An amazingly interesting professor. She makes you want to learn more.
Very interesting teacher. Gives excellent notes. Can pass the class without the book, just take notes!!! 2 Option test: Muliple choice or essay. No HW just keep up with the notes!
Straight forward, show-up for class and learn the vocab in the book...smooth sailing

She Rocks
boring monotone voice, did not relate anything to text.
Great Teacher! Knows the subject very well! Just take good notes and pay attention. Allows students to take either an essay or M/C test. Treats everyone with respect.
you can pass the class with out the book just take excellent notes and do extra credit work. Nice lady a little spacy. A die hard republican. but do not hold it against her.lol
she's too boring
She's anything but republican
as long as you come to class you'll do fine
Great teacher. Very helpul. Class discussions are interesting. Always willing to listen to different points of view, even if she disagrees with them. Test are somewhat difficult, but if you keep up with the readings and take good notes, you'll be fine.
boring monotone voice, did not relate anything to text. <- I totally agree with this opinion. And, bad lecture notes
overall politics suck. her test are hard if you dont read the material at all. and i never really touched the book so bacially i failed the tests. the only way iwas able to pass the test is cheat off my neighbors. she also makes you do a book report.
easiest class i have taken at el camino. she gives extra credit on every test in addition to extra credit if you visit a museum. her tests are super easy, just show up to lecture. if i can get 100%, anyone can ;)
I took two of her classes and never opened the book once and got A's in both (one was honors)! That is the beauty of this teacher, she tests on her lectures! She is interesting and very helpful, trust me good PS teachers are hard to find and she is GOOD!
well let's just put it this way, I averaged over 100 on the three tests, and got a near perfect score on the book review. how much did I study for all that over a 6 week session, probably 3 hours!
Hard to stay awake but mabey the 7:45AM start time had something to do with it. Very nice and gives a LOT of information. I didn't really look at the book and still got a "B" (acually, I'm trying to figure that one out myself; not complaining
took the 7:45 am class. very boring! she was late half the time but that was fine with me. didn't read the book, don't buy it. just buy the workbook, it gives chapter summaries and key terms-that and the lectures is enough for an 'A'.
I got an A, and for the six week session I studied very little. It helps to read the book, but it more important to understand and know the keyterms. She nice, and the class was easy, but it got borring very quickly.
Her lectures are unclear, but all you have to do is read the book and do the work from the Study guide, and thats it! Her test are pretty easy!
Goes on a tangent, due to her passion for the subject. She is NOT biased in teaching or grading. Her lectures are sometimes boring, may have a lot to do with the subject! I recommend her! Her tests are easy IF you study. If not youāre doomed! As a person and teacher she is cool!
nice lady. but you need to study for her tests, lots of information. basically your tests scores is the grade you will get in the class. one book report. drops lowest test score.
Very nice lady, lectures are boring though. I got through the semester w/out reading the chapters and got an "A" easily. You have one book report.
GREAT TECHER, TAKES TEST QUESTIONS FROM THE CLASS NOTES, VERY CLEAR, HELPFUL, JUST GO TO CLASS AND YOU'LL BE FINE... EASY EXTRA CREDIT
Don't get me wrong, she is a very nice lady, but I could not stand sitting through this class. It was so boring. I watched the clock the entire time. I would recommend taking her, only if you dont care to sit through boring classes. She did not really get me inspired about the subject.
She is not boring! Encourages class participation and does grade you on how much you talk in class. She is very nice and will let you makeup tests if you have a real reason for missing it. I loved her class and will definitely take her again.
She is a very nice professor. Most of the exam questions come out from the notes she discusses in the lecture. So it's better to understand the notes you are taking, then you'll be fine.

I love Dr. Antoine! She's such a great professor! She's fun and laid back. She has a lot of personal experience and shares her stories with the students. She's completely clear to what she wants and her tests come from class notes. Come to class and study and you'll do well.
