Prof Topal is awesome. You can tell she's got passion for BIO and goes over everything for the practical. 4 lab practicals, you HAVE to STUDY for it. Put in the effort (making PP with pictures I found to be effective) and you'll breeze by. Take a little time each day to study the position of body parts and they will stick. She's nice, take her!

Dr. Topal is very caring, she helped me tons. You can tell she really cares for her students! If you come to class everyday and study the areas she particularly emphasize, you will be fine. But it still is a hard class so study everyday.

I love her so much. She is the sweetest lady and really seems to care about her students. She always has a funny joke to tell and make class fun. It is a super hard class but you just have to study really hard for it. Would highly recommend this professor.

Had her for Lab in BIO201 and she was very clear for the practicals. Let you know what to expect for the practicals, was accessible out of class. Was very helpful with students, on topics that weren't understanding to the class. A solid lab professor. Practicals were sorta of hard, but if you study you will do fine.

I took her bio 201 class last year! In terms of class: I actually retained information from this class. I love the way she cares about her student and the ways she teaches the class. First lab practical was so hard. Then it got easier. In terms of personality: she is very caring, very patient and she will do anything to help.

I took Bio 201 previously with some other professor and I had to quit 3 weeks into it. You will never know how awesome Dr. Topal is if you havnt taken this class with someone else! Dr. Topal explains the complicated subjects really well. I would say her strength is in more molecular stuff. Overall she is AWESOME!

Very great teacher. Knows her stuff. She obviously expects you to do well and know he material but she is really willing to help and is very approachable. pretty simple class. listen to lecture, take a quiz here and there, take an exam. pretty straight forward.

The class in general is pretty tough because there is so much information given in such a little amount of time. Medicine and culture class is an easy reading class. Read the related chapters and answer the questions online! information was interesting, I bought both of the books. Recommended book was a lot more interesting than the required book. Dr. Topal is very interesting person, well in a good way!

Dr. Topal is the best anatomy teacher I have ever had, or even heard of. Every lab was explained in clear detail, and all of her powerpoints are posted online. She provides study guides, and as long as you can answer every question on those, you should pass just fine. She is also extremely nice and easily contacted by email if you have a question.

Dr. Topal is such a sweet lady! This course was an online special topics about the effects of medicine/disease on cultures throughout the ages. She made it as easy and stress-free as possible. Minimal short discussion posts about the readings, a "midterm" that was watching a movie and asking a question to classmates about it, and a 5 pg final paper

This was such a hard class!!! Topal is incredibly caring and sweet, and she will add on hours to her day if you really need the help to teach you something. I am out of words to describe Dr. Topal! all I can tell is that I got into medical school because of her help! She helped me from application stage to mock interview! I will never forget her help, her kindness, loving scoldings and excellent reference letter!

The best part is the class right before an exam she will take the exam and tell us exactly what we need to know on it, sometimes even specific questions. If you go to class each week and mark what she says is important you will do fine on the exams. Online homework absolutely sucks tho, and she doesn't always announce when its assigned.

She was a great professor. Her class (along with lab) gave us multiple extra credit opportunities to boost our grade. I didn't really like the online homework though (which also required extra fees). She gave us study guides, and I could tell she truly cared for her students. Will be taking her next semester.

She is very knowledgebale on MCAT prep and medical schools in general. She has become my to go person anytime I have a question. she has been SUPER nice and patient with me!

Dr. Topal is very friendly and knowledgeable and I love her! She is VERY CARING! I took all of her classes. In terms of lecture, she tends to go into too much details but at the end she always summarize the content and tells you what to focus on! I would take her in a heartbeat if she was offering more science classes.

Overall, there are occasional homework assignments, short online/in-class quizzes, and 4 exams (no final). Easy as long as you put the work in. I would recommend her.

Here is the TEA! Professor Topal is a very kind and sweet person who genuinely cares for her students, she will do her best to help you succeed. However as a Professor/Lecturer, she is very unorganized and her lectures are super boring (She reads off of the slides) & she posts study guides way TOO close to the exams. Dr. Topal is really caring. The class is really easy. All of the test answers are from the PowerPoint. Just read the PowerPoint a couple of times before the test. One thing that I don't like about this class is that she is a slow grader. You get your grades last minute.

Although her course is lecture heavy, she goes above and beyond by telling you exactly what you need to know. The textbook is not needed, there is no homework and there are 4 exams (including final). She truly cares about her students, TAKE HER!!

ABS 490 is more inconvenient than anything, but Dr. Topal does her best with what she has. Always available, and seems to really care for her students.

Just do the readings and answer the questions. 2 papers were easy to do, (I did the bare minimum) and still got an A. Easy A, just put in the time to do it, but it's really easy. Trust me, she even mentioned this class is meant to be an easy A / fun. Take her.

Dr. Topal's class was my one class where I could just enjoy the material and not stress about tests or quizzes. None of the material was that hard to understand, and she is very generous on grading.

She's an amazing professor who genuinely cares about her students. It does take a lot of work to get an A in the class but if you actually put in effort, you should get at least a B. She can take a while to grade some assignments and can be slightly unorganized but if you have her as an option, take her and you wont regret it. There is extra credit

Took her Bio 201 course in the spring semester and am taking summer 202. Honestly my favorite. Understanding & smart. The study guides guarantee at least a 90% on exams. Love how labs are set up. All materials for practicals provided. A lot of info in this class, but it was pretty flexible. Only prof Ive had worth writing review!

