I love prof Emily so much. I'm a math major but she made me LOVE this class. She's so funny and puts real-world examples in lectures. Though she does this, she never says her political view or makes you say yours. If you listen to her in the lecture, you will get an A!

She is probably my favorite teacher at Texas State. She is so sweet, understanding, and tries to make this class as easy as she possibly can. She makes lectures more relatable and uses real-world examples. The textbook and assignments are all online, so if you pay attention to the slides/lectures you will pass.

She is awesome! Her lectures are very interactive and easy to understand. You can tell she enjoy teaching and throwing her bad jokes which are actually funny.

I actually enjoyed the lectures a lot and i think government is so boring. Itook this as an 8am and would definitely recommend taking this for an early class. She does reviews on zoom the day before the tests and the homework assignments are online and can be time consuming but are straight 100s if you do all of them.

I absolutely LOVED this class! Fikac was not afraid to engage in meaningful conversations with her students, and cared about our grade and success. She was funny and animated, which honestly kept me awake during my 8am. I would 100% recommend this class if you are looking to learn and get a good laugh in too.

She made this class really enjoyable and was always open to having discussions with the students. She also really wants everyone to have the highest grade you can and really cares about her students. You should definitely take her if you have the chance!

Professor Fikac lectures are so interesting and they keep everyone engaged even if you don't like politics. She keeps her own views out of them which makes sure that she's respected by everyone as she does not show bias. Her tests are online and she puts her slides on Canvas which makes it easy to study.

Emily Fikac is my queen. Her tests are online and are super easy to ace bc she goes over the test questions during review. Just make sure to stay one track with the connect hw. She will always give extra credit if you ask for it. she's super sweet. Loves participation during lecture and will give bonus points on test if you participate in class.

Great professor. Although she might go off on tiny tangents, here lectures are overall fun and engaging. Everything is online. Every assignment for each unit is due on the same day as the test for that unit is; gives you plenty of weeks to work on it, or you can procrastinate like I did and did everything the week of the test. Would 100% recommend.

She's super nice, there's a lot of hw but if you get them all out the way you'll be fine. Attendance isn't mandatory all she does is read off slides which is boring so just look over them and take notes. Tests are online which is nice, and so are the quizzes. I recommend if you want an easy going prof.

The best Political Science professor at Texas State. She tells you what is going to be on the test in her lectures. She always comes to class prepared and with a smile on her face. There are many opportunities for extra credit even if you just participate in lectures. 110% recommend.

She is an amazing professor!! We have like 4 different units, and for each unit theres a couple assignments, a quiz, and an exam all due on the same day, so you can get everything done super early on.

She is very energetic and loves what she does. Definitely choose her if you are able to.

Best professor I have had so far. She gives a ton of extra credit opportunities and is very flexible during office hours. I would definitely recommend to go to her office hours a day or two before an exam, she usually goes over the test questions which helps a lot. Her lectures are very engaging and informative.

Emily was amazing! She condensed the material which made it easy to learn all the topics. Tests were all online and straight to the point. Says in the syllabus attendance is required but at end of the semester if you're doing good she's very lenient about it. Highly recommend, she cares about her students and wants them to succeed.

Amazing prof! Got me way more into poli sci than I thought could happen. Super clear and interesting lectures. Chapter assessments are pretty boring but she didn't choose them; her higher ups did. Tests are straightforward, cover the core concepts, and pretty easy if you pay attention. Only complaint I have is that she isn't teaching POSI 2320 too.

Professor Cedillo is a great professor. She's really sweet and funny and encourages participation in fun, engaging ways. She truly cares and wants you to do well. Very supportive of different learning styles and does her best to help you.

I had Emily this past semester and absolutely adore her! She is so sweet and caring. Her lectures are easy to follow, and her humor makes them a lot easier to sit through. Her class is not hard- most assignments are strictly completion grades, and the tests are fairly easy and powerpoint based. 10/10 recommend!

