If you can get Ms. Brunet, by all means do so! She's an excellent teacher who knows her stuff & wants you to understand history. She puts more emphasis on the actual event, not the date it happened on. You'll like her...I promise!

I took this Teacher for both parts of History and I found her to be a very good teacher. You learn alot that isn't in the text book. You walk away having learn something. The study sheet is basically the exam. Just take good notes and you will get a good grade. I recieve two A's from both courses.

She's one of the few teachers that you will enjoy here at HCC. Her test is from the notes he lectures. You don't even have to buy the text which is pretty expensive and her class is enjoyable. I highly recommend for you to take her class.

I took this class during summer school. She is an awesome teacher. She lectures the whole time, but she is so funny. Lets you out early and an easy grader. Go to class and you will do fine.

Dr. Burnet was hands down one of the best teachers I've ever had. She's TOUGH, but you will learn A LOT. This isn't the class for the lazy but she really knows her stuff. If you hear anything otherwise it's most likely because the student couldn't handle the the class. Definitely take her class.

She is completely kick ass. I took both of her history classes at the same time. Before every exam I went over my key terms on www.u-s-history.com, to give my notes the extra bang they needed so I could own the tests. I worked and talked to her every class and the experience was awesome for me.

I took both of her classes (hist 2301, 2302). You DON'T have to buy a textbook. She talks a lot, meaning, you gotta take a lot of notes. All her questions from her exams are from the notes. She even gives you a STUDY GUIDE. There's a internet assignment, and a book review. you can read the spark notees, know how to write well, and you're good .

History is boring, plain and simple. This professor has actually managed to make it interesting. She gives great lectures which aren't monotone and sometimes quite funny. I'd highly recomment her for History or Western Civ.

I took Her class Fall'06 and she is exactly what everyone said she would be, EASY. If you want an A or B TAKE HER CLASS she hands out study guides weeks before the test her test are VERY EASY exactly like the study guide. DONT BUY THE BOOK! Test are hard unless you actually study her study guides. You must study to pass. She lectures a lot but she is nice other than that. Class is mandatory if you take a night class.

Dr. Brunet rocks! She is passionate about her subject, is a compelling speaker, and has an endearingly thorny and sarcastic demeanor and sense of humor. I took both of her US History classes in '07-'08 and aced both of them in no small part due to her really knowing what she's doing. Cannot recommend her enough!

She is brilliant at her work. I love how she integrated some English History with State History. It made made the class feel like story time. Her testing methodologies are easy peasy. If you take notes and go over them everyday, you got it made. Oh, and essays. Fun. :P Jump right in for a blast.

I took her last semester and I do not regret it. She is the funniest teacher I have ever met. Just take notes and read two books. She also gives you the review for test which is the same as the test. I got an A in her class. If you want an A you have to like history though, I do love history :)

FUN professor.... when she shows up. She cancels class a LOT without notice. I think we've missed 6+ classes now. Exams are EASY except for the essay which you memorize prior. Lecture outlines and exam study guides are on her learning web, but everything is based off her lectures so take notes. She curses and is a GOOD professor. Take her!

Awesomely passionate lady! Even when she's not feeling well she makes class fun. No textbook required & the test reviews are exactly like the test. She does curse so if you don't like that then.. yeah. She does miss class but she moves back test dates & removes from the test whatever we could not cover. I highly recommend Professor Brunet :)

Really easy A. Just take notes and do the exam review. Be careful though, there's only 4 tests so if you mess up in even one of them..there goes your A. But the tests are really easy, you'll be fine if you do the reviews.

I dreaded taking this class at first because I hated history. Then this crazy teacher comes along and chats with the students about how she's got a headache and gripes about stuff totally unrelated to history. Then when you least expect it *BAM* she gives you the most passionate and insightful history lectures(which her tests are based on.)

This class is so EASY you are either lazy, slow or don't go to class if you get a B, seriously. Her tests are three short answer and one essay in which you have to write about the topic, if you write anything relevant to the topic you will get a 100. She is so cool and chill, she's hilarious! It is NOT difficult, it is the easiest class EVER.

I really liked Dr. Brunet, she requires for you to do a lot of critical thinking, which I have found very useful in many of my classes. She does not require for you to purchase the book, and you really don't need to since her lectures are pretty awesome. She puts up her lecture outlines with the the main point which are very helpful

I took her summer class. She was hot. Never require textbook but attendance is mandatory. Lectures outlines are posted online and she gave lecture based on them. All tests are in essays form, but questions will be given before the exam so that you can prepare first. No extra credits for her class, but her tests are fairly easy.

Awesome lecturer, rather sarcastic sense of humor; kept me interested in a subject I usually am totally bored by. Only three or four tests, half from selected reading (with months beforehand to read it) and half from lecture (with reviews that are exactly the test). HOWEVER, the tests are all essay, so if you aren't a writer, don't take the class.

Eccentric yet excellent professor.She will engage you & force you to use your brain,so don't leave it at home.DO NOT take if you can't write decent essays as there are NO multiple choice exams.All exams are essay style (1 paragraph x3 topics plus one essay chosen from 3 options).She posts a review weeks before the exam and it is IDENTICAL to final.

I really enjoyed her class. I took history I last year, and couldn't wait to take history II with her this semester. She is the only teacher that I have had, that is very clear and precise about what she wants us to learn, and will NEVER put you to sleep. Her method of teaching keeps you awake, and what you do learn sticks with you.

