Excellent teacher! I love her unique teaching style and artistic look. She's amazing!
Awesome, take her especially if you have a huge load and need to have an easy A. Tests are easy, home work is also minimal.
She's a great teacher. Makes art history interesting and not all boring.. She's very clear as to what she wants to teach and say..
Best, she is not anal about art... she will not make you hate it like others. She actually makes you wanna travel to Europe to see these masterpieces in person... Wow... Take advantage of her class to learn about art in a fun way.
good teacher.

She knows what she is talking about but her classes are very boring. I love art and I find myself falling asleep in her class. She shows so many slides that she as to rush threw the class leaving no time for people to comment or ask questions. The last thing about her is that she thinks that she is an English teacher and she will grade your papers
Prof. Haraldson is great. She has to grade papers and make corrections to make us better writers. Maybe the person below should actuallly learn how to write and spell (read the comments and count the errors)! She is very knowledgable and not boring at all - you'll want to go to art museums after taking this class!
Art 102 was very easy because she explained very clearly and interesting for each lectures.
Her quizzes are a piece of cake. I will revise the night before and get it completed. Her midtem assignment which is like the class final is what lowered many students grades. I had a 88% and dropped to an 81% because of the midterm. *Mandatory attendance, punctuality and ready for your slideshows. Everything else is an easy task.
you dont need the book. lose points for missing class gain for attending. the class may get boring but you only need to study a few slides last second to pass the tests. 2 papers due but they aren't too hard
shes a very nice and very sweet...easy class...i recommend taking the class during winter or summer...goes by faster...just go over the images you need to know ..basically all memorizing and the papers are very easy...i recommend her!
She is the best teacher in GCC. Everyone passed in the class. Her lectures are interesting and easy. i passed with an A. in tbis class you will learn new things. So i recommend to take this class.
She is really good. Her Test are so easy; you don't need the book, she lets you use stuff from on-line about the art so it's an easy A. If you have to take art 102, you should thake her class. She's funney, and those night classes can sometimes be hard to get through, but she makes it worth it.
Assignments are easy. But she asks u to study wait to much. She wants u to memorize artwork, then she wants u to memorize pointless vocab words, then she wants u to memorize detailed info for 2 paintings & then she wants a 4th thing on the test (which i forgot what that is). She asks u to remember way to much, and shes TO STRICT about attendance.
OMG She is not worth to take. MEMORIZATION. you have 100 slides of art work, and she only asks for 5 question. Yup, for getting a B, this class is just sooooo easy. I am shooting for an A, and this is way hard to get an A. I am not those slack off students, I study 10+ hrs for her test. Still, I cant get an A. Maybe I am just not good at art.
This teacher is the best art teacher in GCC. If you take you will pass with an A. Very easy if you study.
the tests are really hard. she changed them recently. Unless you are good at memorizing this class is going to be hard. for the tests its ALL MEMORIZING. i would not recommend this class at all take something else, or at least take the class with another teacher.
Great Class--Extremeley articulate professor with alot of energy and enthusiasm for the subject, Lots of slide shows--Intense memorization skills required---Top rate PROFESSOR, very Dynamic (Good Luck if u want an A, which is not a bad thing..you'll have to really earn it)---Hopefully you like the subject if you take it--I did!!!! THANK You!
Very fun and passionate young professor. She's easy on the eyes if you get bored with the lecture. If you are good memorizer, her exams are easy to ace. HIGHLY recommend her if you have to take Art History 102 for a requirement at GCC.
Dont take her.
Great professor...I was borderline A and she told me that the final grade was really up to her (I ended up with an A). Just go to class, ask questions, take notes and do good on tests (Which aren't that hard if you study and memorize some stuff) Btw, it's ok if you fall asleep. Sometiems I couldn't help it lol but try not to be too rude.
Great Professor! Wonderful attitude loves what she does.
TAKE HER!!! She is very nice and makes class fun!You will pass this class if you study just like any ART History but with a great professor!
