She seems like a very caring prof, however, she can care less about her students. Her lectures are okay. She skips most of the material to focus on playing little games and activities with the class of 90 and has guest speakers every lecture after the midterm. Her midterms and final were pretty hard. She gave little to no hits.
Horrible Prof please stay away if your are taking MHR405. Such an easy course made difficult by Choi.. Averages for the mid terms were 50% and she did not even show us the averages for the final because they were so bad. Worst prof Ive ever had does not explain and her lecture slides look like a high school presentation with grammar errors.
As a person Ellen is incredibly kind and caring, I really felt her passion for teaching. However the way the course is designed makes it very difficult to stay interested in the content. VERY textbook heavy, if you don't read you'll fail. She really tries her best to make the course fun but its hard to sit through 3 hours of power point slides.
She is an amazing professor who is kind and caring. If I were to rate her as a professor I would give her a 10/10. Her class on the other hand is super textbook heavy and really hard. If I were to give the class a mark out of 10 I would give a 6/10.
An amazing professor. One of the best I have had at Ryerson. The course itself is pretty dry material, but she taught with lots of enthusiasm & made sure to always clarify & make concepts extra clear. Her tests are a bit hard (short answers) but if you show up to class or re-read the text youll do great! also brings guest speakers often!!
TAKE HER FOR THIS CLASS! She is extremely passionate about OB!! Made me want to show up to class because she is just that good at giving lectures! But the midterms + final are a lot of information so get ready to put some effort in and study for it.... Thank u Ellen ! You were amazing.
She makes the material so much harder then it should be because she is unable to teach the material because she is to focused on activities rather than teaching the material. Every class there are about 3 useless activities that we had to do.
Horrible Horrible Horrible class and prof. She and her useless 85 in class exercises do not prepare you for the midterms whatsoever. Going to class is not needed, as long as you read but she thinks it is, hilarious Ellen. Her teaching is so poor that the concepts learned make no sense. Has a sense of entitlement and is extremely rude to students.
She's an amazing prof, but the course is really content heavy which many students hate which prolly explains her negative reviews. We played a lot of games and did activities to understand certain concepts in the course. Some people thought of it as a waste of time and childish but I genuinely enjoyed it.
avoid this prof. mostly reads off her condensed slides so youll have to go over the textbook for all the content in order to do well in this class! her class consisted of so many games which took up so much time and made her rush through the content. she also speaks very softly and slow with lots of pauses while teaching
Ellen is an amazing prof. She really tries to make your learn from getting you to step outside her comfort zone. Tests are very textbook heavy and and very application based however. MHR405 is a very dry course in general but Ellen tries to make it as enjoyable as possible.
It's hard to rate Ellen because the general structure of MHR405 is not the best. It is HEAVY textbook, if you don't read the textbook you won't pass. Ellen really loves her in class activities (that I didn't find personally useful) and guest speakers. I didn't find any value in going to lectures since its textbook dependant anyway. She is just ok.
Honestly, I don't know a better teacher who is as passionate to teach OB and actually cares if the students are struggling. GO TO CLASS. Trust me you want those participation marks, also she notices who cares about the class. You won't regret taking her class. Know your stuff and you'll succeed!
Ms. Choi is honestly one of the nicest and sweetest person I've ever met. She's very intelligent, and really takes the time to make sure you understand the material, and did her best to prepare us for the midterm/exam. MHR is a heavy course no matter the prof. You have to put in the work to get a good grade, but if you can, choose her.
Passed with d grade despite 33 percent in mid term and 30 in final despite it being open book. Better do well on every online quiz worth just 10 percent requiring 1 hr to complete and the 15 percent participation marks requiring answering questions from torture lectures if u want to pass, nice lady but very hard marker for exams worth 35 and 40
This course is definitely more content heavy but the prof makes it worth it. Her lectures are really engaging and she encourages participation. She is also accessible outside of class and went over the midterm with me to see what I needed to work on for the final. **Do the revel quizzes and research pool: easy 12%
Dr. Choi is an amazing professor who really wants you to succeed. The course is extremely textbook heavy so its best if you focus on that. While her lectures may be boring, they are a good overview of the content. Class participation does matter. Practice a lot of case studies and you will do well in this course.
lots of reading in this course. prof choi tries to make learning this course fun although it is very textbook heavy. attendance isn't totally mandatory but there are participation quizzes that sometimes relate to what was talked about in class.
