Presents potentially boring content interestingly and is very reasonable.

Go to class take notes and its easy to take the 10 questions quizes if your not going to class you wont pass
best prof. i've had thus far. keeps things interesting, has a real effect on students... me, at least. i'm in love with this man!
Terrific teacher. Definitely deserves more credit for what he does. Has quite a way about him as well... can hardly look him in the eye...
very helpful... it's hard to teach a statistics course to psych students, but he does a great job!
Go to class and take notes and study the chapter review and you'll do good, watch out for his pink shirts!
amazing prof
a fine teacher, and hey, i love those pink shirts
inspirational and interesting
pointless class. wierd teacher. not normal.
good teacher for it being a stats class..wears a lot of pink, and his hair is crazy! but he is a wonderful helpful man
a great prof- i miss him so much! his class was so interesting... he never let anyone get bored. and i think his shirts were more of a salmon, by the way..
Did I learn anything in this class????
All quizes and you can retake them!
He is one of the coolest guys. He has the type of serious humor. He has really pretty eyes.
He has you take each quiz, then grades it, you review, and get to take the same quiz again! He is very helpful, but monotonous
An outstanding professor. Excellent teaching skills and people skills.
Excellent insructor very influential
Elliott Bonem has many excellent characteristics that put him above and beyond anyone in his department: excellent interpersonal skills; he is driven to make class interesting and informative, and exceptional intellectual insight masterfully utilized to maximize the best in students. A++
very unclear, hard quizzes all A student with an E in this class do not take him!
I don't know about the other reviews, but no quiz retakes were allowed in my Psych 101 class. It's pretty much a typical lecture class, where attendance matters minimally. Bonem seems a bit condesending though. He likes to cut students' comments short and practically rephrase what they said.
He was always very strange and often got way too into into detail that wasnt even important or needed to be known and wouold often times be confusing. His quizes were easy but very limited and short so NO ROOM FOR ERROR. i got a c in the class and can say i didnt learn much or retain any of it
The retakes are for 205 not 101. He's a nice enough guy, but he uses overheads incessantly and doesn't do a very good job of explaining his materials. If you're good at math and have taken statistics before, you'll do fine. If not, get a tutor early.
Elliott Bonem is quite possibly the single most coolest person on the face of the planet. Seriously. If you don't go to Bonem, TRANSFER just so that he can be your professor. Interesting, informative, and personable.
Hes a great guy. Really is. Boring as heck but man great class. Easy tests. I would say this is the perfect class. I came to class, took the test for 10 minutes, left. Repeat for a semester =A. No attendance which is a godsend, told upfront what chapters to read, very easy read the stuff take the tests leave. I wish I had him for every class. Great

Awesome teacher. Made class fun and interesting. Just what I needed for my senior year!
I tried to have him for every psych class I had - I had such a crush on him, cute sweet little Jewish man!
A class act.
Very unclear tangents during lecture, making class time a waste of time and quizes to be very difficult.

He's a nice person but what he teaches in class is a waste of time seeing as it's rarely on the quizzes.
Such a nice guy. Will seriously go out of his way to help you outside of class. He truly cares about his students and their opinions, as well as any problems they have with the material.
Class is a huge wast of time, and he was just very borring
taking notes on lectures is pointless. nothing he talks about is on the quizzes but i would recommend going to class because he gives a lot of extra credit that will help your grade ALOT!
An interesting and captivating professor. He is intellectual and makes interesting points that are realistic and applicable to real life. One of the best professors at EMU.
This class was pointless and I am very upset that I took it. He was nice guy, but the class was just boring.
Pretty boring class but very easy. I skipped at least half of the classes and skimmed the chapters and got an A.
Dr.Bonem is the nicest professor I have ever had at EMU. This class got boring at times because it was 3 1/2 hours long (Sat.), but he knows everything about anything and is fun to talk to. His tests were all open book and he allows you to work in groups! The only work you do outside of class is the group project. Take him if you can:)
class is very easy...lecutre is somewhat interesting but he gets off topic alot...his vocab quizes r easy if you study...and if you attend class his pop quizes r easy. This class is a simple class...not much to it...he's lecutres r hard to take notes on though bc he uses the over head and flips through the sheets so fast.
I grduated from Eastern with a 3.49. I missed honors because he knocked my grade down because of one extra absence. I missed that class because my grandma died. He would not excuse it. What a jerk. What happened to caring about your students.
