Come to class, take notes, and don't act like a pompous know-it-all and you'll make A's. Yes he has no intellectually savy but he doesnt care about that. He came to tallahassee for the fsu football and to teach, not to babysit wanabe intellectuals.

Lots of test review, lots of extra credit opportunity for just being in class. Lecture is a bit repetitive and unclear at times. He's really into 'seafloor spreading', football and fishing.

He makes this class so interesting. Some people dont show up to his class, then wonder why they fail, well, he takes attendance but this isn't a class you'd want to miss. He is passionate about what he does and is a great, dedicated professor. I would recommend him highly

HE is a very nice professor! Class is easy-if U can't pass his class U are a dumb end. He gives lots of chances for extra credit and he wants U to get a good grade. Take him!

Nice guy and funny at times. Class isn't too hard either. Just study your notes from class and the CD that comes with the book, and you'll do fine! he also has lots of extra credit oppurtunities.

he is a great teacher. but what you have to understand is that its just a hard class in general. he says he doesn't do make ups, but if you talk to him as soon as you can about it he usually lets you. you have to do the reading for his class and i highly recommend the cd rom in the book because thats where he gets alot of his test questions.

He's a good teacher and you'll learn a lot from his class. I know there are a lot of so-so reviews on him here, but I'll be honest with you: If you want a good grade you just have to READ THE BOOK and do the sample questions in the back of the chapters -- that's where like 90% of the test questions come from. If you do that, you'll be fine.

READ YOUR BOOK!!! That's where almost all his test questions come from. The quizes are usually things he covers in class (and what he uses for attendance on occasion) All the quiz scores add up for one test grade so go to class!!!

Biology is a HARD subject! A lot of tests and quizzes. He is a fair teacher. Read the book, study a lot and you will pass the class

Talks about football (he hates the Gators) and drinking alcohol and not speaking to his wife a lot. Randomly strays from the lecture to talk about something that angers him (and a lot of things do). You must go to class! Lecture notes are key. He makes sure to take points away from people who don't show up for class. hard unless u r interested

Slackers, please don't blame the prof for YOUR failure to study and come to class prepared. This is a college LECTURE course (read the class description). That being said, if you take good notes and study as you go along you will do well on the quizzes and the tests. This is NOT a difficult subject - as long as you go to class and keep up!

The class was really easy if you show up to class everyday and take notes. He is a pretty funny guy. I recommend him 100%. <3

Go to class and take notes!!! That is the only way you will pass the class. I personally thought the teacher was a ... He has this way of making everyone feel dumb, but a lot of the other students seemed to like him as long as they kept quiet. He's funny in a way and you do learn a lot. Don't take the class if you don't want to take the time to go.

This guy definitley knows his stuff and expects his students to come out with some general knowledge of biology. He is from the old skool. If you are a slacker and not big on studying please save yourself the stress of having to retake the course. Attendance is imperative, take good notes, study, skim over the book and you will do just fine, trust

Great teacher. He really does know his stuff but if you just go to class and take notes you can pass with an A. He drops 10 f the 20 quizzes and one test. Good Luck! SEMPER FI!

He truly does know his stuff. If you just go to class and pay attention and take notes then you willget an A especially since he lets you use your notes on the tests. Also the grading scall is different and an 88%-100% is an A 78%-87% is a B 67%-77% is a C so just study and do well Good Luck SEMPER FI!

Great prof, knows ALOT about bio, gets off topic sometimes so you really have to pay attention. GO TO CLASS!! most of his test is on his lecture notes. I didn't even buy the book for this class. I looked over my notes at least once before the test and got an A on all of them. I would def recommend him if your a student who actually goes to class.

I took him over the summer. Vey easy class!! I didnt purchase a book, just took really good notes. The quizzes were off the lecture notes, and sometimes he would give attendence quizzes. So just come to class!!! The test are so easy, and he let us use our notes for 15min of the test. Just smack yourself if u fail his class!!

This guy is great just show up and show him that you give a crap and he will return the favor by working with you on any problems you might have through out the course. he also has a great personality. highly recommend.