She's is a great personality, but she never finishes the lecture in the appropriate time. We miss about half of the content because she's too busy conversing with students about content not covered on exams. A lot of technical difficulties
One of the best profs Ive ever had! She made the lectures super engaging and allowed us to apply our knowledge and actually digest what we were learning. We had live response and in class assignments for easy marks, and break out rooms and class discussions every week where we had the chance to apply that weeks reading. Definitely recommend!
Ellen is a friendly professor, who is truly kind and has the best intentions. However, given the online platform, the constant breakout rooms and group activities are tedious and do not provide the outcome she expects. I felt unprepared for the final and midterm as the format discussed in class in regards to questions are entirely different.
Ellen is an amazing prof. The course is very content heavy and you have to read like 100 pages before lecture.. but once you come into the lecture, it is fun, lots of activities. She tries to get everyone involved and one the best profs I have had
My thoughts on Ellen are very 50/50. She is a very caring, nice professor and you can genuinely tell she really cares about the class and her students. Personally, though, I do not like her teaching style, there are so many breakout rooms and activities that to me were not beneficial at all. Very interactive and participation heavy class.
Her lectures are engaging, and she is a wonderful prof. there was an issue with the final exam where it was posted an hour late and that really messed up my exam mark and threw me off game. However that was out of character for her. I ended up with a 3.67 in the course, but I know I could have gotten a 4.00. Shes usually bubbly and approachable!
I really love her because she is nice and friendly in class. However, she (or her TA) marks the exam really hard. This course material is literally heavy, so be prepared to read a lot.
She clearly put a lot of effort into her lectures and found creative ways to get her point across to help us learn. Also managed to apply what we were learning to real-life situations quite well. One of my favorite professors this semester, although she grades quite hard on exams.
mandatory attendance for her insufferable lectures. wastes an unbelievably large amount of time discussing irrelevant topics and incorporating useless games. incredibly inefficient use of lecture time; spends too much time interacting with students, which may seem like a good thing until you realize it constantly breaks the flow of the lecture.
Very hard exams with lots of content to memorize and not enough time to complete. Marks very hard.
Especially goes over important material that will be on the exam and provides real-life examples with the content. You can especially tell that she cares about her students by going out of her way to make engaging activities that bring the class together.
Definitely very kind and does her best to keep students engaged, but sometimes feels too casual and allows students to distract from lectures. Tests were harder than what was taught but still manageable. Make sure your notes are on point and you'll be fine.
Ellen is one of the few profs that really cares for her students & wants to see them succeed. Her classes are very interactive with group work & class participation. Make sure you go to class & pay attention because she will tell you what to focus on to prepare for both exams. Stuff discussed in class are the main topics of the short answers.
Honestly, she's not a tough grader, I met with her one-on-one during office hours for feedback about my horrendous midterm mark and seeing the way she grades my paper, she is honestly not a tough grader. The questions are hard to answer because she wants you to be very specific. She's always willing to help if you ask! so ASK!
Ellen was understanding towards students and some of her activities did help. She's always there if u want to reach out but remember she is not the one that marks the exams but the TA instead. Her D2L modules were great but if you're just studying those its bare minimum so be prepared to read from the textbook or else. Overall great prof!
Overall great prof and likes seeing people succeed. Her classes had many activities but some were helpful and some weren't. If you go to class you will do fine because her tips are amazing. Studying her D2L shell alone is the bare minimum so it might be a good idea to read sometimes from textbook. TA's mark exams and not her. Made my semester!
