I got a kick out of this guy! Pol Sci is not my favorite subject - but he's a terrific teacher! Very enthusiastic about his subject - fun to watch! He's very interested in his students, talks with them about their major. He wants to help everybody!

Really great teacher.You really have to listen, but its a pretty easy class.

This teacher is rumored to be one of the most helpful teachers on campus, and he is. He cares about his students and their careers beyond the class. He's a conservative, and he is one of the smartest teachers I know. Open book during test! Very easy!

Rock does have open book tests but you had better know it ALL. May as well have not had an open book. Begs for participation but steamroles over you if you don't echo his opinions. Too much reading.Apparently he doesn't think you have any other classes. T

Open book tests! Slightly conservative bias, but that was actually a refreshing break from the usual liberal bias. Read or at least highlite important stuff in book so you dont waste time looking it up during test. Would take him again.

He is a very good teacher, and knows his stuff. Most of his test are based on the stuff in the book. All test are open book (Dont let this fool you, even though it's open book you need to know your stuff) Also there is a 10 page paper. no big deal.

Mr. Rock is an awesome teacher. He knows his material and has an incredible passion for the political world. Just make sure you don't slack off with the reading, because it will get during the exams!

This guy is awesome! He is very very tough if you don't study, but if you like politics, take him!!!

he is very enthuastic about poli sci. talks alot but in a very entertaining way. all exams, including the final are open book, open notes!!!

He is an amazing teacher...my favorite out of every teacher i've ever had. He made me like pol sci. Hes hilarious, and explains everything so well. The 10 pg paper is easier than it sounds. Ive learned so much from him. Take Him!!!!

I found Prof. Rock to be lound and obnoxiuos w/his right wing views. There is a lot!! of material to read also. 3 different books. Tests are open but you better have read the chapters thouroghly or you'll blow the 100 qst.mutiple choice tests&10 page pape

Very easy and fun teacher. He gives open note and book tests and he does not give a final or homework. The only downside is you have to read a 200 page book and write 10 pages on it. The guy has to be one of the only conservative teachers at the school and he also worked for the White House.

He is very nice but babbles on too much. Also, there are now 2 separate 10 page papers due. Lectures were hard to follow and english is my primary language.

Prof. Rock is absolute craziness...but in a good way. His lectures were always interesting, if nothing else. Crazy stories from a crazy guy.

Very politically outspoken, & lots of his own white house experience is spoken about. I fund his tests somewhat difficult, but I was interested in Poly Sci in his class, which is remarkable. I am usually an A student and I got a B.

I am in complete agreement with whoever said that Dr. Rock is absolute craziness, but in a good way. He is by far one of the most interesting people I have had the opportunity to listen to. He's bursting with information. I highly recommend his class.

Ask your questions because he will never let you get a word in edgewise. Great guy and very geniune. He'll scare you for what the future has in store but ultimately, what's wrong with that. Man this man can talk. Good class

This class was soooo fun. I would have never enjoyed it if I took another instructor. He is always willing to help you.

Dr. Rock is a very good teacher. He knows his stuff, he worked for the Reagan administration. Test I found to be easy, open book and open note. The questions on the test were in order of the pages. I suggest taking this class during summer. You dont have to write as many papers. Only one 8 page paper.

He is a die hard republican that tries to stay bias... way over qualified very interesting to talk to. Open book tests, but this can fool you because the questions are in every which direction and your almost better not using it.

I LOOOVED Doc Rock, he had me in stitches half the time. I got the feeling he leaned to the right but did a good job of trying to stay neutral. I THOUROUGHLY enjoyed his class even though I got a C.

Dr. Rock keeps it interesting and entertaining at the same time. Open book tests but you still have to study very well. And, if the class is 3 hours long, you stay 3 hours, period! Except on the test taking nights. I highly recommend this professor.

He was a great teacher you had a lot of reading and test every week but if you need help he is there to help you I took over the summer of 2005 and I passed so you can pass too.

