Greatest thing to happen to the world of chemistry, much-less the student population, she thinks!
Funny teacher, at least she thinks she is. Tests are exactly what she goes over in class and makes sure you're prepared. good teacher!!
I really think she is a good teacher, I have fun in her class.
Not only is she funny and nice, but she is a wonderful professor. She gives clear handouts that point to exactly what will be on the test. Anyone who thinks otherwise is bitter because they should be taking welding instead of Chem1B.
This is a formal PETITION requesting to drop Test #2 and all QUIZZES (whoever has the**** to stand up to the NICEST chem teacher in the WORLD! sign up) 1) STOOPID M3
She is tough but fair, not the kinda class you can just breeze through. She makes you work for your grade. She really knows her stuff and she makes being in class enjoyable; Heck she even hands out snacks in class! Overall she's a great instructor.
Big hair, big biceps, major Q T.
She's an okay teacher but not very helpful sometimes.
Prof. Kime-Hunt is a wonderful teacher if you are really intrested in chem. I could understand her explainations and she was willing to stay after class and explain things if needed. She has a great sense of humor, the class needs more things that blow up. The final is a culmulitive nighmare.
Overall a good semester. This was the most difficult class I've taken in my two years at RCC, but that's chemistry for you. As far as Prof. Kime-Hunt goes, she was a really good lecture teacher. She always asks if everybody is getting it and she's really down to earth. All chem is hard.
A very good and helpful teacher. Would love to take her class again. She did some cool experiments infront of the class. If you get a chance to take her, i'd highly recommend it.
EXTREMELY HILARIOUS,SWEET AND A GREAT GREAT PROFESSOR. very clear about the course and her hand-outs before every test are the best preparation tool. she makes chem fun, easy and there's never a dull moment in class...we love ya Dr.Kime-Hunt!! defi recommend her for all chemsitry courses.
Dr. Kime-Hunt is a very cool teacher. She's a smart a** but in a good way. Everyone likes her. Her tests are easy if you actually study and the labs are pretty fun.
Best instructor I have ever had. Chem is hard, but she makes it understable and fun. ****!
Dr. Kime-Hunt makes is the 3rd chem teacher I have had for chem 3. She is and will always be my hero. I thought that I would never like Chemistry but she made it happen and she made it fun. She gives quizzes and handouts so your grade never depends on you just your test grade. I recommend Dr. Kime-Hunt to all my fellow Science Majors classmates.
She was a great teacher. I hate chemistry, but took it to avoid taking other science classes. She was hysterical, and really easy to get along with. Explains everything pretty clearly. I would definetely take her again if I had to take another chem class. Definetely recommended.
I miss Dr Hunt's classes! They made up an extremely fun year. She's an excellent teacher...and we had an interesting bunch of students in Fall 03 & Spring 04. Juan is the loneliest number...
fun class, easy going teacher..tells u like it is
dr.kime-hunt is a great teacher. 'nuff said.
Dr. Kime-Hunt rocks, even though we tell her she sucks and we boo her when she brings us quizzes. Definitely the best chem teacher ever. hopefully she reads this and decides to bring me donuts or a BIG sandwich!!!
big hair! and very entertaining..hard class but easy to follo with her notes and office hours-g'luck!
Thorough and Applicable lectures. Brings cookies too!

Dr. Hunt has the nicest set of "beakers" this side of the Mississippi!
Dr. Hunt is a great teacher. The comments posted for her all in good fun but the way she teaches is by far the best. She's helpful and has the ability to explain things several different ways if you don't understand it the first time. To anybody that has a choice for their chem class I highly recomend taking Dr. Hunt.
There are two muffins in an oven, one of the muffins says to the other,"geez its hot in here." The other replies, "holy crap, a talking muffin!" Shes a good teacher by the way.

Excellent teacher. Very hard class, but she made the material easy and fun to absorb causing the semester to fly by.
Dr. Hunt is one of those teachers that you are thankful for. If you care about the subject, then she will always help you. Great class notes and even though the tests are hard you still know the stuff because the subject was taught so well. I was just glad i got to take her for chem 2A (lab)and 1A because I was able to enjoy the class.

The class is interesting because she is always joking around making fun of people. But she is a hard teacher and if youre dependent on your grades I wouldn't recomend her.