He reminded me of the other Mario Brother, anyway I found his class easy. Read, go to class, take notes and you'll be fine. I found the class interesting, if there are SI sessions go!
I thought this class was very boring. The lectures DO NOT help with the quizzes. Your pretty much on your own. He gives you practice questions but they do not help. The questions on the quiz are very technical so you have to know everything in the chapter. If there are any other professors you could take, I would suggest it
The lectures are boring but the class is easy
Excellent Professor. Astute, knowledgeable, informed.
He's extremely knowledgable and although lectures can be a bit dry, it's interesting stuff. And he is always available to help. Go to class and pay attention. Use the study guide for the quizzes and you'll be fine. And working with the rats was kinda interesting...I miss Borat! lol
Although his lectures are a bit dry and his multiple choice questions are impossible to answer, he is a very nice professor. He gives you a practice test before each exam which are very useful. He also allows you to retake all exams! Very nice and helpful professor
He is easy to talk to , but he cannot remember you and he will try to fish for information to figure out who you are. The material for the quizzes is online and he uses that material specifically. The class could have used more time developing the statistical data for the final project, but overall it was not a bad class.
Elliott Bonem is a stunning achievement in teaching. He has a poetic genius that disguises powerful and meaningful subject matter with niceties. Don't let his excellent disposition fool you, this is scorching materical blazened into a incredible masterpiece of enrichment.
An excellent instuctor. And not because others in his department are substandard. He is good because he's involved and provides good material in class.
An excellent class from a talented professor.
This class content alone, was extremely hard. I took this class online and it was pretty rough. I ended up with an A and learned nothing.
Your grade is based on several quizzes with lots of opportunities for bonus points, so it'd be hard to fail. It's all lecture-based, but it's pretty interesting. He makes you think and asks lots of questions. Definitely worth taking.
Excellent professor. First rate instruction.
Take the online class for an easy A. If you want to learn something though, I wouldn't suggest this, he let's you retake quizzes, gives out your homework answers, and endless extra credit. Hopefully I never have to use this stuff.
Grade was based on multiple choice quizzes and a final exam. He usually shifted the grades so that the highest score was always a 100%. Definitely invest in a study guide and take good notes. I ended up with an A.
An excellent instructor who makes learning easy and fun. Dr. Bonem enjoys teaching, and works hard. His warm personality overshadows his brilliant strategy of imparting the stuff of thought. He is like a conduit who promotes rich mental connections, creating involving subject matter and unseemingly promoting class participation.
EASSSSSYYYY class! As long as you attend the lectures, you will barely have to look at the book and the study guide that comes along with it is useless. Professor Bonem is nice and occasionally cracks a joke!
I disagree that this class is easy. Elliott Bonem is a good instuctor and his presentations facilitate learning.
Everyone has to take this class for psychology majors which sucks, but he makes it somewhat interesting. Labs can get boring but it's a pretty easy class as long as you show up.
Thoughtful, substantive, and well-prepared subject matter. Very relevant for the field. Dr. Bonem is a spirited and inspirational lecturer, with a polite and gentle tone. Highly Recommended!
Best prof in the department.
the best psychology teacher I could ever ask for, he makes the class really interesting and he helps the students by giving extra credit assignments.
I took him once, and took him two more times. That's how good he is.
Excellent professor. A brilliant intellectual and an asset to EMU.
Superb professor. Dynamic and charasmatic lecturer.
Elliott Bonem's instruction is the best I've had at EMU. This is an extremely satisfying class. Promotes good class participation and stimulates interest in the subject matter. Sure-handed, substantive instruction for sure.
Great professor! Took spring semester and got a pretty easy A, statistics wasn't as bad as I thought. You can take each quiz twice, half of each quiz is open book, extra credit is given, and dont bother buying the book the note packet will work fine!
Thank you Dr. Bonem for being the best in your department.
A satisying, informative class. It's well done and enjoyable.
He is really laid-back in his teaching style and also very willing to help you at your level.
A great guy and all around the best lecturer in the department. Always there and goes above and beyond.
Highly recommended. Easily the best professor in the department.
He is a really good professor because he gives good lectures, grades fairly etc. But he tries to make ppl believe as he does. Personal beliefs in terms of religion etc. shouldn't be brought up in class like this. He tells people who believe differently that they are brainwashed & wrong. People believe what they want, JUST TEACH. Decent job at that
He told us that in Grad. school he couldn't teach his chimp. "What good is all this knowledge if you can't apply it?" He should not be teaching a practical class if he can't apply what he knows. He also admitted to us that he set us up for failure in the Lab portion. Complete and utter waste of time.Nice looking but, take someone else if you can.