Great teacher, the best i have ever had. This professor will open your eyes to the real world. Dr. Rock brings tons of experiance to the class having worked in the White House. Take this professor you woun't regret it.

This guy in kind of out there. He is a very intersting fellow, but his teaching techniques are boring. He never sticks to the material. His tests are quite easy, he always lets you look @ notes and use the text. There is one small catch to what would be a perfectly easy class. He makes you write a 10 page paper on some boring book he swears by.

Greatest professor of Political Science in Southern California! He is awesome! He allows you to have open book, open notes and gives you ample time to prepare for his exams. He served in the military and has served under a few of our past U.S Presidents; if you are serious about learning this is your professor!

Dr rock is a really nice guy. Clearly cares about what he's teaching and is very knowledgeable, but like others have said he's a die hard republican. Take what he says about a lot of things with a grain of salt and investigate for yourself. If you read the book there's no reason you shouldn't get an A. People who say he's hard are just lazy.

The best teacher on the LBCC campus. Actually has experience in what he is teaching. He makes what would normally be a difficult and boring subject INTERSETING and HELPFUL!!!

Doc Rock rocks! He is willing to help you as much as much as you are willing to learn; and he knows the most interesting things. I never had an interest in Political Science, but he had made it very interesting with his enthusiasm for the subject.

Political Science. I found this to be hard class. He teaches this class as if you are getting a doctorates degree in Political Science. My advice, find an easier teacher.

I was worried when i signed up 4 his class. COuldn't fit anything else in my schedule and I've heard rumors that he's hard. As it turns out, he's one of the easiest teachers I've had. yes, u have to do a lot of reading, but I didn't and I got a B (only cuz I turned in 2 verylate work). You mainly just need to know the definitions and you're set

great teacher, scared thecrap outta you with 100 question multiple choice BUT giant curve 54/100 was an A oncetest open book as well also great guy only flaming left wingers would dislike him

Love him! He is a brilliant, nutty professor who is totally passionate about polisci and I think a bit disappointed that students these days don't express the same interest.

I enjoyed this instructor! Yeah, he wasn't shy about stating his opinions but was entertaining nevertheless. He always asked us students what our major was. Now that I'm a college teacher, I make it a point to ask my students the same. It really helps you to get to know the folks you're teaching. Thanks for that, Dr. Rock!

Great Doc! He is a legend! This man loves to debate, so if you plan on earning his respect; do your research and be sure you have credible sources to support your argument! If you work hard and do your reading, you will do well in this class. Do not show up thinking you can nap in this class because it will bite you in the butt come exam time!!!

Very interesting class, very fun to listen to. The tests are based TOTALLY off the book, make sure you read EVERY PAGE of the chapters for the test.Watch out for the 10 page paper at the end of the class. The key to the paper is to read the book and write the paper with A LOT of quotes. Write it like a instruction manual. I got a A in the class.

Dr. Rock is a very intresting Lecturer. His class was very interesting even though I normally find the subject intensely dull. However one must carefully read the book to do well on his tests. And don't forget to speak up in class because he likes a lot of participation. Be careful though, not to get him of topic.

Dr. Rock is a good teacher, he lets you use your notes and offers pretty much unlimited extra credit - If you fail this class, you are useless.

Dr. Rock is the man! He knows what he is talking about since he served for several U.S Presidents. This man is so humble you would never know it. Very dedicated man. Should run for president. Vote "Rock '12" Not an easy class but he is great and you will learn a lot. The coolest thing is you can come to any lectures in the week. if you are busy you can come the next day.

only hard if you don't have the time to read and take really good notes from the book. always write down all of the terms. they are always on the test. for everyone that says he is bias yeah he is but so is every other political science teacher. but he knows what his is talking about and helpful not just in class but helps you for life

Doc Rock is definitely an animatied instructor. But I may say that he goes too much into his personal experiences in his life and goes off topic at times. He gave me a headache most of the time. The tests were Multiple choice though.

