Great teacher, she is very laid back and always does full chapter reviews before her tests. She is really busy though so try not to miss her class as she is awful with email correspondence. She gives extra credit assignments and is flexible with deadlines. In fact, she rarely gives a deadline. Do ALL the reading and the tests will be a breeze. READ

She's a good professor but you must attend every class. Only thing I didn't like about her class was that we had to read the textbook at home then we had a quiz and after the quiz she would give you the outline. Most of the information I learn was by reading the textbook. She gives extra credit too. Textbook is a MUST

Take her even if your have more classes and feel kinda stress about it. she makes her class easy and i loved it when she go over her outlines before every test! which means that if ypu didn't study for the test you still have a chance to refresh your mind.

Professor McCaskill is such a sweet person & really cares about her students. Makes the lectures easier to grasp & gives a lot of examples based on her own line of work. She approaches the coursework by making us view things as if we're therapists already. Very inspiring. Encourages us to push ourselves(wisely) to achieve our future goals. Love! :)

One of the best teachers I've had during my time in Laguardia. Professor McCaskill is so patient and nice to her students. She's very helpful and very clear. She gives examples in class and that really helped me study for her exams. We were required to buy the textbook, you do have to read.

Best Pyschology professor ever! Enjoyed coming into class on Saturday mornings at 9 AM just for her lectures. The way she explains things and her outlook on the subject is just beautiful. She is a very fair grader and gives you points for trying. I did horribly on exams but I still got a B because I was never absent never late & always participated

I took her class for Abnormal Psychology and I loved every minute of it. It was so worth getting up at 6 am just to get to her class at 9! She was so passionate about the subject that made it easy to follow along. I would take her class again in a heartbeat!

She explains things in real life situations. I loved the class, she was caring, respectful and very focused on making students retain the information she passed on. She uses power points but they help a lot to guide students through the class and the readings.

This class was amazing! BUT, regardless of how great your other class work in this section are make sure to do amazing on the Midterm and Final because they count a lot. The final cost me A LOT of points. Overall, she is super nice, considering, and her teaching is amazing! Definitely loved this class. Wished for a better grade though!

Really wonderful professor! She teaches with a passion - she wants you to succeed & isn't there just for a check. She's also a psychotherapist & uses her real life cases for lectures. Her exams are on the easier side & they all come with extra credit, the textbook is a must. She does 5 question quizzes before class. I'm taking her again for SSY240.

Absolutely would take this professor again. Her lectures are interesting, she's soft spoken and really cares about her students. Her quizzes are not difficult. She gives two midterm exams. Study the power points that she provides and you should pass.

I LOVE Prof. McCaskill. She is amazing in lecture. Took SSY230 in summer session. A few take home quizzes, papers, midterm and final. Read the book, study the PP, take notes, and GO TO CLASS. A few tricky questions on exams, so know the material. I'm hoping to take her for another class, I really wish it could be all of them.

She is the calmest, most knowledgeable and simply the best of the best. She is very passionate about the subject matter and her lectures are always so interesting. I took her for both SSY 101 and SSY 240 and simply loved her classes. Highly recommended!

AMAZING Professor. I mention her the second anyone brings up wanting to take a psych course. I took her during the intense 6 week semester & wouldn't have minded having 12 weeks. Her Exams mirror the PP lecture slides; a lot of extra credit opportunities, very understanding if a topic triggers you, just all around awesome professor & human being.

Amazing Professor. You will not regret taking her class, whether it is for the long session or short. She is so caring, understanding and professional. Extra credit opportunities, take home quizzes and only a midterm and final which are all multiple choice/true&false. I did not buy the book and just focused on power points. You will do great!

Her work comes with deadlines so you're able to focus on other subjects, go back later, Her assignments and exams are easy, very lecture heavy, the one thing I didn't like what that she give a 5-page paper and told us about it a week before it was due and we had a 75 final exam. But it is a good class!

Professor McCaskill is one of the best professors I met at LaGuardia. She teaches students based on her years of experiences and research on mental health, also she incorporates the use of the textbook which helps students understand the material. Her teaching was clear, and provided a complete guideline for assignment.

She is understanding and kind. Her lectures are very interesting. She gives you the freedom to finish all the assignments by the end of the semester. There is some material you cover on your own by reading the textbook and then take a quiz. 3 video reflections and 3 optional extra credit 3 multiple choice exams & term paper. Seems a lot but easy

The experience I had within this class is unmatched. Grading is by the best I've ever came across, extremely caring like she was the reason the word was ever created. I found this class to be motivating and an awakening of what I wanted to do in the future, hopefully whoever is reading this goes through the same experience.