Dr Hunt is the best! I enjoyed her class soooo much... And I just got my grades, and she GAVE ME AN A!! I totally thought I had a B coming to me, so I am insanely excited now... I LOVE YOU DR HUNT!!!!!!! I think it might be hard to enjoy chemistry in the future though, because I just dont see how any chem class could compare to one with her.
I took Dr. Hunt for chem. 3 and absolutely loved her and the class I'm super stoked about having her for chem. 1A
She is honestly a great teacher. She is hard but you have to put in the time and study to get the grade you want. As long as you are putting in your effort to learn you should do well in the class.
She's always rushing to cover the material. Most students get the feeling she doesn't care about helping them, but thats not the case. I was in her office almost everyday and she was more than glad to help me with my questions. Overall Dr. Hunt is an amazing teacher. She's hard so you have to take the time and do a lot of studying on your own.
Great teacher! Hilarious! She simply tells it how it is, teaches the material slowly and clearly. Goes slower is people aren't getting the point. She grades her tests a tad hard though, you'll feel like you got a B, but you'll end up with a C. No homework, weekly quizes, no surprises. One of the nicest teachers I've ever had as well.
Finally! Chem1B is over! Well, I can't say my class was boring coz it really wasn't. It was absolutely fun. Of course, it's also hard. Chemistry can never be easy. However, Dr. Hunt made it fun and interesting. A student needs to exert a lot of effort in her class. But it's worth it. I'm going to miss horse-faced boy, gumby and pokey.
Simply amazing
i just took her chem class fall of 08. shes very fun and helps you understand alot of the chapters. although she does go through the chapters quite fast. i suggest that you read 2 chapters ahead it helps. very funny! kinda like a mother to make sure she gets the point across.
Great teacher, uses alot of funny examples like her famous art/drawings to teach the concepts. Requires studying, do all her hwk even though she doesn't grade it. She is extrmely helpful by providing tutoring nights out of her own time. Highly recommened teacher, just don't fall asleep in her class ;D "LEO the lion says GER"
GREAT TEACHER, hilarious, tests are just like the homework
She is the best! seriously she is amazing and teaches chem sooo well and makes it really easy!! she will explain it until u get it...and if u still dont she will draw funny pictures and act things out. shes really funny and grades fairly...take her!
This is by far the best professor ive ever had!! She was extremely helpful and very funny! She made chemistry very easy. I wish she taught all my classes!!! I highly recomend her, you wont regret it!!!
Great instruction, straight to the point info!
I read all comments about how "awsome" she is and no she really isnt. I came in ready to learn and came out tired and disappointed. Tests misleading and disconnected to worksheets and HW. I can see how soo many people can say that she is "the best thing since sliced bread" but really all that is pure hear say...look at other teachers on the firstda
Dr. KimeHunt is a wonderful educator. I had failed the same course with a different prof the previous semester. After taking her course, I should receive a strong A/B. She conveys the content in an efficient and captivating manner. She's got a wonderful sense of humor to match. Folks who feel otherwise are not putting enough effort into the course.
Dr. Hunt is probably the best Chemistry teacher there is. She is clear, efficient and makes a difficult subject interesting! Plus, funny-as-hell to boot! By all means don't listen to the haters, they can't possibly have had enough teachers to understand the difference between an effective to an un-effective teacher.
quality teacher who expects good work and is willing to help you achieve it. Also, a cool person, which makes listening easier.
Great teacher! Knows how to explain chemistry and is always willing to help; if she's busy her son will help also. Test's and quiz's are reasonable as they are on what you just learned. Labs are easy most of the time and are well integrated into what your learning.
Best teacher ever!!!
One of the best teachers. She is funny as hell, and makes chemistry easy and interesting, best teacher to take for this course!
by far the best chem teacher i've ever had, very clear, very helpful.
Best teacher ever and if anyone says different they are LAZY, and they are LIARS...Her lectures are pristine & the tests are cake if you ummmmm COME TO CLASS...BEST TEACHER AT RCC!!!!!!
if u like to have a challenging class take her!! she makes her own test so there will be like 1 or 2 problems given on the test and her notes arent so crystal clear because u got to know how to listen as u write down the notes. it feels like teaching all easy stuff in class and real hard on tests. glhf (good luck have fun). ^^
Chem 1A is not an easy course..you need dedication and hard work to pass this class. (humorous + good teacher)= Dr.Hunt. I wouldn't take any chem teacher over her; she's tough but she's doing it for your own good! She gives you the tools you need to succeed in chem..however it's how well you use those tools to build your understanding in chem.
