She was very helpful, friendly, and she was always willing to spend extra time on material if anyone needed it.
Okay, nice lady and all, but she has an accent and always gets off topic. With her, you'd probably be better off finding out whats gonna be on the test and just staying home and teaching yourself out the book. She confused me on a daily basis.
Her accent makes it difficult to understand her...but she was extremely nice!!! If you go ask her about your work or your grade she will help you. The class was pretty easy, tests are really easy...and she does spend a lot of time on material and will extend hmwk dates like its nothin!! Group quizes

She has an accent, but still she's clear. Homework is much, just like any other teacher. She's very good at explaining problems & her tests are fair. I managed to get an A in this class, but really, she's easy on the subject & grading.
She's a good teacher and knows what she's talking about. She makes the class fun by making jokes and using funny metaphors. She is a bit repeatitive, but that helps you learn. I would recommend her though, because she makes sure you understands it and is flexible with her office hours.
She has a thick polish accent - I found it hard to follow at times, but she's a kind person who wants her students to do well. I have a gpa of 3.8, but managed only a "b" in this class becuase she couldn't get me excited about the subject.
great teacher! the first day, i didn't think i was going to like the class because of her accent, but by the third day i could understand her perfectly. she's a very good teacher and really wants students to learn. she's very helpful..on quizes she'll glance at it when you hand it in and point out if you made a mistake and let you fix it.
Pretty easy class. She is hard to understand but if you pay attention it gets easier. Loves to teach by examples but it works... found it easier to understand if I read the book and went to class.
She is the kindest person I've ever met...even I've never taken a class with her, but she helped me big time...I have to say she helped during the most troubled time of my life...Thanks Mrs. Ella Jackiewicz...I will never forget your generous help!!
She didn't understand I work full time, 40 hours a week, M-F, 9-5, which means I couldn't make it to all the classes. I missed some quizes because of it (hurt my grade), and she wants you to take the tests on your own time (which I don't have much of). The subject was easy, class was easy, and she's too not horrible. A boring lecture overall.
Vein-openingly boring lecture. Tests disproportionately hard compared with homework. Had a tutor and I still had to drop. BEWARE!!!
I could not stand being in this class. It was so boring and I think it took all my strength not to fall asleep. It was really easy if you read the examples out of the book. She is a really nice lady, don’t get me wrong. I would not recommend her for statistics.
This was the worst class I have taken. She would get upset at the class for asking questions and is hard to understand. She looks at the ground when teaching and talks to the chalk board. The class was very boring and I learned more from the book. I am an A student and couldnt pass. I would not recommend her.
While this teacher isn't very helpful, the book more than makes up for it. I went to class and took notes and didn't listen to the teacher. Then when test time came I read the chapters and ended up aceing the class. She gives you a 4-5 note card for each test. The class can be easy but don't count on the teacher for help. Just read the book.
She is extremely hard to understand, and when I say you can't understand her, you need to DEF rely on a book or a tutor. I would recommend doing everything possible to get a new teacher. Not worth busting your butt when you're not getting anything back from the teacher.
She is very difficult to understand. She has a thick accent and pauses in her sentences. It is very hard to pass her class. there are only quizzes given and test. no homework to boost your grade. i recommend you dropping this class and getting a new teacher if possible.
If you have a hard time with math to begin with, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. She is very hard to understand- going to class is almost pointless. The tests are very different from the examples/quizzes she gives. There is no EC or HW to raise your grade, and the quizzes arent worth much, if you do poorly on two tests you will not pass the class.
She pretty much sucks, but the class is easy. Attendance is mandatory so just use the time in class to do your homework and you'll be fine. Read the book, do your homework, don't listen to her.
She has a heavy accent and most of the time you can only understand certain things she says. Bring your book because I tried to take notes, but her handwriting is horrible. I basically learned from the book which is more helpful than her and aced all my exams. She's basically useless bc she doesn't even grade the hw you turn in!!

