I have to say he does know his stuff. Always keeps his lectures up and tries to involve the students. Haven't taken his tests yet, but I recommend you keep up with the notes and lectures. Really friendly and easy to talk to as a professor. I'd take his class again.

Mr. Weintz is an excellent history teacher!! Shows some movies so that keeps the class interesting!! He is very intelligent and knows what he is talking about! If you ever need help he is always willing!

Great class! Take good notes, attend classes and you should get a good grade. Prof. is friendly and interesting. Book helps a bit but the lectures are what help you the most. You won't be sorry taking his class and you just might come away actually enjoying history!!!

Arguably the best professor/teacher I've EVER had - for ANY subject, bar none! Incredibly interesting, very knowledgeable, completely FAIR to those with different/alternative views - not your typical "liberal" professor! Easy going professor that makes the class interesting. Sometimes hard to follow in lecture, but don't worry too much about notes because he gives a very detailed review, which if you study makes the tests easy. There were three tests, one paper, and an optional open note final. Easy A.

He was so funny and i thought good looking.He knew what he was talking about and talk to us as if he was reading it form a story book he was that good at keeping our attion. He only gives essay exams but he give you the essay qustions before hand, and his quizes are a roit. GREAT PROFESSOR!!

One of the best! Tells history like a story. Cares about helping his students learn! Attend classes to get credit on quizzes (you get full credit just for being in class) Does movies & requires a "reaction paper", easy to do. Tests are all essay. Not easy, but you can write as much info as you can on a 3x5 note card, you will learn to write small!

Mr. Weintz is awsome!! He's a really nice and funny guy and he really knows his stuff. His exams were tough though. He doesn't use his text book so it's REALLY important that you show up everyday and take really good notes. He also lets you use a note card for his exams. I passed with an A but it was tough.

Loved him, he is one of the best hisotry teachers i have ever taken. He very helpful and always willing to answer any questions. Go to class if you want to earn point for jut being there. I would take him again for any class he teaches hes awesome!

Funny & likes to joke a lot, if you need help he's there to help you, tests sometimes got hard but you get the questions before hand and you answer 2 questions out of 5 on the test, you also get to use a note card for each test, the final is a take home

Take his class, you will learn a lot. I had a huge crush on him just because he seemed so passionate about the subject and he is funny, and eh not bad looking.

Fair warning- if you do not do well on essay questions, do not take this class. This class is 90% lectures, so if you are a hands on student, the professor is not for you. The lectures are so long and face paced that is very difficult to get everything he is saying down. A tape recorder is recommended.

Awesome History teacher! He is one of my favorite professors ever. Loves what he does is extremely helpful and answers everyone questions. It is an easy class if you study for the essays and come to class to watch the movies. TAKE HIM He is awesome!

Great teacher. Loves to talk about history. He could go on and on. Only has essay tests which can be hard if you don't take good notes. Come to class and take good notes that's all I have to say.

All the tests in Mr. Weintz's class are essay format. He is very knowledgeable and is always available to explain things in detail. The book isn't necessary if you take notes because he covers everything very thoroughly. I used a recorder at times and found it very helpful since his lectures can be fast paced. I would recommend Mr. Weintz.

He is a great teacher.I really enjoyed his lectures. Buy a voice recorder though! It will help you out if you miss something. You need to take really good notes. He gives you the test ahead of time for you to prepare for, and a 3 x 5 card to use of the test. Final is optional. Gives E.C. also. I am taking him again for sure!

Don't buy the book, he will never make you open it and any questions you can ask him. Great teacher and knows how to share his enthusiasm with others. Makes the topic exciting. His tests are all essay and can be hard, he gives you the essay questions weeks before the test so there is no excuse. The last test is take home and the final is scantron.

This class would have probably been extremely boring, but this guy makes the class fun and actually interesting. If you right all your notes like he suggests, you will get an A on every exam.

He lectures a lot but has started going to powerpoints which he will e-mail to you if you miss class.Lectures about the questions right off the test.Will answer any question you ever have and does all that he can to make sure you pass the class.Also has a great sense of humor and I highly recommend Prof. Weintz if you need a histoy class.

I love history and he's great at teaching it. His class is tough and you have to stay on top of things, but you get so much out of it. I've taken another history class that he did not teach and I really miss his style.