I rearranged my schedule so that I could take 1A and 1B with her. She is a great lecturer and keeps class lively. She has a great sense of humor. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
This was the funniest most entertaining teachers I have EVER had. I looked forward to going to class because she just rips the hell out of students but it's in such great humor that you can't get offended. I will never get the phrase, "It's soooo eeeaaasy" out of my head because she says it all the time. I was bummed she's not teaching 2b. Darn!!!
At first she tells you not to read the book. Big Mistake because she never finishes a thought.DO not ask any questions! She hates that! She will never finish a calculation of the board so you can see the steps. She asks problems that are no in the book. The SI nor the tutor could figure out! Plan on spending a lot of time studying for this clas
She is a great teacher who is good at what she does. I had tons of fun in her class and actually learned instead of going going through the motions of problem solving. Tests are EXACTLY like the homework and study guides.
She is the most amazing professor at RCC. She is a very fun professor and she answers question in class and outside class(office) very clearly. Its is very hard to get and A in the class but not impossible. She seems like she really loves teaching. I will really miss her class.
She s fun and all but she s very misleading when it comes to test.s VERY hard to get an A because her tests re not from the book nor from the notes-
I am thankful that I took her for Chem 2A. I was dredding this class, but she made it fun and entertaining, and she truly cares about her students. The class is difficult because of the content, but if you have great study habits and put all your effort into it, you will do well. Thank you Dr. Hunt (I know you are reading this) for everything! :)
Not the easiest class, but the teacher is funny, engaging, and explains everything you need her to. Great teacher, amazing class.
I love this teacher!!!!! She is super funny and it is easy to get a good grade just as long as you do the work. You always get out early from lab too!
She was a great teacher with thorough explainations. She made class alot of fun and wish I had her for other classes at RCC. By far my favorite teacher there. Class is tough because it is Chemistry, but she makes it as entertaining as possible
Really hard to get an A in this class as the book is completely useless when it comes to the test. Tests are very tricky and she marks you down for the slightest mistakes. Came in as a Chem major leaving as a physics major, doesn't really make class interesting at all!
Her class is interesting, and she is helpful too! But the test is hard!
she zips right through the lectures and claims that everything is really easy, but then the tests are really hard. she does help you a lot if you ask or go to her office hours. shes really cool but her class is hard. she doesn't collect the homework but completing it is a must if you want to pass the class.
If YOU want to learn chemistry this is the teacher that you want. By far one of the best teachers I've ever had, explains the material extremely well and returns assignments. Side not she also laughed at my stories about my failed relationships.
Wonderful teacher. works hard to make sure that her students pass the class. if you don't understand the material, she will stick with you until you understand it. highly recommended.
She's a great professor! Lectures were always entertaining and helpful at the same time. Her tests are no joke, they're pretty hard. To do good in this class best you can do is keep up and not fall behind. I loved this class and would love to have her as a professor again.
Her tests are no joke!!! She doesn't give any study guides and pretty much tells you to study everything which makes it a lot more difficult. Dr. Hunt wants you to succeed and will help as much as she can! Would recommend if you are ready for a challenge!
The tests do reflect lecture, but she goes over the math so fast that by the time you have the problem written down shes onto the next one. So reviewing lecture is pointless. Library staff doesn't allow you to print that many pages at once so if you don't have a printer, good luck.I have an A in the class, so I'm not just giving you bias opinion.
She is very nice and funny but if you aren't planning on studying then you will not pass, i withdrew from her class because i started of in a bad start not having learned anything from chem 2a but i did get to learn a lot from her unfortunately i was always behind, take her shes great but make sure you try your best.
This class is difficult as there is a lot to cover so studying is a must but she is helpful if you ask her questions. The textbook helps a lot for lab and lecture and you can use an older edition. Study lab questions some will be on the exam. She also expects everyone to do their own lab experiments, but you can ask her/other classmates for help.
Her class was no joke! She would not give any study guides and basically told you to study everything that was covered during lecture, lab, and group quizzes.. It was extremely difficult to study the right material, I would study for a long time, but apparently I studied the wrong things continuously because I had to withdraw from her class.
Doctor Hunt is an amazing teacher. She is helpful, approachable, funny, Always there to help you. She goes out of her way to help you if you come to her. I would recommend her to anyone for any class.