Shes a great teacher...if youre good at memorizing then youre gonna do fine on the tests. and she makes class pretty fun...its not a class where youre not gonna wanna go...i really recommend her :)
her art hist. 101 class is very interesting. you dont veen have to do much , just be respectful, and dont talk to much or use your phone. easy to get along with. and its not too much work, just take note of something when she mentions that its important - its usually going to be an art term. her tests are very fair. she gives you all the questions
shes truley a great teacher. study study and STUDY for the tests lots of memorizing! dont take the class during winter semester. this is a class that shoulder be taken in fall or spring.
prof haraldson is so cool. I loved going to her class everyday and makes learning about paintings interesting and FUN!
Haraldson is a very enthusiastic teacher. She loves art and her love for art is pretty contagious. I will say, although, that the class kinda drags on. Looking at slides for the entire span of the class gets a little boring. Buying the book is pretty unnecessary because you will never really use it. Memorize the paintings and you will be fine
Professor Haraldson is a GREAT teacher. The class is pretty easy but can be boring if you aren't interested in Art. The tests are fairly easy, she hands out a study guide a week before the test on the artworks that will be on the test and only 10 out of 25 from the study guide will be on the test. Just pay attention in class and take GOOD notes!!!!
Haraldsen is the best art history teacher by far. She's a pleasure to look at and a reat teacher. She is passionate about art, and really knows her ish. Questions and comments are always welcomed (unless they're nonsense). Field trips and plenty of laughter help this class fly. You're the best Haraldsen.
Professor Haraldson really loves what she does. Her class is really fun if you like art. The tests are kind of hard since you have to memorize 40 images and about 10 vocabulary words. But if you really make an effort and prepare before your tests you will get an A. The 2 papers were very easy. Enjoy the class and have fun.
After looking at these ratings, and assuming she was a good teacher, she's not AT ALL. She doesn't make any clarity about what she wants on the test, until you've gotten it back and failed. After the first midterm two thirds of the class failed! ..that should tell you something! save your gpa and DO NOT TAKE HER
the subject itself is difficult. if you want an A you got to study reeeeaaaaallyyyy hard. but it is possible. thank god I was taking it for credit/no credit
wayyy too much to memorize. its realllly hard. u have to study a lotttttttttttttt to pass the class.
If you are an Art, History, or even Art History major, all you need to do is study her reviews; no reading really necessary. If you aren't any of these majors or take no interest in them, you will need to work harder. Her lectures are interesting and you'll learn alot! You're making it harder than it actually is. :3
She is a great teacher for all students who want to take art history. She is very clear and passionate about what she does and is really good at interacting with students. Oh, and word to the wise, if your taking Art 102 with her, make sure you study for the first exam. The majority of people failed the first one from being too lazy.....like me : (
She is great! I had no in terest in art history before I took her class but, after listening to her a week I loved it! She is great becuase she makes teh subject interesting. The class is not hard but you need to study for each exam pretty well to do well. Totally reccomend this class.
Professor Haraldson is a great person. She knows what she is talking about and she is passionate about art. Though, you should study for her exams from her lectures. You don't need to read the book much, just read it for the exams b/c u will find more info on the images she expects u to know.
She was great! She loves Art and her passion makes the class fun. She gives you the freedom to express yourself on your papers in your own words. Attendance is mandatory. You can easily get a good grade!
This teacher is awesome. She is always smiling and yes if you are not lazy and would like to earn a good grade you must study and prepare. She explains very well and grades fairly. Most important on her essays she does not grade your grammar however you must show that your ideas are clear.I certainly recommend her.
Awsome....she makes art history a very fun class, but u might sleep, just like me,,i got an A cuz i studied for the tests for 4 days...but they are so straight forward :) take her and have fun
DO NOT THINK TWICE ABOUT TAKING PROFESSOR HARALDSON! She really knows what she's talking about and makes the class fun! Your grade is based on attendance(50 points),10 easy hw assignments(100 points), a very fun and easy project(100 points), a midterm(100 points), and a final(100 points) If you study & attend class you will succeed! She's amazing!!
