Good teacher, tests are decent...you get to drop one! You can definitely get an A!

I had her for both micro and biology. She is a very good teacher. If you study your notes before the test you will do great.

Animated and enthusiastic instructor. Download your notes from text publishers web site. She follows those almost to a T. Will save you writing. Uses visuals and tests fairly. You will learn a lot in this class.

Tests are significantly harder than a 2000-level class should be. I've taken numerous 4000-level Biology courses, and this fits in with the hardest of those. Reviews are pretty worthless, though the notes are good.

Lots and lots of notes. Take them all. Tests questions are always directly from the notes. Basically just memorize your notes. She is very smart, but not very patient about explaining in class.

This is a tough class that you need to study daily for. I think that Prof. Ervin is a really good instructor. She knows microbiology really well and you will learn a lot. Memorize your notes. I enjoyed this class!

Great teacher! I had her for Anatomy 1 and microbiology. I would recommend her to anyone! Her tests are from the notes. You dont need the textbook. She does a great job teaching the material!

VERY hard teacher... however she is helpful and a nice person. She does do reviews the class day before exams so if you bring questions she is happy to answer them. She does use things from the book like examples and some of the example MC in the book she will put directly on the test (if some people on here read the book they would know that!)

I had her for micro. She is a good instructor, really knows her stuff and helpful. However, her tests are hard and she seems to try and trick you up on the questions. You have to go to every class and get the notes, plus write down ANYTHING extra she tells you. Then memorize ALL your notes and the extras and you may do okay on your exam.

Good Teacher very knowledgable and passonate about topics! Tests are right from her notes so memorize them! Alot of studying will get you a good grade!

This course requires you to know a LOT of information. However I found everything we learned very interesting. And Prof. Ervin was very knowledgable about what she taught, and really cared for the subject. Plus she's very approachable. However, if you like skipping class, don't take this. You must attend EVERY class.

Professor Ervin is very knowledgable and passionate about A&P. You need to attend almost every class & make sure you study the notes..that's where ALL the exam questions come from! The info is a lot to know & can be difficult at times, but she is more than willing to meet with you to help you in any way! she's a sweet person &I highly recommend her

I don't know what the other people are talking about. Yes, her class is tough, but just as tough as any other college course. Her exams are a bit tough. Just be careful on the true/false questions. Make sure you read them carefully and make sure all parts of the statement are true. But, overall a pretty easy course.

No room for "discussion" which means she will give you the notes and that's it. She won't answer questions if they don't pertain to her exams. She is helpful in office hours. Study the notes she gives you. Don't buy the book.

This class is tough from beginning to end. Memorize the notes inside and out. Make an attempt to meet with this professor during office hours she is very willing to help and less intimidating in person. I would recommend going to supplemental instruction all semester long if you need help to pass.

She is a very good professor. If you study for the exams there is no way that you will not do well. Her tests are straightforward and she drops your lowest. I studied the night before each exam and I did great. Your effort will reflect your grade.

I did horrible in this class. She does know what she is talking about but her tests are 65 questions 1 bonus and her true and false just set you up to fail. I do not recommend her. She has clickers but its worth nothing about 15 points the whole semester.

She is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is a very good speaker and puts an interest in her students when you speak to her one on one. This is my second time in her course and you always know what to expect on exams and quizzes. This course material is tough but she gives you what you need to succeed in the class.

I liked her as an instructor. She speaks well, like another student mentioned she is a great speaker. Only complaint that she tends to go over the slides to fast but there is a LOT of material to learn. I didn't read the book, only used her notes. I found out a little to late that re-writing the notes helps memorize material better.

Elyce is a phenomenal lecturer and knows her stuff backwards and forwards. She is also available to help anyone who is willing to work. Her class is no bird course - tough material and lots of it! But she will give you the best possible chance to learn the information. You don't need the book - just KNOW your notes for the test.

Prof Ervin was a good prof and I would recommend her to someone who really wanted to learn. There were 6 exams, plus the final (so 7 total). It felt like we had an exam every other week. Know the notes forward and backward and you will do fine. Exams are all multiple choice, truefalse, and matching. If there is SI offered, GO! It saved my grade

Professor Ervin is a really good professor. All her quizzes and exam questions come straight from the notes. Make sure you go to class so that you take down the notes and understand them. Group work is pretty fun but make sure you choose the right people to work with. She is very helpful and will clear any confusion if any!

Her tests are long but she only puts on the tests whats written down word for word on the notes. The notes that she hands out to you that if you show up for class are copies of her power points, where all you have to do is fill in a couple words. I suggest making note cards of each slide and if you study those this class is a piece of cake

Very fair professor in my opinion. Go to class, engage yourself, study the notes, and the class is fairly easy. Exams are mixed with multiple choice, T/F, and matching. Majority of the questions have one very clear answer but obviously, there's tricky ones as well. No book needed and all you need to do is study the notes.