She is by far one of the best professors at R.C.C. If YOU ARE committed to learning chemistry then you want this teacher. She held study sessions outside of class for extra help. Always came in smiling, making jokes and with a tremendous amount of energy. She also listened to my embarrassing story about Denny's and only marginally judged me. 10/10
She Teaches well and haves great jokes that helps you learn the material. If needed she will explain the material in more detail if you ask her to. The test are easy if yo study cause she goes over eveything in lecture.
Kind. Funny. Direct. I insist you take the course if your expecting to learn something. No class is easy unless you put your own dedication. You wont need the book so much considering she is so thorough. Shes a great professor, one that cares. Simple way to describe her is..a caring mom you can always turn to for help. Take her you won't regret it.
Avoid it at any cost! Extremely impossible to pass her class, she makes even easy portions of lecture be so difficult! She is vague and a bit lot in her own schedule! Her tests always requires you more knowledge than whats taught in class!
Fairly easy if you attend lecture, take notes, and do the homework (which is optional). Everything on the test is covered in lecture or in a small lecture during lab session. Dr. Hunt also is very approachable during lab and office hours. I only got a B because I didn't study at all for the final. I suggest you study for the final
She is a very sweet and fun person but she is horrible at teaching. You will probably learn more from the book. I would not recommend her to anyone. She puts things on the test that she doesn't even teach and expects you to know them. If a class has a 66% average that means it's the teacher not the students.
This is by far one of the best professors I ever had. Took her chem 2B class about two years ago, and it amazed me how much energy and passion she had for teaching and her subject. I am a senior now( biochem) and her class is by far the best chem class I ever had. I would take any class she teaches. She also listened to my Denny's story! :)
Dr. Hunt is a very quirky, funny, and approachable(unless she makes fun of you too much) professor. Her lectures can be a bit dry at times but she makes sure you are understanding the material. Always do the assigned homework even though its not collected! Never miss class on a handout or quiz day! Tests are pretty reasonable(gives partial credit)
Tough tests! Fill in the blanks! That is crazy! Good teacher, funny teacher. Works hard you can get an A. But the tests are hard in fill in the blanks and multiple choice.
Fun teacher to take. Tests can get difficult, but if you study you should be fine (she tells you what will be on the exam), gives partial credit on exams. Makes lecture and lab enjoyable. Makes your money spent on the course worthwhile. Would recommend. Would take again.
Professor Kime-Hunt is very funny and tries to find more interesting ways of explaining the harder topics. She makes her labs enjoyable and breaks down the calculations to make them as simple as possible. She is a tough grader, but does give partial credit. Expect to read on your own. Worksheets are also very helpful. Enthusiastic professor!
I love proffesor kime! She tends to pick on some people though.. She only usually does 8 week classes so she goes on pretty fast but I like her lectures. Labs are super easy as long as you pay attention. Expect a lot of assignments, they are pretty easy, I do pretty good on them, and they help sorta boost up your grade if you failed a test.
If you're a fan of the Magic School Bus, Dr. Kime is the real-life equivalent of Ms. Frizzle. She makes the material accessible and digestible and makes an above-and-beyond effort to make sure her students understand it as best as possible. Homework isn't mandatory, but it definitely helps. Consider pitching in for a book rental with a few people.
I enjoyed this class.
Great professor, I never took chemistry before and I learned so much about elements . She is willing to help students out of class. Get ready to study and do math problems. Labs are very interesting. She inspired me to do better each day. Tests are hard but students will do good if they study and practice book material. Do homework and ask ?s.
My god this gal is GREAT! She care alot about her students. Advice, be sure to study everyday. I try to clam everything in 3 or 4 days before every test. BIG MISTAKE DAWG! Her test is tough, everything she mentioned in class or lab is fair game. But because of her, I was able to get A in my O-chem. She set my chemistry's foundation right.
Dr. Kime is the bomb. She deeply cares about her students doing well. She offers so many practice sheets and is readily available to help. She is very straight forward as to what will be on exams and quizzes. Study and pay attention and it will be an easy A. This is coming from someone who failed chem once before
She's a hilarious, friendly, and amazingly helpful teacher. After taking the 8 week Chem2A I miss the class everyday. She focuses on labs, worksheets, quizzes, and tests; homework is optional but good for practice. She opens up study rooms and likes study groups. Would absolutely take her again! LUV U MS KIME!!!