Prof Haraldson is knowledgable, helpful, and very passionate. Attend, participate in discussion, and she will teach you what you need to know. Fair warning: although she has a great sense of humor, the bar for the final take-home essay has been set very high. And in case you're wondering professor, you got a chili pepper.
one word I would use to describe Prof. Haraldson is "reasonable". She gives a reasonable amount of hw and her exams are reasonable for what she covers in class...and shes funny :)
Lots of fun. Clear assignments. Showed graphic of Flying Spaghetti Monster giving life to Adam. Showed children's cartoon show as part of course content. But it's a good class.
She is an awesome teacher for who likes to know about Renaissance art
Professor Harldsom is amazing! Her contemporary art class is great. We got no homework. A few class dissuasion. Are assignments were to visit a museum and art gallery. If you have any passion about art those are easy assignments. Then 1 paper and then a take home final! Class was all lecture. We viewed videos and mostly pictures. Very fun class! :)
This class IS NOT for everyone. she is going to talk about 200 paintings and she expects you to know them in detail, I mean lots of detail. She is VERY strict. If you are late even for a minute you will loose points. you also have to turn in 8 page term paper for a painting which is tough for someone who isn't art major. requires LOTS of effort.
She is one of the best professors I've ever had. She is amazing. Very patient, especially to people like me whose first language is not English. I enjoyed every minute of her class and I wish I could take it again.
Professor Haraldson is great!! pay attention in class, don't be absent and you should be in great shape for the midterm and final! really enjoyed this class more than i thought i would have!! take her, you won't regret
Very simple professor, you just take notes off her slides. Tests are written based, she gives out two essays and extra credit. The homework is really simple it's usually 2 questions based off a video you watch online. Overall, she's a good professor with a decent work load.
Class is not the difficult. Take notes off her powerpoint slides, do your homework, study for your exams, don't ditch class and you'll be fine. Attendance is mandatory and part of your grade (50 points).
She makes you work for an "A" but its not impossible to earn one. Reading and attendance is mandatory. Homework was pretty easy and she has a passion for teaching; she's always on time and ready to lecture. If you're able to add her class I would totally recommend her.
Professor Haraldson is great! The class is not difficult. Attend class, take notes from her power points, read the textbook and you should be fine. It's really a great class!
Took her with all these reviews in mind. After taking the mid-term, she had a fit with the class because almost everyone got a D. In all honesty, this was mostly her fault. Her teaching method is like abstract art with a couple of keywords here and there as guidance; this isn't teaching. Learning without clarity is like walking with a blindfold.
This is the easiest class I've ever taken. Just attend the class, read the textbook, and you'll get an "A." Prof. Haraldson is a very nice person, too. Quizzes are very easy, just like any other assignments. She is an easy-grader, so it's hard not to get a decent grade.
Prof. Haraldson is amazing! I took her 101 class in summer, easy A. She grades easily, just make sure you follow ALL the guidelines. You HAVE to read in order to pass. Quizzes are easy and the tests are even easier. Recommend her class to anyone.
I learned not only because I put a lot of work into it and art is a subject I love, but also because she is passionate about her work. I plan to audit her other class even though I'm done with my credits. I learned so much.
Even tho I am not a fan of art, she manages to make class lectures interesting. Homework is very easy. Quizzes are easy if you pay attention and take notes. Midterm and final can be hard but easy to manage to get a good grade. Attendance is mandatory. I did not purchase the book and with very little effort I passed. She's very nice and I recommend.
There aren't enough words to express how much I love Mrs. Haraldson. Her lectures are very thorough; although when she says read the book, she really means.. read the book! She sneaks in some questions from the reading on to the quizzes. Overall, the tests, quizzes, final, and midterm are easy as long as you stick to the reading assigned.
Awesome professor. Easy to get a good grade in the class as long as you keep up with the reading and take good notes. Highly recommended!
Professor Haraldson is part of a rare breed of teachers. She doesn't care what you do in class!!! I was able to easily pass with a B just by listening to what she had to say. I never took a single page of notes and would sit there and finish my Chen lab reports. The finalmidterm are tough but manageable. I wish all my teachers were like her!
Professor Haraldson is a good teacher. Her classes tend to drag on if you're not into art. After a while, each painting looks exactly the same with the same symbolism and features. Because of this, it is important to take notes and to buy the book. Aside from the boring class, Haraldson is very friendly and funny. She is easy to relate to.