Her voice makes me so boring, so sometimes I have thought of her class. Test is somewhat easy, if you really carry textbooks and study them everytime.

Easiest class ever taken. I Didn't read any of the chapters. Offers 3 easy extra credit assignments. Class is very boring. Got an A in the class, just read the key terms after each chapter and read the notes and you will pass. She also drops the lowest test score. The hardest part is staying awake.
worst
she is not a good teacher i think
Professor Antoine is fabulous! I learned so much, and her class remains among my favorites. She's a WONDERFUL teacher, and inspired my continuing interest in political science.
Dr. Antoine is so boring and she mumbles all the time! Very hard to understand and class is lame.
all the people rating her 1's most likely failed her class. it's difficult, (but it's an honors class after all), but just go to her office hours and you'll be fine. her voice does get boring but you'll learn TONS just by listening to her.
She has very boring lectures! But if you go to class and listen to her lectures and take notes you should be fine. just make sure you take good notes and you will be fine for the tests.
Class is boring but its not difficult at all.
she was a good teacher.her lectures were interesting and sometimes she gets side tracked. just take good notes and sometimes she gives study sheets that help a lot for the test. gives you the choice to take a multiple choice test or an essay test. The study group helps a lot and she gives out lots of extra credit.
I loved this teacher. She made you think. Pay attention in class and you will do just fine. The only paper we had to write was a book review of a political book and she even gave you the outline to go by. I did learn a lot.

She was a nice person. To me her teaching style was hard. You REALLY have to take good notes, not just what she writes on the board but what she says.(If you don't have around 2 pages of notes by the time class is up you are not writing down enough)If you take good notes and study them REALLY well, then you will do good on the tests - not easy
Great Woman! I was not looking forward to taking this class but so far it really isn't that bad. Professor Antoine gets an A from me.
Her notes don't help. You should listen to her lectures in class, then do LOTS of studying on your own. Her multiple choice questions can be tricky. I'm sure that I would've enjoyed this class if it was during Spring or Fall, but this course in a span of four weeks (Winter Session) was a BAD idea.
Seems 2 know what she's talking about, but her lectures puts me 2 sleep. It was impossible for me to pay attention. I studied like a MAD MAN for her tests, but it's damn near impossible to get an A- made flash cards, extensive notes, everything. Her tests are WAY too tricky, all the answers sound the same. Ended up with a B but studied like crazy.
really helpful but you need to study alot!!!!
Fabulous teacher, very interesting! Fast-tracked this class last winter-great idea, got an A. Her lectures ARE the exams, didn't need to read the book, just used common sense and already held knowledge. She's so PC, yet can really slam the extremist right-wingers if you're listening hard enough!
Not a bad professor, seems friendly. She tests more out of her lectures than the book, so attendance is important. 4 tests (one dropped), book report, and a final. Kind of an average class.
She really didn't do much to make the class exciting. But, not a lot of work!
Snooze Fest! Do not take this class. She was so boring. She talks non-stop and sometimes you can't even hear her. She lectures on and on and when it's test time,it's like "What the heck is this?" She asks stuf that she didn't even talk about. The final is an essay, so you really have to work hard
DO NOT TAKE HER. She goes off on tangents about France, this or that. She isn't clear about anything she says or anything that she wants us to know for the test. Seriously, I don't like PoliSci but she made me hate it more. She's horrible. DO NOT TAKE HER!. She's hard.. and is.. old.. she needs to retire!
She would seem friendly at first, but don't expect cakewalk. Later on you'll find her hard even if you find her easy at first. In her class you would also have to do a symposium project and one day she would have each and every student pick a political topic to do a public speaking project on.
THIS PROFESSOR IS A GOOD PROFESSOR, BUT SHE GRADES KIND OF HARD. HER VOICE IS HARD TO HEAR DURING HER LECTURES SO SIT TOWARDS THE FRONT. THERE CAN COME A TIME WHEN YOU HAVE TO PICK A POLITICAL EVENT TO DO A PUBLIC SPEAKING PROJECT ON. WELL, SHE SOMEHOW REMINDS ME OF SOMEONE'S GRANDMOTHER A LITTLE.
