Professor Taffet brings great enthusiasm to every one of his lectures. He is very accessible, will answer your emails quickly, and has incredibly flexible office hours. However, there is a lack of emphasis on important information in his lectures, making his lectures slightly irrelevant to the OWLs and exams.

His exams are super hard and he does not scale. He goes so fast and uses complex explanations. He is bad at explaining and does not make it understandable. He treats it like a junior and senior class when he is just general chemistry 1. He admitted himself to get an A you have to do gives you even the optional work. Get a different professor.

Extremely easy, the practice exams were exactly like the actual exams. He literally replies to emails 1 minute after you send it, even on weekends, even on breaks. Professor Taffet's enthusiasm about chemistry is why I'm taking him again for 112. He is always encouraging and motivating. This class requires a lot of studying because not everything is covered in lecture: the OWLs are indispensable and read all of the chapters. Fast lectures, but he clarifies everything you're struggling with in office hours.

He doesn't have any sympathy for students whatsoever. So don't expect any extensions on homework or be able to postpone a test. I usually don't find his lectures helpful, the only time I actually understand anything is when I did the OWLS (homework assignments).

Probably one of the most unsympathetic and irritating professors. I know it's unrealistic for a practice exam to mirror the actual exam, but he intentionally tried to screw us over throughout the semester. The first few lectures he was already making sex jokes which was very uncomfortable. He talks in an odd fashion, sort of like a theater kid so he is very hard to understand. There are 3 exams which are 20 MCQs and a final. I gave him a 2 stars b/c his office hours are like 6 hours and he still has zoom available outside of office hours.

Dr. Taffet is a very smart guy, one of the smartest people I've ever met. His class can be challenging, however, the exams are 80% of the practice exams.
