Honestly she is a great teacher and cares about her students. Yes, you will have a lot of homework, but if you get up to a certain percentage(usually 80/90%) you get 100% credit for the assignment. TA's are very helpful and available, and yes she preachers civility and professionalism but that should not be a bad thing. This class is useful!! 10/10
Dr. Fegevi made the material really clear. We have grader projects and workshops every week but she provided enough materials and guidelines for you to pass and make an A. She also gives a lot of reviews for Exams which makes it easy to do good on! There's a group project at the end of the semester so be aware of who to choose. She does clickers!
She was an amazing professor and I would love if you taught another class. She clearly tells you at the beginning of the semester what is expected from you, and the class itself is very easy. Attendance may not have been mandatory, but there are clickers. The class consists of clickers, workshops (online), test, and a project. Easy A, if you listen
The only one who teaches this course, but I don't see why all the bad reviews. You have to work for your grade, the hw is very doable and she has videos on how to to the excel step by step. She has an in class review before the tests which are the most helpful. She gives you all the material needed, no excuses. Group project sucked bc of the people
Professor Felvegi is very nice and has a very straight forward agenda. Clickers for attendance, HW every week which she guides you through them, 3 exams all at CASA. She gives you good reviews which are very close to the exam. She is very strict when it comes to civility. There is a group project. Lots of extra credit make sure you do them all.
Dr. Felvegi is a caring and easy going professor, do your job as a student and you'll make an A no problem.
Clear grading criteria, but most things you need to learn on your own outside of class. All of the homework has a video walk through, but those tend to ramble a lot more than they should. Dr. Felvegi is relatively cool over all, but the lectures are some of the most painful I have experienced. A lot of the class time is used for irrelevant speakers
You can't slack in this class and expect to pass. The extra credit is either worth .25, .5, or 1. I used the textbooks for the online assignments and it was very helpful. She is funny at times. There are clickers so go to class! You won't have class on exam day. There are 4 exams. Do well on exams, do the online assignments, and group project.
She is a very good professor. She expects everyone to act professional in class, but is very easy going. If you have questions you can always go see her in her office. She is willing to answer question. Make sure you do the homework assignments, and show up for class. (Clickers) Exams are not hard. Just make sure you review the material.
Intro to MIS was a fairly easy class. Clear grading criteria, but just be careful when doing the homework as simple mistakes can ruin the homework grades. Tests were fairly easy and attendance is required. While she preaches about civility, you will realize when it all comes together for the group project,
I thought this class was fairly easy. Going to class is mandatory. I just read and reviewed her slides, never read the textbook. She is a super nice teacher and I thought she explained things well but then again the class was pretty simple and straightforward.
Super boring and pointless lectures. Takes up phones in class and will fail you if she sees you on your phone at all. Will also fail you if you use a laptop to work on Excel spreadsheets even though its an Excel class. 1/10 would not recommend
part of being successful in business requires having a sense of civility, you will be heavily exposed to this concept in Dr Felvegi's Class. She is an absolute delight. Make an effort and you will get a good grade, she will work with you if you are having trouble, i have seen her interact with other student, most students don't need he
Its easy to make an A in this class if you actually study (The class doesnt cover much material). Three exams that are based off her Cengage reviews and LOTS of her clicker questions. Attendance isnt mandatory but her clickers are extra credit points. She's pretty sweet and straightforward and always replies to emails fast. Take her for MIS
She is awesome! Any negative reviews given are probably the people in the back that still have a high school mentality. One of my favorite professor's by far! She is sooo patient. Many times, she would give students direction and get disrespected and ignored and she never lost her temper. If it were up to me I'd fail around 200 of my peers.
I would recommend Dr. Felvegi. She is a great professor. Very caring, funny, and sweet lady. But damn this class is rough if you aren't interested in computers (at least it was for me) Just pay attention in class and do the Cengage assignments and you should be fine.
I was really nervous for this class because she always emphasized PC over Mac, but I have a mac and did not have a single issue! Teaching wise, she is amazing!! Go to the lectures and especially the review session on the day before the exam, she goes over test questions.
Professor Felvegi is genuinely a good person by advocating civility and professionalism in the class, but she cant really teach either. It is mandatory to go to class because those 3 extra bonus points are crucial. Testing wise it is different every time, you think you may know the answer, but its usually not the correct one. Read the textbook!
To be very down to earth, Dr. Felvegi is a great professor. She will help you in any way and will be very welcoming in her office hours. Her class is very much of a learning experience and you will enjoy it once you start interacting with her. Dr. Felvegi is a very humble person and she cares for her students. She provides extra credit too!!!
pay attention to her clickers and guest speakers. a lot of them are on her tests. her tests are alright. she said her last test was the easiest but it really wasnt. go to her optional reviews they are very helpful. she doesnt give big curves. landed with an 89 in her class, super upset, projects are easyy, only 3 bonuses allowed
Prof is pretty chill but when it comes to grades, she doesn't extend deadlines. Lectures could be boring and she's pretty strict about cellphones. I almost got a B but last minute she added in some extra credit (only 3 points). She doesn't bump which is annoying. Her tests seem easy but can trick you. Her practice tests help a lot on the test!
She truly cares about the students and the course. She'll ALWAYS help. She wants each of her students to become better people by advocating professionalism & civility. When it comes to the course, there are 3 tests that increase in difficulty. Show up to the lectures for extra credit and cause she explains well. I never opened the textbook.
Loved the class even though I am a biochemistry major. She will continually emphasize civility and professionalism and encourages students to hold those values. She cares for her students and will always tell you what to do. Make sure you do ALL the required homeworks/assignments and practice if u can w/ the optional ones. DO THE PRACTICE TESTS.
Lectures are boring but attendance counts. Use of clicker. Homeworks are easy and quizzes too. tests are kind of hard but if if you study you should be fine
As long as you participate in clicker questions and complete the Cengage assignments, you should make a good grade. A couple of extra credit opportunities, but they must be completed shortly after she assigns them, not right before the end of the semester. Witty professor.
Nice lady, but honestly her tests almost got me a B in her class. Those who take the test on the first day of the test being out are at a major disadvantage in comparison to those who take it on the last day. Answers get leaked. She gives out 80% of test material. The class is literally memorizing answers. You have no choice but to take her. GLHF.
Overall, her lectures can sometimes get a little boring, but if you force your way through them, she goes through many example problems that you will later see on tests. She gives out Cengage reviews for test, DO THEM. 90% of test material come from them except the final where many students did not do so well. All about civility. Overall not bad.
Her lectures are mostly boring. Attendance is a must because of clickers. Exams are mostly based on memorization of the material.
The tests are straight off of her powerpoints, clicker questions, and SAM quizzes so if you study those you should do well. The 2 projects were easy. Complete the Cengage assignments if you want a good grade. Attendance is extra credit (she provides plenty of other extra credit opportunities as well). Entertaining professor.
Good professor. She's one of the sweetest professors at UH but sometimes tries to trick you on tests. Assignments don't take too much time. Make sure you do the test reviews! Clickers are 3 bonus points for your final grade, so I recommend going to class. I would take her class again.
Emese Felvegi definitely receives a lot of flak, but she simply comes across as a very passionate and caring teacher who wants to share her knowledge. She's very strict when it comes to etiquette. You will be successful if you are civilized and just pay attention and respect her.
Dr. Felvegi is one of those professors students dislike straight off the bat because she appears to be tough; however, she is great, and wants her students to succeed. This course is relatively easy if you show up you are more likely to get an A (even on optional days). You will learn a lot if you want to, definitely helpful for the long run.
Amazing teacher, really well rounded although can be boring in lectures although she really cares for the success of the student. Quite a few homeworks but its mostly completion and if you moderately study for the exams (6/10 effort), you'll get an A. Lots of chances for extra credit. Doesnt use +/- system so take that as you will.