During summer she was always worried about making the students too stressed with the material and would push back exams if we felt like we werent ready. Shes so kind and helpful. Topal was struggling to use canvas which created lots of miscommunication. However , the assignments were easy. You have to make sure you check the canvas calendar to see whats due because of the miscommunication. Easy class overall. Just do the work.

She was very flexible. She made sure we understand the material before we take tests. For lab she had videos on canvas that help with practicals. She offered some extra credit as well.

Topal is amazing and is worth the commute if your coming from a different campus. She post videos for lectures and practical which is very helpful. She ensures her students are comfortable/ ready to take exams and is very flexible & understanding. She goes over content well and thoroughly. Exams are easy of you study!

Professor Topal is my favorite teacher at ASU so far! She really cares about the students and is flexible for quizzes and exams. Lectures are not mandatory, but there's sometimes extra credit if you go. There's a review right before the tests and she gives you a study guide so if you study the exams are not difficult. I'd definitely take her again!

Overall good professor. I took ABS 394 online and it was all discussion board post and journals with one final paper at the end. The discussion boards do not have a word count and you dont have to respond to others, which was super nice.

I took Dr. Topal's class last semester and shes my favorite professor I've taken at ASU. She delays exam dates if students need extra time to study and is extremely understanding in general. On the last lab practical since we were running out of time to study she allowed everyone to use their notes on it. Her study guides guarantee As on exams too.

Best Biology Professor in my 3 years at ASU. Made Anatomy and Physiology so easy!! I was very scared to fail the class at the beginning because it's so much content but Professor Topal makes the class engaging and her labs are very interesting. I would say it's an easy pass class if you do all your homework and pay attention!

Professor Topal is sweet, caring, passionate about what she teaches, and overall makes the class doable even with the amount of content covered. She offers extra cred. and postpones exams when students need it. Most of my friends took BIO201 downtown and it was about 50x harder. If you're choosing between downtown professors and topal, pick TOPAL.

I'm not kidding when I say this is the easiest pre-med class I have taken. Dr. Topal is a very flexible teacher and provides multiple video resources for lab. Lectures also have extra credit points for attendance. She is very kind and is willing to push back test dates for students. Glad I had the opportunity to take such a difficult class with her

Really great professor who knows her stuff. Enjoyed A&P with her, and right now really regretting not taking 202 with her over the summer, because I decided to go cheap and take 202 with a budget professor who had cheap quality teachings (Pam Harrison). If I could right now, I would probably take out a loan just to take her 202 over the summer.

Prof Topal is by far the best professor at ASU! Great teacher, gives a great study guide to help with test and its actually accurate. She is really nice and helpful and makes sure you understand everything. Tests are online, but I would recommend studying and reviewing the study guide. Do all EC assignments, it pays off.

Topal is a great person and knows her stuff and cares about her students a lot. Her lectures are pretty bland and she takes a while to upload grades. This class is an easy A, she does McGraw Hill homework and some in class activities with simple questions like "how was your day" as attendance extra credit every once in a while. This class is chill.

She is the kindest. I do think its a little hard to pay attention in class when I always feel I can just read the slides later. She does offer occasional extra credit when you attend. I will say I hate the homework its time consuming busy work.

Dr. Topal is a very caring and easy-going professor. Her lectures can be boring, but the content is manageable if you study it. Exams are pretty much what is in the study guide, and practicals are straightforward. The only complaint I have is that she never replies to emails, so address your questions and concerns in person.

Professor Topal class was easy for a BIO 201 class. However, she is a bit disorganized. The McGraw hill is completely unrelated to the exam besides the quizzes on it. It is busy work, but use the quiz questions to practice. Exams are similar to the study guide, and if you do them you're guaranteed to at least score a B. Overall, would take again.

Had this professor for BIO 202 Lab, and she was incredible! She can be a little disorganized at times and grades at the last minute, but her labs are interesting. She deeply cares about her students and is a lenient grader. This was my second time having her, and I wish I could take her classes again.

Professor Topal is an amazing professor. She cares so much about her students and always clarifies and helps you understand all the material. We had lab practicals on every module but she gives very helpful reviews to study and they weren't impossible. If you take any Professor for BIO take her! Anatomy's very memorization heavy but she will help

Professor Topal is an angel, the lab portion was relatively engaging and easy to study for, most people preformed extremely well on the practicals. The lecture portion is definitely the hardest, the lectures aren't super engaging or organized but if you study really hard before exams you'll do okay. Topal is very kind and is willing to help.

AMAZING professor, I only received a less than stellar grade entirely of my own accord. The class itself is pretty hard, but she does everything in her power to make it easier and more accommodating. DEFINITELY study a lot and often. She was amazing in both lab and lecture, just make sure to go to class/pay attention. She is an absolute angel

Genuinely the kindest, most genuine professor of all the science courses I have taken. She never asked a single question when I asked if I could take an exam early or later because I had a coinciding exam the day after that needed priority. She understands pre-meds and pre-dents (pre-healths) have it hard enough already. Take her!