Great teacher. Does powerpoints to teach material. GIVES the practice test, which IS the test but in different order and question style. Lets u use a NOTECARD for test. I honestly dont see how you can fail this class. As long as you write down the powerpoint notes as he lectures, your good! He is also very nice and willing to help you.

Lectures every day for 2 hours. Talks fast, but now has PowerPoint slides that covers everything he says. Likes to pump himself up before class and during class by jumping up and down, and shouting "WOO HOO!!" Likes to SWEAR a lot, but that's what makes the class fun. Good sense of humor. From Ohio and likes to think Ohio is a great state. NOT!!!!!

I have no interest in History (Pre-Vet major) but I am taking him again for a second time this coming semester just because I enjoyed HIST 2200 so much. He has you laughing the whole class...about history! HE has amazing stories that you can relate to that make it easier to remember even the most mundane detail. I was excited to come to class.

Pros: His study guides are VERY helpful when it comes to the tests. I've always had problems with history tests but I got nothing lower than a B on my tests in this class. Cons: He underestimates our knowledge. When he tells a joke & no one laughs, he says it went over our heads and we didn't understand, when really, it was just a bad joke.

Really good teacher. His powerpoint lectures are very helpful, gives alot of feedback so you know how you are doing in class. I actually think I will retain everything I learned from this class. This guy is so good he makes Macomb's other teachers look bad.

Very interesting teacher. He's lively and makes history fun to learn. Quizzes were easy and lectures were to the point and interesting. Tests were basically your notes and all were multiple choice with some essay questions. Very fair teacher, would def recommend to another

He gives you everything you need to pass the class; it's just using everything he gives. The exams aren't that hard, but the papers he really wants you to go above and beyond on. You take A LOT of notes in his class. It's quite hard to get an A in his class, but a B isn't so hard with effort, but there is no reason to get anything below a C.

I HATE History! But this professor was AMAZING!!!!! I can't believe how good he was as a teacher. I think this is the first time in my college life that I have gotten an A in history, if you don't count elementary school where all you had to do is take notes and get an A. TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!!!!

Pretty easy for an online course. The tests are word-for-word from the power points! He does grade a bit tougher on essays and discussion board posts though. Still, I would reccommend.

For Sure take his class. He's entertaining, very clear, and super funny. His quizzes are the best part. They usually consist of name ten actors that are Canadian! His Exams go right along with the Power Point. Also I never used my textbook once. Best Professor around

Elton Weintz is a god amongst professors. He is the most entertaining teacher you will ever have. I guarantee it. His presence is amazing and he is very engaging. That being said his class is a lot of work so if you're not lazy and you work hard you'll love this guy.

Took this online and was able to get a 4.0 with three other classes. I would recommend online, because 16weeks of this would be gruesome. Quizzes, lots of DF, and a few short essays. If you can put about 3-4 hours in a week you'll be fine. Also textbook not super mandatory.

Professor Weintz literally gives you everything you need to pass online. The exam review is essentially the exam, and you can take quizzes until you get a 100. His lectures are long and boring, but he tries to make it fun which is admirable. Overall good professor.

Just going to class won't cut it; you actually need to study for the tests to get a good grade. Furthermore I've taken other history classes and the material is actually really boring compared to the other ones. However Weintz does an amazing job of making it as interesting as possible. Take this class only because Weintz is an amazing professor.

Although I've never met Professor Weintz since it was an online class,I couldn't be more happy I took his 8 week course while doing 3 other classes and the same time. But let this be known, THIS IS NOT A BLOW OFF. You will have to work for your A. Extremely clear instructions on what you should have done,but this class had more work than I expected

Instructor Weintz went WAY beyond expectation. I'm not a lover of history, but this guy made the subject quite fascinating... connecting a LOT of things I had not made in my mind prior to taking his class. VERY good professor. He's a little on the progressiveliberal side... so he blends in well within academia. Regardless, pretty decent!

Professor Weintz was definitely a knowledgable professor that knew his history. However, I did not care for how unprofessional he was. If you are someone who gets annoyed with constant swearing, I would suggest another professor. He gave us random attendance quizzes that had nothing to do with what we were learning. Do the study guides for tests!

He's willing to help if you are willing to put in the effort. Class wasn't mandatory, but he gave attendance quizzes every couple classes. His lectures were long, but he tried to make them as fun as possible. You don't need a book and he will tell you that the first day of class.