Ellen was honestly one of the best profs I had this semester! You can tell she truly cares about her students well being and listens to what students are saying. If you read the textbook and listen/participate in class you will do just fine. Without a doubt, I would take her again if I have the chance.
This class opened my eyes to a professor who understands their students and encourages them to participate and she makes the classroom a friendly place to do so. Ellen has been hands down my favourite prof throughout my university career as she respects you as a person and your time as a student and understands you to the best of her ability.
Ellen was by far the best professor I've had in all four years at TMU. Participation matters so show up and give your all to this class because she goes above and beyond to help you both academically and just in general for life. Safest and most beneficial learning environment Ive ever had. 10/10
Ellen made me want to come to class. I wish more profs were like her. She understands her students and tries to bring the best out of them.
Interactive class with a great prof that makes me want to attend class. Very fun group projects and take-home exams. This is the only class I willingly wanted to attend over the last 4 years. very caring and understanding towards all students no matter who you are. she is always open to talk about anything. Most likely the best prof I've had !
Professor Choi was amazing, she was very helpful and very understanding with all of her students. She truly enjoys teaching and cares about the well being of all her students. Definitely recommend her for the classes she teaches!
Dr. Ellen Choi is very passionate about course materials/concepts and tries to incorporate activities to further understanding of information. Good at creating a safe space for learning. However, she is not very structured. Lecture could go off tangent easily. She was also late 3 times in the semester which is more than me as a student.
Great prof, her lectures were great and I enjoyed the activities we did to help us better understand the different concepts she taught us and how they would be applied in a teamwork environment.
Awesome lectures, super interactive and makes you want to participate more. Get ready to read. Reading chapters before lectures is a necessity as she will discuss the topics of the previous chapters during class time.
She's a great prof to take in my opinion. She explains very clearly and is great, the textbook for MHR is very dry as it doesn't explain the terms properly. She explains all the important stuff in class, my tips 1) attend class and take notes 2)note any key terms 3)do the in class assignments you should be good
Of all the MHR 405 profs I believe, she is the best. You can tell she really cares about her students and is really passionate about teaching the course. The course is content heavy so beware of taking good notes and paying really good attention in class. She is super interactive with the class as she wants students to participate more.
The course grading was very easy. However, one complaint I have is how she changes the grading weights in the middle of the semester. We had bonus hand-ins during the semester and we were told they don't affect our mark if we miss a class and don't do them but then she changed it and said they do count and lowers your mark.
gave my boi a retake on the exam. #MyGoat
Her class is super interactive and she has an amazing way to teach her content. There is no midterm nor final, only simulations and a group project.
Review - Dr. Ellen Choi is a great prof who cares for her students. The course in general is easy with some lectures being fun and insightful. Beware of group projects if you don't like working with others. One aspect to improve on is feedback as she rarely provides any. Overall, I would def take her again in the future.
Overall, she's a kind prof. The material is very easy, but due to the amount of content 80-100 slides per lecture makes it difficult. The midterm was cruel, designed that even if you study, you will get confused with scenario questions. Regardless, after the midterm she fixed her mistake and started giving examples in class and flagging importance
Ellen is the most interactive prof out of all the other MHR profs. This course is lecture-heavy, take the time to make notes on lectures, do the application question assignments, and ask questions as there are many concepts you need to grasp. Attend her lectures for participation marks. Midterm and final were open-book. Overall, very caring & nice!
This course is content heavy but the exams are application based on the concepts. The way I succeeded in this class was write down which slide number she goes over in class, listen to her explanation of the concepts in class, and then write down EVERY single thing from only the slides she went over on your cheat sheet. Never read the textbook.
She is the best, the sweetest lady. Don't go into any of the exams just having written the cheat sheet as your studying, the questions are application so you're already supposed to know the material with the sheet to help you. Nothing is deceptive about her exams, she wants everyone to succeed and there are many opportunities to receive free marks.
this is my first time writing a review about a prof, but man, ellen choi is the best tmu prof! im extremely introverted and her class made me feel more confident. I appreciate her sm and yall should take her and your appreciation
Ellen is the best professor at TMU hands-down. She is inspirational, genuine, and caring. She brings you out of your comfort zone and creates a safe space to feel silly. If you like more hands-on activities, this is the class for you. Dr. Choi is a wonderful lady, 10/10 would take this course and this prof again.