I took Psy 205 & 301 w/Dr. Bonem, and he is one of the most helpful and patient professors Ive had. The material is challenging, so attend EVERY class, do the make up exams, retake the quizzes, and don't wait until the last minute to do the research project. If you do these things you should be fine. Dr.Bonem is extremely cool, so if you are struggl
Professor Bonem did make statistics very easy although I do not feel like I absorbed anything at all. This class is an easy A, with test retakes and study guides. You don't need the textbook, just the packet. A nice guy and an easy "A".
Excellent professor. One of the best at EMU.
He is a very nice teacher but cannot teach. You have an exam every week and the class moves at a very fast pace. If you like to learn on your own you may like this class.
All his quiz questions are from the online help through the book, and from the book chapter questions. His lecture is useless and he is always late. It takes around a week for him to replay to a email. Just study the chapter and online questions and your good to go.
Spends a lot of time on out dated studies and random digressions. Sometimes he's hard to understand.
Very boring and never goes to his office hours. BUT SO EASY! You can never attend class and get a 100%. Lots of extra credit and quizes are easy. :)
Prof. Bonem was the worst teacher for stats. The subject is hard enough, but he does not explain anything! I had to pretty much teach myself how to understand it. He has lots of quizzes and they are hard. But for every quiz, he has a re-take. He also hands out copies of all his notes before hand. Still a bad teacher though.
Super easy class. Gives retakes for all quizzes.
Statistics is a difficult and unpopular class. Dr. Bonem does better than anyone can with this and is always there outside class to help.
very easy professor. test is based on 16 multiple choice question and 8 of them is directly from the textbook words for words the rest is online assessment question. Attendance is not mandatory
Completly useless Prof. Didn't go to lectures. Came on quiz days.
Dear lord this man is BORING. Class is pretty easy just make sure you do well on the research paper.
Good teacher, the book is used for the verbal section of exams, the notes that he has you takes notes from is good for the equations section, some parts of the class you will not be able to find in the book or notes (rarely) so go online unless he finds a new book for the class, meet him during office hours, he likes that!
I am horrible with math and I was dreading this class but how he runs the class helps you pass. Open book/note quizzes. Didn't really study too much just looked over stuff before the quizzes. Don't really need the book or coursepack because you can pring out lecture notes online.
your entire grade is determined by quizes he periodically gives. all the questions come straight from the book and website. his lectures are interesting but not neccessary, so attendance is optional. it is encouraged to still attend because he occasionally gives out bonus points.
He has to be the worst PSY teacher I've had, and they've all been pretty bad. Online quizzes, 2 assignments per week, and then a couple projects at the end. Just jumped right in, no contact/facilitation with the class, no explanations of anything, etc. Four weeks in, I have NO idea what's going on, but...I have an A. Hmm. His PSY 205, same thing.
Start your project as early as possible, don't overcomplicate it. Use his office hours, he likes to be bothered I think hehe. Lectures are not always clear in meaning, record them! He can be flexible if you ask him away from class. Wonderful guy, hard material (emphasis!) Use the book from the prereq for the project. Find a good lab partner!
Overall, Prof Bonem is a really nice guy. If you have any questions, he will help you out. PSY 205 can be a really dry class, and his lectures can also be dry. But he is always willing to clarify if you ask him. You don't use the textbook at all, but you do use his supplemental notes very often. You can even use them on the tests.
He's awesome. Take his class. He's a blast from the past and very helpful, so don't be afraid to ask. There's a quiz every week, but they aren't hard. 1 exam at the end of the semester. Don't need the lab book, he gives you copies of what you need. Didn't use the text book either. Use the online resources he gives you.
Professor Bonem is a very fair and helpful professor. There are closed and open book sections of quizzes and there are make-up quizzes, which allows you to correct mistakes. I am glad I took him for this class, as I actually learned something. His lectures can be a bit confusing at times, but it gets easier as the class goes on. Highly recommended!
He makes the most boring class ever, as interesting as anyone could make it. If you get a chance to take his class, take it. I've never heard anyone talk about central tendencies with such enthusiasm. He has an awesome mustache.
The is the most boring class I have ever taken. He does not teach but gives retakes on every quiz. The retakes are not helpful because you are not learning anything. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK you will never use it. Your grade is based only on tests. Do not take this class with him!