Mr. Woodward is a great professor and I enjoyed his class even though it was very challenging. He is hilarious in class and very nice and helpful when students ask him questions. He remembers his students and cares about everyone. If there is a problem with grading, just explain what is wrong and he might change it. The material is hard so be ready

Contrary to what most people here are saying, I thought his class was the easiest; I ranked #1 with a 99.7%. He gives tons of extra credit that surmounts to an entire test grade, and the lectures are easy to follow. No book required even. Says he teaches just for fun; awesome bloke.

I thought he class was easy. It was a fun class, but he has a hidden disire to be a poli. sci. teacher haha. Just show up and take good lecture notes (as he'll mention) and you'll do fine.

Proffesor Woodward is one of the best teachers I have had. He is so very helpful with things that are not understood and very lenient with personal issues that can keep you out of class. His motto is to "come to class and take good lecture notes." If you do that, then you are good to go! :-)

Acts tough but gives clear lectures, provides extra credit, and gives you plenty of opportunities to bring/keep your grade up. Was not particularly interested in biology and didn't do well on the major tests, but showed up every day, took notes, did the extra credit, and passed with a B.

Mr. Woodward is an excellent teacher. If you have any questions or need help clearly understanding anything, he is always available. I take home my lecture notes and type them up with additional info from my book. If you put forth effort to study and know the material, the tests are not bad. I definitely suggest him if you are a science major.

He's hilarious, really knows his stuff. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he gives attendance quizzes. Drops lowest test score, final not cumulative. Very understanding. Extremely sarcastic, but i loved it! Don't use your phones, he WILL call you out on it.

At first I was upset about having to just about take a quiz every week, but then I realized I was always staying focused and making B's or better. His humor is funny he says certain things to see if you are paying attention. DO NOT use your cell phone, he will call you out on it. Take notes,notes,notes, everything he lectures about is on the test.

Mr. Woodward is a great teacher! His lectures are more like him rambling, but if you write down every little thing and pay attention there is no way for you to not get an A in his class. I definitely recommend him as a professor.

This was by far my favorite class this past spring semester. He is very helpful and hilarious. He is strict on attendance and takings notes so if you are a slacker don't bother taking his class. I got a B. his grading scale is designed for you to pass. TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!

LOVED HIM. he is passionate about oceanography and probably the only professor who makes the lectures very enjoyable. showed up to every class and did my best. got a b couldve gotten an a but didnt do so well on the quizes he gives. test are pretty comprehensible and are easy to study for. take him. so worth your money

He is such a great teacher and makes the class interesting and fun. He's one of the few teachers who teaches because he loves it and really cares for his students. He is always willing to help or work with you! Would definitely recommend!

Very good teacher! He loves to teach & he gets really excited about the material. Lecture isn't too boring - he keeps the class engaged & tells lots of jokes. Material is hard - you won't pass his class if you don't take it seriously.

Come prepared to take notes and have a quiz once a week. Attendance is important. Grading scale is designed to pass. He is very funny but some of his lectures are all over the place. Overall good teacher, but material is sometimes difficult. You have to really apply yourself to do good on the test.

Mr. Woodward's tests were pretty difficult, but if you take good notes and listen to the lectures you should be okay. He also gives a lot of pop quizzes. Overall, I thought he was really well-spoken and he helped me a lot. If you e-mail him about your absences, he'll help you through what needs to be done to improve your grade. I'd take him again.

Mr. Woodward cares a lot about oceanography, but can sometimes be unaware of certain learning curves. He thinks a lot is common knowledge but it wasn't for most of the class. Read the book, outline the chapters. Gives extra credit if you know answers and no one else does. LOTS of quizzes so you have to really work and read ahead. Grading curve

He gives a lot of quizzes but if you miss one for a legitimate reason he will let you retake it without giving you problems about it. HIs class is mostly lecture but he uses a lot of visuals to explain what he is talking about. He tells you what he's going to put on the tests during his lectures, tests are really easy if you pay attention.

This dude is crazy. If you want a funny lecture take him. He knows what he is talking about and as long as you take good lecture notes and read the book, you'll do fine. He loves giving extra credit and making pop attendance quizzes. Don't skip class or you will probably fail.