Prof Haraldson made a subject I didn't really care about enjoyable. If you need an art history class, take her! She's sweet, funny, and helpful. Her lectures are informative so pay attention, take good notes, and make sure you go to every class. Do your best and you'll earn the grade you deserve.
Professor Haraldson is awesome. Before I took this class, I was on here reading the feedback and what everyone is saying about studying hard is true, you have to seriously put the time in studying for this class. The paintings are interesting, it could get boring only if you don't focus. Awesome class, not an easy A but study hard and you'll get it
Professor Haraldson is amazing! The class requires a lot of reading. She gives quizzes for each chapter (easy 5 questions), a midterm (50 points), an essay (extremely easy), a final (100 points), and really easy homework that only take 15 minutes or so. You HAVE to be willing to read and memorize! If you read the book, you'll get an A or B :)
I like her... she is the best
She is the best, i really like her class. I wish I could take all my art classes with her.
I initially read all of the reviews and expected a decent professor. Her grading for midterm is ridiculous, and her reasoning is only based on because she feels like she can do whatever she wants. When taking multiple other classes she shouldn't be making an art history class seem impossible. Get real. Stop making it seem harder than what it is.
Very easy class. Very long and boring lectures though, no notes are required to pass the class. I only took one page of notes and I passed with an A. She doesn't care if you text in class. She's a sweetheart. She does expect A essays though, so follow directions. Weekly readings and responses, they're annoying but they're easy points.
She's a Wikipedia of art. There's literally not a single thing about art she doesn't know. Her class is very interesting, and you will get a lot of knowledge. Quizzes are kind of hard and the text book is a must. Get ready to read A LOT! TAKE NOTES! of everything she says. Lectures are amazing, and her way of teaching is simply wonderful.
Very tough class, harder than art 102. In general, Prof Haraldson is very knowledgeable and passionate about art, friendly, funny, and interesting. Taking any class with her would be a good choice. Art 119 specifically was harder simply because the concepts itself are harder to understand, especially for someone that's not an art major.
Professor Haraldson is very passionate about art history. Her lectures are great and is funny too. The homework is very easy. The quizzes in class are fair, just make sure to review your notes before class. She doesn't provide a study guide for the exams, but just review the stuff she went into detail during the lecture to do great on the exams.
very passionate about the subject makes class interesting. Do all the homework and any extra credit she gives because there are quizzes at the end of every chapter and they're not easy. He test are easy if you read
She is the best teacher ever. If you study you will pass the class for sure. Basic stuff just pay attention to her lectures and you will be fine. Review notes before quiz.
Professor Haraldson is SO amazing!! She's passionate and enthusiastic with a great sense of humor. Her lectures are very enjoyable, it would be difficult not to pay attention. Her grading system is fair and easy to follow.
Prof. Haraldson is awesome!!! Her lectures are engaging she really wants to make students think critically about the material presented in lecture. Class included a midterm and final two essays and a compare contrast, in addition short reading response assignments. Overall, I would highly recommend taking any class she teaches.
Prof. Haraldson is fantastic!! Extremely knowledgable about art history and is not boring while lecturing. Be aware that you need to take good notes and read the textbook. Easy five question quizzes after every chapter, one museum paper, and the midterm and final. Keep up with the reading and pay attention and you will pass.
Professor Haraldson is an amazing professor to put it simply. Took this as a GE class and was not sure what to expect for an Art History class but after a semester with Haraldson I can definitely say I have a profound appreciation for art and the history behind it. Must go to class everything is lecture based, easy HW, easy quizzes, essay midterms
Professor Haraldson is amazing, she's so passionate about the subject she teaches and she really cares about her students. Her lectures are very interesting, follow along, take thorough notes and keep up with the readings you'll be fine in the class. She also does help her students if she sees they're really trying in the class. Trust me, take her!
She was an amazing professor! If you show up to every lecture and pay clear attention, do the reading assignments, and the homework, you should definitely be able to get an A! The museum paper was fairly easy and so are the quizzes, midterm, and final. All she looks for is effort. This class was not hard at all. Passed with a 96%!