This was literally the WORST class I have ever taken. I really wish I would have checked out this site before taking the class. She teaches you nothing at all. Buy the book and teach yourself, because that is your best bet. But if possible, drop the class if you have Jackiewicz and take another class!!!
Honestly, she's not as bad as some people say she is. Yeah, it's hard to understand her at times, and she goes off on tangents, but she's a really nice lady, and she'll go out of her way to try and help you as best as she can if you just ask. Just go to class, do your hw, study b/f tests, and you'll do well in class.
Hard to understand b/c of accent. Goes off subject, loses the attention of the class. Encourages you to come see her for help if your confused, however, she makes you feel stupid when you go in for help. I am not very good at math and when i went in for help she was very hesitant with providing guidance and gave off a lot of negativity.
This class is already super boring, and she just makes it 10x worse. I could NOT understand a word this woman said, and only showed up to class to sign the attendance sheet. All of her examples are right from the book- in fact, I read the chapters as she taught and figured it out faster than those who relied on her teaching skills- or lack of.
Very nice lady, her accent is sometimes distracting, but her notes are helpful and clear, and if you're pretty good at math you can easily do well in the class.
before i start this review i will say that I AM A 4.0 student so you know i am not a slacker. THIS TEACHER WAS HORRIBLE. you cannot understand ANYTHING she says... on top of that she is a horrible teacher and she does not care about the students. i had surgery and she said to bad you still will get an absense. DO NOT TAKE HER. DROP THE CLASS!!!
This is the worst teacher I have ever had. She's polish and has the worst accent ever. Impossible to understand. She shouldn't be allowed to be a teacher at a university. I am very good at math and her makes it impossible for me to learn the information. Im letting everyone know to not take her class for whatever subject.
I read these ratings and decided to take her anyways cause it worked with my schedule...I made a BIG mistake. Her accent is soo thick you can't understand her, she breezes through notes and has no regard for your comprehension of the material. Homework/quizzes are all multiple choice but the tests are not, bs. BEWARE!
Very nice lady. She has clear well thought out notes and explains everything very well. Her group quizzes mirror the tests. She sets you up to succeed, so it is difficult to do poorly.
Professor Jackiewicz is a great teacher. Her accent is a bit thick, but not incomprehensible. Her notes are very clear and concise and she goes over many examples. The tests and quizzes are almost identical to what is covered in class. Basically if you take good notes and make an effort to do well, it's an easy class. She doesn't deal with excuses
Drop this class NOW! She doesn't clarify if you don't understand and will look at you stupid if you do ask. Notes are illegible on the white board. Accent is so thick you have to listen very very carefully. Haven't opened the book once. DROP THIS CLASS!!!
Hard to understand. She doesn't explain what variables in the equations stand for. She gets mad when students ask questions. Lecture seems to last forever as she rambles. Overall not a good class. You'll end up teaching yourself with the textbook.
I asked a question and simply received a NO for an answer. She has an arrogant attitude and belittles students for asking questions. Extremely unapproachable and not helpful. I had to teach myself as we went along. Worst professor I've had. I'm just lucky the material is easy.
The material is easy ... but she makes it difficult so you do have to teach yourself. She doesn't teach you how to use the calculator for the equations till basically the day the homework is due ... which is gay imo. Thick accent, grades pretty harshly. Pretty much, she sucks. she takes a role.