Can find textbook online for free. She is the only prof available for this class so you cant do much but just hope you get a good group. She herself is ok, but I did not feel like I learnt anything honestly. But overall easy A.
SHE IS THE GREATEST PROF AT TMU NO DOUBT. Her class was my end of week therapy for sure. She changed things around to help people during the semester and did not mind extending due dates. I absolutely loved her and her class.
Don't trust any of the bad ratings about her. She is amazing! I attended every lecture, but you're good, if you cannot attend every single one. However, you do need to participate and give in some effort into the group portions of the course. Moving over, you can talk to her about anything and she is very accommodating.
She's an amazing person and a great lecturer. The course can be tough for some people, but as long as you put in effort you should be able to receive a good grade. Attendance is mandatory for in-class assignments and she also encourages her students to participate by doing activities / thinking experiments.
Professor Choi is a weird one for sure. On one hand she's an okay lecturer, but on the other hand she has a very odd psychological view on things. I assume she gets too carried away in her thoughts and rambles onto personal stuff, making that an area for improvement. She also has weird underlying biases like sexism, racism, etc.
Ellen Choi is often overly-enthusiastic and tends to overshare on things such as her personal life. She also takes pride in making students feel uncomfortable acting as if it's a "lesson" for organizational behaviour. Her slides are okay and are enough to study for exams.
Ellen is very difficult for no reason and takes pride in making students feel uncomfortable in her class. Take any other professor if you actually want to learn.
Okay, wow, where do I even begin?Ellen is 100% way too over enthusiastic, tends to ramble on random stuff from her personal life, and be prepared to get randomly picked! She did a random attendance check, in class without any announcements. DO NOT TAKE HER, thats especially if you think you're introverted. Have or make a friend on day one. Trust me
Ellen is one of the worst profs at TMU. She isnt a good teacher, so you basically just study off the slides and textbook. She picks on random students like it gives her personal satisfaction, and even tries to passively humiliate them if they answer wrong. Her classroom environment creates an uncomfortable dynamic, would not recommend.
She does random attendance checks and will take marks off your final grade if you dont attend class. If you happen to attend class, be prepared to be randomly chosen to answer questions. She also often comes to class unprepared and will lazily go over her slideshows. One time she showed up in pyjamas and started yapping about random stuff
I wouldnt wish Ellen Choi's class on my worst enemy. She is a terrible teacher and makes students feel uncomfortable. She thinks its a beneficial learning style but it's counterintuitive; she oversteps social boundaries. Overall she's an unprofessional professor and you will only get by in her class by reading the textbook and studying the slides.
Ellen isnt a great prof. Be prepared to experience the worst teaching of ur life. I still did good, but her teaching isnt all that great. Overtime of the semester she created this weird sexist dynamic through her class activites. She also shows favouritism to women. This all sounds CRAZY but it'll all make sense when ur actually in her class.
Take Ellen if you enjoy having a biased teacher who can't teach. In her class, you have two options: show up to class & sit through a terrible "lecture" where she talks about unrelated topics half the time & picks on her students, OR don't show up to class and get hit with random attendance checks where she deducts marks off your final grade.
Ellen is just OK. She isn't good at teaching but the course is fairly straightforward. Most of the time she talks about unrelated stuff to the lecture, which is a bummer because she makes attendance mandatory. So you'll end up showing up for a 2-3hr lecture just to be read *whats exactly on the slides*. Overall, I would not take her class again.
I earned an A in her class, however I don't let that affect my opinion on her as a teacher. Objectively, she's BAD. The *mandatory* lectures were straight from the slideshow, without any added value. More often than not, she turns the lectures into a personal therapy session where she rants about her personal life. Unprofessional and frustrating.