Nice and helpful professor. Grade is based off of 7 quizzes. Provides you with practice quizzes. The multiple choice questions are closed book and difficult. The open book part is just like the open book part on the practice quiz. Offers retakes for every quiz. I don't remember anything I learned, but I did get an A. Didn't use the textbook at all.
He was not nice. Very abrupt and told me that he wasn't going to bother helping people who were likely to drop class because it was a waste. I was completely lost all semester and ended up getting the lowest grade Ive ever gotten B-. If you aren't good at math TAKE ANOTHER TEACHER FOR STATS!
Your grade is based on 7 quizzes worth 25 points each. You are allowed a make-up for each quiz except the last one (final). There are two sections on the quiz, the first, is closed book, multiple choice. The second is open book/open notes. He provides all notes for you. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. I didn't open it once and you won't need it.
He was such a great guy. I suggest taking him for PSY 205. His lectures are boring but he is very helpful and super nice
He was dull and lecture too long. Very smart, though, but sometimes over your head.
Very cool teacher, he talks ALOT ! But if you come to class, pay attention, ask question as much as you need to. Do the work, study for the little quizzes and youll get GOOD GRADES
Take this class in the summer time if you can. It was a breeze for me. Everything was online. Did not have to come to campus at all . He let you retake the test to get a higher grade. The second time that I retook the test it seems harder and harder. All questions to the answers were in the form of multiple choice. Do not take the campus version
Dr. Bonem can be very dull and boring at some times but he definitely wants you to pass. As long as you print out the course pack online, you'll be fine since all of his tests are open note! You don't need a textbook, just the course pack. He doesn't really respond to emails, and you should probably show up to class in order to understand things.
Dr. Bonem is very laid back. Go to class, don't be lazy and you will pass. And you will probably learn quite a bit! You may even learn some things completely unrelated to the class... But that's okay! Dr. Bonem's best quality is that he is always prompting his students to think about current issues in psychology.
Bonem is not a very good teacher. This class was easy for me because I already took a stats class before so I knew what was going on. He whispers when he talks and is boring so I never could pay attention. Gives 20 points of extra credit at the end of the semester. Easy A if you already know about stats, if not he doesn't explain anything.
Dr. Bonem knows his stuff, but has a hard time putting it in layman's terms for people like me without an extensive math background. He will break it down for you if you go up to him personally or attend office hours, but even with open note quizzes (print his notes, he's too fast to take your own), I wouldn't have passed without a tutor.
If you've never taken stats, good luck. He's not very clear, talks about the history of an equation before actually explaining it, very hard to understand what he's talking about because it feels like he's way off topic. I'm lucky I took stats in high school otherwise he would've killed my grade. Long lectures, barely any explanations.. good luck
Dr. Bonem makes it very unclear what will get you an A in his class and what won't. He was laid back-yes, but he would lecture about random things and leave you with no valuable information. He is a nice enough professor, but even after asking him to help me on the most important assignment in class, I left with a much lower grade than I expected.
His lectures were awful and dragged on for forever. He went on tangents about an obscure point in the lecture and barely mentioned the important points that the quizzes are on. I could barely stay awake. He will talk non-stop for 2.5 hours. He gives you little help on the research you have to do, but grades harshly on the paper.
I took Psy 205 and 301W. He is always available to assist people as long as they actually try. I've met with him countless times advice and he's been great. For 301W he walks you through the process for picking a topic and is available to assist where needed. You just need to put in the work and show you care about it. He IS quite lecture heavy.
NEED to have a solid background in Statistics to take this class because he doesn't explain basics unless you ask. Generally just lectures on formula, using a lot of different research study examples. Didn't use textbook at all as all the 7 Unit notes are uploaded on Canvas. Retake option for every test except the last. All H.W is extra credit.
The worst professor I have had at Eastern so far. He gives extremely long lectures, but he doesn't stay on subject. There are 10 point quizzes given during each class, but nothing he lectures about is on the quiz;. The biggest grade for the class is the research paper, but he doesn't help with it and he grades hard. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!
Lectures have nothing to do with quizzes or test. Bonem rambles and gets off topic ALL the time. In class assignments have nothing to do with quizzes. Easy to pass if you read the book and do well on labs and assignments. Wouldnt take him again.
If you go to all classes there isn't a reason that you won't do well. He tells you everything he wants for the final paper just follow the rubric. 10 10PT quizzes that are from online questions, 10 labs that are literally completion based. Start your paper early and he'll read and review it for you. He's very passionate about psych which I loved.