Emily was such a good professor. Attendance wasn't mandatory, but going to class offered more insight to exam questions. The lowest test grade was dropped. She had unbiased lectures which really made it easy to learn.

GREAT PROF! Obviously Poli Sci isn't the most fun class but Emily made it super duper fun and enjoyable. If you just go to class and take notes, she tells you EXACTLY whats going to be on the test. Only a few mcgraw hill HWs per test and lots of extra credit opportunities. Super easy class. 10/10

Cedillo is by far the best professor I have had! Poli Sci can be boring and she understands that and tries to make each topic enjoyable and easy to understand. All her assignments were on McGraw Hill and had 4 open note online exams. You are required to scan in but tbh you could skip class and still get an A.

She's very nice and energetic! I don't like political science as a topic, but if I had to take another POSI class I would want it to be with her

Professor Cedillo is as good as they come. She has a passion for what she's teaching, and she really cares. Make sure you do all your hw & study for your exams. If you need help, make sure you go to her office hours. Attendance is important, so make sure you go to class. She is my favorite professor at Texas State so far!

Posi is very boring but she was funny and tried to make the content engaging. She's like a teacher/ comedian. Class attendance isn't mandatory but she would give answers for exams if you went. The only time consuming part of this class where the mccgraw hill assignments, but all answers are online

Mrs. Cedillo was my favorite teacher freshman year. I actually looked forward to going to her class. The class mostly consists of lectures, but she was easy to follow, funny, and provided many examples. Tests weren't hard as long as you go to class and take notes. She wants her students to succeed, but you have to put in the effort.

She's super chill but definitely a rambler it took forever to get through a couple slides. Assignments are on McGraw-Hill then exams on canvas so theres really nothing to complain about and as long as you take the notes in her class doing assignments and exams should be easy.

She is the absolute sweetest! You can tell she is super passionate about teaching politcial science; she allows students to participate in small activities throughout her lectures. Her lectures are long, but very engaging, so as long as you pay attention you should be good on exams! She also allows tons of opportunities for extra credit on exams!!

She offers extra credit throughout the semester. Her exams are made by her but super easy if you follow the lecture notes. She keeps students involved in lectures and tries to relate harder to follow concepts to things we understand. Great professor recommended her to everyone!

If you need a government credit, take it with Cedillo. To get an easy A, just go to class and listen. You don't really need to take notes. Her exams are definitions, and during lectures will most likely tell you if it is on the exam. Highly recommend

I took Emily for 2310 & 2320 and she was AMAZING! She genuinely understands and cares about her students. Attendance is mandatory and there are occasional pop quizzes, but she offers a lot of extra credit. I took her online, and I really enjoyed it. You do a lot of McGraw Hill homework, but they are pretty easy and you aren't penalized for wrong answers on the homework. The class is also paced really well, and her recorded lectures are really helpful and engaging! I would definitely take her again.

WHAT A QUEEN! I had Emily for posi 1320, and I chose to take her again for 2310 because she is amazing. Her lectures are long, but engaging. She truly cares about her students. I wish I could have her for all of my classes tbh.

I adore Professor Cedillo. She takes the time to make sure everyone understands the concepts, while also being interactive with the class. She is also extremely flexible and kind when life happens. She does her best to learn everyone's names, interests, major, and anything else they are willing to share. I have recommended her to everyone I know.

*2320 I cannot say enough about Prof. Cedillo. Looked forward to every lecture, always had fun in class. She encourages a lot of class participation, if you're the type to ask/answer questions this is the one for you. Homework is McGraw-Hill, books $180 and it's boring but not hard you just have to do it. Tests are very easy if you show up.

THE BEST PROFESSOR, I can not state this enough. Emily is by far my favorite professor at Texas State. She is very understanding and makes lecture fun. She's the perfect teacher. Doesn't force participation, offers many extra credit opportunities(and encourages you to make your own), makes class engaging, open-note exams and quizzes. She makes sure you know what will be on exams but allows you to use her slides on them. I was able to focus on her lessons rather than worrying about my grades.