I really enjoyed taking Professor Haraldson's class! She's extremely witty, down to earth and very passionate about Art History. She also seems like a pretty cool person in general. You will really come away with a deeper love and appreciation for art after taking this course. I learned so many interesting things. Great teacher! Highly recommended.
Amazing professor. She is clear, thorough, and very aproachable. Great sense of humor and great passion for the arts.
Great class, great Professor. Very passionate, fair grader. Loved her class, she is very organized and straightforward. You will fall in love with art, again. Take her.
Professor Haraldson was great! The course was very very organized, and she made it very easy to stay on track and not miss any assignments. The midterm and final were difficult, but I managed to keep an A after studying like crazy. I genuinely grew an appreciation for the arts thanks to this course. Highly recommend!
she is a really good professor. the class was complicated since im not an art major but she makes the lectures really easy to follow and understand . she is thick
Not an easy A. Strict on a few assignments, if she finds a lowercase "i" for "I" in the museum report you will get a zero. Homework is easy & quizzes are short. Midterm/final study guides are helpful. If you just show up you can pass. Fair grader, approachable and helpful w/ questions during lectures. Only used GCC TB to study for midterm/final
Professor Emily Haraldson Is one of the most not caring teachers I have ever had in my academic carrier. This professor does not care about his /her students what so ever. Her lectures are boring, not important, out of content. It is sad that there are teachers like this. What even more sad is that there are humans like that in this world.
If you have ever asked yourself can a human being be so Resentful and pathetic? The answer is yes! If you still doubt that then take this profession and judge it yourself...
She is a though grader. She has her moods she can be nice but only when she is infront of other people or else she is mean if youre speaking to her by yourself. I would really recommend her there are better professors.
There are better professors out there....
Loved Professor Haraldson so much! She is such a fair grader and gives amazing lectures because of how passionate she is on the subject. Her class was a breeze for me and she offered plenty of extra credit, which really wasn't even needed. Quizzes on every chapter (easy, read the chapter, review notes). Midterm and final (questions given before).
Mrs. Haraldson is a very passionate knowledgeable professor, she is straight forward. Do all the work, your going to pass. The syllabus tells you what is expected of you, be there for the lectures, quizzes and tests. If art was my Major, she would be my go to professor for knowledge and incredible informative lectures. Communication is key!
Class is lectured based, but the lectures are interesting. If you miss you won't pass.
she's very nice. you just have to show up and take notes on her lecture
She is the worst teacher I've had in my life. For only a 3 unit course you have to put all your energy . She doesn't care if you learn or not. Don't take her class.
I won't take a class with her again. She is not a caring teacher and her lectures are not interesting. She doesn't care about your progress. I haven't learned anything from her class although I got an A.
She is one of the best professors at GCC. She knows a lot about art history and make the class more interesting and exciting. I learned a lot from her presentations as well as from the textbook. She really cares about your progress as well as your grades. Excellent professor!
She is the worse professor I have ever took, she didn't care about her students, she will give you zero for no reason. Avoid her.
Professor Haraldson is really a total gem. She is caring about her students and gives you study guides so you always will know EXACTLY what's on the exam. If you dont pass that really on you for being lazy. She grades very fairly and takes the time to talk to her students when they have questions and really loves her job. Essays are also super easy
She's a pretty chill and informative teacher. Difficult class if you don' pay attention but it's pretty easy if you just listen to lectures. She's confident in her speaking and is a relatively good person. Don't worry guys she's good.
Professor Haraldson is very knowledgeable of art history, her lectures are based off of the texbook, paintings, photographs and writing on essay questions. Attendance is required, participation matters, essay project, and homework are important. Review everything that she reviews during lecture and stay on top of your art movement. Take her class!
This was my first AH class--I had trouble at first because I wasn't used to learning how to talk about art. Now I visit art museums for fun and may take more AH classes even though my major is psych. Professor Haraldson is really passionate and cares about her students. But don't expect an easy A, and DON'T skip the paper for the love of god...
I expected her class to be fun and much easier. And her being careless did not help, shes a tough grader (she grades the papers the way Eng 104 papers are graded) and shes very rude in her comments and feedbacks! (She literally took 20 pts off because I had a typo and instead of I I put i) did not learn anything in her class, shocking!