Good amount of extra credit. She is very caring and wants you to learn, and honestly, I am glad I took the class because she truly made me knowledgeable about using those computing systems. The skills you learn in this class will be applicable to whatever field you are in, so even if Business is not your major, do yourself a favor & take this class
Prof. Felvegi is amazing. She may gives a lot of quizzes but it only accounts for 0.5 each so if you miss some, dont be so worried. She also provide several extra credit chances so that you can make up some points. Show up 80% of class and you will get 3 extra points for clickers. 70% for 2 points. Exams are easy if you do the exam training on sam.
Great professor, with a respectful approach to teaching, she constantly corrects and chastises for the sake of creating an environment conductive to learning. The assignments are doable and exams are easy if you keep up. She has such a great attitude you only need to make sure you meet with an equally respectful and attentive attitude.
Great teacher, Learned alot in her class. Exams weren't too bad, she gives you a review that is guaranteed a 75%. However she rewords it alil bit but you mostly have to remember the facts or correct answers in the review. Class was abit annoying because she wants to be very strict no cellphone or laptop use. Kinda weird cus it was a computer class.
You can't take notes on your laptop, only pen & paper. Her minion TAs run around and tell you to close your electronics if you're on them. weekly SAM trainings that take 30mins-1hour and 3 projects over the semester. 2 tests and a final that count for 75% total. Most whack grading scale i've seen (90+ A, 89 B+, 80-88 B, 79 C+, etc.).
She's a kind-hearted, quirky soul who loves what she teaches. This course is not hard. SAM (online) trainings teach you step by step. 3 tests, no final. 3 projects which are not too hard. Plenty of extra credit opportunities. Studying lecture notes and online trainings will basically guarantee you a passing grade. She's great!
Had to buy the SAM access code, but I didn't buy the book code. What the person below me said, 3 projects (easy, 1 hour), SAM/BB assignments. Class clickers give you +3 points to overall grade. Just do the exam reviews on SAM before each test and you should make an easy A. She's pretty laid back and easy going, just don't use your phone in class.
I was afraid of this class after reading some of the reviews and because of the content, but she is great and I would take her again. She makes the effort and cares that her students learn. Sit towards the front of the class and she will get to know you. Do the assignments and study and you will be fine.
She is a good professor, but can be very unprofessional. The TAs are absolutely horrible. There is one older guy who is a TA, he is seriously rude and disgusting. They do not care to explain anything. This class was a joke. The TAs are a joke. I wish there would have been other professors for this course.
I put this class off until the very end because of all the reviews. This class is not hard as long as you take the time to complete the assignments and study for the Exams (its not an easy A). Dont miss class! Its a lot of information to learn and you dont want to fall behind. Shes a great teacher and genuinely cares about her students!
Its probably best to take this class in the full semester. Not an easy A class. She emphasizes how she's here for you she's lying. Had 89 in the class didn't even curve. She also mentioned how the last exam tends to be easier, again she lied. Her reviews will land you a 75 if you don't study deeper. Doesn't know how to teach.
I do not like her teaching method. She briefly goes over the information in class and expects her students to understand the material right then and there. The only clear thing she gives you are her reviews which is a minor help for the exams. A lot of homework so get ready to sit at a computer for a good two hours with the amount of modules.
This teacher does not know how to lecture.. kind of condescending and treats students like they're kindergarteners like they aren't adults. (no phone policy) Also the TAs are really dumb/annoying and basically ignore you when you go to tutoring. I do NOT like the way she teaches, she acts like we're all expert MIS majors which is ridiculous
-Talks more about personal life/not MIS related than what she should -No technology allowed at all -Lectures are unnecessary and miserable
The class is very useful in helping business majors throughout their careers, but her lectures are just extremely unexciting, to the point where half of the class either doesn't show, or leaves 5 minutes in. She is the only MIS teacher, so good luck to everyone else. Oh and FYI the TA's are EXTRAAAAAAAAAA....
Her lectures are very hard to keep up with and she also has terrible handwriting which makes it hard to understand what she is talking about... Despite this being a class about computers she will not allow any computers in class which is just plain dumb... Not an easy A at all because its more self-taught in my opinion.
She is more fit to be a high school teacher rather than a college professor. Claims that phones and laptops are too "distracting" but does not realize that her calling out students in the middle of a lecture for using their devices is even more distracting ... she isn't funny but all the kiss-ups in the front section hype her up way too much
Her style of teaching is genuinely hard to follow. Her blackboard is a maze and clickers/test review seem like she wants us to do poorly on the test.
She isn't helping you out as much. She would give you a lot of stuff to practice and look over, but it is nothing relevant to the exam. She is very petty when it comes to things that doesn't go her way and reflects it amongst the students.
I took her last year & the reviews she gave for the tests helped a ton, but apparently students don't have those anymore which probably makes studying a lot more difficult. Truly kind lady who wants the best for her students. Beware mac users, lots of snarky comments to the point where I felt uncomfortable raising my hand when she asked who had one
Shes okay. Easy class. Lectures are pointless.. the reason half the class shows up. She doesnt allow laptops or phones which is weird. MIS is very important to know so be ready to learn.
DO ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT SHE GIVES YOU. Well... She is the only teacher available for MIS3300. She is nice person, but she taught me nothing. The tutors taught me more than she ever did.
Do all the extra credit she gives! Every point matters. She is not a good prof, her lectures are basically her rambling about whatever she wants. Computers are not allowed, annoying because we are trying to learn about computers and MIS. Unfortunately, shes the only prof for MIS. The projects are pretty simple, and the tutors are helpful with them.
Felvegi was a good professor. She tries to liven the mood when she can, but I will say that the no technology rule is quite a difficult barrier to overcome. Lectures are mostly you watching her do things on Excel or other Office applications, and taking notes by hand. Online hw is heavy & tests are difficult if you dont study. Im expecting a B
Her lectures are so pointless. Its hard to see what she's doing on the board and can't even follow along on your computer cus of no technology allowed policy. Her blackboard page is a mess and she give unnecessary stuff to study for the exam. the last exam she added so much material to the review that you don't even know where to start.
The most important things you will learn are VLookup and PivotTables and they are crucial and valuable skill for most people as they pertain to excel. Just know that how ever you must do so you will only get out of the class what you put in and you can get alot of useful information from this class so don't miss out. Do the work and get a good grad
I wouldn't be taking time out of my day to write this but she is such a ridiculously bad professor. On her exams she makes sure people dont get 100 by adding ridiculous questions that were never touched on or not part of the material. She creates test reviews with wrong answers and toward the end of the semester she doesn't even post the answer key
She is very rude and snappy for no reason. I was always respectful, went to class, got high grades, but every times I asked her questions she was rude, and would reply rudely to emails. She once accused me cheating and after she found out I hadn't she couldn't even apologize. I never felt comfortable with her. Easy class though.
Her lectures are weak, she spends a lot of time on unnecessary information Her exams require MUCH deeper review of material if you want good marks, it is not enough to be familiar with excel, you need to know specific excel terminology. She replies quickly to emails and accepts office walk ins I Went to class a grand total of 4 times and got a B.
Just make sure that you do all of the online homework modules and practices, because you will essentially be teaching yourself the material. Her lectures are not great and contain a lot of filler information that seems more her self interest than practical material. She seems like her heart is in the right place but her lectures just don't cut it.
She's the only professor for this course, so you have no choice. She gives you everything you need to learn and do well on the tests, but her lectures are useless. It's all basically self taught. The course isn't hard at all if you do the work though. Just familiarize yourself with the syllabus and how to do the homework and you should be fine.
Often times she has lectures that have absolutely nothing to do with the exams or homework. There is a decent amount of weekly homework but it can be done quickly. Attendance is not mandatory since there are over 400 kids in the class. Make sure to do the homework and read the textbook and you will do fine on exams.
I felt as if some of her lectures didnt have anything to do with course material. Her in class reviews were very helpful for tests and going to the tutoring lab helped for projects. She does not like it when people use electronics. Attendance is not mandatory, but going to class can be beneficial sometimes. Lots of homeworks but its managable.
Great professor who cares about she is teaching. There are plenty of opportunities for extra credit. I did not stress at all for this class and learned a lot. Overall she was great, take her class!