This class is not hard if you study...imagine that. I would recommend sitting in front and reading or at least looking at the chapters before class. Her lectures are kind of boring but you get study guides for all the tests and she drops one. She does not grade hard! You can choose between an essay test or a multiple choice/fill in the blank tests.
Very Boring but relatively easy... read the book and take the essay exam to get a better grade
Great teacher really knows what she is talking about. Sometimes you will drift off and be lost on what she is talking about. But you learn lots of International Relations.
Great class! Just read your book and you'll be able to pass with flying colors. Class is not mandatory, and there is extra credit possibilities. She is an awesome teacher, and can help you out during class hours and office hours.
Sweet old lady, but incredibly boring 80% of our class could not stay up. It was very difficult to understand her... But she was still, a sweet old lady!
this is the most most worstest teacher i ever had at el camino, i just cant understand how come shes being teacher school should dissmiss her as soon as possibel. only thing that i can tell everyone is that dont take her, ok??
im taking this class now and let me tell you, i have NO idea how you can even take notes on her lectures. She mumbles and goes off on tangents most of the time
she is a sweet old lady but let me tell you she can not teach at all she tries to lecture but her lecturing is not good at all she gives you a study guide but the test are totally different she gives you three chaptrs at one time her class is just a pure joke i would not recommend her class to my worst enemy stay away!
Dr. Antoine is a very sweet older woman. This class is a bit boring, but Unless you adore poli.sci. Icannot imagine anyone LOVING this class, nonetheless it's a requirement. Its impossible to fail her class with some effort put in.Mostly everything is directly out the book, if otherwise she'll let you know during lecture. Her exams are extremely fair.
Professor Antoine is a very sweet lady. It is really easy to get an A or a B in this class. Just study your vocabularies from the chapters, and understand what she puts on the board. Everything will be on the test. Her lectures are from the top of her head so she does not have an outline or anything. Very knowledgeable teacher.
she isnt as hard as many may think. all you really have to do is read the chapters. she gives you a study guide and drops your lowest test grade. she doesnt take participation into an account for grades but you should go because her test material is all in her notes not all in the text.
Best teacher I've had so far. Just write down everything she puts on the board. Do the study guide and you will get an A. A lot of it is just vocabulary. She is passionate about the subject and relates it to current events. She's also very nice and approachable.
She is so boring! Everytime i step foot in her class I want to scream! She is a sweet lady, but not the best teacher. Everything that I have learned from the class is what I taught myself from reading the book. She also spends the whole class teaching her opinion other than the facts. She is the only one teaching International Relations which sucks
I don't understand know why I chose her class, especially with all the bad ratings. Her class is REALLY boring. DO NOT take the essay portion for the test, she's insane! It's quantity, not quality. She mumbles a lot and only writes key terms on the board, and she never repeats anything, it's hard to follow her! Her tests are damn hard too. =(
Loved her class. I took her class in the summer and got an A. I went to every lecture and answered every question on the study guide and asked her questions for clarification. I never read the textbook, only enough to answer study guide. She is very sweet and knowledgeable about current events. Highly recommended!!!! Study, attend class, get an A.
OUTSTANDING, Knowledgeable, helpful, fair (and easy) Professor!. Gives a decent amount of E.Credit! M.C.tests (which I opted for) are real easy!! & her explanations are v.clear! Although she leans left(Get real! she is a P.S. teacher, and will have political OPINIONS) she is V.FAIR & IMPARTIAL. Got an A+(103% after EC & curve). HIGHLY recommended!!
she is very knowledgeable at tha sametime its a bad things, she talks really fast ,not very loud and degresses of topic a lot.Her essays test are easier than multiple choice, and online assignments are difficult. She does have extra credit to raise up your grades but they are ridiculous .if u are very busy dont suggest this class!!
she mumbles a little so sit in the front of the class. her lectures are kinda boring but her study guides are great. the tests are fairly easy. over all good class to take
Very good professor! She knows her stuff. Her videos are boring, and her lectures can drag on and get a little off topic, but it is not a hard class and she does an excelent job teaching it. The tests are pretty easy. Not hard to get an A.