I took her online winter course and it was fast-paced (as expected). LOTS of reading and lots of homework. Her online "lectures" were actually pretty useful. She is a tough grader BUT she does give a study guide for tests. Don't expect an easy A. You will need to work for it, but it is possible.
Test heavy class but honestly it's a good thing as the tests/quizzes were a breeze if you actually put the time in for them. In comparison to what I've heard about other Art History 101 classes, this was a breeze.
She's a sweetheart and very passionate about art. Her classes were interesting but sometimes boring. She has homework assignments, quizzes, midterm, museum research paper, and final. I worked really hard to maintain my A so it's not an easy GE class you can mess around in. Use the study guides people! You have to work for your A. Good luck.
Haraldson's class isn't difficult whatsoever as long as you take notes on her lectures and read. Taking her as honors atm & we've had 10 hw assignments, 10 quizzes, 1 museum paper, 1 artist research paper, the midterm and the final. Her lectures are extremely interesting to listen to and she's very well articulated. Love her!
Loved the class but if you are looking for an easy Honors class while taking other difficult courses, this aint it. It is quite time consuming to prepare for her midterm and final, as well as read for the quizzes. But if your schedule isnt packed i'd strongly recommend taking this class. Haraldson knows exactly what shes talking about in lec.
Overall shes a good a teacher. Lectures can feel boring at times but its not her fault. Homework is easy and she gives study guides that have the exact questions written on them that are gonna be on the test, study those and you should be fine!
10/10 would recommend! I'm so glad I took this course. I would rate higher but you can't go past a 5! I took the online summer class and her power-points and videos are VERY helpful and clear. Very interesting and exciting class. I enjoyed writing papers for her because topics were interesting/ allowed for interpretation!
Took the online class n managed to get a B without the textbook for the required readings. There are weekly discussions and quizzes, 2 required chats, a paper, midterm and final. Be prepared the final will purely be essay questions and its worth 150 pts. This class wasn't easy, but def manageable. Doesn't give feedback on work. GET THE BOOK lol..
Doesn't respond to emails.
I took Prof. Haraldson AH 102 online class during the Winter and it was definitely one of my fav. She sent periodic reminders of due dates and seemed invested in us doing well. I learned a lot, the workload, even for Winter, was very reasonable. If you read, do the work, study and follow her instructions you'll do great!
she does not work w students and seems lazy to even meet in campus. but its easy
Emily is an awful professor. She shows very little respect towards students and does not respond to emails in a timely manner whatsoever. Be ready for her simple art classes to feel like you are part of some sort of unforgiving univerisity. The work is not worth the reward. She loves to force her political views on her students as well. Awful.
Two long chapters at week its to much. I barely had time to read everything understand it and respond alway in a hurry, she releases her homework Sunday at 11:59 pm and she expect everything done by Wednesday. super thought grader in research paper. And if you tell her help you dont understand she says look in the book or her notes. Dont like
Literal sweetheart. I love this Professor, she's the only understanding professor i've had. Attendance is important but if you can't make it to class, email her n she'll be so understanding about it. I wasn't feeling well a few times n she excused my absences. Good teacher but even better person. Reasonable amount of work is given. Not hard to pass
The tests and quizzes are hard, but as long as you read the textbook, the PowerPoint, watch the video, and study for the exams, you will be alright. Don't miss any assignments!
Just like you(the reader), I used ratemyprofessor. Don't be fooled by just the good reviews. Expect 20-30pgs weekly reading, weekly quizzes with tricky wording/vocab. Complete all assignments. Even during Covid-19 she didn't slow or make adjustments to ease the students during A PANDEMIC. In contrary, added lec. where student had to teach themself.
May present herself like an understanding/ caring professor. But when you need her help, don't be surprised how INHUMANE and COLD she can be with you. Her priority is her title as President of the Guild at GCC. Multiple times she mentioned her life revolves on her title and not interested in making effort to better/ dedicate her time to students
Professor Haraldson was a great experience. I took Art 102 with her and the past five weeks have gone by very smoothly. To be specific, there its about 4/5 assignments that are to be completed each week. Typically, its two homework assignments, a discussion post, and a quiz or two. Easy assignments and gives good feedback when you miss points.