She's the only professor for this course so you can't help it, she's rude and literally doesn't care about her students, she makes this mis3300 classs so hard even though its one of the easiest of all. Do not expect any curve even if you're on 69 and probably making a D+ in a stupid class. And one more thing we are not suppose to use laptop in clas
Professor Felvegi was way more strict than my other professors and it was very unnecessary. I never went to class and still ended the class with an A. Just her attitude bothered me and she didnt explain anything very well; rather just made you feel dumb. You cant use phones in class at all or laptops which is weird cause its a computer class.
She is a funny person, kinda dorky but. She covers the most important classes in class but its hard to understand because she does not allow computers so we just have to watch her and take notes on paper. Overall though the class is boring and you can get away with skipping, especially towards the end of the semester.
She's the only teacher that teaches this class. Her tests are kind of annoying because a lot of her questions are trick questions. Going to her lectures are pointless because she doesn't lecture about exam material. The good thing is she offers 3 points extra to your overall grade. HW mind tap assignments are frustrating and mess up all the time.
Dr. Felvegi's class was easy to follow! She gives great examples and really helps solidify your knowledge on the basics, so you actually know what you're doing when you're looking at an excel sheet. She is funny and relatable! Excel is very intimidating, but she made it easy to understand!
Definitely pay attention in class or you will get behind and be confused on further material. Gives up to 4 extra credit pts but each assignment towards it is like .25 to 1 pts each. Tests are okay, don't take them unprepared. Prof cares to give outside help with ta's as well. Not too difficult but overall a nice class
3 Exams; 2 Major Projects. Exam 3 is the easiest. Nice professor but her method of teaching isn't suitable for the class sizes that there are. Homeworks are easy-ish and extra credit is given throughout the semester. Overall her last lecture is the best out of all.
I rarely showed up to class and got an A in the class. I do not say this to say you should never go to class because she did share some good information, but most of the lecture could be accessed online outside of class. There is A LOT of homework and it is a significant chunk of your grade. Tests are mostly application based. She truly cares!
Definitely, recommend for MIS. Dr. Felvegi is a really good excel teacher. if you do struggle though, I highly recommend getting help from the TA's and going to her office hours. This class can be challenging for those who are completely inexperienced with Excel
I have never had such an incompetent professor. Going to class is not necessary. You simply don't learn anything. The entire time I was in her class I felt like I was wasting my time. You might as well take this class online because YOU WILL HAVE TO TEACH YOURSELF EVEYTHING! I don't recommend taking her if you're new to excel. JUST HORRIBLE PROF!
She makes the class way more difficult than it needs to be and doesn't explain anything. Her test include useless questions that are not related to the class. It feels like she doesn't want you to pass. This is the worst professor I've ever had PERIODT!
Great Professor. 3 tests and 2 optional projects. Gives 3 extra credit points.
While Professor Felvegi does teach the subject decently and has good reviews she goes off on a tangent a bit too much in class. Sometimes a good chunk of class is wasted on irrelevant topics. Attended 1st half of semester and didn't attend 2nd half. Still got the same grades. Do the reviews habitually and you'll get a high B or A
made an A but didnt like this class. 1st exam has questions over ted talks and guest speakers so show up until the first exam you dont need to show for lectures after. Everything you need is on blackboard. Practice kahoots and quizzes ul make an A or B. Do all the extra credit because she will not bump you. exam 1 is hardest exam 3 is the easiest
This INTRODUCTORY MIS class was a whole lot of stress for NO reason. Luckily, I knew excel well enough, so I did well. However, some of her exam questions are completely senseless when it comes to guest speakers and whatnot, so make sure you pay attention! EXTRA CREDIT WILL SAVE YOU. Just do it--it's an easy 3 points to your final grade.
The class is very easy to earn you extra credit. Max you can get is 3 points and those help a lot. Just do her quizzes those are extra credit and those questions are on the test. Most of the test is based on her quizzes & kahoots the other is excel or college scorecard. Find quizlet for excel questions you will be fine. Know your college scorecard
Goes off topic a lot and barely touches on the important material during her lectures. Does not allow her students to have their laptops out even though a large part of the material is computer-related. Her exams have a lot of trick questions about things that have nothing to do with the subject. She makes this class harder than it needs to be.
Most people skip because she gives online recording of the lectures on blackboard. There is a lot of information that isnt needed for the test that she puts online. Just study the kahoots and quizzes cause theyre nearly identical to the test. DO THE COLLEGE SCORECARD SO YOU WILL KNOW HOW TO DO TEST 2 SINCE ITS ON EXCEL. Please do the extra credit.
3 exams: exam 2 is the toughest, exam 3 is painless, all taken at CASA. She helps with the exam preparation with kahoot questions and example exam questions in pdf.
Super easy A - you don't even need to show up. I learned a lot by accessing what she put online. Exams are taken at CASA and there is homework online that counts. I couldn't stand going to her lectures, but I got an A without attending. You just have to look at the reviews/kahoots and brush up on your excel skills. Pay attention to key words/names.
you have to teach yourself to get an A in this class. There's around 7-8 homework's due before each test. Second test is the hardest and third test is the easiest.
The best professor at Bauer!! Very well organized and understanding when it comes to understanding that students have other classes to worry about. Make sure to go to class for kahoot points, and also make sure to do ALL the extra credit she provides!!
Professor Felvegi was great for MIS3300. Always show up to class and do the homework and you will get an A. Homeworks and projects were well explained and herself and tutors are always ready to help. Lectures would sometimes drag and she is very strict on phones. Best memory is when she kicked a student out for leaving to get starbucks during lec
If you don't show up to class you wont pass. Honestly if you just show up and pay attention it is pretty easy. She now allows you to use laptops so if you follow along you are fine. Read the textbook before class and you shouldn't have any difficulty. Lots of extra credit and only hmk is weekly quizzes. Exams are like quizlets and kahoots.
I truly believe she is the BEST professor at UH. She is very caring and helps students out. I would 100% recommend her. One of the only classes i have taken where the professor actually cares about her students. Plus you'll be learning excel so it is a very useful class.
Super awesome! She really cares about your success in college and beyond. Definitely not a blow off class so be sure to study well.
she offers many opportunities to help outside of class - I'm assuming if you help her out (in tutoring lab) that she'll be likely to write a letter of rec. I had an opportunity to work on a project that I can put on my resume. Reading isn't required but you won't do so hot on the first test if you don't read. attendance is mandatory.
She gives a lot of extra credit chances throughout the semester. First and last exams are just like the review and the second exam is the hardest. Her lectures can get a bit boring, but you can tell she really cares about her students and is passionate about teaching.
Professor Felvegi was by far one of the best professors I have ever had! She's passionate about what she's teaching, and she actually cares about her students! If you want an easy A for MIS, take Felvegi! All her exams are very similar to the practice exams and her kahoots so if you study those you'll do great!
I Took her hybrid class. the class is pretty simple. Keep up with her quizzes, kahoots and assignments and you will be fine. Tests are not too hard either. 15 quizzes (quite easy), 2 projects, 3 exams and class participation (attendance/kahoot). 2nd exam is the hardest, 1st and 3rd are pretty easy.
Honestly read the textbook and show up prepared to class. Follow along with everything she says and work alongside her as she shows examples. Weekly quizzes which are super easy and 2 projects which take like 10 min each. Test are exactly like kahoots and quizlets and basic concepts, all multiple choice. super sweet professor just show up and work
Felvegi is a great professor. She tries to teach to the best she can and her class is honestly fun. The material she teaches is relatively easy with some challenging excel stuff at some points. no matter what, DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. It's a life saver and super easy. Second test is the hardest, 1st and 3rd are relatively easy/common sense.
Dont know why she has bad ratings. She is really sweet/ approachable and was very clear on what was going to be on the exams.
Honestly not a bad professor. She does her best to accomodate to each individual students' needs. She gives a lot of extra credit. Just put the work in and the class is an easy A. She does use kahoot a lot though.
She is an amazing professor and extremely knowledgeable. Everything you learn in this class is so useful in real life so you should def attend class and pay attention because it will help you, and you'll easily get an A. It can get stressful to keep up on a Mac since Excel is so different on there, and def sit in the front if you want to do well.