Terrible. I read some positive reviews about Ellen, & decided to take her class, which ended up being a bad decision. She isn't good at teaching, & she enjoys making people feel uncomfortable (seriously). She is an unprofessional lecturer overall. Showing up to classes with pyjamas only to rush through the slideshow isn't a good look.
Professor Ellen truly changed my life. As a 3rd-year HR student, I've never had a class that made me reflect so deeply. Her thought-provoking lessons helped me understand myself before others. I especially grew in self-awareness and listening. She creates real, lasting impact.
I would STRONGLY advise against taking Ellen's class. If being a lazy and unprofessional teacher were an art, she'd be Picasso. It's been multiple instances where she'll show up to class late, rush through her slideshows, and leave early to take care of her personal life. It's clear she doesn't take her job seriously.
In Ellen's class, the expectations are there for students. You must show up to class on time, ready to participate in every discussion. However, the same efforts aren't reciprocated by the professor. She spends half the time talking about topics completely unrelated to the lecture, and will cut class early *without teaching* to go do her own stuff.
I don't know whats up with Ellen, but the Winter 25' semester with her was absolutely horrid. I hated every second of it. She constantly crosses boundaries and creates an awkward class vibe. Not to mention her mandatory attendance for her horribly prepared lectures. You don't learn anything from her teaching, she just reads off the slides.
I personally had a bad experience with Ellen. She doesn't really teach which is extremely disappointing, considering her entire class revolves around mandatory attendance and class participation. Most of the times I showed up to class, she ended up talking about completely random stuff + reading off the already-posted slideshow. 1/5 stars.
I agree with the other students, her lectures aren't really beneficial which is extra annoying since she makes attendance mandatory. I guess she enjoys having a crowd to talk to about her and her husbands relationship issues. (Seriously, she once spent 15 minutes talking about how she nags her husband to clean the dishes) Unprofessional teacher.
Dr ellen is talented with a different lecture style. She wants to connect to her students on a deeper level. Connecting socially in a classroom is a valuable skill. I only had a few interactions with her, but she still noticed me which makes me think she tries to do that will her students. Advice I give is try to be objective with all students.
It's honestly frustrating paying tuition only to have professors like Ellen Choi come to class unprepared. She mostly reads off slides with minimal explanation or engagement, making lectures feel wasted. Not to mention how she goes on multiple tangents about unrelated topics. Her teaching style isn't for a lot of students, so I wouldn't recommend.
i went to every lecture of ellens, and earned a high A in her class. however, imo the lectures added close to zero value, which sucks. her teaching doesnt really add anything beyond the slide deck, yet attendance is required for mini in class assignments. my advice is to write the key points and definitions on ur cheat sheet. overall, shes bad.
One of the worst profs for MHR405, she doesnt actually teach u the concepts. Take another prof or Switch immediately if you can
Had ellen for MHR405. She doesnt teach you the concepts but rather reads off the slideshow, turning the course into an independent self-study. This would be a fine idea, however the fact that she takes credit off your mark if you dont come to her lectures where she narrates the slideshow is insane.
Lectures were disorganized and hard to follow. Didn't explain concepts clearly and seemed uninterested in helping students. Grading was harsh with little feedback. If you're looking to actually learn the material, consider another professor. Her lectures are close to useless, which is ironic considering the required attendance for credit.
This course was poorly structured and lacked academic clarity. Lectures did not align with assigned materials, and assessments felt arbitrary.
People often take it out on her when they dont get the grade they wanted, but shes actually a great lecturer. She explains concepts really clearly and applies it to real life so its easy to remember for exams, her class is extremely interactive but you can always pass. Honestly if you just pay attention in lectures you can easily get a high grade.
I got an A- in Ellen's class & still didn't enjoy her as a teacher. Her lectures are quite literally designed to make you feel uncomfortable because she wants to get students out the box. However, this isn't a right fit for everyone. Also, she didn't really teach, and only went over the slideshow during the 3 hour window. 1/5 rating is appropriate.