Dr. Kime was absolutely an amazing professor. Although the class was somewhat tough, she was so helpful and really told you exactly what was going to be on exams and quizzes. The 8 week course was manageable and so much fun. I would highly recommend this class!! She is so caring and gives a lot of feedback.
She was a hilarious, witty, and engaging prof. This was my first time taking Chem and I had to work for my grade. She was always available during office hours and even held some informal study sessions. Do the HW even though it isn't mandatory. A lot of exam questions that weren't from lecture were from the HW. Amazing prof would highly recommend
She's a decent professor. Took her class, learned a lot but didn't get a good grade because her test are different from the notes. She'll teach easy examples and test you on hard problems. She's a little mean too when you ask her a question she'll give an annoyed response rather than helping you... she doesn't curve too. 3/4 of the class failed...
DEFINITELY NO. On the first midterm only 2 people got above 50% while the rest of the class got 14-38%. Not a lot of people passed any of her midterms. If majority of the class is failing, thats a clear sign that its the professors fault but no apparently its the students. She gets mad when people say she doesn't test what she teaches but its true.
She's horrible... like the other reviews have said, she doesn't test what she teaches. A lot of people failed the class because of this. She doesn't even teach from the same book she uses. I got a 64% and 65 is passing. I got a 150/200 on the final and still failed. She's that type of professor. Don't take her unless you don't mind your gpa droppin
Very funny and quite approachable professor. The tests are incredibly hard, but if you actually do the non mandatory homework in the syllabus, it'll be easier. Attendance is not necessary, but there are WEEKLY quizzes. She is extremely helpful during office hours, even if you need to go over something from the beginning of the semester.
Chemistry in general is not an easy class, regardless you will put as much effort into Chemistry depending on the grade you'd like to receive. Her office hours are a life saver if you are ever stuck on any material. Very available and helpful! I recommend her above any other Chem professors. She's very inspirational, and a powerful woman.
Honestly, this class was easier for me than my chem 1A class. You have to be ready to listen in her lectures. Quizes are also important in grading. Most of the stuff in her quizes are from her lecture slides or something we went over in class. She doesnt require you to do the homework but it helps a lot for the exams.
Was not nice or helpful
If you're nervous about chemistry, or if you're planning on getting into the upper divisions of chemistry, I would highly recommend Dr. Kime. She is by far the most genuine professor, if not the most genuine person that I've met. She'll answer any questions that you have, and is very easy to talk to.
She is funny I have to say but dont get distracted by that. She very sarcastic which can be annoying and sometimes funny. She can sometimes be rude. She gives hard tests and ask questions on exams she randomly says in class (pay attention and take note). But in all she knows what shes teaching but teaches fast even if students dont understand.
Second time taking professor Kime and I love her! I went from hating chemistry to loving it. Shes a very genuine and caring professor that wants all her students to succeed. Just go over her lecture slides, prepare for her quizzes and exams. whatever effort you put in she will truly meet you halfway.
You will need to put in work but no more than should be expected for college Chem. Do the HW because she uses it or similar problems on quizzes and tests. Quizzes are given every week on the most recent material and those points can really help your overall grade. BONUS: She's hilarious.
Very good chem professor. I got an A by reading each chapter at least once and making sure I know how to do every single question at the end of the chapter. Do not underestimate her weekly quizzes. She grades based off weekly quizzes, lab and exams. Chem 1B is really tough I think only like 5 or 6 out of 50 got A's so u really need to work hard
IF YOU ARE TAKING CHEM AT RCC, TAKE IT WITH KIME!! Kime is so patient and kind. She WANTS you to pass the class so she WILL help you understand the material as long as you are showing her you are trying! She is so sarcastic and funny during lecture. I've told all of my friends to take her course and they passed with a B or higher!
Dr. Kime is a great professor! Shes funny and gets along well with students. I did have some trouble understanding her lectures so its best to review the info yourself. Her class was a bit difficult, so studying is definitely a must!!! Quizzes, lab, and tests matter and they contribute a lot to your grade so its best not to push them off!!
Hands down, one of my top 3 teachers I've ever had in my college career. I never took Chemistry in high school but she totally makes me want to switch majors, however I won't (because Bio is better, Sorry Kime lol). But I recommend her 100%. I would love to take another class she teaches too! She is very helpful, responsive and just awesome!