Such an amazing person and Professor. It may not always be super exciting content, but her sweet personality makes the class enjoyable. She cares a lot about her students and I am so glad I had her for my first semester at UH.
Tbh this class is not that exciting so lectures can get a little boring but she does her best to make them fun and engaging. You will have Kahoots that will count for attendance grades so beware! Have lots of quizzes and some group projects. Overall pretty cool class, def take it with her if possible.
Takes attendance through kahoot, overall easy class whwre you learn more indepth about excel. Tecaher was nice and very fast replier. The texbok was free.
The class was easy but that's the only reason why I did good in it. She's not a good professor. She will answer your questions very condescendingly and makes you feel stupid. Even the way she explains things you will not understand unless you learn by yourself.
I have never had a professor make me feel more stupid for asking questions, she is also the only professor to make class harder with this whole pandemic going on.
Horrible professor never answers emails and fails to explain assignments properly.
Does not know how to properly explain ANYTHING, she is also very unorganized
Professor Felvegi does not know how to explain anything. She makes the class which is pretty easy unnecessarily hard and confusing. Her instructions on how to complete an assignment are basically nonexistent and she likes to drag things out for an unnecessarily long period of time.
Be on time! She does participation points at the beginning and very end of every class! Will kick students out who try to sneak in at the end for their points. 3 tests and 2 projects for the semester. Projects were pretty vague in their instruction on what to actually do which was annoying.
Terrible at explaining instructions. I feel as if she milks her lectures and tries to make them more complicated than it's supposed to be. She's a nice person but kind of an annoying professor.
Imagine there being a pandemic going on and every other professor is being very helpful and then imagine a professor that is making absolutely EVERYTHING harder... yeah its professor Felvegi, goodluck if you take her.
This is supposed to be an easy A class which it is but her way of explaining assignments suck. She reminds you of the assignment regularly and gives you resources for help, but her way of explaining the actual assignment and how to do is so vague, that it leaves you more confused. Instead of helping you she confuses you more.
Without a doubt the most unorganized class I've ever been in. Professor Felvegi is very unclear with assignment instructions and her wording on test questions just calls for confusion. You must also hop between word documents/syllabus/announcements in order to get a definitive answer for when something is due. I would avoid this class at all costs.
Probably the only professor on campus who would willingly scrap our third test in favor of a group project during the middle of a pandemic in which we aren't allowed to physically meet with our group members. Trying to coordinate with 5 others through text made things unnecessarily difficult for a project that she made 30% of our total grade.
I took Dr. Felvegi's class my first semester of college and I couldn't have been happier. I've noticed a lot of people complaining about the group project she made despite the pandemic, but I actually thought the project was awesome. She did so because she wants to give us real world, hands on experience. For that I am very grateful.
The most amazing professor you will ever encounter! She really cares about her students and goes out of her way to make her student's lives easier. She is the reason why I have decided to do a double major. This is one of the most genuine people you will ever meet. She creates the textbook and made it free for students. BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!
This class started out okay but then went downhill as the semester went on. The material is simple stuff but Dr. Felvegi's way of explaining things can make things confusing. Her blackboard is a mess. I think she would be fine in person but she is absolutely not fit to be an online teacher.
You would think that during a pandemic she would be more accessible and caring towards her students but nope. Complete opposite. She is so unfair and if you miss something due to an emergency or anything crucial she will only give you partial credit. She doesn't care about her students and only cares about if you cheat or catching cheaters.
Where do I begin? During this pandemic, this professor has been so unaccommodating. She had passive aggressive remarks and told students they could not email her after certain timings. The class was fine in person but for some reason, took a very horrible turn during this time. Easy A if you teach yourself.
Felvegi has been one of the most amazing professors I have ever take. She rlly cares ab her students' education and she even offered the txtbk for free. All assignments are so easy and u can get an A on all the tests if u look at her notes. This class is an EASY A as long as u stay on top of ur stuff&put in a little bit of effort. LOVE HER!!!
I read the reviews before taking her and thought, "she cant be THAT bad", BUT SHE IS. Her instructions for projects, due dates, and her overall use of blackboard is confusing. Her grading criteria, also confusing. She IS rude to her students. She uses a condescending and sarcastic tone, which is just insulting. Don't take her.
We had to partake in a group project during this pandemic. We had to coordinate through blackboard with a group of 5. We had to have this count for 30% of our overall grade. Also, pretty sure shes the one reading the bad reviews and thumbing them down. And I think she's writing herself the good reviews too because there's just no way...
Figuring out when assignments were due was a hassle because of her blackboard layout. Information sheets would often list just the DATE something was due, but then you would get a last minute announcement saying the cutoff time is 1pm or 6pm instead of 11:59pm like every other class. She was unorganized and made things unnecessarily complicated.
I know she grew up in Hungary so English probably isn't her first language, which isn't bad, but her wording really made tests and assignments kind of confusing. It can usually be figured out, but on timed tests it can be a major issue. She should consider running her test questions by her TA or another professor to make sure that they make sense.
Professor wanted to give us the hardest project and made class so much harder for us and claimed it was to give real life experience.... It did no such thing. Also her attitude is HORRIBLE, she's so rude.
I believe that she is the only professor for MIS 3300 and she is amazing. The course itself is not difficult, if you pay attention in class and play around with excel you should be good. She truly cares about your learning and thus gives good feedback on your work. Online quizzes, 2 tests, and 2 projects (one group project).
She is a very nice person and actually cares about students and what she teaches. If you do your work, I literally do not know how you could fail this class. The textbooks are really good and free. She also has videos, quizlets, practice questions and ASA's that can help you. If you put in effort you will likely get a pretty good grade.
She seemed nice but was pretty difficult. It was sort of hard to figure out what the instructions were at times. If her blackboard were a little bit more organized I think it would have been okay, but unfortunately it was kind of messy. I also feel like she mishandled this whole pandemic and made the class more stressful than it needed to be.
I would have rather paid for an Excel course and probably wouldve learned a lot more. If you need this class for credit, GOOD LUCK. If not, I wouldnt even waste your time.
queen of over complicating everything. dont take her.
Professor Felvegi needs to read these reviews and take them as constructive criticism. Fix what is broken (your class instructions, attitude, organization).
I will willingly take a challenging course if it will teach me something valuable. The reason this class was so frustrating is because the challenges she presented didn't teach you anything, rather she just wanted to make things difficult for no good reason. This class somehow became more stressful than any of my advanced level courses.
She makes you work hard, not because excel is hard, but because her instructions are unclear and her blackboard is all over the place. She is also very sarcastic in a condescending way. When emailing her back and forth , I felt I was using voice and reason while she was acting like childish... don't take her...
Covid-19 made things hard for everyone but she kind of expected more out of her students but didnt hold herself to the same standard. Based on her blackboard, she doesnt seem to know how to create a good format for online classes. The group project really made it difficult for everyone because it wasnt laid out well enough for us to understand.
Be careful reading the other reviews for Prof Felvegi. She is very knowledgeable of Excel and truly wants to help. She does make things challenging, but she wants her students to be engaged. The challenges in the class were after the pandemic and I do not believe that defines her as a professor. To get a high grade in the class read the textbooks.
I love Dr. Felvegi! She is the best professor out there, I wish she taught all my courses. Please take her class and enjoy it, pay attention! I came in clueless, almost dropped the course, so thankful I didnt. You will learn a lot, her lectures are very cool. 3 tests, 2 projects, weekly quizzes. Dont slack, what you learn will always be useful!!!
I've never felt obligated to write a professor review but this class was really difficult. Everything was super easy when you figured it out but she really failed at explaining things. I tried to reach her twice to clarify directions but did not receive a response, and then got 0's on two assignments that made up a large portion of my grade.
If an assignment is due "by 1pm" I assume that is up until 1:00pm and 59 seconds. If 1pm is the cutoff then it should be listed as "BEFORE 1pm". I tried to turn in an assignment at 1pm, because life happens, and I was denied. Professor Felvegi wouln't work with me and I received a zero. Simple wording can make a huge difference.