Ellen is one of the worst teachers in all of TMU, no exaggeration. I had to grind 10x harder than other students in other sections just because her teaching style is so confusing, and she's the only MHR405 prof who makes attendance mandatory. She also has different curriculum and her assignments will knock off some marks if you arent perfect.
She's late for almost every class, and also was late for the final exam which is bonkers to me. Really exposes her level of professionalism. During the final exam, she accidentally made it password locked and delayed it for 20mins, which deducted our examination time, and ultimately made it more difficult to compose coherent answers. Horrible prof.
How are people like Ellen allowed to be professors? She doesn't teach at all, and likes to harass her students. She also is late to everything, shows up in pyjamas to class, and also cuts class early after not teaching anything. She doesnt take this job seriously and will make ur semester with her feel like hell.
had her in 2025, shes really really bad. i didnt learn anything in the class and her lectures were useless. i ended up with an A- but it was entirely bcuz of self study. read the textbook and do the online quizzes and youll do well. also to note. she did take time off our final exam which was weird.
SWITCH OUT IMMEDIATELY IF YOU'RE TRYING TO LEARN!!!! She is god awful at teaching and only reads the slideshow. Her and her TA's also have an extremely subjective grading scheme that will give you a disappointing grade on assignments if you make little mistakes.
Awful teacher, but luckily MHR405 is a relatively easy course. I did well by reading the notes, textbook, and slideshow, her lectures are kinda trash, she doesnt explain things well and its more often than not a waste of time. I showed up to every lecture and barely got anything out of it. Overall, 1/5 stars
She wasnt the greatest, her teachingg style is really unorthodox and if you are more introverted, then you probably will not enjoy her class. There are tons of MHR405 profs so dont worry, you have great options to choose from. Regardless, ellen is mediocre at best for teaching and this course heavily relies on self study.
TERRIBLE. Shes probably the worst out of all MHR405 profs available, I talked to my friends in other sections and they all had the same syllabus. and ellen's was the odd ones out. She has a much harder grading scheme and course in general, and there is a mandatory textbook which is around $110 with tax.
She frequently cuts classes early because she says she has to run her own errands. This is great if you want to leave early for some reason, but if you're trying to actually learn and get value for your tuition, then it's a disappointing outcome of choosing Ellen as your MHR405 prof. You will barely learn anything in her lectures.
Easy class but bad prof. Attendance is mandatory. There is a textbook you have to buy which is around $100. 2 exams which are fairly difficult, but not impossible. Be aware that her lectures are nearly meaningless and she just reads whatevers on the slides. So you'll have to do a fair amount of self studying to get a good grade.
Ellen is just okay. Not great but not horrible either. Her teaching style and ability to convey the material clearly is very bad but shes enthusiastic... i guess. Take her if u want to have fun, but u wont learn anything valuable. Like other ppl said u have to self study a lot cause shes super bad at teaching in itself
I'd avoid at all costs tbh, if I could go back in time, I'd choose a different MHR405 prof to better my chances at an excellent grade. I found myself having to study extra hard in her class, since she requires in-person attendance, but doesn't really teach during the allocated time. She went off on rants a lot, and got distracted during teaching.
Tough grader who subsequently doesn't know how to teach. Her explaining concepts will not make sense to you at all, and the 3 hour lectures are genuinely a waste of time. This message isn't rooted in laziness, but rather my own observation over my semester with Ellen. She rants about useless stuff and just reads off the google slides.
Bad professor. She doesn't teach clearly.
She is one of the worst professors in the school im convinced. she couldnt teach at all and also had a very unlikeable personality.