Dr. Roc is a Republican no questions ask! He is extremely nice and helpful!! There is A LOT of reading in his class. All tests and quizzes are OPEN NOTES. He tells you what WILL BE on the exams and quizzes during the lecture, so attendance is IMPORTANT.A LOT of extra credit is offered.

He's hard in the sense that if you don't come to class you miss A LOT of information for the test, and if you don't read he will chew the class out about it. But there's a lot of extra credit, pretty much no homework at all, and you can make up any test you miss (no quiz makeups though). PLUS every test/quiz is open note!

He is so easy as long as you read and pay attention in class. He's very helpful. Quizzes and Test are all open notes. If you miss an exam you can make it up. I highly recommend this professor.

This guy is so helpful,his door is open.There is a big paper due at the end of the semester that he extended the deadline for twice, and he will help you write it if you ask for help. He let students walk into class to make up tests, while he was teaching. If you don't read he will **** at you, but easy A if you TRY!

Dr Rock is amazing.Not your typical boring politial science class. He KNOWS his stuff and thus makes it easy to understand this EXTREMELY difficult subject (@ least for me). He allows hand written notes on quizzes. He is extremely helpful guides you through every step of the way. He's one of those Profs that you come across one in a LIFETIME.

My sister very much recommended him and I, therefore, had very high expectations. He is a Republican and makes sure you know it. I found it quite irritating that he kept blaming Democrats for many things. He doesn't have a prepared lecture, he just goes through the book. Rock is a cool teacher. His class made care about politics for the first in my life. He is quirky, and funny. He would offer a "Cliff Bar" to anyone who was hungry during class. How many teachers will do that for their students? I recommend his class; just take good notes from the in class lectures and from the book.

This teacher is a great teacher!!! Best history teacher iv'e had so far! He lets you use notes on every test and quiz and finals. He gives you up to 50 extra credit points in the semester. Only one paper for the whole semester and he allows you to make up missed quiz's and exams any time of the week in any of his other classes. Take him! Easy A!

He let's you use notes for all the quizzes and tests. Showing up, taking good notes, and reading the chapters is all you really need to do to pass this class. He's extremely helpful and truly wants to see all his students succeed. I like him! He's not the hugest fan of Obama or democrats, but he's an interesting guy.

AMAZING professor!! Definitely reccommend you take him. He is very clear, his lectures might be boring most of the time, but if you pay attention and take notes you can definitely pass his class. Enthusiastic teacher who is very helpful. The grade of A is very much possible with straightforward mechanical memorization, two essays, multiple choice quizzes and exams. Required texts are: one textbook, one pamphlet and a small paperback

I consider this instructor to be the most caring I have taken at this campus. He will go out of his way to help students. Is willing to stay after class to help put with assignments. Very interesting and intelligent gentleman.

WHat you learn from Doc Rock, will come to life when you see the world outside the classroom and it will change your views on politics and life in general. He's doing more then teach you Poli Sci, he's helping you beyond leaving college. Show up, take notes, answer questions, read the assigned book, and pay attention. Best Professor on Campus!

Dr. Rock is very enthusiastic about politics & it helps if you're not into the subject. I thought the class was going to be boring, but he really tries to get us to see how politics affects our everyday lives. You should definitely get the book, take notes and show up to class. Doc. Rock is awesome. He has amazing stories and is passionate. Tests are super easy if you take notes. He basically hands you the answers to the test questions. Tests are open note! One paper but not a traditional paper, very easy. Many extra credit assignments, so take full advantage of them.

Dr. Rock is a very passionate about politics. Test and quiz are easy but must be able to stay thru out the whole class to pass. Try to do your work ahead of time so he would be able to go over it with you. I loved this class. Got a B overall .

It's not that he doesn't pick people that are sarcastic but he doesn't pick students that has no type of interest in the class. We are their to learn . He is the best professor ! Such an awesome teacher. You will learn a lot with little effort. He is super fun. You will pass, just show up to class. Class not boring it all. I took one of his classes years ago and still remember some of the lectures. He is one of the best Teacher at LBCC. Mr. Rock really rocks.