I only asked her one question while class was in session and she made me feel stupid for asking it. Class felt pointless and she wouldn't allow computer usage in an Excel course? It was hard to know what she wanted out of our assignments and she was difficult to get in contact with. If you have an option, DON'T TAKE THIS COURSE.
Dr. Felvegi created a free textbook which really helped, but I really couldnt figure out her assignment instructions. Her lecture videos actually made things more confusing. When I had an issue I verified with my classmates and they seemed to have the same problems. Shes way too vague with her expectations.
Learned mostly from videos she posted rather than actually learning from her in class lectures, quizzes every week (easy, watch videos), 2 tests and 2 projects. She talks/explains slow, so just put it on 1.5x speed. Attendance based on inclass kahoot. COVID made it harder for one of the group project, instructions were not very clear.
Rude and unorganized. She doesn't keep her word either. She sent out an email last week explaining that she would post grades by that weekend and early into the week... its now Sunday and no grades are in. Take someone else and save yourself the headache. Very rude lady.
She was a horrible professor. Very confusing, very rude. This was supposed to be the 'easy' class that balances out the more difficult ones BUT she was so unorganized and confusing with her instructions/expectations that this ended up being WAYYYYYYY harder of a class than it needed to be.
She is a very good professor and is very passionate about what she teaches but make sure to study the information she repeats in class. Most of the test questions should not be a surprise if you go to class and follow along. She also provides a lot of additional study materials that help with passing her class.
If a school chooses to only have one professor for a certain subject, then that professor needs to be on their A game. This one was NOT. Youll eventually have to teach yourself because her way of explaining stuff just doesnt make any sense.
Dr. Felvegi can come off as rude but dont take it personal. Expect weekly quizzes due on Mondays at 1pm. Reading her two textbooks are required. One individual project. Kahoot for attendance and participation grade so dont skip class. Earned an A by attending class, skimming through the book, and practicing questions for exam.
Its boring, she lectures by reading right off the powerpoint, and attendance is required. However, she provides the textbook free. Do the readings & actually do the examples from the book and review her quizlets/kahoots and you should easily get an A.
Amazing professor. Would definitely take her again.
She is the only intro teacher for MIS, so you have to take her if you need the credit. Kahoot quiz every class (sometimes 2), and you have to get 60% or above or else you don't get attendance points. Does provide a textbook, easy quiz every week, 3 tests (based on quizzes and kahoots), 1 individual project, and 1 group project.
Easy A if you keep up with lectures
I really enjoyed her class. She is very strict on participating and reading the textbook which is free. She is quick to respond to emails and help explain things when needed. I enjoyed this class a lot. As long as you do your homework and read the chapters you will pass.
uses textbook, has weekly lecture videos uploaded which helps in understanding the chapter more. Homework thru connect, test are easy if you keep up with the units and do the review.
Took BCIS1305 in fall 2020. Textbook is free and detailed! Any storms or whatever she will update everyone and extend deadlines. Weekly async assignments where you "Mark Reviewed" for participation. Class is out of a 100 pts. Every fraction of points missed builds up. NO EXAMS, just open book quizzes and group projects. Easy A.
pls do not take, made this class so unnecessarily hard for everyone and spends most the lectures yelling at us or having the ta's get onto us. didnt seem to care and accessed us all of cheating for no reason
Her BCIS class is an easy A+. No test nor final. Instead we just had a group project and an individual project(which was basically just a quiz), both being very easy. Her quizzes are lecture heavy yet easy. She does talk very slow during her recorded lectures but just make the video speed 1.5x.
Definitely one of the easier classes you'll take. Felvegi responds to email extremely quickly and is accommodating. Lectures are a little dull, though they're usually shorter than 10 minutes and primarily reinforces chapter contents. Weekly open-notes quizzes with no time limits for each chapter. Group and Indv. projects are easy as well.
Dr. Felevgi is so incredibly sweet, and makes sure you are on top of your work. She lets you makeup your work any time, there is no final, and the work and projects are very easy. She is very understanding and communicates very well. Because there are no sychronousno lectures, she has 2 mandatory office hours a semester that are super helpful!<3
This is a fun class and is easy. The format of the online class is different but all classes are different. There are NO test. Only quizzes and one group project thats fun. I highly recommend her online class. I did not have zoom meetings just her class fully online and I made an A with minimal effort. All I did was watch her videos and did well.
Weekly modules to complete with a quiz at the end. One group project that makes up a good portion of your overall grade and one individual project to complete. Do your assignments and you'll be guaranteed an A.
Really passionate about the subject. Class is just watching videos of her do features on excel and you learning them for a quiz. Make sure to listen to ALL her modules bc quizzes have at least 1 random/obscure question on some random fact. Group project was a pain but easy. Really learned a lot about Bauer bc of her class, and shes v accessible
The class I took was fine, it mainly consisted of watching lectures and then taking a quiz each week. You had to do a group project which was not hard but was annoying. The individual project was simple. I would recommend the class it was one of my least stressful classes.
NO FINAL OR TESTS. 1 group project that she tells you how to put on your resume if you want. Posts videos every week walking you thru excel stuff. 1-2 quizzes a week, and they are worded kind of weird and specific which tripped me up, but they are open note. She genuinely cares and has a fun personality. She provides the textbook.
Her explanations and expectations do not align. She is a nice person but genuinely not the nicest or greatest professor. With unclear instructions, it was very hard to be successful in this course.
I really enjoyed this course and Professor Felvegi did a great job regardless of the class being online. Videos + Quiz around 2 times per week. Quizzes were open book so not very difficult. The group project was pretty fun and it's a good resume item. Just do what she tells you and you'll pass with minimal effort.
Learned nothing. The grades are based on a project.
I hated this class. She couldnt be more boring. I really want to learn Excel but its hard to learn from her. When project time came around I was so confused what we were supposed to be doing because I couldnt figure out how to communicate with my group members- she didnt allow Group Me. Due dates and homework were confusing.
This class was entirely online when I took it and there wasn't anything special about it. I did have to do a group project that lasted a few weeks, but wasn't anything extraordinarily difficult. Her lectures are dry and somewhat boring, but you can find all the information you need from reading the textbook on your own (it's free).
Lectures are so boring. Her instructions are kind of unclear and confusing. For the group project, she doesn't allow Group me so it is very hard to communicate with group members. If you miss something on the project, you aren't allowed to continue and you have to do a replacement individual project. Project is huge portion of grade.
Although the class attendance was not mandatory, the lecture videos provided are a MUST watch. The most annoying thing is the group projects, you get ZERO instructions or at least a rubric or example of how to do the project. I recommend to not take her and find someone else.
DO NOT TAKE HER. Emailed her many times and she doesn't reply to them. Project at the end of the semester is confusing and if you miss one assignment, you are pulled out of the project right away.
Dr. Felvegi is a decent professor. Genuinely cares about preparing students for the workforce. The course was somewhat unorganized and expectations were not always clear. However, she was quick to respond to any questions/concerns by email. Lectures were extremely slow and boring, (virtually, at least) and you could learn the material elsewhere.
Would give her a zero if I could. Worst professor I ever had. Your on your own with this professor.
Literally one of the sweetest professors I've ever had in UH! She uploads recorded lectures that are super informative and helpful. Easy and straightforward open-notes weekly quizzes and towards the end, there a couple of individual and group projects. She sends out weekly emails about the assignments which help you keep track of all upcoming work
All around confusing. If you have the option to take a different professor, do so.
Twice a week there are assignments due by 5pm. I did not like this because most classes assignments are due by midnight. There are no test, but a group project instead. There's a lot of excel assignments. Her videos are slow and boring. Professor is organized and detailed about grading and expectations.
This was a very easy class. There are weekly quizzes that you need to follow with her lectures where she shows you how exactly to do the functions that she is teaching. The group project was quite ease as well as the individual project which is just a quiz.
By far one of the most passive aggressive teachers I've ever encountered. She is not friendly to her students, especially those who have questions. I understand people have off days but she maintains a rude attitude with everyone all the time. If you can take another prof, I'd do that asap.