Tests come straight from power point slides. Almost weekly group work/quizzes. A lot of test, but aren't very difficult. All T/F, multiple choice and matching. Easy class to get an A in if you actually try. She's willing to help but you have to ask for it.

I took this class online, condensed down to 6 weeks. There is a lot of information, but if you know your notes inside-out there is no reason you should not get an A on her exams. Every exam question is directly from the notes. Fair and pleasant professor. QUICK grader and answers emails within minutes. STUDY and this class is not hard.

I thought Professor Ervin did an amazing job teaching this class. I was having trouble at first, but then I made an appointment to meet with her and she was super helpful. She is one of the smartest professors I have ever had. I enjoyed her class immensely. Take the time to really understand the material and you should have no problem.

Prof. Ervin did a great job teaching this class. Her lectures are interesting and informative, her lecture notes are fill-in. Her expectations and grading criteria are clear. If you don't go to class you won't pass. I never used the book once everything you need for the tests are from her notes - so don't waste your money.

This class has A LOT of information but she teaches it well. We have group work and quizzes which help you prepare for the exams. Make sure you go to class. That is the only way to get notes. I was worried this class would be hard and I did just fine. If you are willing to work for it you will do well. I would take her class again.

My favorite professor yet. She seems very unapproachable at first, but I went to her office hours (which I suggest) and she is totally awesome! Go to class everyday and sit by good people because you have group work. Her exams and quizzes come straight from the PP which she posts so as long as you study you will be fine.

This class is very challenging. Be prepared to take an exam like every other week. If you go to class, and spend a lot of time out of class reviewing the material, you'll do great. Forewarning, The first three exams are harder than the last three. Once you get into the diseases, it is really interesting!

Prof. Ervin was one of the best professors I've ever had. She made a difficult and interesting topic easy to understand and had clear grading criteria. All of her testing and quizzes come from her lecture notes. Her notes have blanks so attending class is a must. There is group work, beware of those you sit around.

I liked this class, actually. Thought it was pretty easy -the exams are literally from the notes, so just study the notes really well and you'll be gucci. She's nice enough and a good lecturer in my humble opinion. There's some group work and quizzes, but nothing big. No final but 6 exams. Don't stress! You'll be ok. Do NOT take online. Good luck!

Great professor, actually one of my favorites. This class was super interesting and I highly enjoyed it, especially the second half. The quizzes, tests, and group work come directly from the notes so make sure to study the notes!! She also gives an extra credit assigment, but MAKE SURE TO READ THE INTSRUCTIONS. Get to know her, she is fabulous!!!

As long as you pay attention and study a bit you'll pass. Make sure to listen what she repeats over and over because it will mostly like be on the exam.

Attendance is not mandatory but all exam material comes from lecture, you will not do well if you skip class. Class is hard but not impossible. She is very knowledgeable in her material. Get ready to study!!!

Microbiology is very difficult and contains a lot of material. She is very knowledgeable about what she's teaching but you have to review the slides before every class. Test are 75 questions which are composed of matching, true/false, and multiple choice. I barely got a C but I learned a lot about this subject.

As long as you show up to class and know the notes really well you will be fine. Her exam questions are right from the notes. Overall, if you put the effort into it, she will do all she can to help you succeed.

In my opinion, she made it easy to learn. With it being microbiology, it was very lecture heavy but she was able to make it interesting and easy. She is a very kind lady during the video lectures and the few times I had to reach out. Her exams aren't too hard, just keep studying! Also, it is test heavy! Mainly just quizzes and exams.

I really ended up loving this professor. She was straightforward and made her expectations very clear. She was always willing to answer questions and cared if her students did well. This course is very lecture heavy, but as long as you show up and take the notes you will be okay. Use her office hours to get to know her, she is very nice and actually cares about how you are doing and wants everyone to succeed. Her class is difficult but as long as you go to lectures you will be perfectly fine as her tests come exactly from her notes. Mainly graded on only exams and very few assignments. She is an amazing human being and cares about her students very much. Go to her about anything you are confused about and she is always willing to help.

The 6 exams and 6 assignments for this class allowed everyone to showcase what they knew. The exams are intimidating, but with proper studying and completing the assignment, this class is perfectly manageable. I especially liked that she posted lecture videos to view again or for absences, and always did a review day for exams. She is very kind

Lecture notes are long and text heavy but she will never put something on the exam that was not in the notes. No extra credit and the only grades are quizzes and exams. It's a big info dump but a very thorough class.

Ok this class is not as bad as everyone says it is. Yes it's exam heavy & ur only grade in the class but her lecture notes are detailed & the exam is just questions from the slides. The only thing is that if u miss an exam/quiz it's an automatic 0 but honestly just pay attention to the dates. I missed a quiz but still ended with an A in the class.

The class consists of only quizzes and exams for the grade. However, anything that she tests on is covered in her notes. She has clear expectations, and her notes are organized in a way that is easy to understand. The tough part about this class is just that it's a lot of heavy information.
