she talks like a dumb blonde. And if you have a question about the subject she is lecturing, you would be lucky if she comes back with an answer. takes forever to grade tests and homework. one good thing about her is that notes are available online and she makes you write an essay to get some more points on your test if you didnt do as well.

Very hard class, professor moves too quickly and expects you to remember the lectures that she keeps messing up on and moves too quickly through. Choose another professor. I put everything I had into this class and still got a D.

ok I seriously question her nature. she always comes to class late and she docks off points for students being late. she rarely teaches anything and she gave out a seven page study guide for finals before 2 days before the final. i ask her questions and she gets herself confused. I wonder if she knows what she is teaching.

I know its her first year teaching but she does not know the materials and she expects you to know to the very detail in her tests. The book is confusing and her notes doesnt really help. She doesn't reply to emails

Extremely disorganized and wastes class time figuring how to teach concepts and how to use lab equipment when she should already know.

Material is quite difficult and she just cannot teach it properly. She is extremely unorganized and doesn't present anything thoroughly. Study guides aren't relevant for tests. She does not project her voice. Powerpoints have blanks in them. She just really doesn't seem like she wants to be a professor or have any interest in teaching.

AVOID THIS TEACHER! I HAVE NEVER HAD A TEACHER THIS BAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! ALL SHE DOES IS READ HER POWERPOINT SLIDES FAST AND DOESNT EXPALIN ANYTHING. DO NO ASK HER ANY QUESTIONS, SHE WILL MAKE YOU FEEL STUPID. AVOID HER IF YOU WANT TO LEARN AND GET A GOOD GRADE. :)

Mackenzie is not good at teaching.well that's this professor in a nutshell. she gives really hard exams that test you on only two chapters and 1 or 2 questions about the other chps. bad teacher don't take her if you struggle with learning by yourself.

I took this class during summer and I think she over loads you so much by unnecessary work that you don't have the time to study. She doesn't really give extra credit, so I don't know what some people are talking about. DO NOT TAKE HER

she is terrible. we had to study a full chapter every day with a 5 ch test every other week. even though it was online we had a tone of homework and very little time with zero explanation. DO NOT TAKE HER IF UR A BIO MAJOR. it was not an easy class. it was a summer session and she would go on vacation ad not answer emails.

Very bad class. I like the fact that this class is hybrid, half time online and half time in class. Be careful with the quizzes she gives on Blackboard. They are 80% different from the videos link she gives. You want a good grade, study everything in the book. I'm at week 8th now and so stressful with this class!

Don't even waste your time. Her exams are crazy hard. She never lectures and always wants to end class early, cause she is too lazy to teach. The study guides are extremely long and pointless. She will never tell you what you need to study the most. Her grading is horrible too. This class will juts stress you out. Avoid any classes with her.

she should not be a teacher. worst professor ever. I don't know why I or anyone even attempted to stay in her classes. memorize your textbook, and MAYBE you'll pass her exams. Goodluck memorizing 33 pages of studyguides for your final.

NEVER take her. She lost people’s tests. She gave me my score back after the deadline passed when I was able to drop it and supposedly “found” my test when she didn’t. She posted assignments the night before the class and expected it to be due the next day, when she told us the last class time that you would post it ASAP.

Worst class I've ever taken. Her exams are pure memorization and recall but wait... It's all essay questions! She obviously hates teaching bc she's horrible at it. Shows no interest in her students, her personal life is more impt. She posts assignments the night before, lazy and takes a month to grade <20 exams. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!

Consistently 15-30 minutes late on exam days, took forever to grade, never completed test corrections or gave feedback on assignments. Cannot explain clearly and has no time for students. Why is she still employed? I love biology with her, but IB was *miserable* because she was my professor.

she is lazy & always tells students to hurry up she always wants to end class early. The Study guides are useless & extremely long & when u get to the test, the test was made with laziness & are not evenly distributed from the chapters. Split the study guides work with your lab partners & get together to exchange your work, this helped me alot

She doesn't seem to know the material very well, so I'm not sure why she's teaching it. That, or she is incapable of explaining thoroughly, in which case she shouldn't be teaching either. While an approachable person, her quality of lectures is terribly low. Good luck sifting through the study guide and teaching yourself the material.

Worst online class ever taken. She says that there is a test, but she posts it to blackboard late EVERY TIME. Which means you have to do the test in less than 1 day, when you were supposed to have 3 days. Defeats purpose of online class. She never grades any assignmts sub., don't know what grade is. No material taught, just read book. DO NOT TAKE!!