Never met a professor who hates her students so much. It baffles me as to why she chose this career path.
All around, this was a very easy class. In my opinion, there was never a need to go back to the reading to understand the material. Her videos were a bit monotonous, but if you put it at 1.50x speed, you should be able to go through it quite quickly. There were two projects which were easy as well.
If you attend classes and listen to her lectures, she's very thorough, and her teaching style promotes success. She responds to emails and is always available for assistance to supplement tutoring. She is the author of the textbook, so she is dedicated to making sure everyone understands it. No exams, just a lot of quizzes and a few projects.
This professor is honestly one of the best I have. She makes the grading criteria very clear and most of our grades are made up of assignments based on her reading and step-by-step Excel work based on a textbook that is written by her. Never have I reached out and asked for help and she did not help me or I felt like she didn't want to. Awesome!
Dr. Felvegi is for the real world. She is nice, caring, and is to the point when it comes to grading. She reminds when things are due, and is accomodating when it is tough to get things done. I learned so much with her, and she made sure that I practiced and applied the skills learned. Definitely would take again!
Such a easy class. She provides the textbook for free. You have weekly quizes which are super easy. This class does not take a lot of effort at all. There is no final and only a group project that diesn not require a lot of work at all. Overall take this class if you want a easier class to work on.
This class was incredibly easy, and I did not learn more than a couple things, unfortunately. If you are looking for an easy A, take her, but beware she will treat you like you are a high schooler, and send constant emails, and this class is NOT MAC FRIENDLY. This class had no final, but she posts her lessons and the content is easy.
This class was very easy and understandable. You simply read the chapter, and take mini-quizzes which are usually 5-10 questions. These were due at the beginning of each week and would take me 1hr. Even the "projects" at the end of the semester are straightforward and have a quiz-like format. Easy A class, would defiantly recommend it.
One of the best experiences I have had in a college course thus far. A very straightforward teacher. You do quizzes, projects and just need to participate in order to get an easy A in this class. I recommend taking the individual project, instead of the group project.
The textbook is free. I got switched to hybrid. She treats the class as though it requires your undivided attention, but if you ignore that and try your best you will be okay. Do not do work on the due date as she will blame you for technological failures in the case you need an extension.
This class was all about Excel and it was super easy. I signed up for her hybrid class but she got injured so we did everything online instead. She posted weekly lectures (SUPER SHORT VIDEOS!!!) and homeworks on Blackboard. Just do everything she posted, and you will get an easy A.
Dr.Felvegi is an awesome professor! She's sweet and easy to talk to. The workload is doable. The people who gave her bad ratings probably don't watch her short lectures or don't turn in assignments in time. You have a week to turn in quizzes, and it's open-note. Clear rubric, and she even gives us a free e-textbook. Easy A
This class is full of busywork assignments of learning how to use excel. Just do all the assignments that are available on time and you should be fine. The actual material is not hard and will be necessary for later classes.
I loved Felvegi - she very obviously cares about her students coming out of class with some tangible skills rather than inflated grades. I learned a lot from the class about excel and technology in general and got an easy A!
She is a great professor . Replies to all email . She is concerned about you . I ended up with an A (93+) . Grading criteria is very simple . The best part is there are no exams. Would take the professor if she offers more classes . Just make sure you complete your work and you should be good.
This class was very straightforward. An open-source textbook was used, and there were weekly assignments due every Monday. As long as you follow along the resources she provides every week, the assignments should not be difficult. I learned a lot about Excel from his class. Besides weekly assignments, there was a project and discussion due.
The bad reviews are just salty that they didn't get an A handed to them. This class is super easy and professor Felevgi is really nice and has amazing lectures. There is a lot of busy work but nothing to extreme; you can definitely finish it in a day. Take this professor, you won't regret it.
Straightforward class with nothing special going on. She can seem a bit dry when she teaches, and to be honest I never really needed to contact her for anything. Most material can be learned through her provided resources and isn't difficult to grasp. Good for credit.
She is really sweet and always willing to help her students. The class is an easy A, as long as you do your work.
Professor Felvegi has her 1305 content in check! Class was very easy to understand, complete all the homework due for the week by 5pm the next Monday. She puts a lot of attention on her homework so you are able to clearly understand what is expected. Time management is the secret to success in her 1305 class.
Her class is extremely easy and an easy A. No exam, you will have homework every week that take 30 minutes max to do. There are 3 finals project that also take 30 minutes each to do.
Some of the tasks are tedious, so definitely not an easy A, but doable.
The professor is wonderful at teaching and makes the material very easy to understand. This class is the easiest, you just have to watch the videos to understand the material. Also, the professor and tutors are always there to help.
Very useful class and easy to get an A+. Just do everything and you'll pass. Very pretentious when responding to emails so student beware. It's a little frustrating but if you don't mind some rude and mildly amusing emails then go ahead and take the class for an easy A+.
This class is an easy A. No exams, just weekly modules, also I learned a lot of new things about excel. I took her for the Summer semester. Take her for BCIS 1305!!
Easy class, but she's very disparaging in lectures. She assumes you aren't paying attention, which wastes everyone's time. Due dates are always at 5pm, so if you work during the day I wouldn't take this class. I would've rather taken a harder class with a professor that was respectful than deal with this circus again.
Easy class but some of the quizzes make no sense. Some of the questions do not come out of the book and she expects you to know them because they are common sense.
Disrespectful, snarky professor. Unhelpful and long-winded lectures. Speaks to her students like they're toddlers. Quizzes are redundant and a waste of time. Due dates are always at 5pm. Do not take this class.
Her quizzes are so annoying, and she expects you to know things that she never covered in lectures. You can tell she isn't a good person. It's an A if you put a good amount of effort into it. Not a blowoff class.
Lectures are a must!!! Honestly, dont even need the book even though its free. She goes over every steps and gives independent practices. Quizzes are over lectures and practices. Materials overall arent hard just do it and youll pass. She also gives extra credit. Simple work, but is due every monday and friday at 5pm.
Take the class. I'm taking this as a first semester freshman so I wasn't sure what to expect of any college courses. This is not difficult at all as long as you complete your assignments on time. Alot of extra credit opportunities as well, she is very giving!
Would recommend this professor. Workload isn't a lot and this class is pretty easy. Assignments are due at 5pm which can be annoying, but otherwise everything was good.
Quite frankly, professor Felvegi's course was one of the best classes that I have ever taken. Take this class!
EASY! Just complete weekly assignments.
She is a great professor. For my specific course, there were weekly modules to complete with more than enough time. As long as you follow along, you will easily pass this class. The modules aren't too long and there was only one data analysis case study at the end of the semester. Super easy class and she's easy to follow along with.
NO TEST! your grade is based on the work you do in the course; easy material (learning excel), and lots of extra credit opportunities. We have 2 weekly modules to complete but I usually finished them in one sitting. Do your work and you can get an A in this class
Take this class asynchronous if possible! She is a fine professor but I would've enjoyed it much more if it was all online. Thursday classes aren't mandatory to attend and there are no exams. You will make a good grade if you do all of the assignments. For the in person group project it is a bit disorganised and frustrating.
This course was very easy, all the resources were provided. Professor Felvegi is very caring towards student's education. There's lots of useful information learned through this course, take it!
She writes her own textbook which is free for all (so cool of her). Class is just learning the basics of Excel functions, as long as you use the textbook and her screencasted videos when doing homework, you should pass this class with a 100 like I did.
She is not a good professor. Does not care about the well-being of her students. Stay away. Easy class, but professor is not a good person in general.
Pretty easy class, and she gives many opportunities to do extra credit. Some of the quizzes are tricky, but nothing crazy to worry about. Just do your best and do the extra credit, and you'll get a grade you'll like.
Don't let the negative reviews scare you, she is a great professor! Once you get the hang of it the class it is a breeze. I will say that the class is a bit assignment heavy, possibly 1 hr to 1& 1/2 hours for each, and you have two assignments each week. A good thing is the due date of your assignments never changes, Mondays and Fridays at 5pm.