The class was fairly easy. If you read the textbook and the lecture that she provides, all of the information is there. It can be a lot of reading and people may find art hard to read, so it's not the best. But if you study and focus, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle. She gives good feedback if you don't get full credit. Good class for summer.
She's a good teacher and I liked her class, but she is a bit stuck up. She is a very fair grader and the study guide will make you ace the test!
She has no respect for you even if you show it. It seems like she hates everyone for no reason. She will make your write alot for some painting that is hard to explain.
Her class was wonderful. She has multiple assignments, with one large essay. Her exams were written, but she gives the study guide with potential questions. She requires a textbook, but her presentations give the answers to the quizzes. Absolutely adored her class!
I never really had to use the book except for her study guides, her lecture slides cover most of the important things. You can easily pass the midterm and final if you do the study guides, the test questions are exactly the same just randomly picked. You will also have a 750 word research paper about an artwork from a local museum.
I took this class and I got an A, but this instructor belittled some students. DO NOT TAKE HER. She should not be teaching at GCC. I encourage everyone to report her because students deserve better. Her lectures are not clear, she always talks about how horrible her job is and wishes she can retire early. She should not be working at GCC.
I transferred from GCC to PCC because this teacher used me as a joke in front of the class and everyone was at laughing at me. I suffer depression because of this incident. I am traumatized because of her. I told my therapist about this and she said she will write a letter. I recommend that you all transfer to PCC, it's not too far.
I took this course online over the summer, and though there was a lot of reading, the assignments were all straightforward. Professor Haraldson was very kind and responded quickly every time I emailed her. Fair warning though, there are some multiple choice quizzes and sections on the final, but most of the assignments in this class are written.
Took this over Spring 2022 as an online class. Lots of reading from the textbook is required but very captivating if you genuinely are interested in art. Can be easy if you are willing to put in the time to read.
The professor was not friendly. She didn't give an opportunity to improve the grade, I explained her about my healthy situation. Everywhere the students can take the exam again if they failed. The materials were awful. The pictures had a very bad psychological influence on me, they were very terrible. NOT every picture can be an art.
Class was straightforward. Make sure to exactly follow what she wants from your assignments because she docks points if otherwise. Lots of reading and videos so cramming is highly discouraged. Textbook is super expensive. I'd recommend but maybe for one of her other classes. She's very open to different views when analyzing art so that's a plus.
The professor can be disorganized, but the content is captivating if you're genuinely interested in art. Doing the readings and using resources like Unstuck AI can help offset the lack of clarity. Take it if you're willing to put in the time.
One of my favorite professors in GCC. She's so passionate about art and her lectures are so interesting. Just listen to the material she provides, attend the class and you'll be fine
Prof. Haraldson is great, but if you are taking this course only for GE credit, do yourself a favor and choose a different class, unless art is something that you really really love. Not an easy grader, but clear grading criteria. You have to read a lot and analyse a lot. If you are not passionate about art, this course isn't for you.
The issue is the due dates. It's extensive amount of work that's due in the middle of the week, but within the actual assignment, it could be due much earlier than that. Incredibly lecture and homework heavy with short deadlines, wouldn't recommend if you take other classes or work full-time. Modules are locked so you can't prepare ahead of time
(8wk). The homework didn't take that long. Beware that some of the Canvas due dates might be misleading. It says the discussion is due Fri, but the initial response is due Wed, and it's locked until you do a couple other assignments. She responds to emails in a decent timeframe. Not difficult, but the beginning-middle of the week is a bit loaded.
Enjoyed her class! Good amount of homework but no real tests, just a midterm and final that are online. easy to pass if you just do the work.
the due dates are problem there can be due friday but iy will be due tuesday, also responding to emails were not always been. to much homework if you're taking other classes too.
I took her 8-week online class and it was very fast-paced. Each week, she assigns 2 chapters, a discussion, and quizzes; she's generally a fair grader. Lecture slides are long and even if you read the chapter, you don't know if a test will ask about something important or briefly mentioned. Definitely block out lots of time for this class.