Prepared to never see your grades, takes her a month to do. Locks herself in the classroom until last minute and rushes you to finish early since she "doesn't want to catch traffic". Sit in the front since she practically whispers. She's also always sitting and yawning between lecture. In lab she checks fb so u need to go up to her if u need help.

To do well in this class be prepared to teach yourself. Lectures are not helpful. Study guides are tedious and don't help either. Lab portion of class is generally easy. You probably won't ever know your actual grade until the end. Some extra credit.

This online class is the most unorganized low effort class I have ever taken. It is obvious that the professor either doesn't care about this class or is too lazy to put in some real effort to give the students good quality material to learn. Her slides are mediocre at best and an unorganized mess. The weekly tests all have answers online.

Nice person BUT not a GOOD EDUCATOR. Didn't really teach in our class. Have to learn on your own by reading the book. Always VAGUE when answering questions, make it seems like she doesn't really know what she's talking about. Exams VERY HARD, mostly essay. Graded by 2 Lab and 5 Lec exams (Final- cumulative ALL essay), 2 papers, quizzes once a week.

This is for the hybrid class. Hardest class Ive ever taken so far. Professor doesnt really lecture. You just have to read the book and learn on your own. 5 Very HARD exams. Super Long study guides but not really helpful. I would not take her again EVER. Find someone else, if you can.

Fair grader and gives some EC, but u can tell that she doesnt really care about her students. Just always on her seat in front and let students figure out the lecture and lab on their own. Exams are super hard and makes it seem impossible to get an A, unless you really work HARD. Worst prof Ive ever had at IVC so far bec of her teaching style.

Literally does not have lectures. You'll sit in class playing jeopardy for the chapter you were supposed to read. Her study guides are long and not useful. I asked her a question on her own study guide and she had no idea what i was talking about. This type of style of teaching is very inefficient considering the heavy material

This professor does not care about her students. We transitioned to online course due to Covid and she did not do any zoom meetings for lectures. She replied once a week for emails and expects you to pass an exam in 50 mins all fill in with details. Her study guides are not helpful and she made no effort. By far the worst teacher for microbiology.

Professor MacKenzie is one of the worst professors I've had. She gives very little effort and is unnecessarily harsh for no reason with her grading. Not only are office hours not mandatory, but she rarely goes to them herself. She takes off points on homework for not putting your name at the top, even though it's online, alongside many other things

If youre looking at this teacher to take for micro, DONT. the worse professor many of her current students have ever had. We get docked points for things not required or in directions. She never responds to anyones questions when texted/emailed. She post her pre recorded lectures late after homework is due or forgets to post at all. DONT TAKE!

Do well on the homework and lab and you'll be ok.

Professor Mackenzie doesn't grade until the last minute and never responded to any of my emails. She assigns an overwhelming amount of homework, most of which is not helpful. NEVER take her class. You're better off with a different professor.

One of the worst professors out there. Micro can be super interesting but this professor pretty much killed it for everyone with her apathy, irresponsible behavior, and lack of structure. Was late to lab almost every single day; lectures were impossible to listen to over her chewing, laughing, yawning, someone snoring in the background. terrible.

Most labs are busywork & she takes off points for random things. Class is doable but she removed the course without posting the final projects/exam grades and ignored my emails for weeks. Literally had to contact the dean for her to respond so she obviously doesn't care about students. Deserves all of her negative reviews & I hope she sees this.

Very unorganized and doesn't follow the schedule she has given us. Grades extremely hard on homework which is something that I've never experienced. Tests are difficult because it doesn't relate to the study guide she provided to us. She is very monotonous at teaching and seems like she wants to leave the class just as much as her students.

I should have heeded the warnings about her. She is a very poor professor who seems to be mentally checked out. It was very apparent she did not care. She shows up late, experiments are never set up, she is disorganized and you must call her out on when she mixes up due dates, syllabus dates etc. No lectures, she uses old covid videos, harsh grader

She is quite literally the worst professor I have ever had. She does not respond to emails at all she makes you text her personal phone number and doesn't even respond there. You will use the lab book BARELY because she will waste 30 mins of class printing a different lab. GOD FORBID you get sick though she will not cooperate at all with you.

For one, there were 4 labster simulations worth 100 points, while all the others were worth 10, making it unbalanced. Additionally, all the test questions were directly copy pasted from online websites. I even found one (about the geneticist Alec Jeffreys) where the incorrect answer choice (said Alex Jeffries, and hockey player) was copied.

Very disorganized. Assignments will be started but never finished, due dates will frequently be changed. Also, she has never responded to a single email or text; she is almost impossible to reach outside of class.