She is kind of hard to understand, but the content of the course is simple. If math isn't your forte, you have to be willing to open the text book every once in a while for in depth explanations. Homework is both reasonable and easy. All quizzes are group quizzes, so there is no reason why you should do poorly on them. Overall, simple, easy class.
She is a very boring but easy teacher. She does a good job a covering the material and at the end of each section there is a quiz (work in pairs). The test are very similar to the quizzes and you can bring notes to the test. Her accent is hard to understand for about a week or two then you get used to it. Don't get the book, never use it.
This class is not that bad at all. Her tests are way easy and she gives about 10 percent extra credit on them. She does have an accent but it isn't that hard to understand her when she speaks
If you already struggle with math, do not take this professor. I had all my homework, but one turned in, and my grade suffered severely. Going to class is mandatory because of pop quizzes. I attended her office hours to get help, and left confused than when I had gotten there.
She tries very hard to teach the material but for some reason I had difficulty understands her lectures.What I like most about this teacher is that she really wants her students to pass. She gives out formula sheet and allows students to use calculators for exams. Exams are on Math testing center. Text book is mandatory and material is easy.
The content is pretty easy and she makes the quizzes straight off of her notes. And the tests are literally the quizzes. Attedance IS mandatory because there are pop quizzes, but they are all group quizzes so there should be no reason to do poorly. Her accent is thick but not that difficult to understand. You should take her if you need the class.
Very nice lady! Study the quizzes - the exams are the exact copy of them practically. Go to class - there are random quizzes. Take good notes! Need text book for homework. It also clears up some the material for you. Her accent is strong, but you get used to it. The material is easy - just a matter of knowing what equations to use
I wouldn't recommend. This is a fairly easy class that Jackiewicz makes sound harder. She over explains a lot, has an extremely thick accent so you MUST pay attention during class and attendance is mandatory because she gives out random group quizzes. Overall fairly easy class, but I was teaching myself for the most part. Would not recommend!
I have no idea why people are complaining. She is one of the easiest professors I've ever had. Just go to class, look alive, and take notes. She doesn't have a cumulative final, you can use a one-page cheat sheet on the tests, and you have in-class quizzes you can do with partners. The material is SO easy, all you have to do is put a little effort.
Accent wasn't to much of an issue. Doesn't explain things incredibly clearly, for me it was very important to read/study each section myself out of the book. Even if you have to teach yourself it is still worth taking Stats with her for the lack of a comprehensive final for sure. Definitely need to turn up for class, and don't be late.
One of the worst professors i have ever had. First of all, she doesn't explain things very well so you pretty much have to teach yourself each lesson. She is very rude and looks annoyed when you ask her questions. On the plus side, she allows you one page of notes you can use during the exam and you are allowed one partner for every quiz.
My first class at college and I get a professor with a thick Polish accent! You get used to the accent but the material is really dry and if you have a morning class like I did it's difficult to stay away with her lecturing. Overall easy but you mostly teach yourself. Final exam isn't cumulative.

She doesn't make this class nearly as hard as it could be: Extra credit, 1 page of notes allowed during test, and non-cumulative final. I am not a math genius, but got a very good grade. The homework takes a lot of time and attendance is mandatory, but that's what you(r parents) are paying for after all. And she has a very dry funny sense of humor!
Horrible professor who doesn't know how to teach, if you don't have a hard class schedule then take her, BUT if you do it will hurt your gpa because you teach yourself everything and try to memorize how she does things. It's easy to get a B in her class, but an A isn't. Shes prob the easiest stats professor if you have time to teach yourself.

I do not recommend her. At all. She was sarcastic and rude. You are not allowed to ask questions in her class because she will become offended that you weren't paying attention. She also admitted at the beginning of the class that her homework is unrelated to her tests so we should complete it and then ignore it. I got an A because I taught myself.
Not the best at math but I got an A. It's so easy. She gives you 7 attempts for each question on the homework (for each section) which is online so it is possible to get an A on all the hmwk, if you put forth effort. One sheet of notes for each test, incl. the final (which is not cumulative BTW). Test ?'s come from in class work, so keep those.
Her accent isn't even that bad. If you show up to class everyday and turn in the homework whether it's complete or not you'll definitely get an A. I never fully completed the homework assignments but I still turned them in. I went into the final with a 90 I got a 70 on the final and she still gave me an A. Easy A
The homework is super tedious, and she can be kind of boring, but overall not bad at all when compared to Richardson. There's extra credit on the tests and she is a really, really nice lady. It takes a little work after the first test, but she's your best option. I didn't study at all for 2 of her harder tests and still did well on them.
This professor sucks! I couldn't understand anything she said. Her accent is very strong. You literally have to teach yourself in this class because she doesn't know how to teach. I would have done better in the class if i took it online. Oh and her test have information on them that she never taught us before the test.

If you normally get A's this class is a breeze. Cheat sheet on every test, and if you do the homework, you're set. Yeah, it's tedious but def worth boosting the GPA. Make your cheat sheet as you go and write down formulas from MasteringStats and you won't have to really pay attn in class. Sample tests help with real ones, but so do class exercises
Probably the worst teacher I've ever had, period. Her tests don't relate to the homework assignments, she has an extremely thick accent, her lectures are tediously boring, and I feel like she doesn't care about the well being of her students. No extra credit accept for 5 points on tests and she doesn't curve. Rude, thinks she's always right.