GREAT prof to talk to outside of class...lectures can be rather rough though. Textbook a mandatory read if you want to get by in class. Lectures only good if you participates. However, lots of extra credit opportunities, so A's are possible, and no homework to speak of; just a few tests, a couple quizzes and a paper.
i took this prof. for poli sci- 1 and 10...best teacher ever!!!!!!... I love Dr.Antoine.. she is so helpfull and easy way to getting extra credit for the class. the text book a must!!. but if u have problems with $$$ and needed to wait for your boook to arrive form amazon.. like i did... she is very understanding.
Antoine is very nice, but you need to pay attention in class and take down good notes. Her exams aren't that bad, but you need to read the text and study the notes taken in class. Do the extra credit and just keep with the reading and you should do fine. Her study guides are very helpful so follow along those q's as you're reading.
In order to succeed in this class you must A). sit in the front. B). Right down everything she says in her lecture (voice and board notes. understand and memorize this. C). Memorize the stuff in the columns of the book (captions and key words and etc.).
She is a really nice lady but her teaching style can put the world to sleep. Make sure you read the book, its a kind of boring read but it will serve you well on the tests. Her lectures basically encompass what the book says but she jumps around so you wont know whats going on. Overall pretty good teacher but I would recommend taking someone else.
Very intelligent professor. However, having said that, if you are 2nd year student looking to transfer, stay away from this class, its not easy and you WILL get lazy, because you are about to transfer. Reading the textbook is a must because her lecturing is all over the place. I strongly do NOT recommend taking this course unless you are passionate
Knows her stuff, but is a bit boring. Won't say you have to attend every class, but helps if you want to narrow down on the reading. She roughly goes over what sections are important. Big research paper in class, but honestly it is not hard at all. I would say I mised about a 3 weeks in this honor class and still got away with an A.
Approachable, intelligent and willing to work with students. I found that her lectures helped to add dimension to the material in the textbook, but your mileage may vary. There are some lectures you are almost guaranteed to find boring. Regardless, if you are interested in the material, this is a class well worth taking.
She's really a sweet person. While she makes her opinion abundantly clear, she does slam both sides of politics. I never read the book and still received an "A". Get a recorder, sit in front, and you must take thorough notes as most of her tests are on the notes. I liked her objective tests- there are usually a few extra c. questions.
She is the best. It is better to learn from someone who experienced many of the things others only read about. If you don't "get" her, perhaps it's you. Listen, take notes, get your head off your desk, stop texting and you will do just fine.
This professor is so intelligent! She knows her material very well and a lot about what has to do with what is being taught. Yes the lectures are long and may seem overwhelming, but what do you think college is about? You should be glad to have a professor who knows what she's talking about. 4 exams, 1 final, 2 essays and there's ex crdt. That's it
I loved Ms. Antoine, though I was in the minority. She is sooooo smart and if you like the subject, you will enjoy the class. If you hate the subject, you will hate her and the class. All you need to get an A is study a little, it really wasn't that hard. I didn't study ever and still got an A. She is a sweet ole lady and I hope she is well.
knows her stuff but her lecture will put you to sleep. she's monotone and half the class is not even paying attention to what she is saying. stduy the study guide and you'll be fine!!!
Dr antoine is s gem. still give her hugs in the hallway! you must pay attention, and any bad reviews are from people who didn't bcs all it takes it listening to lectures and you will do well! seems hard on students but actually far from, just talk to her!! saw her let people turn in late assignments on numerous occasions...
Dr. Antoine is a superb teacher/professor. Out of the ten prof. I studied under, she has taught me the most in only six weeks. People truly looking to learn about politics and government will do well in this class.