Hands down the worst psych professor at EMU. The class was a little easier because I had JUST taken basic stats before his class. He was not clear and he had terrible lectures. I would not take this professor again. If you can, take someone else for stats and save yourself a headache.
It was difficult to pay attention and understand the concepts; however, he gives you every opportunity to succeed. If your grade is 80%, you can get a 90% for doing 10 homework assignments! Every quiz is open-notes and has a retake! The teaching style and material is difficult, but he knows that and cares enough to be accommodating.
This class is set up to where as long as you do the extra credit assignments and take your best guesses on the tests you will get an A. You do not need to buy the book, I never opened mine once.
Dr. Bonem is a great guy and very nice but does not know how to teach. He lectures about random things then gives you a quiz once a week and you have to teach yourself the material. He curves the overall grade. There's one big presentation/project at the end of the semester and no matter how many questions you ask, he isn't clear on what to do.
He was a nice professor, but there was absolutely no point in going to class. His lectures were random and didn't relate to the quiz/final material, which came straight from the book. Instead of going to class, buy the textbook and make sure you know the answers to the quizzes at the end of each chapter.
If you have the chance, DO NOT take this class with Prof. Bonem. His teaching is very dry and boring and easily gets off topic. If you don't already have some background in statistics, this course will be challenging. I would recommend taking STAT 170 online before taking this class. DON'T buy the book, never used it.
Miserable class. I basically had to teach myself the material. Thank god he offered extra credit or else I probably would have failed the class. If you don't know too much about statistics I would use a different professor.
His lectures are quite confusing and don't have much to do with what is going to be on the quizzes except for maybe 2-3 random questions. In the book at the end of each chapter there's a practice quiz so if you memorize those questions you should be fine. There's also extra credit for just about each section which helps it just takes a while to do.
Big waste of money. Dont recommend taking any of his classes.
Dr. Bonem is seriously one of the sweetest teachers. He is soft spoken which is why some people get confused, but does his best to make the class easy. There's a retake on every exam. All homework is worth extra credit. No work outside of class, but make sure you go to class or you'll get lost. Gives sample quizzes that can be used on the test.
Took his online 205 class. Only graded on 8 discussions and 7 quizes. Quizes are 20 points each, 20 questions. You can take them 10 times. Material covered was tough but the multiple attempts make up for it.
I took Bonem over the summer and it was at my own speed, which I loved because I finished the course fairly quickly. There are quizes that you can retake 10 times, he also lets you gain extra credit by watching films and creating your own 5 question multiple choice test. Other than that there are discussion boards. Its really easy.
Prof Bonem is a very nice professor. Although we are online-based as of now, Bonem takes their time to respond in appropriate time periods. Most of the coursework is easy to do and I am actually learning content in this course. It is a lot of reading but I think this course is better with little instruction and more individual based learning.
I took Dr. Bonem's class online and it was super easy. He offers so much extra credit. But he is very generic with students and emails. He doesn't really answer questions. He has videos that are from 1980 and they're boring and hard to pay attention to. Otherwise it was super easy.
If there had been in-person sections for this it would have been better, but the only content for the class is readings. It's hard to learn from just readings and I wish he had made lecture videos to watch. The canvas page is not all that well organized either. But the class is easy in itself, I can just tell he isn't familiar with technology.
This is one of the most kind Professors I have ever had. He does give out a lot of homework but it's very easy and simple to follow. He is super understanding and will give you extentions if you let him know ahead of time.
He uses a lab program that most of the class had issues with because the program is not up to date with what I've heard other profs use for this class. He used readings instead of lecture videos, and for a stats based class was hard to digest. The material is much easier than the async, reading based format makes it out to be.
He doesn't teach you the units. He gives out notes and papers to help with quizzes but be expected to teach yourself the material if you want to pass. He is nice but not a good instructor.
He is the sweetest teacher. He really helps you so much with the material and will walk you through how to do questions even on the tests if you're struggling. Gives extra credit on every unit and retakes on every exam. Highly recommend taking him.
He cares so much about his students. If you want to get an A, you will. If people took advantage of his kindness he will happily go over any material to make sure you get it. His material in class was fairly outdated, textbook was as well and wasn't needed; I used youtube videos to help me understand the material.
This professor is really bad he puts things on quizzes that he doesn't teach and the day before the quiz he tries to explain them but they don't make sense anymore. He doesn't teach he just shows graphs
I took this class completely online so consider that when reading this review! This class was very manageable. There are 8 discussion posts due, with about 11-13 questions in each post. He grades those as 5 points. There are 8 quizzes. You can retake up to 5 times. Those are 20 points. Those are the only grades for the semester.