If you don't do well in his class you simply aren't trying(pretty common of kids at macomb to not study hard enough and then blame teacher). Very very good professor. Don't be part of the 19%

Easily my favorite professor! He presents the material very enthusiastically. He has the class rolling in laughter just about every day. But don't expect to get out of his class early, he will tell you that the first day. This guy is a riot hands down.

Great proffessor. Very clear about what he expects from you. It was my first online course and enjoyed being a part of it. Assignmnets every week as well as quizzes. Three tests, if you study the powerpoints, it should be pretty easy for you. Three essays on different topics of minimum 750 words. Recommended if you're taking history 2200.

Great teacher and great guy. Pay attention and show up and it'll be an easy A. Papers require you to think, which will help you in the tests.

Overall, it was a pretty easy class. My complaints are that his grading and expectations for the discussion posts are a bit ridiculous. I got marked down on every post even though I answered all facets pf his questions in depth. Also, his notes can be unclear. The quizzes (weekly) and tests (3 total) were very easy and I had more than enough time.

This was my first online class, and it went BETTER than i ever expected. You dont need need the book. Go the extra inch for the discussion posts, he likes for you to elaborate, do that and you'll get the full points no problem. AND DO the study guides for the 3 exams, everything you need is on there! The class is very doable and you learn a lot too

First online class taken with this professor. Professor Weintz is an exceptional teacher. If you were to take his class online yo'll find that everything is easily accessible and clear guidelines are set in place. You do have to research some of your own information for the discussions but that helps you learn more material. Definitely take it!

Professor Weintz truly is a great professor. If you fail his class it is just because of pure laziness or lack of caring. He will proof read all papers due throughout the semester and will even proofread the essays for the tests. You are allowed a note card for the test as long as it is handwritten and everything on the study guide is on the test.

Weintz is a great professor. He provides everything on Canvas. He does periodically do attendance quizzes which you get credit just for being there. Only 3 exams & 3 papers(only required to do 2 papers). Can use handwritten notecard on tests. Provides an exam review for each test(DO THEM). The test is directly from review.

Professor Weintz is awesome. I took his post civil war history class online. Your grade will mostly be based on writing assignments and quizzes/tests. The class was extremely interesting and eye opening, a lot of it is extremely relevant to what is happening in American today.

Weekly power points, homework, and quizzes. Very few tests- based strictly off PP's, read them! Replies to emails very quickly. Very clear instructions on how he grades. Let's you play "Devil's Advocate" during some online discussion boards - the best part! Easy A for sure.

Took this class online; literally impossible to get anything under a 90% I was never concerned about my grade, so it was easy to actually learn the content. Super easy class and super easy professor. Heard he's equally as amazing in seated classes. No complaints at all. Loved this prof and class

Idk why there isn't a review on his online sociology class yet but this was a very easy class. He provides the ppts and its highly recommended to read the chapter as well cuz some things aren't covered in the ppts. Is very clear on what he wants and there's a sociology journal that you keep throughout the 8 wks, no papers! Really easy if you try!

Took this class online. Not too bad. Quizzes are 10 questions and all except questions but you have 25 minutes which gives you enough time to go back and look through the PowerPoints. Weintz provides a lot of feedback but is a bit of a tough grader on discussions and the two critical thinking (750 word) assignments.

Elton is AMAZING! I have had more than one class with him and both times I have passed with an A! His lectures are informative and helpful with the assignments. There is a quiz every week but only 10 questions and you have unlimited times to take it! There are 3 essays but only 2 are required and grading is clear! He gives great feedback! TAKE HIM!

I definitely enjoyed his online class, his lectures were not too wordy and were broken down to be easily understood. I actually liked his discussions, be aware you must be very descriptive. The exams and quizzes were not too bad, nor were the critical thinking assignments. it was very attainable to receive an A.

This guy is awesome, easily in my top 5 favorite professors. His lectures are always clear and relevant to the tests, but not boring at all. He always seemed to keep the class engaged. Don't expect him to cut class early, he WILL keep you the entirety of the class, and he will make you aware of that from the start. Highly recommend this professor.

I've taken different courses with him and he's probably one of the best speakers at Macomb. Enthusiastic is a good way to put it for someone who has to repeat the same lecture a few times a day, but he doesn't seem to be bored by it.

One of the coolest and funniest professors I ever had. I had him in the summer, and I wish his class lasted longer than 6 weeks. Always enjoyed his lectures. He's a fair grader and it's not just a simple A either, despite being relatively easy class anyways.

