day of class, she warned us of the difficulty of the class and that test are made to trick you. She's a funny little lady and explains things pretty well. She gives plenty of resources to prepare for tests. Attendance is taken every day and you have an assigned seat.
Take anyone but ELLEN! She's the head of the department but is an horrible teacher. She uses scare tactics to get her students to study. I would not suggest her
Accounting 200 SUCKS. Ellen is probably best choice at UT, but she still isn't great. Taught myself everything, &would study a week in advance for every test. Practice exams are key for tests. Attendance is taken everyday, and quizzes are almost every day. I would suggest going to TA review sessions when they go over practice exams.
Go to SI session or you WON'T pass. Attendance is taken everyday and there are pop quizzes once or twice a week. Ellen is very knowledgeable about accounting and teaches well, but fast. Without the SI sessions, I would not have passed this class.
Would not recommend her. I've never had such a terrible experience with a class. Unfortunately she teaches most of the intro courses. Go to class every time and expect a quiz. Know that the practice exams alone are not sufficient to prepare for the exams. Use every resource you have, including the SI sessions. Find additional practice problems.
This is my second time having Mrs. Anderson and she is amazing. Best professor I have ever had and will ever have. She only receives bad reviews because accounting is a required course and a lot of people do not understand. She wants you to succeed but she will be real with you. 3 Tests. 1 Project. And multiple attendance quizzes. Easy class.
Anderson is notorious for being a challenging lecturer. Her teaching style is unique in that she goes over everything you need to know while annotating her own notes. It can be pretty fast paced in class and tests come quick. Tests are intense and challenging. Need to study hard and follow along during the course or you'll fall behind.