She is very understanding and understands that students have a life outside of class. She makes all the topic assignments due on the same day, so you have plenty of time to complete them (and they are really easy). Her tests aren't difficult at all and she lets you use her slideshows (all the answers are there). I love having her as a professor.

She is so funny. Attendance is not mandatory however she gives you bonus points to your average grade if you go to every class. She also will do a pop quiz every now and then, but she gives you the answers if you are in class. Super easy class because she makes it so fun.

LOVE HER!!! Perfect attendance gets you extra credit but missing class doesn't hurt your points AT ALL. Some pop quizzes in class but gives us the answers so be there!! This class was very easy. All tests were given through Canvas and were open to do over the weekend. All of the questions came straight from the slideshows.

Very easy class. Attendance is necessary but she gives 10 unexcused absences so its basically not required. you can learn all you need from the homework but she gives good engaging lectures for such a big class. you can just sit in the back and do the homework and not pay attention and easily get an A.

I hate large open lecture courses like this one. I almost wanted to skip every day - but I stayed because her lectures are amazing and truly engaging. She is such a great person to talk about anything with: politics, random anecdotes. She is incredibly accommodating as well and is so truly empathetic to where students are coming from. Take her!

Very good professor you can tell that she truly cares about all of her students, and she is always willing to hear what you have to say. Course is pretty self paced with all of the assignments do online and far in advance. Attendance isnt mandatory but if you have perfect attendance you get extra credit.

Pretty easy online political science class if you're looking to get your basics done. All assignments are due the night the exam/assessments are due which can be a lot if you leave it for the last day since it's on McgrawHill but overall would take again.

Made 300 person lecture hall engaging (read: voluntary participation). Reading the textbook isn't super necessary, but there are textbook quizes (one for all the chapters in a unit (there were 4)) that can all be done on the day of the unit test, but that probably wasn't the best way to do it. The only assignments were unit quizes and the tests.

Great teacher. Extra credit on a few of the tests. Tests are really easy. Only hard part is the homework on Connect, but they're really not bad.

Attendance was taken at the beginning and end of class, random "pop quizzes" (in quotations because she gave us the answers), McGraw assignments, and tests all on your own time and not proctored. Her lectures were amazing and super engaging. The assignments in McGraw Hill were not the same as the slides so you will need to look at the textbook for the assignments, but the exams were questions that were word for word from the slides. "Pop Quizzes" that she gives us answers to so they're very easy. Overall very funny and caring!

This class is insanely easy. Exams open for a weekend, just print off the slideshows and the answers are underlined. Proctered through Procterio, but open note. She is very kind and accommodating, McGraw hills are long and annoying, but required by the department. The final exam is optional; no reason to take it since the other exams are free A's.

Literally tells you what will be on the exam before you take it+ answers are highlighted in the slides presented, so write down the important stuff. Overall super easy class take if you want an A!

Easiest online class ever, exams are open for the whole weekend, are proctored, but they are open note. Answers are word-for-word in the slideshow; just print it off, and you will get an A every time. McGraw-Hill is annoying, but every POSI class has it. I def recommend Prof. Cedillo.

I did the online course; it's super organized and straightforward. There are due dates once a month with a few homework assignments, a quiz, and then an exam, but you can complete them anytime within that month. She's great!

4 topics, each with 1-3 mcgraw hills, a quiz, an exam. all self paced. her notes correlate heavily to the exams. she provides slides AND video recordings of her going through the notes. her exams open for 4 about days, proctored online, but can use physical printed notes. i recommend taking this class.

POSI 2310 was a really easy and enjoyable class. The professor was very understanding and approachable, always willing to help when needed. The lectures were clear, and the course was straightforward—definitely an easy A if you stay engaged.