I managed to pass her class with an A. However I didnt receivve grades untill the last withdraw weekend. She never covers exactly on the syllabus but her lecttures are incitefull. Make sure to take notes on lectures and READ ASIGNED BOOKS! Many students didnt read the books and recieved poor grades.

Very compatible discussion format class. Her sense of humor keeps you awake and listening. Those complaining that she didn't care are complaining because they didn't ask questions about the assigned lecture when she asked for it. Her tests are fair as long as you READ THE DAMN BOOK! I took HIST 1301 in the summer with Ms. Brunet. We had a midterm and final which are easy if you study key terms and lectures! Ms. Brunet explains any questions or concerns about the lectures. As long as you participate in class discussions, you are good to go. Essays are also easy if you read the correct material. Overall, she is a great teacher!

I would take her class again. She assigns a lot of reading, but this is a history class and you should be expected to read. I did not receive my midterm or book report essays until right before the end of the semester. Therefore, I was concerned I may not have been doing well in the class.

Prof Brunet is a clear and concise professor and the expectations are very clear. If you pace yourself, are accurate and efficient and do exactly what is required you will succeed. Whilst it is reading intensive and research oriented there is no excuse not to be grateful. Prof Brunet is a high quality professor and will look for her next course.

Decent professor. You will have plenty of reading to do though. You have time to do it as long as you plan accordingly. 6 essay assignments so the grading is pretty clear cut. You have to read what she provides along with 2 books that you must buy. One is free and the other is only like $3. If you are taking 3 courses top I would recommend her.

Easy class. There's only four assignments, so make sure you do all of them otherwise your grade will suffer. I took this in place of Philosophy, and I feel like it was as great choice.

Easy easy easy A. She's crazy, very blunt, rarely comes to class. But if you don't choose her for History you're missing out. There's only 2 books exams, 2 chapter exams, and a final. Book exams are self-explanatory, just read the book. Chapter and final exam outline is given a week in advance. Plenty of time to write our what you wanna say.

Ellen does not play! I enjoyed this class because she gave us the work and it was not hard as long as you read. She does grade tough but there are plenty of easy assignments to make up for one or two bad ones. I took this class as an 8wk course online. Do yourself a favor!!

The professor basically did all the work. All i had to do was reread her notes and write down my own ideas. There is no txt book just her notes. I wish i could take her throught my college years.

Honestly, this is the best class I've taken so far in college, this was a quick summer course. Read 2 short books, give analytical essays about them from your perspective, you don't even have to quote the book. There's also a midterm and a final, those also are demanding from an analytical perspective, meaning that be ready to voice your opinions.

She was a solid teacher, nice and understanding. She is responsive with emails. She does have you read a lot and lots of essays! Her expectations are clearly written on her syllabus. I took her for online course, and overall wouldn't mind having her again. Not so much as an easy A, but just do the work and she grades pretty fairly.

This professor was great. She was willing to talk to you individually after class to improve your grades and was very helpful. She also made the course very interesting.

Only four assignments for the 8 week class are critical analysis essays. If your good at those it'll be an easy A for you. I'm not too good at essays and have an 87 after the first two.

I took this as a last 6 weeks course. Lots of reading, but the essay topics are simple and clear. This is an easy class, if you actually do what you're supposed to. You can't expect to google everything! She's a tough grader, but put in the work and you will get the grade you want. 4/5 stars from me.

I took her for a end of the semester fast track class. Everything is in essay format, which is easier, however she is a very tough grader. She only gave feedback on the first two papers, so that left me unable to improve my last two papers. I'm a writer, and the lowest grades i've ever gotten on papers have been in her class. Good class but hard!

Its a straightforward class, you are not bombarded with work. There were 2 assigned book exams, one midterm and a final (all essays). I did not read every chapter from the textbook (that's academic abuse) but I did read a total of 3 chapters because the prompts were specific. The assigned books are good, read those. Easy A if your essays are good.

I took Ellen Brunet for HIST 1301 online. Before signing up for this class, I read all of the reviews (as I am sure you are doing) and I was overwhelmed by the number of negative reviews she had. However, I had to choose her class as a last resort and I am glad I did. In all honesty, her class is not hard if you know how to write and analyze books.

Brunets online history class is by far the easiest class Ive taken at this school. All tests were essays and fairly challenging. All you have to do is read the chapters from the textbook (that she provided) on schedule and you should get an A. Theres also two short books you have to write an essay on as well but theyre interesting.

She is great at explaining without the excessive textbook reading and busywork. I would highly recommend her for people okay with writing essays, as all four tests had a written portion sometimes being combined with fill in the blank.

I started using RMP after taking my 1st semester & did not know how much weight I should be putting into reviews, so went back and checked how Brunet was rated, now I know that some of these people are lazy af. She was great lecturer, and yes, all assignments were essays, but my lowest grade was 97. She was interesting and nice, no issues at all.

Wonderful experience for anyone interested in history. Dr. Brunet uses open-source textbook material and requires a book or two (or three, in my class), all written assignments and zero busy work. If you like reading, writing, and thinking for yourself, take her at every opportunity. If you need hand-holding, seek other options.

Professor Brunet is an excellent teacher. Throughout the semester you will read three books. They are a very good read and all the exams are essays. Every week you'll do a discussion. Not a very hard class, if you read the books and turn in your assignments on time you will pass.

I took professor brunet for history 1301 fall semester (16weeks). She assigns weekly discussions, you read 2 books per semester. All of her work has to be typed, exams are over the books & has to be an essay.