She's great as a person, really nice and you can tell she wants to help students. However, I can't understand a word she says. Going to class was pointless, but attendance is mandatory. I had to get help from other people and tutors because when I asked her a question she explained everything to me BUT the question I asked. Don't take this class.
Her accent makes it very difficult to understand what she is teaching. Not only that but she goes off on tangents adding 20 minutes to the class. There is also an attendance policy so despite the lecture being useless you have to show up. The cheat sheet is not actually helpful don't let yourself be blinded by that add on like I was.
Ela is a really nice lady, but her accent can make it hard to understand what she is saying a lot of the time. I sat in the second row and even then I was still straining to figure it out. I went in to get help a lot of the time and gave it my best shot, and math is definitely not my strong suit, but she is there to help if you ask for it.
By far the worst professor I have ever had. Math used to be my easiest subject until this class. Should of dropped the class when I had the chance! Out of 60 students only less than 20 lasted and I doubt even half passed the class. Reconsider taking this class!
Everyone is commenting about her polish accent. Yes it makes things difficult. She writes in small, sloppy cursive so taking notes is difficult even if you're in the front row. Everything I learned was from homework and outside class. Attendance is mandatory although lectures are unhelpful, mostly examples of things you don't understand. lots of HW

This was probably the worst class ever. Very unclear in her lectures and even when you ask for help you won't gain anything from it. Attendance is mandatory but honestly her lectures make stats more confusing for me. I cannot believe I passed this class. Do NOT take it.
She is very nice but her accent is what makes her class the most unclear. If you want to take notes sit up front, she writes very small. I find her online notes and the textbook the only thing I learn from. There is a lot of typos in her tests. If you ask a question she will most likely confuse you even more. Most people do okay in her class.
Despite the other reviews, I actually enjoyed her class. If you listen in lectures and do your homework, it's really easy to get an A, especially if you're good at math. Fair grader, but you have to at least know what you're doing. Homework is tough but very, very, doable. Take notes on lectures! Will help you immensely on homework. Take her if you need stats.
She was my first professor at ASU coming into freshman year and let me tell you she did not make my first year go so well. I'm not the best at math, but I'm also not the worst. She has an accent that makes it hard to understand her sometimes. Her handwriting is hard to ready especially if you're not sitting towards the front and she can be mean.
Very nice and while she does have an accent, after the first lecture it should be easy enough to fully underdtsnd what she says. There's also random quizes and random attendance so while you COULD pas the class without, it is probably a good idea to go to lecture. As long as you pay attention in lecture and do the homework it should be fine.
Easy Stats class. Her accent is fine after a couple classes. There are random quizzes but some are take home and most you can work with a partner. I am not horrible at math but her class made it so difficult to understand concepts. She is really funny and overall a great human being but I could not understand her half the time.
Professor Jackiewicz is a pretty good professor. The material wasn't difficult and she taught it pretty well. She gives one homework assignment for each chapter, a quiz pretty much every week, and three tests (including the final, which isn't cumulative). The quizzes and tests are pretty easy because she puts practice questions on her website.
Easy A+ if you're good at math!! As long as you pay attention in lecture and keep up with the online homework, the tests and quizzes are not hard at all. All test and quiz problems are very similar to those presented during lecture. She also likes cracking jokes every once in a while, which is nice since Stats isn't the most interesting class.
Dr. Jackiewicz speaks with a heavy Polish accent, but it isn't too hard to understand. Her lectures have examples that are exactly like what will show up in her tests. Just take the sample tests she has on her website and you'll get an A+, if not over 100%.
--BACKGROUND-- My HS grades: A Calc AB A Precalc B Algebra 2 So I'm already decent at math. If this is you, you can get an easy A. Her quizzes aren't hard to ace. Her lectures are extremely boring. Quizzes every week. Random E.C. opportunities. If you can self study, this material shouldn't be hard. This is a small curve.
Great professor. Don't be intimidated, ask questions and utilize office hours.
Pretty straightfoward if you dont have any issues with math. Pro tip: SHOW UP TO CLASS. She has in-class projects you wont see online. She has an accent, so if that isnt your bag, you might want to consider someone else. But on the other hand, shes helpful and understanding. Tests CAN be tricky, so be sure to study and take the practice tests.