This class is o. She really knows her stuff but can ramble on about her point of view instead of teach. If you study your notes and do the extra credit then you should be able to get an A. she gives a lot of extra credit points so do them!
4 exams drops lowest, cumulative final but she gives a study guide to tell you what exactly to study. Pay attention to lectures, write down everything she put on the board and you will do fine. It will be an easy class if you pay attention and do one book report. She gives extra credit. I would recommend her, she is straight to the point.I got an A
If you show up and take the notes she writes on the board. Its an easy A. She is VERY intelligent and the lectures are interesting. Her voice is sometimes too soft to hear from the back row though.
She doesn't actually teach. She just goes up and talks about her biased political views and tries too hard to manipulate the students at the expense of getting quality information. Other than that her class is pretty easy if you get the general ideas from the textbook. Tons of extra credit opportunities.
sweet, nice lady :) but isnt really clear, so its kind of hard to take notes, while taking notes is the most important thing in her class. got a B in her class, had a hard time taking notes. you can choose the exams, multiple choice or essay, but final is gonna be essay
Great teacher. VERY NICE and SWEET. WILLING TO HELP. take her!!
Ellen was encouraging and helpful teacher. Has a broad view about the subject and genuine interest in her teachings. I really liked being her student. Haven“t seen her since 1993.
All she does is talk and talk and talk. Her class is mainly lecture and about four tests. She wasn't helpful at all and you only use the book to read it. If you can stand 2 hour lectures everyday then you don't need the book but if you can't get the book. I don't ever want to take her again.
I took her for the honors international relations course. She is extremely knowledgeable, and gives very interesting lectures. There is a lot of reading involved, but just show up to class and take good notes during the lecture and you should be fine. I got an A.
Professor Antoine is a sweet old lady and is very knowledgeable. It can be hard to take notes, but the objective tests are extremely easy if you know the key words (in bold)from each chapter. It can get a little boring but overall not too bad. I would take her again.
I took her during winter semester n i can tell i was crazzy. However, i managed well. Her test has two parts, 1. Objective test( multiple choice, fill in the blank, etc) 2. Essay questions. I took essay test n i think it is much easier than objective. Ithe questions are exactly same as study guide. Fill in the blank is hard
I took her winter PoliSci 1 Honors course. It was definitely a lot of reading, and you have to turn in a summary of each chapter. She is extremely knowledgable, as well very nice and understanding of her students. Tests are pretty straight forward. Do the study guides ahead of time and you will get an A!
Sweet lady. Knows what she's talking about. I took her winter honors course and had great discussions. I think it depends on the class, but ours wasn't boring at all contrary to the other comments. Grades fair, just study. Attainable A with some genuine effort.
Antonie is a very nice person, but very, very unorganized and very forgetful, looses tests and homework, lectures are vague, and she rambles, and she's hard to hear, so sit close to the front if you can. The class isn't very hard, but due to her lack of organization and forgetfulness, you'll need to stay on your toes. Not the best.
Very nice professor, I saw that she was really understanding with her students. There is little homework other than the reading-assignments, so if you study I can't imagine this class being super hard. She offers extra credit. Do make sure you sit near the front; she is a little hard to hear from the back of the class.
pretty easy class. she tends to rant a bit so jus copy down what she leaves on the board and you're good. also she doesnt care much on attendence
took her class last semester for short term. it is a lot of reading, but write down everything she puts on the board and everything she lectures on will be on the text!!! I am not kidding.
This class is very hard if you do not pay attention. She writes stuff on the board, but she is very monotone and hard to not fall asleep in class. If you are interested in this subject, she is very knowledgable. Don't take this class if you're looking for an easy "A".
very good, awesome!
Her class is great. I found her lectures to be interesting and helpful. I liked that she included a lot of personal stories to clarify the subject she was lecturing on. She is very helpful and kind. All you have to do to get an A is read the book and take notes on her lectures. Definitely recommend her!