I had ellen for both mhr405 and mhr741. She cant teach like others have said, and will often ramble about meaningless topics for a decent chunk of the allocated lecture time. She is also a fairly tough grader, and there are mandatory textbooks you must buy and mandatory attendance. I'd advise taking any other professor. Good luck if u end up w/ her
Yeah shes terrible. I barely learnt anything from her lectures and mainly used the REVEL software to study for tests. Shes really bad at explaining and often speaks about random topics for up to 15 minutes at a time.
best prof ever. easiest course ever
Its an easy course but bad professor. If u have the chance to switch out, make sure to do it before the deadline passes, or else you'll have to endure a semester with horrible teaching
She can't teach. Mandatory lectures. Would not recommend.
Terrible experience. Lectures were disorganized, grading was unclear, and the professor was unapproachable when asked for help. Made the class way more stressful than it needed to be.
i didnt like her teaching, it was very harsh for some ppl, especially the introverted students. she is very assertive and likes to "challenge" her students to participate in every lecture. it can be seen as beneficial, but some people do not enjoy that. plus her lectures werent really helpful anyways. u can study off textbook.
Almost everyone I talk to dislikes or regrets taking her class. If you want to maximize your learning and grade then try to get another professor. She definitely made this course harder than it actually is.
any upcoming students looking to form their schedules, stay away!!! you will regret taking her class. don't say i didn't warn you.
Had her first year for MHR405 and it was terrible. Lackluster teaching, *always late* to class, mandatory attendance, $120 textbook, etc. The list goes on. Also the exams are pretty tough in this class, so you might as well choose another professor to maximize your chances at a good mark. Ellen is one of the worst in TMU!
Unprofessional. Demoralizing. Inconsistent. It's tiring to be a student of Ellen's class. She will break you down class by class until you're left feeling empty at the end of the semester.
She has a lot of passion for the topics discussed in class which is nice however I personally don't like her teaching style. She's very assertive and will call on people in class randomly. Introverts or people who arent comfortable speaking in class, she isn't the prof for you.
Honestly its not that bad lots of group work n groups r randomly selected its an easy course u dont need to study before every lec class teaches things useful for life n personal growh she doesnt force anyone to speak but if u do its fun no participation marks attendance is compulsory she even takes u outside for fun activities new concept of class
One of the worst profs in the entire business school. Stay away if you can!!
Dr. Ellen Choi is the best prof i've ever had. She is funny, charismatic, and really cares for her students. Her lectures are never boring, there's always a fun activity every class (we did an ice bath once). She truly is inspirational and is the reason my future became clear to me. Idk why there are so many bad reviews, she's literally the best.
Anyone who says she's a terrible professor is just not being honest. From my experience as a student at TMU for three years, she's by far the best professor I've had. This is actually the only class I've really enjoyed, and part of what makes it so good is the group projects and the way she gets everyone involved in class.
The Most fun HR class I have ever taken. it might seem silly at first but really does teach you things that you can apply after graduation
Do not be intimidated by these reviews; her classes were absolutely life-changing. She opened the eyes of so many students, and our class was like one big family; we would get personal and emotional. If I could take this class all over again, I would, and so many people in the class felt the same!
She is amazing and speaks in a way that has you hooked the full lecture. I learned things that I'll take with me my whole life. She wants to get you out of your comfort zone, and as a true introvert, I truly do feel more confident in social settings now. Literally life changing. Wish I could take her class again and again.
she is honestly an amazing prof and is very passionate. She will pick on you randomly but it isn't all bad. Her weekly quizzes are so easy. during the exam, she was actively giving hints to the class. She cares for her students and it shows. Her cold plunge workshop is such an experience. definitely recommend especially for 741.
Very great professor and one of my favourite classes this semester. I agree with all the other recent reviews, this class pushes you to step out of your comfort zone and understand so much about yourself and those around you. If I had the chance I would 100% take another class with Ellen Choi!
Dr. Ellen Choi is an amazing prof! She really cares for her students and I personally felt connected with her. She teaches valuable lessons and makes the class super interesting. The course itself is easy, but there are a lot of assignments. I felt so inspired in every class.
Lackluster prof. I found her teaching style to be ineffective.
You're doing yourself a disservice if you willingly choose Ellen as your prof for any course.