This class honestly isn't hard if you read the book. I never listened to her in her lectures and easily passed. Not easy to understand or very clear when explaining concepts. Classes were not engaging - she just talked at us for fifty minutes. Taught myself the material using the textbook. Tests and quizzes are super easy, she posts practice tests that are similar. She provided helpful resources online but if you aren't good at math then take a diff prof!
Dr. J is what I kindly refer to as a bully professor. While her assignments aren't that bad, she would belittle students openly through emails and Piazza. Didn't have many problems with her personally other than the first week when she threw a fit about extending a deadline for me because Pearson wouldn't give me an accessible textbook (I'm blind).
It is hard to understand her explain the material (has an accent). She reviews the notes that she has and is not engaging. Practice exams are not similar. If you skip class you risk missing a pop quiz. If you have trouble with stats take another professor. She is the worst professor I ever had at ASU.
I personally had a hard time understanding her, her class was very boring. You would look around and everyone was either sitting on their computer or their phones not paying attention. you miss one day of class its 2 points ( that is a lot when u need it for a class like this)
Not done with this class yet but for the love of all things holy on this earth, take another professor. You see the bad stuff said about her in-person lectures? She seems to care even less about her online students. She doesn't accommodate for anything at all. Insensitive as crap, says "Most students did it, figure it out yourself." Sooooo helpful.
Major lack of care for online students. Get ready to teach yourself. Lecture videos are painfully bad. When myself and other students have reached out for help she is very short and treats us like children.
When addressing students, she uses the term "Kids." When paying a lot for schooling, I would prefer to not be called a child. When asking questions she rarely knows how to answer and instead makes you feel inept for not already knowing. 3 tests, 3 practice quizzes, 20 homework assignments. She doesn't teach using calculator. Youtubed everything.
Okay Kids, here's my take on this Professor, she hates teaching, math, and you. There is a bright side however if you already know the subject, you can teach yourself or just enjoy giving away your money for education via youtube, then this is the class for you. Im pretty sure Im speaking for many of the 150+ in the class. Good looking out ASU!
She doesn't do ANYTHING. When you ask her a question, she belittles you and makes you feel stupid. If you don't already have statistics knowledge, please don't take any class with her. You most definitely will be teaching yourself, and I highly doubt she will be willing to answer any of your questions. Avoid her.
Took online, I pretty much had to teach myself through the textbook, youtube and other various recources. This is a hard class. The professor does not seem to care for different learning styles and needs. She has a "thats good enough" mindset when it comes to teaching and will gets defensive if your actions say it isnt. Just find another Prof.
Honestly if you have difficulty with math then this class is not for you, you must understand your scientific calculator, because most of all the homework problems you need your calculator, she extended homework due dates which was nice, also a practice exam comes in handy for the real exam, same material just study that and you'll be fine.
If you are into being called "kids" or "children", you found the perfect match! She didn't send one email to us the whole semester that didn't have some sort of snarky or rude comment in it. If you are asking for flexibility from her, you won't get it. I would have taken anybody else but her if given another chance.

Prof answers questions thoroughly and quickly in the discussion board. She doesn't do any teaching otherwise, so if you struggle learning yourself do not take this course. This course is WAY easier with chegg. The tests are fair, and you are given a cheat sheet. Beware class gets progressively harder. Yes she does call us "kids", get over it.
Got super sick during the semester, went to urgent care, and tested positive for covid. I provided the professor with tons of proof and nicely asked if I could get an extension on a couple upcoming assignments. Her response was so rude and basically said I should have planned in advance. As if I could have predicted that I was gonna get covid.
Took this class online and worst decision ever. Everytime you ask a question she belittles you and loves to call her students "kids". She will make you feel dumb. HW assignment due every 2 days and quiz due every 3 days. She is very obvious about not caring that the whole class doesn't understand something. Take someone else
This professor did not actually teach anything and her course was set up very poorly. I might have scraped a passing grade with a competent teacher, but I was completely lost by week 2 and could not get help. I had to look up stats lectures on youtube.

She is not very kind to her students, she essentially has overdone and doubled down on "providing everything you need" to minimize ever having to contact her; she has provided too many things too look at and expects you to just know where everything is and how everything works. -0/10 Dont take.

She's awful. Addresses you as "kids" as if we're in kindergarten. Her emails are messy and so unprofessional. Her lecture videos cover only the easy concepts. The exams are worth 60% of your grade. Please save yourself the stress, money, and time and take another teacher.

Took this class online and it consisted of three tests with homework assignments and quizzes. You could tell even from being online that this professor had no real desire to help the students and expected us to know everything. The class overall is challenging but an A is possible if you need the credit.