Okay, it is IMPOSSIBLE to take notes from her lectures because she jumps around too much. I would advise future students to take a laptop and type your notes. You must also READ the textbook. It is literally the only way you'll survive. She put some guy to sleep everyday haha...and he sat right in front of her. She's kind but demanding.
Many students comment how her teaching style is hard to follow but honestly she is lecturing at the true four-year level! So if you want to transfer, this is what you should expect! Other than that, READ, write the chapter summaries, go to office hours, and write good notes and you should be fine.
Antoine is extremely knowledgable and teaches at the 4-year level. Unless you have experience with that style of lecture, it can be a hard adjustment. Read the chapter BEFORE the lecture. Her lectures are not to teach the material, but to supplement it. There are 3 tests, a 10 pg research paper, map quizzes, and chapter summaries. I recommend her!
Took her Poli Sci 1 Honors class in summer. Shes very nice and willing to help. You gotta read the textbook for the tests. There were total of 4 tests (3 are multiple choice, and 1 is an essay test) She drops one of the multiple choice tests that has the lowest grade. I regret procrastinating on the research paper, so start early! I recommend her
Took her during the sumer and it was easy if you read the CHs and pay attention. Research paper is on any political topic. One essay test (take it on Political Interest Groups) and 3 multiple choice (study vocab, events, laws).. some fill in the blank. Very nice teacher but some what hard to keep interested in class.
very unclear when she's teaching. doesn't write much on the board and when she does its too small to read. no real study guides for exams. doesn't speak very loud and often mumbles to her self. not good for visual learners. don't get up during class it'll only confuse her. don't take notes just read the book if anything. notes are very unrelated.
If you're a great learner, this is the class for you. If you want to get a feel of a university class, this Is the class for you.
Im being dead serious the only thing she does is talk for an hour and a half every single day. Not ever her study guides are helpful. I've studied them for so long and when I took the test I got a C. It's also ridiculously boring.
Read the book on your own & study the vocabulary. That's pretty much how you'll be able to pass the class with a decent enough grade. Her study guides are confusing so you're better off without it. Exams are split into 3 parts. Multiple choice, Mix & Match, & Fill in the blank. This excludes the Final. May the force be with you.
Her opinions get in the way of her being a good teacher. This makes it espically hard to understand her class when your taking political science.
Is all up to the student to read the book to understand the chapters and terms. Go to S.I and office hours she's very understanding and has a good memory. Most important when you start don't give up she will take notice of your effort.
She is extremely boring i would never take her again. She made me lose interest in the subject i failed her class because it was impossible to stay awake
Go to SI sessions and score high on her 3 test
Absolutely brilliant! She got her Ph.D. at John Hopkins and it shows. You must read the textbook to be able to follow along with the lectures and to participate in the class. Her lectures go in-depth into American government and she fills her lecture with US History to give students a deep understanding of this nation. Take her if you are serious.
While her course is 100% listening and writing, sometimes I found it difficult to pay attention during lecture. She is a sweetheart, but it was a lot of studying on my own, personally. I would highly recommend making friends in her class so you could get anything you missed. Three tests, a book report, and extra credit is available.
She doesn't have any specific study schedule so it's kind of hard to keep track on what she is teaching. Reading book helps you a lot but still not sufficient without her lecture. I tried to take notes in her lectures but she mumbles and speaks softly, so even sitting in first row i was unable to take notes. Basically, "learn on your own" class.
Her lectures were her only talking through out the whole time and writing basic key points on the board. The class never understood what she was saying or trying to "teach" us about. Everything was unclear and majority of the class dropped it, from going to a full class to having only about 15 students staying. DON'T RECOMEND TAKING THIS CLASS!
She's a sweet lady but she can get really unorganized and distracted. I, along with 3 or 4 students in the class, had to ask 10 to 15 questions a class for clarification. If you pay attention and study hard, you should not fail. An A might be hard to get though. She missed so many classes, the week before the final was a lot of cramming chapters.