Dr. Bonem is a great professor and easy going as well as relaxed on due dates. He doesn't understand technology very well so that took up a lot of class times most days but overall not a bad class.
Does not answer emails. If you have a question outside of class you will have to figure it out on your own. Takes points away from assignments and does not give an explanation on why you lost points.
I'm not going to act like Doctor Bonem is the best professor on the planet, but you can tell he loves his job. He sometimes fails to cover all content adequately enough, but if you approach him about it, he will bend over backwards to help you understand the content and apply it to psychology. For me, he has always been friendly and understanding.
Dr. Bonem was sometimes hard to pay attention to due to his lectures sometimes being dry and boring, however, he is easy to work with, easy on grading, and if you need help he is ready to help as long as you ask. Do not buy the book, you don't use it and if you need anything from it he will provide copies of the papers, so it is a waste of money.
This professor is unclear with grading. Gives horrible feedback . Easy work .
Professor Bonem was amazing! He cared a lot about his students and will help them understand the material fully. The lectures are hard to follow but once you ask for clarification he is always there to help!
Although Dr.Bonem is not the best at actually teaching the material, his class is fairly easy. All quizzes are open book/open note and you can ask him questions if needed. There are also SI's for this class that can help outside of class. All of his notes are available on Canvas and fairly easy to follow.
I took this class online. Take him if you can! You have 7 quizzes and get 10 re-tries on each quiz. There are 4 labs that are super easy and clearly outlined. Discussion posts are due every other week. I learned so much because he cared about his students. Extra credit was worth up to 15 points. Don't let the class intimidate you. He's awesome.
I had Dr. Bonem for PSY205 online. He organized canvas very well and the course requirements were very clear. The class itself is kinda difficult but he provides many different resources such as note slides, the textbook, podcasts, and many opportunities for extra credit. Online quizzes and discussion post every other week, four labs
Everything that the people said Mar 12th, April 22nd, & May 2nd is 100% spot on. Bonem is nice. Class looks intimidating, Actually easy to navigate. My advice is: Meet with an SI (Supplemental Instructor) if you're lost on the Quizzes. The Labs, Discussions are easy, but the Quiz grades make up 58% of your score (140/240). Yet, a easy B for sure.
This was a hard class to do in 8 weeks, but Dr. Bonem did his best to make sure we all understood and were on track with our papers. Him and his SI were both really helpful and helped give input and develop the research ideas. There were weekly quizzes and in-class labs every week. Show up to class and attend SI, Dr. Bonem is happy to help!
Bonem is a caring professor who provides lots of resources, but his lectures can be dull. Use unstuck AI and the free textbook to supplement - it'll make the quizzes a breeze!
Dr.Bonem is not the greatest when it comes to technology. Overall his class was not too difficult but his lectures are old and outdated. Some of the lecture material that he shows in class is not uploaded to Canvas so it is hard to pay attention. The class is not too difficult, there is an online quiz and labs each week as well as a research report
he's one of the best. I like the way he's teaching. open-book quizzes, labs ( he's always there if you need anything), easygoing. I do recommend taking classes with him
Nice guy, easy class if you show up and put some effort in. There are online quizzes and labs, and a research report. He cares a lot and gives good feedback with your report if you're struggling, you can keep turning it in until you get 100%. He gives lots of resources to the students, like free copies of the textbook and tutors present in class.
I honestly don't get why there are so many low reviews. Bonem is nice and the class is easy, he wants to see you do good in his class and is regularly available for help. He can get distracted, but he's no worse than some of the other psych professors. He has TAs available in and out of class to help you out too, I recommend him for any class!
Attendance is not mandatory but your grade will definitely reflect if you went to class. The labs are all in person so you will get a 0 if u don't go. But the labs are a heavy percentage in the course so going to class and doing them is important. a lot of mini homework assignments, a 15 page research proposal and is worth 30% of ur grade
This class seems menacing, but it really isn't if you do the work and ask for help if you need it. The research proposal can be a little confusing at first, but Bonem gives food feedback on the first draft. Basically follow what he tells you to fix and ask questions if you have them, then you'll have a great grade on the final draft.
I took Dr. Bonem for Quantitative methods in Psych and honestly he's a pretty cool guy! Supper easy going would grade the papers with us while we turned them in and gave us room for improvement. Clear on whats do and gives you several opportunities for extra credit! Awesome guy!