There are no exams!! There's quite a bit of homework, but it doesn't take long to complete them (about an hour or less depending on your Excel proficiency): there were times where the homework questions had confusing wording, but it's rare. The class mainly consists of learning about Excel & its functions, which surprisingly was fun to use.
Gives extra credit, posts videos on every module even if you have a zoom class, and is an overall caring professor. She is genuine about learning and wants you to actually watch and read the content, you can definitely get an A if you just pay attention to her videos. Would take her again if I could.
No extra credit, but there are lots of assignments to help maintain a passing score. Her class is laidback and chill. The textbook is free. Assignments are relatively easy if you watch her videos and/or read the textbook.
If you have any experience the class is a waste of time. It's easy to do all of her weekly modules. She's harsh when it comes to free-response assignments, but there are not many throughout the semester. It's just annoying. The only reason I would recommend taking this class in person is if you need the honors credit.
Easy class, just so many assignments. Literally had an A- only because of how many assignments there were
There are lots of assignments to help maintain a passing score. Her class is laid back and chill. The textbook is free. Assignments are relatively easy but time-consuming if you watch her videos and/or read the textbook you'll be good
I really liked the professor and her passion for MIS. This was the most EASIEST class that I've ever taken online (asynchronous). She uploads A LOT of assignments in the class, the textbook is free and she also gives out extra credit as well. My advice would be just stay on top of your homework and the rest would be a breeze. Really gonna miss it.
Professor Felvegi is one of the most caring souls ever. She cares about you and your academics. She provides many opportunities to get an A. Her work is very simple and to the point.
It's very hard not to get an A in Professor Felvegis's class everything is pretty easy to follow even though her coursework may take some time its super easy to do and she's a great teacher and person highly recommend taking her for BSIC
The class is laid back, she made learning how to use excel easy. Textbook is free as well which is an added bonus. Usually 1-2 chapters of hw per week but its easily manageable.
as easy as doing everything listed every week. simply put, this class is an intro to excel, and dr. felvegi is very good at teaching you how everything is done. one of the most easiest classes you'll ever take, plus you learn how to use excel. absolutely take her!
class is basically weekly modules and a project at the end. It's easy, just that you do have to spend some time on the modules. she seems sweet I never had to contact her there wasn't any issues.
A bunch of modules you gotta do but they're easy. Surprisingly though it is an online class, I learned a decent amount probably due to her unique way of teaching. Easy class
It's a pretty easy class overall. Every week you have to do 1-3 modules which are super easy. There are a few opportunities for extra credit towards the end of the semester and you have an option to either take the final or do a capstone project, or both. Work load was definitely less than other classes.
BCIS is a 100 percent online class. Every week depending on what time you signed up for, there is weekly modules where you are giving readings/quizzes where you learn different ways to use Excel. She genuinely cares about what she teaches and as long you pay attention to the videos/notebook, you will do very good in this class.
Very easy class. Just do the modules and pay attention to them and you'll get an A. The lectures are very informative, and the exercises are easy to follow along.
Very easy class as long as you follow along with the material. She gives you maybe 5 small things to do every week, never takes longer than an hour or two. The material is actually well worth learning as it helps with excel and I did learn some new things. Highly suggest taking her for the online course.
Weekly assignments online that can be completed in a day. Sure, some assignments can be tedious at times, but the content isn't difficult and she's very encouraging along the way.
This online class was pretty easy. It was Excel heavy as it should be. As long as you do the weekly assignments, you'll be fine. There was no final test, just a project.
The professor was great and a really easy grader. There is a lot of homework due every week, opening and due every Tuesday @11:30AM. The only thing is she doesn't post the assignments ahead of time, so if you have an assignment tracker you might have to update it every week. But, other than that I would recommend her for BCIS.
The easiest professor and class you will take; if you have difficult courses a semester, this class is great to pair up with a heavy semester.
Professor Felvigi's is an awesome professor who is very effective as well as engaging with student. Although its an online course I would recommend choosing this professor as your next professor for this course (BCIS 1305). Very friendly as well as very great lecture.
I missed a few assignments due to unforseen circumstances and she did not even consider letting me retake them. The class is super boring and bc the class is asynch, she doesnt even have to actually do anything, so idk why she is getting paid. grades are due 11:30am which is such a weird time for a due date. Otherwise, the class is an easy A.
Prof Felvegi is very kind. She makes concepts easy to understand and you learn valuable Excel skills. Assignments open weekly (you can't work ahead) and are due in the morning. Everything is doable in one sitting and does not take long. Prof sends weekly notifications and sometimes text messages to remind you to complete assignments!
Great class, her class was super easy!! Take her you won't reget it
Dr. Felvegi knows her content, to be blunt. She is an amazing professor who not only is willing to help in person, she provides recorded lectures that you can watch and do the homework alongside her. It is practically impossible to fail this class if you follow her textbook.
This is one of the best Profs I have had she gives so many opportunities to make course work I mean many. Though you should not need to because this is a very light course load that is one day of work that can be done in 2 hours at most. She is a very kind Prof that enjoys teaching her job and is very understanding.
This class is super easy and very helpful Excell is super easy once you get the hang of it. Each assignment varies on percentage points most were .5% of total grades, but each is multiple attempts. There's no way to fail unless just put in at least an hr a week doing her work. Only one test which was super easy worth 20%. Get it out of the way ASAP
I had Felvegi online so I never contacted her or communicated with her in any way, though the recordings make her seem very friendly. Besides that BCIS1305 is just a weekly assignment that you can easily do. Some of it can be tricky but it would surprise me if someone got below a 97 in this class.
Dr. Felvegi is very kind and is always making sure students know what is expected in the course. Everything is given each week, quizzes, homeworks, lectures, and practice material. I highly recommend her especially for those who are independent workers.
Dr. Felvegi makes this course a breeze. With weekly assignments, step-by-step lectures, and helpful reminders, even Excel novices can excel. unstuckstudy ai is a great study tool too.
A ton of assignments due each week on Tuesday morning which take around 1-3 hours. There's no extra credit so be sure to do well on all assignments. Overall an easy, but tedious class so make sure to complete assignments at least a day before the deadline!
Professor Felvegi is absolutely amazing and a joy to have been able to have taken her class for building skills that I will use for the rest of my career! Please don't listen to the naysayers, she is an absolute gem at UH
This is course is actually easy, however the professor makes it difficult. She talks down like we are toddlers and she is very very passive aggressive. There is a lot of homework assignments every week due at 10am and every assignment is work from 0.5 - 2% of the course which makes you think the work load is not worth that very little percentage.
Professor Felgevi's class was a breeze. Two modules open every Tuesday at 1 PM. There are multiple small assignments throughout the modules, but they're easy. I learned how to use Excel and the chapters themselves were fun and interesting. You'll do great if you manage your time well and understand the material (especially Excel Chapters 5 and 6).
She was really well, very good online lectures, honestly easy peasy.
Dr. Felvegis class was very simple. Two excel modules open every tuesday which take about 1-2 hours to complete if focused. The class itself wasnt too hard, mainly just learning about excel with 80% of the grade coming from mostly the weekly modules and 20% coming from simple quizzes at the end, which you only have one attempt on.
She is very straightforward on what is needed to be done and grades fairly. It is a lot of work and takes about 1-2 hours. There is no finial exam just a project. The SAM trainings you do at the end is a lot and takes about 6-8 so do it ahead of time. Overall her class is pretty easy and take it online.
Weekly modules take 2–3 hours MAX. Open notes. 3 attempts for everything but the final project. Accessible help. Easy class—just follow along for Excel, read, or watch videos, then use Ctrl+F. Sends gradesaving email reminders. Gave extra credit at the end. It's an easy A. Worst part was SAM modules—easy but slow. Take it. Best Class Ever and funny
She synthesizes the many functions and basics of Microsoft Excel into easily digestible lectures and cracks a few jokes in between the videos to keep you awake lol. If she sees that you're falling behind, she cares enough to remind you to turn them in and her TA's provide extra help when needed! TAKE THE CLASS SHES GREAT
This class is easy if you do the weekly modules on time and set 1-2 hours aside for it. Lots of videos, you will complete excel sheets (use the textbook written directions) that helps more. Just stay on top of your tasks, DO NOT START AT LAST MINUTE
She's a good professor, and it's at your own pace. I never had to dedicate too much time to this class. fairly easy. There are video quizzes and then there are regular quizzes, but she has a "guide" video for each quiz, and if you look closely, most of the questions are answered in her videos. Kinda salty that she doesn't accept late work though.