I took his class online, the work load was only reading a lecture or two, discussion board, and a quiz every week and an exam every few weeks and 2 writing assignments. SOCY1010 is the third class I've taken with Weintz. Seriously the best professor at MCC. SOCY was much like his HIST classes. You're doing something wrong if you get a final grade less than an A. A little bit tough grading on discussions, but you get to retake quizzes and one exam, so honestly it doesn't really impact your grade. Great guy!!!

I had Professor Weintz and I thought he was great. Most of the assignments are pretty easy but require time and effort. Very straightforward and respectful professor. I learned a lot about critical thinking and analysis with this class. The feedback for assignments is very detailed and lengthy which I appreciated a lot.

Great professor. Attendance will help your grade out in the end it bumped my grade from a B to a B+. He clearly explains how to get good grade and offers to look at the study guides and papers before papers and exams are due. An overall solid choice!

What you'd expect from a history class, classwork wise. As long as you read the chapter and PowerPoints provided for each chapter you should have no problem completing assignments. Study guides are provided with each exam. Professor Wientz is understanding and easy going. Any issues you have with the course reach out to him on canvas email.

He understands that this is an elective so the workload is lighter. All test questions come from the powerpoint slides and study guide he gives for each test. DO STUDY GUIDE. There are 8 modules with a discussion board and an easy quiz. Three 75 question exams and 2 critical thinking papers. He does grade tough, so put thought into the writing.

Great professor. He responds to emails and answers your questions right away. If you have the study guide for the exams you should do well on the exams. quizzes are unlimited attempts until you get 100%. discussions are tough, but the more you mention in the discussion the better your grade will be. i'd definitely take another class w/him again.

Super respectful teacher. He grades a tad tough on the discussions but never gotten anything lower than an A- on them. Quizzes are super easy they are except questions. My only complaint is his tests. He doesn't prepare you enough for them. He gives optional study guides. His tests are 50 questions and then 20 except questions. Would take again.

Professor Weintz is well-spoken and engaging. The grading was clear cut and the work load was very reasonable. Attendance was rewarded with extra credit.

Although I took this class online and never talked with him, Professor Weintzs Canvas page is very well organized. Decent amount of powerpoint readings and a few videos, but very manageable workload. one quiz and 500 word discussion due per week with 3 exams thrown in. Never used a textbook either. I enjoyed this course and thought Prof. Weintz was great. There are 2 exams, a weekly quiz and a weekly 500+ word discussion post. If you get 100% on every weekly quiz by the end of semester he adds 2% onto your final grade. Exam Q's are straight from weekly quiz's and you can take quiz's as many times as you want. I would recommend this course!

Really good teacher! Learned a LOT in his class. Workload was very manageable, 1 quiz and 1 essay due each week. Gives amazing feedback on essays which expand your topic and help you learn more. Very liberal submission policy, unlimited attempts on quizzes to get the best score. Definitely wants you to learn and succeed. Hope to have him again!

I took an online course and we had one weekly discussion post and one quiz. You could take the quiz as many times as you'd like and if you perfected all your tests you could get extra credit. Discussion posts need to be over 500 words, but we could skip 2 weeks with no penalty. I got 100% in this class, he makes it easy if you apply yourself.

I highly recomment Professor Weintz for anyone who is interested in history and actually wants a class where you will be able to learn the material. His classes are organized in such a way that they are not overwhelming and, if you do the work and apply yourself, you should do very well in this class. :~)

Professor Weintz is engaging and provides clear grading expectations. The workload is reasonable, and attendance is rewarded. While the quizzes and exams can be challenging, using resources like Unstuck AI helps with study prep.

The class was pretty easy but informative. He let you use ai on papers as long as you cited it. Really nice and laidback guy. The workload was a quiz and paper every week with reading. If you got 100% on all the quizzes (which you could retake as many as you want) you didn't have to do the final. You only had to do six out of the eight papers!

While you do have to read to pass his class, he makes things very simple by putting all of the need to know into a PowerPoint for you. His expectations are also very clear. There are 8 essays but you only need to do 6. He gives a really detailed response to your essays - make sure you mention all the key events and you will do fine!

Great course and professor. I would recommend taking! I took one day a week to finish that weeks work and at most would take me 2 hours to finish. Canvas was very organized and all the instructions were very clear.

Amazing professor. Retake the reading quizzes as much as possible to get 100% and you won't have to take the final. If you put a lot of detail and examples in your writing while citing, you will pass the class.