Although this was an online course and I have never seen this professor in person, I respect her! The Canvas page was very well put together and it is very hard to not know what is going on. Do not fall behind on the weekly assignments because a lot is due every week. Dr. Felvegi is very helpful.
Fairly straightforward class, not time-consuming at all. Each week would open a new module where you would follow along to a video and learn more about Excel. Further in the semester, you'll also learn more about PowerPoint, outlook, and other Microsoft suites of content. Easy class, shouldn't give you too much trouble.
This class is easy if you put in the work. One to two modules a week. Watch the videos and do it on time. Not hard at all.
Mr. Felvegi was chilll. Her class was easy if you just do your work, and if you engage with her she is super nice.
Such a sweet professor. She really wants you to succeed and she provides as many sources as she can. Just submit your assignments on time and you will maintain an A in the class. Take her!
Excel is tricky already, and I feel that she explains it well. She has weekly assignments, which, I won't lie, are quite a lot, but u can complete them in under 2 hrs, they also have follow along videos for explanation. No exams/final just 2 capstone projects, which is really easy if you understand pivot tables/tables in general, each take an hour.
It very much is an online class, you do everything on canvas it is very straightforward with what you need to do. basically a couple of modules due every week at 1pm on tuesday. i always would wait till monday to click through all of it and it was pretty easy
If there is any other option for professors for this course take them unless you want to spend hours and hours on assignments. She is very strict and has a lot of work assigned for such a simple course and the deadline is every Tuesday at 1pm. Not the best option but if you have no other choice just do the work and you should be fine.
Sometimes assignments can seem to be a lot, but then you realize they are pretty easy. I would be done with all assignments for the week in about 2-3 hours. Professor is chill and provides good guiding videos so you can follow that if you don't want to read the textbook. The major project was also easy if you paid attention throughout the semester.
in the beginning of the semester its assignment heavy but it dies down. its kinda hard material but her videos walk you through it completely. sorry macbook ppl, but you have to figure out some things cuz she doesnt explain it through apple terms. overall p easy lots of assignments within the week but doable. everything due at 1pm tues...no 11:59!!
Easy course. It's a college course and you're praying for it, just use your brain.
Just do the assignments weekly. Her kaltura graded videos are informative. Again, just do the work every week and you'll get an A.
Such a chill teacher!! I considered this class quite enjoyable. If you are good at Excel, then this class is definitely for you. She assigns around 5-6 assignments a week. It may seem like a lot, but it is manageable to complete all of the assignments in one sitting. The assignments are due the Tuesday after the week they are assigned at 1 PM.
This is a honors BCIS 1305 Class. It's goes well and Dr. Felvegi really care about her students and supports students in their projects. Weekly assignments and the final group project will help you improve your teamwork skill and public speaking. Take her class!
You will read, watch quite a few videos, and take quizzes. She gave us several tries on each quiz! There was also Excel homework. Assignments were self-explanatory. She was accessible, offered extra credit, and no final. We did "Capstone" projects instead. If you do the homework, they're a breeze. I would absolutely take her again!
Lots of work and repetition. Not hard work but can take some time of understand, she LOVES to talk in her videos. Assignments are due at 1pm on Tuesdays. She will blow up your email if you don't start it days before due date, every assignment is worth like .5 or 1 pt, be prepped for 3 hours of just looking at excel per week.
With all due respect, I would appreciate it if Professor Felvegi started emailing her students in a more professional tone. She likes to talk about 9-5 practicality (due date @ 1pm, communicate within 9-5 hours on weekdays, etc), but isn't professional communication also a skill for such environment? College students are adults, not babies.
She's a really nice teacher, but her material can be very tedious and take a while. Not sure why things are due 1 Pm on tuesday so its something to look out for.
Easy class if you know excel a little bit beforehand, assignments open at 1pm every tuesday and there can be a lot but it can all be done within 2-3 hrs even when taking ur time. She can send passive aggressive emails saying do your work but it's because a lot of people just neglect the course and she cares, I find the emails can be silly.
Easiest class I have taken this semester! The assignments are due every Tuesday at 1 PM and new work is also released Tuesdays at 1 PM. There isn't too much work per week but it is slightly tedious, about 2-3 hrs to complete. Also she has no tests only quizzes.
Echoing others, she can be a little silly/passive through email (all good intentions to make sure you're on top of it tho), but that's more of a personal issue than the course itself. Her course is laid out very clearly, and you should have no issue as long as you dedicate 3 hours a week towards the assignments and follow along with the lectures
Professor Felvegi is a fantastic educator. The coursework is very interactive, and you will actually learn a lot in her class. Assignments are open and due every week on Tuesday at 1 pm. Some weeks there's more work than others, but if you stay on top of the due dates, you will be successful and get an easy A.
Really easy class! She explains each excel spreadsheet in detail, so you'd have to really try to fail this course. Mid-semester it is pretty assignment heavy (15 assignments a week), but it took me about 2 hours to get it done. Overall an easy A!
Very easy class! Video lectures are easy. Homework is very easy, but there is a lot of it. I would procrastinate and do it the day before it was due and always finished on time. But just be aware of how much of it you have. She's also very accessible if you have any issues or questions.
Amazing professor, I was actually interested in the course (I was interested in Excel before class) it a very easy class, there is a lot of work to be done though.
Class has a lot of HW every week, but the simple thing is that you can easily speed run through these weekly assignments about Excel and MIS concepts. It takes 1-2 hours every week. Once you get it down, you can guarantee an A in her class if you keep being consistent. The only downside is she opens weekly assignments every tuesday at 1pm.
Professor Felvegi was an awesome professor and this course was very simple providing good insighit into the Business industries. Although it was an online lecture the professor provided good feedback and even provided extra credit throughout the semester. Overall, Professor Felvegi is a great professor. (Took it in Spring 2024)
Professor Felvegi was a good professor. She is not a strict teacher and is willing to extend deadlines when needed. She assigns a lot of work each week but it's manageable. All assignments open on Tuesday and are due the following Tuesday. Just make sure you're setting aside a decent amount of time each week. Also there's no final for the class.
Very easy course, should be an easy A. She is very strict about getting things turned in on time.
Taken online, this class is chill. Posts weekly assignments Tuesday 1 pm and expect them done by the same time next week. It's all busywork that takes 1-3 hours MAX. She's uses different softwares and expect you to follow directions while using them. TAs aren't helpful but that may have just been my experience. Do the work and you'll be fine.
Her class is pretty chill tbh, most work can be done the night before, everything for the week is due tuesday 1pm, takes about an 1-3 hrs max to get done. she sends so so many emails if you dont start anything early in the week
great professor really has a passion for what she is teaching. simple work with excel everything is due 1 PM to make work habits even async. take her and do the work on time. cengage, exprep, and has her online lecture quizzes pretty chill. learn alot of great stuff!
A great professor that goes above and beyond by adding elements to the curriculum that actually will help you later on in life wether or not you end up pursuing business. Lots of extra credit at the end of the year.
6/10 overall
The class is hybrid if taken in-person (Tue in-person, Thu online). Remember to complete the modules, especially Cengage and Exprep. Apart from that, your group project will take up the majority of your time. The prof can be unclear with the grading criteria but the project isn't hard. Weekly work can be completed in 1-3 hours. Highly recommend!
Many assignments feel like busy work that don't really help have a deep understanding of the concepts taught in the class, Cengage assignments are the worst offender with upwards of 40 repetitive tasks on one assignment, when you have upwards of 14 other quizzes and assignments to do in the same week.
no tests or essays, the project is literally so easy u just answer questions. but SOOOOOO much work, like boring mind numbing MEANINGLESS work dude. overall, worth it to me tho!
